REN vs SIX Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2021/22 Match 45 | REN vs SIX Dream11 Prediction Today | Renegades vs Sixers Key Players | Geelong Pitch Report

Two sides at different points in the BBL 11 table do battle in a crucial game in Geelong.

On paper, it might seem a mismatch, but the Sydney Sixers need a lift. They have lost their past two matches – both to the Scorchers – and have dropped to third place as a result of Sydney Thunder’s superb form. Moises Henriques’ team have won six and lost three, but have found themselves in challenging positions throughout the season before turning things around and grabbing victories.

Now, with the playoffs approaching, the Sixers will want to nail their performances starting with Melbourne Renegades. Renegades have been awful this season, benefitting greatly from severely depleted Stars and Heat teams in recent times that makes up two of their three victories this season. A win here will send a message to the rest of the competition, but if they perform as they did vs Thunder, no other team will take notice.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Melbourne Renegades:

  • Cometh the hour, cometh Aaron Finch. The Australia limited overs captain has the most runs in Renegades-Sixers matches with 379 runs in 10 matches at an average of 37.90 and strike rate of 135.36. This includes a century.
  • Shaun Marsh has a strong record vs Sixers. The veteran has struck 308 runs in eight matches against them at an average of 44.00, including 120 runs in three innings for the Renegades.
  • Marsh struck 57 on this ground earlier this season, albeit against a weakened Heat team. He will be key today.
  • Mackenzie Harvey remains the Renegades’ top scorer this season, with 216 runs in nine innings at an average of 30.85 and strike rate of 115.50. He has struck 40 runs in his three innings vs Sixers at an average of 20.00.
  • Kane Richardson is just two wickets behind AJ Tye as the BBL 11’s leading wicket-taker. He has taken 16 wickets in nine matches this season at an average of 16.43 and economy rate of 8.48.
  • Richardson has taken nine wickets in eight matches vs Sixers since 2018 (avg. 24.22, econ. 6.81).
  • Leg-spinner Cameron Boyce is set to return. Can he make an immediate impact? He has just the four wickets in five matches vs Sixers (avg. 38.25, econ. 8.05), so he will be aiming to improve on this today.

Sydney Sixers:

  • Josh Philippe has scored just 68 runs in his last five innings, but today is a great opportunity to make a return to form. He loves playing the Renegades, as he as ammassed 329 runs in seven innings at an average of 47.00 and strike rate of 147.53. This is the most runs of any Sixers player against Renegades.
  • Moises Henriques is next with 277 runs at an average of 27.70 and strike rate of 125.34. Like Philippe, Henriques will be looking to get back to his best form after scores of 29, 28, 10, 15 and 5 in his last five matches.
  • Jordan Silk smashed 45* (19) and 31 (23) vs Renegades last season, part of 217 runs in 10 innings against them at an average of 36.17 and strike rate of 122.60.
  • Dan Christian is in terrific touch. The veteran has made scores of 41* (17), 2 (7), 73 (61) and 35* (20) in his last four knocks.
  • Overall, Christian has a poor career record vs Renegades (147 runs, avg. 16.33, SR 128.95), but he has what it takes to turn this around. He also has eight wickets in 11 career matches vs Renegades.
  • Hayden Kerr continues to impress. The left-armer has taken the most wickets for the Sixers this season, with 16 scalps in nine innings at an average of 11.00 and strike rate of 9.3.
  • Fellow left-arm seamer Ben Dwarshuis is one to watch today. He has the most wickets in Renegades-Sixers matches, with an impressive haul of 14 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 20.93 and strike rate of 8.03.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 15, Renegades 5, Sixers 9, N/R 1.
  • The last match between the two teams was washed out in Coffs Harbour earlier this season.
  • Renegades need Nic Maddinson to fire. He averages just 13.40 in five innings vs Sydney Sixers.
  • Sam Harper vs Sydney Sixers: 6 inns, 131 runs, avg. 21.83, SR 155.95.
  • Sydney Sixers smashed Melbourne Renegades by 145 runs last season. The next meeting was more competitive, with the Sixers winning with two wickets and one ball to spare.

Possible Playing 11

Melbourne Renegades have named their squad. Cameron Boyce is available for the first time this season after recovering from a troublesome calf injury.

Melbourne Renegades: 1. Aaron Finch, 2. Sam Harper (wk), 3. Shaun Marsh, 4. Nic Maddinson (c), 5. Mackenzie Harvey, 6. Jake Fraser-McGurk, 7. Will Sutherland, 8. Kane Richardson, 9. Josh Lalor, 10. Cameron Boyce, 11. Zahir Khan

Sydney Sixers have also named their squad. They should have a settled XI despite two straight defeats.

Sydney Sixers: 1. Josh Philippe (wk), 2. Justin Avendano, 3. Jack Edwards, 4. Moises Henriques (c), 5. Jordan Silk, 6. Dan Christian, 7. Shadab Khan, 8. Hayden Kerr, 9. Ben Dwarshuis, 10. Jackson Bird/Sean Abbott, 11. Todd Murphy

GMBHA Stadium Geelong Pitch Report and Weather

Melbourne Renegades restricted Brisbane Heat to 128/6 on this ground, before chasing the target with a huge five overs to spare. Shaun Marsh was player of the match with 57 on a pretty true batting surface.

However, that Heat side was decimated by COVID-19. Expect a good batting surface once again on a ground where the Heat scored 192 two seasons ago before bowling the Renegades out for just 91.

The weather should be fine and clear.
