SL vs AUS 3rd ODI Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report | SL vs AUS 3rd ODI Dream11 Prediction Today | Sri Lanka vs Australia 3rd ODI Key Players | Colombo Pitch Report
The Lions are roaring. Since the heavy defeat in the first T20I, Sri Lanka have played some excellent cricket, with two narrow defeats (one in the T20Is and one in the ODIs) and two morale-boosting victories.
The latest was an excellent 26-run win orchestrated by a brilliant bowling effort where they never let Australia get away. It was all the more impressive considering they were without Wanindu Hasaranga, with Chamika Karunaratne and youngster Dunith Wellalage stepping up in his absence.
Now, with Hasaranga out for the rest of the series, Sri Lanka will need another big effort, this time in Colombo. Another big, raucous crowd is likely to greet them again, as Australia will have to overcome their latest collapse in Asia to reclaim their series lead. The loss of regular wickets – which has hampered Aaron Finch’s team in this series to date – is an area they would like to improve in, especially given their batting lineup looks quite balanced on paper in these conditions.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Sri Lanka:
- Kusal Mendis was looking in promising touch again in the second ODI, before getting out for 36. He has a good record against Australia in ODIs: 326 runs at an average of 46.57.
- Mendis has hit three fifties in eight matches vs Australia, including 86* in the first ODI.
- Charith Asalanka enjoys batting at the R Premadasa Oval in Colombo. The left-hander has scored three half-centuries in six ODIs on this ground, with a total of 323 runs at an average of 53.83.
- Dhananjaya de Silva can influence this game with bat and ball. He scored 31 and took 2/26 in the second ODI. He dismissed both Australia openers.
- Chamika Karunaratne was player of the match in the second ODI. He took 3/47 which included the key scalp of Glenn Maxwell. Bowling into the Colombo pitch will be key, and Karunaratne can exploit that.
- Watch out for talented youngster Dunith Wellalage. He has taken four wickets in two matches this series, and scored a vital 20 (35) in the second ODI.
Australia:
- David Warner is yet to fire this series, although he did look in promising touch in the second ODI (37 off 51 balls). He made scores of just 8 and 1 on this ground in 2016, so he will be aiming for better returns.
- Warner vs SL in ODIs: 19 inns, 661 runs, avg. 34.78, SR 82.41.
- Aaron Finch averages 40 in ten ODIs vs Sri Lanka (400 runs). The skipper has looked in decent touch on this tour without going on to make the big score yet. He made scores of 56 and 4 on this ground in 2016.
- Steve Smith enjoyed success at Colombo in 2016. He scored 58 and 30 in the two ODIs of that series. Also, Smith has looked in decent touch in this campaign with scores of 53 and 28.
- Glenn Maxwell is in magnificent touch. He scored a memorable 80* off 51 balls in the first ODI and was threatening to go big again in the second (30 off 25). He was also excellent with the ball last game (2/35) and will have a key role again on what could be a turning pitch.
- Matt Kuhnemann was impressive on ODI debut (2/48). Sri Lanka have a number of right-handers in their lineup, so Kuhnemann will have an important role to play.
- Pat Cummins had a tough first ODI but bounced back like the champion he is. He took 4/35 in the second match.
