• Watch out for Vriitya Aravind. The keeper-batsman’s 407 runs this year come at a strike rate of 140.83.
• Skipper Chundangapoyil Rizwan was UAE’s leading run-scorer in their recent two-match series against Bangladesh (56). This included a half century (51*) off just 36 balls.
• Legspinner Karthik Meiyappan is UAE’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is this year: 9 inns, 13 wickets, avg. 15.69, econ. 7.03. Netherlands’ tendency to lose wickets to spin at times makes Meiyappan a key factor to UAE’s hopes today.

• Bas de Leede is a key player for Netherlands in this tournament. He has scored 289 runs in seven T20Is in 2022 at an average of 72.25 and strike rate of 122.97. This includes three fifties.
• de Leede has also taken ten wickets at an economy of just 5.63.
• Tom Cooper is striking at 148.00 in seven T20Is this year. Colin Ackermann has also made an impact, with the all-rounder enjoying a good 2022 Vitality Blast campaign: 14 inns, 367 runs, avg. 30.58, SR 133.94.
