Will Pucovski and Marcus Harris broke a 30-year-old record of scoring the highest ever partnership in Sheffield Shield history. They have beaten Mark Waugh and Steve Waugh’s 464 in 1990. Pucovski and Harris combined for an incredible partnership of 486 runs against South Australia, wherein they made 255 and 239 respectively.
“I don’t have much control over whether they pick me or not, but I’m definitely very keen,” Pucovski said earlier in the week of his Test dreams for this summer as per Fox Sports reports. “It’s been a dream of mine since I can remember. From that perspective, I’m definitely very keen to hopefully put my best foot forward. But it’s out of my control, so I’ll just be focusing on what I can control”, said.
The Waugh brothers had smashed the unbeaten score against Western Australia. Victoria has declared on 3 for 569 after Harris got out at 239. Harris who was dropped midway during the Ashes 2019, knows how important the Test matches are for his career. He has also scored 258 runs against India in 2019-19 during the last visit down under.
