Pakistan vs Australia 3rd ODI Preview Dream11. PAK vs AUS 3rd ODI Preview Dream11 Prediction
So, apparently only one team has been trying to win. In that time, we basically watched the same ODI twice, as Australia continued their surge ahead of the World Cup.
Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has come out and said this series isn’t about winning. Rather, it’s about giving the youngsters a go. That sort of comment is ridiculous – even more so after losing two games convincingly. The stand-in captain needs instill a winning mentality no matter who lines up for Pakistan. This is especially as the men in green have won just three out of 18 ODIs vs top eight opposition since 2018. Can they step up keep the series alive in Abu Dhabi?
No credit should be taken away from Australia. They have been mighty efficient in both ODIs, losing a total of just four wickets en-route to an easy 2-0 series lead. The return to form of Aaron Finch is most pleasing, and even though poor Jhye Richardson suffered a nasty injury last match, Australia still have the bench quality even without Starc and Hazlewood. Will they continue to build on their fine series win vs India?
Key to a Pakistan win
Pakistan have looked toothless with the ball. The lack of penetration with the ball is concerning, even with their main players rested. Usman Khan Shinwari is a proven wicket taker in white-ball cricket, and you feel he has to play in this one if Pakistan are to make inroads. Breaking through the strong Finch-Khawaja stand could lift the side, which brings the likes of Yasir Shah into the game more against new batsmen.
Also, can Pakistan go a little better than 280-odd? They were in quite some trouble in the second ODI, where Mohammad Rizwan and Shoaib Malik put on a fine stand to get Pakistan to respectability. However, significant onus is on the top order, who tried to make a quicker start last time out. What resulted was a series of soft dismissals, that then allowed Aaron Finch of all people to bowl ten overs for 41. Can Imam-ul-Haq make a mark? What about the frustrating Umar Akmal? These two, as part of a big top six effort also including Haris Sohail, need to propel Pakistan to 300.
Key to an Australia win
It remains to be seen whether Australia bring Pat Cummins in place of the injured Jhye Richardson. Richardson bounced back superbly after an expensive first outing, before a bad shoulder injury has ended his series. Whether it is Cummins or Behrendhorff, Australia will be out for more early wickets to quelm Pakistan’s progress. With Adam Zampa and Nathan Lyon honest, Australia can then attempt to put the squeeze on Pakistan in the middle overs. However, can Australia be better at the death?
Also, how well are Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja going? David Warner’s superb start to IPL 2019 has created more headaches for selectors. Australia’s opening stands across the India and Pakistan campaigns now read: 0, 83, 193, 3, 76, 63 and 209. More of the same will be of interest for these two openers, who will be looking to ramp up the pressure on both the selectors and Pakistan’s bowlers. With Shaun Marsh and the middle order in good touch, Australia can hope for another smooth batting performance.
Possible Playing 11
Faheem Ashraf has been rested for the final three ODIs. Expect Usman Khan Shinwari to come in for Mohammad Abbas, who has largely struggled for threat in this series.

Dream11 Prediction
Option 2:
Stats and Facts
- Pakistan have won just three of 18 ODIs vs top eight opposition since 2018.
- Australia have won their last five ODIs. This is the first time they have achieved this since 2015.
- With a win, Australia will achieve their fourth straight series victory across formats.
- The last time Pakistan played Australia at Abu Dhabi, they were unable to get two off the last over to win.
Match Prediction
It has been one-way traffic so far in this series.
However, I expect the third ODI to be a more competitive one. Still, though, I will pick Australia to win as they look the stronger unit right now.
