BAN vs ZIM 2nd T20I Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | BAN vs ZIM 2nd T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20I Preview Dream11 | BAN vs ZIM 2nd T20I Key Players | Pitch Report
It was a change in format, but the narrative remained the same.
Bangladesh were once again too strong for Zimbabwe, notching up a comfortable 48-run win in the opening T20I. Liton Das continued his strong form, while Soumya Sarkar, playing in his first match across formats this tour, slammed 62* at a strike rate of 193.75.
Where to now for Zimbabwe? Their attack has been unable to stop the flow of runs, leaving too much for their batsmen to do. The decision to win the toss and bowl last game backfired badly, so it is important they head into this game with a clear mindset and approach.
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
- Liton Das’ scores vs Zimbabwe in this tour: 126* (105), 9 (14), 176 (143), 59 (39).
- Tamim Iqbal followed up his huge ODI series (two centuries) with 41 in the opening T20I. Tamim is now the equal-highest run-scorer in BAN-ZIM T20Is among players in the two squads (191, avg. 23.87).
- But, the star of the show was Soumya Sarkar. Bangladesh made a big call to leave out the talented Mohammad Naim, but Soumya responded with 62* (32).
- Brendan Taylor (avg. of 11.16 vs Bangladesh) and Craig Ervine (avg, of 13.50 vs Bangladesh) were out cheaply in the first match. They must step up.
- Sean Williams is Zimbabwe’s highest run-scorer vs Bangladesh among active players (140), but averages just 12. Sikandar Raza, another key player, averages 9.87 in eight games. So, it’s time Zimbabwe’s experienced men deliver.
- Mushfiqur Rahim only faced eight balls in the first T20I. But, he is in good touch, including 491 runs in the 2019 BPL at 70.14, SR 147.
- Mahmudullah has a superb record at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium: 20 innings, 477 runs, avg. 53.00, SR 137.86.
- Richmond Mutumbami has the most respectable record for this Zimbabwe squad against Bangladesh: 133 runs, avg. 26.60, SR 140.
- Mustafizur Rahman is now the leading wicket-taker in BAN-ZIM T20Is, alongside Shakib Al Hasan (13). He has reached this mark in just seven games, after taking 3/32 last match.
- Shafiul Islam (7 wickets in 4 games) and Aminul Islam (5 wickets in 2 games) enjoy playing against Zimbabwe.
- Mohammad Saifuddin has taken eight wickets in his last three games vs Zimbabwe across formats.
- Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams, who both went for a respectable 7.75 an over last game, need to take wickets as the seamers struggle for control.
- Al-Amin Hossain has the most wickets of any bowler in T20Is at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium (25 in 13 matches).
Stats and Facts
- Bangladesh have an 8-4 record against Zimbabwe.
- The average first innings score on this ground in the last six T20Is is 184.33. The team batting first has won five of those matches, with the team batting second averaging 153.83.
- Bangladesh reached 200 for the third time in T20Is, after scoring 215/5 vs Sri Lanka and 211/4 vs West Indies, both in 2018.

Possible Playing 11
Bangladesh could make a change or two if they wish to test their bench strength. Pace bowler Hasan Mahmud and/or left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed could be in line for a game.

Mirpur Pitch Report and Conditions
The Sher-e-Bangla track looked a good one for batting once again in the opening T20I. There was a bit of extra bounce for the bowlers, but all-in-all, the ball came onto the bat nicely.
The forecast is clear once again.

Match Prediction
Teams batting first generally do well on this ground. So, if Zimbabwe win the toss this time, they must bat first.
However, their experienced players need to step up if they are any chance to salvage the series. Bangladesh are strong favourites, and rightly so.
