QUE vs MUL Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report: PSL 2022 Match 7 | QUE vs MUL Dream11 Prediction Today | Quetta Gladiators vs Multan Sultans Key Players | Karachi Pitch Report
Defending champions Multan Sultans have made the perfect start to their title defence, winning two out of two so far in PSL 2022. Interestingly, both victories have been quite the contrast, highlighting the depth in their squad and ability to produce in different disciplines.
Yes, chasing has proven the way to go once again at Karachi, but Multan have both restricted a team (124/5 vs Karachi) and chased a mammoth total (206/5 vs Lahore) with the top order in great touch and Khushdil Shah showing off his finishing ability after sealing 16 off the final four balls.
So, it promises to be an interesting match against Quetta Gladiators. Last season’s bottom-placed team has made a promising start to PSL 2022, notching up 190 against Peshawar, before rolling Karachi for 113 courtesy of Naseem Shah’s brilliant 5/20. The key for the Gladiators will be to make inroads into the Sultans’ top order and put pressure on their middle as early as possible.
Possible Playing 11
Quetta Gladiators: 1. Will Smeed, 2. Ahsan Ali, 3. Ben Duckett, 4. Sarfaraz Ahmed (c & wk), 5. Iftikhar Ahmed, 6. Mohammad Nawaz, 7. Sohail Tanvir, 8. James Faulkner, 9. Ashir Qureshi, 10. Mohammad Hasnain, 11. Naseem Shah
Imran Khan went for 54 in his 3.4 overs last game vs Lahore, so he may be replaced today. Also, it remains to be seen if Ihsanullah plays after bowling 2.2 overs in the last match.
Multan Sultans: 1. Shan Masood, 2. Mohammad Rizwan (c & wk), 3. Sohaib Maqsood, 4. Rilee Rossouw, 5. Tim David, 6. Khushdil Shah, 7. David Willey, 8. Imran Khan/Anwar Ali, 9. Shahnawaz Dahani, 10. Imran Tahir, 11. Ihsanullah/Ruman Raees
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Quetta Gladiators:
- Ahsan Ali has made a superb start to PSL 2022 with scores of 73 (46) and 57* (43). He will be aiming to improve on his record vs Multan, against whom he has scored just 40 runs in three innings against since 2019 (avg. 13.33).
- Will Smeed has also made a terrific start to this campaign. After his brilliant 97 in the first match, he then huffed and puffed his way to a 35-ball 30 vs Karachi. Eyes will be on how he fares today.
- Sarfaraz Ahmed was excellent in PSL 2021 (321 runs, avg. 45.85, SR 137.76), but has a poor record vs Multan Sultans. In five innings against them, he has scored 60 runs at an average of 15.00 and strike rate of 89.55.
- What a performance it was from Naseem Shah a couple of days ago vs Karachi. The pacer demolished Babar Azam’s team, taking 5/20. He took 1/45 in his only match vs Multan so far, back in 2020.
- James Faulkner, who took 13 wickets in six matches in the UAE leg of PSL 2021, has taken two wickets in two matches so far this season. He will be crucial in the powerplay overs.
- Mohammad Nawaz has seven wickets in seven matches vs Multan at an economy rate of under seven runs per over.
Multan Sultans:
- Shan Masood was outstanding in Sultans’ 200+ chase vs Lahore. His 50-ball 83 led the charge, and he scored 73 off 42 balls in his last match against Quetta.
- Mohammad Rizwan, who scored more than 2,000 T20 runs in 2021, has struck two half-centuries in two matches in PSL 2022. The star keeper-batsman has struck 169 runs vs Quetta at an average of 42.25, including 66 off 50 balls on this ground last season.
- Sohaib Maqsood was player of the tournament in PSL 2021, but scored just 5 and 2 against Quetta last season. He has struck 60 runs vs Quetta since 2017 at an average of 20, and the strike rate of 90 is well below his usual. Can he turn these numbers around today?
- Khushdil Shah produced an excellent all-round display last match vs Lahore, taking 1/14 with the ball and smashing a match-winning 18* off four balls with the bat. He has scored just 45 runs in five innings vs Quetta at an average of 11.25.
- Imran Tahir (3/16 and 1/32) has made a superb start to PSL 2022. Also, the leg-spinner has a brilliant record for Sultans against Quetta, with 11 wickets in just five matches at an average of 9.64 and economy rate of 6.36, including 2/29 and 3/7 last year.
- Shahnawaz Dahani took 20 wickets last season, of which four came against Quetta in two matches (1/14 and 3/44).
