ENG vs PAK 1st T20I Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

ENG vs PAK 1st T20I Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | ENG vs PAK 1st T20I Dream11 Prediction Today August 28 2020 | England vs Pakistan 1st T20I Key Players | Old Trafford Pitch Report

It has been one unusual summer. The world of packed, noisy England stadiums are a thing of the past for now, as bio-secure environments, ODIs sandwiched between two Test series and social distancing have become the new norm.

One thing that has remained a constant, however, is the English rain. Rain ruined the last two Tests, after one of the great counterattacks. Unfortunately, rain is forecast in Manchester ahead of the first of three T20Is – a series that has its own narrative even with the T20 World Cup officially postponed.

England come into this series with plenty of exciting talent, which was on display against Ireland at the turn of the month. Even though they will be without Jason Roy, who has picked up a sidestrain, they still possess plenty of power hitting ability in their lineup. The likes of Tom Banton, Sam Billings and Dawid Malan will all be keen for an opportunity this series, and can go big to allow a capable bowling attack to do its thing with confidence.

For Pakistan, it’s about getting back to the top in T20Is. They have won just three of their past 11 completed matches since the start of 2019, which has resulted in a significant drop from first to fourth in the T20I rankings. Babar Azam leads a squad that possesses a mix of youth and experience, with some familiar names back in the reckoning. If the weather allows, can Pakistan take a 1-0 series lead and pick up their first win of the tour?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Eoin Morgan has the second-most runs in England-Pakistan T20Is (300). He averages 42.85 and strikes at 128.75 against the men in green.
  • Shoaib Malik is next best with 234 in 10 T20Is (avg. 29.25, SR 118.18, two fifties).

  • The perfect opportunity for Dawid Malan? The top order batsman has over 5,000 T20 runs in 200 matches, averaging over 33. Plus, he was superb in New Zealand last year, hitting 208 runs in four T20Is, including an unbeaten 103.
  • Sam Billings was England’s go-to man in the middle order vs Ireland recently (67* and 46*).
  • Can Babar Azam, the top-ranked T20I batsman, fire right away? He has 80 runs in two T20Is vs England, with a top score of 65, achieved last year in Cardiff.
  • Adil Rashid will be one to watch in the middle overs, after taking five wickets in three ODIs vs Ireland a month ago.
  • Tom Curran and Haris Rauf were superb performer’s in last year’s BBL, and are proven wicket-takers. Curran took 22 wickets in the tournament, and Haris shot to fame with 20 wickets in 10 matches.
  • David Willey was man of the series recently vs Ireland, with eight wickets in three ODIs.
  • Chris Jordan has taken 11 wickets in his last seven T20Is (vs New Zealand and South Africa).
  • Mohammad Hasnain took the most wickets in PSL 2020 (15). Shaheen Shah Afridi was next with 13.

ENG vs PAK 1st T20I Preview Dream11: Can Babar Azam deliver in the opening T20I?

Stats and Facts

  • England have won three of their past five T20Is against Pakistan. The latest was in 2019, where they chased down a target of 174.
  • Pakistan won their last T20I at Old Trafford, smashing England by nine wickets in 2016. Wahab Riaz was man of the match with 3/18.
  • The chasing team has won the past two T20Is at Manchester (Pakistan in 2016 and India in 2018).

Possible Playing 11

Will Dawid Malan or Joe Denly get the first opportunity for England? Also, Jason Roy’s injury means that either Tom Banton or Sam Billings will likely open with Jonny Bairstow.

England: 1. Jonny Bairstow (wk), 2. Tom Banton, 3. Dawid Malan/Joe Denly, 4. Eoin Morgan (c), 5. Sam Billings, 6. Moeen Ali, 7. Tom Curran, 8. Chris Jordan, 9. David Willey, 10. Adil Rashid, 11. Saqib Mahmood

Can Mohammad Hafeez, who averages just 14.88 in nine T20Is vs England, make an impact? Eyes will also be on Iftikhar Ahmed, who is striking at 141.88 in eight T20Is so far. Also, Pakistan have a decision to make regarding their bowling attack, with a number of seam bowling options available.

Pakistan: 1. Babar Azam (c), 2. Fakhar Zaman, 3. Mohammad Hafeez, 4. Shoaib Malik, 5. Iftikhar Ahmed, 6. Imad Wasim, 7. Mohammad Rizwan/Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk), 8. Shadab Khan, 9. Mohammad Amir, 10. Shaheen Shah Afridi, 11. Haris Rauf/Mohammad Hasnain

Old Trafford Manchester Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

As was the case with the Tests at Southampton, rain could prove to be a factor at Old Trafford as some showers are forecast.

The average first innings score in the last three T20Is on this ground is 161.67. If the pitches at Old Trafford this summer are anything to go by, both the batsmen and bowlers can expect the wicket to have something in it for them.

CPL 2020 Match 16: GAW vs TKR Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

CPL 2020 Match 16: GAW vs TKR Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | TKR vs GAW Dream11 Prediction Today August 27 2020 | Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders Key Players | Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report

The CPL bandwagon is rolling and it’s time for the reverse fixtures to pan out now as the Trinbago Knight Riders take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors in a repeat of the first match of the season.

The season has unfolded differently for the two teams. Trinbago Knight Riders have been on a winning spree and the only unbeaten team in CPL 2020 so far with four wins in as many games and the entire team contributing in the victories so far. In the previous match against the Zouks, the three-time champions won the rain marred game by eight wickets, as the Bravos were impressive with bat and ball.

The Warriors have been inconsistent in the tourney so far and halfway into their season, they have two wins in five matches and haven’t lived up to their potential. Players like Imran Tahir, Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran have taken charge occasionally but have not been up to the mark regularly. It will be a challenge for the Chris Green-led side to put up a show against TKR, who seem to be on a mission.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Dwayne Bravo was in the limelight in the previous game as he picked his 500th wicket in T20s and 100th wicket in CPL history. He bowled at an ER of 2.3 and will be the spearhead of bowling attack against Hetmyer, Taylor and Pooran.
  • Also, Bravo is the leading wicket-taker in TKR-GAW matches (24).
  • Kieron Pollard was among the runs against the Tridents with a quick fire 41 runs off 17 balls.
  • Darren Bravo has been among the runs for TKR in the last games with a half century and match winning knock in the previous game. Against GAW, his battle against Tahir and offspinner Green will be one to watch out for.
  • Colin Munro is the leading run getter in the matches between the two sides with 482 runs so far.
  • Shimron Hetmyer was among the runs the last time these two teams played and he has carried the form to the following game. But three single digit scores in the following matches haven’t quite helped him.
  • Imran Tahir has picked nine wickets in the tournament so far and has been the leading wicket taker for the Warriors.
  • Nicholas Pooran hasn’t done justice to his reputation with just one half century so far and it will be crucial for the five-time runners up that the southpaw strikes form.

CPL 2020 Match 16: GAW vs TKR – Can Shimron Hetmyer rediscover his form?

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 20, GAW 9, TKR 11.
  • TKR have won five out of eight matches vs GAW at Queen’s Park Oval.
  • TKR beat GAW by four wickets in match one of CPL 2020. Sunil Narine (50 off 28 balls and 2/19), Shimron Hetmyer (63 off 44 balls) and Naveen-ul-Haq (2/21) were the top performers.

Possible Playing 11

Sunil Narine missed the last game with injury, so it remains to be seen if he is fit enough to play this game. If not, then TKR might not change their XI.

TKR Possible Playing 11: 1. Lendl Simmons, 2. Tion Webster/Sunil Narine, 3. Colin Munro, 4. Darren Bravo, 5. Kieron Pollard (c), 6. Tim Seifert(w), 7. Dwayne Bravo, 8. Khary Pierre, 9. Ali Khan, 10. Fawad Ahmed, 11. Pravin Tambe

For Guyana, it is likely that Anthony Bramble will get another opportunity at the top of the order.

GAW Possible Playing 11: 1. Brandon King, 2. Anthony Bramble (wk), 3. Shimron Hetmyer, 4. Ross Taylor, 5. Nicholas Pooran, 6. Sherfane Rutherford, 7. Keemo Paul, 8. Chris Green (c), 9. Naveen-ul-Haq, 10. Imran Tahir, 11. Ashmead Nedd

Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report and Conditions

152 is the highest score so far in the Port of Spain leg and the trend of low scores hasn’t changed from the Tarouba leg. So expect the pitch to be slow.

With the kind of TKR are in, they seem an unstoppable force but if there is one team that has potential to beat them, it has got to be the Warriors. TKR obviously go in as favourites but their opponents are not one to take lightly.

CPL 2020 Match 15: SLZ vs SKN Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

CPL 2020 Match 15: SLZ vs SKN Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | SKN vs SLZ Dream11 Prediction Today 27 August 2020 | St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs St. Lucia Zouks Key Players | Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report

The 15th match of CPL 2020 is a crucial one. One team is looking to cement their top two spot, while the other is looking to build momentum as they seek a top four spot.

St. Kitts Nevis and Patriots finally got on the board in CPL 2020, with an excellent chase of 152 vs Barbados Tridents. SKNP’s strategy revolves around at least one of their openers performing well, and it was Evin Lewis who delivered in spades, striking a superb 89 off 60 balls to form the backbone of the chase. In addition, SKNP’s bowlers were all in the wickets against the Tridents, and if they can put on another big effort today, a consecutive victory may await.

St. Lucia Zouks lost a rain-affected game against TKR yesterday, and will be looking to bounce back after a shaky batting display. They beat SKNP earlier this season by 10 runs, courtesy of Andre Fletcher, Mohammad Nabi, Roston Chase and Scott Kuggeleijn all making key contributions. SLZ have the chance now to further cement their top two spot given the inconsistency of the teams below them, and will be out for a big performance.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Evin Lewis is the second-highest run-scorer in CPL 2020 (160). His 89 off 60 balls led the way last game, and has the most runs in SKN-SLZ matches (292, avg. 32.44, SR 164.04).
  • Andre Fletcher is next with 280 runs (avg. 31.11, SR 133.33). Fletcher was one of SLZ’s star performers vs SKN earlier this season (46 off 33 balls).
  • Mohammad Nabi has been in fine touch in his past three games, which includes a man of the match display vs SKN. He has scored 35* (22), 27 (24) and 30* (22) in his past three knocks, along with three wickets (1/17, 1/17 and 1/15).
  • Roston Chase has been superb this season. He failed yesterday (7 off 9 balls), but he can never be discounted. He has scored 129 runs with two fifties and taken five wickets at an economy rate of 4.80 in four matches.
  • Scott Kuggeleijn has been displaced at the top of the wicket-taking chart by Mujeeb ur Rahman. However, Kuggeleijn has performed brilliantly this season with 10 wickets in five matches. He took 4/33 vs SKN earlier this season.
  • Rayad Emrit (seven wickets in five matches in CPL 2020) will have a key role to play for SKN. He took 1/14 in four overs, including a maiden, vs SLZ earlier this season.
  • Also, Sohail Tanvir has a key role to play for SKN. The left-armer has five wickets in three games in CPL 2020.
  • Denesh Ramdin averages 46.00 vs SLZ. He scored 46 (35) vs the Zouks earlier in CPL 2020.
  • Jon-Russ Jaggesar has been a good performer for SKN with his variations. He has taken four wickets in his past two games, including 2/29 vs Zouks.
  • Kesrick Williams has taken seven wickets in five games in CPL 2020. Williams is always one to watch, as he boasts an excellent T20 record: 123 wickets in 92 matches.

CPL 2020 Match 15: Can Roston Chase have a big game?

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 11, SKN 5, SLZ 4.
  • St. Lucia beat St. Kitts by 10 runs (172 vs 162) earlier in CPL 2020.
  • Chris Lynn has had a frustrating tournament so far. He has reached double figures every innings, but is yet to cross 20 (19, 16, 14, 16).

Possible Playing 11

St. Lucia Zouks: 1. Andre Fletcher (wk), 2. Rakheem Cornwall, 3. Mark Deyal, 4. Roston Chase, 5. Najibullah Zadran, 6. Mohammad Nabi, 7. Darren Sammy (c), 8. Javelle Glen, 9. Scott Kuggeleijn, 10. Kesrick Williams, 11. Chemar Holder

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots: 1. Chris Lynn, 2. Evin Lewis, 3. Joshua Da Silva, 4. Denesh Ramdin (wk), 5. Ben Dunk, 6. Nick Kelly, 7. Sohail Tanvir, 8. Rayad Emrit (c), 9. Jon-Russ Jaggesar, 10. Imran Khan, 11. Alzarri Joseph

Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report and Conditions

There is a chance of some rain once again in Trinidad, which means that chasing is likely to be preferred. The Queen’s Park Oval track has assistance for the spinners, with turn and some uneven bounce. The average first innings score on this ground in CPL 2020 is 129.5 (run rate 6.72). The chasing team has won three of the four matches so far.

Top 5 best T20 all-rounders of all-time

Top 5 best T20 all-rounders of all-time | Who is the best T20 all-rounder of all-time?

Having an awesome all-rounder in your side is almost like having two players in one. They become part of your bowling attack and can strike the ball ferociously with the bat. In today’s game, the likes of Sunil Narine and Hardik Pandya are two of the best T20 all-rounders.

The T20 format, though, has been growing ever since its inception in 2003. Therefore, we must ask, who are the top 5 best T20 all-rounders of all-time?

5. Shahid Afridi

Top 5 best T20 all-rounders of all-time | Who is the best T20 all-rounder of all-time? | 5 players who influenced T20s with bat and ball
Best T20 all-rounders: Shahid Afridi is one of the finest T20 players.

Perhaps Pakistan’s greatest match-winner in the shortest format, along with Umar Gul and Babar Azam. Shahid Afridi brought energy into cricket and lots of it. “Boom Boom” as he was informally known, was and still is a very destructive batsman. Afridi has scored over 4000 runs in T20s at an average of 18. However, he often made up for his lack of runs by having an impact with his super strike-rate of 154.

Afridi was a top quality bowler in T20 and could hold his place in the side just due to this skill. 339 wickets in 311 innings represent a good return. His tight wicket-to-wicket bowling gave very little room to opposition batsmen and he often rushed them for pace. An average of 22 and economy of 6.71 are excellent figures as well. Afridi could bowl in the middle-overs and in the powerplay.

He took 12 wickets at the 2007 World T20 to help Pakistan reach the Final. His 11 wickets at the 2009 World T20, plus two half-centuries, helped Pakistan win the tournament in England. A genuine match-winner with either bat or ball.

4. Shakib Al Hasan

Shakib. Bangladesh’s greatest-ever cricketer and the greatest all-rounder to emerge from the subcontinent in recent times. In 308 T20s, Shakib Al Hasan has scored nearly 5,000 runs at a batting average of 21. He has the potential to average greater, but he has sometimes struggled to find the right tempo in T20 cricket. Nevertheless, he has scored 19 half-centuries.

Shakib comes into his own, however, in his bowling. 354 wickets in 308 games is well over one wicket per game. A remarkable best of 6/6 in T20 cricket, combined with the fact that his economy rate is under 7, proves that he is a front line bowler in this format and can destroy opposition batsmen on his day. A bowling average of 21 is also strong.

He has played for various franchises over the world and excelled in most conditions, including being the highest wicket-taker in the history of the BPL. Plus, he has won the most valuable player award three out of six times in the BPL. He was also a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ two IPL wins in 2012 and 2014 and is also a two-time CPL winner.

3. Shane Watson

Top 5 best T20 all-rounders of all-time | Who is the best T20 all-rounder of all-time? | 5 players who influenced T20s with bat and ball
Shane Watson has been an outstanding T20 all-rounder for franchises and country.

Australia’s greatest-ever all-rounder in T20s, Shane Watson has been a superstar in the shortest format of the game. He has not bowled in the last few years due to injury problems, but his statistics are still up there with the best in the game.

In 332 T20s, Shane Watson has scored over 8,500 runs at a batting average of 29.28. He has six centuries in the format, including a blistering 117 in the 2018 IPL Final to help the Chennai Super Kings win the tournament. He has also taken 216 wickets at 27 and at an economy rate of 7.90.

For Australia, he was excellent in the 2012 World T20, where he topped the batting charts for the most runs in the tournament. Plus, Watson was the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Despite his individual brilliance, he could not inspire Australia to glory.

Watson has won the most valuable player award twice in the IPL – in 2008 and 2013. In both tournaments he scored over 450 runs and took over 10 wickets for the Rajasthan Royals. He is also the third-highest run-scorer in PSL history, with 1361 runs at 32.40.

2. Dwyane Bravo

Top 5 best T20 all-rounders of all-time | Who is the best T20 all-rounder of all-time? | 5 players who influenced T20s with bat and ball
Best T20 all-rounders: Dwayne Bravo has had a superb T20 career.

Perhaps the greatest bowling all-rounder in T20 cricket history. At his peak, Dwyane Bravo was phenomenal with the ball. His yorkers were pinpoint accurate and his slower balls were very difficult to pick. Captains ranging from MS Dhoni to Darren Sammy knew that they could rely on him to close out an innings, in even the most toughest situations.

In 457 T20’s Dwyane Bravo has picked up 499 wickets at a bowling average of 25 and an economy rate of 8.25. His figures are skewed by his form in the last few years and the fact that he bowls all of the difficult overs in a T20 innings. At the 2016 World T20, he picked up nine wickets at 21 and at an economy under 8, as the West Indies went on to lift the trophy.

Bravo is also a superb finisher with the bat. He has scored over 6,000 runs, at a strike rate of 127, and could step up the tempo when required. His average of 24 is also solid for a player coming in to bat at number six or lower. Bravo’s fielding skills are also unmatched by other T20 all-rounders. An athletic and versatile fielder, he often plucks off the most difficult catches, especially on the boundary and off his own bowling.

He picked up an incredible 32 wickets in the 2013 IPL, at a bowling average of 16 and economy of just below 8. A gun T20 player, Bravo has been pivotal to the success of many franchises in T20 cricket.

1. Andre Russell

Top 5 best T20 all-rounders of all-time | Who is the best T20 all-rounder of all-time? | 5 players who influenced T20s with bat and ball
Russell’s impact makes him the best T20 all-rounder.

Undoubtedly the greatest T20 all-rounder in the history of the format. Andre Russell has won just about every award in T20 Cricket and just about every tournament he has played.

In 324 T20 matches, “Dre Russ” has scored over 5,000 runs at a staggering strike rate of 170. His average of 27 is very healthy for the format. Also, he can bat slow at times if required, but his awesome power and six-hitting ability makes him one of the most destructive T20 batsmen of all-time.

He has nearly taken one wicket per game as well, with 293 wickets in 300 innings bowled. Andre Russell has a solid bowling average of 26 and conceeds eight runs an over on average. His best of 4/11 and 8 four-wicket hauls both illustrate the fact that he can run through batting line-ups on his day.

A two-time World T20 winner with the West Indies, Andre Russell lit up the 2016 tournament. His 43 of just 20 balls in the Semi Final against India helped the West Indies reach the Final, after a poor start to their innings. He combined with Lendl Simmons to put on an unbeaten 80-run partnership in that game. Russell was also one of the top wicket-takers in the tournament, with nine scalps in just six innings.

Also, Russell was named player of the tournament at the 2019 IPL, hitting 510 runs at an amazing strike rate of 205. Russell also picked up 11 wickets for good measure.

4. Place head-to-head bets after the toss and understand different types of bets

The toss can play a crucial role in cricket, and this could be the case in the UAE in IPL 2020. For example, the slower pitches at the backend of the tournament might mean that the team batting first enjoys a significant advantage. So, in situations such as these, it is highly recommended to wait until after the toss to place a head-to-head bet as you’ll have more of an idea as to how the game might pan out.

Also, cricket has a number of betting options. From runs in an over, to next man dismissed, to the result of a match, the possibilities are endless. So, when betting live, be sure to understand each option, taking into consideration the probability of the event occurring.

5. Never chase your losses

Lastly, and most importantly, never chase your losses. A loss happens in betting, but how you respond to this situation is vital to your wellbeing.

If you try chase your losses, the situation can spiral out of control. For example, $5 can become $20. $20 can then become $50, and so on. As you try to recover, you can spiral completely out of control, especially as your phone is right in your hand.

CPL 2020 Match 14: BT vs JT Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

CPL 2020 Match 14: BT vs JT Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | BAR vs JAM Dream11 Prediction Today | Barbados Tridents vs Jamaica Tallawahs Key Players | Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report

One-third of CPL 2020 is completed and the tournament has well and truly gathered momentum. In match 14 of the tournament, Barbados Tridents take on Jamaica Tallawahs in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

Both teams are languishing in the bottom half of the points table and need to up the ante to be in the reckoning for a playoff spot. While the Tallawahs have won and lost two apiece, the Tridents have a solitary win so far. In spite of the big names both the teams boast of, their performances on the field have been lukewarm.

Barbados Tridents’ captain Jason Holder got a lot of flack for his captaincy, and understandably so as he bowled only eight overs of the spin trio of Rashid Khan, Mitchell Santner and Hayden Walsh whilst not giving an over to Ashley Nurse as the Patriots chased a total of 152. The batting line-up too has lacked a stand out performer so far and Tridents will hope that Anderson, Hope or Charles step up and deliver the goods.

As for the Tallawahs, they have been inconsistent in the tournament so far but if the middle order of Asif Ali, Andre Russell and Rovman Powell play to their potential, which they have only shown glimpses of so far, they can be a dangerous side. With the spinners, Mujeeb ur Rahman and Sandeep Lamichhane, continuing to wreck havoc, they can become title contenders.

Against Guyana in the previous game, the Tridents were clinical with Mujeeb and Edwards picking three wickets each and Lamichhane bowling an economical spell of three RPO. Glenn Phillips gave a good start while Bonner and Russell made sure they chased the paltry target of 109 with ease after an aberration in the middle overs as they were reduced to 53-4.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Andre Russell has not quite been the beast he is in the tournament so far, but in the last couple of games he seems to be on his way to rediscovering his mojo. He has scored 52* (37) and 23* (20) in his past two games.
  • Glenn Philips has been a consistent performer as he has contributed with starts for the Tallawahs and will be a threat for the Tridents. He is currently the third-highest scorer in CPL 2020 with 128 (avg. 32.00, SR 133.33).
  • Chadwick Walton is the leading run scorer in the matches between the two teams, having scored 345 runs so far.
  • Mujeeb ur Rahman was unplayable in the previous game and with the form he is in, he has the potential of running through the Tridents lineup. He has taken nine wickets in four games in CPL 2020 at an extraordinary economy rate of 4.18.
  • 38 year-old Fidel Edwards has been one of the most impressive new ball bowlers so far in CPL 2020. The battle with Johnson Charles and Shai Hope will be one to watch for. He took 3/30 yesterday vs Guyana.
  • Jason Holder- The all-rounder’s performance as a bowler has been satisfactory but his decisions as captain especially in the last game were baffling and it will be interesting to see how he comes back.
  • Rashid Khan was economical in the previous game and his battle with Russell, Ali and Powell can be a match deciding factor.

The spin duo of Lamichhane and Mujeeb have been consistent and pose a threat to the Tridents’ lineup. But the battle between the Trident’s spinners and the Jamaican middle order power hitters is what will decide the game. Jamaica Tallwahs will fancy their chances going into this encounter.

CPL 2020 Match 13: TKR vs SLZ Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

CPL 2020 Match 13: TKR vs SLZ Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | TKR vs SLZ Dream11 Prediction Today | Trinbago Knight Riders vs St. Lucia Zouks Key Players | Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report

As the CPL 2020 tournament is taking shape, a top of the table clash awaits us at the Queen’s Park Oval.

The undefeated Trinbago Knight Riders, scorers of the highest total so far in the tournament (185/3), will be out to continue their winning streak. Their batting depth came to the fore last game, with Colin Munro, Darren Bravo and Kieron Pollard all contributing to a strong total. And, when you add Lendl Simmons (second-highest run scorer in CPL 2019) and Sunil Narine (two fifties so far in CPL 2020), as well as know-how with the ball, TKR will be tough to beat again.

You can’t count out St. Lucia Zouks, though. They have won three out of four games so far, with their latest an excellent win against Guyana Amazon Warriors. Roston Chase’s superb tournament continued with more runs and economical bowling, as their bowling attack, led by Scott Kuggeleijn, continues to punch above their weight. Today will be a good test of where they are at, as TKR look the tournament’s best side so far. Can they knock them off?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Colin Munro is in excellent touch. He was man of the match last game, and has 116 runs at 58.00 so far in CPL 2020 (last two scores: 49* off 46, 50 off 30).
  • Scott Kuggeleijn is having a fine tournament so far, and is the top wicket-taker to date (10 wickets). He has taken nine wickets in his past three games (2/28, 4/33 and 3/24).
  • Roston Chase has been one of the top players in CPL 2020 so far: four matches, 122 runs, avg. 40.66, two fifties, five wickets, econ. 4.80.
  • Sunil Narine so far in CPL 2020: three matches, 111 runs, SR 135.36, two fifties, four wickets, econ. 4.58. A key player with both bat and ball.
  • Andre Fletcher has the most runs in TKR-SLZ matches (360). Colin Munro and Darren Bravo are in the top five with 210 and 192 respectively. Bravo averages 96 in this match up.
  • Kieron Pollard is coming off a superb 41* off 17 balls last game, striking the ball as cleanly as any player has so far in CPL 2020.
  • Mohammad Nabi has struck 62 runs (35* and 27) and taken two wickets (1/17 and 1/17) in his past two matches.
  • Dwayne Bravo has struggled with the ball so far in CPL 2020 (1/40, 1/32 and 0/46). However, he has the most wickets in TKR-SLZ matches with 19.
  • Kesrick Williams has taken five wickets in four matches in CPL 2020 to date. He is one to watch, with a strong record of 121 wickets in 91 T20 matches.

Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report and Conditions

The Queen’s Park Oval track had assistance for the spinners yesterday. The two winning teams (Patriots and Tallawahs) successfully chased down scores of 152 and 109. So, the winning captain could decide to bowl first.

Top spot is at stake in this highly-anticipated clash. Can St. Lucia Zouks continue their good run of form? They are capable, but need to limit TKR’s strong top five. TKR are favourites, and will be very hard to beat if at least two or three of their top five fire.

An amazing T20 International XI that never existed

An amazing T20 International XI that never existed | Players from the past who would have been incredible T20 International cricketers

It’s the world of T20 cricket and we are living in it. There has been a phenomenal increase in the demand as well as popularity of this particular format of the game with each passing year.

But, there were some cricketers who showcased their skills perfectly suited for this format, before the beginning of the T20 era. In this article, I am going to create a team of those players from the 80s and 90s who would have excelled in T20 Internationals, had they played for their respective nations.

Also read: All-time T20 XI: Who makes the cut?

1. Saeed Anwar

Glorious. As pleasing as a hot cup of tea in the monsoon. Elegant. A pleasure to watch.

Saeed Anwar was a man who could make the opponents his fans by his gorgeous strokeplay. One of the best ODI openers of all time, he makes a strong case to be included in this XI because of his wide range of shots and strong determination to bat long. He can provide solidity as well as explosion at the top.

2. Romesh Kaluwitharana (wk)

The swashbuckling Sri Lankan revolutionised the batting in ODIs to a large extent when he was promoted up the order to open alongside Sanath Jayasuriya. His fearless approach payed rich dividends to the team and also he did his best as an opener in his ODI career. His aggressive strokeplay would allow Anwar to play his natural game. Also, the left-right combo of Anwar-Kaluwitharana would form a formidable opening pair.

3. Martin Crowe (c)

Martin Crowe was certainly one of the best technical batsmen the world has ever seen. The man behind the renaissance of the Kiwis in the late 80s, Crowe was one of the best tacticians on the field, too. Promoting Mark Greatbatch to open and opening the bowling with an offspinner Deepak Patel in the 1992 World Cup were examples of his street smart captaincy. So, he fulfills our quest for an able no. 3 and an innovative skipper in this XI.

4. Sir Vivian Richards

Sir Viv was the man who actually started playing with a T20 mindset long before the format was invented. Regarded as the best ever ODI batsman by many, Sir Viv batted at no 4 in most of the ODIs he played, where he had an average of almost 49 and an unbelievable SR of almost 95 in that era. These insane numbers make him the perfect no 4 in this team.

An amazing T20 International XI that never existed | Players from the past who would have been incredible T20 International cricketers | Cricket Blog | Cricket Blogger | Best Cricket Blog
Sir Vivian Richards was simply incredible.

5. Michael Bevan

Michael Bevan was not really renowned for his hard hitting abilities. But, the Australian southpaw had a terrific insight of the game situation and played his part to rescue Australia on so many occasions. The best ever finisher in the late 90s, Bevan could be that stabilising thread in the line up and the go-to man during a batting collapse.

6. Lance Klusener

The Australian players had their hearts on their mouths when Klusener hit two consecutive fours off Damien Fleming in that famous 1999 World Cup Semi FInal. An extraordinary hitter by nature, Klusener would be an obvious pick in any possible T20 XI. His effortless striking combined with useful medium fast bowling makes him a complete package for T20 cricket.

7. Kapil Dev

The man behind the India’s first World Cup triumph, Kapil Dev could single-handedly win games on his day. A powerful hitter down the order, Dev struck 95 in ODIs in an era much prior to T20 cricket. Aslo, the “Haryana hurricane” was the first man to reach 200 scalps in the history of ODI cricket. That’s why he fits into the team as a perfect bowling allrounder.

8. Wasim Akram

Although he is nicknamed as the “sultan of swing”, Akram had all the lethal weapons including a sharp bouncer and a deadly yorker in his armory. He is one of the most complete bowlers the world has ever seen. He was also a useful hitter in the lower order. Therefore, he is an automatic pick in this XI.

An amazing T20 International XI that never existed | Players from the past who would have been incredible T20 International cricketers | Cricket Blog | Cricket Blogger | Best Cricket Blog
Wasim Akram was the first bowler to reach 500 ODI wickets.

9. Anil Kumble

Anil Kumble was not a huge turner of the ball. His strengths were his accuracy and variations in pace. He was a really intelligent bowler and used to read the mind of the batsman perfectly. His exploits in T20 format are reflected in his IPL stats, where he has a stunning economy of 6.58 and arguably the best bowling performance in playoffs history. Thus, it is well evident that he would have done really well in T20 Internationals.

10. Saqlain Mushtaq

Long before Murali popularised it, a man from Pakistan had invented the “doosra”. Saqlain was sometimes regarded even better than Muralitharan by the experts. He was a genuine wicket taker, who ruled for quite a few years in the international circuit. After all, his off spin bowling would compliment Kumble’s leg spin really well and would bring variety into the spin attack.

11: Venkatesh Prasad

In a T20 team, we always need a smart pacer, who has a decent number of variations in his bowling. Prasad was not an express bowler, but had a deceptive slower ball and used his cutters with distinction to get wickets. His tactis as a bowler were innovative considering the era in which he played. His variations make him a perfect candidate for the third seamer in this team.

So, there is a terrific T20 International XI that never existed. Is there a player you would add?

CPL 2020 Match 12: GAW vs JT Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

CPL 2020 Match 12: GAW vs JT Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | GAW vs JT Dream11 Prediction Today | Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs Key Players | Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report

The Caribbean Premier League is all set to enter its second leg as the action moves from Tarouba to Port of Spain. The 10 matches so far have filled with entertainment for the fans and are rich in cricketing talking points.

Jamaica Tallawahs take on Guyana Amazon Warriors in what is the second reverse fixture of the CPL 2020. The two teams met a couple of days ago at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium as the Warriors came out victorious in the low-scoring yet thrilling encounter.

The 5-time runners up set, what seemed at first, a paltry target of 119 with contributions from Brandon King, Chanderpaul Hemraj and Ross Taylor. In reply, the Tallawahs were reduced to 4-3 inside the first 20 balls. The 2-time champions could only manage 16 in the powerplay and lagged behind in the chase ever since. In the last four overs, the Rovman Powell-led side needed 58, but even some late strikes from Jamaican talisman Andre Russell couldn’t avoid the defeat.

So, this game is vital as both teams are stranded in the middle of the standings, in third and fourth position respectively. Both teams have been a part of two defeats, but the Tallawahs have played three games while Guyana have played four, with a loss last time out against Zouks. So, can the Tallawahs gain some revenge and beat the Warriors this time?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Nicholas Pooran was the lone warrior for his side against the Zouks in the last match of the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium’s leg as he finally struck some runs (68 off 49 balls). GAW will hope that he carries this form against the Tallawahs.
  • Inspite of golden duck and 4 in his last two games, Shimron Hetmyer remains the leading run getter in the tournament so far (138) and poses a threat to the JT attack.
  • A big game for Glenn Phillips? He has scored 102 runs so far in CPL 2020 at a SR of 130, including one fifty.
  • After conceding at over 10 RPO in the first game, Imran Tahir has come back strongly and is the second-highest wicket taker in the tournament so far with eight wickets. His match up against Asif Ali, Rovman Powell and Andre Russell will be one to watch out for. Tahir is coming off a superb spell of 3/22 vs Zouks.
  • Mujeeb ur Rahman- The Afghanistan turner has bowled at an economy rate of 4.67 and has been the spearhead of the Tallawahs bowling attack. He has six wickets in the tournament, only behind Scott Kuggeleijn and Imran Tahir.
  • Sandeep Lamichhane has also been economical with an ER of 5 RPO and that’s what makes the duo dangerous as they arrest the flow of runs of the batting side.
  • Keemo Paul also has six wickets in the tournament to date, with best figures of 4/19. A wicket-taker in T20s.
  • Chris Green took 2/10 against Jamaica Tallawahs a few days ago.
  • Andre Russell- The big hitting Jamaican all-rounder has been a pale shadow of himself in the tournament so far, although there were glimpses of the beast that he is in the fag-end of the previous game (52* off 37 balls). The return of form of Russell remains crucial for JT’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs.

CPL 2020 Match 12: Can Shimron Hetmyer rediscover his form after two low scores?

Stats and Facts

  • Guyana Amazon Warriors have been victorious in six out of the last seven matches against the Tallawahs, including three wins in three matches.
  • They will be meeting at this venue for the first time ever. Both the teams have played 10 matches each, JT have won six while the Warriors have won four.
  • Andre Russell is one run away from completing 300 runs against the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Queen’s Park Oval Port of Spain Pitch Report and Conditions

The average total in T20s at Port of Spain is 134. Conditions, while they might suit batting a little more, won’t change too much from what they were at Tarouba. There is a chance of some thunderstorms during the day.

Possible Playing 11

GAW recently made two changes as Nedd and Smith came in. Nedd was economical as he picked the solitary wicket but Smith got two wickets but conceded at 8.5 RPO. Both the bowlers will most likely get another game this season, but it will be interesting to see whether Naveen-ul-Haq, who was rested against the Zouks, comes in.

Guyana Amazon Warriors XI: 1. Brandon King, 2. Chandrapaul Hemraj, 3. Shimron Hetmyer, 4. Ross Taylor, 5. Nicholas Pooran (wk), 6. Sherfane Rutherford, Keemo Paul, 8. Chris Green (c), 9. Odean Smith/Naveen-ul-Haq, 10. Asthma Ned 11. Imran Tahir

As for the Tallawahs, Oshane Thomas was drafted in the previous game but bowled a solitary over for 24 runs. It remains to be seen if he gets another game here.

Jamaica Tallawahs (Playing XI): 1. Chadwick Walton, 2. Glenn Phillips (wk), 3. Nicholas Kirton, 4. Rovman Powell (c), 5. Asif Ali, 6. Andre Russell, 7. Carlos Brathwaite, 8. Ramaal Lewis, 9. Sandeep Lamichhane, 10. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, 11. Fidel Edwards/Oshane Thomas

CPL 2020 Match 11: BT vs SKN Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | CPL 2020 Match 11: BT vs SKN Dream11 Prediction Today | Barbados Tridents vs St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots Key Players | Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report

The CPL party is in full flow and will move to the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain from The Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba for the next 10 games.

In the 11th game of the season, Barbados Tridents and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will play each other. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have lost three matches in a row and are in trouble at the bottom of the points table. Their batting has failed miserably in all three games, and is the major reason for their poor performance. They are over-dependent on Evin Lewis and Chris Lynn to put up runs on the board and both of them have thrown it away after getting starts. Dinesh Ramdin’s return to form will give them some relief but they’ll need their batters to take responsibility and give their bowlers, who have been excellent, something to defend; skipper Rayad Emrit, Sheldon Cottrell, and Sohail Tanvir, along with the spinners, have picked wickets regularly.

Barbados Tridents, coming off a tough loss vs TKR, have already defeated the Patriots once this season by six runs in which Rashid Khan starred with both bat and ball along with Mitchell Santner. However, their fall from 68/0 to 120/5 against TKR highlights the issues they need to sort out in their batting department, after Keiron Pollard, Darren Bravo and Colin Munro destroyed their bowling. So, can they bounce back in this game and deliver an all-round performance?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Evin Lewis has 246 runs, which is the highest of current players when these two teams play. He was run-out in the last encounter vs the Tridents.
  • Jason Holder scored a quickfire 38 against SKN in the last game and also has 144 runs and strikes at 150 against the Patriots. Also, Holder scored an impressive 34* off 19 balls yesterday vs TKR.
  • Johnson Charles (52 off 36 balls) and Shai Hope (36 off 38 balls) are coming off a 68-run partnership yesterday vs TKR. Can they put on another big effort today?
  • Ben Dunk has a strike rate of 161.90 against Barbados and has played two good knocks in this tournament.
  • Sheldon Cottrell leads the bowling charts with 11 wickets between these two sides. He also took two wickets when these two sides played this season.
  • Sohail Tanvir and Rayad Emrit took two wickets each against BT earlier this season. Emrit has six wickets in three games in CPL 2020, and Tanvir has four in two.
  • Rashid Khan scored 26 runs and took two wickets while Mitch Santner scored 20 and grabbed two wickets in Tridents’ game vs Patriots earlier this season. Both are very important for the Tridents.
  • Hayden Walsh Jr. and Raymon Reifer performed well against St. Kitts last season. Hayden Walsh took four wickets in two games while Reifer scored 34 (18) and picked up a wicket in one game that he played.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Squad: Chris Lynn, Ben Dunk, Evin Lewis, Nick Kelly, Sohail Tanvir, Ish Sodhi, Sheldon Cottrell, Denesh Ramdin, Rayad Emrit, Imran Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Joshua De Silva, Dominic Drakes, Colin Archibald, Jon Russ Jaggesar, Jahmar Hamilton, Kieran Powell

Queen’s Park Oval Pitch Report and Conditions

This match will be played at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. This is likely to be a much better wicket to bat on when compared to the Brian Lara Stadium, even though the spinners will still get some help here. Teams won three times batting first out of five games played here in 2019. Average score here in 2019 was 160 runs.

Some rain is a possibility during the day.
