ENG vs AFG Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 13 | ENG vs AFG Dream11 Prediction Today | Delhi Pitch Report

England, who got their campaign back on track with a big win over Bangladesh, are after a similar result against winless Afghanistan.

The Afghans showed plenty of promise with the bat against India on this ground. Such a performance is cause for confidence, but how they keep a powerful England batting lineup as quiet as possible will be the biggest challenge in what has been excellent batting conditions at Delhi so far in this World Cup.

For England, Dawid Malan’s form and Reece Topley’s inclusion gives ths team an added dimension. Malan can keep things ticking and enable the others to go big in equal measure, while Topley gives England the wicket-taking threat they sorely missed in their tournament opener against New Zealand.

So, Afghanistan have their work cut out. The talent is there, but they need their big guns to deliver large. In a World Cup that needs an upset, will this be the game that delivers it?

ENG vs AFG Dream11 Prediction: Fantasy Tips

England:

  • Dawid Malan, who slammed 140 against Bangladesh, averages 63.15 in 23 ODIs. This includes 11 fifty-plus scores (five fifties, six hundreds).
  • Jonny Bairstow struck 90 (99) in the 2019 World Cup match against Afghanistan. He is a danger player on a good batting pitch.
  • Joe Root has struck two fifties in two matches in this World Cup. Also, Root hit 88 (82) against Afghanistan in the 2019 World Cup.
  • Watch out for Jos Buttler, especially if England bat first. In ODIs since the start of 2022, Buttler has struck 1,014 runs at an average of 56.33 and strike rate of 115.75.
  • Reece Topley took three powerplay wickets against Bangladesh. His height and ability to swing the ball makes him a threat early on.
  • Adil Rashid and Mark Wood picked up a wicket each in the Bangladesh game. Expect Rashid to find some spin at Delhi, while Wood can be a factor in the death overs especially.

Afghanistan:

  • Ibrahim Zadran is key for Afghanistan. Since the start of 2022, Zadran has hit 953 runs at an average of 52.94 and strike rate of 84.78.
  • Rahmanullah Gurbaz has looked good so far in this World Cup without going on to make the big score (47 and 21). Getting through the initial powerplay will be key as he can cash in later.
  • Hashmatullah Shahidi top-scored for Afghanistan on this ground against India a few days ago. The skipper hit 80 off 88 balls. Shahidi also struck 76 against England in the 2019 World Cup.
  • Can Rashid Khan deliver a memorable spell? The classy legspinner has been below his best so far in this tournament, although he looked dangerous with the bat and started his spell well against India.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 2, England 2, Afghanistan 0.
  • Eoin Morgan (148 off 71 balls) was the star when the two sides met in 2019. Rashid Khan conceded 110 in nine overs that day.
  • Ben Stokes recently hit 182 in an ODI against New Zealand.

Arun Jaitley Stadium Delhi Pitch Report and Weather

Batting conditions have been outstanding at Delhi so far in this World Cup. South Africa hammered 428/5, followed by India chasing Afghanistan’s 272 with a mammoth 15 overs to spare.

Similar conditions are expected with a top of about 35 degrees.

Reactions: Marais Erasmus had no interest in giving LBWs in Pakistan’s innings against India

Cricket News: Reactions: Marais Erasmus had no interest in giving LBWs in Pakistan’s innings against India | Reactions to Marais Erasmus

The spotlight was on Marais Erasmus after India bowled Pakistan out for 191 in an excellent bowling performance in front of 100,000 fans at Ahmedabad.

Erasmus was reluctant to give what looked very good shouts for LBW, with two overturned and another upheld on a very tight umpire’s call.

The first of the two overturned was Saud Shakeel, who was caught on the back foot against Kuldeep Yadav. Erasmus indicated that he believed Shakeel inside edged the delivery, but an Indian review showed no edge and three reds.

The next was Haris Rauf, who was rapped on the pads off a Ravindra Jadeja delivery. Rohit was quick to review, and replays once again showed three reds to end the Pakistani innings.

It capped off an innings where Erasmus was reluctant to give anything out, which included a tight call against Babar Azam. The Pakistan skipper was hit on the pad attempting to sweep, with just less than half the ball hitting the leg stump on review.

Fans react to Marais Erasmus refusing to give LBWs

Of course, fans were all over it. Here are some of the reactions on Twitter.

In terms of the big showdown, Pakistan collapsed from 155/2 to 191 all out courtesy of wonderful Indian bowling in the middle overs. Mohammed Siraj started the procession by bowling Babar Azam, before Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav took over.

Bumrah in particular was outstanding, delivering a memorable peach to bowl the crucial Mohammad Rizwan through the gate.

World Cup. India vs Pakistan. Does it get any bigger? The most-awaited contest of the year is here, as India lock horns against Pakistan in the world’s largest stadium. Both teams are coming with consecutive victories in the tournament, making the game even spicier.

India dismantled Afghanistan in their previous outing in Delhi. Jasprit Bumrah was at his best, snaring four wickets for 35 runs, whereas Hardik Pandya dismissed two batters. In the batting department, Rohit Sharma hit a magnificent century (131), the fastest by an Indian batter in the World Cup and crucial contributions from Ishan Kishan (47) and Virat Kohli (55) saw India home.

Meanwhile, Pakistan come in off the back of a morale-boosting win against Sri Lanka. Hasan Ali picked up four wickets, and Haris Rauf also picked a couple, but all the bowlers leaked plenty of runs. Meanwhile, Abdullah Shafique (113) and Mohammad Rizwan (131) amassed outstanding centuries to steer Pakistan to a memorable victory despite the early troubles.

Two exciting teams always form a jaw-dropping game. And when India and Pakistan play, the emotion and excitement reach a new level. Brace yourself. A new chapter to this greatest rivalry is all set to kick off.

Shubman Gill has travelled to Ahmedabad, but his availability is uncertain. The team might not risk him, and Ishan Kishan will play another game if Gill is given more time to recover. Mohammed Shami, who did a fabulous job in the IPL at this ground, might come in for Shardul Thakur.

India: 1. Rohit Sharma (c), 2. Ishan Kishan/Shubman Gill, 3. Virat Kohli, 4. Shreyas Iyer, 5. KL Rahul (wk), 6. Hardik Pandya, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Jasprit Bumrah, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Mohammed Shami/Shardul Thakur, 11. Mohammed Siraj.

Pakistan will likely play the same team.

Pakistan: 1. Abdullah Shafique, 2. Imam-ul-Haq, 3. Babar Azam (c), 4. Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 5. Saud Shakeel, 6. Iftikhar Ahmed, 7. Shadab Khan, 8. Mohammad Nawaz, 9. Hasan Ali, 10. Shaheen Afridi, 11. Hasan Ali.

IND vs PAK Dream11 Prediction World Cup: Fantasy tips

India:

  • Rohit Sharma is coming on the back of a fantastic century against Afghanistan. He has 787 runs at an average of 49.18 and a strike rate of 89.22 in 18 ODI innings against Pakistan. This includes seven fifties and two centuries.
  • Virat Kohli enjoys batting against Pakistan. He has 662 runs at an average of 55.16 and a strike rate of 100.60 in 15 ODI innings against Pakistan. Kohli recently smashed a century in the Asia Cup.
  • KL Rahul is among the most consistent batters in the ODIs. He has hit one fifty and a century in two ODI innings against Pakistan, including a ton in the recent Asia Cup.
  • Rahul has 628 runs at a fabulous average of 78.50 and an 86.50 strike rate in 13 ODI innings this year.
  • Hardik Pandya is a must-pick in this game. He knows Ahmedabad inside out, and his record against Pakistan is also fantastic.
  • Hardik has 209 runs at a 69.66 average in four ODIs against Pakistan. He has also taken six wickets at 30.16 runs apiece.
  • Kuldeep Yadav has 10 wickets at an average of 13.50 and a strike rate of 21 in five ODI innings against Pakistan. In India’s previous game against Pakistan in the 2023 Asia Cup, Kuldeep dismissed as many as five batters while conceding only 25 runs in Colombo.
  • Mohammed Shami has five wickets at an average of 21.40 in three ODI innings against Pakistan. Shami wreaked havoc in the IPL and was unplayable, especially with the new ball. India should include him and hand the new ball straightaway.

Pakistan:

  • Abdullah Shafique looked in fantastic touch in the previous game. He has 193 runs at an average of 38.60 in his five-match ODI career. Shafique will look to make an impact in this game as well.
  • Babar Azam has scores of 5 & 10 in this World Cup. However, he is a quality batter. Babar will have to step up and score big in this game if Pakistan are to have any chance.
  • Mohammad Rizwan is a consistent performer, and is coming off a superb ton vs. Sri Lanka. He has 827 runs at an average of 75.18 and a strike rate of 94.73 in 17 ODI innings this year.
  • Shaheen Shah Afridi comes with a fear factor against India. He has five wickets at 31.20 runs apiece in three ODIs against the Men in Blue. The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have struggled against the left-arm pacers early on, and Ahmedabad will assist the new-ball bowlers.
  • Rohit averages 30.80 and has been dismissed five times against the left-arm pacers in ODIs since 2022. He would need to be cautious against Shaheen Shah Afridi early on, who has troubled him in the past.
  • Haris Rauf has three wickets in two ODIs against India. Overall, Rauf has 29 wickets at an average of 22.75 in 15 ODI innings this year. Rauf will enjoy bowling in Ahmedabad, as the surface should have pace and bounce.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head in the ODI World Cup: Played 7, India 7, Pakistan 0.
  • KL Rahul at No. 5 in ODIs: 904 runs, 56.50 avg, 96.58 SR, eight fifties and one century.
  • Babar Azam would like to improve his record against India. He has scored 168 runs at an average of 28 in six ODIs against them.
  • Virat Kohli vs left-arm orthodox in ODIs since 2022: 104 runs, 159 balls, 13 avg, 65.40 SR & eight dismissals. Mohammad Nawaz will be crucial against him.
  • Ishan Kishan requires 67 more to complete 1,000 ODI runs.

Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Pitch Report and Weather

The average first innings score has been 240, with the pacers snaring 62.3% of total wickets. There will definitely be some help for the pacers early on, and the batters will get value for their shots. The deck will get better for the batters under the lights, as New Zealand displayed in the tournament opener against England.

A temperature of around 34°C, with no threat of rain, is forecast during the match hours.

As the tournament gathers pace, New Zealand will take on Bangladesh in the 11th match of the World Cup 2023. New Zealand are at the top of the table with two victories in as many games, whereas Bangladesh have won and lost one each.

New Zealand dismantled the Netherlands in their previous outing in Hyderabad. Rachin Ravindra (51) continued his fine work, whereas Will Young (70) and Tom Latham (53) also made crucial fifties. Mitchell Santner was the star in the bowling department, as he took as many as five wickets, whereas Matt Henry also dismissed three batters to hand a comfortable victory to the Kiwis.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh suffered a massive defeat against England in Dharamsala in their previous game. Mahedi Hasan took four wickets, whereas Shoriful Islam also impressed in the death overs, but barring Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed, all other bowlers conceded many runs. The batting unit didn’t click in tandem, as only Litton Das (76) and Mushfiqur Rahim (51) tried to salvage some pride, but the other batters crumbled under pressure.

NZ vs BAN Dream11 Prediction World Cup: Fantasy tips

New Zealand:

  • Devon Conway has 225 runs at an average of 75 and a strike rate of 88.2 in three ODI innings against Bangladesh. He has hit one half-century and a century against them.
  • Conway, who is an excellent player of spin, has made a strong start this World Cup (153* and 32). Also, he returns to his IPL home ground.
  • Rachin Ravindra has hit scores of 123 & 51 in this World Cup. He has also taken two wickets in as many innings. Rachin has been in tremendous form and will contribute in all departments.
  • Daryl Mitchell has 112 runs at a strike rate of 114.3 without getting dismissed against Bangladesh in ODIs. Mitchell handles spin quite well. He can also contribute with the ball.
  • Mitchell Santner has 14 wickets at an average of 33.5 and a strike rate of 45.9 in 12 ODI innings against Bangladesh. The track in Chennai is expected to be on the slower side, and Santner is a master of such conditions. He can also contribute with the willow if required, as was the case against the Netherlands.
  • Santner has taken seven wickets already in this World Cup, and will test the Bangladeshis with his accuracy and changes of pace.
  • Matt Henry has six wickets at an average of 14.7 and a strike rate of 18.5 in two games this World Cup. Also, he has picked up 15 wickets in eight ODIs against Bangladesh (avg. 21.86).
  • Trent Boult has 20 wickets at an average of 26.3 and a strike rate of 35.8 in 13 ODI innings against Bangladesh. Boult always moves the new ball and can trouble the Bangladeshi batters with his new-ball expertise. Bowling in the death overs will increase his chances of taking wickets.

Bangladesh:

  • Litton Das made 76 runs in the last game against England and looked fluent throughout his stay. He is among the best batters in the team and will have to fire from the top again.
  • Shakib Al Hasan has 639 runs at an average of 32 and a strike rate of 81.6 in 22 ODI innings against New Zealand. He has also taken 37 wickets at an average of 25.5 in 22 ODI innings against them. Shakib is a must-pick for fantasy teams.
  • Mehidy Hasan Miraz will contribute with both bat and ball. Mehidy is a master of bowling in helpful conditions, and the pitch will definitely suit him. Batting at No. 5 will provide him with an opportunity to score runs as well.
  • Mushfiqur Rahim has 679 runs at an average of 26.1 and a strike rate of 66 in 29 ODI innings against New Zealand. He has also hit three fifties against them. Rahim can also fetch a few points with the gloves.
  • Shoriful Islam has five wickets at an average of 21.8 and a strike rate of 19.6 in two innings this World Cup. Islam has bowled well in patches and will look to continue his good work, especially at the death.

  • Kane Williamson in ODI World Cups: 911 runs, 56.9 avg, 78.3 SR, 3 fifties & 2 centuries.
  • Litton Das vs Matt Henry in ODIs: 22 runs, 38 balls, 57.9 SR & 3 dismissals.

Quinton de Kock (100), Rassie van der Dussen (108) and Aiden Markram (106) made a mockery of the Sri Lankan bowling unit. However, the Proteas conceded 326 with the ball, an area they need to improve significantly.

Alex Carey not the same since the Jonny Bairstow stumping – Tim Paine

Alex Carey not the same since the Jonny Bairstow stumping – Tim Paine | Tim Paine shares thoughts on Alex Carey

Alex Carey, who started the England tour in strong fashion back in June, has struggled for runs and fluency over recent weeks. In his last eight ODIs, Carey has made just one 20+ score – his excellent 99 in Australia’s heavy defeat at Centurion on September 15.

The remaining seven scores have been under 15, including a duck in Australia’s defeat in their World Cup opener against India.

The keeper-batsman also had a quiet final three Tests in the Ashes, where he struck 71 runs at 14.2. Before the third match at Headingley, Carey had an excellent World Test Championship Final against India (48 & 66*) and scored 66 in the first Test of the Ashes series.

In fact, the difference in the batting and keeping between Carey and Jonny Bairstow was considered a key factor in Australia picking up a 2-0 series lead.

So, what has been the catalyst for Carey’s drop in form? Former Australian captain and wicket-keeper Tim Paine weighed in on his struggles speaking on SEN Breakfast.

Carey not the same since Bairstow stumping – Tim Paine

“He’s [Carey] has been struggling, there’s no doubt about that,” said Paine. “I don’t think he’s looked the same since the Jonny Bairstow stumping.”

“Whether that’s had an effect on him mentally because there was no doubt he copped an absolute barrel over there. I don’t know if it’s rattled him or if his confidence has dropped off. He hasn’t looked the same,” Paine continued.

Now, Australia have a decision to make with Josh Inglis in the squad. Carey provides a left-handed option which the selectors have gone with to start the World Cup, but his struggles against left-arm spin are concerning.

“He’s [Carey] has been struggling, there’s no doubt about that. don’t think he’s looked the same since the Jonny Bairstow stumping.”

Tim Paine.

The five-time champions have a crucial match against South Africa coming up at Lucknow on 12 October. A second-straight defeat will mean lots of catching up to do in what is shaping up to be an interesting World Cup.

IND vs AFG Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 9 | IND vs AFG Dream11 Prediction | Delhi Pitch Report

India kicked off their 2023 World Cup campaign in excellent fashion, clinically disposing of Australia in a strong showing at Chennai. The first few overs of their batting innings aside, the hosts were well in control of the contest pretty much from the outset, with KL Rahul and Virat Kohli the stars.

So, they enter their showdown with Afghanistan full of confidence. The bowling attack looked in strong touch, and they will be after a repeat. If they are on their game, they should be too good given Afghanistan’s batting worries, highlighted in their defeat against Bangladesh.

Number one on the agenda for Afghanistan needs to be strike rotation. That is easier said than done against a quality attack, but if they get stuck as they did in their tournament opener at Dharamsala, they are next to no chance of causing an upset at Delhi.

List of highest run chases by Pakistan in ODIs

Cricket News: List of highest run chases by Pakistan in ODIs | What is Pakistan’s highest run chase in ODIs?

Since 2022, Pakistan have bolstered the amount of times they have successfully chased 300+ totals in ODIs. In fact, they have achieved their top four highest successful run chases all in this period.

When it comes to their highest in history, which game tops the list? Here is a look at Pakistan’s top six highest run chases in ODIs.

Top 6 highest run chases by Pakistan in ODIs

TotalOppositionLocationYear
319/7IndiaAhmedabad2005
329/7BangladeshMirpur2014
337/3New ZealandRawalpindi2023
345/4Sri LankaHyderabad2023
349/4AustraliaLahore2022
355/4South AfricaKarachi2025

6. 319/7 vs India, Ahmedabad, 2005

Each of Pakistan’s top five made a 40+ score, with Inzamam-ul-Haq starring with an unbeaten 59-ball 60* to guide his team home against India. Before that, the decision to send Shahid Afridi to open worked wonders, with the all-rounder slamming a 23-ball 40 to get the big chase off to a rolicking start.

For India, the great Sachin Tendulkar top-scored with 123 off 130 balls, but ultimately India’s 315 was not enough against a talented Pakistani lineup.

5. 329/7 vs Bangladesh, Mirpur, 2014

One of the most thrilling games in Asia Cup history. Bangladesh, on the back off some excellent batting and horrible Pakistani bowling and fielding, struck their highest ODI total at the time (326/3). Pakistan, despite the efforts of openers Ahmed Shehzad (103 off 123 balls) and Mohammad Hafeez (52 off 55 balls), found themselves in trouble at 225/5 in the 42nd over.

However, Shahid Afridi stepped up once again. He took down Bangladesh’s attack in a scintillating 59 off 25 balls, preying on the nerves of the hosts who were enduring a horror year in 2014. In the end, Pakistan snuck home with one ball to spare in a thriller.

4. 337/3 vs New Zealand, Rawalpindi, 2023

It may have been an inexperienced New Zealand attack, but Fakhar Zaman put on quite the show. His 180* off 144 balls helped make light work of the 337-run target, helping Pakistan to a 2-0 lead in the five-match series against the Black Caps in April 2023.

Fakhar was well supported by the solid Babar Azam (65 off 66 balls) and Mohammad Rizwan (54* off 41 balls). The Pakistanis went on to win that series 4-1.

3. 345/4 vs Sri Lanka, Hyderabad, 2023

Pakistan were in trouble in their 2023 World Cup match against Sri Lanka. Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama took the Pakistani attack apart to lead the Lions to 344/9, after which Pakistan were then reduced to 37/2 in 7.2 overs.

Then, it was all Pakistan as they pulled off the highest successful chase in men’s World Cups. Abdullah Shafique, who came into the XI in place of Fakhar Zaman, hit a classy 103-ball 113. But, the man of the match was the ever-reliable Mohammed Rizwan, who overcame cramp to lead his team home with a superb 131* off 121 balls.

2. 349/4 vs Australia, Lahore, 2022

Babar Azam (114 off 83 balls) and Imam-ul-Haq (106 off 97 balls) orchestrated a clinical takedown of Australia in the second ODI of their 2022 series. The Pakistanis, after losing the first ODI, conceded 348/8 at Lahore courtesy of solid contributions right down the Australian lineup.

However, the total was not enough. Imam, along with Fakhar Zaman, raced to 118/0 within 19 overs, setting the perfect platform for Babar. The skipper and Imam then put on 111 runs in 15.2 to break the chase open, and they never looked back.

1. 355/4 vs South Africa, Karachi, 2025

Pakistan achieved their first successful chase of 350+ in February 2025 against South Africa. Needing to win to make the tri-series final against New Zealand, Mohammad Rizwan’s team faced a tall order after the Proteas posted a big total courtesy of 80+ scores by Temba Bavuma, Matthew Breetzke and Heinrich Klaasen.

Pakistan made a fast start to the response, touching nine an over in the opening 10 overs, but found themselves three down in the 11th over. It was there that captain Rizwan (122*) and Salman Agha )134) combined for a magnificent 260-run stand which was Pakistan’s third-highest ever and highest in a chase.

PAK vs SL Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 8 | PAK vs SL Dream11 Prediction Today | Hyderabad Pitch Report

Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka in the 8th match of the World Cup 2023. It will be the second game of the day, with England facing Bangladesh earlier.

Pakistan are coming on the back of a comprehensive victory over the Netherlands in their first game of the tournament. There were plenty of positives for the Men in Green in their campaign opener. The middle order did the rescue job of taking the team to a fighting total, while the Pakistani pacers showed their skillsets to dismantle an inexperienced Netherlands batting unit.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka lost their first encounter against South Africa in Delhi. There were a few highlights for them in the batting department, as Kusal Mendis continued his terrific work, while the skipper Dasun Shanaka also returned to the form after a quiet year. However, there is still a lot to work on in the bowling department, as five of their six bowlers conceded over eight runs per over against the Proteas on a flat track.

ODI World Cup 2023 Match 8: PAK vs SL Possible Playing XIs

Pakistan are likely to stick with the same team that earned them a victory last time. However, Fakhar Zaman’s form is a concern.

Pakistan: 1. Fakhar Zaman/Abdullah Shafique, 2. Imam-ul-Haq, 3. Babar Azam (c), 4. Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 5. Saud Shakeel, 6. Iftikhar Ahmed, 7. Mohammad Nawaz, 8. Shadab Khan, 9. Shaheen Afridi, 10. Hasan Ali, 11. Haris Rauf.

Maheesh Theekshana missed the previous game due to a hamstring injury. He will likely replace Dilshan Madushanaka in the XI.

Sri Lanka: 1. Kusal Perera, 2. Pathum Nissanka, 3. Kusal Mendis (wk), 4. Sadeera Samarawickrama, 5. Charith Asalanka, 6. Dhananjaya de Silva, 7. Dasun Shanaka (c), 8. Dunith Wellalage, 9. Maheesh Theekshana, 10. Kasun Rajitha, 11. Matheesha Pathirana.

PAK vs SL Dream11 Prediction: Fantasy Tips

Pakistan:

  • Imam-ul-Haq has 178 runs at an average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 76.39 in four ODI innings against Sri Lanka. He has also hit a century against them. Imam is among the most consistent batters for Pakistan and will look to make an impact.
  • Babar Azam is a must-pick in the game despite his early dismissal in the previous encounter. He has 525 runs at an average of 58.33 and a strike rate of 82.41 in 10 ODI innings against Sri Lanka. Babar has also hit one half-century and three centuries against them.
  • Mohammad Rizwan almost always scores runs for Pakistan, irrespective of the format and situation. He has 222 runs at an average of 111 and a strike rate of 110.44 in five ODI innings against Sri Lanka. He has also amassed two fifties against them.
  • Mohammad Rizwan made 86 runs off 73 balls with the help of six boundaries and two sixes against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup a month back.
  • Shadab Khan will contribute to all the departments in the game. He has 14 wickets at an average of 24.57 and a strike rate of 28.64 in eight ODI innings against Sri Lanka. Shadab is also a handy lower-order batter.
  • Haris Rauf is a runaway match-winner with the ball. He has the pace and generates extra bounce to stifle the batters in the middle overs. Haris was Pakistan’s best bowler in the last game, as he dismissed three players while giving away only 4.80 runs per over.
  • Hasan Ali has 17 wickets at an average of 11.82 and a strike rate of 18.70 in six ODI innings against Sri Lanka. He also has a five-wicket haul against them.

Sri Lanka:

  • Pathum Nissanka has 819 runs at an average of 43.10 and a strike rate of 86.30 in 21 ODI innings this year. He has also hit five fifties and two centuries. The talented batter will look to provide a steady start to his team.
  • Kusal Mendis has 675 runs at an average of 35.52 and a strike rate of 88.35 in 22 ODI innings in 2023. Mendis also has six fifties. In the last game, he was Sri Lanka’s best batter and looked in ominous touch.
  • Dhananjaya de Silva will aim to contribute with both bat and ball. He is a capable batter, and the pitch in Hyderabad will suit his bowling as well. Expect Dhananjaya to have a good outing against Pakistan.
  • Maheesh Theekshana has 31 wickets at 17.45 runs apiece in the ODIs this year. Theekshana will be very effective in Hyderabad, as the track is expected to offer grip and turn to the slow bowlers. Theekshana can be unplayable in helpful conditions.
  • Matheesha Pathirana snared three wickets in his only game against Pakistan. Pathirana will bowl in the slog overs, increasing his chances of dismissing a few batters.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head in ODIs: Played 156, Pakistan 92, Sri Lanka 59, Tied 1 & NR 4.
  • Haris Rauf in the middle overs this year: 14 wickets, 22.78 avg, 25 SR & 5.46 economy rate.
  • Sadeera Samarawickrama at No. 4 in ODIs: 481 runs, 40.08 avg, 93.94 SR & 4 fifties.
  • Babar Azam vs off-spinners in ODIs this year: 123 runs, 185 balls, 30.75 avg, 66.48 SR & 4 dismissals.
  • Imam-ul-Haq needs nine more to complete 3,000 ODI runs.

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad Pitch Report and Weather

The average first innings score is 287, and the teams batting first have won five of the eight ODIs in Hyderabad. There will be some assistance for the spinners, but the batters will get value for their shots, as on show in the New Zealand-Netherlands match yesterday.

Some clouds will hover in the sky, but there is only a slight chance of rain. The temperature will be around 33°C during the match hours.

ENG vs BAN Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 7

ENG vs BAN Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 7 | ENG vs BAN Dream11 Prediction Today | Dharamsala Pitch Report

A crucial game awaits us early in the 2023 World Cup. England, who were demolished in the tournament opener by New Zealand, will be seeking a quick bounceback against a Bangladesh side who were efficient in their take down of Afghanistan on this ground on Saturday.

England were second-best in all three facets against the Black Caps. Every player reached double-figures, but only Joe Root went past 50. Their only wicket with the ball was a legside strangle, with the bowlers struggling to maintain a consistent line and length in the face of a severe onslaught by Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra.

While Bangladesh don’t possess the same power and dominance that New Zealand showed, they have the players to cause England problems. The Tigers’ bowling attack clicked nicely against the Afghans, while Najmul Hossain Shanto continued his good form this year alongside player-of-the-match Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Indeed, a great opportunity awaits Bangladesh to make a huge statement in this World Cup.

Match Details

  • Date: October 10, 2023.
  • Location: Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala.
  • Time: 10:30am (India), 11:00am (Bangladesh), 6:00am (England).

ODI World Cup 2023 Match 7: ENG vs BAN Possible Playing XIs

England may look to play Reece Topley after they looked toothless with the ball against New Zealand. Ben Stokes is unlikely to play, according to ESPNcricinfo’s Matt Roller.

Chris Woakes could make way. In eight ODIs against Bangladesh, Woakes has taken just four wickets at an average of 83.50.

England: 1. Jonny Bairstow, 2. Dawid Malan, 3. Joe Root, 4. Harry Brook, 5. Moeen Ali, 6. Jos Buttler (c & wk), 7. Liam Livingstone, 8. Sam Curran, 9. Chris Woakes/Reece Topley, 10. Adil Rashid, 11. Mark Wood

Bangladesh could look to play the same XI.

Bangladesh: 1. Tanzid Hasan, 2. Litton Das, 3. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 4. Najmul Hossain Shanto, 5. Shakib Al Hasan (c), 6. Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 7. Towhid Hridoy, 8. Mahmudullah, 9. Taskin Ahmed, 10. Shoriful Islam, 11. Mustafizur Rahman

ENG vs BAN Dream11 Prediction 2023 World Cup: Fantasy Tips

  • Jos Buttler has a superb record against Bangladesh: 8 inns, 385 runs, avg. 48.12, SR 122.22. He has scored 71 runs against Shakib at an average of 71 and strike rate of 104.4.
  • Joe Root was England’s only half-centurion against New Zealand. In three matches versus Bangladesh, Root has struck 183 runs at an average of 91.50 and strike rate of 89.26. This includes a score of 133*.
  • Harry Brook looked in good touch in the World Cup opener (25) before giving his wicket away. He has made scores of 25, 2, 10 and 25 in his past four ODIs, so is today the day he fires?
  • Adil Rashid has outstanding numbers against Bangladesh: 7 inns, 19 wickets, avg. 16.94, SR 19.89.
  • Sam Curran took six wickets in two ODIs against Bangladesh earlier this year. He has dismissed Najmul Hossain Shanto once in five balls (five runs) and Mushfiqur Rahim once in 21 balls (13 runs).

  • Mehidy Hasan Miraz (3/25 and 57) produced an excellent all-round display on Saturday against Afghanistan. The offspinner has taken seven wickets in four ODIs against England (avg. 31.57, econ. 5.81).
  • Najmul Hossain Shanto is having an excellent year in ODIs. In 15 innings, he has scored 757 runs at an average of 54.07 and strike rate of 85.44. This includes two fifties against England.

  • Bangladesh could look to use Taskin Ahmed early against Jos Buttler. The pacer has dismissed the England captain thrice in 39 balls in ODIs (51 runs). He also has good numbers against Moeen Ali, where he has conceded just seven runs in 21 balls with one dismissal.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Mustafizur Rahman vs. England: five ODIs, two wickets, avg. 128.00, econ. 6.07.

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala Pitch Report and Weather

The Dharamsala outfield came into the spotlight in the Bangladesh-Afghanistan game. Mujeeb Ur Rahman nearly picked up an injury after attempting a slide. So, players will need to be wary.

In terms of the pitch, Dharamsala is typically a ground that offers assistance for seamers upfront, followed by spinners as the ball gets older. Expect some pace and bounce. In fact, the last three ODIs on this ground (2016, 2017 and 2023) have seen sub-200 scores in the first innings.

A mostly clear day with a top of about 23 degrees is forecast.
