WI vs BAN 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report | WI vs BAN 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | West Indies vs Bangladesh 1st T20I Key Players | Dominica Pitch Report
In what is a regular occurrence, West Indies smashed Bangladesh in a Test series on home soil. Now with those formalities out of the way, attention moves to the T20I series as both sides aim to solidify their preparations for the T20 World Cup.
It will be interesting to see what conditions are on offer at Windsor Park in Dominica. This will be the first T20 on the ground since West Indies beat New Zealand way back in 2014, and more famously, the venue of Shannon Gabriel’s infamous brainsnap against Pakistan.
If there is spin on offer, Bangladesh are well equipped to take advantage with a number of capable spinners in their lineup. However, their batting, which was so poor in last year’s World Cup, is an area they need to get right if they are to be competitive in this year’s edition.
For West Indies, it’s all about confidence. A number of inexperienced players will hold the baton of their T20 fortunes going forward, after their experienced legends were unable to get the job done in 2021.

- It’s a big series for Rovman Powell. He showed some terrific form in the IPL earlier this year, where he struck 250 runs at a strike rate of 149.70.
- Odean Smith is one to watch with both bat and ball. He will be better for the experience in the IPL, where he produced some notable performances including 25* (8) vs RCB and 4/30 vs MI.
- Akeal Hosein will be a handful if the pitch suits spinners. He has taken 13 wickets in his past six internationals. Also, he has gone wicketless in just three of his past 14 T20Is.
Bangladesh:
- Shakib Al Hasan has enjoyed success in the West Indies, including the Caribbean Premier League. Shakib scored the most runs in the BAN-WI series in 2018 (104) and also took three wickets in as many matches.
- Mahmudullah has the most runs of any player in BAN-WI T20Is: 10 inns, 263 runs, avg. 52.60, SR 126.44.
- Liton Das has been a shining light for Bangladesh in recent times. Also, he has strong numbers vs West Indies in T20Is: 7 inns, 239 runs, avg. 34.14, SR 144.84.
- Nasum Ahmed, in the past 12 months, has taken 35 wickets at an average of 17.45 and economy rate of 6.07. He has been particularly strong on turning pitches.
- Mustafizur Rahman has the second-most wickets in BAN-WI T20Is (15) behind Shakib (19). The Fizz takes a wicket every 8.8 deliveries against the Windies on average.

Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica Pitch Report and Weather
The last T20I on this ground was back in 2014. New Zealand and West Indies won a game each in two matches of that series, with spin playing a key role.
There is rain forecast throughout the afternoon and evening in Dominica. Hopefully there should be less rain in the evening.
