3 Key Tips for Dream11 Grand League | Dream11 Grand League Tips | Dream11 GL Tips and Tricks | How to win Dream11 GL
Every fantasy player on Dream11 wants to win a Grand League at least once.
However, it’s very difficult with the competition on the platform, as Dream11 has 7+ crore users.
So, we’ll share some tips that’ll go a long way to helping you win Grand League (GL) on Dream11.
Picking the Right Match
One of the most important things for winning a GL is picking the right match/tournament. By picking the right match, we mean that you should have knowledge about all the players, rules and everything regarding that match/tournament.
The tournaments can be divided into three categories and every tournament needs a little different type of preparation:
- Highly Popular: IPL and international matches. These matches are highly popular and need detailed research like stats for ground, player-matchups, etc.
- Medium to Highly Popular: Leagues consisting of the combination of local talent and international players. Keeping the record of international players in such leagues can be beneficial. Examples of such leagues include BBL, MSL, T20 Blast, CPL, etc.
- Local Leagues: These leagues only comprise of local players. You have a good chance to win GL in these leagues as many people don’t have great knowledge about these leagues. This includes leagues like Ranji, Momentum ODI Cup, JLT ODI Cup, TNPL and RamSlam T20.
As a minimum, you should search about players form + record, as well as the home and away matches record.
Research
This is the most important thing in fantasy sports. Research provides you a strong reason to back your decision/selected players rather than depending too much on luck.
Peeyush Sharma is India’s first Fantasy Expert and Presenter & Analyst for Dream11, Fancode, Star Sports India, Jio Cinema and VUSport. He says says research is very important and there should be no shortcuts in this area.
Speaking on the Dream11 YouTube channel after winning Grand League, Peeyush said, “if you can research well, if you can create your team well, you can easily win. It’s ultimately the team that wins.”
On what should you research:
- Venue Records: Average total; first and second innings record, bowling type assistance (i.e. pace or spin pitch) and boundary size
- Player records at the ground
- Teams winning records batting first vs. chasing
- Player-matchups
- Weather forecast
Also, you should keep in mind the player’s role, for example:
- His/her batting position
- How many overs he/she will likely bowl
- Exact roles of all-rounders
- Favorite ground/team
- Batting position if shuffle happens
- A number of left-handed and right-handed batters to decide which bowler to select.
CricBlog’s Match Previews provide a range of key stats and numbers that can help you shape your team.
Creating Your Team
So after you’ve selected your match and done enough research, now is the time to create your teams for Grand League.
Key tip: You should create multiple teams to increase your chances of winning. Note: Dream11 has increased their team’s limit from six to 11.
Keep a score of 5-6 players in each team. Rotate 3-4 players who you think can perform and pick 2-3 players as punt picks and rotate them with obvious C and VC choices.
One more out of the box and a little superstitious observation is that players tend to perform on their or their wife’s birthday or on their marriage anniversary or something like that. So keep that in mind!
