Vijay Shankar’s form is testament to how brilliant the franchise has been, where his transformation has been a huge X-Factor for the team. It’s now or never for DC. After two straight wins, they came crashing back down to earth with a disappointing defeat against Hyderabad, despite Mitch Marsh’s magnificent all-round display. • Vijay Shankar is enjoying a wonderful season. In six innings, he has smashed 199 runs at an average of 49.75 and strike rate of 165.83, including 51* (24) in the last game against KKR.
• David Miller when chasing in the IPL since the start of 2022: 12 inns, 400 runs, avg. 200, SR 152.7.
• The great Rashid Khan (14 wickets in IPL 2023) has taken 19 wickets in 14 career matches against Delhi. He strikes every 17.68 deliveries with an economy of just 5.98.
• GT could look to use Rashid to the in-form Axar. In 23 balls, the legspinner has dismissed Patel twice for 22 runs.
• Mohammed Shami (13 wickets this season) dismissed Mitch Marsh cheaply earlier this season. He also has a good record against Manish Pandey, with total figures of 2/35 off 38 balls.

Delhi Capitals:

• David Warner is crucial to DC’s hopes. The captain has a good record against Shami in the IPL (76 balls, 107 runs, two dismissals), so a strong start is key.
• Mitch Marsh is coming off one of the great all-round displays. He took 4/27 and scored 63 (39) last game against SRH.
• Marsh has never been dismissed by Rashid Khan in T20s (33), but has scored just 31 against him.
• Axar Patel is DC’s second-highest run-scorer this season (211) behind Warner’s 305. Patel is striking at 142.56, which includes a 22-ball 36 against GT earlier in IPL 2023.
• Patel strikes at 150 against Shami (24 off 16) with one dismissal.
• Kuldeep Yadav is level with Axar and Marsh for most wickets for DC this season (7). In the IPL, Kuldeep has dismissed Vijay Shankar once in 13 balls, conceding just 13 in the process.
• Anrich Nortje has conceded just 23 off 24 balls against David Miller in T20s (one dismissal). He has also dismissed Shubman Gill twice in 21 balls (34 runs) and Wriddhiman Saha twice in nine balls (nine runs).
