Ashes 2023 ENG vs AUS 3rd Test Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report | Ashes 2023 2nd Test Dream11 Prediction Today | Headingley Pitch Report
It’s been all about the “spirit of cricket” in recent days. Now, attention must turn to the cricket itself. That is especially the case for England after feeling hard done by with regards to the Jonny Bairstow dismissal, but must win this Test much to keep their hopes of regaining the Ashes alive.
Truth be told, England were well under par at Lord’s. They were blessed with conditions in their favour for most of the game, but were unable to capitalise due to poor bowling on day one, brainless batting on days two and three, and further poor cricket in the second innings.
At Headingley, there is no room for error against an Australia team that is going about its business quietly. That includes staying in your crease until the ball is dead. Combine this with the fact that the Bazball style of play is a high risk for reward strategy, and the hosts find themselves in a difficult predicament indeed.
However, Australia need not take anything for granted. On the same ground where Ben Stokes was the architect of one of the all-time great wins, victory for England here will only increase the noise and belief among the public that this team on its way back. So the focus for the team, in the great Steve Smith’s 100th Test match, is for another efficient display to kill off the series in what will surely be an intense and raucous atmosphere.
Eyes will be on the opening combination of Warner and Khawaja as they look to enjoy another solid Test. Also, can Marnus Labuschagne get a foothold in the series? Will Smith and Travis Head hurt England again? And, importantly, how well will the attack keep England at bay?
