Pakistan player reported and fined for allegedly misbehaving with female staff member at Sri Lankan hotel – report

A Pakistan player was reported and fined after allegedly misbehaving with a female staff member at Kandy’s Golden Crown Hotel.

According to an exclusive report published by Telecom Asia, the incident occurred before Pakistan’s final Super Eight match against Sri Lanka. Pakistan needed to win that match by a big margin to qualify for the semi-finals, but only won by five runs.

The fact a player would display inappropriate behaviour at any time – let alone before such a crucial game where focus is paramount – is sure to disappoint Pakistan supporters, should the news be verified.

Pakistan player allegedly misbehaves towards female hotel member, likely to face PCB inquiry

The report stated the player, currently unnamed, behaved inappropriately towards a female housekeeping staff member. She was reportedly shaken and called for help, before other staff intervened.

Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema subsequently apologised to the hotel staff once he was notified of proceedings. Golden Crown Hotel were reportedly furious and pushed for strong action to be taken, before Cheema imposed a fine on the player.

Despite this fine, the case is considered far from over. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to meet with the player shortly and could face further disciplinary action.

The information in the Telecom Asia article was derived from close sources to the platform. Names are being mentioned on social media, but nothing has been officially confirmed as yet.

ARY News has come under scrutiny by naming a player. The PCB has labelled the report as “baseless and fake news” and “strongly condems the broadcast of such unverified and misleading information.”

Below is the full statement.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board has taken serious notice of baseless and fake News aired by ARY News regarding a Pakistani left-arm fast bowler. The PCB strongly condemns the broadcast of such unverified and misleading information and views this act as malicious and irresponsible. The PCB reserves the right to take appropriate action against those involved in spreading false news”.

Salman Mirza, the player in question, took to social media to condemn the reporting.

“An absurd news is circulating on media and I strongly condemn this sort of cheap journalism,” Mirza wrote on his Instagram story.

“Any media house can’t air any unverified news. Pakistan Cricket Board has already denied this baseless and fake news, and I’m going to take legal action against Shahid Hashmi (journalist) who works for ARY News.

“This sort of filthy reporting must be banned and Government of Pakistan must take action against such people!”

IND vs ENG Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 2nd Semi-Final

Finn Allen’s remarkable innings against South Africa last night showed that anything is possible regardless of previous form in these big games. Tournament favourites India meet England in the 2nd semi-final of the 2026 T20 World Cup, and who knows what is in store with a spot in Sunday’s final up for grabs.

England, who stuttered their way to Super Eights qualification following nervy wins against Nepal and Italy, have regularly found ways to win even against more experienced opposition. They were in trouble against Sri Lanka before demolishing the co-hosts, before sealing an incredible escape against New Zealand last week.

Their strategy of batting depth has come to the fore with certain players stepping up in times of need. Harry Brook’s 51-ball 100 against Pakistan serves as a stark reminder of what he can deliver tonight, while Will Jacks has produced a mighty clutch tournament. The likes of Phil Salt, Jacob Bethell and Tom Banton are also players India need to restrict.

However, India possess plenty of firepower themselves that England must overcome. Sanju Samson has struck form at the best possible time, while Ishan Kishan is striking at 200+ in T20Is this year. Plus, India’s middle order has delivered the goods at different stages of this tournament.

India could feel quite confident after having their bad game already in this tournament. Also, their spinners may have some extra motivation after Michael Vaughan claimed England are better than their counterparts in the T20I format.

However, will the toss prove crucial? The team who bats first needs to produce an excellent performance to give themselves a chance of defending a score on a terrific batting ground.

T20 World Cup 2026 2nd Semi-Final: IND vs ENG Possible Playing XIs

England: 1. Phil Salt, 2. Jos Buttler (wk), 3. Harry Brook (c), 4. Jacob Bethell, 5. Tom Banton, 6. Sam Curran, 7. Will Jacks, 8. Rehan Ahmed, 9. Liam Dawson, 10. Jofra Archer, 11. Adil Rashid

Wankhede Stadium Mumbai Pitch Report and Weather

There is a green tinge on the Mumbai pitch ahead of this semi-final, but it should play nicely from a batting perspective. West Indies smashed 254/6 on this ground against Zimbabwe last week.

In night matches in this World Cup, the average first innings score is 174.43.

A warm and clear night is forecast in Mumbai with no chance of rain. As a result, there is the possibility of dew, so batting second will be preferred despite teams batting first winning three of four night matches at the Wankhede in this tournament.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for IND vs ENG: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper picks:

  • Sanju Samson is fresh off his greatest innings, smashing 97* off 50 balls to guide India home against West Indies. Samson averages just 10.20 in five T20Is against England, but he is in outstanding form.
  • Ishan Kishan is striking at 205.1 in T20Is this year (439 runs, avg. 39.9).

Key batter picks:

  • Harry Brook has the ability to take the game away from India. He recently scored an outstanding 51-ball 100 against Pakistan. The England captain averages just 19.00 in nine innings against India, but he can go big in good batting conditions.
  • Like Brook, Abhishek Sharma has the potential to own this game. He’s shown glimpses of form in recent games but is still far from his best. He smashed 135 against England last year and strikes at 219.68 in five matches overall, and has a superb head-to-head record against Jofra Archer (see below).
  • Suryakumar Yadav has a strike rate of 171.92 in 12 innings against England (349 runs, avg. 29.08). Also, Suryakumar has an outstanding record in all T20s at the Wankhede: 41 inns, 1,485 runs, avg. 45.00, SR 164.6.

Top allrounder picks:

  • Hardik Pandya has the second-most wickets in IND-ENG T20Is (19) at a strike rate of 18. He also has the fourth-most runs (414) at an average of 29.57 and strike rate of 148.38. In addition, Hardik has plenty of experience at the Wankhede (793 runs, 36 wickets).
  • Will Jacks is arguably player of the tournament. He is striking at 176.85 with the bat (191 runs) and has seven wickets to his name. The all-rounder will be vital with the ball given India’s issues against offspin in this World Cup.

Key bowler picks:

  • Jofra Archer’s matchup against Sanju Samson is crucial. Archer has dismissed Samson three times in 23 balls (25 runs). Overall, Archer has 14 wickets against India at an average of 28.14 and strike rate of 18.85.
  • Jasprit Bumrah has enjoyed past success against England. The pace bowler has nine wickets in five T20Is at a superb average of 9.11 and economy of 5.34. His matchup against the out-of-form Jos Buttler is a good one: 88 balls, 79 runs, four wickets (all T20s).
  • Varun Chakravarthy dominated England in last year’s T20I series, taking 14 wickets in five T20Is at a remarkable average of 9.85 and strike rate of 7.71. He has excellent head-to-head records Jos Buttler and Harry Brook (see below).

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Axar Patel is selected in 31.42% of Dream11 teams. He can be an excellent differential pick. In T20Is, he has dismissed Jos Buttler twice in 33 balls (43 runs) and Phil Salt once in seven balls (five runs).
  • Adil Rashid has the most wickets for England in this World Cup (11). He took 2/16 off four overs against West Indies on this ground earlier in the World Cup.
  • Sam Curran has plenty of fantasy potential as he bowls in the crunch overs. His batting, however, has lacked impact in this World Cup with a strike rate of 119.20.
  • Shivam Dube is an excellent spin-hitter and can finish the innings well for India. In a high-octane game, there is the possibility he gets batting time, especially if India bats first.
  • Phil Salt averages just 14.28 in seven innings against India. But, an attacking weapon at the top of the order can hurt India, especially if England chase.

Other Stats and Important Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 29, India 17, England 12.
  • Ishan Kishan has a modest record at the Wankhede in all T20s: 31 inns, 716 runs, avg. 23.1, SR 143.8.
  • Adil Rashid’s T20I record against India: 17 inns, 14 wickets, avg. 32.71, SR 26.14.
  • Jofra Archer vs. Abhishek Sharma in T20Is: 33 balls, 61 runs, no wickets.
  • Axar Patel vs. Harry Brook in T20Is: 29 balls, 43 runs, no wickets.
  • Varun Chakravarthy vs. Jos Buttler in T20Is: 19 balls, 19 runs, three wickets.
  • Varun Chakravarthy vs. Harry Brook in T20Is: 18 balls, 28 runs, three wickets.
  • Sam Curran (bowling) vs. Hardik Pandya (batting) in all T20s: 23 balls, 55 runs, one wicket.
  • Jofra Archer vs. Hardik Pandya in all T20s: 60 balls, 83 runs, three wickets.

T20 World Cup 2026 2nd Semi-Final: IND vs ENG Match Prediction – Who will win?

The chasing team could have the advantage, but India look primed. England have won matches, but they need to go to another level to win this as errors they’ve made in this World Cup could prove costly against the favourites.

India to win.

SA vs NZ Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 1st Semi-Final

The business end of the 2026 T20 World Cup is here, and the 1st semi-final shapes up as a potential classic. Two nations gunning for their first World Cup title go head-to-head in a test of nerves and execution on the big occasion.

South Africa, the only unbeaten team, start as favourites. They thumped New Zealand earlier in the tournament, and boast a team full of in-form stars. Led by Aiden Markram, the Proteas bat deep and have a number of effective bowling options.

However, knockout pressure is a different beast. South Africa overcame their semi-final hurdle in the 2024 T20 World Cup as they rolled Afghanistan for 56 on a spicy Trinidad surface. This match is expected to be much closer, so how will the Proteas cope against a nation who has the upper hand against them in ICC knockout matches?

New Zealand should be raring to go after that loss against England last week. Costly decisions by Mitch Santner to bowl spin at the death saw the Black Caps lose the seemingly unloseable game, which gave Pakistan a lifeline.

Ultimately, Pakistan couldn’t capitalise, and New Zealand have the opportunity to right the wrongs. Tim Seifert and Finn Allen have the potential to put South Africa’s attack under pressure, while the middle order possesses plenty of know-how and experience.

But, can the New Zealand attack keep South Africa’s long batting lineup in check in good conditions? The Black Caps’ bowling has underwhelmed at times in this World Cup, so early wickets and execution is key in this big game.

T20 World Cup 2026 1st Semi-Final: SA vs NZ Possible Playing XIs

South Africa are settled. Keshav Maharaj, Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada should all return after missing the Zimbabwe match.

South Africa: 1. Aiden Markram (c), 2. Quinton de Kock (wk), 3. Ryan Rickelton, 4. Dewald Brevis, 5. David Miller, 6. Tristan Stubbs, 7. Marco Jansen, 8. Corbin Bosch, 9. Kagiso Rabada, 10. Keshav Maharaj, 11. Lungi Ngidi

Matt Henry landed in India last night after travelling back to New Zealand on paternity leave. Santner said Henry will have a run around in the morning and is hopeful he will be ready.

“If everything works out according to plan and stars align, he [Matt Henry] should be back the day before the semi-finals,” said New Zealand coach Rob Walters, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

“So, yeah, that’s what we’re hoping for. But obviously, we’ve got all contingencies covered if it doesn’t happen like that.”

New Zealand: 1. Tim Seifert (wk), 2. Finn Allen, 3. Rachin Ravindra, 4. Glenn Phillips, 5. Mark Chapman, 6. Daryl Mitchell, 7. Mitchell Santner (c), 8. Cole McConchie, 9. Matt Henry/Kyle Jamieson, 10. Lockie Ferguson, 11. Jacob Duffy/Ish Sodhi

Eden Gardens Kolkata Pitch Report and Weather

Expect another magnificent batting pitch at Eden Gardens with the team who wins the toss to field first. The average first innings score here in this World Cup is 183.83, with India winning the only night game so far, chasing 196 against West Indies.

In this tournament, pace bowlers have taken 51 wickets on this ground at an average of 20.43 and economy of 8.53. Spinners have picked up 33 wickets at an average of 29.58 and economy of 9.04.

A clear evening is forecast with no chance of rain. The possibility of dew makes chasing the preferred strategy.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for SA vs NZ: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top wicketkeeper picks:

  • Tim Seifert is a dangerous player in these conditions and is NZ’s leading run-scorer in this tournament (216). He has scored 131 runs in four innings against South Africa at an average of 43.66 and strike rate of 129.70.
  • Ryan Rickelton has made a 20+ score in six of the seven matches in this World Cup. In all T20s this year, Rickelton has made 551 runs at an average of 42.4 and strike rate of 160.2.

Key batter picks:

  • Rachin Ravindra has shown glimpses of good batting form in recent matches. He has also taken seven wickets in his past two matches, although they were on Colombo’s spin-friendly tracks. That being said, he should bowl a few overs today.
  • David Miller can take advantage of New Zealand’s lack of specialist offspinner, as handy as Glenn Phillips is. Miller has been in good form of late and can influence this big game with his experience.

Top allrounder picks:

  • Aiden Markram is the third-highest run-scorer in this T20 World Cup (268), including a superb 86* (44) against NZ earlier in this World Cup. Overall, he averages 53.60 with a strike rate of 175.16 in the tournament.
  • Expect Glenn Phillips to play a key role against South Africa’s left-handers. He has taken two wickets in 41 balls against left-handers in this tournament at an economy of 7.90. Phillips also has scored 176 at an average of 44 and strike rate of 160.
  • Corbin Bosch is one of eight players to take 11+ wickets in this World Cup. He is striking every 12.54 deliveries and can hit big sixes down the order.
  • Marco Jansen took four wickets against New Zealand earlier in the World Cup. He has had some success against Seifert and Allen in all T20s (see below).

Key bowler picks:

  • Lungi Ngidi’s slower ball is a cheat code. He has 12 wickets in this tournament at a strike rate of 12.
  • Matt Henry is vital to New Zealand’s hopes. He has five wickets in three T20Is against South Africa at an average of 18.20 and strike rate of 12.40.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Quinton de Kock has had a relatively quiet tournament. He also averages just 13.50 in six T20Is against New Zealand and 9.4 in nine T20 matches at Eden Gardens. But, QdK is an experienced player and can deliver on the big stage.
  • Finn Allen is averaging just 18 against spin in this World Cup. But, spinners have found the going difficult at times at Eden Gardens and Allen can run riot in these good batting conditions.
  • Mitchell Santner is crucial to New Zealand’s hopes. How will he perform at Eden Gardens? Also, he has just three wickets in five T20Is against South Africa (avg. 54.33, SR 38.00). However, his batting form has been outstanding in recent times.
  • Lockie Ferguson has promising head-to-head records against Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton (see below).
  • Kagiso Rabada produced the goods in the crunch game against West Indies (2/22). He has taken five wickets at an average of 17.20 and strike rate of 14.40 against New Zealand in T20Is.
  • Dewald Brevis is South Africa’s second-highest run-scorer in this World Cup (173) at an average of 28.83 and strike rate of 151.75.

Other Stats and Important Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 19, South Africa 12, New Zealand 7.
  • New Zealand are unbeaten against South Africa in ICC knockouts: 2011 ODI World Cup Quarter-Final, 2015 ODI World Cup Semi-Final, 2025 Champions Trophy Semi-Final.
  • Aiden Markram has scores of 50, 18 and 47 in three T20s at Eden Gardens (SR 171.6).
  • Marco Jansen vs. Tim Seifert in T20Is: 2 balls, 6 runs, 1 wicket.
  • Marco Jansen vs. Finn Allen in all T20s: 27 balls, 40 runs, 3 wickets.
  • Lockie Ferguson vs. Quinton de Kock in all T20s: 23 balls, 32 balls, 3 wickets.
  • Lockie Ferguson vs. Ryan Rickelton in all T20s: 3 balls, 1 runs, 1 wicket.

Will Matt Henry play in the T20 World Cup semi-final against South Africa?

Matt Henry is a strong chance of featuring in New Zealand’s T20 World Cup semi-final against South Africa at Eden Gardens.

Henry travelled back to New Zealand following the Black Caps’ loss to England last Friday (February 27) for the birth of his second child. According to the Press Trust of India, Black Caps captain Mitchell Santner said Henry is travelling back to India.

“He is travelling back. Hopefully he’s good to go,” Santner said.

New Zealand hopeful Matt Henry will play in crunch T20 World Cup Semi-Final against South Africa in Kolkata

On March 1, New Zealand coach Rob Walter confirmed that Matt Henry returned home safely to be with his wife. He said that provided everything goes well, Henry should be back in India a day before the semi-final.

“Matt’s home – safe and sound. We’re dealing with nature – so we’re first and foremost just hoping that everything goes off smoothly with the birth of his child and that he’s able to celebrate that with his family,” Walter said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

“If everything works out according to plan and stars align, he should be back the day before the semi-finals. So, yeah, that’s what we’re hoping for. But obviously, we’ve got all contingencies covered if it doesn’t happen like that.”

Henry is a crucial cog in New Zealand’s team. The pace bowler is an excellent exponent of the powerplay overs, often extracting movement even on flat pitches. His qualities will be vital against South Africa’s strong top order.

Henry has taken seven wickets in the 2026 T20 World Cup at an economy of 7.41, largely on batting-friendly surfaces. Three of those wickets have come in the powerplay, where he is conceding just 6.62 runs per over.

Should Henry not make it, New Zealand have Jacob Duffy and Kyle Jamieson as the other pace-bowling options.

“I mean, Jacob Duffy’s been the one that missed out,” coach Walter said. “He’s been incredible for us over the last 18 months. So, it’s tough enough leaving him out of the team, really. If it does work out that unfortunately Matt can’t make it back, then absolutely [Duffy comes into contention]. [We have] very capable people sitting on the bench, Kyle Jamieson [for example]. So, we’ve got those bases covered, no doubt.”

Stuart MacGill blows up at Cricket Unfiltered co-host Andrew Menczel during live podcast in huge rant

Stuart MacGill has launched an extraordinary rant at co-host Andrew Menczel during Monday’s episode of the Cricket Unfiltered Podcast.

While discussing Australia’s upcoming Test commitments, including a highly-anticipated three-match tour of South Africa in October, Menczel and MacGill were speaking about hostile crowds. Menczel then referenced the scenes witnessed during Australia’s last tour in 2018, mentioning the treatment of Candice Warner.

“I do think the sexist treatment of Candice Warner by the South African crowds went way over the line,” Menczel said.

“Going in with Sonny Bill Williams masks to try and taunt Warner is low. That is low behaviour. It’s targeting his wife, which I think is pretty poor, and they can go pretty low.”

Stuart MacGill unleashes at co-host during Cricket Unfiltered Podcast episode

MacGill blew up, dismissing Menczel’s words in an extraordinary rant. The former legspinner took exception to the fact that Menczel would even mention the incident, calling him a “f***ing idiot” and “pig-headed”.

“Well I think it’s pretty low talking about it for starters, Menners. I think you didn’t need to go into details there. I think that’s s***. You’re a f***ing idiot. You shouldn’t go into details about things like this because you’re doing exactly the same as the crowd. OK,” MacGill said.

Things began to simmer further as Menczel said it wasn’t his intention. However, MacGill was enraged.

“No, not really, because they were taunting him” replied Menczel, before MacGill saw red, saying “No, no you are. Listen to me now, you’ve raised exactly the same issues, you’re saying the same thing that they did. And that is s***. So we’re not going to talk about that anymore.

“If we’re going to talk about issues to do with one particular player, we can say they’ve talked about personal issues relating to that player.

“Menners, what I want you to do right this minute, because otherwise this is going to be a very, very short-lived relationship, you need to respect players and their families a lot more than you do at the moment,” MacGill said.

“I do respect them … I felt sorry for her,” Menczel replied.

“Listen mate, listen. She’s a friend of mine as well. Listen, I feel sorry for you because you’re obviously so pig-headed because you do not realise you said exactly the same thing as the South African crowd. Exactly the same,” MacGill said.

“And if you cut that out, it’s the last time I ever work with you. You are a moron. Continue. Next topic.”

Menczel was trying to speak from his perspective, but MacGill was having none of it, even threatening to jump over the microphone.

“I won’t cut it out at all, I’ll leave it in. I just think you’re missing the point. You’re missing what I’m trying to say,” Menczel said.

“Move on, move on, move on, move on, move on. Listen, you muppet. When I say move on, I’m not saying keep talking about something,” MacGill replied.

“I may jump across the mic at any second,” he then said as Menczel said the former legspinner looked irritable.

After a few attempts to divert the conversation to Australia’s Test series against Bangladesh in August, a visibly surprised and stunned Menczel decided to end the episode.

“Australia are going up north for three… for two Test matches… actually you know what? That’s it for this episode. Thanks for joining us.”

Comments critical of MacGill’s behaviour during episode

As of 1:30pm Sydney time on Tuesday, the majority of comments on the YouTube video were critical of MacGill’s reaction.

“McGill behaving like a playground bully, what a shame,” wrote one fan.

“Could see exactly this sort of thing coming from a mile away as soon as MacGill came on board.. From the very first episode he was imposing himself on the discussion like it was his podcast and something heated like this always appeared to be just a matter of when.. Menners you need to cut him loose immediately.. The show was actually better before MacGill came into it anyway,” wrote another.

Menczel founded the Cricket Unfiltered Podcast in 2013. MacGill joined as co-host in January this year, but the relationship has quickly turned sour.

You can watch the interaction below from 19:10 onwards.

IND vs WI Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 52nd Match

Two teams with a very aggressive approach, India and the West Indies, will meet in the 52nd match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Eden Gardens, Chennai, will host this game on 1st March 2026 at 7 PM IST. It’s a do-or-die game for both teams to keep their semi-final hopes alive.

India defeated Zimbabwe in their last game, but they still failed to perform at their best as a side. Dropped catches helped them, while a few decisions like bowling Shivam Dube are some areas where they need to work on. Abhishek Sharma finally got going, but he still didn’t look at his fluent best.

The form of Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya form is their strength, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah also continued on their consistency. This is a must-win game for team India, and they’ll have to be on their toes against the Windies.

The West Indies, meanwhile, lost their last game against South Africa by nine wickets. Their batters continued their ‘go big or go home’ approach, and they found themselves struggling at 83-7 before Jason Holder (49 runs) and Romario Shepherd (52*) steadied the ship.

Shai Hope and Brandon King’s inconsistency at the top is a big concern for them, while the bowlers also looked helpless in the last match. Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, and Romario Shepherd will be the key batters for the two-time champions.

Bowling-wise, they need the likes of Shamar Joseph and Matthew Forde to deliver in this all-important encounter. Their batting depth is the main strength for the West Indies, and they’ll have to be at their best against a very strong Indian side.

This promises to be one of the best matches in the tournament as two explosive sides will lock horns in a virtual quarter-final.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 52nd Match: IND vs WI Probable Playing XIs

India: 1. Sanju Samson, 2. Abhishek Sharma, 3. Ishan Kishan (wk), 4. Suryakumar Yadav (c), 5. Tilak Varma, 6. Hardik Pandya, 7. Shivam Dube, 8. Axar Patel, 9. Jasprit Bumrah, 10. Arshdeep Singh, 11. Varun Chakaravarthy

West Indies: 1. Shai Hope (c & wk), 2. Brandon King/Johnson Charles, 3. Shimron Hetmyer, 4. Rovman Powell, 5. Sherfane Rutherford, 6. Roston Chase, 7. Jason Holder, 8. Romario Shepherd, 9. Matthew Forde, 10. Gudakesh Motie, 11. Shamar Joseph

Eden Gardens Kolkata Pitch Report and Weather

A good batting track with plenty of runs will await both sides. The ball will come onto the bat nicely, allowing the batters to play their shots. There will be something for the spinners, but the batters are expected to dominate this game. The average first innings score in Eden in 2026 (T20Is) is 181 runs, and chasing sides have won seven out of 16 games played here in the last five years.

The weather will be clear when the game starts. The temperature will be around 26 degrees Celsius and no rain is predicted.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for IND vs WI: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Ishan Kishan has 214 runs at an average of 35.66 and has struck at a rate of 186.08. He is getting his side off to a flying start in almost every match and will be a key batter for India at the top. He will be a good C/VC option as well.

Key batter picks:

  • Abhishek Sharma scored 55 runs in the last game after a string of low scores. He’ll be itching to continue his form from the last game and do well against the West Indies. He can decimate any bowling attack on his day. Abhishek is another good C/VC choice.
  • Suryakumar Yadav did well in the last game, and his side will expect more from him in this game and in the upcoming games if India qualifies. He plays all around the ground and has scored 213 runs at an average of 42.60, but his strike rate is on the lower side – 138.31. Surya will be an excellent C/VC pick.
  • Shimron Hetmyer has been the main man for the Windies with the bat. He has 221 runs in six games at an average of 44.20 and has struck at 182.64 with two fifties in this WC. He’s good against the spinners and will play a crucial role against the Indian spinners.
  • Sherfane Rutherford has been in terrific touch since the SA20 2025-26. He has been scoring runs consistently and averages 84.50 at a strike rate of 181.72 for his 169 runs in five innings this tournament. He will be a must in your fantasy teams.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Hardik Pandya is the backbone of the Indian team. He contributes in every game with both bat and ball. Hardik has 155 runs and 5 wickets in 6 matches. He will be an ideal C/VC choice, considering his all-round attributes.
  • Shivam Dube is bowling 2-3 overs in every game and has been in top form with the bat. He will be the key batter against the West Indian spin attack. He has five wickets and 158 runs in six matches so far. Try him as C/VC in some of your teams.
  • Jason Holder is in sublime touch with the bat, and twice he has scored crucial runs down the order for his team. He has 104 runs and eight wickets to his name till now. Holder will be a key bowler for his side with the new ball, as they must pick up early wickets if they are to win.
  • Romario Shepherd scored 52* runs in the last game. He’s one of the most aggressive batters going around and can turn the game on its head when on song. Shepherd will bowl 2-3 overs, as he can trouble the Indian batters with his hard lengths.
  • Roston Chase can trouble the Indian batters, as they’ve had their struggles against off-spin in recent times. Chase is a wily bowler and can be a threat to the Indian left-handers. He’s good against the spinners and can contribute with the bat too.

Key bowler picks:

  • Jasprit Bumrah has seven wickets in the tournament so far. He will pose a big threat to the West Indian batters as they like to attack the bowlers. Try him as C/VC in this match, as he can pick up wickets in clusters.
  • Varun Chakaravarthy is another threat to the West Indies considering how they like to bat. He can pick up 2-3 wickets easily if they go on to attack him. He’ll be an ideal C/VC pick too.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026, 52nd Match: IND vs WI Match Prediction: Who will win?

Both sides like to bat aggressively and take on the bowlers. The West Indies have insane batting depth, while India also bats very deep. The game will be decided on how the spinners perform from either of the two teams. The West Indies will have to take on Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy, and it may prove too much for them.

India to win.

SA vs ZIM Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 51st Match

South Africa will take on Zimbabwe in the 51st match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, on 1st March 2026, at 3 PM IST. It’s a dead rubber, as South Africa has already qualified for the playoffs, while Zimbabwe are out.

South Africa is the only undefeated side in the tournament. They have been in phenomenal form as a side with their batters and bowlers performing exceptionally well. Their top three are scoring runs consistently while the bowlers are playing as a unit.

The likes of Aiden Markram (264 runs), Quinton de Kock (171 runs), Ryan Rickelton (197 runs), and David Miller (146 runs) will be the pillars of their batting, while Lungi Ngidi (11 wickets), Marco Jansen (11 wickets), and Corbin Bosch (9 wickets) will lead the bowling.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe have had a poor Super 8 after an excellent group stage. The difference in their depth and experience was quite visible compared to the other sides, but this has been an inspiring campaign nonetheless. They defeated Australia and Sri Lanka, which is a great sign.

Brian Bennett (277 runs) scored a brilliant 97* in the last game against India. Sikandar Raza has also played well for his 133 runs. However, can the bowlers, who have conceded two 250+ scores in a row, keep South Africa in check?

Zimbabwe will look to play for pride and end their campaign on a winning note.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 51st Match: SA vs ZIM Probable Playing XIs

Zimbabwe: 1. Briant Bennett, 2. Tadiwanashe Marumani (wk), 3. Ryan Burl, 4. Sikandar Raza (c), 5. Dion Myers, 6. Tony Munyonga, 7. Tashinga Musekiwa, 8. Brad Evans, 9. Wellington Masakadza/Tinotenda Maposa, 10. Richard Ngarava, 11. Blessing Muzarabani

Arun Jaitley Stadium Delhi Pitch Report and Weather

The average first innings score is 160 runs, and chasing sides have won four of the five games played here. There will be something on offer for the spinners, but batters will enjoy here, as the wicket will be relatively flatter, and the small boundary dimensions will mean only one thing – runs.

The weather will be clear with no chance of rain, and the temperature will be around 22 degrees Celsius at the start of the game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for SA vs ZIM: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Quinton de Kock scored a quick-fire 47 in the last game. He is averaging 28.50 at a strike rate of 137.90 with one fifty in this World Cup. De Kock hasn’t been at his best, and it’ll be a good time for him to do that ahead of the semi-final. He’ll be a good C/VC choice too.
  • Ryan Rickelton has been in top form for the Proteas. He is a good batter against the spinners and has been very consistent. Rickelton has 197 runs so far, including a fifty. He scored 48* in the last game. Another good C/VC pick.

Key batter picks:

  • Dewlad Brevis will be a good pick from the batting section. He’s been far from his best, but he’s a match-winner on his day, and we saw that against India. He can decimate the spinners and likes to hit sixes for fun.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Marco Jansen has been bowling brilliantly. He’s picking up wickets consistently with his pace, bounce, and variations. Jansen has 11 wickets at a strike rate of 10.80. He will trouble the Zimbabwe batters. Try him as C/VC in this match.
  • Sikandar Raza has 133 runs and two wickets to his name so far. He’s been in good form in the last few matches and is the best player for his team. Raza will be determined to do well in this game.
  • Aiden Markram is in magnificent form. He is the third-highest run-scorer with 264 runs at an average of 66 and a strike rate of 178.37 with three fifties. He scored a match-winning 86* in the last game. Markram will be the best captain choice for this match.
  • Brian Bennett has shown his class in the tournament so far. He has scored runs in almost every game Zimbabwe has played except one. He’s the second highest run-scorer with 277 runs in five games and has been dismissed only once with three fifties to his name. He will be a top C/VC option.

Key bowler picks:

  • Lungi Ngidi is bullying the batters with his slower delivery. We saw that against India and in the last match against the West Indies. He has 11 wickets at an economy of just 6.80. He will be a top C/VC pick.
  • Blessing Muzarabani has 12 wickets at an economy of 7.80 and a bowling strike rate of 10. He’s picking up wickets in every game, but the fielders will need to support him well if Zimbabwe is to win this game.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Keshav Mahraj/George Linde
  • Brad Evans
  • Corbin Bosch
  • Richard Ngarava

Other Matchups and Facts

  • South Africa is undefeated in the tournament so far.
  • Sikandar Raza vs Lungi Ngidi (T20Is): 0 runs, 1 dismissal in 4 deliveries.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 51st Match: SA vs ZIM Match Prediction: Who will win?

South Africa will be the clear favourites to win this game, but this tournament so far has taught us that Zimbabwe are not to be taken lightly. But Zimbabwe is heavily reliant on a few batters for the bulk of the scoring, and that can turn out to be the decisive factor in this game.

South Africa to win.

What margin do Pakistan need to beat Sri Lanka by to qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup semi-finals?

Another ICC tournament, another net run rate scenario for Pakistan. England’s stunning win over New Zealand on Friday means Pakistan enter their final match against already-eliminated Sri Lanka with their tournament still alive.

However, the fact New Zealand lost narrowly means the Black Caps are still in the box seat to qualify for the semi-finals. Mitchell Santner’s team still boast a net run rate of 1.390 compared to Pakistan’s -0.461.

Scenario: Pakistan need to beat Sri Lanka by big margin to qualify for 2026 T20 World Cup semi-finals

To overtake New Zealand on net run rate, Pakistan need to win by 65 runs or chase any target in 13.1 overs. In both scenarios, Pakistan must bowl Sri Lanka out cheaply.

If Pakistan set a target of 180, they will need to bowl Sri Lanka for 115 or less. If they bowl first, limiting Sri Lanka to a similar kind of score gives them a chance of chasing it in 79 balls or less.

However, Pakistan also must deliver the kind of batting impact they’ve failed to produce for most of the tournament. Only Sahibzada Farhan and Shadab Khan have scored more than 100 runs for Pakistan in this World Cup, as the likes of Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha and Babar Azam have struggled to get going.

Sri Lanka’s awful form, though, gives Pakistan hope. The co-hosts batted terribly against England and New Zealand, losing the matches by 51 runs and 61 runs respectively.

The performances left Sri Lanka fans very disappointed. Dasun Shanaka acknowledged the embarrassing performances, while also pointing to public negativity as a reason for the team’s poor display. So, will Sri Lanka be motivated by pride in this match against Pakistan?

“It is very embarrassing to disappoint the home crowd. You know, they’ve been very supportive,” Dasun Shanaka said after the New Zealand defeat, as quoted by NDTV Sports.

“A lot of times what we see and hear are negative things. No matter how we as cricketers try to stay positive, there is negativity outside,” Shanaka said.

“That’s a big loss for Sri Lankan cricket. This is the only sport we have, and I don’t know if we’ll be able to protect it. If you look outside the stadium, you’ll see how many people are standing outside with mics, and people will say stuff without having watched the match.”

SL vs PAK Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – T20 World Cup 2026 50th Match

Sri Lanka and Pakistan will lock horns against each other in the 10th Super 8 contest (50th match) of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The match will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele, on 28th February 2026, at 7 PM IST.

Co-hosts Sri Lanka are already ruled out of the semifinal race. They lost their last game against New Zealand by 61 runs and are yet to win a game in the Super 8 round. Their batters disappointed in this tournament, as Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka carried the batting, and when they got out early, none of the other batters got going consistently.

Their bowling has been good with Dushamantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana, and Dunith Wellalage doing well. Defeating Australia by eight wickets is their only considerable achievement in the tournament, and they’ll be itching to sign off with a win.

Pakistan, meanwhile, got a lifeline as England defeated New Zealand from a bleak-looking situation, which gave Pakistan the chance to qualify for the semis if they win this game by a big margin.

They are having their own issues in batting, as no one apart from Sahibzada Farhan has performed for them. The situation is so bad that apart from Farhan, only Shadab Khan has scored 100+ runs in the tournament so far, and he’s their lower middle-order/finisher with the bat.

Bowling-wise, Shaheen Afridi showed signs of returning to form, and Usman Tariq has bowled well. They’ll need contributions from the other bowlers and batters if they are to win this game by either 64 runs or in 13.1 overs and qualify for the semi-final.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 50th Match: SL vs PAK Probable Playing XIs

Sri Lanka: 1. Pathum Nissanka, 2. Kusal Mendis (wk), 3. Charith Asalanka, 4. Pavan Rathnayake, 5. Dasun Shanaka (c), 6. Kamindu Mendis, 7. Dushan Hemantha, 8. Dunith Wellalage, 9. Dushmantha Chameera, 10. Maheesh Theekshana, 11. Dilshan Madushanka

The key question for Pakistan is where Babar Azam bats. Could they be tempted to open with him and drop Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha slightly down the order?

Also, do Pakistan play Abrar Ahmed? Conditions should suit him and he has nine wickets against Sri Lanka at an average of 14.33 and economy of 5.86.

Pakistan: 1. Sahibzada Farhan, 2. Saim Ayub, 3. Salman Ali Agha (c), 4. Babar Azam, 5. Usman Khan (wk), 6. Fakhar Zaman, 7. Shadab Khan, 8. Faheem Ashraf, 9. Mohammad Nawaz/Abrar Ahmed, 10. Shaheen Afridi, 11. Usman Tariq

Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch at Pallekele has been a good one for batting this tournament, but the spinners have dominated in the last couple of games. There will be grip and turn, and batters will have to work hard for their runs.

However, batters, once set, can play their shots. We should see a similar kind of wicket is for this game too. Scores in the range of 150-170 are expected, and teams may prefer chasing, but batting first will be a good option as well.

It will be a clear day at Pallekele with no chance of rain. The temperature will be around 21 degrees Celsius with 74% humidity at the start of the game.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for SL vs PAK: Players to Watch/Key Stats

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Kusal Mendis has scored three fifties in the tournament so far, but he’s failed to score when the team needed it the most. He averages 39.40 at a strike rate of 114.53 for his 197 runs. He will be the best option from the wicket-keeping section in fantasy cricket.

Key batter picks:

  • Pathum Nissanka has one hundred and one fifty to his name, and he has scored 208 runs in six games at an average of 41.60, striking at 152.90. However, nearly half of those runs came in one innings. He is capable of delivering here, though.
  • Sahibzada Farhan has 283 runs infive5 innings at an average of 70.75 at a strike rate of 158.10, with two fifties and one century to his name. He’s currently the highest run-scorer of the tournament and has been the best batter for Pakistan. He will be a top C/VC choice for your fantasy teams.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Saim Ayub has been in abysmal form with the bat, scoring just 70 runs in five innings. But he’ll bat at the top and bowl 3-4 overs consistently. So, he will fetch points, which makes him a good fantasy pick.
  • Shadab Khan will be a key batter in the middle order for Pakistan, as he’s the only one except Farhan who has shown some signs of good batting form. He will bowl 3-4 overs too and will be a good C/VC option as well. He has 111 runs and five wickets so far in the tournament.
  • Kamindu Mendis has 114 runs at a strike rate of 175.38 and has picked up two wickets too. He has batted aggressively and is expected to bowl a few overs in this game. Mendis is a good player of spin bowling and will be a key batter for his side.

Key bowler picks:

  • Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up four wickets in the last game against England. He picked wickets with the new ball, which is his strength. He also used variations assessing the conditions in the death overs. Afridi can go through Sri Lanka’s shaky top order on his day.
  • Usman Tariq will be the player you can’t miss out on. He is a wicket-taker and has 10 wickets in four innings at an economy of 6.32 and a bowling strike rate of just 9.3 in the ICC T20 WC 2026. The conditions will suit him, and he’ll be an excellent C/VC choice.
  • Maheesh Theekshana has 11 wickets in six games. He’s been the best bowler for Sri Lanka and will pose a threat to Pakistan’s struggling batting unit. The conditions will aid the spinners, and Theekshana can exploit that.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Dushan Hemantha
  • Mohammad Nawaz
  • Dushmantha Chameera
  • Babar Azam

Other Matchups and Facts

  • Pakistan must win this game by 61 runs or in 13.1 overs to overcome New Zealand’s net run-rate and qualify for the semifinals.
  • Sahibzada Farhan has two fifties in six T20Is against Sri Lanka (196 runs, avg. 39.20, SR148.48).

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 50th Match: SL vs PAK Match Prediction: Who will win?

Both teams have struggled with the bat so far and are heavily reliant on one or two batters to do the bulk of the scoring. Pakistan has more batting depth in their squad, and it can turn the game in their favour, especially considering the conditions.

Pakistan to win.

Eden Gardens Kolkata weather forecast for IND vs WI T20 World Cup match

India’s win over Zimbabwe – plus West Indies’ defeat against South Africa – has set the scene for a virtual quarter-final at Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens. The winner will qualify for the semi-final, and it shapes up as a cracking contest between two powerful teams.

Given the West Indies are ahead of India on net run rate, there have been a few queries on social media regarding the Kolkata weather as a no result means the Windies qualify. Here is a look at the forecast.

What is the Kolkata weather for the IND vs WI 2026 T20 World Cup match?

The Kolkata weather paints a positive picture for cricket fans. Clear skies are forecast for the next week, with a 0% chance of rain on March 1 according to Google, AccuWeather and BBC Weather.

It will be a warm day on Sunday with a top temperature of 33 degrees, which will drop to about 26 degrees at the start of the match. The clear conditions means there is the possibility of dew.

The average first innings score at Eden Gardens in this World Cup is 181.6. Teams batting first have won four of the five matches. However, the captain who wins the toss could choose to field given this is the first all-night game here in this tournament.

India and West Indies will meet in a T20I for the first time since 2023. The Windies won that five-match series 3-2 in the Caribbean and US. But, India have gone from strength-to-strength since, winning the majority of their matches and sealing the 2024 T20 World Cup title.

Both teams have a case to win this match. West Indies were previously unbeaten in this tournament before their loss to South Africa. India, after their own loss to South Africa which threatened to derail their campaign, got back on track with a huge win over Zimbabwe.

The match will begin at 7:00pm local time.
