WI vs IRE Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: T20 World Cup 2022 Match 11 | WI vs IRE Dream11 Prediction Today | Hobart Pitch Report
The winner goes through. Whoever loses has to pack their bags for home. This virtual knockout is fitting for the final day of a round one stage that has kept us on edge all week, highlighted yesterday by Namibia’s stunning elimination at the hands of UAE.
So, West Indies need to be wary. Their first up defeat against Scotland was so bad that many questioned their desire to succeed in this tournament. They were on a similar path against Zimbabwe, but sheer will and desire, coupled with magnificent bowling by Alzarri Joseph, got the men in maroon over the line. The sheer emotion and relief after the match showed how much it meant, and backing up that effort with another is key.
Ireland are in the same boat. Victory here will seal qualification, which will be a terrific effort considering the position they were in. The Irish were on the brink of elimination as Curtis Campher and George Dockrell began their innings, but the two all-rounders combined for one of the great T20 World Cup partnerships to keep their campaign alive.
The key questions ahead of this clash are three-fold. First, the weather. The forecast is for a mostly sunny day, with rain expected at night. Second, the West Indies’ middle overs’ batting has been woeful, losing a total of 11 wickets between overs 7-15 in this tournament. So, can Ireland take advantage? Third, can Ireland’s misfiring top order face up to the in-form Alzarri Joseph and Jason Holder?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
West Indies:
- Alzarri Joseph is in the form of his life. After a great CPL 2022 campaign (18 wickets) and two-match series against Australia (five wickets), Joseph has taken six wickets in two matches in this World Cup.
- Jason Holder is also crucial for the Windies. The seamer has combined figures of 5/26 in 6.2 overs in this World Cup, with the Hobart conditions certainly to his liking.
- It’s time for Nicholas Pooran to step up. The Windies captain has scored just 47 runs in his last nine T20 knocks, including 5 and 7 in this World Cup.
- Johnson Charles top scored for West Indies against Zimbabwe (45). The opener was looking good for more before he was run out.
- Akeal Hosein has gone wicketless in just five of his last 25 T20 Internationals. Spinners have enjoyed some success at Hobart in this World Cup, so the Windies will be hoping that Hosein can deliver.
Ireland:
- Curtis Campher is coming off one of the great all-round performances: 2/9 and 72* (32). Given the Windies have been horrible in the middle overs, Campher has the ability to strike in this period.
- George Dockrell has been dismissed just once in his last seven T20I innings. His scores in that period: 10*, 25*, 58*, 41*, 7*, 24, 39*
- Like Pooran for West Indies, it’s a big game for Paul Stirling. The Ireland opener has scored just 28 runs in his last nine innings across the Hundred, CPL and T20 World Cup.
- Josh Little is Ireland’s leading wicket-taker this year (32) in just 21 matches. He is striking every 14.6 deliveries, and the Windies have lost 17 wickets in their two matches in this tournament so far.
- Mark Adair has taken one wicket in all three stages so far in this T20 World Cup. He is Ireland’s second-highest wicket-taker this year with 24 scalps in 22 matches at an average of 26.66 and strike rate of 18.8.
Other Stats and Facts
- Head-to-head: Matches 7, West Indies 3, Ireland 2, N/R 2.
- Ireland beat West Indies 2-1 in an ODI series back in January. Harry Tector scored three consecutive half-centuries in that series.
- Odean Smith finished with a strike rate of 227.02 in that same ODI series against Ireland (84 runs off 37 balls).
- Paul Stirling has been dismissed by left-arm seam thrice in his last five matches. Obed McCoy will fancy this matchup.
Bellerive Oval Hobart Pitch Report and Weather
There is a chance of rain at night in Hobart, but the forecast during the day is more promising. Hopefully, there should be a full game even with some clouds around.
The team batting first has won three of the four matches at Hobart in this World Cup. The average first innings score is 165.75 on what is a nice batting surface.
