After winning their first match in the IPL 2021, Orange Army Sunrisers Hyderabad will go down to the wire with the Delhi Capitals for the 20th match of the IPL. This also happens to be their last match of both the teams in Chennai.

Orange Army bowlers kept Punjab batters in check in the last game and restricted them to 120 in their 20 overs. Khaleel Ahmed was the pick of bowlers from SRH Camp, as he ended up with 3 wickets and just gave away 21 runs from his 4 overs.

While chasing a low total, David Warner (37 off 37 and Jonny Bairstow (63 off 56 balls) started brilliantly and sealed the game in the first 6 overs. Then, the calmness of Kane Williamson shone through. They have a lot of positives to take from this match and SRH fans will hope that this win makes the tournament wide open for them, despite the loss of T Natarajan for the rest of the tournament.

At the same time, Delhi Capitals went to beat the Defending Champions in their last match. That also happened to be their first win at Chepauk since 2010. They made most of their bowling resources against MI. They started with Stoinis who got de Kock early which eventually set up the match for them. After that, Mishra (4/24) came and did what he does best. He was adjudged Man of the Match for his performance.

Despite Shreyas being missing out, Capitals batter has done well so far, and with Steve Smith chipping in, they would be more confident going into the next match against SRH.

Delhi Capitals

  • Shikhar Dhawan – Dhawan will be up against his previous side. In opposition to SRH, he has 148 runs with an average of 24.7. Although we don’t have enough sample size the present record suggests that he has not done much damage in 2nd innings. However, he is in superb form.
  • Prithvi Shaw – Shaw has 147 runs from 6 innings at an average of 24.5 vs SRH. He has an identical record in both innings.
  • Steve Smith – Smith will be up against his Aussie Teammate David Warner. He has 273 runs from 10 innings at an average of 30.3 vs SRH.
  • Marcus Stonis – Stoinis has 54 and 3 wickets run against SRH. All these 3 wickets came in last year’s Eliminator.
  • Axar Patel – Patel has 134 runs from 99 runs at an average of 19.1. He also has 9 wickets against SRH.
  • Ravi Ashwin – Ashwin has 9 wickets from 13 innings against SRH. He will be playing at his home ground.
  • Kagiso Rabada – Rabada has 11 wickets from 6 innings against SRH. Out of 11 wickets, 9 have come bowling second. With his Slower one and Cutters, he will be a top choice for the C/VC role in Grand Leagues.
  • Amit Mishra – Mishra was part of Sun Risers Hyderabad earlier, while playing against them he has 8 wickets from 11 innings. He is coming off a great spell vs MI on this ground.
  • Avesh Khan has bowled once against SRH and was not among the wickets but he has brilliant in the tournament so far.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

  • David Warner –  Warner started his IPL career with Delhi. While Playing against them he has 442 runs from 13 innings at an average of 39.75. He looked good in the previous innings and that makes him excellent. 
  • Jonny Bairstow – Jonny Bairstow has 142 runs from 3 innings at an average of 47.3. He has been simply magnificent this season after getting his opening spot back.
  • Kane Williamson – Big Kane showed why SRH needs to pick him in every match. In opposition to Delhi, he has 405 runs in his 10 innings, at an average of 61.25. Crucial player.
  • Vijay Shankar – Shankar was part of Delhi camp previousl. While playing against them, he has 42 runs and a wicket.
  • Rashid Khan –  Magician has got his best record against Delhi. In his 6 innings, he has 11 wickets. With the Chepauk condition and his record in mind, he will be the best option of C/VC in Grand Leagues.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar – Bhuvi has 13 wickets from 16 innings against Delhi. He did not bowl in the death overs in the previous match which raises concern over his fitness but as of now, there is no update from SRH management. He is in some doubt however.
  • Khaleel Ahmed has 7 wickets from 3 innings against Delhi. He is a wicket-taker in general.

After nearly two weeks, it’s time for one of the most anticipated clashes of the IPL. It’s Thala vs Super V. Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both sides are flying, and this should be a beauty.

To give you a context of how big this rivalry has been over the years, CSKvsRCB started trending on Twitter almost 72 hours prior to the match but there is more to this story. For a long time now, there has been a dispute over the Kaveri River which flows through the two states involved in these franchises, and that brings all sorts of emotions from both the sides in this match. Some fans might argue that MIvsCSK is the EL-Classico of the IPL, but this contest is much more than that. It involves emotions, and sports are all about feelings.

Now talking about the game, Royal Challengers were at their absolute best in their previous match. Devdutt Paddikkal (101 off 52 balls) outshined Super V to played his best IPL innings so far. The duo put up a 178 run stand which was RCB’s highest opening stand since 2013 which eventually resulted in a thumping 10-wicket win vs KKR. Siraj and Harshal picked 3 wickets each. 

Earlier, Faf du Plessis has told us that he is getting better with age as wine does, and he proved the same with his awe-inspiring knock of 95 from 60 balls. His counterpart Gaikwad also joined the party and brought his first fifty of IPL 2021. In their bowling department, Deepak Chahar had KKR limping in his opening spell. He picked the top four KKR batters and sealed the match there itself.  

When RCB and CSK play, it’s always a thrilling battle. This should be no different with both sides playing really good cricket.

  • Virat Kohli –  Kohli has 887 runs from 25 innings at an average of 42.2 vs CSK. This is his second-best rest record against any team in the IPL after Delhi.
  • Devdutt Padikal– Padikal has 55 runs at an average of 27.5 from his 2 innings vs CSK. He is coming off a superb century vs RR. RCB Fans hope that they get to see more of Padikkal 
  • Glenn Maxwell – Big Show has 226 runs from 7 innings at an average of 37.7 vs CSK.  He has done well while batting second innings. Also, Maxwell is enjoying a terrific IPL 2021, helping transform RCB.
  • AB de Villers – AB de Villers has a poor record vs CSK, by his standards. He has 516 from 23 innings at an average of 24.6. We will fall of words if we start to describe the greatness of Mr. 360, so he’s always capable of a big knock.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal – Chahal has 12 wickets from his 11 innings at an average of 24.7.  
  • Washington Sundar – Sundar will be playing his state-based Franchise CSK. He has 2 wickets from 3 innings against them.
  • Mohammad Siraj has 1 wicket from 4 innings against CSK. However, he looks a transformed bowler in IPL 2021.
  • Kane Richardson – Highly regarding for his T20 death bowling skills, Kane has played against CSK once and has managed to pick 1 wicket.

Chennai Super Kings

  • Faf Du Plessis – Faf has an average of 34.7 with 243 runs from 9 innings vs RCB. He will look to continue from where he left off in the last innings.
  • Ruturaj Gaikwad – Gaikwad has played once vs RCB, scoring 65 runs from 51 balls. He soared back into form last game with a half-century vs KKR.
  • Suresh Raina – Raina did not get the chance to bat in the previous match. Against RCB he has 661 runs in 27 innings at an average of 30. He has an idential record in both innings. 
  • Moeen Ali –  Ali did not change with RCB last year and this is will be his chance to grind his previous team. He has been simply magnificent so far in IPL 2021.
  • Ravindra Jadeja– Jadeja has 16 wickets and  216 runs from 19 innings at an average of 18. His fielding has been electric.
  • Sam Curran – Sam went for plenty in previous innings. he has 4 wickets from 3 innings vs RCB. He has not much chance with the bat so far.
  • Lungi Ngidi played his first game last time out, and picked 3 wickets. He will be key at the backend.
  • Deepak Chahar has 5 wickets from 6 innings vs RCB. All 5 wickets have come while bowing first. Also, Chahar has been brilliant in the powerplay this season. Can he dismantle RCB?

After losing their respective games, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals will go head to head in a crucial match to mark the 18th match of IPL 2021.

Royals were asked to bat first in their previous but failed to get the best of the start. Siraj struck early to knock Buttler and Vohra off. After that Samson did a Samson – yes you guessed it right – he dismissed himself yet again. Dube and Tewatia came to the rescue after that and the Royals ended up with 177 from their 20 overs.

While defending, the 11 Royals on the field were turned into mere spectators by Young Padikkal and his Master Kohli. The Classic Opening Duo gave a proper hammering to the Royals and won the game by 10 wickets. Now, the challenge is amplified for the Royals, who will be without Jofra Archer for the entire tournament. So, they will be desperate for their top order to perform to take pressure off their bowlers.

Now coming to Kolkata Knight Riders. Although they lost the match against CSK, and there can be a lot of debate on their bowling performance, their lower-middle order was simply magnificent. After being 31-5 in the powerplay itself, they got to 202 in 19.1 overs courtesy of a brilliant batting display from Russell (54 off 22 balls), Dinesh Karthik (40 off 24 balls), and Pat Cummins who won hearts for his breathtaking 66 off 34 balls.

Both the teams have fallen slightly off the radar in the last few games but Kolkata has the momentum on their side because of their finish in the last game, and they will like to make most of it.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Kolkata Knight Riders

  • Shubman Gill – Gill got out without troubling the scorers in the previous match. Against Royals, he has 131 runs with an average of 32.8 from 5 innings. He will be a good pick in all leagues and differential choice of C/VC in GL. Can he finally produce a big score?
  • Nitish Rana– Rana has 102 runs from 6 innings vs RR at an average of 20.4.  While batting in the first innings, his average goes down to 11.5.  He has played a lot at Wankhede and that will be an added advantage with him.
  • Rahul Tripathi – Tripathi has 39 runs from 1 innings against Royals. The lack of sheer pace in the Royals attack makes Tripathi a handy pick for this match. He was part of Royals camp earlier, after a break-through IPL season with Rising Pune Supergiants, Royals did not make full use of his ability.
  • Eoin Morgan –  Morgan has got his best record against the Royals. In 5 innings, he has 243 runs with an average of 81. The onus will be on Captain Morgan to perform or else it will be too late for his side. Try him in Grand Leagues. 
  • Dinesh Karthik– Kartik has 352 runs from 14 innings vs RR at an average of 29.3. His average goes up to 42.8 while batting first. 
  • Andre Russell– Russell was destructive against CSK. Against Royals, he has 6 wickets and 168 runs from 8 innings at an average of 28. Definitely a key player today.
  • Pat Cummins – Pat Cummins has 5 wickets from 2 innings against the Royals. The Royals have lost plenty of powerplay wickets this season, so watch out for Cummins. He took 4/34 against them in IPL 2020.
  • Sunil Narine – Narine has 136 runs at an average of 17 along with 10 wickets vs RR. 
  • Prasidh Krishna has 5 wickets from 4 innings against the Royals.
  • Varun Chakravarty has 4 scalps from 2 innings against the Royals.
  • Kamlesh Nagarkoti has 3 wickets from 2 innings in opposition to the Royals. He comes from Rajasthan and will be up against his state-based Franchise which will bring the best out of him. This also makes him a good option to have in Grand leagues.

Rajasthan Royals

  • Jos Buttler – Jos Buttler has 240 runs from 8 innings vs KKR at an average of 34.3. His average goes up to 50 while batting first. Buttler will be up against his National Captain. 
  • Sanju Samson – Samson has 334 runs from 14 innings vs KKR at an average of 23.9. Honestly, we looked a bit disappointed after throwing his wicket away and he might take more responsibility when he steps into the park today.
  • Chris Morris – Morris has 15 wickets and 44 runs against KKR. He will be a good choice of C/VC and can be paired with Gill/Buttler as C/VC in one of your teams.
  • David Miller – Miller has 199 runs at an average of 24.9 from 11 innings. He has a better record while batting second against KKR.
  • Riyan Parag – Riyan has 48 runs from 3 innings in opposition to KKR. He has bowled in some innings against them but he is yet to take a wicket. He will be a good pick in Grand leagues with his All-Rounder Value and the fact he’s looked good with the bat this season.
  • Rahul Tewatia has 9 wickets and 61 runs at an average of 20.3 vs KKR.
  • Mustafizur Rahman has 2 wickets from 3 innings against KKR.

“Pitch No 7. This was the pitch used for Match 2 and 4 this season and we have had 816 runs scored. It’s an absolute belter. It’s the 2011 World Cup pitch as well. Groundsmen Ramesh and the team have done a great job. Nice covering grass, good sound too. Tap tap tap (tests the surface with his knuckles). Nice and hard. The ball comes through nicely. The quicks have had some success, been a bit of swing and movement. On pitches, on either side (6 and 8) we’ve had some turn as well. As it’s drying out through the tournament we may see some turn. There’s a nice breeze blowing across that may keep the dew away. Hope it stays away. 185-190. Put them on the board and you may be able to defend it.”

Mumbai Indians were trumped by Delhi Capitals in their last match. Capitals went to win their first match at Chepauk after 11 long years. In the 16th match of IPL 2021, Mumbai Indians will go head to head with Punjab Kings who have lost their previous 3 matches.

While batting first on a tricky pitch in their previous match, Mumbai Indians could only manage 137 for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. They were blown away by Mishra Magic. Mishra picked 4 wickets by conceding just 24 runs and showed the world yet again why he is regarded as an IPL Legend. Rohit Sharma (44 off 30 balls) was the top scorer for his side.

  • Quinton de Kock – Quinny has got a strong average against Kings in the IPL. In 8 innings, he has 293 runs at an average of 41.9 against them.
  • Suryakumar Yadav – SKY has 228 runs from 12 innings at an average of 20.7, his average further goes down to 13.6 while batting first. He has not enjoyed much success against Kings but players with the sub-standard record are doing well and with the current form, SKY could be next in line. He has been looking good in IPL 2021 without going on to make the big score.
  • Kieron Pollard – Polly has got a good record against Kings. In 20 innings he has 5 wickets and 498 runs at an average of 38.3.  
  • Hardik Pandya – Flamboyant Pandya got out on a golden duck in the last match. Against Kings, he has 3 wickets and 169 runs from 9 innings at an average of 24.1. The spotlight will be on him to perform.
  • Krunal Pandya – Senior Pandya has 4 wickets and 127 runs from 6 innings at an average of 25.4 vs PBKS.  
  • Rahul Chahar – Chahar has 5 wickets from 4 innings against Kings. He is better with every match. Watch out for him throughout the tournament. 
  • Jasprit Bumrah has 17 wickets from his 12 innings vs Kings. 11 have come bowling first.

  • KL Rahul – KL has got one of the best batting records against MI. In 12 innings he has 580 runs at an average of 64.4.  KL missed out in the last match and after losing the previous three games, there is a bit of extra pressure on him to perform.
  • Mayank Agarwal– Mayank has 211 runs from 12 innings at an average of 19.2. vs MI  He has an identical record in both innings. However, he has shown some promising form in the last two games of IPL 2021.
  • Chris Gayle – Universe Boss got bossed by Rashid Khan in the last match. Against MI, he averages 41.5 with 664 runs from 18 innings. During the pitch report if you see a new deck is being used, try him as C/VC only in the 1-2 GL Team.
  • Nicholas Pooran –  So far Nicky P has a Silver Duck 0 (2), Golden Duck 0 (1), Diamond Duck (0). Very few people know that Pooran was part of the Mumbai Indians camp early on in his career as he did not get a single chance to play for them. Watch out for him and do pick him in Grand leagues.
  • Deepak Hooda – Hooda has 115 runs from 7 innings against MI. He was seen bowling a good amount of overs in the previous match, and has been in good touch with the bat. He will be up against Krunal Pandya.
  • Fabian Allen – Allen made a debut for Kings in the previous match and picked up a wicket.
  • Mohammad Shami – Shami has gone wicketless in the previous two matches but that does not change the fact that he is the leader of the pack. Pick him in Grand Leagues. In 8 matches he has 9 wickets against MI.

After conquering Chepauk, Royal Challengers Bangalore move to the Wankhede for their next two matches. Here, they will be facing the inconsistent Rajasthan Royals in the quest for four straight wins to start IPL 2021.

In the 13 years gone by, RCB has won the first three games of the tournament for the first time. The team that has always been under the pump for its death bowling has finally managed to re-fashion it. After years, an RCB bowler (Harshal Patel) is leading the wicket-charts and has the Purple Cap on his head.

In their last match, RCB posted a giant total of 204 in their 20 overs courtesy of a master class from Big Show Maxi (78 off 49 balls) which was followed by another gem by Mr.360 (76 off 34 balls). The impressive part is that it was achieved on a slow Chepauk pitch. From their bowling department, Yuzi Chahal was back among the wickets, while Kyle Jamieson got 3 wickets and they successfully depended on the total.

Now, coming to the Royals. They have been hot and cold in the tournament so far. They lost their last match by 45 runs while chasing a score of 188. Jos Buttler was their top scorer with 49 runs; their middle order has done well so far, but it’s high time that the likes of Shivam Dube rise to the occasion. 

Rajasthan Royals also suffered a blow when English All-Rounder Liam Livingstone opted out of the tournament and flew back home due to Bio-bubble fatigue.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

  • Virat Kohli – Kohli fell early in the last match courtesy of a blinder from Tripathi. Against Royals, he has not been at his very best, in 21 innings 482 runs at an average of 26.8. However, his averages go up to 45.3 while batting second. Can he finally fire in this tournament?
  • Devdutt Padikkal – Padikkal has spent good time at the crease without fully firing. The Wankhede will suit his style of batting. He has 82 runs against RR from his 2 innings vs RR at an average of 41.
  • Glenn Maxwell – Maxi has 161 runs from 8 innings at an average of 26.8 vs RR. He has an identical record in both innings. However, it is a different Maxi in 2021. He currently has the second-most runs (176 runs, avg. 58.66, SR 149.15).
  • AB de Villers – Mr.360 has got a superlative record against Royals. In 19 innings he has 648 runs at an average of 46.3. Overall in his T20 career, ABD has done well batting first comparatively. He will be a great choice of C/VC in Grand Leagues.
  • Daniel Christian – We might see Daniel Christian back in the playing 11 against Royals. He has played against them twice and made 55 runs also picked up a wicket. If he plays, he is worth a punt in 1-2 GL Teams. However, there is also a chance that Finn Allen plays due to this being a batting pitch.
  • Harshal Patel has 7 wickets from 4 innings against the Royals. Right from the first match, Kohli has praised him for all his efforts. He has taken nine wickets in three games in IPL 2021.
  • Kyle Jamieson has bowled well so far in the tournament. In the last match, he picked 3 wickets. 
  • Yuzvendra Chahal has 16 wickets from 10 innings against the Royals. He has done slightly better bowling first against them.
  • Washington Sundar has bowled thrice against Royals and had not picked up a single wicket. All three innings have come bowling first. The way this IPL has gone so far, players with sub-standard records have performed on occasion, so don’t be surprised if Sundar also follows the ritual. Try him in 1-2 GL Team.

  • Jos Buttler – Buttler had a tussle with Kohli in the 5th match of the T20I series. After that he missed out in the ODI series and now this match is a perfect opportunity to level the score! Players forget things when they are off the field but while playing these small things does makes the difference. 
  • Against RCB he has 220 runs from 8 innings at an average of 31.4. He has a better record batting second.
  • Sanju Samson – Predicting Samson’s performance is one of the most difficult things in Fantasy sports. After an incredible performance in the first match, he has failed in two subsequent innings. Against RCB he has 259 runs from 14 innings at an average of 19.9. He has done well while bowling first comparatively.
  • David Miller – Miller’s best score of 101 came against RCB years back. Kohli called that innings one of the best he has ever seen, and I was fortunate to watch it live! Overall against RCB he has 251 runs from 10 innings at an average of 27.9. 
  • Shivam Dube – After being released from RCB, this will be Dube’s first match against them. So far he has not done much in the competition; he might have saved his best performance for his previous team. Not to forget he is also playing on his home ground. With his all-rounder value, he is worth a slot in a 1-2 GL team.
  • Riyan Parag has a wicket and 18 runs from his 1 innings against RCB. Rahul Tewatia has 57 runs and 2 wickets from his two innings against RCB.
  • Chris Morris – Like Dube, this will be Morris’s first match against RCB after he was released. In past, he has played 10 matches against them and picked 9 wickets.

Chennai Super Kings made a total of 188/9 in their 20 overs in which they got contributions from all their batters.   • Robin Uthappa-  Uthappa was part of KKR early in his career. Against them, he has 224 runs at an average of 22.4 in just 12 innings. 
  • Moren Ali-  Moeen Ali has answered all those who questioned CSK’s intent last season. He has been simply magnificent with bat and ball in IPL 2021. Against KKR he has 66 runs from 2 innings.
  • Suresh Raina – Raina has got the best record against KKR in the IPL. He has 818 runs from 22 innings at an average of 45.4. 
  • Ravindra Jadeja – Jadeja has a batting average of 40.6 with 365 runs from 21 innings vs KKR. He also has picked 15 wickets. Also, he has been a livewire in the field.
  • Sam Curran – Sam Curran has already started showing signs that he will rule the coming decade of the IPL. Against KKR he has 85 runs and 2 wickets, with his all-around ability he will be a good choice of C/VC in grand leagues.
  • Shardul Thakur has 5 wickets against KKR so far. All 5 have come while bowling first.

  • Shubman Gill – Gill has 118 runs from his 5 innings at an average of 29.5. The KKR Opener has looked in decent touch so far, but will want to go on with his starts.

“I want to compare the two venues. Down south in Chennai, it’s been a bat-first situation. 6 games played, 5 of them have won by teams batting first. It’s a turnaround here at Wankhede. 5 games played, 4 of them have won by the teams chasing and the other game separated by a solitary run. It means pitches here have offered either swing or seam to those bowling first or it’s been generally a good chasing ground because of moisture later on. This one is pitch number 6 where there was 147 scored where there was swing and seam. It looks drier and warmer today. If the ball swings, it won’t be because of the moisture on the surface. So, in the first 10 overs, you’ve gotta hit that good length area. The strike rate of bowlers who hit that area is much better but the trouble for bowlers later in the game is that little bit of dew that appears and allows the ball to slide onto the bat and the batsmen then feast on it. Great skill needs to come into play and once again yorkers in the second half of the innings are going to be key.”

Punjab Kings travel down south to go neck-and-neck with Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 14th match of IPL 2021. And this is certainly a crucial game for both teams.

For the first time in their IPL history, SRH has lost the first three matches of the IPL. Also, they are yet to win a game in Chennai in their history (six attempts). Despite getting good starts from their openers, their middle-order with the likes of Manish Pandey, Abdul Samad, Virat Singh found new ways to get out and were unable to finish the games.

Punjab Kings, on the other hand, made a significant improvement in their batting department after suffering a collapse against CSK. Mayank Agarwal stole the show with his 69 off 36 balls. KL also hung around and made 61 off 51 balls. However, they leaked runs in their bowling department, which is a common problem. Also, there were some question marks raised by experts on KL captaincy when KL did not bring Meredith till the 10th over of the match.

After winning the first match, the Punjab Kings have lost their previous two matches. An interesting battle awaits between both the teams who need a win badly to revive their campaign.

It’s time for the two IPL 2020 finalists to meet in IPL 2021. Defending champions Mumbai Indians will face last year’s runner-up Delhi Capitals for the 13th match of what’s been an intriguing tournament to date.

After losing the first match of the season, normalcy has resumed for Mumbai Indians and they have gained 4 points from their last two matches. A well-settled MI Camp has had contributions from all their players so far. In their last match, Rohit Sharma, along with Quinton de Kock provided a good start to their innings. Then, Mightly Pollard came and launched a quickfire 35 off 22 balls to get 150 runs on board at the end of 20 overs.  

While defending the score, it was business-as-usual for the MI bowlers. Bumrah (1/14) did not take many wickets but he arguably had the most impact on the game. Chahar, who now has seven wickets in his last two games, came and took wickets for fun. Boult (3/28) cleaned the tail.

We must confess that it has been Dhawan 2.0 since 2018. He has carried on his brilliant batting form and redefined the simple cliche of T20 Cricket. He was the architect of another Delhi win in his match-winning knock of 92 off 49 balls vs Punjab Kings.

Speaking on his new approach, he says “It was a conscious effort from my side. I knew I have to improve on that (strike rate). Started taking more risks. Not afraid of changes, always open towards it. Not scared of getting out as well. Have worked on a few shots”.

  • Suryakumar Yadav – SKY has 295 runs from 13 innings at an average of 29.5 vs DC.  Yadav is a boundary rider, despite failing with the bat, he gave 16 fantasy points with his catches.
  • Ishan Kishan – In his 10 innings against Capitals, he averages 101.6 with 279 runs. Since Delhi became Capitals from Daredevils, he has demolished them.
  • Krunal Pandya – Senior Pandya has a good record against Capitals. He has 9 wickets and 249 runs from 10 innings, at an average of 39.5. Try him in 1-2 Grand League Team.
  • Rahul Chahar – Rahul Chahar is coming and getting wickets for fun so far. He has seven scalps in his last two games. Against Capitals, he has 4 wickets from 4 innings so far.
  • Trent Boult – Boulty has 9 wickets from 4 innings against Capitals. He was traded from Capitals to MI.
  • Jasprit Bumrah –  Bumrah showed in the last match why he is regarded as the best T20 bowler. Against Delhi, he has 18 wickets from 15 innings.

  • Shikhar Dhawan – He started his IPL career with MI. While playing against them he has 748 runs from 24 innings at an average of 39.4. He has got a better record while batting first against them.
  • Prithvi Shaw– Mumbai Boy will be up against Mumbai Indians. So far he has not done much damage against them, he has 53 runs from 6 innings at an average of 8.8. However, he is looking in good touch in IPL 2021

Murali Kartik and Danny Morrison: “One side of the square boundary is short at 60m, the other is fairly long at 71m. The pitch looks a lot drier and darker as well, this is the same pitch on which the second game (which was a high-scoring one was played), but don’t think this is as good as a batting surface as that was. There could be some spin available as well – it’s a bat-first wicket, scoreboard pressure could be a telling factor on this pitch”.

Shane Warne in the 20th century, Matt Parkinson in the 21st? Mike Gatting in the 20th century, Adam Rossington in the 21st century?

Nearly 28 years after Shane Warne produced the ball of the century to dismiss Gatting, Matt Parkinson produced an absolute gem on the exact same ground for Lancashire against Northants. IPL 2021, which captures billions of eyeballs, is well underway. But, attention quickly turned to The County Championship, where leg-spinner Parkinson, consistently on the fringes of national selection, produced a near-identical delivery to the great Warne ball all those years ago.

The reactions were aplenty. And rightly so. Naturally, comparisons were drawn to the Warne delivery of 1993, with a range of opinions. Lancashire led the way with a cheeky, witty tweet. Shane Warne himself also chimed in.

Also, fans called for Parkinson to feature in England’s Test side going forward. Here are some of the Twitter reactions to Parkinson’s incredible delivery.
