IND vs ENG Dream11 Prediction Fantasy Cricket Tips Possible XI Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 29

IND vs ENG Dream11 Prediction Fantasy Cricket Tips Possible XI Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 29 | Lucknow Pitch Report

If matches were decided on form alone, we may as well skip this match. England, the biggest disappointment of this World Cup, travel to Lucknow to face unbeaten India, who come into this match off a week’s break.

Jos Buttler’s team have not only lost four from five matches, but have been thrashed in all four of their defeats. The latest was an abject, miserable display against Sri Lanka, managing just 156 in favourable batting conditions at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Following the loss, Moeen Ali said England have nothing to lose and may as well go all guns blazing.

However, India are on point. Their powerplay bowling has been superb, with their death-bowling also magnificent. Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja will surely test an England middle order struggling for confidence, and that’s before we talk of the superb form of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

In this article, we will look at some fantasy cricket tips, the possible playing XIs, and the Lucknow pitch report as part of our Dream11 fantasy coverage in this World Cup.

ODI World Cup 2023 Match 29: IND vs ENG Possible Playing XIs

Hardik Pandya will reportedly resume training this weekend, ruling him out of this match. Mohammed Shami, who took five wickets last game against New Zealand, could get another game.

India: 1. Rohit Sharma (c), 2. Shubman Gill, 3. Virat Kohli, 4. Shreyas Iyer, 5. KL Rahul (wk), 6. Suryakumar Yadav, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Mohammed Shami, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Jasprit Bumrah, 11. Mohammed Shami

England may look to shake things up with their batting order. One option is moving Jos Buttler higher and bringing Sam Curran back in the team. Also, Brydon Carse, who replaced the injured Reece Topley, may get a game.

England: 1. Jonny Bairstow, 2. Dawid Malan, 3. Joe Root, 4. Ben Stokes, 5. Jos Buttler (c & wk), 6. Liam Livingstone, 7. Chris Woakes/Sam Curran, 8. Moeen Ali, 9. David Willey, 10. Brydon Carse/Mark Wood, 11. Adil Rashid

IND vs ENG Dream11 Prediction: Fantasy Cricket Tips

India:

  • Rohit Sharma is in outstanding form. The captain has hammered 311 in five matches in this World Cup. Out of those runs, 197 have come in the first powerplay, where Rohit is striking at 134.
  • Shubman Gill has made three starts in this World Cup (16, 53, 26). Is this the day he goes big? The opener has smashed 1,963 runs at an average of 67.7 and strike rate of 103.8 in ODIs since the start of 2022.
  • Virat Kohli is back to his best. His chasing numbers are out of this world. In this World Cup, Kohli has hit 354 runs at an average of 118.00 and strike rate of 90.53.
  • Kohli has the fourth-most runs in IND-ENG ODIs (1,340) at an average of 43.22 and strike rate of 88.68. This includes nine fifties in three hundreds.
  • KL Rahul’s record when batting at number five in ODIs: 24 inns, 984 runs, avg. 57.88, SR 95.16. He has a middling record against England (9 inns, 210 runs, avg. 30.00, SR 88.23), but he has the form to turn this around if he gets the chance.
  • Mohammed Shami has taken a remarkable 36 wickets in 12 World Cup matches. This includes 5/54 in his last appearance against New Zealand.
  • Shami has an outstanding record against Buttler in ODIs. The seamer has dismissed the England captain five times for 57 runs in 60 balls.
  • Jasprit Bumrah has been supreme in the powerplay in this World Cup. He has total figures of 2/58 in 20 overs between overs 0 and 10. He is also a wicket-taking option at the death.
  • Bumrah has dismissed Joe Root twice in 38 balls in ODIs (36 runs).

England:

  • Dawid Malan is England’s leading run-scorer in ODIs this year. The left-hander has struck 811 runs at an average of 62.38 and strike rate of 99.14.
  • Is this the day Jonny Bairstow delivers a big score? The opener has a good record against India in ODIs: 16 inns, 627 runs, avg. 41.80, SR 104.84.
  • Joe Root has struggled since the second match of the World Cup and is in need of runs. He has scored 739 runs at an average of 46.18 and strike rate of 83.59 against India.
  • Jos Buttler has historically struggled against India in ODIs: 19 inns, 425 runs, avg. 22.36, SR 87.26.
  • England’s attack has been struggling for impact, so a lot depends on Mark Wood to deliver. The pace bowler has taken just three wickets in five matches in this World Cup at an average of 77.66, but he returns to his IPL home ground.

Other Stats and Facts

  • India have won four of their past six ODIs against England.
  • Jasprit Bumrah vs Jonny Bairstow in ODIs: 44 balls, 22 runs, one dismissal.
  • Ravindra Jadeja vs England: 24 inns, 38 wickets, avg. 24.63, econ. 4.86.
  • Adil Rashid vs India: 8 inns, 9 wickets, avg. 50.11, econ. 6.44. He has, however, dismissed Kohli three times in 116 balls (108 runs).

Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

The average first innings score at Lucknow in this World Cup is 260.67. There has been some spin available, but overall the surfaces have played quite well. In similar conditions, the team batting first will aim for closer to 300 with cutters into the wicket key for the bowlers.

A warm and mostly clear day is forecast with a top of 31 degrees.

List of top 5 highest successful run chases in ODI World Cups

Cricket News: List of top 5 highest successful run chases in ODI World Cups | What is the highest successful run chase in ODI World Cups?

The ICC Cricket World Cup has been filled with memorable chases over the years. Fast forward to the present 2023 edition, and teams need to achieve some of the highest-ever run-chases in World Cups given the skill and power on display.

Top 5 highest successful run chases in ODI World Cups

Here is a look at the top five successful run chases in ODI World Cups.

5. Sri Lanka 313/7 vs Zimbabwe, 1992

Sri Lanka’s successful pursuit of 313 against Zimbabwe in 1992 is the only instance of a 300+ score chased in a World Cup before 2000. Batting first, the Zimbabweans, led by legend Andy Flower’s 115*, hit an excellent 312/4. However, Arjun Ranatunga was at his damaging best, striking 88 off 61 balls to guide the Sri Lankans home with four balls to spare at New Plymouth.

4. Bangladesh 322/3 vs Scotland, 2015

Kyle Coetzer hit a magnificent 156 at Nelson but it wasn’t enough to seal victory for Scotland. Bangladesh, in a crucial game in the context of their 2015 World Cup quarter-final qualification hopes, chased down the 319-run target in an equal measure of professionalism and efficiency.

Tamim Iqbal led the way with 95, before Mahmudullah (62), Mushfiqur Rahim (60), Shakib Al Hasan (52*) and Sabbir Rahman (42*) also made crucial contributions.

3. Bangladesh 322/3 vs West Indies, 2019

Bangladesh again. This time in 2019. Shakib Al Hasan (124* off 99 balls) and Litton Das (94* off 69 balls) made a mockery of West Indies’ 321/8 at Taunton. The two combined for an unbroken 189-run stand in 22.3 overs to seal the chase easily with seven wickets and 51 balls to spare.

Highest run chases in ODI World Cups: Shakib Al Hasan was superb in 2019.

2. Ireland 329/7 vs England, 2011

One of the most famous World Cup matches of all time. Ireland, chasing 328, were all but gone at 111/5 in the 25th over. However, Kevin O’Brien had other ideas, producing one of the great performances in the history of ODI cricket to catapult the Irish to a famous victory.

He brought up his hundred in 50 balls before finishing with 113 off 63 balls. John Mooney (33 off 30 balls) and Trent Johnston (7 off 4 balls) sealed the chase with five balls to spare to spark jubilant celebrations at Bengaluru.

1. Pakistan 345/4 vs Sri Lanka, 2023

Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama took the Pakistani attack apart to lead Sri Lanka to 344/9. Then, Pakistan were then reduced to 37/2 in 7.2 overs, where the target looked a fair way away.

Then, it was all Pakistan as they pulled off the highest successful chase in men’s World Cups. Abdullah Shafique hit a classy 103-ball 113 on ODI World Cup debut. But, the man of the match was the ever-reliable Mohammed Rizwan, who overcame cramp to lead his team home with a superb 131* off 121 balls.

PAK vs SA Twitter Reactions: Keshav Maharaj breaks Pakistan hearts

PAK vs SA Twitter Reactions: Keshav Maharaj breaks Pakistan hearts | Twitter reactions to an outstanding game between Pakistan vs South Africa at Chennai

Fans had been asking for a thriller in this World Cup. And Pakistan vs South Africa delivered in spades. The Proteas broke Pakistani hearts in the most thrilling of finishes, as Keshav Maharaj, who finished with a nerveless 7 off 21 balls, sealed a one-wicket win in front of a strong crowd at Chennai.

Pakistan, whose best chance at victory was batting first, posted 270 on a surface offering some turn for the spinners and bounce for the seamers. However, crucially, Babar Azam’s team were bowled out 20 deliveries short of the 50-over mark in an innings spluttered with promising partnerships that didn’t eventuate into anything more substantial.

The crucial, 84-run partnership between Shadab Khan and Saud Shakeel was the highlight, but the loss of regular wickets meant that Pakistan’s bowling attack would have to produce a wonderful display. They fought hard in the field, taking regular wickets of their own courtesy of a mixture of good bowling, excellent catching and some brainless South African batting that further raises concerns of their ability to chase in big games.

However, the Proteas can revel in this victory and use it as a confidence booster going forward. Aiden Markram, who rode his luck at times, was strong for the most part, although he would have regretted his choice of shot with a century and victory in sight. Markram along with David Miller seemed to put South Africa in control, but Pakistan with their backs against the wall are never to be counted out. Shaheen Shah Afridi led the way with a magnificent spell, finishing with 3/45, with strong support from Usama Mir (2/45), Haris Rauf (2/62), and the returning Mohammad Wasim (2/50).

It was then Pakistan who thought they would seal victory after Rauf’s classic catch off his own bowling to dismiss Lungi Ngidi and reduce South Africa to 260/9. However, spin twins Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj held their nerve, with the latter latching onto a loose Mohammad Nawaz delivery down the leg side to seal the most thrilling of wins.

PAK vs SA Reactions: Pakistan now need a miracle to make semi-finals

Pakistan’s defeat was their fourth in a row. They now need New Zealand to beat Australia. Otherwise, they will sit four points outside of the top four with just three games to play.

Of course, Twitter exploded. Heartbreak was mixed with pure joy along with analysis of how to beat a strong South African team. Also, there were debates on the umpire’s call, with both teams experiencing each end of the spectrum.

NED vs BAN Dream11 Prediction Fantasy Cricket Tips Possible XI Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 28 | Kolkata Pitch Report

The Netherlands will take on Bangladesh in the second game on Saturday (October 28) in Kolkata. Both teams are coming on the back of defeats and will have to win the game if they are to give themselves even the slightest of chances to qualify for the semi-finals.

The Netherlands suffered a mammoth 309-run defeat against Australia in their previous game. Bowling first, they leaked 399 runs, with all their bowlers, barring Colin Ackermann, conceding more than six runs per over. While batting, the Men in Orange were bundled for 90, with no batter crossing the 30-run mark.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh lost their fourth consecutive game of the tournament, as South Africa gave them a 149-run hammering. Firstly, they conceded 382 runs, with most of their bowlers giving away plenty, especially in the death overs. In the batting department, it was a one-man show, as Mahmudullah notched up a magnificent ton, whereas no other batter crossed even the 25-run mark.

In this article, we will look at some fantasy cricket tips, the possible playing XIs, and the Kolkata pitch report as part of our Dream11 fantasy coverage in this World Cup.

NED vs BAN Dream11 Prediction: Fantasy Cricket Tips

Netherlands:

  • Colin Ackermann will have to step up to cover for a misfiring opening pair. He has 137 runs at an average of 27.40 in five innings this World Cup. Ackermann also has four wickets at 35.25 runs apiece.
  • Bas de Leede has had an outing to forget against Australia. He is a much better player. Bas has 382 runs, averaging 34.72 and striking at 93.17 in 12 ODI innings this year. He has also taken 24 wickets at 24.66 balls apiece.
  • Scott Edwards has the most runs for the Netherlands this year. He has scored 574 runs at an average of 44.15 and a strike rate of 106.49 in 17 ODI innings in 2023. Edwards also has five fifties to his name.

Bangladesh:

  • Litton Das has looked well in patches this World Cup. He has 177 runs at an average of 35.40 and a strike rate of 83.89 in five innings in the tournament. Litton also has two fifties.

  • Shakib Al Hasan can’t be left out. He has struggled with the bat, but worked on his batting after the defeat against South Africa and will look to score big. His bowling might be very effective against the out-of-form Netherlands batters.
  • Mushfiqur Rahim has 760 runs at an average of 44.70 and a strike rate of 88.37 in 20 ODI innings this year. Rahim also has six fifties and a century. He has also amassed two fifties this World Cup.

  • Shoriful Islam has 22 wickets at an average of 25.90 and a strike rate of 27 in 13 ODI innings in 2023. He has swung the ball consistently and will get extra help in Kolkata. Shoriful could snare a few crucial wickets.

  • Najmul Hossain Shanto requires 18 more to complete 1000 ODI runs.

Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch in Kolkata has always suited the batters, with the ball skidding on the bat. There will be some extra bounce and pace in the pitch for the pacers to exploit, especially under the lights. The team batting first must post more than 300 to be on the safer side.

The temperature will hover around 31°C, with minimal chances of rain.

The World Cup 2023 is heating up, and the games are coming thick and fast. And what a huge game this is. Australia will take on New Zealand in the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday (28 October), with ramifications on the top four.

After a slow start, Australia have finally hit their form right and coming on the back of three consecutive wins. They defeated the Netherlands by a handsome 309-run margin in their previous game. Glenn Maxwell is back into his groove, while all the bowlers were among the wickets, as Australia put on a perfect show in Delhi.

Meanwhile, New Zealand suffered their maiden defeat against India in their previous game. Rachin Ravindra (75) and Daryl Mitchell (130) impressed with the bat, but the other batters couldn’t stay longer at the crease, as the Kiwis managed only 273. The bowlers tried their best, with Lockie Ferguson picking up two wickets, but the target wasn’t as big to stop India.

ENG vs SL Twitter Reactions: England fans slam The Hundred after another horror show

ENG vs SL Reactions: England fans slam The Hundred after another horror show | England fans react to another disappointing performance at the 2023 World Cup

England have produced another awful display in the 2023 World Cup, with their latest defeat an eight-wicket drubbing with 146 balls remaining against Sri Lanka at Bengaluru. England, whose World Cup defence is all but over, limped to 156 courtesy of a combination of some putrid cricket and an excellent Sri Lankan display, before the Lions chased the target with ease.

Jos Buttler’s side started off well in good batting conditions at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, racing to 45 without loss in 6.2 overs. However, from there, it was a combination of panic and lunacy, highlighted most in the soft dismissals of Joe Root, Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid in particular. Ben Stokes then tried his best to produce a Stokes classic, but he was fighting a lost cause as the Sri Lankan attack had their measure.

Lahiru Kumara produced one of his best spells in ODI cricket with 3/35. But, it was Angelo Mathews’ 120km/h medium pacers that surprised the most, with the 36-year old taking a wicket with his third ball of the tournament before finishing with 2/14 off five overs. There was also wonderful fielding and catching from the Sri Lankans, who set things up perfectly for a fifth-straight win over England in ODI World Cups.

After an early wobble thanks to David Willey’s solid opening spell, Pathum Nissanka, who hit his fourth-straight fifty, combined with the equally-impressive Sadeera Samarawickrama to put on an unbroken stand of 137 to cruise to the target. The result moved Sri Lanka into fifth and just two points behind Australia; an excellent effort given all the injuries they have.

ENG vs SL Reactions: Attention quickly moves to The Hundred & England’s poor preparation

England have now lost four from five in this World Cup to sit second-last with a net run rate of -1.634. All four of their defeats have been thrashings, starting with New Zealand and then filtering through to Afghanistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

So, where is it all going wrong? Some point to the ageing nature of the squad, but many believe that the lack of priority placed on the 50-over format has hurt England. Not only do England not play as many ODIs anymore, but the onset of The Hundred is believed to make adjusting to the longer format all-the-more difficult.

“Preparation for the World Cup 0/10. Performance in the World Cup 0/10. Anyone see the correlation?”, one fan tweeted. “Ditch the Hundred. The pointless pointless uninteresting Hundred,” said another.

PAK vs SA Dream11 Prediction Fantasy Cricket Tips Possible XI Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 26

PAK vs SA Dream11 Prediction Fantasy Cricket Tips Possible XI Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 26 | Chennai pitch report

The last time South Africa beat Pakistan in an ODI World Cup match was way back in 1999. They arguably have no better chance than now to break that jinx, with the red-hot Proteas strong favourites against a Pakistan team on the brink.

Indeed, the Pakistanis have barely fired a shot, especially with the ball. South Africa, on the other hand, have been utterly dominant when batting first. Such a situation should mean that Pakistan’s best chance is batting first, but their defence – or lackthereof – of a 280+ score against Afghanistan is certainly worrying. Babar Azam in particular is under pressure, with his captaincy leaving plenty to be desired in terms of field placements, bowling changes and general proactivity.

With Australia and New Zealand to play tomorrow, Pakistan have the chance to either go level with Australia or sit just two points behind both. Also, this World Cup is in need of a Pakistan win, given that victory for the Proteas could mean a whole bunch of dead-rubbers at the backend of the group stage. To do that, Pakistan need to make inroads early with the ball, exposing the strong South African middle order as soon as possible. With the bat, intent is the order of the day, with Iftikhar Ahmed’s batting form a positive they can look to build on.

In this article, we will look at some fantasy cricket tips, the possible playing XIs, and Chennai pitch report as part of our Dream11 fantasy coverage in this World Cup.

PAK vs SA Dream11 Prediction: Fantasy Cricket Tips

Pakistan:

  • Fakhar Zaman has a good record against South Africa (10 inns, 544 runs, avg. 54.40, SR 101.11). He has performed well against Kagiso Rabada, striking 111 runs in 119 balls, and has been dismissed just once.
  • Is this the game that Babar Azam delivers victory? The skipper averages 65.37 in ten ODIs vs South Africa (523 runs). He has a good record against Rabada (109 balls, 85 runs, one dismissal), Lungi Ngidi (33 balls, 37 runs, no dismissals), and Tabraiz Shamsi (33 balls, 38 runs, no dismissals).
  • Mohammad Rizwan is Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in this World Cup (302) at an average of 75.50 and strike rate of 95.87. However, he will be looking to improve a disappointing record vs. South Africa: 5 inns, 56 runs, avg. 14.00, SR 60.86.
  • Iftikhar Ahmed has conceded just 5.10 per over with the ball in this World Cup. He could find some turn on the Chennai track. Also, Iftikhar is striking at 140.27 with the bat in the tournament.
  • A lot rests on Shaheen Shah Afridi. The left-armer has taken 13 wickets in eight ODIs against South Africa at an average of 29.76 and strike rate of 31.15.
  • Shaheen has dismissed Quinton de Kock twice in 75 balls in ODIs (69 runs). He has also dismissed Aiden Markram twice in 25 balls (20 runs).

South Africa:

  • Quinton de Kock is in rare form. The opener has belted three centuries in this World Cup, scoring 174 in his last outing against Bangladesh.
  • de Kock has a middling record against Pakistan, with 566 runs at an average of 37.73 and strike rate of 86.41.
  • In total, Pakistan’s spinners have taken 6/602 in 96.3 overs in this World Cup. Heinrich Klaasen has smashed 283 runs against spin in ODIs this year at an average of 56.6 and strike rate of 159.9.
  • Klaasen has hit the second-most runs for South Africa in this tournament: 5 inns, 288 runs, avg. 57.60, SR 150.78.
  • Aiden Markram is next with 265 runs at an average of 53.00 and strike rate of 123.83. He has made three 50+ scores in five matches. Markram could also bowl if needed, so the all-rounder is an excellent option for Dream11 fantasy cricket teams.
  • Marco Jansen is having a brilliant World Cup. He has taken ten wickets in five matches (avg. 24.70) and has smashed 123 runs at a strike rate of 126.80.
  • Kagiso Rabada also has ten wickets in this tournament. However, he has a poor ODI record against Pakistan, with seven wickets in nine matches at an average of 58.57. Can he turn these numbers around?

Other Stats and Facts

  • Pakistan have won five of nine ODIs against South Africa since the start of 2019.
  • Pakistan have lost their past three matches in this World Cup.
  • Last game, Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed trying to sweep a googly by left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad. Expect Tabraiz Shamsi to try a similar tactic.
  • David Miller’s career record vs Pakistan: 22 inns, 507 runs, avg. 29.82, SR 83.66.
  • Haris Rauf has taken seven wickets in three ODIs vs South Africa. He has dismissed de Kock, Miller and Bavuma once each.

MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai Pitch Report and Weather

According to ESPNcricinfo, the same pitch as the Bangladesh-New Zealand match will be used for this clash. That surface had more pace in it, with Lockie Ferguson enjoying the bounce on offer.

The chasing team has won three of four matches on this ground in this World Cup. There is a chance of showers, but there should be a full match.

ENG vs SL Dream11 Prediction Fantasy Cricket Tips Possible XI Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 25

ENG vs SL Dream11 Prediction Fantasy Cricket Tips Possible XI Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 25 | Bengaluru Pitch Report

Who would have thought England would find themselves in the ninth position in the points table midway through the tournament? The defending champions are going through a horrid run in the World Cup 2023, winning only one of the four games so far. But, is a depleted Sri Lanka attack at the batting-friendly Bengaluru the catalyst that finally gets their campaign going?

Jos Buttler’s team suffered a defeat against South Africa in the previous game by a massive 229 runs. Their bowling has been a significant issue, and they conceded 399 in this game, with none of their bowler having an economy rate of less than six. Now, Reece Topley is unavailable. They were bundled for 170, as their batters put on a flop show on a batting-friendly track, with only Mark Wood and Gus Atkinson installing some pride into a horror innings.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka finally managed to kick off their campaign by defeating the Netherlands in Lucknow. Dilshan Madushanka and Kasun Rajitha starred with four wickets each in the bowling department. In the batting turn, Pathum Nissanka (52) and Sadeera Samarawickrama amassed the fifties, whereas Charith Asalanka (44) and Dhananjaya de Silva (30) made vital contributions to help Sri Lanka win their maiden game of the tournament.

ODI World Cup 2023 Match 25 – ENG vs SL Possible Playing XIs

Reece Topley is out of the tournament after sustaining an injury in the previous game. Sam Curran is likely to come in. Joe Root’s form has been a concern, but England would likely give him another go after he struck a couple of fifties earlier in the World Cup.

England: 1. Jonny Bairstow, 2. Dawid Malan, 3. Joe Root, 4. Ben Stokes, 5. Harry Brook, 6. Jos Buttler (c & wk), 7. Sam Curran, 8. David Willey, 8. Adil Rashid, 10. Gus Atkinson, 11. Mark Wood.

Sri Lanka will likely retain the same XI.

Sri Lanka: 1. Pathum Nissanka, 2. Kusal Perera, 3. Kusal Mendis (c & wk), 4. Sadeera Samarawickrama, 5. Charith Asalanka, 6. Dhananjaya de Silva, 7. Dushan Hemantha, 8. Chamika Karunaratne, 9. Maheesh Theekshana, 10. Kasun Rajitha, 11. Dilshan Madushanka.

ENG vs SL Dream11 Prediction – Fantasy Cricket Tips

England:

  • Jonny Bairstow requires runs. He has 97 runs in four innings this World Cup. However, Bairstow is a quality player and can get going on a nice Bengaluru track. He is a differentiator captaincy option in fantasy cricket teams.
  • Dawid Malan has been England’s best ODI batter this year. He has 192 runs at an average of 48 and a strike rate of 106.08 in four World Cup innings. This includes a century.
  • Joe Root hasn’t done much in ODIs this year, but he might finally break the shackles. Root has 1175 runs at a tremendous average of 65.27 and a strike rate of 85.20 in 25 ODI innings against Sri Lanka. This includes nine fifties and two centuries against them.
  • Jos Buttler has 574 runs at an average of 41 and a strike rate of 120.33 in 19 ODI innings against Sri Lanka, including three fifties and a century.

  • Jos Buttler needs 90 more to complete 5,000 ODI runs.

AUS vs NED Dream11 Prediction Fantasy Cricket Tips Possible XI Pitch Report: ODI World Cup 2023 Match 24 | Delhi Pitch Report

Australia will take on the Netherlands in the 24th match of the World Cup 2023 in Delhi. After a slow start, the Aussies have found some rhythm, and come into this match off the back of two successive wins. On the other hand, the Netherlands suffered their third defeat of the tournament against Sri Lanka in their previous game, but they have lots to be encouraged about.

Australia defeated Pakistan in their last game in Bengaluru. Batting first, they notched up 367/9 – thanks to the marvellous tons from David Warner (163) and Mitchell Marsh (121). In the bowling department, Adam Zampa starred with four wickets, whereas Pat Cummins and Marcus Stoinis also scalped two batters each to provide a 62-run win to Australia. However, the key for Australia will be a better catching efficiency as well as better returns from the middle order and Mitchell Starc.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands would be proud of their batting efforts in the previous game. They were reeling on 91/6 at a stage, but Sybrand Engelbrecht (70) and Logan van Beek (59) rescued them and put to a fighting total of 262. Aryan Dutt picked up three wickets, but the other bowlers couldn’t apply pressure, and the Netherlands faced another defeat.

  • Mitchell Marsh showed his true potential in the previous game. Marsh is a hard-hitting batter and can cause serious damage to the Netherlands bowling unit. He has 180 runs in four World Cup innings so far.
  • Glenn Maxwell enjoys playing in the World Cups. He would want to improve his batting numbers, though. Maxwell has 62 runs at an average of 12.40 in 2023. However, his improved bowling expertise will be handy for Australia.
  • While he hasn’t been at his best, Mitchell Starc is known to thrive in the World Cups, and the Netherlands batters will have to be cautious against him. Starc has 15 wickets at an average of 27.60 in eight ODI innings this year. He also has a five-wicket haul.
  • Adam Zampa can wreak havoc on a slowish track in Delhi. His form wasn’t as good, but Zampa made a solid comeback against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, taking four wickets in both games. Zampa has 24 wickets at 29.50 runs apiece in 13 ODI innings in 2023.

Netherlands:

  • Colin Ackermann will contribute with both bat and ball. He is the leading run-scorer, with 127 runs at an average of 31.75 for the Netherlands this World Cup. Ackermann also has four wickets.
  • Bas de Leede will have to step up against a formidable Aussie unit. Bas’ abilities with both bat and ball are well known, and he will look to churn out a fine performance. He has 378 runs at a 37.80 average this year. Bas also has 22 wickets at 23.77 runs apiece.
  • Scott Edwards can again add vital runs in the lower order. He has 1181 runs at an average of 45.42 and a strike rate of 96.80 in 31 ODI innings since 2022. This includes has 13 fifties.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head in ODIs: Played 2, Australia 2, Netherlands 0.
  • Glenn Maxwell in the ODI World Cup: 550 runs, 34.37 avg, 152.77 SR, two fifties and one century.
