Twitter reactions after Pant & Hardik lead India to series win
Here are some Twitter reactions on India’s incredible chase at Old Trafford.
Hardik Pandya wins player of the series
Whilst Pant bagged all the applause for his unbeaten century, Hardik Pandya walked away with the ‘Player of the Series’ award. Pandya scored 100 runs across two innings’ and scalped six wickets as the all-rounder capped off a near-perfect tour in some style on Sunday. He unleashed a lethal short-ball barrage to end up with figures of 7-3-24-4 to dismantle the English batting unit in the third ODI.
“It was a good pitch, but we do understand it’s not going to be easy if we lose wickets upfront. Positive side of it, these guys haven’t batted much in the middle overs. Today we got to see that with Hardik and Rishabh. At no point we felt they were panicking. They backed themselves and played cricketing shots,” skipper Rohit reflected on the middle-order’s performance in the post-match presentation.
India will now head on to the Caribbean for limited-overs series’ with a three-match ODI and T20I series beginning from 22nd July and 29th July respectively. India’s busy schedule will then take them to Zimbabwe for an ODI series in August.
