Muhammad Rizwan interview: Travis Head plays T20 in Test Cricket

Muhammad Rizwan is currently one of the most popular players from Pakistan. His presence in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) has resulted in a massive boost in the viewership and fan following for the league.

Whenever the Melbourne Renegades have played this season, fans have come in large numbers to see him bat. It was at the Melbourne Cricket Ground where Rizwan scored a 38-ball 41 in the second innings during the Will Sutherland-led side’s thrilling win against the Melbourne Stars. The MCG was filled with fans of the Pakistani superstar and thus, he had even come out after the game to sign autographs and click selfies.

During an exclusive interview with Arvind Kalyana Krishnan for CricBlog after the aformentioned match at the MCG, Muhammad Rizwan acknowledged the love he has received in Australia and expressed gratitude towards his fans. Further on, he spoke about playing against his Pakistani teammates like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf in the BBL.

Rizwan then jokingly spoke about Travis Head’s exploits in the longest format of the game. When asked about the evolution of T20 cricket, he stated that Travis Head’s performances in Tests have been more explosive than T20 cricket. As for Rizwan, he’s yet to unleash his best in the BBL 2025-26 and thus, his fans would hope that he gets back to the groove soon.

Muhammad Rizwan interview: Support from Pakistan fans is fantastic

Below is the text and video versions of the interview between Arvind Kalyana Krishnan and Muhammad Rizwan for CricBlog:

Arvind Kalyana Krishnan: You have so many fans in Australia and you’re receiving so much of love from them. So how do you feel while playing in the BBL?

Muhammad Rizwan: See, if we talk about fans then with God’s grace there’s a lot of them outside Australia too! We get love from everywhere and may God always keep them happy. They’re a lot over here too, I mean, if you talk about Melbourne, then you can see that there were almost 70,000 crowd during the game (Melbourne derby). Among them if you see they’ll be many people from Pakistan. Even behind you you can see fans (points towards the crowd) and even on my side you can see fans. I mean, thanks to God we have always received love from them and may God always keep them happy.

Arvind Kalyana Krishnan: Now in the BBL there are so many players from Pakistan playing like Babar Azam and Shaheen…..So when you play against them during the match, or even after the match, do you tell them anything like “See, today my team’s gonna beat your team” or anything like that?

Muhammad Rizwan: No no, no such conversations take place. Because they’ve come here to perform, I’ve come here to perform, so what matters is how you have to play according to the given situation on that day. In the opposition if it’s Shaheen or Bobsy (Babar) so we know what to expect. Like for example, it was now Haris Rauf, so I know his tricks and he knows mine, so he must have discussed it with his team  and even I might have discussed it with my team…..So these things happen but going to someone and telling them that we’ll do this and that, such banters and all we don’t have it here. It might happen elsewhere but not with us.

Arvind Kalyana Krishnan: T20s have now become more difficult. It’s now become fast. So do you think that T20s have now changed?

Muhammad Rizwan: Now with the way Travis Head is playing Test matches, if you see, he’s playing it faster than T20s… What are you going to do about that? (laughs).

SCO vs REN Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – BBL 2025/26 26th Match

Melbourne Renegades, fresh off a thrilling derby win over the Melbourne Stars, travel to Perth to take on second-placed Perth Scorchers. It is a vital game for the Renegades as they have games in hand on the teams above them, so a good run of form will put them firmly in contention for the top four.

The Scorchers have won four from six games, including an excellent comeback victory over Adelaide Strikers on January 4. Their deep batting lineup is coming to the fore, and the bowling attack is constantly improving.

An interesting game awaits at Perth Stadium. Spin has proven to be a big factor on a ground where the pace bowlers traditionally dominate, so it will be fascinating to see how the surface plays today.

BBL 2025/26 26th Match: SCO vs REN Possible Playing XIs

According to ESPNcricinfo’s Alex Malcolm, Finn Allen (finger) and Laurie Evans (hamstring) missed the Scorchers’ last game due to injury. As of Wednesday morning, the Scorchers hadn’t officially named their squad for this match.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Mitchell Marsh, 2. Sam Fanning/Finn Allen, 3. Cooper Connolly, 4. Aaron Hardie, 5. Ashton Turner (c), 6. Joel Curtis (wk), 7. Nick Hobson, 8. Ashton Agar, 9. Joel Paris, 10. Brody Couch, 11. Mahli Beardman

Caleb Jewell replaces Harry Dixon in the Renegades squad. But, they could stick with the same XI that defeated the Melbourne Stars on Sunday.

Melbourne Renegades: 1. Josh Brown, 2. Tim Seifert (OS), 3. Muhammad Rizwan (OS, wk), 4. Jake Fraser-McGurk, 5. Hassan Khan (OS), 6. Oliver Peake, 7. Will Sutherland (c), 8. Matthew Spoors, 9. Gurinder Sandhu, 10. Callum Stow, 11. Jason Behrendhorff

Perth Stadium Pitch Report and Weather

Surprisingly, spinners have had a say at Perth Stadium this BBL season. Spin bowlers have taken 19 wickets at an average of 16.47 and economy of 7.83. Pacers have picked up 21 wickets at 23.04/8.27.

Teams have scored 113 (11 overs), 150/8 and 153/8 batting first on this ground in BBL 2025/26. The chasing team has won twice, but batting first can be an attractive option today.

A clear and warm afternoon is forecast with a top of 28 degrees. Dew won’t be a factor as this match begins at 4:15pm local time.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for SCO vs REN 2025/26: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicket-keeper picks:

  • Tim Seifert looks the best keeper pick especially if Finn Allen is unavailable. He missed out in the last two matches but is capable of a big score. Since the start of 2025, Seifert has scored 1,659 T20 runs at an average of 32.5 and strike rate of 148.7.

Key batter picks:

  • Josh Brown has smashed 153 runs off his last 80 deliveries in his past three matches.
  • Mitchell Marsh struck a century two matches ago. The opener has scored 305 runs in 12 matches against the Renegades at an average of 33.89 and strike rate of 130.90.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Cooper Connolly bats in the top three and will be one of Perth’s key bowlers as spinners have performed well on this ground. He is striking at 153.98 with the bat (174 runs, avg. 29) and has seven wickets this season.
  • Aaron Hardie smashed 94* earlier this month and has picked up six wickets in the past three matches.
  • Will Sutherland showed nerves of steel against the Stars and is key as an experienced member of the Renegades attack. He has nine wickets in as many innings against the Scorchers to go with 158 runs at an average of 39.50 and strike rate of 139.82.

Key bowler picks:

  • Joel Paris has overall figures of 6/73 off 10.3 overs at Perth Stadium this season. His matchup against Josh Brown (see below) is key.
  • Gurinder Sandhu is yet to go wicketless in BBL 2025/26, taking ten wickets in five matches, including six in his past two encounters. He bowls at the death which brings wicket-taking opportunities.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Ashton Turner is a handy pick especially if the Scorchers bat first. He averages just 18.33 against the Renegades, but he comes into this match in good form with scores of 99* (41) and 28 (14) since December 30. He could also bowl a few overs.
  • Muhammad Rizwan offers fantasy potential as he bats in the top three, but he has struggled to get going, striking at just 103.12 this season.
  • Hassan Khan will be called upon with his spin and can strike a few blows down the order. He is worth trying in some of your Dream11 teams.
  • Jason Behrendhorff has 43 wickets in 31 matches at Perth Stadium. He averages 18.26 with an economy of 6.83.
  • Finn Allen is striking at 187.50 this season.

  • Will Sutherland vs Finn Allen: Four balls, Four runs, one wicket.

MICT vs JSK Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – SA20 2025/26 15th Match

MI Cape Town (MICT) will lock horns against the Joburg Super Kings (JSK) in the 15th match of SA20 2025/26. The game will be played at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town on 6th January 2026 at 9 PM IST.

MI Cape Town is the only side yet to register their first win this season. The defending champions are at the bottom of the table with four defeats and one washed-out game. Their middle order has been abysmal, and it’s the main reason for their poor performance.

They were bundled out for just 88 runs in their last game. Ryan Rickelton is doing all the work with the bat. The likes of Nicholas Pooran, Rassie van der Dussen, Jason Smith, and others need to take responsibility too.

Bowling-wise, the lack of wickets from Trent Boult, Corbin Bosch, and even Rashid Khan has hurt the side. Overall, MI will have to perform as a team if they are to register their first win.

The Joburg Super Kings, on the other hand, are second in the points table with three wins and a washed-out game. They defeated the Durban Super Giants in a super over thriller in their last game. Contrary to MI, JSK has been playing as a team with all the players contributing.

Despite that, they still need consistency from the middle order and bowlers as well. JSK will be eyeing their fourth win of the tournament.

SA20 2025/26 15th Match: MICT vs JSK Probable Playing XIs

MI Cape Town: 1. Rassie van der Dussen, 2. Ryan Rickelton, 3. Reeza Hendricks, 4. Nicholas Pooran (wk), 5. Jason Smith, 6. Tom Moores/Dwaine Pretorius, 7. George Linde, 8. Corbin Bosch, 9. Rashid Khan (c), 10. Kagiso Rabada, 11. Trent Boult,

Joburg Super Kings: 1. Faf du Plessis (c), 2. James Vince, 3. Matthew de Villiers/Rivaldo Moonsamy (wk), 4. Rilee Rossouw, 5. Wiaan Mulder, 6. Shubham Ranjane, 7. Donovan Ferreira, 8. Dian Forrester, 9. Akeal Hosein, 10. Prenalen Subrayan, 11. Reece Topley

Newlands Cape Town Pitch Report and Weather

We saw MI getting bowled out for just 88 runs in the last game played here. There was good assistance for the spinners, and the pacers also got some help with the new ball. But overall, the wicket is expected to be batting friendly. The average first innings score here in 2025 was 179 runs in T20s.

Scores in the range of 160-180 are expected, and teams should prefer chasing. Light rain is expected at the start of the game, so we may see a rain-interrupted game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for MICT vs JSK 2025/26: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Nicholas Pooran has been far from his usual best this season, but he’s a quality batter and will be a must in your fantasy teams. A big knock is due for Pooran, and he’ll be itching to do well in this match.
  • Ryan Rickelton is currently the highest run-scorer of this edition, with 199 runs in 4 innings at an average of 49.75. His strike rate is 168.6, including a hundred to his name.
  • Donovan Ferreira is doing everything for JSK, from batting and bowling to wicketkeeping. He’s a must in your fantasy teams, as he can change the course of the game on his own.
  • Ferreira first scored 33* off just 10 deliveries, picked up a wicket, and then did a run-out on the last ball to take the game into the super over. He will be a top C/VC choice as well.

Key batter picks:

  • Rassie van der Dussen has looked in decent touch in the last two games. He scored 59 in the second-to-last match. Rassie will hold one end and can play a long innings.
  • Faf du Plessis scored 47 in the last game. He looked pretty confident at the crease and can score big in this match. Faf will look to exploit the field restrictions and will be a must in your fantasy teams. You can try him as captain also.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • George Linde will bowl his full quota and can hit a long ball. He will be a must in your fantasy teams considering his multi-skill set and JSK’s right-hand-heavy batting unit.
  • Wiaan Mulder couldn’t get going with the bat in the last game, but he’s a key player for JSK. He will contribute with both bat and ball. Mulder will be a popular C/VC choice for this match.
  • Shubham Ranjane scored 51* runs in the last game. He held JSK’s innings when things started to go off track for the side. Ranjane will bat at 5, he’s a good player of spin bowling and can attack when needed.

Key bowler picks:

  • Rashid Khan can trouble JSK’s middle order, and he’s capable with the bat. After a poor start, he’s looked in good rhythm in the last two matches. Rashid will be a top fantasy pick.
  • Richard Gleeson was the hero for JSK in the last game, as he pulled things back in his team’s favour with two wickets in an over. He will bowl in the middle and death overs and is someone you can’t miss in your fantasy teams. Try him as C/VC in some of your teams.
  • Akeal Hosein is another must pick player for this game. He can bowl in any phase of the innings and is more than capable with the bat. Akeal will fancy his chances against MI’s struggling middle order.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Kagiso Rabada
  • Trent Boult
  • Bjorn Forutin
  • James Vince
  • Matthew de Villiers

Other Matchups and Facts

  • Faf du Plessis vs Trent Boult (T20s): 184 balls, 244 runs, 5 dismissals.

SA20 2025/26 15th Match: MICT vs JSK Match Prediction: Who will win?

MI Cape Town are struggling very badly as a team. Their batters are not scoring runs consistently, and the bowlers too have been ill-disciplined with the ball. Meanwhile, the Joburg Super Kings have played as a unit so far, with different players contributing in all three games so far.

Looking at current form, the Joburg Super Kings should win this game.

STR vs THU Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – BBL 2025/26 25th Match

Sydney Thunder are officially in must-win territory. Last year’s finalists sit bottom of the BBL 2025/26 table after six matches, and have a terrible net run rate of -1.429. They are currently four points outside the top four, and desperately need a win to keep their season alive.

It won’t be easy against an Adelaide Strikers team also searching for a win. They are currently sixth on the table but have a game in hand on fourth-placed Sydney Sixers. Matt Short’s team missed an opportunity in Perth a few nights ago, collapsing in a heap in their run chase of 154.

On New Years’ Eve, however, they thumped the Brisbane Heat on the back of their bowling, and they will be looking to do the same here. David Warner is the key player after the Thunder captain hit a magnificent 130* in the last match. Also, the Strikers’ batters have an opportunity to perform as the Thunder attack is firing blanks.

BBL 2025/26 25th Match: STR vs THU Possible Playing XIs

Hassan Ali is back in the Adelaide Strikers squad, in place of Tabraiz Shamsi. Strikers may be tempted to play Henry Thornton who has 10 wickets in five matches against Sydney Thunder at an average of 9.5.

Adelaide Strikers: 1. Matt Short (c), 2. Chris Lynn, 3. Mackenzie Harvey (wk), 4. Jason Sangha/Alex Ross, 5. Liam Scott, 6. Harry Manenti, 7. Jamie Overton (OS), 8. Jerssis Wadia, 9. Luke Wood (OS), 10. Hassan Ali (OS), 11. Lloyd Pope

David Willey has been named as Shadab Khan’s international replacement player. He is in the squad and will slot in the XI in place of Shadab, who will feature in Pakistan’s upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Sydney Thunder: 1. Matthew Gilkes, 2. David Warner (c), 3. Sam Konstas, 4. Sam Billings (OS, wk), 5. Nic Maddinson, 6. Daniel Sams, 7. David Willey (OS), 8. Chris Green, 9. Nathan McAndrew, 10. Tom Andrews/Tanveer Sangha, 11. Wes Agar/Ryan Hadley

Adelaide Oval Pitch Report and Weather

Teams batting first have managed scores of 155/8 and 121 batting first in BBL 2025/26. The chasing team won both.

The pace bowlers have enjoyed proceedings at the Adelaide Oval this season. They have picked up 22 wickets at an average of 16.73 and economy of 7.22. Spinners have picked up just two wickets at an average of 91.00 and economy of 8.67.

A warm and clear evening is forecast. Expect the team who wins the toss to bowl first.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for STR vs THU 2025/26: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicket-keeper picks:

  • Matt Gilkes opens the batting and is the best wicket-keeper pick as a result, especially as Sam Billings is struggling for form. Gilkes has a score of 93 against the Strikers, but just 34 runs in the remaining six innings.

Key batter picks:

  • Chris Lynn has plenty of past success against Sydney Thunder. He has 669 runs at an average of 39.35 and strike rate of 160.05. Lynn also has a number of good matchups (49 off 29 balls against Nathan McAndrew with one dismissal, 47 runs off 31 balls against Daniel Sams with one dismissal).
  • David Warner is fresh off an outstanding 130* against the Hobart Hurricanes. Warner enjoys batting at the Adelaide Oval in T20s: 5 inns, 194 runs, avg. 48.5, SR 149.2.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • This is a great opportunity for Matt Short against a struggling Thunder attack. He has 339 runs against the Thunder at an average of 28.25 and strike rate of 143.64.
  • Daniel Sams has been expensive this season (econ. 10.25) but has been in the wickets (seven scalps in his last two matches). Sams also has 18 wickets in 13 innings against the Strikers.
  • Liam Scott is getting more overs under his belt. Two matches ago on this ground, Scott won man of the match for his spell of 2/12. He also bats in the top five.
  • Jamie Overton has seven wickets in three innings against the Thunder (avg. 11.86, econ. 7.55). He also has 15 wickets at the Adelaide Oval (avg. 22.5, SR 16).

Key bowler picks:

  • Luke Wood has been excellent in the powerplay this season, taking three wickets at an economy of 7.88 in this period. He has a good record against David Warner in all T20s, dismissing him twice for 24 runs in 28 balls.
  • Since the start of 2025, Hassan Ali has taken 60 T20 wickets at an average of 17.8 and strike rate of 11.7.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Lloyd Pope has bowled nicely this season, but keep in mind he has found it more difficult at Adelaide Oval this season, taking a total of 1/63 off seven overs.
  • Sam Billings is key for the Thunder and needs to deliver. He has scored 191 runs against Strikers at an average of 27.29 and strike rate of 139.42.
  • Sam Konstas has not reached any great heights so far in this tournament, but has the potential to do so. He is worth considering in some of your Dream11 teams.
  • Mackenzie Harvey bats in the top three and can build fantasy points as he dons the wicket-keeping gloves.

Other Stats and Important Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 24, Strikers 12, Thunder 10, N/R 2.
  • At Adelaide Oval: Strikers 5, Thunder 5.
  • Nathan McAndrew against Adelaide Strikers: 10 inns, 5 wickets, avg. 58.40, econ. 9.42.
  • David Willey took just two wickets in his last seven matches in the recent UAE ILT20. But, he has dismissed Matt Short twice in two deliveries in T20s.
  • Jamie Overton vs Matt Gilkes: three balls, no runs, two wickets.
  • Nathan McAndrew vs Matt Short in T20s: 29 balls, 41 runs, one wicket.
  • Daniel Sams vs Matt Short in T20s: 40 balls, 74 runs, one wicket.
  • Chris Green vs Chris Lynn in T20s: 44 balls, 66 runs, two wickets.

PC vs SEC Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – SA20 2025/26 14th Match

Pretoria Capitals (PC) and Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) meet for the second time in SA20 2025/26. Sunrisers won the first encounter by 48 runs. SuperSport Park in Centurion will host this game on 14th January 2026 at 9:00 PM IST.

The Pretoria Capitals’ last game was washed out, but they were brilliant against MI Cape Town in the game before that. Batting first, they scored 220 runs thanks to brilliant contributions from Wihan Lubbe (60 runs), Dewald Brevis (36* runs), and Sherfane Rutherford (47* runs).

It was a six-hitting spree from Brevis and Rutherford, combining for 10 sixes between them in 28 deliveries. Rutherford then picked up four wickets as well, with Keshav Maharaj picking up three. Pretoria will look to continue their winning momentum in this game.

Sunrisers also had their last game washed out. They’ve been in top form and are looking pretty balanced with almost all players performing well. Skipper Tristan Stubbs’ form is a concern, but others have done well.

Quinton de Kock, Jordan Hermann, and Matthew Breetzke have been in good touch, but the middle order looks fragile with Stubbs’ being out of form’ struggles. They added Patrick Kruger and James Coles to strengthen their batting.

Their bowlers, especially the pacers, have been in excellent rhythm. The spin department looks a bit lighter, but they’ve got options who can be useful. The Sunrisers will look to do a double on the Capitals in this game.

SA20 2025/26 14th Match: PC vs SEC Probable Playing XIs

Pretoria Capitals: 1. Will Smeed/Connor Esterhuizen, 2. Bryce Parsons, 3. Shai Hope (wk), 4. Dewald Brevis, 5. Wihan Lubbe, 6. Sherfane Rutherford, 7. Andre Russell, 8. Lizaad Williams, 9. Keshav Maharaj (c), 10. Tymal Mills, 11. Lungi Ngidi

Sunrisers Eastern Cape: 1. Quinton de Kock (wk), 2. Jonny Bairstow, 3. Matthew Breetzke, 4. Jordan Hermann, 5. Tristan Stubbs (c), 6. Marco Jansen, 7. James Coles, 8. Patrick Kruger, 9. Lutho Sipamla, 10. Adam Milne, 11. Anrich Nortje

SuperSport Park Centurion Pitch Report and Weather

SuperSport Park is a good venue for batting. The average first innings score here was 167 runs in T20s in 2025.

Chasing sides have won 47% of the games here (in the last 5 years). There will be some movement for the pacers with the new ball, and spinners will also come into play. Teams are expected to prefer chasing.

Rain is expected throughout the day at Centurion and we might see a rain-shortened or even a washed out game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for PC vs SEC: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Quinton de Kock (126 runs) is the third-highest run scorer of SA20 2025/26 at an average of 42. He’s striking at 163.64, and has a fifty to his name.
  • De Kock scored 77 in the first game against Pretoria this season and will be someone you can’t miss in your fantasy teams.
  • Shai Hope is due a big knock, and this might be the game where he does that. He is batting at a high strike rate but has failed to convert his starts into a big score. Try him as C/VC in one of your teams.

Key batter picks:

  • Dewald Brevis was phenomenal in the last game against MI. He scored 36* off just 15 balls, including four sixes. Brevis looked in excellent touch and will be a must in your fantasy teams. Try him as captain in a few teams.
  • Jordan Hermann is the second-highest run scorer with 146 runs in three innings at an average of 73. His strike rate is 175.90, and he’s scored runs in almost every game for the Sunrisers.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Marco Jansen has been far from his best this season, but he’s done well till now with the ball and can fetch points from both batting and bowling. Jansen will be a popular C/VC choice as well.
  • Andre Russell will be available for this match. He will bowl the key overs, and we all know how capable he is with the bat. Russell will be an excellent C/VC pick for this match.

Key bowler picks:

  • Anrich Nortje has six wickets in three games. He will mainly bowl in the middle and death overs for the Sunrisers. Nortje is bowling at a high pace and is looking in good rhythm.
  • Tymal Mills has five wickets in three games so far. He’s the lead pacer for the Capitals and will bowl in the powerplay and then towards the end of the innings. Mills will be a differential C/VC choice while bowling first.
  • Adam Milne picked up four wickets when these two sides met earlier this season. He’s a genuine wicket-taker and can bowl in any phase of the innings. Milne is a must pick.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Sherfane Rutherford scored 47* off just 15 in the last game, but consistency has been an issue for him. And with Andre Russell in, there are chances that he might get demoted in the batting order. But despite all this, he can be a good pick.
  • James Coles will be a good differential pick. He can bowl left-arm orthodox and can whack the ball. Cole also allows flexibility in the batting order, so he might get promoted as well.

Alternative picks you can consider:

  • Lungi Ngidi
  • Lutho Sipamla
  • Jonny Bairstow
  • Keshav Maharaj

Other Matchups and Facts

  • Head to Head: Pretoria Capitals 4 – Sunrisers Eastern Cape 4

SA20 2025/26 14th Match: PC vs SEC Match Prediction: Who will win?

The game will be decided between Pretoria’s middle order and Sunrisers’ pace bowlers. If it’s a rain-shortened game, then Pretoria will have the upper hand because of their explosive middle order of Brevis, Russell, and Rutherford.

Sunrisers, meanwhile, rely heavily on their top four to do the bulk of the scoring; they have batting depth, but their middle order is not really in the best of form.

Pretoria Capitals to win this match.

Will Sutherland interview: “BBL building back up in last few years”

The Melbourne derby is unarguably one of the biggest games of the Big Bash League and the recently-concluded match between the Melbourne Stars and Renegades was confirmation. Over 68,000 fans attended Sunday’s derby at the MCG, and all witnessed an absolute thriller as the Renegades managed to win a nail-biter that went to the last over.

While the visitors were sitting in a rather comfortable situation with just 46 to get off 36 balls, the hosts pulled it back and were seemingly dictating terms. However, Renegades skipper Will Sutherland kept his calm and saw his side through. With 13 to get from the final over, the all-rounder hit two sixes in the first five balls to seal the deal.

During an exclusive interview with Arvind Kalyana Krishnan for CricBlog right after the game, Will Sutherland drew light on his recent form and the thought of playing T20Is for Australia.

Further on, Sutherland also appreciated the support from the fans. He acknowledged that the Renegades have got a lot of support this season due to the presence of Mohammad Rizwan, and appreciated the presence of the Pakistani keeper-batter. The Renegades skipper concluded by saying that he was hopeful of giving more wins to the fans this season.

Will Sutherland interview: Focus is on the Renegades rather than possible T20I debut in the future

Below is the entire conversation between Will Sutherland and Arvind Kalyana Krishnan for CricBlog:

Arvind Kalyana Krishnan: Will with the way you’ve been playing of late, do you think that an international game in T20s is around the corner?

Will Sutherland: I never think too much about that stuff. Big Bash is the only thing that’s on my mind…..So if that does come along the way (T20I debut), that’s awesome, but yeah, I love playing for the Renegades and I just want to win games for the Renegades.

Arvind Kalyana Krishnan: In this season, we have seen that the Renegades have got a lot of support from the fans in Melbourne and everywhere else, so what are your feelings towards your fans?

Will Sutherland: No doubt a few of them are Mohammad Rizwan fans (laughs). It’s been awesome to have him in the group but yeah, you can definitely feel the Big Bash building back up a little bit over the last few years and the crowds have shown that and probably the viewership also shows that on TV as well so that’s awesome that Australian cricket is in a good spot. I can feel the Renegades support whenever I’m out there and hopefully we can give them a few more wins like this one (Melbourne Stars vs Melbourne Renegades game at the MCG).

SIX vs HEA Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – BBL 2025/26 24th Match

After a terrific Sunday of Big Bash cricket, the action moves to Coffs Harbour where Sydney Sixers take on Brisbane Heat in an important match. It is a Sixers home game as the SCG is hosting the fifth Ashes Test.

The Sixers currently sit outside the top four with a game in hand over the Heat, who are currently fourth. So, there is a lot riding on this game as the playoffs race heats up.

Led by Sean Abbott, Babar Azam and Joel Davies, Sydney Sixers started 2026 in style by beating the Melbourne Renegades on New Years’ Day. They were disciplined with the ball, limiting the Renegades 164, before Babar and Joel Davies helped the Sixers reach the target without too much fuss.

Brisbane Heat won in opposite fashion. They looked gone while chasing 196 against the Stars, before an incredible partnership between Max Bryant and Xavier Bartlett sealed another stunning Heat chase this season.

Today, the question is whether their batting lineup can overcome the disciplined Sixers attack. Also, can their promising young attack trouble the Sixers?

Fans critical of Australia’s defensive team selection in 5th Ashes Test

Australia have come in for criticism regarding their team selection for the fifth Ashes Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

The hosts made the call not to play spinner Todd Murphy for the second-straight match, but this decision raised eyebrows as the SCG surface had 5mm of grass, half that of the maligned MCG pitch.

Instead, Australia played two all-rounders in Cameron Green and Beau Webster, with the latter coming in for Jhye Richardson. As a result, Steve Smith’s team went into the Test with just three frontline bowlers – a defensive move rarely seen made by an Australian team.

Despite early wickets, it was clear Australia misread the conditions. The SCG pitch did not have as much in it as Australia thought. Perhaps the hosts were spooked by what happened at the MCG with Cameron Green as the fourth bowler not working on day one.

Green, who is having a difficult series, struggled for control, conceding 57 in eight wicketless overs as Joe Root (72*) and Harry Brook (78*) looked very comfortable on an SCG pitch that was good for batting.

The two combined for an unbroken 154 run-partnership to leave England in a good position at 211/3. Only 45 overs were possible as rain and bad light intervened, but the fact the game didn’t restart even when the rain stopped was cause for significant frustration.

Fans unhappy with Australia team selection and bowling performance on day 1 at the SCG

Green copped the brunt of the criticism on another disappointing day, as the call to not play a spinner also garnered plenty of attention. Australia also bowled poorly as a unit, offering plenty of width and easy runs to Root and Brook.

“For Todd Murphy to miss selection for the fifth Test in Sydney, something has gone seriously, seriously wrong — whether pitch-related, selection-based or otherwise,” wrote Fox Sports journalist Will Faulkner on X (formerly Twitter).

“Gotta say, makes me sad when @CricketAus don’t pick a spinner in a Test match. Could have been a great chance to give the next generation a golden opportunity…” wrote Ryan Campbell, former Western Australia cricketer and Netherlands coach.

Play will begin earlier at 10:00am on day two. Australia will turn to their three frontline quicks in Mitchell Starc, Michael Neser and Scott Boland for early wickets as England will look to build on their promising position.

While the Ashes were decided in Adelaide, there are still World Test Championship points on offer.

MICT vs PR Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – SA20 2025/26 13th Match

MI Cape Town (MICT) will be against the Paarl Royals (PR) in the 13th match of SA20 2025-26

MI Cape Town lost their last match against the Paarl Royals by one run. They are at the bottom of the table with three defeats and a rained-out game after four matches and will be itching to register their first win of the season.

Their batters have been in good form, but the bowlers need to perform as a group if they are to win this game. Ryan Rickelton is currently the highest run-scorer of this season with 182 runs in three innings at an average of 60.67 and a strike rate of 182, including a century.

Rassie van der Dussen also scored a fifty in the last game. The likes of Nicholas Pooran and the whole middle order need to chip in with consistent performances. Rashid Khan picked up 2 wickets in the last game, but overall, their bowling has been average.

Paarl Royals, on the other hand, are third in the table with two wins in three games. Lhuan-Dre Pretorius scored 98 in the last game against MI, while Asa Tribe also scored 51 runs. David Miller has been in good touch as well, but the other batters from Paarl also need to step up.

The spinners haven’t been very effective for the Royals, and they also need to pull up their socks. Ottneil Baartman picked up four wickets, while Sikandar Raza picked up three in the last match. The Royals too need contributions from the other players to move forward in the tournament.

This match will be played at Newlands, Cape Town, on 4th January 2026, at 7:00 PM IST.

SA20 2025-26 13th Match: MICT vs PR Probable Playing XIs

MI Cape Town: 1. Rassie van der Dussen, 2. Ryan Rickelton, 3. Nicholas Pooran (wk), 4. Jason Smith, 5. Jacques Snyman, 6. Tom Moores, 7. George Linde, 8.  Rashid Khan (c), 9. Kagiso Rabada, 10. Trent Boult, 11. Dane Piedt/Tristan Luus

Paarl Royals: 1. Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, 2. Asa Tribe, 3. Rubin Hermann, 4.  David Miller (c), 5. Sikandar Raza, 6. Kyle Verreynne (wk), 7. Delano Potgieter, 8. Mujeeb ur Rahman, 9. Bjorn Fortuin, 10. Ottniel Baartman, 11. Nqobani Mokoena

Newlands Cape Town Pitch Report and Weather

A good batting track will await both sides for this game. The ball will come onto the bat nicely, allowing the batters to play their shots. Both games played at Cape Town this season so far have seen scores of 220+ in the first innings.

The new ball may move a bit for the pacers, and the spinners will also get some aid, but overall, the batters are expected to dominate. Scores in the range of 180-200 are expected in this game with teams preferring to chase.

It will be partly cloudy in Cape Town with no chance of rain. The temperature will hover around 19-21 degrees Celsius during the game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for MICT vs PR: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Nicholas Pooran hasn’t been at his best till now, but a big knock is around the corner for him, and this might be the game where he goes big. He’s expected to bat at 3 and will be a must in your fantasy teams.
  • Ryan Rickelton has been the best batter for MI, and he’s someone you don’t want to miss in your fantasy teams, as he has this habit of scoring big when he gets off to a start.

Key batter picks:

  • Rassie van der Dussen looked in good touch for his 59 runs in the last game. He will be a key batter for MI with the others playing around him. Rassie will be worth considering in your fantasy teams, especially looking at MI’s middle order.
  • Lhuan-Dre Pretorius showed why he’s rated so highly in the last game. He scored 98* runs and helped his side to a winning total. He looks to attack from the word go and can take down any bowling on his day. Pretorius will be a top C/VC option as well.
  • David Miller will bat at number 4 with Sikandar Raza back in the side. Miller scored 71* off just 38 in the second-to-last game against the Sunrisers. He’s one of the most destructive batters when on song and a top fantasy pick.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • George Linde will bowl his full quota and can hit a long ball. He will be a must in your fantasy teams considering his multi-skill set. You can try him as C/VC as well.
  • Sikandar Raza failed with the bat in the last game, but he picked up 3 wickets and contributed from fielding as well. He’s a key player for Paarl with both bat and ball. Worth trying as C/VC.

Key bowler picks:

  • Rashid Khan picked up 2 wickets and scored a quickfire 38 to nearly take his side over the line. He’ll look to lead from the front in this game and can repeat a similar performance from the last game. Make him captain in one of your teams.
  • Ottniel Baartman picked up 4 wickets in the last match. He will bowl the key overs for Paarl and has this knack of picking up wickets in clusters on his day. A top pick, especially while bowling first.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Kagiso Rabada
  • Trent Boult
  • Bjorn Forutin

SA20 2025-26 13th Match: MICT vs PR Match Prediction: Who will win?

Both teams are struggling to perform as a unit and are dependent on a handful of in-form players to do the bulk of the work. But at the moment, the Paarl Royals look in good form and much more settled with Sikandar Raza coming back in the middle order.

MI Cape Town looks very strong on paper, but apart from the openers and Nicholas Pooran, the middle order is struggling very badly. The bowlers too have been off color.

Paarl Royals to win this game.

STA vs REN Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – BBL 2025/26 22nd Match

This edition of the Melbourne derby has the makings of a cracking match. A huge crowd of around 60,000 is expected at the MCG to watch the Stars and Renegades do battle with different objectives.

The Stars are sitting pretty in second position with four wins out of five. However, they are coming off a defeat against Brisbane Heat in a game they had in their control. It was the first time they batted first this season, and their death bowling came under the microscope. It failed, so how will they respond?

The Renegades need to win this match. They have won just one of four matches as this season threatens to follow the path of other disappointing campaigns. Their batting has only been managing middling scores since their first up win against Brisbane Heat. Whether it can fire against a Stars attack that has largely been efficient remains to be seen.

BBL 2025/26 22nd Match: STA vs REN Possible Playing XIs

Melbourne Stars have named an unchanged squad. They could stick with the same XI especially as Blake Macdonald impressed so much on debut with 37* off 12 balls.

Melbourne Stars: 1. Sam Harper (wk), 2. Thomas Rogers, 3. Marcus Stoinis (c), 4. Campbell Kellaway, 5. Glenn Maxwell, 6. Hilton Cartwright, 7. Tom Curran (OS), 8. Blake Macdonald, 9. Mitchell Swepson, 10. Haris Rauf (OS), 11. Peter Siddle

Melbourne Renegades have named batsman Harry Dixon and spinner Callum Stow in their squad.

Melbourne Renegades: 1. Josh Brown, 2. Tim Seifert (OS), 3. Muhammad Rizwan (OS, wk), 4. Jake Fraser-McGurk, 5. Oliver Peake, 6. Hassan Khan (OS), 7. Will Sutherland (c), 8. Matthew Spoors, 9. Andrew Tye, 10. Gurinder Sandhu, 11. Jason Behrendhorff

MCG Pitch Report and Weather

Chasing teams have won six of the past nine BBL matches at the MCG. The average first innings score in these games is 156 at a run rate of 8.10.

Since the start of BBL 2023/24, pace bowlers have taken 94 wickets at the MCG at an average of 24.99 and economy of 8.06. Spinners have picked up 53 wickets at an average of 24.87 and economy of 7.06.

A cool and clear evening is forecast with temperatures in the teens. Dew is a possibility.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for STA vs REN 2025/26: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicket-keeper picks:

  • Sam Harper has smashed 231 runs this season at an average of 115.50 and strike rate of 158.21. Whether he can improve on his poor record at the MCG (213 runs, avg. 16.4) will make for interesting viewing.
  • Tim Seifert is striking at 175.25 in BBL 2025/26 (170 runs, avg. 42.50). Since the start of 2025, Seifert has scored 1,653 T20 runs at an average of 33.1 and strike rate of 148.8.

Key batter picks:

  • Glenn Maxwell has an outstanding record against the Renegades, with 681 runs at an average of 42.56 and strike rate of 153.03. However, he is a better pick if the Stars bat first as his bowling could be limited given the Renegades’ lineup is filled with right-handers.
  • Jake Fraser-McGurk averages just 18.13 with a strike rate of 95.39 in eight games against the Stars. But, JFM batted with more maturity in the last game against Sydney Sixers. Something to keep an eye on.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Marcus Stoinis enjoys playing against the Renegades, boasting 486 runs (avg. 44.18, SR 123.04) and 11 wickets (avg. 21.27, econ. 8.07) against them. Stoinis won player of the match in the previous BBL match at the MCG this season (62* and 2/18).
  • Tom Curran is the equal leading wicket-taker this season (10). Four of these wickets have come in the powerplay.

Key bowler picks:

  • Haris Rauf loves bowling at the MCG. In nine BBL matches at this venue, Rauf has taken 13 wickets at an average of 16.9 and strike rate of 14.3.
  • Peter Siddle has 10 wickets this season at the best economy rate of any bowler with at least seven wickets (6.80). He has 15 career wickets in 11 matches against Renegades.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Will Sutherland offers all-round value but has a horror record against the Melbourne Stars: 71 runs (avg. 8.88) and two wickets (avg. 103.50).
  • Can Muhammad Rizwan impact this game? He has scored 134 runs off 80 balls against Haris Rauf in T20s (avg. 67, SR 167.5).
  • Campbell Kellaway has looked in promising touch this season, scoring 112 runs at an average of 37.33 and strike rate of 136.58. He is a decent pick if Stars bat first.
  • Josh Brown has started strongly in the last two games, smashing 43 (19) and 26 (13).
  • Gurinder Sandhu is the Renegades’ leading wicket-taker this season with six.
  • Jason Behrendhorff has taken 14 wickets in 13 matches against the Stars at an economy of 6.92.
  • Mitchell Swepson has 10 wickets in eight BBL matches at the MCG (avg. 20.4, SR 17.4).

Other Stats and Important Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 28, Stars 18, Renegades 10.
  • Stars lead Renegades 9-5 at the MCG.
  • Glenn Maxwell in all T20s at the MCG: 41 inns, 1,332 runs, avg. 43, SR 156.9.
  • Marcus Stoinis has 1,148 runs (avg. 37, SR 138.1) and 21 wickets (avg. 19.6, econ. 7.23) in all T20s at the MCG.
  • Jason Behrendhorff vs Sam Harper: 15 balls, 23 runs, no dismissals.
  • Jason Behrendhorff vs Marcus Stoinis: 40 balls, 42 runs, two dismissals.
  • Haris Rauf vs Tim Seifert: 41 balls, 44 runs, two dismissals.
