Best Cricket References/Memes During the US Election | As the US Election rolls on, cricket fans describe the election in cricket terms
Ah, the US Election. Everywhere you look, the words “Trump”, “Biden”, “fraud” and many others stare right back in your face. It can be overwhelming at times, particularly given everything else that has been going in 2020.
So, a bit of humour can always lighten the mood. And what better way than using cricket terms and memes to describe the chaos that is the US 2020 Election. Cricket fans from all over the globe put together their memes and cricket scenarios to best describe the election, and it is safe to say we are not disappointed.
Below are some absolute beauties, across a number of different topics including reviews, Test cricket and more.
New king of the review
In the same week that Shane Watson announced his retirement from professional cricket, we have a new king of the review, Donald Trump.
US Citizens get a taste of Test cricket…. or a slow ODI?
Ebb-and-flow early on, followed by drama and there might not even be a winner after five days.
There are lots of comparisons of the American election to Test cricket.
It seems to me more like one of those horrible ODIs from the early 1990s where the team batting second chasing 150 nudges and nurdles their way to a win in 49.5 overs.
A contest that unfolds slowly over five days and even then might not produce a clear winner. Americans would find this election much easier to cope with if they had spent a lifetime following Test cricket.
Thank you cricket fans everywhere for a much-needed laugh. It has been one hell of a year, but a good cricket joke or two can always help lighten the mood.
England chief selector Ed Smith says he supports the idea of some rest time for the IPL players ahead of other assignments | England chief selector supports rest time for the IPL players
England chief selector Ed Smith has shown concern over the mental health of some of the country’s key players engaged in prolonged tournaments and back-to-back international assignments. Smith defended the idea of allowing some off time for Jofra Archer, Sam Curran and Ben Stokes, who all played in IPL 2020 and are expected to join South Africa tour.
It is only in recent times that ECB has encouraged their players to play for the franchise T20 games, but as the IPL got delayed due to the pandemic it now clashing with the further international games. “The ECB’s position for a number of years now has been to permit players to play in the IPL. And that has coincided with England’s very good form in white ball cricket, their World Cup success and also now their very strong T20 side. It’s been excellent to see players like Sam Curran do so well at the IPL and to really have those development opportunities”, said Smith.
Also, the bubble restrictions and quarantine period set by each board along with their respective governing body makes it all the more difficult for the estimate player’s availbility. “It’s going to have to be a case by case situation where we as selectors, but also players, constantly evaluate what’s in the players’ interests but also what’s in England’s interest. We’re very sensible about player workloads. To me, that’s a very important conversation. The ECB’s position has been to allow players to play in the IPL and we are going to take opportunities as selectors for England to rest one or two players when we think it’s a good opportunity to do so”, says Smith according to the report in Cricbuzz.
Smith also recommended to expand Engalnd’s pool of players which will give the management options to decide on playing XI as well as give the individual cricketer some time to rest and refresh. “We need to almost reconsider how we frame the concept of rest. What we are really thinking about here is not only a question of time in cricket and time out of cricket. But also what the circumstances of a player’s life are when they are playing. COVID protocols, which determine how a player can live his life, vary enormously, not only between competitions and between tours but within competitions. Really, what we are trying to work out is how draining and debilitating the circumstances are for that individual”, Smith said.
Even regarding the way the players rest is a matter of debate, as the board can’t have control over the family time they get, the places they visit during the ongoing pandemic and the environment they surrounded with.

If BCCI wants to test Rohit Sharma’s fitness again, there is nothing wrong with it: Sunil Gavaskar | Sunil Gavaskar says it is OK if BCCI want to test Rohit’s fitness
Rohit Sharma’s return to IPL 2020 last match before the Playoffs created quite a buzz, as he has been left out from the Australia tour citing his hamstring injury. While the batsman said during the Toss and post-match presentation that is “absolutely fine”, questions were raised to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly who had said that he has a hamstring tear and it will get ruptured again, just a day before the game.
In an interaction with a media group on YouTube, Sunil Gavaskar emphasized on BCCI wanting to test Sharma’s fitness. “He played the match to show that he is fit but if BCCI wants to test his fitness again, then there is nothing wrong in it. Because they want to check if he is fully fit or not”, he said.
Gavaskar says nothing wrong with fitness test for Rohit
The former India captain said that the concerns raised by head coach Ravi Shastri and BCCI President urging the senior player to take proper rest are a much valid stand. “Look, the concern shown by everyone collectively that there could be a rupture (if he hurries his return) is a valid one. But he looked confident. He fielded at the boundary ropes and also in the 30-yard circle. May be, he will be monitored. Normally, when you come back from injury, you need to play a few matches as match fitness determines your fitness status”, he said.
However, he also mentioned that the way India’s vice-captain had fielded on the ground shows that he was fir and is doing well. “Irrespective of how much you look fit in the nets, you are not stressed but when you have the pressure of a match, that gives an idea of how to fit you are,” he explained. So actually, there is no point going into the details of what happened earlier. Let’s talk about today and today he is fit”, he added.
Mumbai Indians reached the finale after defeating Delhi Capitals in the first Qualifier. MI dominated, setting a target of 200 runs and taking three wickets of DC in the first two overs to eventually win the game by 57 runs.

While talking about life in a bio-secure bubble, Virat Kohli, the India & RCB captain said that the length of the tournament or series is going to play a key role for the players. As the ongoing IPL series is almost at its last leg, after the schedule of it has been exhausted more than ever as the cricketers and support staff have to live in a restricted manner. There’s no doubt that life gets repetitive and that hampers the state of mind of the players when stepping out to play.
“These things will have to be considered,” Kohli said. “Like what length of the tournament or series one is going to play and what impact it will have on players mentally to stay in a similar environment for 80 days and not do anything different. Or have space to just go and see family or small things like that. These things have to be thought about seriously. At the end of the day, you want the players to be in the best state mentally, based on how they’re feeling. Those conversations should take place regularly.”
Despite losing four in a row, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face off in the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderbad, with the winner to face Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1. Mumbai Indians have secured their place in the finale by defeating DC in last match. However, as DC was second in the chart, they get two chances to enter the finale. Though RCB lost a few matches before the Playoffs, the team’s momentum can still be rescued considering some exciting innings from Devdutt Padikkal, Chris Morris and Yuzvendra Chahal among others.
Kohli also mentioned that RCB has been patiently enjoying its time in the bubble. “It’s repetitive, it’s not as tough when the group of guys is amazing, which we have. Everyone part of that bio-bubble is really nice, the vibe has been so good. That’s precisely why we’ve enjoyed playing together, just enjoyed our time in the bubble as well, but it does get difficult at times because it is repetitive”, Kohli told RCB TV.

How to Avoid Common Cricket Injuries | Some key tips to help you avoid common cricket injuries to ensure you are enjoying cricket for longer
Some sports will have much more of a physical impact upon the body than others. A handful of well-known examples include football, rugby, basketball, and ice hockey. This is why players will go to great lengths in order to ensure that they remain physically fit at all times. However, other sports can cause serious and possibly chronic issues if safety is not taken into account. Cricket is worth noting in this respect, as players can develop injuries that may severely limit their ability to enjoy the game. Let’s first take a look at some common risks before moving on to discuss the ways in which they can be reduced.
How to avoid common cricket injuries: prepare well for matches and acknowledge pains
What are Some Common Cricket-Related Injuries?
We are all aware that cricket involves a fair amount of high-intensity running (similar to baseball). This is why it only stands to reason that a considerable number of injuries involve the ankles and knees. Furthermore, players have been known to suffer hamstring pulls from time to time. Although some of these injuries can be resolved with simple rest, others could result in time away from the pitch or even the need for invasive surgery.
Other injuries result from batting. Similar to tennis in some ways, the elbow and wrists can be placed under significant loads of torque. If either over-rotates, minor sprains or small tears can occur. However, more severe and acute scenarios such as a torn rotator cuff are not entirely uncommon.
The problem here is that many players will tend to ignore minor pains; believing them to be transient in nature. It is only later when they realise that the damage has already been done. This is why it is crucial to take a quick look at how these scenarios can be mitigated.
Knowing When to Say When
Much like any other sport, players need to be able to obtain the proper amount of rest and relaxation. Diet is likewise important, as specific nutrients such as vitamin D, vitamin C and calcium can help to strengthen bones and the associated connective tissues. It is just as prudent to know when a bit of downtime is required. Those who suffer from chronic pains should make it a point to speak with their physician.
A handful of other tips should come in handy along the way. These include:
Being mindful of even the most minor aches and pains.
Wearing the proper gear at all times.
Consulting with a professional if an injury is suspected.
To be clear, cricket injuries cannot be avoided entirely. The main point should instead involve minimising the chances that one occurs. This is why the information outlined above will come in handy. So, feel free to bookmark this page for future inspiration if required.
IPL 2020 Eliminator: SRH vs RCB Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | SRH vs RCB Dream11 Prediction Today | Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Key Players | Abu Dhabi Pitch Report
It’s not often that we enter an IPL Eliminator match with two sides experiencing the complete opposite run of form. In a strange and unpredictable 2020, that is what we have here, with one side storming into the playoffs and the other doing just enough to make it.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s three straight wins has them rightly touted as a danger team in the IPL 2020 playoffs. They have hit top form at just the right time, producing strong performances with both bat and ball to overtake the likes of KKR and KXIP into the playoff places.
Indeed, their experience in do-or-die matches already this season can hold them in good stead. Skipper David Warner believes so, as his team has finally struck the balance that eluded them throughout IPL 2020. The form of Wriddhiman Saha and Sandeep Sharma has provided a strong platform for the likes of David Warner, Jason Holder and Rashid Khan to do their thing, and SRH will be hoping for more of the same today.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will have to overcome SRH’s good form, as well as their own poor form. RCB, one of the top teams in the first half of the season, are now on a run of four straight defeats, including a comprehensive loss at the hands of SRH last week. So, in their first playoffs appearance since IPL 2017, can RCB turn around their form to win this one and then play the out-of-form Delhi Capitals in the second Qualifier?
Skipper Virat Kohli has called for more bravery in the batting side of things, as RCB remain concerned about what’s to come after their number four. It will be interesting to see whether they make any changes to their batting order here to strike gold, but that approach is frought with risk in a knockout match. So, can RCB pass this test of nerves and qualify further?
IPL 2020 Eliminator: SRH vs RCB Preview Dream11: Kohli & ABD to fire?
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
At the start of the season, not many would have predicted that Wriddhiman Saha would replace the dynamic Jonny Bairstow. Even fewer would have thought that Saha would outplay the England opener and give SRH a completely different dimension. The keeper-batsman has struck 87, 39 and 58* in his last three knocks, and will be looking to continue the great form.
Also, what Saha’s inclusion has done is free up David Warner. The SRH skipper has struck two half-centuries in his last three games (66 and 85*), at an overall strike rate of 163.92. He missed out vs RCB a few days ago (8), but still possesses a superb record against them: 17 inns, 683 runs, avg. 45.53, SR 164.18.
So, can RCB’s openers make the kind of impact the SRH openers have been making? Devdutt Padikkal scored a half-century against SRH early in the season, but he and his opening partner need to overcome the threat of Sandeep Sharma.
Out of Sandeep’s 108 IPL wickets, 62 are openers and number threes. He has taken nine wickets in his last four games (2/29, 2/27, 2/20 and 3/34), and will have a key role to play once again.
Also, Sandeep has dismissed Virat Kohli seven times in 13 matches. So, it is a big game for the RCB skipper, who has crossed 40 just once in his last seven innings vs SRH. Overall, though, Kohli has performed well vs SRH (525 runs, avg. 40.30).
AB de Villiers is crucial to RCB’s chances. In RCB wins in IPL 2020, ABD has scored 246 runs at an average of 123 and SR of 203.31. In RCB losses, this comes down to 152 runs at an average of 21.71.
de Villiers has solid numbers against SRH, which includes a 30-ball 51 against them early in IPL 2020: 14 inns, 464 runs, avg. 35.69, SR 161.67.
Manish Pandey is enjoying a decent run of form, with 83*, 15, 44* and 26 in his last four knocks. He has scored 34 (33) and 26 (19) vs RCB this season. Can he build on those starts?
Kane Williamson for SRH vs RCB: 270 runs, avg. 54.00.
Jason Holder has been an excellent addition to SRH this season. He has taken 10 wickets in his five games to date, including 2/27 vs RCB a few nights ago.
RCB need Chris Morris to rediscover his best form, although his economy rate at the death remains solid. The RCB recruit has taken just two wickets in his last five games, after taking nine in his first four matches in IPL 2020. Also, he is on a run of four single-digit scores in row (2, 4, 3, 0), so RCB will want more from him with the bat, too.
Yuzvendra Chahal was player of the match vs SRH early in IPL 2020 (3/18). He has the most wickets in RCB-SRH matches (15 in 13 matches). Key player.
His opposite number, Rashid Khan, has taken at least one wicket in each of his last five matches (total of eight), and possesses an incredible economy rate of just 5.28 in IPL 2020.
Shahbaz Nadeem is coming off a man-of-the-match performance vs MI. RCB have usually struggled to score freely in the middle overs, so Nadeem could prove crucial today.
Both RCB and SRH have won one match each against each other in IPL 2020. SRH won the most recent meeting by five wickets at Sharjah.
Chahal to Pandey? The RCB leg-spinner has dismissed the SRH batsman four times in 48 balls, whilst conceding just 41 runs.
Virat Kohli strikes at just 108.10 in the middle overs in IPL 2020 (259 balls faced). So, RCB could look to open with Kohli and bring in Moeen Ali who has performed well in the middle overs since IPL 2018 (SR 160.50 at this stage).
AB de Villiers has a strike rate of 230.86 in the death overs in IPL 2020.
Possible Playing 11
Royal Challengers Bangalore: 1. Devdutt Padikkal, 2. Josh Philippe, 3. Virat Kohli (c), 4. AB de Villiers (wk), 5. Shivam Dube, 6. Chris Morris, 7. Washington Sundar, 8. Isuru Udana, 9. Shahbaz Ahmed/Navdeep Saini, 10. Mohammed Siraj, 11. Yuzvendra Chahal
Sunrisers Hyderabad: 1. David Warner (c), 2. Wriddhiman Saha (wk), 3. Manish Pandey, 4. Kane Williamson, 5. Priyam Garg/Abhishek Sharma, 6. Jason Holder, 7. Abdul Samad, 8. Rashid Khan, 9. Shahbaz Nadeem, 10. Sandeep Sharma, 11. T Natarajan
Abu Dhabi Pitch and Weather Report
Chasing teams have won the last six matches at Abu Dhabi, despite some big scores batting first (195 by MI vs RR and 186 by KXIP vs RR). So, the captain who wins the toss will likely chase given the dew around.
Dream11 Prediction
Option 1:
IPL 2020 Eliminator: SRH vs RCB Dream11 Prediction
Option 2:
IPL 2020 Eliminator: SRH vs RCB Dream11 Prediction
Match Prediction
The team batting first will need a strong score to provide a buffer with the dew factor. SRH, with their great form, start as favourites. But, if the Kohli-ABD duo fires, and if their bowling attack can deliver powerplay wickets, RCB have a great chance in this one. The same applies to SRH, so an interesting match awaits.
Wagner, Southee among others under injury clouds | New Zealand forced to manage injury concerns before WI Series
Just before the start of New Zealand’s international summer, Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, Ajaz Patel and Colin de Grandhomme have reported injuries. The seamers might not have a long-term problem, but Patel’s recovery from the calf strain could delay his entry to the squad. Coach Gary Stead has confirmed these matters to ESPNCricinfo.
Southee is suffering from a back injury, Wagner is having hip and groin issue while de Grandhomme is facing a nagging problem in his right foot. Three of them have been ruled out of Northern Districts’ next Plunket Shield match.
Taking a moment to remember former Firebirds Physio and manager David ‘Paints’ Painter who passed away at the age of 82 this week.#WEAREWELLINGTONpic.twitter.com/nNtBiw6L7Y
“Injuries are always a concern and we’re certainly monitoring each case closely with our medical staff. Tim Southee and Henry Nicholls are both expected to be fit for round four of the Plunket Shield. Neil Wagner and Colin de Grandhomme both have niggles and we are awaiting scan results on their respective injuries to ascertain the next steps. Likewise, Ajaz Patel had a scan on his left calf after suffering a setback in his return to play rehabilitation. An update on Neil, Ajaz and Colin will be provided once their scan results have been received and assessed”, said the coach to the media group.
The team management is aiming for Southee and de Grandhomme’s return in the New Zealand’s T20I squad which will start by the end of November, whereas Wagner and Nicholls could be part of the Test team which started on December 3 in Hamilton.

BBL 2020: Cricket Australia announces Dec schedule | Cricket Australia announces schedule for December matches in BBL 2020
Cricket Australia announced the December schedule of the upcoming Big Bash League which is about to begin in December. The tournament will be played in Tasmania, Queensland, Canberra, and Adelaide with 56 regular-season games, though the venues will be confirmed until December 31. With border restrictions and biosecurity protocols in place, the eight teams will be based in either Tasmania or Canberra to start the season, with six games to be played at Blundstone Arena in Hobart, two at UTAS Stadium in Launceston, and six at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
As per their official statement, from December 23 to 31, there will also be three matches at the Gabba, two at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast and two at the Adelaide Oval – including the traditional New Year’s Eve game. “We are working through scenarios for the 35 regular season matches and finals series to be played in the new year with our partners and government bodies,” Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s Head of Big Bash Leagues, said in a statement.
CA is hoping for some relaxation of border regulations until the first month of 2021, so that they could take games to Perth, Sydney and Melbourne in the New Year. “An announcement on these venues will be made in the coming weeks. This is without doubt the most complex fixturing task ever undertaken by the League and we are excited with where it has landed. It has been a difficult year for so many people around Australia and we look forward to bringing the BBL to every state, should border conditions allow us to”, added Dobson.
Decision on England players playing the BBL is still unfixed as they have expressed that the exhausting bubble life is taking a toll on them. Also, England’s tour to South Africa, ongoing Indian Premier League and Australia’s quarantine rules has put a question on their availability until after Christmas.
Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone (both Perth Scorchers), Tom Banton, Lewis Gregory (both Brisbane Heat), Dawid Malan (Hobart Hurricanes) and Tom Curran (Sydney Sixers) were this week all named in the England squad for their tour of South Africa, which finishes less than 24 hours before the BBL begins. Jonny Bairstow, Sam Billings and Reece Topley, who have all been in talks about BBL stints but have not officially signed, are also in the touring party, as mentioned in their official statement.

The Player’s mental health is at top priority this summer: Justin Langer | Justin Langer says managing the mental health of player is key this summer
After living in the bubble life for over a few months, former Australian opener and current coach Justin Langer says that managing player’s mental health during summers is going to be crucial. A bunch of players has been part of the bio-secure bubble right from August when the Aussies visited England for their first tour post-pandemic.
“When we sat down with all the boys individually in England and showed them the schedule coming up, you could see the blood drain out of their face – for personal and professional reasons,” Langer said this in a chat to ESPNCricinfo.
David Warner, Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins among others have been part of the England tour as well as the IPL season which is happening in UAE. “We’re going to have to be really careful with how we manage our players this summer. While some people won’t agree with it at times, our people, our players and staff are high priority for us to make sure they are healthy and happy.” Justin Langer added.
Smith and Jofra Archer have already expressed their discomfort about playing the other series post IPL. Smith has in fact opted out of BBL 2020 as he wants to spend some time with the family and live life outside the restricted of these bio-secure bubbles that has been imposed post COVID-19.

IPL 2020 Qualifier 1: MI vs DC Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | MI vs DC Dream11 Prediction Today | Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals Key Players | Dubai Pitch Report
After 56 matches, filled with speculation, debates and predictions as to who will make the IPL 2020 playoffs, the final four has been decided.
IPL 2020, one of the most competitive in recent times (although games were one-sided in the past week), has provided a release from everything going on around us. Viewership is up 28% compared to IPL 2019, and the anticipation has gone up a notch as we get closer to finding out who the champions will be.
Mumbai Indians remain favourites to take out the Title. There is an argument that they have played better cricket in 2020 than in their Title-winning 2019 season, as just about all their wins were achieved by a big margin. At the same time, their defeats, except for their last game against SRH, were closely fought. So, as key players return after a rest from an inconsequential game, can they hit their straps right away and lock in a spot in the IPL 2020 Final?
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, endured a very rocky period towards the end of the league stage. Four defeats in a row, including an embarrassing defeat against MI, increased concerns that they may actually even miss the playoffs. However, a strong performance against RCB brought smiles back on the faces of all involved, and can act as a confidence-booster ahead of this big clash. So, can Shreyas Iyer’s men take a huge step towards achieving Delhi’s first ever IPL Title?
IPL 2020 Qualifier 1: MI vs DC Preview Dream11: Can Rohit deliver in this match?
Key Players to Watch/Key Stats
Quinton de Kock has a big role to play in this one. The classy opener has struck 395 runs in his last 10 knocks at an average of 49.38. This includes scores of 53 (36) and 26 (28) vs DC.
But, the big question is can QdK build on his run of starts? MI will want him to build on scores of 18, 26 and 25 in his last three games.
Rohit Sharma returned from injury last game, much to the confusion of many. The MI skipper has the most runs in MI-DC games, with 565 at an average of 33.24 and SR 130.79.
Shikhar Dhawan returned to form with a half-century last match vs RCB. It is no coincidence that DC lost four games in a row where Dhawan was out cheaply. He will be crucial today, and possesses a really strong record vs MI: 22 inns, 733 runs, avg. 43.12, SR 129.05.
Ajinkya Rahane made his first significant contribution of the season with 60 (46) last game. So, DC will be hoping for more of the same. It could happen, as Rahane has a solid career record vs MI: 18 inns, 591 runs, avg. 36.94, SR 124.68.
Ishan Kishan has been superb for MI, but most of his great contributions have come as opener. Can he deliver in the middle order? He is coming off 33 (30) vs SRH, but MI will want greater fluency from a player who smashed 72* off 47 balls vs DC a few days ago.
Watch out for Suryakumar Yadav. The elegant right-hander has had a superb season (13 inns, 410 runs, avg. 41.00, SR 150.18), which includes scores of 53 (32) and 12* (11) vs DC this season.
Will Rishabh Pant burst into life? The left-hander has been quiet in IPL 2020, with a strike rate of just 112.35. His excellent record vs MI, though, is cause for optimism: 8 inns, 240 runs, avg. 34.29, SR 155.84.
The Hardik Pandya-Kieron Pollard duo will be key for MI. Hardik has been rested in recent games, and needs to overcome a sub-par record vs DC (121 runs, avg. 15). Pollard is coming off 41 (25) vs SRH, and can be counted on to produce when needed: 259 runs in IPL 2020, three dismissals, SR 193.28.
Krunal Pandya has an excellent batting record vs DC: 8 inns, 235 runs, avg. 39.17, SR 179.39. Plus, he has eight wickets to his name against them.
Kagiso Rabada (25 wickets) is back as the Purple Cap holder after Jasprit Bumrah (23 wickets) was rested vs SRH. The battle between these two will be key. Bumrah completely dominated DC a few days ago on this ground, with 3/17.
Trent Boult is also set to return after being rested. The left-arm seamer also destroyed DC a few days ago with 3/21.
Anrich Nortje has played a key role for DC this season, and he will be key once again. The fast bowler has taken 19 wickets in 13 matches in 2020, and is coming off a player-of-the-match performance vs RCB (3/33).
Stats and Facts
Head-to-head: Matches 26, MI 14, DC 12.
Mumbai Indians won both meetings vs Delhi Capitals in the league stage. In the first meeting, MI chased down DC’s 162 at Abu Dhabi. In the second, MI strolled to the target after restricting DC to 110/9.
Bumrah to be used against the DC middle order? Dhawan, Rahane and Iyer have a combined total of 159 runs at a strike rate of 134.75 against Bumrah with no dismissals. In contrast, Pant, Stoinis and Patel average less than 12 against Bumrah in T20s (SR below 110).
R Ashwin has dismissed Quinton de Kock three times in five innings.
Prithvi Shaw has scored just 49 runs in his last seven innings.
Shreyas Iyer to perform if DC bat first? His record when batting first is 320 runs in nine innings at an average of 40 and a strike rate of 133. When batting second, the performances are not at the same level: 5 inns, 101 runs, avg. 20, SR 98.
The team batting first has won 15 of 24 matches at Dubai. However, chasing teams have had more joy in recent times, winning six of the last nine games. In these nine games, the average winning score batting first is 178.66. In the other six games where the chasing team won, the average first innings score is 153.5.
So, with dew around, the team batting first might need a score around the 175-180 mark to feel safe.

Option 2:

The team batting first needs to put a strong score on the board. Mumbai Indians’ greater batting depth could count for plenty in this game, as DC have been reliant on Shikhar Dhawan in recent times.
