Sydney Sixers vs Hobart Hurricanes Preview Dream11 Prediction
It is surely now confirmed. Beat Hobart Hurricanes, and you can consider yourself a serious contender for the BBL08 Title.
That’s the huge task ahead of Sydney Sixers today. They bounced back beautifully against Brisbane Heat, thrashing them with ease after they were thrashed by Melbourne Renegades a few days earlier. However, the Sixers should feel they can go to another level, and they have no choice but to tonight, facing a side that is absolutely flying.
Hobart Hurricanes are indeed flying. They absolutely humiliated Adelaide Strikers, the defending champions, on their own turf, and that too after a tough away trip to Perth. Another challenging road trip awaits with the Sixers capable of turning it on, but confidence is sky high in the Hurricanes camp right now, and they have the chance to all but confirm their appearance in the BBL08 semi finals with games to spare.

Key to a Sydney Sixers win
James Vince and Jordan Silk fired nicely against the Heat, but the Sixers need more from skipper Moises Henriques, who continues to underwhelm. A total of 177 on the back of two strong individual efforts against Brisbane Heat is often enough given the Heat’s top heavy lineup, but a more collective batting display is crucial against a Hurricanes side that possesses in form opening and middle order batsmen. Daniel Hughes will be key to delivering a strong start, along with Vince, Henriques and Silk, to ensure that the batting powerplay problems of BBL08 don’t reappear for the Sixers.
Also, can the Sixers attack get the better of the Hurricanes’ top order? They were excellent in bowling the Heat out for less than 100, but a tougher test awaits, with the Hurricanes in tremendous form. Sean Abbott and Tom Curran were strong against the Heat, and will be two crucial bowlers in keeping the pressure on the Hurricanes lineup, along with spinners Steve O’Keefe and Lloyd Pope. If the Sixers can outplay the Hurricanes in the powerplay overs, it just might be their night.
Key to a Hobart Hurricanes win
Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short flicked Adelaide Strikers aside as if they were nothing. Coming off an incredible win against the defending champions, the challenge for the Hurricanes will be to back up well just 48 hours later, in a string of away games that also included Perth last Friday evening. Wade and Short will be key in keeping a good Sixers attack at bay, creating a platform for the likes of Ben McDermott and George Bailey to pounce. The Hurricanes have the chance to pile the pressure on the Sixers, and a strong batting effort is a good avenue to success.
Also, the return to form of Jofra Archer would have been pleasing to all associated with the Hurricanes. He was excellent against the Strikers, and will be required to lead the way again against a side that has tended to lose early wickets in BBL08. Along with Riley Meredith and James Faulkner, the Hurricanes possess a pace attack that has the potential to re-open the Sixers’ powerplay wounds, and if they can, another victory is just about all but confirmed.
