The National Stadium in Karachi will host PSL 2023 match number 12 between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United. The Babar Azam-led Zalmi side are coming off a comfortable win in their last encounter whereas Islamabad will be seeking for a win after a failure in their last clash.
Both sides are looking pretty strong in both of their departments in the early stages of the tournament.
Peshawar Zalmi had been fantastic so far this season carrying only a single failure against the mighty Multan side. They have won a couple of games out of the three they played thus far and hence would be looking to conquer Islamabad United for their further progress. On the other hand the capital side, Islamabad, have won one game out of the two they played so far and would be looking to grab their second victory against the tough Peshawar side.
An amazing clash is on the cards as the two well balanced sides face each other this evening.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Peshawar Zalmi:
- Captain Babar Azam has looked good in the initial games PZ played and will be aiming for another match winning knock for his side. He has scored 96 runs so far this season. He has a decent record against ISU with 503 runs in 13 innings to his name.
- English batsman Tom Cohler-Cadmore is the top run getter for his side so far scoring 104 runs striking at 160 in three games. The in-form batter will be one of the biggest threats for the opposition.
- James Neesham is playing like his prime days as he is shining almost in all the games he plays. He was the man of the match last game against Gladiators and is in red hot form. The all-rounder has scored 66 runs striking at 153.49 and also has scalped three wickets.
- Salman Irshad is the key player to watch out for in this match as the right arm pacer is the top wicket taker for the side with three wickets in two outings. He has scalped a total of eight wickets against ISU.
- Wahab Riaz vs ISU: 17 innings, 25 wickets, economy: 7.17.
Islamabad United:
- Colin Munro is the top run scorer for ISU so far. He has scored 89 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 174.51. Against Peshwar Zalmi, he has a good record in the past with 144 runs at 153 strike rate to his name.
- Rassie van der Dussen looked good in this season so far in his maiden PSL season. He scored 80 runs in two innings striking well at 140. He will be the player for ISU in the middle overs.
- Captain Shadab Khan has fantastic numbers against all the PSL teams and the opposition this time, Peshawar Zalmi, is nothing different. He has taken 12 wickets against them in PSL. But the talisman hasn’t looked up to the mark to his standards this season and will be finding the opportunity to get back on the track today itself.
- Azam Khan has scored 165 runs against Peshawar in six innings thus far and will be looking to add more to it. He looked good in his 44 runs inning against Karachi and will look to continue his good form in the middle order.
- All rounder Faheem Ahraf has pretty decent stats against ISU in the past as he has taken 14 wickets thus far and also has scored 137 runs striking at 154.
