SL vs NZ Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 46th Match

Sri Lanka face a fight to stay alive in the 2026 T20 World Cup. The co-hosts let a significant opportunity slip against England on Sunday, batting terribly in their chase of 147 at Pallekele.

A host of poor shots early meant they were always playing catch up. Now, the order of the hour is composure after Dasun Shanaka’s team showed none of it against England, approaching their chase of 147 as if they were chasing 240.

However, they face a tough ask against a quality New Zealand team, who will play their first match of the Super Eights after their match against Pakistan was washed out. The Black Caps qualified through to this stage with relative ease, but the fact they conceded 170+ totals against the lesser experienced UAE and Canada – albeit in excellent batting conditions – is cause for improvement.

Conditions in Colombo should aid spin, and New Zealand’s bowlers will welcome the change. But, can their batsmen adjust quickly as well? A lot is riding on this game as defeat can prove fatal.

R. Premadasa Stadium Colombo Pitch Report and Weather

The average first innings score in this T20 World Cup is 173.4. Teams batting first won four of the first five matches, with Zimbabwe’s pursuit of 179 against Sri Lanka the only successful chase so far.

Spin bowlers have taken 37 wickets at the R Premadasa Stadium in this World Cup at an average of 25.46 and economy of 7.64. Pace bowlers have taken 31 wickets at an average of 19.45 and economy of 8.75.

The forecast looks great with clear conditions and a warm top of 27 degrees in the match hours.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for SL vs NZ: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper picks:

  • Tim Seifert has 207 runs against Sri Lanka at an average of 34.50 and strike rate of 147.85. His battle with Theekshana is key as Seifert has been dismissed four times by spin in all T20s this year at an average of 23 and strike rate of 124.3.
  • Kusal Mendis is the fourth-highest run-scorer in this World Cup (186) with three fifties in five matches. However, his matchup against Mitch Santner is poor (see below).
  • How Finn Allen fares on the slower Colombo surface will make for fascinating viewing. Since the start of 2025, Allen has smashed 409 T20 runs against spin at a strike rate of 206.6.

Key batter picks:

  • Pathum Nissanka holds the key for Sri Lanka. He is their leading run-scorer in this tournament (208), although nearly half came in one innings (vs. Australia). The opener has 246 runs against NZ at an average of 27.33 and strike rate of 120.

Top allrounder picks:

  • Mitchell Santner should enjoy these conditions. He has a very dominant record against Kusal Mendis in all T20s (40 balls, 34 runs, five wickets). Overall against Sri Lanka, Santner has 14 wickets at an average of 19.14 and economy of 6.38.
  • Expect Glenn Phillips to bowl overs with Sri Lanka fielding a few left-handers. The all-rounder can fetch fantasy points in all three facets and is in good form with the bat in this tournament (119 runs, avg. 59.50, SR 185.93).

Key bowler picks:

  • Dunith Wellalage has the most Dream11 points in this World Cup out of the bowlers in this match (394). He can contribute with bat and ball, and is expected to play an important role with a host of right-handers in the New Zealand team.
  • Lockie Ferguson has seven wickets in three T20Is against Sri Lanka (avg. 9.00, SR 7.71).

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Maheesh Theekshana often bowls in the powerplay, but will Sri Lanka use him straight away against right-handers Seifert and Allen? Theekshana is having a strong tournament (eight wickets, avg. 17.37) and will be looking to improve on his record against New Zealand: 11 inns, 10 wickets, avg. 30.20, SR 25.30.
  • Daryl Mitchell bats lower down the order but a game of this nature could suit him. He is a strong player of spin and has 250 T20I runs vs. Sri Lanka (avg. 31.25, SR 133.68).
  • Matt Henry takes a wicket every 15 deliveries on average against Sri Lanka. The way Sri Lanka batted against England makes them vulnerable to a quality powerplay bowler like Henry.
  • Rachin Ravindra played nicely in his last innings against Canada. However, how will he adjust to the slower Sri Lankan surfaces?
  • Dasun Shanaka averages just 12.71 in eight T20Is against New Zealand. But, the captain top scored for his team in the last match and can strike lofty blows down the order.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 28, Sri Lanka 11, New Zealand 16, N/R 1.
  • Glenn Phillips has a T20I century against Sri Lanka but just 54 runs in the other five innings.
  • Mitchell Santner vs Kusal Mendis in all T20s: 40 balls, 34 runs, five wickets.
  • Dushmantha Chameera vs Tim Seifert in T20Is: 18 balls, 34 runs, one wicket.
  • Maheesh Theekshana vs Tim Seifert in all T20s: 40 balls, 32 runs, one wicket.

Why is Abhishek Sharma struggling in the 2026 T20 World Cup? Coaches have their say

Abhishek Sharma’s quiet run in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has been the focal point of India’s campaign so far.

The No. 1-ranked T20I batter finally ended his sequence of three ducks in as many innings against South Africa in Ahmedabad. He cut Aiden Markram past the point region to pick up a four, triggering hopes of a much-needed return to run-scoring, as India stared at what ultimately proved to be a mammoth target of 188.

It proved to be a false hope, as the southpaw struggled against South African seamers, who bowled wide and took pace off the ball. Unable to break free, Abhishek fell in its pursuit after an ugly heave on the on-side to a knuckleball from Marco Jansen.

Coaches give reasons why Abhishek Sharma is not at his usual destructive best in the 2026 T20 World Cup

Before the South Africa match, Abhishek had struggled against off-spin. Then, the Proteas seamers seemingly exposed another chink in his armour.

That said, Indian coaches have different perspectives on how to address his form slump, as the defending champions face an early exit.

Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate feels that Abhishek getting diagnosed with food poisoning at the start of the tournament affected his preparation, and the three consecutive ducks have subsequently weighed him down. The former Netherlands batter feels that it’s the responsibility of the coaching staff to fix his issues.

“I think Abhi’s preparation coming into the World Cup with the food poisoning that he had at one stage has obviously hampered his progress in terms of where we want him to be at this phase,” he said, as quoted by cricbuzz.

“You want him to be up and running and sort of confident in his swing and confident in his game plan, and when you score three zeros, that is going to start weighing on you. I saw some really good signs on Friday night in the nets; I think I mentioned it in the presser then.

“But he looks a little bit short, and our job as the coaching staff is to pull that right. We’ve got four days to do that.”

Meanwhile, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak feels that there is no point in tinkering too much with Abhishek’s technique in the middle of a tournament. Rather, Kotak believes Abhishek needs to plan his innings better, and the same should be communicated to him by the management in front of the people he is comfortable with.

“I think it’s not like a struggle. Even today, I felt that he got a start. If you say a lot of things to the batsman at this time, it is more beneficial to not say anything to him. Every player has such a slack period of 2-3 matches. And it is the same time when five people think, ‘Let’s go and tell him something,'” he said.

“If you ask for my knowledge, I don’t think you will be able to tell him in two days and change him. If anything, you will put more doubts in his mind. That is how I think. So, this is my coaching philosophy. If there is time, 15 days, you can do something. Otherwise, it is all about him watching the ball better.

“He will have to plan his innings better, which we discuss by talking to one or two people in his comfort zone. For any player. Not only Abhishek. And he is such a player that you must have seen such phases in his IPL as well. I know that.

“But in such 2-3 matches, in such high-risk, high-reward situations, that thing is bound to happen. So, we have to be prepared for that,”

Abhishek’s form will again be under the spotlight on Thursday night, when India faces Zimbabwe in a must-win game at Chepauk.

ENG vs PAK Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 45th Match

England and Pakistan will lock horns against each other in the fifth Super 8 match (45th game) of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The match will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele, on 24th February 2026, at 7 PM IST. This promises to be a cracking encounter with so much riding on it.

England defeated Sri Lanka in their last game by 51 runs. The bowlers held their own as they bowled out Sri Lanka for just 95 runs, defending 146 in the process. Phil Salt (62 runs) helped England to a fighting total with some help from Will Jacks (21 runs), who continued his good run with the bat.

Jacks then picked up three wickets, while Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, and Liam Dawson picked up two wickets each. England are still struggling with the bat, especially Jos Buttler and Harry Brook. Tom Banton, Sam Curran, and Jacob Bethell played well in a game or two during the group stages, but they’ll have to be consistent.

Pakistan had their first Super 8 game (against New Zealand) washed out. They too are struggling for consistency with both bat and ball. Sahibzada Farhan is the only in-form batter for Pakistan, and they need to deliver as a unit in these conditions.

The pacers have been ineffective so far, while the spinners have done well, but the likes of Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, and Shaheen Afridi have been far from their best till now. Pakistan needs to regroup and perform as a team, as this will be their second game after India where they will be against a strong opposition.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 45th Match: ENG vs PAK Probable Playing XIs

Will England persist with Jos Buttler? Ben Duckett is an option for England.

England: 1. Phil Salt, 2. Jos Buttler (wk), 3. Jacob Bethell, 4. Tom Banton, 5. Harry Brook (c), 6. Sam Curran, 7. Will Jacks, 8. Jamie Overton, 9. Jofra Archer, 10. Liam Dawson, 11. Adil Rashid

Pakistan: 1. Sahibzada Farhan, 2. Saim Ayub, 3. Salman Ali Agha (c), 4. Babar Azam, 5. Usman Khan (wk), 6. Khawaja Nafay/Fakhar Zaman, 7. Shadab Khan, 8. Faheem Ashraf, 9. Abrar Ahmed/Mohammad Nawaz, 10. Salman Mirza, 11. Usman Tariq

Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch at Pallekele has been a good one for batting this tournament, but the last game saw the spinners dominate the match. There was grip and turn, and batters had to work hard for their runs.

But despite all that, it wasn’t a bad wicket for batting. Batters, once set, can play their shots. A similar kind of wicket is expected for this game too. Scores in the range of 150-170 are expected, and teams may prefer chasing, but batting first will be a good option as well.

It will be a clear day at Pallekele with no chance of rain. The temperature will be around 22 degrees Celsius with 85% humidity at the start of the game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for ENG vs PAK: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Phil Salt scored 62 runs in the last game. He looked in good touch and played his natural game. Salt can take the game away from the opposition in the power play itself. Try him as C/VC in some of your teams.

Key batter picks:

  • Jacob Bethell is England’s highest run-scorer in the tournament so far – 146 runs in 5 matches at an average of 29.20, including a fifty. Bethell has gone off track after a good start, but he’s a good player and can contribute with the ball as well.
  • Sahibzada Farhan has 220 runs in four innings at an average of 73.33 at rate of 164.17 with one fifty and one hundred to his name. He’s been a consistent batter for Pakistan and will be a must in your fantasy teams.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Sam Curran will fetch points from both bat and ball. He will bat in the middle order and will bowl the crucial overs for England. His form has been hot and cold, but the conditions will suit him in this game. Curran has 109 runs and 6 wickets to his name
  • Will Jacks has been the best player for England in the tournament. He is scoring consistently down the order and is contributing with the ball as well. Jacks has 131 runs at an average of 65.50, at a strike rate of 195.52, and has five wickets well. Try him as C/VC.
  • Jamie Overton is yet to get going with the bat, but he’s bowling well. He has seven wickets in four matches at a strike rate of 12. He hits the deck hard and is looking in good rhythm. Overton is capable with the bat too.
  • Saim Ayub has been far from his best with the bat, but he’s picking up wickets consistently and will bat at the top, which makes him a must-pick. He has five wickets at a strike rate of just 9.5 till now. He has struggled with the bat though – 63 runs in four innings.

Key bowler picks:

  • Adil Rashid is bowling the important overs for England. The conditions suit him, and he’s using all his experience to get the work done. Rashid will trouble Pakistan’s struggling middle order. He has eight wickets in five games.
  • Usman Tariq will be another player you can’t miss out on. England has struggled against spin, and they may find it difficult to pick his bowling. He has eight wickets in three innings at an economy of 5.82 and a strike rate of 8.6. Try him as C/VC in some of your teams.
  • Jofra Archer has been a little expensive this tournament, but he has eight wickets to his name. He’s looking in good rhythm, especially with the new ball, and Pakistan have lost powerplay wickets regularly in this World Cup.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Tom Banton
  • Mohammad Nawaz
  • Liam Dawson
  • Rovman Powell

Other Matchups and Facts

  • Both sides have lost only one game each till now, but they haven’t played a lot against stronger teams. This will be a real test for both sides and a crucial game for their semi-final hopes.
  • England have won all three matches against Pakistan in men’s T20 World Cups, including the 2022 final.

T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 Group 1 scenarios: Can India qualify for the semi-finals?

Pre-tournament favourites India were in danger of missing the 2026 T20 World Cup semi-finals. Their heavy 76-run defeat to an impressive South Africa side, plus the West Indies’ huge 107-run win over Zimbabwe, meant Suryakumar Yadav’s side faced a fight to make the final four.

However, South Africa’s win over West Indies and India’s win over Zimbabwe on Thursday means we have a virtual quarter-final on March 1. Here is a look at the scenarios.

2026 T20 World Cup Super 8 Group 1 scenarios: South Africa through, India or West Indies to take other spot

South Africa

  • Points: 4
  • Net run rate:+2.890
  • Match remaining: Zimbabwe in Delhi.

The impressive Proteas put on a show against both India and West Indies in Ahmedabad. They beat both teams comfortably to seal their passage through to the semi-finals. Victory over Zimbabwe in their final game will confirm top spot.

West Indies and India

West Indies:

  • Points: 2
  • Net run rate: +1.791
  • Match remaining: India in Kolkata.

India:

  • Points: 2
  • Net run rate: -0.100
  • Match remaining: West Indies in Kolkata.

A Shimron Hetmyer-led demolition of Zimbabwe put the West Indies in a strong position. However, a heavy defeat to South Africa – plus India’s victory against Zimbabwe – means the two teams will face off in a virtual quarter-final in Kolkata on Sunday to determine who goes through.

India’s inferior net run rate does not matter as the winner moves to four points.

Zimbabwe (eliminated)

  • Points: 0
  • Net run rate: -4.475
  • Match remaining: South Africa in Delhi.

Zimbabwe had to win their final two matches to stand a chance at qualifying given their heavy defeat against West Indies. Unfortunately for the Chevrons, defeat to India means they are officially eliminated from the tournament as one of India or West Indies will finish with four points.

Cameron Green likely to play Sheffield Shield before IPL 2026

Australia’s early exit from the T20 World Cup has opened the door for a number of players to potentially feature in the next round of the Sheffield Shield starting March 5.

One player who is likely to play is Cameron Green after the all-rounder had a difficult summer across the Test and T20 formats.

Cameron Green could play for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield before heading to the IPL

According to CODE Sports, Green is considered a strong chance of featuring for Western Australia against Queensland at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field.

Green endured a disappointing Ashes series. The all-rounder scored just 171 runs at an average of 24.42, with the nature of his dismissals drawing criticism. He also took four wickets at a hefty 70.75 runs per dismissal.

Green’s returns did not improve in the T20 World Cup. He scored 24 runs in three innings and did not bowl in Australia’s must-win match against Sri Lanka at Pallekele.

Should Green play in the Sheffield Shield match, it will almost certainly be his final red-ball outing before the Test series against Bangladesh in August. The all-rounder had a strong outing in the Shield just before the Ashes, hitting 94 against Queensland to seal his place in the Australian XI.

The 26-year-old will then feature for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, who purchased him for a whopping INR 25.20 crore (approx. AU $4.17 million). Green will receive approximately INR 18 crore (approx. AU $2.9 million) due to new BCCI regulations.

In 29 IPL matches, Green averages 41.6 at a strike rate of 153.7 with the bat, including an unbeaten hundred for Mumbai Indians. He’s also taken 16 wickets at 41.5 and an economy rate of 9.07.

In other news, Travis Head is a chance of featuring for South Australia in their next Sheffield Shield match, but he is likely to have a rest before the IPL. Also, Steve Smith won’t play for New South Wales, according to CODE Sports.

WI vs ZIM Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 44th Match

West Indies and Zimbabwe will meet in the 44th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. This will be the third game of the Super 8 round. Both sides were undefeated during the group stages and will look to continue their good form. The Wankhede Stadium will host this game on 23rd February 2026 at 7 PM IST.

The West Indies won all four of their league stage games. They are in good form, but apart from one game against England, they didn’t have to do a lot of work as a team. The Super 8 round will test their strength, and they’ll have to be at their best.

Top order’s form is a concern for them, as Shai Hope did score 75 runs in the last game, but overall he’s failed to get going. Brandon King too has struggled in the tournament so far, averaging only 15.50 in four games.

Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford and Jason Holder are the only batters who are looking in good touch. The likes of Rovman Powell, Roston Chase, Shai Hope, and others have to be take responsibility. Romario Shepherd’s fitness is another concern to overcome.

Bowling-wise, the Windies looked in good form. Shamar Joseph and Jason Holder have been brilliant while Gudakesh Motie has been in sublime form as well. Akeal Hosein hasn’t been at his best and they’ll need some contributions from Matthew Forde too.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe won three games with one game ending as a no result due to rain in the group stages. Brian Bennett (175 runs in 3 games with two fifties) has been the best batter for his side. Tadiwanashe Marumani, Ryan Burl and Sikandar Raza have also contributed in what has been an impressive tournament for the Chevrons to date.

Bowling has been their biggest strength this tournament. Blessing Muzarabani (9 wickets) and Brad Evans (8 wickets) are have helped carry their side to the Super 8 round. Spinners Ryan Burl, Wellington Masakadza, and Graeme Cremer will have to step up at the Wankhede.

Wankhede Mumbai Stadium Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch at Wankhede stadium, in this tournament, hasn’t been the same as it’s generally known to be. The ball has turned and gripped. The average first innings score here in the ICC T20 WC 2026 has been 161 runs. But despite all this, a good batting wicket with some aid for the bowlers is expected for this match.

A clear day with no chance of rain awaits the cricket fans.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for WI vs ZIM: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

Will RCB play home games at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026?

Whether Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) play their home games at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026 remains to be seen. According to a Cricbuzz report, the Government of Karnataka have given the green light for matches to be played at the ground, but it is not a done deal yet as of February 22.

Works are currently being undertaken by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) at the stadium. RCB have reportedly requested an unconditional clearance rather than conditional approval following the tragic events at the IPL title celebrations on June 4 last year.

RCB not certain to play home games at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026

“At present, extensive infrastructure and safety enhancement works are underway at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in line with the recommendations of the Expert Committee and other statutory authorities,” said a top KSCA official, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

“Several spectator gates and access points are currently being dismantled and widened, along with other critical improvement works.

“The KSCA has got the government permission to host the IPL matches. However, all the works to be undertaken and completed are under progress and will be completed as per schedule.”

The works are expected to be completed by the end of February. As a backup, RCB are looking at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium at Chhattisgarh as potential option to host matches.

The 2026 IPL season is set to begin on March 26. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to release the schedule for the tournament.

It is believed the reason is twofold. The first is the BCCI usually draws up the schedule around the Assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The second is whether the M Chinnaswamy Stadium will be ready.

“We may be seeing the end” – Fans believe Jos Buttler is close to retirement following T20 World Cup struggles

England’s Super Eights campaign began in difficult fashion, with Jos Buttler in particular struggling for any rhythm against Sri Lanka. Buttler, one of England’s greatest in white-ball cricket, looked very scratchy for his 14-ball seven, extending his poor run of form in the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Buttler did not look fluent at all. He was beaten on the drive on multiple occasions while scuffing a number of other shots, with foot movement almost non-existent. Facing his 14th delivery, Buttler put himself out of his misery attempting a reverse sweep off Dunith Wellalage, and was trapped LBW.

Fans fear retirement is near for Jos Buttler after a tough 7 (14) against Sri Lanka

The opener cut a forlorn figure in the dugout throughout England’s innings. He has scored just 60 runs in five knocks in the tournament at a strike rate of 113.20.

47 of those runs came in his first two innings against Nepal and West Indies, with scores of 3 (4), 3 (4) and 7 (14) against Scotland, Italy and Sri Lanka respectively since.

Buttler has had a fabulous career, including leading England to the 2022 T20 World Cup title in Australia. However, some fans believe the end is near.

“That dismissal has probably done England and Jos Buttler a favour, think he might be on his way out, that was just sad to watch,” wrote one fan on X (formerly Twitter).

“I mean if I was Sri Lankan, I wouldn’t have appealed for that Buttler wicket. Ugly. He looks a bit cooked,” wrote another.

Only Phil Salt (62 off 40 balls) managed to produce anything of substance as England struggled for the most part. Some late hitting from Will Jacks helped take England to 146 – a score that gives them a fighting chance on a slowish pitch.

IND vs SA Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 43rd Match

Is today’s blockbuster a preview of the final? Possibly. India and South Africa, two of the tournament favourites, go head-to-head in a high-profile, high-stakes Super Eights clash in Ahmedabad where over 100,000 fans are set to be in attendance.

Both teams are unbeaten in this World Cup. However, there is room for improvement. South Africa were strong against Canada, UAE and New Zealand in particular, but unforced errors against Afghanistan is a reminder of what to avoid in pressure games. India, despite their strong form, have also had their shaky moments with the bat, including Abhishek Sharma’s incredible run of three consecutive ducks and the success of offspinners against this left-hander heavy lineup.

So, who will hold their nerve best on this big occasion? Ahmedabad is a high-scoring ground, so is batting first the way to go? There are a number of questions and head-to-head battles to keep an eye on, and it promises to be a fascinating contest between two nations whose rivalry continues to gather momentum.

NZ vs PAK Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 41st Match

The Super Eights stage kicks off with New Zealand taking on Pakistan in a highly anticipated clash at the spin-friendly R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Both teams did what was required against Associate nations in the group stage, but performances against Full Member nations means there is room for improvement.

Pakistan crept past the Netherlands, before comfortable wins against USA and Namibia. However, that heavy loss against India is the kind of performance this team must avoid in these big games. Sahibzada Farhan’s hundred against Namibia is a big positive, and if Saim Ayub can fire, Pakistan can go to another level. Also, a lot rests on the spin attack on this ground.

For New Zealand, adjusting to the conditions is the biggest challenge as they played their group games at batting-friendly Chennai and Ahmedabad. The top order breezed past the inexperienced teams, but there are question marks about the potency of the bowling attack as UAE and Canada struck 170+ totals against the Black Caps. However, they have plenty of quality and experience to get the job done here.

In a group also featuring Sri Lanka and England, there is no room for error for these two teams today.

T20 World Cup 2026 41st Match: NZ vs PAK Possible Playing XIs

Lockie Ferguson missed the Canada match due to the birth of his child. It’ll be interesting to see where the Black Caps fit Ferguson in the XI especially if Ish Sodhi comes in.

“At this stage, we won’t be replacing Lockie in the squad as the plan would be for him to return for the Super Eight phase of the tournament,” said coach Rob Walter, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

New Zealand: 1. Tim Seifert (wk), 2. Finn Allen, 3. Rachin Ravindra, 4. Glenn Phillips,  5. Mark Chapman, 6. Daryl Mitchell, 7. Mitchell Santner (c), 8. Jimmy Neesham, 9. Matt Henry, 10. Ish Sodhi, 11. Jacob Duffy/Lockie Ferguson

Pakistan played Faheem Ashraf at number nine against Namibia. Such a tactic can backfire against more experienced opposition. According to ESPNcricinfo, Abrar Ahmed is expected to return to the XI.

Pakistan: 1. Sahibzada Farhan, 2. Saim Ayub, 3. Salman Ali Agha (c), 4. Babar Azam, 5. Khawaja Nafay, 6. Shadab Khan, 7. Usman Khan (wk) 8. Mohammad Nawaz/Faheem Ashraf, 9. Salman Mirza, 10. Usman Tariq, 11. Abrar Ahmed

R. Premadasa Stadium Colombo Pitch Report and Weather

The average first innings score in five matches at R. Premadasa in this World Cup is 173.4. Teams batting first won four of the five matches (two out of two in night games), with Zimbabwe’s chase against Sri Lanka the only time a team has won batting second.

There is the threat of rain in this game. However, AccuWeather’s hourly forecast predicts cloudy conditions during the match hours after rain in the afternoon.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for NZ vs PAK: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper picks:

  • Tim Seifert is New Zealand’s top scorer in this tournament (173). He is averaging 57.66 with a strike rate of 167.96. Against Pakistan, Seifert has a strong record: 19 inns, 579 runs, avg. 36.18, SR 153.98.
  • Finn Allen has slammed 510 runs against Pakistan at an average of 39.23 and incredible strike rate of 190.29. Since the start of 2025, Allen has smashed 409 T20 runs against spin at a strike rate of 206.6.

Key batter picks:

  • Sahibzada Farhan is the leading run-scorer in this T20 World Cup (220). He has a century and half-century in four matches.
  • Rachin Ravindra found some form against Canada (59*), but can he translate that into runs against Pakistan? Ravindra can also be called to bowl a few overs in these conditions.
  • Salman Agha is having a quiet tournament, but he can fire at number three. Since the start of 2025, Salman has scored 346 T20 runs in this position at an average of 31.5 and strike rate of 162.4.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Saim Ayub averages just 9.46 with the bat in multi-nation T20 tournaments. There is no better time than now to get going with the bat. Also, Saim’s exploits with the ball (3/25 on this ground against India) makes him an attractive fantasy pick.
  • Glenn Phillips is in fantastic form. He is striking at 185.93 in this World Cup and can accumulate fantasy points with the ball and in the field.
  • Shadab Khan has accumulated the most 2026 T20 World Cup Dream11 points (371) of any all-rounder in this match. He hit 36* (22) after early struggles against Namibia and then took 3/19.

Key bowler picks:

  • Abrar Ahmed has taken seven wickets in five innings against New Zealand at an average of 20.71 and strike rate of 14.71.
  • Matt Henry against Pakistan’s top order promises to be a fascinating battle. He has dismissed Saim Ayub once in 15 balls (25 runs) and Salman Agha twice in 24 balls (28 runs).
  • Usman Tariq will test the Black Caps with his variations. He has eight wickets in three matches this tournament at an average of 8.37 and strike rate of 8.62.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Mark Chapman is selected in 22.96% of Dream11 teams. Pakistan is his favourite opponent. He has scored 663 runs against them at an average of 41.43 and strike rate of 161.70 against them.
  • Daryl Mitchell is an important cog for New Zealand in the middle. He is an excellent player of spin as well. In 15 innings against Pakistan, Mitchell has scored 371 runs at an average of 30.91 and strike rate of 145.49.
  • Jacob Duffy has an excellent T20I record against Pakistan: 9 inns, 18 wickets, avg. 12.77, SR 10.55.
  • Mitchell Santner can be a threat in these conditions. He has a modest record against Pakistan (14 wickets in 15 innings, SR 23.14), but he can get the ball turning in Colombo.

Other Stats and Important Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 49, Pakistan 24, New Zealand 23, N/R 2.
  • Expect Pakistan to use spin early. Tim Seifert has been dismissed four times by spin in all T20s this year at an average of 23 and strike rate of 124.3.
  • Shadab Khan vs Daryl Mitchell in all T20s: 45 balls, 66 runs, one wicket.
  • Matt Henry vs Saim Ayub in T20s: 15 balls, 25 runs, one wicket.
  • Matt Henry vs Salman Agha in T20s: 24 balls, 28 runs, two wickets.
