So, the toss is the issue, right? Not.

Funny Cricket Tweets November 2019 Week 3 | 15 funny cricket tweets from the past week

1. No Dukes, No Worries

David Warner played his first home Test in almost two years. He looked a man free from any worry with the Kookaburra ball often flying off the middle of his bat, unlike the Ashes series where you’d miss his time at the crease if you went for a short bathroom break.

Warner may sledge and throw the odd swear word here and there, but he and The Royal Family are so similar. No Dukes, No Worries! @benjonescricket has arguably won the internet this past week.

2. Bradman who?

Unbelievable numbers in Australia from Yasir Shah!

Unfortunately, they are his bowling totals. Hilarious stuff from @150pluskph!

3. Absolute genius

Pakistan have limited Steve Smith’s impact beautifully. He wasn’t required to bat in the recent third T20I. In Brisbane, he wasn’t needed until the score was 351.

Pakistan’s management wouldn’t be happy with @IBM1105 letting out their secret plan!

4. Big contribution!

Haris Sohail was never going to escape the wrath that is Twitter. His identical dismissals for low scores was meme material.

@syedsmart21 didn’t disappoint.

5. Tigers, pls…

Bangladesh were rolled for 150 in the first Test of their two-Test abomination against India. So, fans didn’t hope for a repeat.

Bangladesh obliged. Except this time they were rolled for 106. Funny sign and thanks to @being_pranav_ for sharing. Not all heroes wear capes.

6. “I might talk to her”

Instead of talking to the girl, you make this face. @_Mubean_ paints an accurate picture! Great caption.

7. The key secret

Ishant Sharma is a bowler reborn. His last 2-3 years have been superb.

However, there is some deliberation as to the cause of this. Some think it’s because he’s pitched the ball up fuller; others think it’s because of the strong support around him.

@Jeetv27 provides the most obvious but brilliant secret: He can see.

8. Bangladesh…

Batsmen were coming in and out as if the Eden Gardens pitch with alarming regularity.

Unfortunately for Bangladesh, their physio probably did spend more time on the field than their batsmen who were dismissed… Too good from @peeyushsharmaa.

9. Nah, don’t like the Day/Night stuff

Last month, Bangladeshi cricketers, led by Shakib Al Hasan, took a stand against the board. Now, they are taking a stand against Day/Night Test cricket.

Thanks to @atishub for giving us this insight. #Respect

10. Am I a joke to you?

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, with 411 Test wickets between them at home, bowled just seven overs combined in India’s huge win in the second Test.

Magnificent use of a famous meme by @magniificent.

11. “That’s not how you do it”

BCCI’s Twitter account is some of the most awful social media activity you’d see. While the likes of cricket.com.au and England Cricket show us superb replays on Twitter, BCCI shows celebrations, hugs and guys walking. Hilarious from @CricCrazyNIKS!

12. Ouch

https://twitter.com/pull_playlist/status/1198421407799005184?s=20

So much savagery. @pull_playlist needs to be stopped!

Kidding. Keep the England jokes coming.

13. NOISE

Twitter was always going to in hard on Sanjay Manjrekar when he rubbished Harsha Bhogle’s claims on the pink ball in commentary.

A meme so accurate. Thanks for expressing our thoughts, @GirirajwanSwetha.

14. “You must be kidding me”

Rohit’s catch brought out the memes. Saha’s catch, also in front of Kohli, brought out this one from @djaywalebabu. Superb!

15. PEAK CONTENT

https://twitter.com/ethan_meldrum/status/1198811939062734848?s=20

Arguably saving best till last here. Step aside Bag Raiders, we have the proper Shooting Stars video. This is absolutely outstanding from @ethan_meldrum. Peak content. A tweet worthy of saving and locking away, to come back to it whenever we need a lift.

Jos Buttler might avoid it, though…

So, there are 15 funny tweets from the past week.

IPL 2020 Auction: 5 Players DC Can Target for IPL 2020

5 Players that DC can go for in the IPL 2020 Auction | How could the DC squad look like for IPL 2020 season? | 5 Players Delhi Capitals can Buy for IPL 2020

This article is part of an IPL Auction series, where we explore each team. Also check out the players CSK, SRH, KKR, KXIP, RR and RCB could look at buying!

Delhi Capitals released nine players, including the surprise release of Chris Morris. They traded in Ajinkya Rahane, which has the potential to mess up their batting order with Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw already in the squad, along with Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant.

So, DC will head into the IPL 2020 Auction with the challenges to fix their batting order and create a good squad. Here are five players they can go for to fix their problems:

5. Varun Chakravarthy

The most expensive buy of last season, Varun Charkravarthy, played just one match and then missed the rest of the campaign due to injury. He is now available for selection after being released by KXIP. DC can go for him as a backup for Amit Mishra, as the mystery spinner has some great numbers in domestic games.

Varun Chakravarthy: Effective for DC?

4. Heinrich Klaasen

Delhi tried Colin Ingram last season in the middle order, which didn’t prove too successful. So, after releasing him this year, DC can go for Heinrich Klaasen as his replacement. Klaasen bats very aggressively and also plays spin well; needed on the sluggish pitch of Delhi. Klaasen also didn’t get enough exposure in the RCB side due to their star top order and can make his name if plays for the Delhi side.

Henrich Klaasen could be effective for DC.

3. Dale Steyn

Delhi Capitals need someone to accompany Kagiso Rabada. Dale Steyn, released by RCB, can be the perfect choice. He can bowl with new ball, at the death and is a proven match winner. He can be a good asset for Delhi.

Dale Steyn could have plenty to offer.

2. Colin de Grandhomme

After releasing Morris, DC need someone to fill his boots. Colin de Grandhomme can be a good choice. Although he doesn’t bowl as quickly as Morris, de Grandhomme can be key in accelerating the scoring rate, especially with Ajinkya Rahane in the team. He can finish the innings on a high for DC, along with the likes of Rishabh Pant and Keemo Paul.

1. Chris Morris

The biggest problem for Delhi Capitals is to maintain a balance between their batting and bowling after releasing Chris Morris. They have a few players but they don’t bring the quality Morris did. So the perfect choice for them this auction is to go for Chris Morris again.

It’s a bit difficult but they may get for him for a lower price, which would be a win-win situation. We all know how capable Morris is with both bat and ball. Indeed, Delhi need his services for at least this season.

IPL 2020 Auction: 5 Players RR Can Target for IPL 2020

5 Players that RR can go for in the IPL 2020 Auction | How could the RR squad look like for IPL 2020 season? | 5 Players RR can Buy for IPL 2020

Rajasthan Royals, a team that can go to another level, have made a number of releases. After the release of 11 players, including their star Indian player Ajinkya Rahane, the Royals are also looking to rebuild their squad like a few other teams in the tournament.

Here are five players they can target in the auction who can help them lift the trophy for second time:

5. Colin Munro

It is very difficult for an overseas player to find their place in RR’s XI with the likes Captain Steve Smith, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes present in the team. However, someone might have to leave the tournament midway or potentially get injured.

In that case, Colin Munro is a great choice for them. The dangerous Kiwi opener has 3 T20I centuries to his name which shows how destructive he can be if given an opportunity.

Colin Munro: A great fit for RR?

4. Marcus Stoinis

Despite the difficulty for overseas players to fit in Rajasthan’s XI, they can also look to Marcus Stoinis as a backup player. The Australian all-rounder can hit the ball long in the lower middle order and has knack of taking wickets. His all-round abilities can make him a good choice for Rajasthan.

3. Mohit Sharma

Although RR have Ankit Rajpoot and Varun Aaron in their pace attack, they are a bit expensive in the death overs. So they can go for Mohit Sharma to go with Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer in this period. Mohit has been performing well and has the variations which is needed the death overs.

Mohit Sharma was a good servant for CSK.

2. Pankaj Jaiswal

Not many of you have heard of Pankaj Jaiswal. He is an explosive all-rounder who plays for Himachal Pradesh. Made his name after scoring the 2nd fastest Half-Century in Ranji Trophy, scoring 63 off just 20 balls which includes four fours and four sixes against Goa in 2017. He bats with a whopping strike rate of 193.4 in T20s in 37 matches and has also bagged 55 wickets in the same number of matches played.

With him being released by Mumbai this year, he can be an excellent choice for Rajasthan, along with Stokes in the all-rounder department.

Pankaj Jaiswal can be a great value-for-money purchase by RR.

1. Rahul Tripathi

Released by the Royals this year itself, Rahul Tripathi, can be a key player for Rajasthan. With Rahane now released and the opening slot empty, he can be the perfect replacement for him. He plays very aggressively on the top and has scored 391 runs including a high score of 93 opening for Rising Pune Supergiants in his debut season in 2017. Despite releasing him, Rajasthan can think of bringing him back in their squad.

IND vs BAN 2nd Test Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

IND vs BAN 2nd Test Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | IND vs BAN 2nd Test Prediction Today | India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Dream11 Prediction

The first day/night Test in India. Rightly, it has provided much of the talking points, given the historic occasion on hand at Eden Gardens.

After all, what would we talk about if it wasn’t a day/night Test? India, so incredibly dominant in Indore, surely caused Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque to age years in the space of days. There was no competitiveness whatsoever in the first Test, so will the historic day/night Test only be remembered because of a pink ball and lights? Or will the cricket be memorable, too?

Bangladesh, and the neutral, would certainly be hoping for the latter.

Key to an India win

The 11 day/night Tests to date has seen plenty of instances where the ball moves prodigiously under lights. India’s seam-trio, so prolific in Indore, will be out to cause more nightmares via seam movement and swing.

Ishant, Umesh and Shami never let the Bangladeshis settle. Expect that to remain the case. By ripping through the top order, Bangladesh’s middle order is left with nothing more than some pride to obtain. India, dominant and ruthless, have quick wickets in their sights again.

Also, it can be seen as a plus that India amassed nearly 500 despite the failures of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Mayank Agarwal has made his opportunity count, and if he and the Indian top order can grind Bangladesh down, easy runs could then be on offer. With a middle/late order that can score quickly, India will be eyeing another big total.

IND vs BAN 2nd Test Preview Dream11: Agarwal to go big again?

Key to a Bangladesh win

Wouldn’t this be something?

Bowled out for 150, the Tigers thought bowling first may have been the answer in Indore. However, tighter techniques and greater patience is indeed the right approach. With movement expected, can the Bangladeshi top order hold their own a lot better than at Indore? What platform can the likes of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah get?

Also, Bangladesh’s bowling was just as toothless. Only Ebadot Hossain went for less than four runs per over, with the attack leaking runs uncontrollably. Taking their chances (cough, Imrul Kayes) will be crucial, as well as taking advantage of any movement on offer. Can they get the better of India’s top order stars, and then this time carry on with the job? To compete, Bangladesh must be consistent for longer periods.

IND vs BAN 2nd Test Preview Dream11: Mominul and Mushfiqur need to deliver.

Possible Playing 11

India are looking settled. Expect them to stick with the same team.

India: 1. Mayank Agarwal, 2. Rohit Sharma, 3. Cheteshwar Pujara, 4. Virat Kohli (c), 5. Ajinkya Rahane, 6. Ravindra Jadeja, 7. Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 8. Ravichandran Ashwin, 9. Umesh Yadav, 10. Ishant Sharma, 11. Mohammed Shami

Also read: IPL 2020 coverage

Bangladesh are not so settled. Their openers struggled, and this stemmed down to even the experienced Mahmudullah. Saif Hassan could be drafted in as opener for one of Shadman Islam or Imrul Kayes.

Bangladesh: 1. Shadman Islam, 2. Imrul Kayes/Saif Hassan, 3. Mominul Haque (c), 4. Mohammad Mithun, 5. Mushfiqur Rahim, 6. Mahmudullah, 7. Liton Das (wk), 8. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, 9. Taijul Islam/Mustafizur Rahman, 10. Abu Jayed, 11. Ebdaot Hossain

Pitch and Conditions

Clear conditions are forecast right throughout the five days. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly inspected the pitch two days out from the Test; a pitch that looks quite true. It should hold together well, but the pink ball under lights can enable greater movement on a pitch with a tinge of green.

Stats and Facts

  • India are unbeaten in 10 Tests vs Bangladesh (eight wins, two draws).
  • Mayank Agarwal needs 142 to reach 1,000 runs in Test cricket. This will be just his ninth match.
  • Mushfiqur Rahim scored 30.92% of Bangladesh’s 346 runs off the bat in Indore.
  • India are aiming for their seventh straight win in the World Test Championship. Also, if they win this match, that will be their 12th straight series win at home.
  • This will be the first ever day/night Test in India.

IPL 2020 Auction: 5 Players KKR Can Target for IPL 2020

5 Players that KKR can go for in the IPL 2020 Auction | How could the KKR squad look like for IPL 2020 season? | 5 Players KKR can Buy for IPL 2020

Kolkata Knight Riders, a team touted as possible title challengers in 2019, fell away badly to miss the playoffs altogether.

Now, after releasing many players and with a very healthy purse left, KKR need to replace some of their big guns who have performed well for them over the years.

Let’s take a look which five players they can for this auction:

5. Rahul Tripathi

Rahul Tripathi made his name while playing for RPS in the top order with a very high strike rate. Although KKR have many Indian players, they can go for Tripathi to build a squad that has plenty of options and depth.

4. Ben Cutting

Ben Cutting will be a good choice for Kolkata as a fast bowling all-rounder. He can bowl four overs and can deal some heavy blows down the order. If he’s picked, it will be very hard for other teams if he gets going with Andre Russell.

Ben Cutting could be a good option for KKR.

3. Colin Ingram

Colin Ingram may surprise many. However, if KKR decide to open with Shubman Gill and Sunil Narine, Ingram can play a very important role in the middle order considering his record and experience in T20s. He can replicate the role of the now-released Robin Uthappa in the KKR lineup.

2. Chris Green

Chris Green is one of the most underrated cricketers in the shortest format of the game. He is an exceptional bowler in both the powerplay and death overs, limiting the scoring rate and taking wickets. Also, he is capable of scoring runs down the order. He is a perfect replacement for Piyush Chawla.

1. Martin Guptill

After releasing Lynn, KKR need someone to fill the opening slot. Martin Guptill is one of the best in the business right now. Guptill, released by SRH this year, will have a point to prove. The Kiwi opener is known for his explosive batting at the top and can really give the Knight Riders a headstart in the powerplay with Narine. Of course, he is also one of the best fielders in the cricketing world, which is key in T20s.

AUS vs PAK 1st Test Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

AUS vs PAK 1st Test Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | AUS vs PAK 1st Test Prediction Today | Australia vs Pakistan 1st Test Dream11

A new Australian men’s summer is about to kick off!

Oh wait, it already has. Remember?

Cricket Australia’s poor focus aside, fans will be treated to Steve Smith, along with David Warner, for the first time in a Test on home soil in nearly two years. Australia’s successful Ashes team has the chance to keep the momentum going, against a Pakistan side that has vowed to play fearless cricket in the quest of a breakthrough series win downunder.

Key to an Australia win

David Warner averages nearly 60 at home. The average sneaks up to over 60 in Brisbane. After a wretched Ashes campaign, Pakistan are plotting his downfall, seeking an opportunity to target Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith as early as possible.

As good as those two were in the Ashes, Australia can’t afford to always rely on them. Warner and Joe Burns will be key in overcoming the guile and pace of Pakistan’s attack, paving the way for the brilliant Steve Smith in particular to go about his business. Can Australia set a strong platform for their middle order to pounce?

AUS vs PAK 1st Test Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | AUS vs PAK 1st Test Prediction Today | Australia vs Pakistan 1st Test Dream11
AUS vs PAK 1st Test Preview Dream11: Steve Smith is back home.

Also, Australia welcomes home their excellent bowling attack. World number one, Pat Cummins, fresh off 29 wickets in an incredible Ashes campaign, has the Pakistani batsmen in his sight. So do Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, who have been in excellent red-ball form of late. Can the Aussie seamers, along with Lyon, dismantle Pakistan’s best players, including Babar Azam, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq?

Key to a Pakistan win

A few big questions await Pakistan. The first, and very pressing, is whether they can get the better of Steve Smith. Coach Misbah has instructed his team to target his ‘blind spot’, but actions speak louder than words.

Rhythm and consistency is so crucial for Pakistan on a ground where touring teams can go for quick runs. Mohammad Abbas is key to that, with his pace-partners out to provide the fireworks. If Pakistan can get to Australia’s middle order early enough, who knows what may happen.

However, another big question is how Pakistan’s batting lineup will handle the Australian attack. There were a few hiccups from the top order in their recent tour games, relying on Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq to pile on the runs. Such an occurrence here can lead to disaster, so the onus is on the top order to pave the way for Babar in particular to have a big one.

AUS vs PAK 1st Test Preview Dream11: Can Babar go big?

Possible Playing 11

Whether he is the best since Bradman is up for debate, but one thing for sure is that Steve Smith is pivotal to Australia’s Test team. He and Warner return for their first Test on home soil in nearly two years. Also, Joe Burns is set to open, with Head and Wade to take up two spots in the middle order.

Australia: 1. David Warner, 2. Joe Burns, 3. Marnus Labuschagne, 4. Steve Smith, 5. Travis Head, 6. Matthew Wade, 7. Tim Paine (c & wk), 8. Pat Cummins, 9. Mitchell Starc, 10. Nathan Lyon, 11. Josh Hazlewood

Also read: Keen Blogger/Writer? A 2020 Guide into Writing Cricket Blogs

Naseem Shah is set to make his debut. Iftikhar Ahmed could slot in at six, with skipper Azhar Ali to open.

Pakistan: 1. Shan Masood, 2. Azhar Ali (c), 3. Haris Sohail, 4. Babar Azam, 5. Asad Shafiq, 6. Iftikhar Ahmed, 7. Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 8. Yasir Shah, 9. Naseem Shah, 10. Shaheen Shah Afridi, 11. Mohammad Abbas/Imran Khan

Pitch and Conditions

Brisbane was impacted by severe thunderstorms in the past week. But, the forecast for the Test is all clear. In regards to the pitch, expect to see pace and bounce, as often the case at the ‘Gabba. Seamers who pitch the ball up with a hint of movement could have plenty of success.

Stats and Facts

  • Australia have not lost a Test at the ‘Gabba since 1988. Pakistan have never won a Test series downunder, and have lost their last 12 Tests in Australia.
  • Steve Smith in Brisbane: 5 Tests, 571 runs, average: 71.88. Incredibly, he averages 77.25 in 29 home Tests. Also, he needs 27 to reach 7,000 in Tests. He has six innings to break the record for fastest to the mark.
  • Nathan Lyon enjoys Brisbane’s bounce: 8 Tests, 33 wickets, average: 27.70.
  • Pat Cummins fares even better: 2 Tests, 14 wickets, average: 12.14.
  • Shan Masood and Babar Azam held their own as Pakistan were beaten 3-0 in South Africa in January. They scored a combined 429 runs.

Australia have not lost a Test in Brisbane since 1988.

Much of Pakistan’s lineup wasn’t even born then. While they have plenty of talent, Australia’s experience and familiarity in these conditions should hold them in great stead. Australia to win.

IPL 2020 Auction: 5 Players RCB Can Target for IPL 2020

5 Players that RCB can go for in the IPL 2020 Auction | How could the RCB squad look like for IPL 2020 season? | 5 Players RCB can Buy for IPL 2020

This article is part of an IPL Auction series, where we explore each team. Also check out the players CSK, DC, KXIP, KKR, SRH and RR could look at buying!

Royal Challengers Bangalore, in an attempt to stem the underachievement, have released the most number of players this year (12). Of course, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers remain crucial to their chances, but they need to rely on them less.

Indeed, they have to build a balanced squad with plenty of good players. With a heavy purse available before going into the auction, let’s take a look who are the top five players they can go for:

5. Deepak Hooda

Yes, You saw that right, Deepak Hooda! Hooda can be a very good pick for RCB as he is known for batting aggressively down the order. Moreover, he can also chip in with few overs and wickets with his gentle off spinners.

Hooda, being an local player in the IPL, can give Virat Kohli freedom of playing any specialist overseas player while worrying less about the late hitting duties. In addition, Hooda is also a very good asset in the field.

Deepak Hooda could be given lots of freedom to fire at RCB

4. Pat Cummins

The recent form of Pat Cummins is absolutely amazing in all formats. He is taking wickets for fun and can be very good choice for RCB considering bowling is their weak suit. His performance against India in India earlier in 2019 was very good (he was the highest wicket taker from Australia).

The addition of Cummins can be a massive plus for RCB.

5 Players that RCB can go for in the IPL 2020 Auction | How could the RCB squad look like for IPL 2020 season? | 5 Players RCB can Buy for IPL 2020
Pat Cummins has had a superb 2019.

3. Chris Morris

The South African all-rounder is a very good option for RCB as he can take wickets and has the ability to hit the ball long. He can be very valuable seeing the problems that RCB has had in past few seasons with finishing the innings on both the batting and bowling fronts.

Chris Morris is a wicket taker.

2. Chris Lynn

We all know how destructive Chris Lynn is. After released by KKR, along with 30-ball 91 very recently, he is a great choice for RCB at the top of the order. With Parthiv Patel capable of batting down the order, Lynn and Virat can go berserk in the powerplay.

5 Players that RCB can go for in the IPL 2020 Auction | How could the RCB squad look like for IPL 2020 season? | 5 Players RCB can Buy for IPL 2020
Chris Lynn can be mighty dangerous at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

1. Chris Jordan

The biggest problem for RCB has been their bowling, especially at the death. They have tried many options, but have fallen short time and time again in the crunch overs.

With Mitchell Starc ruling himself out of the IPL Auction, Chris Jordan would be a great choice for RCB to pursue. NZ vs ENG 1st Test Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

NZ vs ENG 1st Test Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | NZ vs ENG 1st Test Dream11 Match Prediction Today | New Zealand vs England 1st Test Dream11 Prediction

Ah, New Zealand and England. England, the heart-breakers. New Zealand, the fighter that suffered heartbreak but will continue to come back for more.

The rivalry has one more chapter in 2019. Test cricket.

Now, this series is not part of the World Test Championship. Who knows why. But, New Zealand, the world’s second-ranked Test side, have a score to settle. In a format they are very good at. So good that they have lost just three Tests out of 18 since the beginning of 2017, including demolishing England for 58 a year-and-a-half ago.

England, on the other hand, are perennial slow starters. Including their difficult outing in Auckland in March 2018, England have lost the first Test in four of their eight Test assignments. Moreover, the games they did win were shaky, such as Ireland (85 all-out) and India (saved by Sam Curran). They will be after a big start in Mount Maunganui.

Key to a New Zealand win

New Zealand’s Test success over the past few years has been around keeping together a core group of players. Tom Latham, who enjoyed a superb series in Sri Lanka this year, along with Jeet Raval, will be tasked with negotiating the England onslaught early.

It is a tough ask with Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer so prolific in the recent Ashes series. But, if New Zealand are to ensure Kane Williamson has an impact, their best chance is reducing the pressure on him as much as possible. With Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls and BJ Watling also in the middle order, skipper Williamson has plenty of cushion around him.

NZ vs ENG 1st Test Preview Dream11: Kane Williamson will be key.

Arguably New Zealand’s biggest avenue to victory, however, is preying on the inexperienced England batting. Tested to the full by the Australians, Rory Burns did walk out of the Ashes with his reputation enhanced. Joe Denly fought as hard he could. Those two, along with likely debutant Dominic Sibley, make up a top three that the Black Caps will target with swing bowling to savour.

With England often relying so much on their middle order, particularly Root and Stokes, New Zealand will be out to target them as early as possible.

Key to an England win

Joe Root, batting at three in the Ashes, was effectively an opener for most of the series. How England’s top three handles the swing and guile of New Zealand’s pacemen will make for interesting viewing. Indeed, if they can weather the original storm, the likes of Root, Stokes, Ollie Pope and Jos Buttler can build on the platform.

Also, while New Zealand can claim to have a fine bowling attack, so can England. Even without James Anderson, England possess threat and pace in equal measure, in the form of 467-wicket veteran Stuart Broad and the rested Jofra Archer. Can it be England who find their way to New Zealand’s middle order faster than the Black Caps can get into theirs?

Possible Playing 11

New Zealand are largely settled. Lockie Ferguson, touted as a possible debutant, has been released to play domestic cricket.

New Zealand: 1. Jeet Raval, 2. Tom Latham, 3. Kane Williamson (c), 4. Ross Taylor, 5. Henry Nicholls, 6. Colin de Grandhomme, 7. BJ Watling (wk), 8. Mitchell Santner, 9. Tim Southee, 10. Trent Boult, 11. Neil Wagner

Dominic Sibley is in line for a Test debut after a century in the first tour match. Also, Joe Root is set to bat in his preferred position at four, with Ollie Pope finally, and deservedly, back in the fold. Also, there are murmurs Sam Curran will beat Chris Woakes for a spot in the bowling attack.

England: 1. Rory Burns, 2. Dominic Sibley, 3. Joe Denly, 4. Joe Root (c), 5. Ben Stokes, 6. Ollie Pope, 7. Jos Buttler (wk), 8. Sam Curran/Chris Woakes, 9. Jack Leach, 10. Jofra Archer, 11. Stuart Broad

Pitch and Conditions

The weather looks to be all clear for the five days. This is the first Test to be held at Mount Maunganui. Early reports suggest the pitch could have some assistance for the bowlers. However, as most pitches in New Zealand, it could become better for batting as the game goes on.

Stats and Facts

  • England have not won a Test in New Zealand since March 2008.
  • Both Kane Williamson and Joe Root average 38 in nine matches against each other.
  • Stuart Broad in New Zealand: 30 wickets at an average of 26.
  • Tim Southee and Trent Boult have a combined 90 wickets against England.
  • This will be the first Test in Mount Maunganui.

Match Prediction

New Zealand have lost just one match at home since the beginning of 2017. With England often starting series slowly, New Zealand should be backed to perform well in this Test.

New Zealand to win.

IPL 2020 Auction: 5 Players SRH Can Target For IPL 2020

5 Players that SRH can go for in the IPL 2020 Auction | How could the SRH squad look like for IPL 2020 season? | 5 Players SRH Can Target for IPL 2020

This article is part of an IPL Auction series, where we explore each team. Also check out the players KKR, KXIP, CSK, DC, RCB and RR could look at buying!

Sunrisers Hyderabad, the 2016 IPL champions, have released five players this year.

They have arguably the best bowling attack in the tournament, but they still lack good finishers to go with their heavy top order. Keeping that in mind, here are the top five players SRH can go for in the IPL Auction next month.

5. Dhruv Shorey

Released from CSK, Dhruv Shorey has been performing consistently in the domestic circuit. He has the ability to hit the ball long.

He can be a cheap buy for SRH and can be the perfect replacement for Yusuf Pathan, who has been released by SRH this year. Shorey can show his class if given the opportunity.

4. Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch can be picked up as a backup opener in case someone is injured or not available for the whole season like Jonny Bairstow last year. Also, with Martin Guptill now released, Finch is a great option for SRH.

The current form of the Australian skipper in T20Is is very good and he’s been known for striking the ball hard. He is slightly underrated in the IPL and can really make his name if he gets to play for the Sunrisers. After all, he is holder of a special T20 record.

Aaron Finch can be a good purchase for SRH.

3. Stuart Binny

This may suprise many, but SRH can go for Stuart Binny. The reasons? They have four overseas players almost locked in and need an Indian player who can bat with a high strike rate and can bowl a few overs, too.

Stuart Binny has been known for playing aggressively and with a strike rate of 175 in the previous season, he can be a good pick for the Sunrisers.

2. Glenn Maxwell

Englishman Liam Livingstone originally made this list. However, with his decision to pull out of the IPL to focus on red ball cricket, a spot has opened up for another all-rounder.

That man is Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell, who would also work wonders for CSK, could be the player that SRH needs in IPL 2020. With Shakib out and Mohammad Nabi in scratchy form of late, Maxwell can provide some crucial overs with the ball. However, more importantly, he can help finish the innings well – something SRH have struggled with.

1. David Miller

Finishing the innings has been the biggest problem for SRH for quite some time now. Who else will be the best pick for them apart from The “Killer” Miller? Everyone knows how destructive he can be on his day and can make up for the finishing skills SRH lacks.

Miller can be the perfect pick for Sunrisers Hyderabad given that their bowling attack can restrict teams.

So, this was our choice of players that SRH can go for this Auction.

Tell us how you like them and which players you’d like to join the Orange Army.

Funny Cricket Tweets Nov 2019 week 2

Funny Cricket Tweets Nov 2019 week 2 | 15 funny cricket tweets from the second week of November 2019

How quickly do the weeks roll by?

They seem to fly by quicker than India Test matches these days. Moreover, with it very easy to lose track of time on Twitter, the time seems to go even quicker. But, with this comes funny tweets, as always.

In a week where IPL 2020 talk is heating up at the same time as the return of Test cricket, here are 15 funny cricket tweets for your enjoyment.

1. “The impossible just became possible”

Before India’s huge win over Bangladesh in the first Test, the Indians had the task of winning the T20I series against the Tigers.

Poor Royal Challengers Bangalore fans can never escape the banter even during the IPL off-season, with @vaishali_45 reminding everyone of Rohit Sharma’s incredible achievement. Three RCB bowlers in defending a total? Rohit can do it all.

2. Poor RCB x2

With teams releasing players ahead of next month’s IPL Auction, one team that took more time was… you guessed it – RCB.

@sairammurthy6 does not only have the sense of humor, but an incredible eye for the future. Hours later, RCB released 12 players. Talk about a cyclone.

3. Poor RCB x3

You might think that it is unfair to simply target RCB. But, with such rich RCB content on Twitter, how could one not like it?

Again, before RCB released 12 players, fans had their say. But, instead of predicting things, @mufaddal_vohra simply chose to depict what management was doing. Meme content* at its finest.

*denotes final RCB-related tweet of this edition.

4. “What’s the yelling for?”

Ah, the cat meme. If you haven’t seen this online during the past week or so, I wonder how you managed it.

@CSKian716 is a regular in funny tweets. When you see her account, you can see why. The BCCI has a very poor social media presence when you consider how passionate its audience is. The lack of quality content is obvious, and everyone is shouting.

But, BCCI, like the cat, is truly shocked.

5. Very cheeky

The ultimate show of kindness? MS Dhoni to New Zealand, leaving the ball with 71 needed from 45 balls in a World Cup Semi Final.

Dhoni did threaten late to get India home, but this is absolutely hilarious from @Ojasism.

6. Get that lottery ticket

Surprised Cameron Bancroft was picked in the Australia Test squad? So was he.

In the words of @Wesley000051, if Bancroft does take a lottery ticket, the major jackpot is his! He was certainly very lucky to make the squad.

7. Easy there, Stuart…

Stuart Broad might have had the same grin putting this tweet together as he had when seeing David Warner walk out to bat in the recent Ashes series.

To answer his question, we do walk. Away with the Ashes. A response to savour from @_itsashleeee_.

8. Thank you, sir

Rajasthan Royals spent big on Jaydev Unadkat. After two seasons of disappointment, he has been released. As has Dhawal Kulkarni.

@NewGenFan perhaps speaking on behalf of every RR fan. Let the good times (and happy tears) roll?

9. You get bantered, you get bantered, everyone gets bantered

https://twitter.com/ArmanMonaco/status/1194666278109106176?s=20

RCB’s early inactivity didn’t go unnoticed. As was the case with Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Team management was fast asleep, just as viewers of SRH matches when the SRH middle order was at the crease in IPL 2019. Quality stuff from @ArmanMonaco.

10. None.

CSK have the opportunity to buy one or more of Eoin Morgan, Glenn Maxwell, Jimmy Neesham and Chris Jordan in the upcoming IPL Auction.

We forgot one key thing, that @Benny_Rajan reminded us of. They are all under 35!

11. Really no point…

https://twitter.com/pull_playlist/status/1196309936986148869?s=20

Virat Kohli loves batting. He loves winning. But most of all, he loves his promotions.

@pull_playlist offered a solution but quickly realised that a second account is just a waste of a Twitter handle. The two thumbs up emojis had me done. Done. Chandler Bing would have been proud of that sarcasm!

12. Wait, here are his personal shots

@CrickyTweets came to the rescue. An account for personal photos already exists. His wife and Bollywood superstar Anushka Sharma. Hilarious stuff.

13. Siddle wants more memorable moments

Babar Azam carries his team so well that he could lead a nation. At least that’s what Peter Siddle thought.

His magnificent hat-trick in 2010 is not only what he wants to be remembered for. Siddle wants to give us all a laugh. And @taimoor_ze provided us with it.

14. Keep trying, Pooran

Nicholas Pooran was banned for four T20Is for “changing the condition of the ball” in the third ODI vs Afghanistan.

It was a good effort by Pooran, but he has the master to learn from. Who could ever forget this from Shahid Afridi? Funny stuff from @Waqas992!

15. Best till last?

Are you a little immature like me? Then you will like this from @iBleedGreenZEE. From Coolie to Pandey, enjoy four funny names in cricket. Laughs!
