Twitter reactions to England’s terrific chase in 2nd ODI | Fans react to England’s breathtaking batting display vs India to level series

Three days after an incredible collapse, England’s terrific chase showcased how they can turn it on so quickly so soon after a setback. Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes produced an incredible partnership, executing such terrific hitting that it can be easy to forget just how good India’s finishing was courtesy of Rishabh Pant.

Bairstow and Stokes combined for 175 runs 18.5 overs to make India’s score of 337 look like child’s play in the end. Stokes was particularly damaging, going from 50 to 93 in the space of just nine balls, which complimented the consistent Jonny Bairstow perfectly.

And it is reflective of Eoin Morgan’s England given that last game’s collapse didn’t affect them at all. One game later, England, who were missing Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings, went in with a free mindset once again and it worked wonders.

As a result, they leveled the series at 1-1. They now have the chance to leave India with a series victory after going down in both the T20Is and Tests, and given the batting power in their ranks, they’ll back their chances in what promises to be a brilliant third ODI.

Here are the Twitter reactions from England’s excellent series-leveling win.
