The wait is over. He has arrived. One of the greatest batsmen across formats in recent memory is on our shores, ready to propel the Brisbane Heat towards a tilt at the BBL09 Title.

That man is AB de Villiers. Three words that can put bums on seats and send chills down the spine of any bowler. However, rain might play spoilsport, with showers and a potential thunderstorm forecast.

If there is a result, Adelaide Strikers will be no pushovers. The Strikers don’t look as strong on paper this season compared to seasons gone by, but they often found a way to win. Indeed, the return of skipper Travis Head was a big boost, with regular performers such as Jono Wells, Peter Siddle and Rashid Khan leading the way.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • AB de Villiers remains a big name in world cricket, despite his retirement from international cricket. He is coming off 325 runs at 46.42 and a strike-rate of 152.58 in the 2019 Mzansi Super League.
  • In 12 ODIs in Australia, de Villiers scored 678 runs at an average of 75.33.
  • His partnership with Chris Lynn could be something to behold. Lynn, when the Heat bat first, has been unstoppable: 94 (35), 88* (55) and 31 (13).
  • However, it is a different story when batting second: 9, 6, 14, 9, 14. Also, Lynn needs to improve on his average of 18 in nine games vs Strikers.
  • Also, Mujeeb ur Rahman is back for the Heat. He took at least one wicket in eight of his past 10 T20s in the Bangladesh Premier League.
  • It was a fine start to BBL09 for Travis Head. He would want to build on his 22, but his two wickets makes him very handy. Also, Head has a good record vs Heat: 143 runs at 47.67.
  • Jono Wells has been one of the most consistent performers in BBL09. He has 292 runs in eight innings; dismissed just four times. Jake Weatherald is one run ahead with 293 runs (7th in BBL09).
  • Matt Renshaw was man-of-the-match the last time Heat played Strikers. He scored a brilliant 90* off 50 balls to seal a chase.
  • Man-of-the-match in Heat vs Strikers in Brisbane last season? Rashid Khan.
  • Rashid has 87 runs at SR 189.13 in BBL09, along with 14 wickets in eight games. Also, he has six wickets in three games vs Heat.
  • Ben Laughlin went the journey last game (60 off four overs), but has at least one wicket in each game in BBL09.
  • Peter Siddle remains one of the Strikers’ key bowlers. He is coming off three wickets vs Renegades, part of 10 wickets this season.
  • Josh Lalor vs Strikers: Six wickets in three games. However, he could miss out if the Heat choose Mitch Swepson.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches: 9, Heat 4, Strikers 5.
  • This is the first meeting between the teams in BBL09.

Key to a Brisbane Heat win

Brisbane Heat have been incredible when setting a score. In three games, they have scored 200+ twice, with the other occasion seeing them score 119 in eight overs. With such big hitting at the helm, including superstar AB de Villiers, the Heat need to transfer this to a chase, if needed.

When batting second, the Heat have won just one of five games. So, if they are asked to bowl first, it is on the bowlers too to limit the Strikers’ top order, of which so much rests on. Can Mujeeb ur Rahman hit the ground running right away in BBL09?

Key to an Adelaide Strikers win

It was the near perfect display for the Strikers on Sunday. Granted, they were playing a terribly out-of-form Renegades side, but their strong middle and death overs effort after a slightly shaky start is cause for optimism. Can the out-of-form Phil Salt add an even greater dimension?

But, so much could depend on how well their bowlers can restrict the Heat’s big hitters. With the likes of Peter Siddle and Rashid Khan now in double figures for wickets in BBL09, it is on these two experienced players to lead the way in picking up regular wickets. The likes of Travis Head, Michael Neser and Harry Conway need to provide quality support.

Gabba Pitch Report and Conditions

The conditions could ruin this match. Quite a bit of rain is forecast for Brisbane, particularly in the afternoon and evening.

In terms of the pitch, the Gabba track was uncharacteristically slow for last week’s Heat vs Hurricanes game. Usually, the track allows for more free-flowing strokeplay.

Possible Playing 11

AB de Villiers and Mujeeb ur Rahman have arrived for the Heat. They will slot in for the departing Tom Banton and Zahir Khan respectively. Also, Cutting could open after a strong finish in that position last season.

Brisbane Heat: 1. Max Bryant, 2. Ben Cutting, 3. Chris Lynn (c), 4. AB de Villiers, 5. Matt Renshaw, 6. Joe Burns, 7. Jimmy Peirson (wk), 8. Josh Lalor/Mitch Swepson, 9. James Pattinson, 10. Ben Laughlin, 11. Mujeeb ur Rahman

Adelaide Strikers smashed Melbourne Renegades on Sunday. They have stuck with the same squad of 13, and will likely stick with the same XI.

Adelaide Strikers: 1. Jake Weatherald, 2. Phil Salt, 3. Travis Head (c), 4. Jono Wells, 5. Harry Nielsen (wk), 6. Matt Short, 7. Rashid Khan, 8. Michael Neser, 9. Peter Siddle, 10. Wes Agar, 11. Harry Conway

It is very likely that this will be a shortened game. So, it could come down to power-hitting if there is a result, which the Heat showed in Sydney last week.

Two sides each with their own headaches.

Now, you might ask why Perth Scorchers might have a headache. After all, they have won two straight games; coming off a Mitch Marsh-inspired win over Brisbane Heat.

However, the Scorchers, without consecutive games home or away, have done a significant amount of travelling in a short amount of time. It is estimated they will spend 60 hours in the air across this campaign, so it remains to be seen how they recover so soon from a match + flights to Hobart.

Hobart Hurricanes, on the other hand, have performance-based headaches. They have lost two straight games, and are really feeling the loss of D’Arcy Short, James Faulkner and Riley Meredith. Only the winless Renegades sit below them on the table, but they sit just two points outside the top five.

An important game.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • D’Arcy Short was the star in the previous meeting between the teams. However, he is unavailable for this clash. So, Matthew Wade will be required to lead the way.
  • Wade has 134 runs in four matches vs Scorchers. Also, he has made a solid start to his BBL09 campaign: 61 and 16.
  • Ben McDermott has 124 runs vs Scorchers at 31.00. However, is he batting too low to make too much of an impact?
  • George Bailey, coming off 43 vs Sydney Thunder, is the leading run-scorer in Hurricanes-Scorchers matches (212 runs, avg. 31.00).
  • Eyes will be on Mitch Marsh after his superb 93* off 41 balls last game vs Heat. Also, Marsh is fifth in the BBL09 runs chart (307) and scored 48 (36) vs Hurricanes earlier this season.
  • Josh Inglis and Liam Livingstone made a rapid start last game vs Heat (39 off 3.3 overs). They have often looked dangerous as a combination in BBL09.
  • Cameron Bancroft’s last four scores in BBL09: 50, 0, 24*, 41*. However, he needs to improve on his average of 16 in seven innings vs Hurricanes.
  • Scott Boland will be tasked with leading an inexperienced Hurricanes attack again. His figures this season: 2/29, 3/16, 1/33.
  • Jhye Richardson has hit some form. He has nine wickets in his past six matches, including five in his past two.
  • Chris Jordan bounced back with two wickets last game (albeit expensive) to sit at 10 wickets in eight games in BBL09.
  • Fawad Ahmed has taken at least one wicket in all but two games in BBL09. His counterpart, Qais Ahmad, has taken four wickets in his last four games (one per match). Can he have a bigger impact?

Head to Head

  • Matches 12, Hurricanes 6, Scorchers 6.
  • Hurricanes won the first two meetings. Then Scorchers won six straight. Now, Hurricanes have won the past four straight.

Possible Playing 11

Hobart Hurricanes have named an unchanged 13-man squad for this clash.

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. Matthew Wade (c), 2. Caleb Jewell, 3. Simon Milenko, 4. George Bailey, 5. Ben McDermott (wk), 6. David Miller, 7. Clive Rose, 8. Tom Rogers, 9. Nathan Ellis, 10. Qais Ahmad, 11. Scott Boland

Perth Scorchers have also named an unchanged 13-man squad for this clash. They have every reason to stick with the same XI.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Josh Inglis (wk), 2. Liam Livingstone, 3. Sam Whiteman, 4. Cameron Bancroft, 5. Mitchell Marsh (c), 6. Cameron Green, 7. Tim David, 8. Chris Jordan, 9. Jhye Richardson, 10. Joel Paris, 11. Fawad Ahmed

Blundstone Arena Pitch Report and Conditions

Brisbane Heat smashed 200+ in the last game at this ground. The pitch is typically a good one for the batsmen, with usually a short boundary on one side.

However, both sides are filled with batsmen who make starts then get out. So, the onus is on the batsmen to take advantage of starts.

A sunny and warm 29 degrees is forecast for Hobart on Monday. No rain is expected.

READ! >> New Sixers vs Stars Preview Dream11 Prediction – January 20, 2020

The Sunday Menu looks good in Melbourne.

Haris Rauf with a sprinkling of Tom Curran. Moises Henriques is back, mixed in with a top order that includes the exciting Josh Philippe. You’ll also be treated to the top two run-scorers in BBL09: Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell, with the latter reminding Australian selectors just what they could be missing out in India.

The stage is set for a top-of-the-table clash not to be missed.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Marcus Stoinis (331) and Glenn Maxwell (311) are the top two run-scorers in BBL09. Maxwell in particular has been terrific in the past three games, scoring 40* (32), 59* (37) and 83* (45).
  • Maxwell also has a fine record vs Sixers: 394 runs at an avg. of 49.25 and SR 166.95. Plus, he scored 82 (43) in the corresponding match last season.
  • Sydney Sixers scored 130/9 and 74 all-out vs Melbourne Stars last season. So, plenty rests on the Sixers’ top order to perform.
  • Moises Henriques averages just 13 with the bat in 10 games vs Stars. Can he deliver today?
  • Daniel Hughes’ last five scores: 35, 37, 40, 24 and 17. Can he build on a start today? Also, Josh Philippe will be key, currently sitting ninth in the BBL09 top runs list with 264.
  • Will Jordan Silk be a factor in today’s game? He averages nearly 40 in five innings vs Melbourne Stars.
  • We can look forward to watching Haris Rauf once again. The Pakistani revelation has an incredible 14 wickets in five games in BBL09.
  • Can Tom Curran have more of an impact? The Sixers’ all-rounder is coming off 4/22 vs Strikers, after 1/58 and 0/40 in his previous two games. His potential impact can never be discounted.
  • Ben Dwarshuis vs Stars: 10 wickets in six matches.
  • Sandeep Lamichhane has five wickets in his past three matches.
  • Lloyd Pope’s last five matches: 1/15, 3/23, 2/22, 2/41, 2/33.
  • Nathan Coulter-Nile is rested. Jackson Coleman, who has four wickets in two innings vs Sixers, comes in.
  • Jackson Bird in BBL09: Seven wickets in five matches. He returns to a ground (MCG) where he has played plenty of cricket.

The best solution for a heartbreak might be to play the team that has almost lost all hope.

Adelaide Strikers, after finishing on the wrong end of Josh Hazlewood’s three straight fours, are looking for the perfect bounce back in the second-straight afternoon game in Adelaide. They did everything they could last game; including a Rashid Khan hat-trick, but fell just short.

They have a good chance to bounce back with victory over the winless Melbourne Renegades. With the BBL now rewarding a fifth team with a playoffs appearance, six wins out of 14 may be enough to get you there. However, it is a massive challenge to see where the Renegades will pick up one win; let alone six out of their last six games.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Travis Head is available for this match. The Strikers’ skipper is the leading run-scorer in Strikers-Renegades matches with 221 at an average of 55.25.
  • Head also has four wickets in four matches vs Renegades.
  • Another big inclusion is Mohammad Nabi for the Renegades. Nabi hit 48 off 30 balls and took 1/21 on this ground last season.
  • Phil Salt hasn’t had the best of times in BBL09. However, his most significant innings (54 off 26 balls) came against the Renegades.
  • Rashid Khan is having a fine tournament. He is coming off a hat-trick vs Sydney Sixers, which took him to 12 wickets in seven BBL09 games.
  • Also, Rashid was man-of-the-match vs Renegades earlier this season, scoring 25 off 16 balls then taking 2/15. He will be a handful against a side prone to collapse in the middle and late overs.
  • Jake Weatherald and Jono Wells have been excellent in BBL09. Weatherald has 266 runs in seven games. Wells has 234 runs in seven games, dismissed only thrice (avg. 78.00).
  • Marcus Harris played his most significant innings of BBL09 last game (42 off 32 balls). Also, he averages 40 vs Renegades in four innings.
  • Shaun Marsh (298 runs) is in the running for the BBL09 golden cap. Also, Beau Webster has been a shining light for the Renegades in a tough season (261 runs at 65.25).
  • With no Alex Carey available, Harry Nielsen will take the gloves. He has batted in the top order in T20, with a terrific recent effort for Prime Minister’s XI vs Sri Lanka (79 off 50).
  • Michael Neser is coming off two wickets vs Sixers. Also, he has eight wickets vs Renegades.
  • Cameron Boyce has five wickets in three innings vs Strikers.
  • Peter Siddle: one of the Strikers’ key bowlers in BBL09 (seven wickets in six).
  • Dan Christian won man-of-the-match in Adelaide last season. However, Christian has not looked the same player in BBL09.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 11, Strikers 7, Renegades 4.
  • Adelaide Strikers won the earlier meeting vs Renegades in BBL09. Phil Salt and Rashid Khan were the star players.

Possible Playing 11

There have been changes to the Adelaide Strikers’ 13-man squad. Harry Nielsen will replace ODI player Alex Carey. Also, skipper Travis Head is back, and will likely replace the out-of-form Matt Short.

Adelaide Strikers: 1. Phil Salt, 2. Jake Weatherald, 3. Travis Head (c), 4. Harry Nielsen (wk), 5. Jono Wells, 6. Rashid Khan, 7. Michael Neser, 8. Cameron Valente, 9. Peter Siddle, 10. Harry Conway, 11. Billy Stanlake

Melbourne Renegades welcome Mohammad Nabi for his first match of BBL09. He will replace the departing Richard Gleeson. Also, Jack Wildermuth is a chance of replacing the out-of-form Will Sutherland.

Melbourne Renegades: 1. Shaun Marsh, 2. Marcus Harris, 3. Sam Harper (wk), 4. Beau Webster, 5. Tom Cooper, 6. Dan Christian, 7. Mohammad Nabi, 8. Samit Patel, 9. Jack Wildermuth, 10. Cameron Boyce, 11. Joe Mennie

Pitch and Conditions

Hot and sunny conditions are forecast for Sunday afternoon in Adelaide.

So, much has been made of how Perth Scorchers aren’t as dominant as they used to be. However, they have the chance today to get into the top five with a solid performance at home, backing up from a fine display in Geelong a few nights ago.

They come up against a Brisbane Heat side that has won its past three games. However, the shakiness of the Heat when chasing was on show last game against an injury-affected Hurricanes attack, with Ben Cutting and James Peirson leading them home from a precarious position.

Interestingly, the Scorchers smashed the Heat earlier this season after batting first. Will the same trend continue?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Chris Lynn has a fantastic record vs Scorchers: 470 runs, avg. 58.75, SR: 140.72.
  • However, the difference of Lynn when batting first vs second in BBL09 has been huge. When batting first: 94 (35), 88* (55), 31 (13). When batting second: 9, 6, 14, 9.
  • This is Tom Banton’s final game in BBL09. He has it in him to go big, as he’s shown in his T20 career to date. He has hit a boundary every 3.8 balls in BBL09.
  • Cameron Bancroft scored a 50 in his last meeting vs Heat. Also, Mitchell Marsh is second behind Lynn in the most runs in Scorchers-Heat matches (212 runs at 42.40).
  • Liam Livingstone is coming off a man-of-the-match performance against Renegades. His battle vs James Pattinson, who is set to play this match, will be one to keep an eye out for.
  • Josh Inglis has shown some promise in BBL09 with two fifties in seven innings. Interestingly, both have come when chasing.
  • Ben Cutting is coming off a fine all-round performance vs Hurricanes (1/12, 1 catch and 43*). He has 132 runs and 10 wickets in 11 games vs Scorchers.
  • Fawad Ahmed was man-of-the-match vs Heat earlier this season, taking 3/16. Also, Fawad has taken at least one wicket in each game in Perth this season (four wickets in three matches).
  • Jhye Richardson has hit some form with seven wickets in his last five games. If Perth bowl second, Richardson could be mighty effective against a Heat side that has struggled when chasing.
  • Ben Laughlin has taken nine wickets in seven games in BBL09. He has taken at least one wicket in every game, and fields in the key positions.
  • Chris Jordan has been under-par in his past two games, going wicketless in both. But, his wicket-taking threat remains: he took seven in his first four matches in BBL09.
  • Zahir Khan vs Scorchers this season: 2/18.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 12, Scorchers 6, Heat 6.
  • Last meeting: Scorchers bowled Heat out for 109 after scoring 149/6 in Carrara, Gold Coast.

Possible Playing 11

Ashton Agar is on ODI duty in India. Liam Guthrie has replaced him in the 13-man squad.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Josh Inglis (wk), 2. Liam Livingstone, 3. Cameron Bancroft, 4. Mitchell Marsh, 5. Tim David, 6. Cameron Green, 7. Chris Jordan, 8. Jhye Richardson, 9. Liam Guthrie/Joel Paris, 10. Matt Kelly, 11. Fawad Ahmed

Australian Test bowler James Pattinson comes into the 13-man squad for Brisbane Heat. He is set to play. This means Josh Lalor could miss out if the Heat decide to play two spinners.

Brisbane Heat: 1. Tom Banton, 2. Max Bryant, 3. Chris Lynn (c), 4. Matt Renshaw, 5. Joe Burns, 6. Ben Cutting, 7. Jimmy Peirson (wk), 8. James Pattinson, 9. Mitch Swepson, 10. Ben Laughlin, 11. Zahir Khan

Pitch and Conditions

There have been some high-scoring games in Perth this season: 196 vs 185, 174 vs 126 and 180 vs 172. The pacier surface allows batsmen to play freely.

Also, the weather is forecast to be hot in Perth: mid-30s and sunny.

One of the rare occasions at this stage of the season: two teams who are yet to play each other in BBL09.

Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes, two sides experiencing a bit of a slide, need to get back on track. The Thunder, at home, sit precariously in fifth. The Hurricanes, after a valiant effort in Brisbane with key players out, sit second-from-bottom.

So, who will win this important clash?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Matthew Wade made a terrific start to his BBL09 campaign, scoring 61 (46) vs Heat.
  • Also, Wade was terrific vs Thunder last season: 85 (49) and 45 (29).
  • Callum Ferguson is right up there among the top BBL09 run-scorers. At time of writing, he was second with 288 runs at avg. of 48.00.
  • Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales make up the vital Thunder top three. However, Khawaja and Hales have not reached any great heights over the past few matches. Time is now vs a depleted Hurricanes attack.
  • George Bailey has had a poor tournament to date. However, he is one to watch for this one: 243 runs vs Thunder at 121.50.
  • Ben McDermott needs to bat higher for the Hurricanes. He has 150 runs vs Thunder at an average of 50.
  • Matthew Gilkes is coming off a 50+ score vs Stars.
  • Daniel Sams continues to take wickets in every BBL09 game. He is top of the chart with 15 wickets to his name.
  • Chris Morris is wicketless in his past two games. However, he can’t be discounted as a key player: He took eight wickets in his first four games.
  • How good was Scott Boland two nights ago against the Heat? He turned the game with his magnificent spell of 3/16.
  • Boland’s last two games vs Thunder (during his time with Melbourne Stars): 1/29 and 2/28.
  • Qais Ahmad will be a key man on the traditionally slow Sydney Showground pitch. He took 2/22 vs Thunder last season on a similar pitch in Canberra.
  • Can Nathan Ellis break the game open for Hurricanes? His mix of slower and quicker balls was impressive vs Heat. He could enjoy the potentially-slowish pitch for this game.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 10, Thunder 3, Hurricanes 7.
  • Thunder have won three of the past five meetings.

Key to a Sydney Thunder win

30s and 40s were on the menu for Alex Hales, Usman Khawaja and Callum Ferguson in Melbourne a couple of nights ago. Against a Hurricanes attack missing key personnel, it is on the top three to provide a strong start that can catapult the Thunder to a strong score, given the lack of power the Thunder have compared to other teams.

Also, Daniel Sams has been terrific with the ball in BBL09. He will be out to lead the way again, with Chris Morris and the spinners to also chip in with effective overs. Can they get the better of Wade early and put further pressure on the Hurricanes?

Key to a Hobart Hurricanes win

The Hurricanes can’t rely only on Matt Wade. He scored 66 out of the Hurricanes’ 126 two nights ago in Brisbane, which is something to avoid in Sydney. Of course, Wade will be key again, but onus is on the likes of the experienced Ben McDermott, David Miller and George Bailey to also contribute.

Also, it was a fantastic effort by the depleted Hurricanes attack in Brisbane. Missing James Faulkner and star-man Riley Meredith, it was easy to assume that the Heat batsmen would fire. However, the Hurricanes never gave in, and more of the same is needed on Saturday evening.

Possible Playing 11

Sydney Thunder have named their 13-man squad. There are two changes to the squad, but they could stick with the same XI that lost to the Stars a few nights ago.

Sydney Thunder: 1. Usman Khawaja, 2. Alex Hales, 3. Callum Ferguson, 4. Matthew Gilkes (wk), 5. Alex Ross, 6. Daniel Sams, 7. Chris Morris, 8. Nathan McAndrew, 9. Arjun Nair, 10. Jono Cook, 11. Chris Tremain

Hobart Hurricanes have also made two squad changes. David Moody and Mac Wright are out, with Jake Doran and local replacement player Jake Reed named.

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. Matthew Wade (c), 2. Caleb Jewell, 3. Ben McDermott (wk), 4. George Bailey, 5. David Miller, 6. Simon Milenko, 7. Tom Rogers, 8. Clive Rose, 9. Nathan Ellis, 10. Qais Ahmad, 11. Scott Boland

Pitch and Conditions

There is some rain forecast on Saturday morning in Sydney. However, by the weather should be clear by the evening.

The track for Thunder’s eight-over game vs Heat on Monday was good for batting. The rain and greasy outfield may caused the pitch to quicken up a little. It will be interesting to see how a traditionally-slow track plays in this one.

Tough game to predict. The Hurricanes showed plenty of fight against Heat two nights ago. However, it could be a tough outing again without their key players, which makes the Thunder favourites at home.

IND vs SL 3rd T20I Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | IND vs SL 3rd T20 Dream11 | India vs Sri Lanka 3rd T20I Dream11 Prediction | IND vs SL 3rd T20 Key Players | IND vs SL 3rd T20I Dream11 Prediction

The only aspect of comprehensiveness that India missed in Indore was the fact they lost four wickets in their chase. Otherwise, it was as comprehensive as it gets, brushing Sri Lanka aside with a mix of express pace and wily spin.

So, the tourists must respond in the series’ final match. Sri Lanka have been smashed in each of their past four T20Is, so this will be a test of their mettle. Can they put in a big performance to leave India with some confidence?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Virat Kohli has the most runs in India-Sri Lanka T20Is. He’s only played in seven such matches, amassing 313 runs at an average of 104.33.
  • KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan are coming off time at the crease last game. They sit fourth and fifth with 241 and 237 runs respectively in India-Sri Lanka T20Is.
  • Shreyas Iyer’s last four T20Is: 70, 53, 7, 34.
  • Starts for Sri Lanka’s top three last game. Danushka Gunathilaka (20), Avishka Fernando (22) and Kusal Perera (34) are key players and have to build on starts.
  • Kusal Perera is only Sri Lankan other than Kumar Sangakarra to score 200+ runs vs India in T20Is.
  • Angelo Mathews could be a key in for SL. His last four scores in white-ball internationals: 113, 48, 52* and 87. Also, Mathews averages 78.00 with the bat in T20Is in India.
  • How good was Navdeep Saini in Indore? 45% of his deliveries were 145km/h+. His 2/18 won him man-of-the match.
  • Jasprit Bumrah bowled sharply on his return. Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav (10 wickets in six games vs SL) were also in the wickets.
  • However, there is a chance Yuzvendra Chahal will get a game. He is the highest wicket-taker in India-SL matches (14).
  • There is no Isuru Udana available for SL. So, Lasith Malinga has to lead the attack well. His record vs India is poor: Four wickets in nine T20Is at an average of 62.50.
  • It was a good showing from Wananidu Hasaranga last game (two wickets). His mix of googlies and standard deliveries made him a constant threat.

Key to an India win

India’s bowlers never let Sri Lanka get away in the second T20I. Jasprit Bumrah was sharp but mostly steady early, and the main positives were Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini stepping up in the absence of regulars. With effective spin to boot, India can look for a repeat in the final match.

Also, will India persist with Virat Kohli at four? One can argue that number four is too low a position for a team’s best player in T20s, so it remains to be seen how the top three fare. One battle within the battle will be KL Rahul vs Shikhar Dhawan once again for Rohit’s permanent T20 partner.

IND vs SL 3rd T20I Preview Dream11 – Navdeep Saini was superb.

Key to a Sri Lanka win

India have lost a match in each of their last three T20I series. In each of these defeats, the opposition was able to limit the Indian batsmen, taking advantage of India’s preference to chase. So, Sri Lanka need to take heart from this, with the likes of Lasith Malinga to lead the way with wickets up front that they can then look to build on.

Also, can Sri Lanka better handle India’s mix of 140km/h+ pace and wily spin? The top four all made starts last time out, but the lack of conversion hurt their hopes for a bigger total. As always, better strike rotation is key to make full use of their boundaries.

IND vs SL 3rd T20I Preview Dream11: Lasith Malinga needs a big game.

Possible Playing 11

Yuzvendra Chahal is considered a chance of playing over Kuldeep Yadav. Also, it will be interesting to see if Virat continues at number four in a World T20 year.

India: 1. Shikhar Dhawan, 2. KL Rahul, 3. Virat Kohli (c), 4. Shreyas Iyer, 5. Rishabh Pant (wk), 6. Shivam Dube, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Washington Sundar, 9. Kuldeep Yadav/Yuzvendra Chahal, 10. Shardul Thakur, 11. Jasprit Bumrah

Isuru Udana is out for Sri Lanka. Angelo Mathews is likely to replace him.

Sri Lanka: 1. Danushka Gunathilaka, 2. Avishka Fernando, 3. Kusal Perera (wk), 4. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, 5. Oshada Fernando, 6. Angelo Mathews, 7. Dasun Shanaka, 8. Dhananjaya de Silva, 9. Wanindu Hasaranga, 10. Lasith Malinga (c), 11. Lahiru Kumara

Pitch and Conditions

Cool conditions and clear skies is the forecast for Pune. So, that could mean dew in the second innings.

The pitch is expected to suit batsmen mostly, but bowlers who land the ball in the right areas can have some joy.

BBL09 Match 30: MR vs MS Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | MR vs MS Dream11 | BBL09 Match Prediction Today | Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars Prediction Today| Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars Key Players | MR vs MS Dream11 Prediction

One Melbourne side is top. The other is bottom, without a win in seven.

Worse, the Melbourne Renegades are defending champions. Even more worse is that they rarely looked like winning throughout the tournament, with batting collapses and key fielding blunders plaguing what has been a forgettable season to date.

And it doesn’t get any easier. They are without Aaron Finch and Kane Richardson, who are now on ODI duty for Australia, against BBL09 form team Melbourne Stars. Unlike last season, the Stars will keep Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, who were both overlooked for Australia’s tour of India.

This the second Melbourne Derby in less than a week. Will it be another one-sided game?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Marcus Stoinis loves the Renegades. He scored 68* against them last week, part of 322 runs overall vs Renegades at an average of 83.00.
  • Also, Stoinis is the BBL09 top run-scorer. He has three straight 50+ scores.
  • There is no Aaron Finch for the Renegades. So, Shaun Marsh (235 runs in BBL09) and the impressive Beau Webster (236 runs) will be key players.
  • Glenn Maxwell’s last two scores: 40* (32) vs Renegades and a clinical, brilliant 59* (37) vs Thunder.
  • Sam Harper’s last three scores in BBL09: 45 (24), 12 (8), 73 (46). Can he step up against the strong Stars attack?
  • Ben Dunk could open the batting as Nic Maddinson is out with a shoulder injury. He has 151 runs vs Renegades in six games. Can he build on starts against them?
  • Everyone is looking forward to watching Haris Rauf. The hat-trick hero vs Thunder has an incredible 13 wickets in four games in BBL09.
  • There will be no Adam Zampa due to ODI duty, but Sandeep Lamichhane will be one to watch. He took 3/26 vs Renegades last week.
  • Nathan Coulter-Nile: Key bowler, fielder and possible pinch-hitter for the Stars. His 1/16 and catch last game vs Thunder was a good outing.
  • Dan Christian will lead the Renegades in the absence of Finch. It’s now or never for Christian, who must deliver with bat and ball to give his team a chance.
  • Richard Gleeson is coming off three wickets last game in what has been an otherwise disappointing campaign. He needs to follow up well.
  • Cameron Boyce’s last four games at Docklands: 2/33, 2/30, 2/18, 2/31.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 17, Renegades 5, Stars 12.
  • Melbourne Stars won the previous meeting easily six days ago; by eight wickets.

Key to a Melbourne Renegades win

Their leading wicket-taker (Kane Richardson) and captain (Aaron Finch) are both missing. So where will the Renegades find their inspiration?

On the batting front, Sam Harper, Shaun Marsh, Beau Webster and Dan Christian are the key men to watch with Marcus Harris and Tom Cooper are out of form. Can they get the better of the Stars attack, and avoid an awful collapse; the kind we saw a week ago?

On the bowling front, Cameron Boyce, Samit Patel and Richard Gleeson have a responsibility to lead a Richardson-less attack. Also, skipper Christian will be needed to chip in with effective overs. Can the Renegades expose a Stars middle order that has been a little short on time this season?

Key to a Melbourne Stars win

The Stars’ bowling template has been set for BBL09. Glenn Maxwell can deliver cheap overs in the powerplay, with the seamers looking to strike from the other end. Then, the wrist-spinners and Haris Rauf look to do their magic in the middle overs, before Rauf finishes off with a bang. Adam Zampa will be missing from this one, but the Stars attack still looks in good shape.

So does their top order, with Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell in particular in good form. Ben Dunk and Nick Larkin also have an opportunity to impress, as there is a chance to pounce on an opponent so low on confidence.

BBL09 Match 30: MR vs MS Preview Dream11: Marcus Stoinis is the top run-scorer in BBL09.

Possible Playing 11

Four changes have been made to the Melbourne Renegades’ 13-man squad. Aaron Finch and Kane Richardson are on ODI duty. Tom Andrews and Andrew Fekete are also out of the squad. In come Tom Cooper, Joe Mennie, Luke Robbins and Jack Wildermuth.

Melbourne Renegades: 1. Sam Harper (wk), 2. Marcus Harris, 3. Shaun Marsh, 4. Beau Webster, 5. Tom Cooper, 6. Daniel Christian (c), 7. Samit Patel, 8. Jack Wildermuth, 9. Cameron Boyce, 10. Joe Mennie, 11. Richard Gleeson

Nic Maddinson is out with a shoulder injury. Adam Zampa and Peter Handscomb are on ODI duty for Australia. So, a total of three changes will be made to the Stars XI.

Melbourne Stars: 1. Ben Dunk, 2. Marcus Stoinis, 3. Nick Larkin, 4. Glenn Maxwell (c), 5. Hilton Cartwright, 6. Seb Gotch (wk), 7. Nathan Coulter-Nile, 8. Clint Hinchliffe, 9. Daniel Worrall, 10. Haris Rauf, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

Marvel Stadium Pitch Report and Conditions

There is a high chance of rain in the afternoon and evening in Melbourne. However, Marvel Stadium has a roof, so it will come handy.

The average first innings score in BBL09 at Marvel Stadium is 154 in two games. The pitch is often on the slow side, and the outfield has been very slow this season. 160+ could be a tough score to chase.

Melbourne Renegades have been in awful form. But, does form go out the window in a Derby?

Given the significant lack of confidence in the Renegades team, plus the loss of Finch and Richardson, it might be too difficult to overcome the likes of Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Haris Rauf and the rest of the Stars’ attack.

Stars to win.

7 Players Who Can Win the Orange Cap in IPL 2020

7 Players Who Can Win the Orange Cap in IPL 2020 | Who will win the Orange Cap in IPL 2020? | IPL 2020 best batsmen

2020 is up and running. So, one thing that means is that the next edition of IPL is around the corner.

IPL is the best T20 franchise league in the world. Along with its incredible action and passion, it pioneered unique awards for players, such as Best Catch of the Tournament, Fair Play Award, Super Striker and others.

One such award is the “Orange Cap”, given to the highest run-scorer of the tournament.

Ahead of IPL 2020, there are a number of talented players that will be at the forefront of the run-scoring discussion. Here, we’ll look at some players who are the top contenders for the Orange Cap in the 13th edition of IPL.

7. Shubman Gill

A player on track for Indian stardom. Shubman Gill is some talent, and is expected to get an extended run at the top of the order for KKR this season.

He has an excellent record as an opener in IPL cricket, with 236 runs in six innings to date, averaging 47.20. Also, his strike rate of 140.48 is extremely impressive along with his classy strokeplay, and is certainly one to watch in the upcoming season.

6. Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler has been even more destructive since he has started opening the innings for Rajasthan Royals in 2018. His average was 54 that season, which was boosted significantly by his move to opener.

In the last season, he scored 311 runs from eight matches before going off for national duties.

He’s expected to play the full season in IPL 2020. If he shows the form he has over the past two seasons, Buttler is certainly a chance of winning the Orange Cap.

5. Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow is an absolute gun player in white-ball cricket. His record is phenomenal and is a boundary hitting machine at the top.

He made his IPL debut last season and scored 445 runs in 10 matches at an average of 54.62, including a century against RCB.

With Bairstow expected to be available for the whole season, he has to be in the Orange Cap discussion for IPL 2020.

4. Rohit Sharma

As one of the premier white-ball batsmen in world cricket, we all know what is Rohit Sharma capable of. He is the third highest run-scorer in the history of the IPL (4,898), but, surprisingly has never won the Orange Cap.

This can be his season after he was the highest scorer of the 2019 ICC CWC, with 5 centuries to his name.

His current form is outstanding. You feel he just needs few good innings to be the highest scorer of IPL 2020, such is his ability to go big.

3. KL Rahul

KL Rahul is arguably one of the best T20 batsmen for India. He is a very stylish and aggressive batsman at the top of the order.

He was the second and third highest run-scorer of the tournament in 2019 and 2018 seasons with 593 and 659 runs respectively.

His current form is fantastic. Further, he’s been named as the skipper of the KXIP team, and he can thrive with the leadership role he has been given.

It will be very exciting to see if he can win both the IPL trophy and Orange Cap in the upcoming season.

2. Virat Kohli

“King” Kohli is the highest run-scorer in IPL history with 5,412 runs. He has been exceptional for India and is arguably the best batsman across formats in the world currently.

Kohli has won the Orange Cap once in the 2016 season when he scored a record 973 runs from 16 matches.

He also scored four centuries that season, also a record.

In the upcoming season, the RCB skipper will surely want to lift the IPL trophy for the first time, while wearing the Orange Cap for the second time.

1. David Warner

David Warner loves playing in the IPL. He is the only player to have won the Orange Cap thrice (2015, 2017 & 2019)!

He is an unstoppable force in the IPL.

He has the most runs as an overseas player in the history of IPL (4,706). Also, he scored 692 runs from just 12 matches in the previous season and is the number one contender for the Orange Cap in IPL 2020.

BBL09 Match 29: BH vs HH Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | BH vs HH Dream11 | BBL09 Match Prediction Today | Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes Prediction Today| Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes Key Players | BH vs HH Dream11 Prediction

We have now reached the point of the season where the Australian ODI players won’t be available as they travel to India for the upcoming ODI series.

One team affected is Hobart Hurricanes, with their star batsman D’Arcy Short now unavailable for a few games as he was picked as a replacement for the injured Sean Abbott. A positive is that their skipper Matthew Wade returns from Test duty; much needed given the loss of Riley Meredith to injury as well, plus their need for a win.

Brisbane Heat return home after matches on the road. The Sydney crowd were treated to some magnificent hitting in a rain-affected match a few nights ago. Tom Banton, now playing his second-last game of BBL09 before the arrival of AB de Villiers, will be out for another big outing.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Chris Lynn when the Heat bat first in BBL09: 94 (35), 88* (55) and 31 (13).
  • His 88* came against the Hurricanes last week in a 200+ score for the Heat. He has 433 runs vs Hurricanes at an average of 61.86 and SR 159.19.
  • Tom Banton was outstanding vs Sydney Thunder a few nights ago, scoring a 16-ball 50. Can he fire with Riley Meredith missing from the opposition?
  • Max Bryant vs Hurricanes last week: 65 (36).
  • Matt Wade in the BBL last season: 592 runs, avg. 42.28, SR: 146.89. However, he has to improve on his 44 runs in four innings vs Heat.
  • Ben McDermott will be crucial for the Hurricanes in the absence of D’Arcy Short. He has 99 runs in three games vs Heat, so has to build on his starts.
  • Caleb Jewell: 88 runs vs Heat in two games.
  • Matt Renshaw in BBL09: 156 runs and three wickets in four overs. Ben Cutting has 222 runs and 10 wickets in 13 games vs Hurricanes.
  • Who will step up for the Hurricanes with the ball? Riley Meredith and James Faulkner are out injured. Qais Ahmad will have a vital role to play.
  • Zahir Khan has taken at least one wicket in each of his last five games.
  • Mitch Swepson: Just one wicket in five games vs Hurricanes.
  • Ben Laughlin: At least one wicket in each of his last five games.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 15, Heat 5, Hurricanes 10.
  • Brisbane Heat smashed 212/3 vs Hurricanes last week, after Hobart inexplicably chose to bowl first.

Key to a Brisbane Heat win

Power. The batting lineup, on paper, is one of the best in the League. However, with the Hurricanes missing key bowlers, it is crucial that the Heat batsmen don’t get complacent, but rather, build towards a strong total through effective partnerships.

Also, can the Heat bowlers limit the Hurricanes’ batting lineup; one that’s missing D’Arcy Short? Matt Wade, despite no T20 cricket in a while, will be a key wicket up front, putting pressure on a batting lineup that can struggle to find the boundary.

Key to a Hobart Hurricanes win

It will take a team effort with the ball. Riley Meredith has often carried this attack in BBL09, so his injury comes as a massive blow. So, the young Nathan Ellis, along with solid domestic performer Scott Boland, need to lead the way with seam. Can they give Qais Ahmad a platform to work off?

Also, the Hurricanes top order is so crucial to their chances. Matt Wade, Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott will be required to rotate strike well, with boundaries added in to lift the scoring rate further. Come the final five overs, the Hurricanes need wickets in hand for a final launch.

Brisbane Heat: 1. Tom Banton (wk), 2. Max Bryant, 3. Chris Lynn (c), 4. Matt Renshaw, 5. Joe Burns, 6. Ben Cutting, 7. Jack Prestwidge, 8. Josh Lalor, 9. Mitch Swepson, 10. Ben Laughlin, 11. Zahir Khan

Hobart Hurricanes have so much BBL experience and quality missing. D’Arcy Short (ODI duty), James Faulkner (injured) and Riley Meredith (injured) are out. However, Matthew Wade returns and will skipper the team. Given the thin-looking attack, he and Milenko could be required to bowl multiple overs.

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. Matthew Wade (c), 2. Caleb Jewell, 3. Ben McDermott (wk), 4. George Bailey, 5. David Miller, 6. Simon Milenko, 7. Clive Rose, 8. Mac Wright/David Moody, 9. Nathan Ellis, 10. Qais Ahmad, 11. Scott Boland
