Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat, take two.
Three days after the Heat demolished Strikers on a fine Brisbane afternoon, the action moves to Adelaide for the rematch. It is an afternoon game once again as the India vs Australia ODI takes centre stage in the evening in Australia.
AB de Villiers enjoyed a strong start to life in the BBL, after James Pattinson ripped through the Strikers. Both sides sit in the top five in the BBL09 Table, which makes this an important game for both teams to consolidate their position. Who will win?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
- James Pattinson is out with illness. It is a blow after he ripped through the Strikers with four wickets in the powerplay three days ago.
- AB de Villiers looked at ease on BBL debut. The legend hit his stride right away with superb shots through the off-side in particular.
- Chris Lynn’s struggles in run chases continued last game. He has not had a good time chasing in BBL09: 9, 6, 14, 9, 14 and 0.
- When Lynn bats first: 94 (35), 88* (55) and 31 (13).
- Matt Renshaw has 142 runs vs Strikers without being dismissed in BBL cricket. His scores: 90* (55) and 52* (45).
- Travis Head came into the last meeting with a good record vs Heat (avg. 47.40). He was out for eight, and needs to deliver in this game.
- Jake Weatherald’s last four scores in Adelaide: 83, 52, 47, 27.
- If Jono Wells scores 61 or more, he will sit second in the BBL09 run-scoring chart. He has been one of the Strikers’ most consistent.
- Josh Lalor vs Strikers: Eight wickets in four games, including 2/12 three days ago.
- Mujeeb ur Rahman was superb with his control in his first appearance in BBL09 (0/14). In terms of wickets, he took at least one wicket in eight of his last 10 Bangladesh Premier League matches recently.
- Can Rashid Khan get the better of the Heat big-hitters? He has seven wickets in four games vs Heat.
Head-to-Head
- Matches 10, Strikers 5, Heat 5.
- Heat rolled the Strikers for 110 on Tuesday.
Possible Playing 11
Brisbane Heat have named the same squad of 13. However, James Pattinson is out with illness, replaced by the fit-again Ben Laughlin.
Brisbane Heat: 1. Max Bryant, 2. Chris Lynn (c), 3. Matt Renshaw, 4. AB de Villiers, 5. Joe Burns, 6. Ben Cutting, 7. Jimmy Peirson (wk), 8. Josh Lalor, 9. Mitch Swepson, 10. James Pattinson, 11. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman
Adelaide Strikers have also named the same 13-man squad. Peter Siddle is under an injury cloud after a nasty split webbing injury on his bowling hand.
Adelaide Strikers: 1. Jake Weatherald, 2. Phil Salt, 3. Travis Head (c), 4. Jono Wells, 5. Harry Nielsen (wk), 6. Matt Short, 7. Rashid Khan, 8. Michael Neser, 9. Peter Siddle, 10. Wes Agar, 11. Liam O’Connor
Adelaide Oval Pitch Report and Conditions
The Strikers struck 173/6 in their last home game. Jono Wells was man-of-the-match, striking the ball cleanly to flatten the Renegades.
Interestingly, the Adelaide track has been on the slower side in BBL09. As this is an afternoon game, a similar trend may continue.
The forecast for sunny and a temperature in the mid-20s.

Match Prediction
Adelaide Strikers will be out for a better performance after their 110-all out abomination a few days ago.
However, you feel the Heat, even if they are required to chase, are stronger with the arrival of AB de Villiers. Heat to win.
