Below is the audio and transcript of our interview with Fatima Sana Khan.
Q: So talk to us about today. Has it given you the excitement to know that, you know, there’s a bit of a buzz being created? The World Cup is just a few days away now.
Fatima Sana: I think the way ICC organised this event, that is awesome because the crowd is here, the game is here, and the environment is here. So I think I really enjoyed it.
Q: And it seems that all the captains have quite a good friendly relationship. I know you’ve got a very good relationship with [Nigar Sultana] Joty in particular. Can you talk about about that?
Fatima Sana: I think when we guys are playing each other, obviously the rivalry was there, but except the field, we [Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty] are very good friends and she’s like my sister because I always trying to tease her and she’s very good at that time.
Q: And in terms of Pakistan’s preparations going into the World Cup, I know you were in the tri-series in in Ireland. How do you feel your preparations?
Fatima Sana: I think preparation was good because everyone is very confident about the execution and they know what to do. So I think as a whole unit, we are very hopeful for the event.
Q: In terms of your personal ambitions and targets, do you have a personal target? You want to score X number of runs or so many wickets?
Fatima Sana: Just trying to take our team to the top 4, that’s the main goal!
Pakistan are in Group 1 and kick off their campaign with a showdown against India in Birmingham on June 14.
