BBL 10 Match 10: HUR vs REN Preview Dream11 Possible 11 Pitch Report | HUR vs REN Dream11 Prediction Today | Hurricanes vs Renegades Key Players | Bellerive Oval Pitch Report
After a break of a couple of days, the Big Bash League is back as the Melbourne Renegades meet the home side, Hobart Hurricanes, at the Bellerive Oval as both the teams aim to return back to winning ways after defeats in their previous games.
Hobart Hurricanes began the tournament with victories over Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers at the very same venue of Bellerive Oval. In the following game, which was a reverse fixture against the Strikers, the Hobart Hurricanes lost by a margin of 5 wickets as Peter Siddle picked a 5-wicket haul while Weatherald and Carey scored fifties.
The Renegades were at the receiving end of the worst defeat in BBL history in the previous game as they lost by 145 runs against the Sixers. The Aaron Finch-led side were bowled out for a paltry total of 60 and they would have to forget the game as early as possible. Unfortunately, the news doesn’t get better as Aaron Finch will take a break from this game due to bubble fatigue, which increases pressure on the batsmen. Finch will be back on December 26.
The management will hope that the last defeat isn’t a start of another horrid run like the last season where they lost nine consecutive games which hampered their season. They’ll be looking to bounce back, and fast.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Hobart Hurricanes:
- Ben McDermott loves playing against the Renegades. He has struck 326 runs against them at a superb average of 108.67. He scored 51* and 38* against them last season.
- Colin Ingram has scored the most runs in the BBL so far with 123 runs in 3 innings.
- Tim David has the best strike by a Hurricanes batsman as he has scored at an SR of 168 while also averaging 51. He has scored the most runs in the death overs. Both he and Ingram have thrived against anything pitched full and the Renegades have to alter their lengths if they have to top the duo.
- D’Arcy Short has a middling record against the Renegades. Can he improve on his 142 runs at an average of 28.40? The opener has had a bit of a slow start to BBL 10 with scores of 0, 72 and 2 so far.
- Riley Meredith was player of the match vs Renegades on this ground last season. He took 3/26. Nathan Ellis also enjoyed success in the same game with 3/15.
- James Faulkner has picked 4 wickets with the new ball and has an economy rate of under 6 in the powerplay.
Melbourne Renegades:
- Shaun Marsh is also vital for the men in red. He made scores of 37 (30) and 56 (30) against the Hurricanes last season. He scored 62 against the Scorchers at Bellerive Oval earlier this season.
- Beau Webster struck a half-century in his last game against the Hurricanes, last season.
- Kane Richardson has taken six wickets in four games vs Hurricanes. Can he make inroads into the opposition top order?
- Mohammad Nabi is back, which is a huge boost for the Renegades. Nabi smashed 63 off 30 balls in his last innings against the Hurricanes.
Stats and Facts
- The head-to-head record is pretty even as the Melbourne outfit has won 6 games while their opponents have won 5. But the Hurricanes have triumphed in each of their last 3 encounters.
- Shaun Marsh is the Renegades’ leading run-scorer in BBL 10, with 75. Finch is next with 47, followed by Rilee Russouw with just 17.
- Ingram has a strike rate of just 89 in the powerplay , which zooms to 160 in the middle overs. Short has a strike rate of 186 in the middle overs.
- At the Bellerive Oval, the Renegades last won against the home side way back in December 2017.
- Both the teams are averaging around 14 against pace and that’s been their weakness so far.

Hobart Hurricanes are a more settled side than their opponents. A lot will depend on how the Renegades will come back after the humiliation they suffered against the Sixers, as Hurricanes still start favourites on this Super Saturday.
