Karachi Kings will be taking on Islamabad United in the 6th league match of PSL 2021 at National Stadium Karachi.
Last year’s champions, Karachi Kings, got their PSL 2021 campaign off to a perfect start by winning their opening match against Quetta Gladiators. Kings bowlers continued from where they left off in the 2020 season and restricted Gladiators for a below-par score of 121.
In PSL 2020, no team was as economical as Kings in powerplay overs. Arshad Iqbal, one of the emerging players, was the star with the ball and picked 3 three wickets, while their overseas batter on debut Joe Clarke played a match-winning of 46 from 23 balls.
Meanwhile, Islamabad United also stood up in their opening match against Multan Sultans which was a close-fought encounter. Shadab’s men were 74 for 6 in their chase when their English All-Rounder Lewis Gregory came to rescue and fired a 31 ball 49 and got the first win of the season. He was adjudged Man of the Match for his heroics.
The two-time champions will be looking for their second win on the trot and it’s going to be a crackpot.

Karachi Kings
- Babar Azam – Azam was the leading run-scorer of PSL 2020 and scored 24 off 20 balls in the opening encounter against Quetta. The Pakistani Ace Batsmen played for Islamabad United in 2016 and since then he has played 11 matches against them and scored 339 runs at an average of 37.67 and the best score of 68.
- Joe Clarke – Clarke on debut played a sensational knock of 46 off 23 balls and got his side to the perfect start. He would like to make most of his red-hot form and score bucket of runs this season.
- Sharjeel Khan – Khan has been hot and cold in PSL so far. He has played for United in past and playing against them he scored 38 & 37 in last year’s PSL. We don’t have enough sample size but since he is opening the innings, he is worth a gamble in Grand Leagues.
- Daniel Christian – T20 veteran has been in good form of late and has been performing in leagues across the globe. In the opening encounter, he was seen bowling crucial overs. Also, Nabi did not bowl in the first match, and if he bowls Christain might share his overs with him.
Islamabad United
- Alex Hales – After topping the run-charts in Big Bash, the T20 run machine will be keen to wave his flag in Pakistan as well. He has a huge fan base in the country and will be facing his previous side Karachi. He was the second-highest run-getter for them last year so it would be interesting to see how he shapes up against them.
- Phil Salt – Salty was bench-warming for United last year until the last match which he played against the same opposition. This year he got a chance in the first match and would like to grab the opportunity with both hands. He has scores of 46 & 25 in the two innings against Kings.
- Lewis Gregory – English All-Rounder was in blitz mode and would be high on confidence after that. He is bowling a good amount of overs as well. He has just played once against Kings and scored 25 runs off 22 balls.
