Cricket News: IPL ratings down 35% in 2022 compared to 2021 – Report | Ratings for the IPL have dropped in 2022 according to figures
The Indian Premier League (IPL) ratings have dropped by up to 35% from 2021 according to the latest figures. According to Financial Express, the TV viewership across age groups fell by over 30% in the first three weeks of the season, and has continued to slide a little further as the season nears its playoffs phase.
IPL 2022 is the first instance of a 10-team IPL since the 2011 season. As a result, the season is now 75 matches long instead of the usual 60, and also drags out to two months. Also, the poor performances of linchpins Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are said to be contributing to the waning numbers, as have the performances of the out of form Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and co.
Also, IPL 2022 closes out what seems like a year of IPL action after the 2021 season was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and then restarted in the UAE in September/October. The T20 World Cup followed days later, and before you know it, IPL 2022 was underway, giving fans a significant amount of T20 cricket to consume.
CSK and MI have struggled in 2022 compared to other seasons.
IPL ratings down: IPL becoming a ‘fatigued product’
Sandeep Goyal, Managing Director of Rediffusion Brand Solutions, said that there is the possibility of viewer fatigue given the amount of T20 cricket fans are exposed to.
“With a higher count of teams, the match count from 60 in IPL 2021 has now jumped to 75. Viewers are now jaded due to more matches, with their favourite teams not performing well,” said Gopal, referring to CSK and MI as the two major teams who have struggled this season.
Also, it needs to be considered that viewership numbers over the past two years were influenced by pandemic-induced lockdowns. In 2020, the IPL was originally postponed from its usual March-May slot until September, which saw a 28% increase in viewership after fans were starved of cricket for months. This time in 2021, India was in hard lockdown, with people confined to their homes. The IPL gave them something to watch.
“The year 2021 was an outlier in terms of consumer behaviour. The lockdowns dramatically increased viewership patterns across media, and a return to some kind of normalcy was always likely,” said Kavita Shenoy, founder and CEO of Voiro.
IPL which is the most popular sporting league in the world has seen a 33 percent decline in TV ratings from IPL 2021.
Let’s look at some of the reasons for this decline in viewership:
#BoredWithCricket trends on Twitter as the IPL 2022 playoffs near
Republic World created a stir after India’s badminton team won the Thomas Cup. They went on to compare the achievement with India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup triumph, with the hashtag #BoredWithCricket then trending online.
#BoredWithCricket | The victory today is bigger than the 1983 cricket victory. The media should propagate other sports: Hemant Kenkre – Cricket Columnist & Former Cricketer
Some fans bemoaned the culture of promoting one sport while degrading another, while others believed more should be done to make as many cricket matches as relevant as possible.
Part of that is the IPL, whose brand is at risk if the BCCI continues to stretch out the season. Too much of something is never a good idea, and the IPL takes up more than enough of the cricketing calendar as is. Also, the notion of less is more can create that extra demand for matches going forward.
IPL will lose its brand value if they stretch this league further. The ratings have already gone down this season…
Cricket News: Reactions: Andrew Symonds tragically dies after car accident | Champion all-rounder Andrew Symonds passes away – the reactions
Australia and the cricketing world is in mourning once again after the shock passing of champion all-rounder Andrew Symonds. Symonds passed away after a car accident outside Townsville in Queensland on Saturday night, barely two months after the cricketing fraternity was left shocked and saddened following the passing of Rod Marsh and Shane Warne.
The 46-year old was a much-loved character. People close to him described him as a larrikin and a cult figure, and his loss will be felt for years to come.
Symonds, affectionately known as ‘Roy’, helped revolutionise the role of a middle order all-rounder in white-ball cricket. He played 198 ODIs for Australia, striking 5,088 runs at an average of nearly 40 and strike rate of 92.55, along with 133 wickets. This includes 515 runs in 13 World Cup innings at a superb average of 103.00. He was also magnificent in the field, with a number of superb run outs and catches throughout his career.
Symonds was also more than handy in the longest format. He played 26 Tests, scoring 1462 runs at 40.61 and picking up 24 wickets with his off-spin and medium-pace bowling.
Fans, players & politicians pay tribute to Andrew Symonds
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Australia Prime Minister were among the millions who paid tribute to the all-rounder. Palaszczuk shared her “deep condolences” to Symonds’ family and described him as “an outstanding player – dynamic, entertaining and skilful – who made an unforgettable contribution to Queensland and Australian cricket”.
Prime Minister Morrison said, “Just awful to hear the news of the passing of Andrew Symonds. Roy was an incredible talent and a great character of Australian sport. Loved by his teammates and fans alike, he will be sorely missed by many. My condolences to his family, friends and the cricket community.”

Just awful to hear the news of the passing of Andrew Symonds. Roy was an incredible talent and a great character of Australian sport. Loved by his teammates and fans alike, he will be sorely missed by many. My condolences to his family, friends and the cricket community.
Ricky Ponting, who famously backed Andrew Symonds against the selectors’ wishes just before the 2003 World Cup, also paid tribute.
If Roy shook your hand you had his word, that’s the sort of bloke he was and that's why I always wanted him on my team. An extraordinary player and even better human being. Can’t believe he’s gone. Thoughts are with his family at this time. pic.twitter.com/7r7FiK1CzK

Symonds was a man for the fast lane… can’t forget his 143 against us at Joburg in the 2003 World Cup… on his day he could blast the best deliveries… off the field he was courteous and loyal… shocked at his untimely death … May he rest in peace #RIPRoy
Devastating, just devastating Will always remember his no nonsense straightforward positivity and what he did for me as Captain @Gloscricket What a player, what a person Thoughts are with Laura, Chloe & Billy #RIPRoy#Australiahttps://t.co/G6ylycMrUE
As the tributes continue to pour in, it’s clear that even if Andrew Symonds wasn’t the greatest cricketer of his generation, he certainly was the cricketer every Australian kid back then dreamt of growing up to be. That will perhaps be his greatest legacy #RIPRoy
PBKS vs DC Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Match 64 | PBKS vs DC Dream11 Prediction Today | Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals | DY Patil Pitch Report
A virtual playoff before the playoffs. Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings meet in this highly-anticipated clash, where the winner will leapfrog RCB into the top four on net run rate. The losing side may start thinking about packing their bags for the trip back home.
The stakes are high and pressure is immense for these two teams, and the winner will no doubt benefit from triumphing in such a situation. Both Mayank Agarwal’s and Rishabh Pant’s men come into this game off respective victories, which should see confidence at a high in both camps. However, and crucially, neither team has won consecutive matches in IPL 2022, so who will it be that casts this record aside?
If PBKS’ dynamic English duo of Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone fire again, they will be mighty tough to beat. But, DC’s Aussie duo David Warner and the firing Mitch Marsh might have something to say about that. In terms of the bowling, both sides have had their struggles at times, but now seem to be settling into some rhythm. One bad over can swing the game in either team’s favour, so the team that holds their nerve in the crunch stages is likely to reign supreme.
With their experience in recent years, DC look well-placed to mount a strong challenge. However, PBKS’ fearless attitude can hold them in good stead. And, they will need to put any past demons behind them, especially the fact they were rolled for 115 and lost with 57 deliveries to spare against Delhi earlier this season. It is indeed the perfect time to gain some revenge.
Jonny Bairstow is firing. He has struck two half-centuries in a row, including a player of the match 66 off 29 balls vs RCB. Overall, he has scored 189 runs in five innings vs DC at an average of 37.80 and healthy strike rate of 142.11.
Liam Livingstone is among the top 10 run-scorers in IPL 2022 (385) and has the best strike rate (180.75) among those players. He has smashed 109 runs in three matches at the DY Patil for one dismissal and a strike rate of 205.66.
Shikhar Dhawan is PBKS’ leading run-scorer this season (402). However, he will want to improve on his middling record at the DY Patil: 8 inns, 162 runs, avg. 23.14, SR 108.00.
Kagiso Rabada continues to amaze. He is on track to becoming the fastest to 100 IPL wickets, as he has 97 scalps in just 61 matches (current fastest is Malinga in 70 matches). He is the top wicket-taker among pacers this season (21), with nine coming in the powerplay and eight at the death.
Rabada vs Warner will be a huge battle. The pacer has dismissed the opener five times in 83 balls in all T20s, but Warner has scored 124 runs.
Arshdeep Singh has taken four wickets in his past three games. More impressive is the fact that he has conceded just five sixes in 42 overs in IPL 2022. This is the lowest among bowlers who have sent down at least 35 overs.
Delhi Capitals:
PBKS desperately need David Warner’s wicket early. The Aussie opener has a magnificent record against Punjab, with 12 50+ scores in 22 innings, including a thumping 30-ball 60* earlier this season.
Overall, Warner has struck 1,005 runs at an average of 52.89 and strike rate of 142.35 vs Punjab.
Mitch Marsh has got going. He won player of the match vs RR with 89 off 62 balls and 2 for 25. Since the beginning of 2021, Marsh has struck 1,369 runs in 43 innings at an average of 40.27 and strike rate of 138.28.
Rishabh Pant has struck nine double-figure scores in 11 innings this season, including seven above 25 (total of 294 runs at an average of 32.66 and strike rate of 156.38). Can he cross 50 today if he gets the chance?
Pant needs to improve on his numbers vs PBKS: 11 inns, 173 runs, avg. 17.30, SR 117.69.
DC may be tempted to give Kuldeep Yadav an over in the powerplay. Their leading wicket-taker (18) has dismissed Dhawan twice in 37 balls in the IPL, whilst only conceding 34.
Axar Patel took 2/10 in four overs against PBKS earlier this season. He didn’t concede a single boundary in that innings.
Anrich Nortje has taken five wickets in his past two matches. However, he has been on more of the expensive side (3/42 and 2/39), so DC will be hoping he can bring that economy rate down.
Other Stats and Facts
Head-to-head: Matches 29, DC 14, PBKS 15.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa has a strike rate of 162.90 and has struck five 25+ scores in eight matches in IPL 2022.
Jonny Bairstow as an opener in the IPL: 29 games, 1094 runs, avg. 42.07, SR 145.47.
David Warner has a brilliant record against Rahul Chahar. The opener has struck 61 off 34 against the leg-spinner without dismissal.
Rovman Powell has smashed 174 runs off his last 96 deliveries (SR 181.25).
DY Patil Pitch Report and Weather
The chasing team has won 10 of the 18 matches on this ground in IPL 2022, with an average first innings score of 169.17. Also, the chasing team has won three of the past five matches, with an average first innings score of 166.8, bumped up by CSK’s 208. So, a total around the 170 mark might be a tricky chase, even with dew around.

LSG vs RR Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Match 63 | LKN vs RR Dream11 Prediction Today | Lucknow Super Giants vs Rajasthan Royals Key Players | Brabourne Pitch Report
If you needed a picture on just how important this game is, check this out. Lucknow Super Giants, who are currently on 16 points, can sew up a top-two spot with a win here. However, a defeat will sink them into the mid-table logjam, and they will only sit two points clear of RCB and DC/PBKS by tomorrow.
The situation is even more critical for Rajasthan Royals. A win by a big enough margin today will see them overtake LSG into the top two with a game remaining. However, a defeat here and it will be time to worry, as they will be stuck on 14 with RCB (14), DC (12), KKR (12) and PBKS (12) all vying for a top four place. Win and it’s top two, lose and it’s risk missing the playoffs altogether. It’s that tight (Read the IPL 2022 scenarios here).
So, RR must turn around their recent form. Sanju Samson’s team has lost three of their past four matches, with a lack of clarity at times regarding their batting lineup. They need Buttler to deliver at the top as his form has cooled off, especially in the absence of Shimron Hetmyer. And, the experienced spin duo and the under-par Trent Boult need to lead the way with the ball.
Thus, an opportunity presents itself for LSG to prey on a team that is under a bit of pressure. They too will be looking for a response after getting rolled for 82 in their last match, but four wins in a row before that shows they mean business. If they can sort out that extra batsman in their XI, and make inroads into RR’s top order, a top two spot will await them.
Lucknow Super Giants could bring Ravi Bishnoi back into their XI. They also have the option of Evin Lewis to shore up their batting.
Lucknow Super Giants: 1. Quinton de Kock (wk), 2. KL Rahul (c), 3. Deepak Hooda, 4. Karan Sharma/Evin Lewis, 5. Krunal Pandya, 6. Marcus Stoinis, 7. Ayush Badoni, 8. Jason Holder, 9. Mohsin Khan, 10. Dushmantha Chameera/K Gowtham, 11. Avesh Khan
Shimron Hetmyer is not available yet after the birth of his first child.
Rajasthan Royals: 1. Yashasvi Jaiswal, 2. Jos Buttler, 3. Devdutt Padikkal, 4. Sanju Samson (c & wk), 5. Rassie van der Dussen, 6. Riyan Parag, 7. R Ashwin, 8. Trent Boult, 9. Prasidh Krishna, 10. Yuzvendra Chahal, 11. Kuldeep Sen
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Lucknow Super Giants:
KL Rahul sits behind Jos Buttler with 459 runs in 12 innings this season. This includes a 60-ball 103* at Brabourne. Key player.
Rahul has some strong numbers against RR’s key bowlers. He has struck 106 off 67 vs Chahal (one dismissal) and 110 off 63 vs Boult (two dismissals).
Quinton de Kock has struck five double-figure scores in a row, but has gone past 25 just twice. Today, he will have to overcome some poor records against RR’s spinners: four dismissals in 75 balls vs Ashwin (84 runs) and six dismissals in 39 balls vs Chahal (44 runs).
Deepak Hooda is LSG’s third-highest run-scorer behind Rahul and de Kock (347). In particular, he has been quite solid at number three, with scores of 34, 52, 41 and 27.
Avesh Khan is the only bowler to take 5+ wickets in all stages of an innings (powerplay, middle, death). He dismissed Jos Buttler for 13 the last time these two teams met.
Jason Holder to be used against Sanju Samson? The West Indian has a terrific record against the RR captain. He has dismissed Samson thrice in 35 balls and has only conceded 33.
Mohsin Khan has been one of the shining lights among India’s talented uncapped players. The impressive left-arm seamer has taken 10 wickets in six innings this season, with the best economy (5.19) and best bowling average (10.90) of any player.
Rajasthan Royals:
Like KL Rahul, Jos Buttler also struck a century in his last match on this ground (103 off 61 balls vs KKR). His battle with LSG’s powerplay bowlers will be huge, with eyes on he vs Mohsin. However, Buttler has good numbers against left-arm seam in the IPL: 34 inns, 334 runs, avg. 37.1, SR 141.5.
RR can get the best out of Sanju Samson if he bats at three. He has scored 245 runs at an average of 40.83 in this position, compared to just 82 runs in five innings (avg. 16.40) in other spots.
Yashasvi Jaiswal will be tasked with providing a fast start. He struck 68 off 41 balls two games ago and has scored 33 runs at a strike rate of 165 vs spin without dismissal this season.
R Ashwin continues to produce the goods with bat and ball. Expect him to play the role of floater once again, and RR could use him in the powerplay with the ball given his good record vs de Kock and how he keeps KL Rahul quiet (has conceded just 16 off 20 balls).
Yuzvendra Chahal was player of the match against LSG earlier this season (4/41). The equal leading wicket-taker (23) dismissed de Kock, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya and Dushmantha Chameera.
Also, Chahal took 5/40 on this ground earlier this season in a memorable spell against KKR.
Trent Boult to go around the wicket to KL Rahul? He bowled the LSG captain first ball with a dream delivery earlier this season. If RR are to fire, Boult has to play a key role.
Other Stats and Facts
RR (165/6) beat LSG (162/8) earlier this season.
Marcus Stoinis will be key as a finisher given RR have the worst economy rate at the death (11.86) this season. He struck 38* off 17 balls against RR earlier this season.
LSG’s pace attack is leaving RR’s for dead. Their pace unit has taken 51 wickets, with the best average (23.10), second-best average (17.1) and best economy rate (8.11). RR on the other hand have taken just 37 wickets (the least of all teams).
Sanju Samson has smashed 14 sixes in just 84 deliveries vs spin this season. That’s a six every six deliveries.
Trent Boult is conceding 14.28 per over between overs 16-20 in IPL 2022. This is the third-worst of any bowler.
Brabourne Pitch Report and Weather
The team batting first has won the past three matches on this ground. In these three matches, 200 has been breached twice. On the other occasion, MI’s 177 was enough to beat Gujarat by five runs.
So, the captain who wins the toss could be tempted to bat first and try post a big score in good batting conditions. Both teams have strong records when defending a total, so this could be an option.

CSK vs GT Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Match 62 | CSK vs GT Dream11 Prediction Today | Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans Key Players | Wankhede Pitch Report
One of the most established and successful teams in IPL history have been shown up by the newbies. Chennai Super Kings only have pride to play for now after an abject batting display against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians. Their 97-all out was a huge anti-climax after the momentum they had built in previous matches – reflective of their IPL 2022 campaign.
The opposite can be said of Gujarat Titans. They became the first team to qualify for the playoffs after an outstanding bowling display to dismantle fellow newbies Lucknow, and they will now be aiming for more of the same with the ball to lock up a top-two spot. Rashid Khan continues to weave his magic with 450 T20 wickets now to his name, while on the batting front, Shubman Gill has important time at the crease under his belt.
A game against a team with nothing to lose is a good test for Gujarat. They will look to further tune their performance in time for the playoffs, and this is good preparation. For Chennai, it is a chance for a number of players to put their hands up and show some pride. After all, there is always the question of retentions for next season and beyond.
The previous meeting between the teams was a classic Gujarat heist. David Miller smashed a memorable 94* off 51 balls and Rashid Khan belted 40 off 21 balls. What does this game have in store?
Chennai Super Kings: 1. Ruturaj Gaikwad, 2. Devon Conway, 3. Moeen Ali, 4. Robin Uthappa, 5. Ambati Rayudu, 6. MS Dhoni (c & wk), 7. Shivam Dube, 8. Dwayne Bravo, 9. Simarjeet Singh, 10. Maheesh Theekshana, 11. Mukesh Choudhary
Gujarat Titans: 1. Shubman Gill, 2. Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 3. Matthew Wade, 4. Hardik Pandya (c), 5. David Miller, 6. Rahul Tewatia, 7. Rashid Khan, 8. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore, 9. Alzarri Joseph, 10. Yash Dayal, 11. Mohammed Shami
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Chennai Super Kings:
Devon Conway fell for a golden duck last game after three consecutive fifties. If he gets through the powerplay today, watch out as he has a strike rate of 196.55 vs spin this season (114 runs off 58 balls, one dismissal).
Ruturaj Gaikwad has struggled for the most part this season. However, one of his good days was against Gujarat, where he scored 73 off 48 balls.
Gaikwad has good numbers against Rashid Khan, with 43 runs off 25 balls (one dismissal).
Moeen Ali is also a recognised spin-hitter in the middle overs. He has a strike rate of 148.87 in eight matches at the Wankhede, with a total of 198 runs at an average of 28.29. There are also a few left-handers Moeen can target with his off-spin.
Dwayne Bravo has taken the most wickets at the death this season (11). He was superb against GT earlier in IPL 2022, where he took 3/23. Also, he has taken 28 wickets in 21 T20s on this ground at a strike rate of 15.86.
Maheesh Theekshana has taken six wickets in the powerplay this season at an average of 19.83. He took 2/24 against GT earlier in IPL 2022, and will be key against their left-handers in particular.
Mukesh Choudhary has taken the most powerplay wickets this season (11).
Gujarat Titans:
Shubman Gill has struck two consecutive half-centuries and 177 runs in his past five knocks. He does have two half-centuries in nine knocks vs CSK, but only averages 22.25 against them. Also, he has scored just 49 runs in six innings at the Wankhede. It’s a big game for him.
David Miller played one of his best ever IPL knocks against CSK earlier this season (94*). Overall, he has smashed 349 runs in 12 innings vs CSK at an average of 38.78 and strike rate of 147.88.
Hardik Pandya missed the match vs CSK earlier this season. He strikes at 157.69 against them in his IPL career. He will be aiming to return to form at a ground he has plenty of experience at: 39 inns, 820 runs, avg. 32.80, SR 134.65.
Rashid Khan was at his brilliant best in the last game (4/24). He takes less than one wicket per match on average vs CSK (SR 26.40), but he has good numbers against Moeen (3/43 in 32 balls).
Yash Dayal has taken nine wickets in his past five matches. His battle with Gaikwad will be key, given the CSK opener’s struggles against left-arm seam in the IPL (10 dismissals, avg. 16.7).
Mohammed Shami loves bowling at the Wankhede. He takes two wickets per match on average (16 in eight games, SR 12), and will be looking to improve on his record vs CSK: 10 inns, 7 wickets, avg. 41.71, SR 31.43.
Other Stats and Facts
Gujarat (170/7) pulled off a stunning run-chase against CSK earlier in IPL 2022.
Wriddhiman Saha has been dismissed just twice in the powerplay this season. He has scored 154 runs at an average of 77.00 and strike rate of 133.91 in this period.
Ambati Rayudu was CSK’s second-highest scorer against the Titans earlier this season (46 off 31 balls).
David Miller vs Dwayne Bravo in franchise T20 cricket: 54 balls faced, 82 runs scored, two dismissals.
MS Dhoni has scored 34 runs off 18 balls against Mohammed Shami without dismissal.
Wankhede Pitch Report and Weather
Dew won’t be an issue in this day game, but the players will have to contend with a very hot Mumbai afternoon. Rajasthan chased down Punjab’s 189 in the day game on this ground last week, and there have been three scores above 180 in the past five matches.

KKR vs SRH Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Match 61 | KOL vs SRH Dream11 Prediction Today | Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Key Players | Pune Pitch Report
Win and move to two points within Royal Challengers Bangalore. Lose and it’s just about season over.
That is the equation facing Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders today. Both teams have endured indifferent campaigns, with periods of good form outdone by prolonged runs of poor results. SRH have lost their past four after winning five in a row, while KKR got a much-needed victory over Mumbai Indians after losing six of their previous seven. It’s must-win territory.
SRH will be hoping both Washington Sundar and T Natarajan are fit. According to reports, they are set to play, and the men in orange need them badly as they have missed their respective influences. Also, more is needed from Kane Williamson, whose low strike rate has been the subject of attention at this year’s IPL.
For KKR, it’s about building on the big 52-run win over MI earlier this week. However, as Jasprit Bumrah’s 5/10 showed, their batting consistency is clearly an issue, but one positive they can draw from is that the Venkatesh Iyer-Ajinkya Rahane opening combination might be their best bet.
Pat Cummins is out for the rest of IPL 2022 with a hip injury. KKR could replace him with Aaron Finch, but they might not want to disrupt the opening combination. So, Sam Billings is an option.
Also, Umesh Yadav is a chance of returning, but there is no official word yet.
T Natarajan and Washington Sundar could return for SRH.
Sunrisers Hyderabad: 1. Kane Williamson (c), 2. Abhishek Sharma, 3. Rahul Tripathi, 4. Aiden Markram, 5. Nicholas Pooran (wk), 6. Shashank Singh, 7. Washington Sundar/J Suchith, 8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 9. Marco Jansen/Fazalhaq Farooqi/Romario Shepherd, 10. Umran Malik, 11. T Natarajan/Kartik Tyagi
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Kolkata Knight Riders:
The ever-present Andre Russell is almost a certainty for all fantasy teams. With Pat Cummins out and Umesh Yadav still in doubt, Russell is likely to do more bowling. He is KKR’s second-highest wicket-taker this season (14) with a strike rate of 9.0. Also, he has smashed 281 runs at a strike rate of 183.66, including a 25-ball 49* vs SRH.
Venkatesh Iyer stormed back into form last game with a 24-ball 43. If he puts SRH under pressure early, it will trigger recent memories of Kane Williamson’s team conceding three 190+ scores in their past four matches.
SRH is Shreyas Iyer’s second-most prolific opponent (406 runs). He averages 33.83 against them with a strike rate of 113.73, including a 25-ball 28 earlier this season. He has struck seven 20+ scores in 12 matches this season.
Nitish Rana struck 54 off 36 balls against SRH earlier in IPL 2022. He has a good overall record for KKR against SRH (10 inns, 340 runs, avg. 34.00, SR 134.39).
However, Rana doesn’t have the most favourable of matchups against SRH’s key bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has dismissed him twice in 33 balls (39 runs), T Natarajan twice in 26 balls (40 runs) and Washington Sundar twice in 18 balls (22 runs).
Tim Southee has taken eight wickets in his last six matches against SRH at an average of 23.75. Also, he has been terrific this season, with 12 wickets in seven games at an average of 16.25 and an economy of 7.22. He will be key in exploiting SRH’s powerplay struggles.
Sunrisers Hyderabad:
Rahul Tripathi was player of the match against KKR earlier this season. He belted 71 off 37 balls. He has a very favourable matchup against Sunil Narine, with 67 runs off 36 balls for no dismissal in the IPL.
Aiden Markram also starred against KKR this season. He belted a 36-ball 68*, part of 326 runs in nine innings at an average of 65.20 and a strike rate of 142.98 in IPL 2022. Also, he scored 57* off 41 at Pune earlier this season.
KKR are conceding 11.32 runs per over at the death in IPL 2022. So, Nicholas Pooran can pounce. The keeper-batsman has five not outs to his name in 10 innings, with a total of 261 runs at an average of 52.20 and strike rate of 147.45.
SRH will be hoping T Natarajan is fit and firing. He took 3/37 vs KKR earlier this season, part of 17 wickets in just nine matches in IPL 2022. Six have come in the powerplay and eight at the death (second-most).
Natarajan has dismissed Russell once in nine balls in the IPL, whilst only conceding 13.
Umran Malik is wicketless in his past three matches, but we saw how KKR struggled against the pace of Jasprit Bumrah a few nights ago. Malik took 2/27 against KKR earlier this season, which included the wicket of Shreyas Iyer.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has enjoyed success against Ajinkya Rahane. He has dismissed him six times in 96 balls, whilst only conceding 89. He also has an excellent record against Shreyas Iyer: 44 runs, 49 balls, three dismissals.
Other Stats and Facts
Head-to-head: Matches 22, KKR 14, SRH 8.
SRH (176/3) beat KKR (175/8) with 15 balls to spare earlier in IPL 2022.
Rinku Singh has struck scores of 23*, 6, 42*, 23 and 35. Also, he has taken nine catches and inflicted one run-out.
Andre Russell has smashed 51 runs off 21 balls against Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the IPL (one dismissal).
Russell has dismissed Nicholas Pooran five times in 75 balls in T20s (113 runs).
Kane Williamson has a strike rate of 96.13 in IPL 2022. This is the lowest for any batsman with at least 100 runs.
If Washington Sundar is unavailable, J Suchith remains a handy replacement. He is yet to go wicketless this season, with six wickets in four matches at a strike rate of 14.
Sunil Narine has taken just 10 wickets in 19 matches vs SRH (avg. 47.50).
Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium Pune Pitch Report and Weather
Nine of the 12 matches on this ground have been won by the team batting first, including the past six. The average first innings score in the past six matches is 165.33, with the teams batting second faltering badly in the past two games (101 by KKR vs LSG and 82 by LSG vs GT).
The surface has showed signs of being two-paced. So, the captain who wins the toss might be tempted to bat first and try get 160+ on the board despite the likely presence of dew.

RCB vs PBKS Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Match 60 | BLR vs PBKS Dream11 Prediction Today | Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Punjab Kings Key Players | Brabourne Pitch Report
Match 60 is absolutely crucial. A win for either team will significantly boost their playoff hopes, while the other will have to sit, wait and hope other results go their way (IPL 2022 scenarios here).
Punjab Kings are yet to win consecutive matches, following a win-loss pattern right throughout IPL 2022. The good news, perhaps, is that they lost their previous match, so they are due a win if history is to repeat itself. However, the pressure is well and truly on Mayank Agarwal’s men, who must win this match to stand a realistic chance of qualifying for the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade.
It is the kind of pressure that Royal Challengers Bangalore have faltered under in the past. However, they have the experience of playoffs’ qualification in 2020 and 2021, so they will be hoping that holds them in good stead. Unlike PBKS, RCB are coming off a crucial victory that snapped a three-match losing streak, swatting aside SRH over the weekend to keep their destiny in their own hands.
These two teams met way back in the third game of the season. Faf du Plessis struck 88, but it was Odean Smith who stole the show. With players in either side in a great form – notably Liam Livingstone and Wanindu Hasaranga – this has the makings of another cracking contest.
Faf du Plessis loves playing the Punjab Kings. In his last 10 matches against them, he has struck nine 30+ scores and a total of 621 runs at an average of 77.63 and strike rate of 143.09.
Rajat Patidar has been the standout player in RCB’s top four in recent matches. The right-hander has scored 52, 21 and 48 in his last three outings. According to ESPNCricinfo, Patidar has batting impact score of 39.75, which is the best for RCB this season.
Glenn Maxwell is threatening to break loose. He has struck six double-figure scores in his past eight knocks, but has only crossed 35 once. He has made scores of 12 and 33 at Brabourne this season.
Dinesh Karthik has the best strike rate of any player with at least 150 runs this season. His 274 runs come at an incredible strike rate of 200, which includes a 14-ball 32 against PBKS earlier in IPL 2022.
Wanindu Hasaranga is coming off a magnificent 5/18 against SRH. Three of his wickets came in the middle overs, where he will be key today against PBKS’ hard-hitting lineup.
Josh Hazlewood continues to go from strength-to-strength. He has taken 13 wickets in eight games at an economy of 6.81, including four wickets at an economy of 5.58 in the powerplay and five wickets at an economy of 4.75 in the middle overs (7-16).
Since the beginning of 2021, Hazlewood has taken 55 wickets in 35 T20s at an average of 17.13 and economy rate of 7.13.
Punjab Kings:
Shikhar Dhawan (381 runs in IPL 2022 – sixth-most) has struck scores of 50, 32, 54, 6, 43 and 43 in his last six innings against RCB. He has five 30+ scores in five innings at Brabourne (total of 274 runs, avg. 30.44, SR 131.10).
Jonny Bairstow found some form last game against RR (56 off 40 balls). He has scored 187 runs at a strike rate of 166.96 in his three matches against RCB.
Liam Livingstone has struck two 50+ scores at Brabourne this season. With Wanindu Hasaranga and RCB finding success in the middle overs, it will be on Livingstone to help PBKS keep the momentum going.
Livingstone is PBKS’ second-highest run-scorer this season: 315 in 11 games at a strike rate of 184.21.
Kagiso Rabada will be key in the powerplay – a period where RCB have struggled in at times in IPL 2022. The Protea has taken eight wickets in 10 matches in the first six overs this season. Also, he has a very impressive 13 wickets in six matches vs RCB.
Rabada has got the better of Virat Kohli in T20s: 33 balls bowled, 37 runs conceded, three dismissals. Also, Rabada will be key against Dinesh Karthik, whom he has dismissed three times in 19 balls in the IPL (14 runs).
Rahul Chahar has gone wicketless in three of his past four matches. However, he has performed well at Brabourne, with figures of 3/24, 1/41 and 1/21.
Other Stats and Facts
Head-to-head: Matches 29, RCB 13, PBKS 16.
Sandeep Sharma has dismissed Virat Kohli seven times in 59 deliveries in the IPL.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa has struck five 20+ scores in seven matches this season at an overall strike rate of 166.11. He has scored 51 off 35 against Hasaranga in T20s (one dismissal).
Arshdeep Singh has been magnificent at the death. Also, he has conceded just five sixes in 38 overs, the least of any bowler who has bowled at least 35.
Wanindu Hasaranga has conceded just 23 runs off 27 balls vs Dhawan (one dismissal) and six runs off nine balls vs Bairstow (one dismissal).
Brabourne Stadium Pitch Report and Weather
This is the first match on this ground in a week. The last match between MI and GT saw some grip and turn, but this one could play differently as it will be a fresh surface. In fact, Brabourne is home to the highest run rate (9.17) this season.
Humidity levels will be around 70%, so there will be a chance of dew.

CSK vs MI Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Match 59 | CSK vs MI Dream11 Prediction Today | Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians Key Players | Wankhede Pitch Report
Only pride is on the line for the Mumbai Indians, but you know the Wankhede will still be rocking. Chennai Super Kings have a tiny ray of hope left, especially given Rajasthan’s loss to Delhi yesterday. So, the CSK fans will definitely be rocking.
No matter where these two old rivals are placed on the IPL 2022 table, the IPL El Classico is always a significant occasion. It was the case the last time these two teams met earlier this season, where MS Dhoni rescued CSK with some trademark finishing to send DY Patil and social media into raptures.
Now, with MI officially knocked out, all they can do is aim to take CSK with them. Given the rivalry between the teams, that is quite the motivation, and Jasprit Bumrah is coming off a magnificent 5/10 that he will want to build on. MS Dhoni’s team must win all their remaining three matches to stand a chance at a miracle qualification, and with the incredible form of Devon Conway and talent sprinkled throughout their team, anything is possible.
Devon Conway has belted three half-centuries in a row: 87 (49), 56 (37) and 85 (55). He has been particularly brutal on spinners, with 114 runs at a strike rate of 196.55 and just one dismissal.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has a score of 88 vs MI, but just four runs in his remaining three innings against them. He has struck some form in recent matches, with scores of 30, 99, 28 and 41 in his last four outings.
Moeen Ali took 3/13 in his last match vs DC, and he could be key today with left-handers Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma in MI’s top three. Also, Moeen smashed 58 off 36 against MI on this ground last season.
Ambati Rayudu could be the gamechanger in this match. He has scored 296 runs in 11 innings vs MI since the start of 2017 at an average of 37.00 and strike rate of 137.67. He is also one of three players to have 1,000+ runs at the Wankhede.
Dwayne Bravo has the most wickets in MI-CSK matches. The impressive Bravo has taken 32 wickets in 20 matches vs MI, including 2/36 earlier this season. Also, no bowler has taken more wickets at the death this season than the West Indian (11).
Also, CSK could look to use Bravo early. He has dismissed Rohit five times in 72 deliveries in the IPL for a total of 82 runs.
Mukesh Choudhary ripped MI apart earlier this season. The left-armer took 3/19, including the wickets of both openers Rohit and Ishan.
Mumbai Indians:
Ishan Kishan has found some form. The left-hander has struck 51 and 45 in his last two games. Also, he has scored 170 runs against CSK at an average of 34.00 and strike rate 126.87.
However, can Ishan turn around a poor record at the Wankhede? He has scored 242 runs in 13 innings on this ground at an average of 18.62 and strike rate of 138.29.
Tilak Varma missed out last game vs KKR (6), but that doesn’t take away from his brilliant season: 11 innings, 334 runs, avg. 37.11, SR 136.32. He is MI’s leading scorer in IPL 2022.
Kieron Pollard has struggled with the bat this season, but he could be key with the ball today. He has dismissed Conway thrice in 17 balls (17 runs), Uthappa thrice in 32 balls (42 runs) and Moeen twice in 25 balls (25 runs).
Daniel Sams will be key up-front. He dismissed Gaikwad first ball in their earlier meeting in IPL 2022. In fact, Gaikwad has been dismissed nine times by left-arm seam in just 127 deliveries in the IPL (avg. 18.3, SR 129.9).
Sams took 4/30 against CSK earlier this season. In addition to Gaikwad, he also dismissed Dube and Rayudu.
Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets in his first 10 matches this season, and then took a brilliant 5/10 vs KKR. He will be aiming to improve on his record vs CSK, which reads: 13 inns, 11 wickets, avg. 36.64, econ. 7.95.
Bumrah has the third-most wickets at the Wankhede (39, SR 21.69). He has dismissed Uthappa twice in 40 deliveries for 54 runs, Rayudu twice in 38 deliveries for 54 runs and Dube twice in 17 deliveries for 10 runs.
Other Stats and Facts
Head-to-head: Matches 34, MI 20, CSK 15.
Rohit Sharma has the most runs for MI against CSK: 693 runs, avg. 30.13, SR 128.33. Also, he has the most runs of any player the Wankhede (1,990, avg. 35.54), with his last six scores reading: 39, 71, 55, 24, 28 and 47
Dwayne Bravo vs Kieron Pollard in T20s: 168 balls bowled, 265 runs scored, 10 dismissals.
Bravo has taken five wickets in two matches at Wankhede this season.
Maheesh Theekshana has taken six wickets in the powerplay this season, the most of any spinner.
Wankhede Stadium Pitch Report and Weather
There have been three 190+ scores in the last four matches at the Wankhede. The team batting first and second have won two matches each in this time. In this game, chasing may be the way to go with some dew around.

RR vs DC Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2022 Match 58 | RR vs DC Dream11 Prediction Today | Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals Key Players | DY Patil Pitch Report
It has been an up and down season for Delhi Capitals. The last match against CSK was a significant down, so will today be an up? COVID-19 played a role once again for Rishabh Pant’s team this season, as a fresh positive case emerged in their camp before the 91-run drubbing at the hands of CSK. They must bounce back today as they need to win their remaining matches to stand a realistic chance of qualifying for the playoffs (IPL 2022 playoff qualification scenarios here).
In addition to the uncertainty off the field, there has been uncertainty on it. Just as they look to build some momentum, they suffer a defeat to halt whatever progress they make. They have had a win-loss pattern in their past eight games, and if that pattern continues here, they will pick up a crucial win.
There is also a big incentive for Rajasthan Royals. Lucknow’s heavy defeat yesterday means that Sanju Samson’s team can move into second place on net run rate today, which can be vital in their quest for a first title since 2008. However, they will have to overcome the absence of the brilliant Shimron Hetmyer, who is currently on paternity leave. Whoever comes in needs to make an impact in the middle – a period where the Royals fell away a little in their final-over victory against Punjab on Saturday.
Jos Buttler took DC apart earlier this season (116 off 65 balls). The Orange Cap holder (618 runs) also has a magnificent record at the DY Patil, with two half-centuries and a century in his three matches.
Yashasvi Jaiswal made a successful return to the team last match. He top scored with a 41-ball 68.
Sanju Samson has the numbers against DC that are reflective of his career. He has struck 280 runs for the Royals against Delhi at an average of 28.00 and strike rate of 138.61. This does include a blistering 19-ball 46* earlier in IPL 2022, after the openers put on a massive stand of 155.
Samson has struck eight double-figure scores in a row in IPL 2022. However, he has crossed 50 just once in that time. Will today be the day?
Prasidh Krishna was a gamechanger against DC earlier this season (3/22). This included a wicket-maiden in the 19th over of a tight run chase. He dismissed Warner, Pant and Lalit Yadav that night.
Yuzvendra Chahal is coming off a brilliant spell against PBKS (3/22). The Purple Cap holder (22 wickets) took 1/28 against DC in a 200 vs 200 match earlier in IPL 2022. He takes a wicket every 21 deliveries on average against Delhi.
Trent Boult has taken just two wickets in his past six matches. But, he does have some decent numbers against DC’s openers. He has dismissed Warner twice for 48 runs in 50 deliveries and Shaw thrice for 28 runs in 25 deliveries.
Delhi Capitals:
David Warner has struck six 20+ scores in his last seven innings against the Royals. One of the IPL’s best ever players is striking at 156.90 this season, and is one of the top-five run-scorers (375).
It has been a bit of a frustrating season for Mitchell Marsh. The all-rounder has looked good in most innings he has played, and has struck five double-figure scores in five matches. His top score is 37.
Similar applies to Rishabh Pant, who has made start after start in IPL 2022. He has struck 281 runs this season at an average of 31.22 and strike rate of 152.71 without a single 50+ score. This includes a 24-ball 44 vs RR earlier this season.
Pant has magnificent numbers against the Royals: 8 inns, 344 runs, avg. 57.33, SR 166.99.
Rovman Powell has smashed 138 runs off his last 81 deliveries, including a 15-ball 36* against RR. The Royals have the second-worst economy rate at the death this season (11.70), so Powell could be key.
RR were a little shaky in the middle overs against Punjab. This is where Khaleel Ahmed can make an impact. The left-armer has taken seven wickets in 54 deliveries between overs 7-15 in IPL 2022. This is part of 16 wickets in eight matches this season.
Shardul Thakur has dismissed Devdutt Padikkal thrice in 22 deliveries in T20s.
Other Stats and Facts
Head-to-head: Matches 25, RR 13, DC 12.
RR (222/2) beat DC (207/8) in a high-scoring thriller earlier in IPL 2022.
If Warner gets through the initial overs, watch out. He has excellent numbers against Chahal in T20s: 76 balls faced, 128 runs scored, one dismissal.
Since the start of IPL 2021, Jaiswal has struck 223 runs at an strike rate of 142.03 in the powerplay.
Jos Buttler struck 34 off 11 balls against Kuldeep Yadav earlier this season. Before that game, Kuldeep had figures of 2/36 in 35 balls vs Buttler in T20s.
Mitch Marsh has taken a wicket in his last two matches and has excellent batting numbers in T20s since the start of 2021: 44 inns, 1,280 runs, avg. 38.78, SR 138.22.
DY Patil Pitch Report and Weather
The pitches at the DY Patil have been a little two-paced in recent matches. The team batting first has won the past two matches, with CSK smashing 208/6 before KKR beat MI after scoring 165/9. KKR did look good for many more, but Bumrah had other ideas with 5/10.
Another warm evening is forecast, with some dew likely.

Cricket News: Australia Cricket Schedule 2022-23: Bumper Tours & World Cups | Australia men’s cricket team schedule 2022 and 2023
The Australia men’s cricket team has a bumper schedule over 2022-23, with huge tours, high-profile visits and two World Cups headlining the calendar.
Soon after the 2022 Indian Premier League concludes, Australia will tour Sri Lanka for three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests, of which they have named a 34-man squad. The last time Australia toured Sri Lanka, they were blanked 3-0 in the Tests, and will now want redemption especially after a morale-building 1-0 win in challenging conditions in Pakistan earlier this year.
Australia’s home season will kick off in August with three ODIs in Townsville against Zimbabwe. This series was originally scheduled for 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, New Zealand are set to visit for three ODIs all to be played in Cairns. This will be New Zealand’s first appearance in Australia since the Sydney ODI behind closed doors in March 2020.
It is believed Australia tour India for three T20Is in September, but that is yet to be confirmed. Australia will then play five T20Is at home against West Indies and England, before aiming to defend their T20 World Cup crown at home in October-November. Four days after the World Cup Final, Australia will begin their three-match ODI series vs England.
Australia Cricket Schedule 2022-23: Australia will aim to defend their T20 World Cup crown on home soil.
Then, it will be all about the Tests. West Indies will play two Test matches down under, followed by a highly-anticipated visit by South Africa for three matches and then a three-match ODI series. The Proteas have an excellent record in Australia, and will be aiming to continue that in 2022-23.
Following the conclusion of the home season, Australia will tour India for four Test matches in February-March 2023. Not since 2004 have the Aussies won a Test series in India, and they have only tasted success once in 14 matches on Indian soil since that historic series win.
In June-July 2023, Australia will attempt to retain the Ashes on enemy soil. Steve Smith and Pat Cummins led the way in England in 2019, as they retained the urn courtesy of a 2-2 series draw.
Following that, Pat Cummins’ team will tour South Africa in August 2023 for three Tests. This series was scheduled for March 2021, but Australia pulled out at the 11th hour due to COVID-19. However, the tour of South Africa might not be set in stone, as the 2023 ODI World Cup is also scheduled for August in India.
Australia men’s cricket schedule 2022-23
June-July 2022: Tour of Sri Lanka, three T20Is, three ODIs, two Tests
August-September 2022: Host Zimbabwe (three ODIs) and New Zealand (three ODIs)
September 2022: Tour of India, three T20Is (yet to be confirmed)
October 2022: Host West Indies (two T20Is) and England (three T20Is)
October-November 2022: T20 World Cup in Australia
November 2022: Host England (three ODIs)
December 2022-January 2023: Host West Indies (two Tests) and South Africa (three Tests)
January 2023: Host South Africa (three ODIs)
February-March 2023: Tour of India, four Tests
June-July 2023: Ashes tour of England, five Tests
August 2023: Tour of South Africa, three Tests (yet to be confirmed)
