WI-W vs SA-W 1st T20 Dream11 & Fan2Play Prediction Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | WI-W vs SA-W Dream11 Prediction Today | West Indies Women vs South Africa Women Key Players | Antigua Pitch Report
At the same time as an important CPL tournament is taking place, an important T20I bilateral series also takes place.
West Indies, coming off a successful series against Pakistan, will be looking to continue the momentum here. However, they will be missing star player Stafanie Taylor due to being a close COVID-19 contact, which is certainly a blow. As a result, Anisa Mohammed will lead the side, and the likes of Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews must step up.
The Windies have a fine record against South Africa. However, this South Africa side has come leaps and bounds in recent years. A number of their players were successful in the recent Hundred, and they welcome back skipper Dane van Niekerk after missing their successful tour of India.
An interesting match ahead.
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
West Indies:
- In the absence of Taylor, Hayley Matthews will have an even more important role to play. She has struggled against South Africa in the past (8 inns, 143 runs, avg. 17.88, SR 105.93), so West Indies will be hoping she can turn these numbers around.
- Matthews had an excellent Hundred campaign recently, with 221 runs in eight matches at an average of 31.75 and strike rate of 119.45.
- Deandra Dottin has an outstanding record against South Africa. No player has more runs in WI-SA T20Is than the talented all-rounder, at a superb average and strike rate (440, avg. 40.00, SR 150.68). She also has four wickets in eight innings against them.
- Kycia Knight scored the most runs in West Indies’ recent T20I series vs Pakistan (69, avg. 34.50). She has experience against South Africa (nine matches), with 95 runs at 23.75, but will be aiming to improve her strike rate of 77.24.
- Skipper Anisa Mohammed will be key in limiting the excellent South Africa batting lineup. She has taken 21 wickets in 15 matches against them at an average of 15.19.
- Shamilia Connell has taken six wickets in seven matches vs South Africa, at a fine economy rate of 4.78. Can she build on her wickets tally?
South Africa:
- Welcome back to international cricket, Dane van Niekerk. The South Africa skipper is coming off an incredible Hundred campaign, top-scoring with 259 runs at an average of 43.16. She also took eight wickets.
- van Niekerk will be looking to improve on her numbers vs West Indies. In 12 innings against them, she has struck just 165 runs at an average/strike rate of 15.00/76.04.
- Mignon du Preez has the most runs of any South Africa player vs West Indies. However, like van Niekerk, du Preez will be aiming to improve on her average of 18.13.
- Lizelle Lee has the next most runs for South Africa against West Indies. Her 197 runs come at a decent average of 28.14 and strike rate of 110.06. Also, Lee is coming off a fine Hundred campaign, where she scored 215 runs at an average of 43.00 and strike rate of 124.27.
- Marizanne Kapp also had a fine Hundred campaign, with 150 runs (avg. 37.50) and 11 wickets (avg. 6.36) in five matches. Like her teammates, she will be aiming for a big performance against West Indies, as she averages just 14.83 in 13 innings (178 runs), as well as just the four wickets in nine innings.
- Laura Wolvaardt is enjoying a fine 2021. In addition to 90 runs at 45.00 in T20Is this year, Wolvaardt scored 181 runs at 36.20 in the recent Hundred. Also, Wolvaardt has scored 94 runs in four matches vs West Indies at an average of 31.33.
- Shabnim Ismail is one to watch, as always. The classy South Africa pacer has taken 13 wickets in 10 matches vs West Indies. van Niekerk has the next-most wickets for South Africa vs West Indies with nine scalps.

West Indies have a great record vs South Africa, but the rise of South Africa and absence of Stafanie Taylor puts the tourists in the drivers’ seat.
