The 55th match of IPL 2025 is a crucial one for Delhi Capitals (DC). Axar Patel’s team has been on the slide, losing four of their past six matches to sit in fifth. They need to get back on track, and they have an opportunity to do so against struggling Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

SRH’s flaws were exposed once again in their latest defeat. Gujarat Titans (GT) put their misfiring attack to the sword, which left the batters with too much to do. Travis Head is yet to find his best form, while the middle order has only shown glimpses of promise.

SRH crawled to 143/8 in their last match on this ground on April 24. They were exposed in the powerplay before Heinrich Klaasen led a recovery. However, it was nowhere near enough on a good batting pitch.

SRH have struggled against good bowling attacks batting first, scoring 152/8 against GT and the 143 vs MI. This could be template for DC as well as SRH – bowl first and chase well with dew a possibility.

• Faf du Plessis found some form against KKR (62 off 45 balls). He can take advantage of a struggling SRH attack here. du Plessis struck 50 off 27 balls against SRH earlier this season.

• Axar Patel has taken four wickets in his past two games. Also, the DC captain has made four 30+ scores in his past five matches, including a 23-ball 43 last game vs KKR.

• Mitchell Starc took 5/35 against SRH earlier this season. He also has a dominant head-to-head record against Travis Head.
• Pat Cummins is still searching for his best form, but he offers fantasy value as he can contribute with the bat as well given SRH’s batting struggles. Keep in mind that Cummins has just three wickets on this ground this season at an average of 62.00 and economy of 10.53.

• Vipraj Nigam can offer value with both bat and ball, although this ground is not too spinner-friendly. The all-rounder took 2/41 and scored 38 in the last game vs KKR.
• Harshal Patel is SRH’s top wicket-taker this season with 13. Seven of those have come in Hyderabad where he striking every 11.14 balls.
• Aniket Verma can be a handy differential pick. Verma performed well against DC earlier this season, smashing 74 off 41 balls.
