BAN vs NZ 4th T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | BAN vs NZ 4th T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | Bangladesh vs New Zealand 4th T20I Key Players | Dhaka Pitch Report

This series, which threatened to be one-sided after Bangladesh rolled New Zealand for 60, has taken an interesting turn. After a competitive showing in the second T20I, an inexperienced Black Caps side then returned serve to knock Bangladesh over for 76 and keep the series alive in the process.

The way New Zealand have adjusted to these conditions is cause for optimism from their perspective. Such conditions bring their spinners into the game, and the Bangladeshi batsmen have struggled for fluency across these three matches, which adds another little narrative to the Black Caps’ quest for an extraordinary series win.

Bangladesh remain favourites, but need an improvement. It is difficult to get a gauge on their T20 game given the conditions in Bangladesh will be different to Oman and UAE. However, confidence is key, and they will want to enter the T20 World Cup on the back of a comprehensive series victory over this inexperienced New Zealand team.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Bangladesh:

  • Shakib Al Hasan’s shot selection is in focus. He has been dismissed in poor fashion in the past two matches, and his team needs him to lead the way. His duck in the last game was his first single-digit score in his last eight T20Is on challenging pitches (36, 26, 26, 15, 11, 25, 12, 0).
  • Shakib also went wicketless on Sunday. The last time he went wicketless (0/50 vs Australia), Shakib then bounced back to take 4/9 in the next game.
  • Mohammad Naim has made four double-figure scores in his last five innings, with a top score of 39 in this period. Bangladesh will be hoping he can make another start and this time cross the 50 mark.
  • Mahmudullah produced a player of the match performance two games ago, and Bangladesh will be hoping their captain can produce a good display here. No player has more T20I runs on this ground than Mahmudullah (28 inns, 622 runs, avg. 41.46, SR 124.15).
  • New Zealand have dealt with Mustafizur Rahman in decent fashion since he took three wickets in the first T20I. The Fizz has taken just 1/63 combined in the last two matches, and will be looking for a big performance. He has 92 wickets in 66 T20s on this ground.
  • Mahedi Hasan has gone wicketless just twice in his last nine T20Is.

New Zealand:

  • Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls will be key once again thanks to their international experience and ability to play spin well. Latham was out cheaply in the third T20I (5), but sent a reminder of his ability in the second match (65*). Nicholls is coming off a 29-ball 36* in the last match.
  • Finn Allen looked threatening with three fours in the last match, only to give his wicket away. Will Young (half-century vs Bangladesh earlier this year and 20 in the last game) will also be looking to build on Sunday’s performance.
  • Rachin Ravindra has taken five wickets this series at an economy rate of just 4.66. He will also be looking to build on his start in the third T20I (20 off 20 balls).
  • Ajaz Patel was player of the match in a dominant display in the third T20I. His 4/16 completely dismanted Bangladesh, and took him to top of the wicket-taking chart this series (six wickets, econ. 3.58). He will be key again.
  • Cole McConchie has conceded runs at just 4.83 runs per over in this series. He is coming off a fine spell of 3/15 in the last match, where Bangladesh couldn’t get a hold of him.

Stats and Facts

  • Bangladesh have the opportunity to win their third-straight T20I series. They have never achieved this before.
  • All five of Bangladesh’s lowest T20I scores have come against New Zealand, including two scores of 76 this year.
  • Henry Nicholls and Tom Blundell put on a stand of 66 runs in the third T20I, which is the highest sixth-wicket partnership for New Zealand against Bangladesh.
  • Liton Das has made starts in this series, and will be looking to play more sensibly in this clash. “If I could have done the same in the third game – be a little more sensible – it might have been easy for us. I will try to play a bigger innings at my next opportunity,” said Liton.

Possible Playing 11

Bangladesh are likely to stick with the same XI despite the defeat, unless the look to play left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam. They could send Shakib back up to three – the position he is most comfortable in.

Bangladesh: 1. Mohammad Naim, 2. Liton Das, 3. Shakib Al Hasan, 4. Mushfiqur Rahim, 5 Mahmudullah (c), 6 Nurul Hasan (wk), 7 Afif Hossain, 8 Mahedi Hasan, 9 Mohammad Saifuddin, 10 Mustafizur Rahman, 11 Nasum Ahmed

New Zealand could look to go in with the same XI, depending on Scott Kuggeleijn’s fitness.

New Zealand: 1. Rachin Ravindra, 2. Finn Allen, 3. Will Young, 4. Tom Latham (c & wk), 5. Colin de Grandhomme, 6. Henry Nicholls, 7. Tom Blundell, 8. Cole McConchie, 9. Ajaz Patel, 10. Scott Kuggeleijn, 11. Jacob Duffy

Shere Bangla Stadium Mirpur Dhaka Pitch Report and Weather

More slow, low conditions and turn for the spinners is on the menu. The team batting first has won eight of the last 11 matches on this ground, including the last two in this series. Any score in the region of 130 will be tough to chase.

There is a chance of rain falling throughout the match.

Match Prediction

Bangladesh start as favourites, but an easy win is not a sure thing. Batting first is crucial and any score in the region of 130-140 will be a very tough chase.
