STA vs THU Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2022/23 Match 56 | MS vs ST Dream11 Prediction Today | MCG Pitch Report

These two teams played the first game of the season, and now they will play the last before the playoffs.

And it’s a crucial one.

Despite a very up and down season, with their latest effort a shocker against the Sixers, Sydney Thunder can qualify for the playoffs with victory here (if Hurricanes beat Heat earlier in the day). But, that is not a certainty given their struggles with the bat for a large chunk of the season, and Melbourne Stars will be aiming to play spoilsport after a few promising performances in recent games.

So, which Thunder will show up? The one that has got rolled for 15 and 62 or the one who scored one of the highest totals in BBL history?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Melbourne Stars:

  • Marcus Stoinis has scored the most runs in Stars-Thunder matches (403) at an average of 33.58 and strike rate of 130.42.
  • Stoinis has struck scores of 74, 6, 52 and 36* in his past four matches in BBL 12.
  • Joe Clarke is the Stars’ leading run-scorer in this BBL (377) at an average of 31.41. He has hit one fifty and one century this season; can he finish on a high?
  • Stars may be tempted to bat Nick Larkin at three. He has an excellent record against Thunder: 321 runs, avg. 64.20, SR 130.49.
  • Luke Wood (19 wickets) is striking every 15.5 deliveries in BBL 12. Liam Hatcher had a tough outing last game vs Heat (0/54), but took 11 wickets in his previous five matches.
  • Adam Zampa has a good record against Sydney Thunder (13 inns, 19 wickets, avg. 19.32, econ. 7.49). He also loves bowling at the MCG, with 49 wickets in 36 innings at an average of 19.06 and economy of 6.81.

Sydney Thunder:

  • Alex Ross vs Melbourne Stars since January 2020: 7 inns, 238 runs, avg. 59.50, SR 136.78.
