Zimbabwe have been outstanding in this ICC World Cup Qualifier, so much so they can taste a return to the showpiece ODI tournament. They not only have been ruthless in the games in they were expected to win, but they showed great fight in their superb – and crucial – victory over West Indies.

However, this is where things heat up. Any slip up against Oman and the likes of Netherlands, Scotland and dare we say West Indies will be ready to pounce. Victory against Oman will put the Zimbabweans in a terrific position, and they will be expected to do so in front of what will be another raucous crowd, this time in Bulawayo.

So, will this expectation spur on or burden Zimbabwe? Remember, Oman pulled off an incredible victory over Ireland earlier this tournament, so the belief will be there that they can trouble the hosts. In terms of their qualification hopes, they will need a miracle, but all they can focus on for the moment is producing strong cricket for as long as possible.
