BBL09 Match 45: SS vs MS Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | SS vs MS Dream11 | Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Stars Preview Dream11 | Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Stars Key Players | SS vs MS Dream11 Prediction Today
After Marcus Stoinis slammed the Sixers to all parts just over a week ago, Sydney Sixers have the chance to gain some revenge.
However, the batting from the men in magenta was awful on Saturday night. Part of a number of recent batting collapses by teams in BBL09, the Sixers were rolled for 76 by the Sydney Thunder. So, if the Sixers want to finish second in the table, a massive improvement is needed.
Melbourne Stars were not at their best against Perth Scorchers. But, despite their big guns not hitting full tilt, they still managed to pick up a win. It is now eight straight, and if they can pick up wins from awkward positions, it can only mean good news ahead of the playoffs.
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
- Marcus Stoinis smashed 147* off 79 vs Sixers just over a week ago. He is still far-and-away the top run-scorer in BBL09 with 523. No other player has 400.
- Glenn Maxwell has the most runs in Sixers-Stars matches (399 runs, avg. 49.88, SR: 167.65).
- Hilton Cartwright’s last four scores: 35, 59, 19, 58*. He is enjoying his role as opener.
- Josh Philippe has four single-digit scores in a row (8, 6, 7, 1). Will Monday be his day?
- Nic Maddinson returns to the SCG, where he has played plenty of BBL cricket. Also, he is coming off three wickets in the last game.
- Moises Henriques averages just 16.50 in 11 innings vs Stars. However, his highest score of 41 against them came this season.
- Before the last game where he scored 8, Daniel Hughes hit double figures in seven straight innings. However, there was no fifty, so will this be the day?
- Tom Curran was hit for 58 runs last time out vs Stars. His battle with the Stars’ big guns will make for interesting viewing.
- Jackson Coleman took 3/16 in his only appearance for Stars this season. He is in the Stars squad for this match – he took 3/18 at SCG last season.
- Ben Dwarshuis conceded 61 runs vs Stars in BBL09. However, he has 10 wickets in seven games against them, including 3/26 at SCG last season.
- Sandeep Lamichhane can be a threat at SCG: He has six wickets in three games vs Sixers.

Possible Playing 11
Sydney Sixers have stuck with an unchanged 13-man squad, following their very disappointing batting display vs Thunder.

Melbourne Stars have rested Nathan Coulter-Nile, with Jackson Coleman replacing him in the 13-man squad.
Melbourne Stars: 1. Hilton Cartwright, 2. Marcus Stoinis, 3. Nic Maddinson, 4. Nick Larkin, 5. Glenn Maxwell (c), 6. Seb Gotch (wk), 7. Clint Hinchliffe, 8. Lance Morris/Jonathan Merlo, 9. Daniel Worrall, 10. Jackson Coleman, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane
SCG Pitch Report and Conditions
The last two games in Sydney (SCG and Sydney Showground) have been affected by rain. Rain, possibly heavy, is forecast for the afternoon in Sydney, but should clear in time for this game.
In terms of the pitch, the recent rain might have added some extra life. So, there is a possibility of wickets in the powerplay thanks to some movement.

Match Prediction
Sydney Sixers are sitting well in the top five. However, their performances across games have been inconsistent.
The Stars have been consistent, picking up eight straight wins. You know what you will get from the Stars at this stage of the season compared to the up-and-down Sixers, which is why the Stars are the safer pick.
