Twitter reactions to Melbourne Renegades’ 60 all-out | Melbourne Renegades suffer the biggest loss in BBL history – 145 runs
Melbourne Renegades have gone from heaven to hell in the space of 24 hours. After a dominant seven-wicket win over Perth Scorchers, who are one of the favourites for the BBL 10 Title, the Renegades produced arguably the worst performance by any team in BBL history the next day vs Sydney Sixers.
In fact, the 145-run defeat was the biggest defeat for any team in the history of BBL cricket, beating their own record of 112 runs against the Stars in 2015. The only silver lining is that they crossed their lowest total of 57 courtesy of a Kane Richardson six, but that takes little away from what was a terrible performance from Aaron Finch’s team.
Here are the Twitter reactions from the record-breaking defeat:
Renegades 60 all-out: A capitulation
Renegades’ bowling was almost just as bad
Before their batting capitulation, the Renegades produced an awful bowling performance, offering a buffet of pies that the Sixers’ batsmen feasted on. Josh Philippe narrowly missed out on the Sixers’ first ever BBL century, and Jordan Silk was mistaken for peak AB de Villiers, such was the poor standard of bowling by the Renegades tonight.
The Renegades have five days to recover from this awful defeat. They will face the Hobart Hurricanes on the 19th of December, and will be after a much better display.
