The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is heating up, and it has already shown why it is the biggest T20 league in the world. Also, IPL is the biggest league in the fantasy cricket, and with Dream11 being the Title Sponsor of this year’s IPL, this edition is even bigger on the fantasy sports platform.

If you’re an IPL fantasy player, then you must have faced a situation where you were not able to pick all the players you wanted due to the credit system or some other reason. There are times when you want to pick/drop some players but you couldn’t as they might perform/fail and this can affect the performance of your team.

So, what’s the solution for this? Creating multiple teams can be an excellent solution if you are facing this issue or you like the mega contest/contests with a high number of players. You can create up to 11 teams on Dream11, which is very handy for anyone who likes to play big contests on the app. Other fantasy platforms also allow their users to create multiple teams so it is a very good option irrespective of where you like to play.

So, how do you create multiple teams and what are the benefits of creating them? Let’s talk about this in detail:

Creating Multiple Teams

There are a few things you have to keep in mind while creating your teams. Proper research about the game i.e. individual and team venue records, how the teams play against each other, player battles, etc. These are very important and a must for everyone who plays fantasy cricket. For example, if the match is played on a slow wicket, then the pacers won’t be that effective on it so you can drop a pacer whom everyone is picking and pick a spinner who can fetch you some good points in that game.

Now that you know the venue records of teams and players, you have to select the “core of your fantasy team” i.e. 5-6 players that you cannot afford to drop or are the ones who will be in everyone’s team. These players will be in most of your teams. The number of core players will depend on the teams playing and the venue. After picking your core team, you need to look at the match-ups and venue conditions (which you researched) and pick the remaining players accordingly.

Key tip: Pick different players in different teams or rotate them in different teams. Also rotate the captain and vice-captain in all of your teams. The research you did earlier will help you a lot in this. CricBlog’s match previews have everything you need to know about a particular match in Dream11. So, you can check that before every match.

Creating Multiple Teams in Dream11 helps to increase chances of winning.

For example, the KKR vs DC game in IPL 2020, everyone was picking Shubman Gill. However, Rahul Tripathi scored more points than Gill, that too at a very cheap credit price. Similarly, Harshal Patel, Anrich Nortje, Amit Mishra and Varun Chakravarthy scored more points than Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Sunil Narine and Pat Cummins. So, you can pick these types of players in some of your teams.

You can also drop some players of your core team in one or two of your Dream11 teams so that in case they fail to perform, you will have a good chance of winning with those teams.

Doing proper research, picking a core team and then picking the remaining players accordingly is how you should create multiple teams in Dream11 or any other platform instead of trying to pick everyone in all of your teams.

Advantages of Multiple Teams

Any advantages of this approach? Yes. They are must if you are playing mega contests or big contests where you are competing against a lot of players. In small leagues, you can create a backup team of your main team and invest accordingly so that if your main team fails to perform, your second team can cover up for you. Sometimes your team is good but you lose due to your Captain and Vice-captain failing to perform so with multiple teams you can make different players as your Captain and Vice-captain.

More Chances of Winning

Creating more XIs with different combinations will certainly increase your chances of winning and if you invest accordingly you will be in profit most of the time. You can cover all the important players and increase your chances of winning. You can rotate Captain and vice-captain as mentioned above so it will again increase your chances of winning, but you have to be smart while playing with multiple teams in small leagues.

You can cover up all the players and create a team for all the situations and it can be very beneficial for you, especially in big contests. You can assume how the teams can win the game and create one or two teams according to that. Research will again help you here. Looking at the strengths and weaknesses of the sides playing will also be important.

So, this was a guide as to how you can create multiple teams and be in the winning zone in Dream11 or any other fantasy sports platform.

We hope this will help you. Thanks for reading!
