The only aspect of comprehensiveness that India missed in Indore was the fact they lost four wickets in their chase. Otherwise, it was as comprehensive as it gets, brushing Sri Lanka aside with a mix of express pace and wily spin.

So, the tourists must respond in the series’ final match. Sri Lanka have been smashed in each of their past four T20Is, so this will be a test of their mettle. Can they put in a big performance to leave India with some confidence?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Virat Kohli has the most runs in India-Sri Lanka T20Is. He’s only played in seven such matches, amassing 313 runs at an average of 104.33.
  • KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan are coming off time at the crease last game. They sit fourth and fifth with 241 and 237 runs respectively in India-Sri Lanka T20Is.
  • Shreyas Iyer’s last four T20Is: 70, 53, 7, 34.
  • Starts for Sri Lanka’s top three last game. Danushka Gunathilaka (20), Avishka Fernando (22) and Kusal Perera (34) are key players and have to build on starts.
  • Kusal Perera is only Sri Lankan other than Kumar Sangakarra to score 200+ runs vs India in T20Is.
  • Angelo Mathews could be a key in for SL. His last four scores in white-ball internationals: 113, 48, 52* and 87. Also, Mathews averages 78.00 with the bat in T20Is in India.
  • How good was Navdeep Saini in Indore? 45% of his deliveries were 145km/h+. His 2/18 won him man-of-the match.
  • Jasprit Bumrah bowled sharply on his return. Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav (10 wickets in six games vs SL) were also in the wickets.
  • However, there is a chance Yuzvendra Chahal will get a game. He is the highest wicket-taker in India-SL matches (14).
  • There is no Isuru Udana available for SL. So, Lasith Malinga has to lead the attack well. His record vs India is poor: Four wickets in nine T20Is at an average of 62.50.
  • It was a good showing from Wananidu Hasaranga last game (two wickets). His mix of googlies and standard deliveries made him a constant threat.

Key to an India win

India’s bowlers never let Sri Lanka get away in the second T20I. Jasprit Bumrah was sharp but mostly steady early, and the main positives were Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini stepping up in the absence of regulars. With effective spin to boot, India can look for a repeat in the final match.

Also, will India persist with Virat Kohli at four? One can argue that number four is too low a position for a team’s best player in T20s, so it remains to be seen how the top three fare. One battle within the battle will be KL Rahul vs Shikhar Dhawan once again for Rohit’s permanent T20 partner.

Key to a Sri Lanka win

India have lost a match in each of their last three T20I series. In each of these defeats, the opposition was able to limit the Indian batsmen, taking advantage of India’s preference to chase. So, Sri Lanka need to take heart from this, with the likes of Lasith Malinga to lead the way with wickets up front that they can then look to build on.

Also, can Sri Lanka better handle India’s mix of 140km/h+ pace and wily spin? The top four all made starts last time out, but the lack of conversion hurt their hopes for a bigger total. As always, better strike rotation is key to make full use of their boundaries.

Possible Playing 11

Yuzvendra Chahal is considered a chance of playing over Kuldeep Yadav. Also, it will be interesting to see if Virat continues at number four in a World T20 year.

India: 1. Shikhar Dhawan, 2. KL Rahul, 3. Virat Kohli (c), 4. Shreyas Iyer, 5. Rishabh Pant (wk), 6. Shivam Dube, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Washington Sundar, 9. Kuldeep Yadav/Yuzvendra Chahal, 10. Shardul Thakur, 11. Jasprit Bumrah

Isuru Udana is out for Sri Lanka. Angelo Mathews is likely to replace him.

Sri Lanka: 1. Danushka Gunathilaka, 2. Avishka Fernando, 3. Kusal Perera (wk), 4. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, 5. Oshada Fernando, 6. Angelo Mathews, 7. Dasun Shanaka, 8. Dhananjaya de Silva, 9. Wanindu Hasaranga, 10. Lasith Malinga (c), 11. Lahiru Kumara

Pitch and Conditions

Cool conditions and clear skies is the forecast for Pune. So, that could mean dew in the second innings.

The pitch is expected to suit batsmen mostly, but bowlers who land the ball in the right areas can have some joy.

BBL09 Match 30: MR vs MS Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | MR vs MS Dream11 | BBL09 Match Prediction Today | Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars Prediction Today| Melbourne Renegades vs Melbourne Stars Key Players | MR vs MS Dream11 Prediction

One Melbourne side is top. The other is bottom, without a win in seven.

Worse, the Melbourne Renegades are defending champions. Even more worse is that they rarely looked like winning throughout the tournament, with batting collapses and key fielding blunders plaguing what has been a forgettable season to date.

And it doesn’t get any easier. They are without Aaron Finch and Kane Richardson, who are now on ODI duty for Australia, against BBL09 form team Melbourne Stars. Unlike last season, the Stars will keep Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, who were both overlooked for Australia’s tour of India.

This the second Melbourne Derby in less than a week. Will it be another one-sided game?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Marcus Stoinis loves the Renegades. He scored 68* against them last week, part of 322 runs overall vs Renegades at an average of 83.00.
  • Also, Stoinis is the BBL09 top run-scorer. He has three straight 50+ scores.
  • There is no Aaron Finch for the Renegades. So, Shaun Marsh (235 runs in BBL09) and the impressive Beau Webster (236 runs) will be key players.
  • Glenn Maxwell’s last two scores: 40* (32) vs Renegades and a clinical, brilliant 59* (37) vs Thunder.
  • Sam Harper’s last three scores in BBL09: 45 (24), 12 (8), 73 (46). Can he step up against the strong Stars attack?
  • Ben Dunk could open the batting as Nic Maddinson is out with a shoulder injury. He has 151 runs vs Renegades in six games. Can he build on starts against them?
  • Everyone is looking forward to watching Haris Rauf. The hat-trick hero vs Thunder has an incredible 13 wickets in four games in BBL09.
  • There will be no Adam Zampa due to ODI duty, but Sandeep Lamichhane will be one to watch. He took 3/26 vs Renegades last week.
  • Nathan Coulter-Nile: Key bowler, fielder and possible pinch-hitter for the Stars. His 1/16 and catch last game vs Thunder was a good outing.
  • Dan Christian will lead the Renegades in the absence of Finch. It’s now or never for Christian, who must deliver with bat and ball to give his team a chance.
  • Richard Gleeson is coming off three wickets last game in what has been an otherwise disappointing campaign. He needs to follow up well.
  • Cameron Boyce’s last four games at Docklands: 2/33, 2/30, 2/18, 2/31.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 17, Renegades 5, Stars 12.
  • Melbourne Stars won the previous meeting easily six days ago; by eight wickets.

Key to a Melbourne Renegades win

Their leading wicket-taker (Kane Richardson) and captain (Aaron Finch) are both missing. So where will the Renegades find their inspiration?

On the batting front, Sam Harper, Shaun Marsh, Beau Webster and Dan Christian are the key men to watch with Marcus Harris and Tom Cooper are out of form. Can they get the better of the Stars attack, and avoid an awful collapse; the kind we saw a week ago?

On the bowling front, Cameron Boyce, Samit Patel and Richard Gleeson have a responsibility to lead a Richardson-less attack. Also, skipper Christian will be needed to chip in with effective overs. Can the Renegades expose a Stars middle order that has been a little short on time this season?

Key to a Melbourne Stars win

The Stars’ bowling template has been set for BBL09. Glenn Maxwell can deliver cheap overs in the powerplay, with the seamers looking to strike from the other end. Then, the wrist-spinners and Haris Rauf look to do their magic in the middle overs, before Rauf finishes off with a bang. Adam Zampa will be missing from this one, but the Stars attack still looks in good shape.

So does their top order, with Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell in particular in good form. Ben Dunk and Nick Larkin also have an opportunity to impress, as there is a chance to pounce on an opponent so low on confidence.

BBL09 Match 30: MR vs MS Preview Dream11: Marcus Stoinis is the top run-scorer in BBL09.

Possible Playing 11

Four changes have been made to the Melbourne Renegades’ 13-man squad. Aaron Finch and Kane Richardson are on ODI duty. Tom Andrews and Andrew Fekete are also out of the squad. In come Tom Cooper, Joe Mennie, Luke Robbins and Jack Wildermuth.

Melbourne Renegades: 1. Sam Harper (wk), 2. Marcus Harris, 3. Shaun Marsh, 4. Beau Webster, 5. Tom Cooper, 6. Daniel Christian (c), 7. Samit Patel, 8. Jack Wildermuth, 9. Cameron Boyce, 10. Joe Mennie, 11. Richard Gleeson

Nic Maddinson is out with a shoulder injury. Adam Zampa and Peter Handscomb are on ODI duty for Australia. So, a total of three changes will be made to the Stars XI.

Melbourne Stars: 1. Ben Dunk, 2. Marcus Stoinis, 3. Nick Larkin, 4. Glenn Maxwell (c), 5. Hilton Cartwright, 6. Seb Gotch (wk), 7. Nathan Coulter-Nile, 8. Clint Hinchliffe, 9. Daniel Worrall, 10. Haris Rauf, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

Marvel Stadium Pitch Report and Conditions

There is a high chance of rain in the afternoon and evening in Melbourne. However, Marvel Stadium has a roof, so it will come handy.

The average first innings score in BBL09 at Marvel Stadium is 154 in two games. The pitch is often on the slow side, and the outfield has been very slow this season. 160+ could be a tough score to chase.

Match Prediction

Melbourne Renegades have been in awful form. But, does form go out the window in a Derby?

Given the significant lack of confidence in the Renegades team, plus the loss of Finch and Richardson, it might be too difficult to overcome the likes of Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Haris Rauf and the rest of the Stars’ attack.

Stars to win.

7 Players Who Can Win the Orange Cap in IPL 2020

7 Players Who Can Win the Orange Cap in IPL 2020 | Who will win the Orange Cap in IPL 2020? | IPL 2020 best batsmen

2020 is up and running. So, one thing that means is that the next edition of IPL is around the corner.

IPL is the best T20 franchise league in the world. Along with its incredible action and passion, it pioneered unique awards for players, such as Best Catch of the Tournament, Fair Play Award, Super Striker and others.

One such award is the “Orange Cap”, given to the highest run-scorer of the tournament.

Ahead of IPL 2020, there are a number of talented players that will be at the forefront of the run-scoring discussion. Here, we’ll look at some players who are the top contenders for the Orange Cap in the 13th edition of IPL.

7. Shubman Gill

A player on track for Indian stardom. Shubman Gill is some talent, and is expected to get an extended run at the top of the order for KKR this season.

He has an excellent record as an opener in IPL cricket, with 236 runs in six innings to date, averaging 47.20. Also, his strike rate of 140.48 is extremely impressive along with his classy strokeplay, and is certainly one to watch in the upcoming season.

6. Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler has been even more destructive since he has started opening the innings for Rajasthan Royals in 2018. His average was 54 that season, which was boosted significantly by his move to opener.

In the last season, he scored 311 runs from eight matches before going off for national duties.

He’s expected to play the full season in IPL 2020. If he shows the form he has over the past two seasons, Buttler is certainly a chance of winning the Orange Cap.

5. Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow is an absolute gun player in white-ball cricket. His record is phenomenal and is a boundary hitting machine at the top.

He made his IPL debut last season and scored 445 runs in 10 matches at an average of 54.62, including a century against RCB.

With Bairstow expected to be available for the whole season, he has to be in the Orange Cap discussion for IPL 2020.

4. Rohit Sharma

As one of the premier white-ball batsmen in world cricket, we all know what is Rohit Sharma capable of. He is the third highest run-scorer in the history of the IPL (4,898), but, surprisingly has never won the Orange Cap.

This can be his season after he was the highest scorer of the 2019 ICC CWC, with 5 centuries to his name.

His current form is outstanding. You feel he just needs few good innings to be the highest scorer of IPL 2020, such is his ability to go big.

3. KL Rahul

KL Rahul is arguably one of the best T20 batsmen for India. He is a very stylish and aggressive batsman at the top of the order.

He was the second and third highest run-scorer of the tournament in 2019 and 2018 seasons with 593 and 659 runs respectively.

His current form is fantastic. Further, he’s been named as the skipper of the KXIP team, and he can thrive with the leadership role he has been given.

It will be very exciting to see if he can win both the IPL trophy and Orange Cap in the upcoming season.

2. Virat Kohli

“King” Kohli is the highest run-scorer in IPL history with 5,412 runs. He has been exceptional for India and is arguably the best batsman across formats in the world currently.

Kohli has won the Orange Cap once in the 2016 season when he scored a record 973 runs from 16 matches.

He also scored four centuries that season, also a record.

In the upcoming season, the RCB skipper will surely want to lift the IPL trophy for the first time, while wearing the Orange Cap for the second time.

1. David Warner

David Warner loves playing in the IPL. He is the only player to have won the Orange Cap thrice (2015, 2017 & 2019)!

He is an unstoppable force in the IPL.

He has the most runs as an overseas player in the history of IPL (4,706). Also, he scored 692 runs from just 12 matches in the previous season and is the number one contender for the Orange Cap in IPL 2020.

BBL09 Match 29: BH vs HH Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | BH vs HH Dream11 | BBL09 Match Prediction Today | Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes Prediction Today| Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes Key Players | BH vs HH Dream11 Prediction

We have now reached the point of the season where the Australian ODI players won’t be available as they travel to India for the upcoming ODI series.

One team affected is Hobart Hurricanes, with their star batsman D’Arcy Short now unavailable for a few games as he was picked as a replacement for the injured Sean Abbott. A positive is that their skipper Matthew Wade returns from Test duty; much needed given the loss of Riley Meredith to injury as well, plus their need for a win.

Brisbane Heat return home after matches on the road. The Sydney crowd were treated to some magnificent hitting in a rain-affected match a few nights ago. Tom Banton, now playing his second-last game of BBL09 before the arrival of AB de Villiers, will be out for another big outing.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Chris Lynn when the Heat bat first in BBL09: 94 (35), 88* (55) and 31 (13).
  • His 88* came against the Hurricanes last week in a 200+ score for the Heat. He has 433 runs vs Hurricanes at an average of 61.86 and SR 159.19.
  • Tom Banton was outstanding vs Sydney Thunder a few nights ago, scoring a 16-ball 50. Can he fire with Riley Meredith missing from the opposition?
  • Max Bryant vs Hurricanes last week: 65 (36).
  • Matt Wade in the BBL last season: 592 runs, avg. 42.28, SR: 146.89. However, he has to improve on his 44 runs in four innings vs Heat.
  • Ben McDermott will be crucial for the Hurricanes in the absence of D’Arcy Short. He has 99 runs in three games vs Heat, so has to build on his starts.
  • Caleb Jewell: 88 runs vs Heat in two games.
  • Matt Renshaw in BBL09: 156 runs and three wickets in four overs. Ben Cutting has 222 runs and 10 wickets in 13 games vs Hurricanes.
  • Who will step up for the Hurricanes with the ball? Riley Meredith and James Faulkner are out injured. Qais Ahmad will have a vital role to play.
  • Zahir Khan has taken at least one wicket in each of his last five games.
  • Mitch Swepson: Just one wicket in five games vs Hurricanes.
  • Ben Laughlin: At least one wicket in each of his last five games.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 15, Heat 5, Hurricanes 10.
  • Brisbane Heat smashed 212/3 vs Hurricanes last week, after Hobart inexplicably chose to bowl first.

Key to a Brisbane Heat win

Power. The batting lineup, on paper, is one of the best in the League. However, with the Hurricanes missing key bowlers, it is crucial that the Heat batsmen don’t get complacent, but rather, build towards a strong total through effective partnerships.

Also, can the Heat bowlers limit the Hurricanes’ batting lineup; one that’s missing D’Arcy Short? Matt Wade, despite no T20 cricket in a while, will be a key wicket up front, putting pressure on a batting lineup that can struggle to find the boundary.

It will take a team effort with the ball. Riley Meredith has often carried this attack in BBL09, so his injury comes as a massive blow. So, the young Nathan Ellis, along with solid domestic performer Scott Boland, need to lead the way with seam. Can they give Qais Ahmad a platform to work off?

Also, the Hurricanes top order is so crucial to their chances. Matt Wade, Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott will be required to rotate strike well, with boundaries added in to lift the scoring rate further. Come the final five overs, the Hurricanes need wickets in hand for a final launch.

Joe Burns returns to the Heat squad. He could slot into the middle order, with Banton taking the gloves and Jimmy Peirson missing out.

Brisbane Heat: 1. Tom Banton (wk), 2. Max Bryant, 3. Chris Lynn (c), 4. Matt Renshaw, 5. Joe Burns, 6. Ben Cutting, 7. Jack Prestwidge, 8. Josh Lalor, 9. Mitch Swepson, 10. Ben Laughlin, 11. Zahir Khan

Hobart Hurricanes have so much BBL experience and quality missing. D’Arcy Short (ODI duty), James Faulkner (injured) and Riley Meredith (injured) are out. However, Matthew Wade returns and will skipper the team. Given the thin-looking attack, he and Milenko could be required to bowl multiple overs.

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. Matthew Wade (c), 2. Caleb Jewell, 3. Ben McDermott (wk), 4. George Bailey, 5. David Miller, 6. Simon Milenko, 7. Clive Rose, 8. Mac Wright/David Moody, 9. Nathan Ellis, 10. Qais Ahmad, 11. Scott Boland

Gabba Pitch Report and Conditions

The forecast is for warm and sunny in Brisbane. In terms of the Gabba pitch, it is usually a beauty for batting, offering batsmen the opportunity for batsmen to hit freely through the line.

A week following Melbourne Stars‘ win over Sydney Thunder in Sydney, the two sides go again, looking to further cement their place in the BBL09 top five.

The Stars are arguably the team to beat. However, whether they can maintain their nerve in the biggest games of the season remains to be seen. But, for now, they look like they could conquer all before them, including the Thunder, who have lost two straight games after being on the wrong end of a Tom Banton onslaught two nights ago.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Marcus Stoinis is currently the leading BBL09 run-scorer (281 at 70.25).
  • Stoinis scored 58 vs Thunder a week ago, part of a fine run of form where his last five scores read: 81*, 33, 25, 58, 68*.
  • Usman Khawaja failed against the Stars last week, but still has a good record against them: 250 runs at an average of 50. Alex Hales has had a quiet few games: 11*, 32, 4, 0, 20*. He needs a big outing.
  • Nick Larkin loves playing the Thunder. His scores in three games against them: 28*, 41*, 65.
  • Sydney Thunder need Callum Ferguson to deliver in this game. He has to improve on his record vs Stars: 34 runs in three games.
  • Glenn Maxwell took two wickets vs Sydney Thunder last week. His record vs them with the bat (avg. 16 in seven games) is poor, but he is coming off some time at the crease (40* off 32 balls vs Renegades).
  • Alex Ross scored 40 vs Melbourne Stars one week ago.
  • Daniel Sams is the leading wicket-taker in BBL09 (14). He has taken at least two wickets in every game, except for one where he took a single wicket. He took three wickets vs Stars last week.
  • Haris Rauf will be playing in this game. He has been one of the stars of BBL09 (10 wickets in three games).
  • Chris Morris has eight wickets in five games.
  • Sandeep Lamichhane (3/26) and Adam Zampa (2/19) were superb at the MCG last time out, taking 5/45 between them. Also, Zampa has eight wickets in six games vs Thunder.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 11, Stars 5, Thunder 6.
  • Melbourne Stars have won the last two meetings between the sides. The last meeting was a week ago, where the Stars’ middle order made hard work of what looked a straightforward chase.

Possible Playing 11

Dale Steyn’s BBL09 stint is over. Pat Brown, supposed to be his replacement, has suffered a lower-back stress fracture and is out for an extended period. So, fast bowler Haris Rauf is in the 13-man squad and the stage is set for him to shine again.

Melbourne Stars: 1. Marcus Stoinis, 2. Hilton Cartwright/Nic Maddinson, 3. Nick Larkin, 4. Glenn Maxwell (c), 5. Peter Handscomb (wk), 6. Ben Dunk, 7. Nathan Coulter-Nile, 8. Adam Zampa, 9. Haris Rauf, 10. Daniel Worrall, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

Jono Cook is back in the Thunder 13-man squad after missing out in the Thunder’s loss vs Heat in the rain-affected match two nights ago.

Sydney Thunder: 1. Usman Khawaja, 2. Alex Hales, 3. Callum Ferguson (c), 4. Matthew Gilkes (wk), 5. Alex Ross, 6. Daniel Sams, 7. Chris Morris, 8. Chris Green, 9. Nathan McAndrew, 10. Arjun Nair/Jono Cook, 11. Chris Tremain

MCG Pitch Report and Conditions

Both the Renegades and Stars top orders had a good time of things in the last game at MCG. However, the Stars’ spinners ripped through the Renegades in the middle overs, which suggests this could be a period where the scoring rate can be contained.

In terms of the weather, smoke haze has been hanging around Melbourne in recent weeks. No rain is forecast.

Melbourne Stars are looking strong. Sydney Thunder have hit a bit of a wall.

The Thunder, punching above their weight, have it in them to compete. However, the Stars’ depth and quality should get them over the line.

BBL09 Match 27: AS vs SS Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | AS vs SS Dream11 | BBL09 Match Prediction Today | Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers Prediction Today| Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers Key Players | AS vs SS Dream11 Prediction

Just three days after the Strikers and Sixers went head-to-head in Coffs Harbour, the two sides battle again, this time in the Adelaide Oval sunshine.

Sydney Sixers are the form side in BBL09. They have won four straight games, which is a welcome change from their win-loss pattern of last season. They have the chance to go top of the table against Adelaide Strikers, with the home side looking to keep pace with the top two: Stars and Sixers.

Amid the talent on show in this one, which side will hold their nerve better in the important stages?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Josh Philippe was outstanding three nights ago against the same opposition (83 off 52). His onside play was particularly superb.
  • Justin Avendano hit the ground running straight away in his campaign. He scored 47 off 33 balls in the last game. Another good game awaiting?
  • Jake Weatherald vs Sixers at Adelaide Oval last season: 50 (40). But, it has been Jono Wells who continues to be consistent for the Strikers.
  • Wells has 138 runs vs Sixers for only one dismissal. Also, his scores in BBL09 have been very solid: 55*, 18*, 68*, 20, 26, 40*.
  • Alex Carey in BBL09: 6 matches, 234 runs, avg. 39.00. He averages the exact same vs Sixers (39).
  • Harry Nielsen could play his first game of BBL09. He was named man-of-the-match in Prime Minister XI’s T20 win over Sri Lanka in October (79 off 50 balls).
  • Tom Curran’s last two games (1/58 and 0/40) have been underwhelming. However, his all-round ability means he is always one to watch in T20s.
  • Ben Dwarshuis had a poor night in the field in Coffs Harbour, conceding 40 and dropping two catches. However, he has 11 wickets in six games vs Strikers.
  • Josh Hazlewood enjoyed a solid return to cricket with 1/18 last game.
  • Lloyd Pope is enjoying a good run: 1/15, 3/23, 2/22 and 2/41. His opposition leg-spinner, Rashid Khan, is an all-round threat to the Sixers: 85 runs at SR 197.67 and eight wickets in six games in BBL09.
  • Michael Neser had a poor night in the field last game, dropping a crucial catch and conceding 20+ in the penultimate over. But, his hitting (25 off 15) and ability to take wickets makes him a key man.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 11, Strikers 5, Sixers 6.
  • Sydney Sixers chased down 177 vs Strikers three nights ago.

Key to an Adelaide Strikers win

The Strikers held on with the ball despite not taking regular wickets in the first 10-15 overs of the Sixers innings three days ago. However, their death bowling, as well as their fielding, has to be areas for improvement here. But first, can they get the better of the in-form Sixers’ top order?

Also, with Jono Wells playing so beautifully in the middle order, the top order can play with freedom knowing they have an in-form batsman to come. Phil Salt, Jake Weatherald and Alex Carey have it in them to put the Sixers under significant pressure, of which the likes of Michael Neser and Rashid Khan can finish off.

BBL09 Match 27: AS vs SS Preview Dream11: Carey will be key.

Key to a Sydney Sixers win

Josh Philippe was so good in Coffs Harbour. It’s one thing to favour the legside, but to execute so well so often, particularly after a steady start, is an encouraging sign. Even without Moises Henriques, the Sixers top order has the likes of Justin Avendano, Daniel Hughes and James Vince to set the all-important platform.

Also, can the Sixers’ bowling attack get the better of the Strikers’ top order? Weatherald and Salt can provide the fireworks, while Wells and Carey can keep things ticking. The Sixers need regular wickets to restrict the home side.

BBL09 Match 27: AS vs SS Preview Dream11 – Philippe to repeat his fine knock?

Possible Playing 11

Harry Nielsen has joined the Strikers’ 13-man squad and is considered a good chance of playing, having replaced Cameron White.

Adelaide Strikers: 1. Phil Salt, 2. Jake Weatherald, 3. Alex Carey (c & wk), 4. Jono Wells, 5. Harry Nielsen, 6. Matt Short, 7. Michael Neser, 8. Rashid Khan, 9. Peter Siddle, 10. Harry Conway, 11. Billy Stanlake

Sydney Sixers have named an unchanged 13-man squad. Assuming Steve O’Keefe continues to be hampered by his calf injury, it will likely be the same XI. Moises Henriques is unavailable due to the birth of his first child.

Sydney Sixers: 1. Josh Philippe (wk), 2. Justin Avendano, 3. Daniel Hughes, 4. James Vince, 5. Jordan Silk, 6. Tom Curran, 7. Jack Edwards, 8. Ben Dwarshuis, 9. Jackson Bird, 10. Josh Hazlewood, 11. Lloyd Pope

Adelaide Oval Pitch Report and Conditions

A warm and sunny day (35 degrees) is forecast for Adelaide. The track at Adelaide is often one of the best in the country, usually offering a true surface for batsmen to play their shots.

India vs Sri Lanka 2020, take two.

After rain washed out the opening game of the series in Guwahati, attention moves to Indore, where the weather forecast looks far more promising.

India have the chance to improve on four key errors they are making in T20Is. Sri Lanka have the chance to right-the-wrongs of an awful Australia tour, so soon after their superb 3-0 series win in Pakistan. Who will take a 1-0 series lead?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • KL Rahul has certainly made a strong case to partner Rohit permanently in T20Is. He scored 62, 11 and 91 in the recent T20I series vs West Indies.
  • Also, KL Rahul scored 89 in the only T20I played at Indore to date – also vs Sri Lanka.
  • Virat Kohli vs Sri Lanka in T20Is: 4 matches, 283 runs, average: 94.33, SR: 136.71.
  • Rishabh Pant looked promising in the recent ODI series vs West Indies, with scores of 71 and 39 in the opening two ODIs.
  • Danushka Gunathilaka has made four double-figure scores in his past five T20Is, but has only passed 20 twice. Needs to build on this.
  • Kusal Perera is the current highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka vs India in T20Is (174 at an average just under 30).
  • Bhanuka Rajapaksas recent scores in the Bangladesh Premier League: 29, 32, 6, 96*, 10.
  • India didn’t pick Yuzvendra Chahal last game, which is odd given he is the leading wicket-taker in India-SL T20Is. He took four wickets on this ground just over two years ago.
  • Jasprit Bumrah returns, take two. He needs two wickets to surpass Ravi Ashwin (52) as India’s all-time leading wicket-taker in T20Is.
  • Interestingly, Lasith Malinga averages 52 with the ball vs India in T20Is. However, he is one to watch as he bowls in the crunch overs.
  • Isuru Udana is six wickets away from 150 in T20s. He has enhanced his reputation as a fine all-round player in the short format.

IND vs SL 2nd T20I Preview Dream11: Kohli has a great record vs SL.

Head to Head

  • Out of six T20I series, India have won five. The other was drawn.
  • India smashed 260/5 at Indore vs SL in 2017, with Rohit hitting 118. Rohit is rested for this series, but India still possess a capable top three that SL need to overcome.

Holkar Cricket Stadium Indore Pitch Report and Conditions

The track at Indore favours batting, along with short boundaries. This was the case in the only T20I at the ground, where India amassed 260. The key will be whether the spinners can get some grip off the surface today.

Also, the forecast is promising, with no rain expected.

Possible Playing 11

India left Yuzvendra Chahal out at Guwahati, before rain washed the game out. They could do so again, for Kuldeep Yadav who took three-for on this ground vs SL two years ago.

India: 1. Shikhar Dhawan, 2. KL Rahul, 3. Virat Kohli (c), 4. Shreyas Iyer, 5. Rishabh Pant (wk), 6. Shivam Dube, 7. Washington Sundar, 8. Shardul Thakur, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Jasprit Bumrah, 11. Navdeep Saini

Sri Lanka opted for the two Fernando’s in Guwahati.

Sri Lanka: 1. Avishka Fernando, 2. Danushka Gunathilaka, 3. Kusal Perera, 4. Oshada Fernando, 5. Bhanuka Rajapaksa, 6. Dhananjaya de Silva, 7. Dasun Shanaka, 8. Isuru Udana, 9. Wanindu Hasaranga, 10. Lahiru Kumara, 11. Lasith Malinga

BBL09 Match 26: MR vs PS Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | BBL09 Match Prediction Today | Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers Prediction Today| Melbourne Renegades vs Perth Scorchers Key Players | MR vs PS Dream11 Prediction

It is the champions vs the most successful team in BBL history.

However, at the moment, it is the winless team up against the team that used to dominate.

Melbourne Renegades, reigning champions, have sunk to 0-6 record, giving them the improbable task of somehow reaching the finals via their next eight games. They play Perth Scorchers who were so sloppy against Hobart Hurricanes, in a game that both sides simply must win as the season nears the halfway mark.

Amid the talent on show in this one, which side will hold their nerve better in the important stages?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Harry Gurney is out injured. Melbourne Renegades have brought in Samit Patel as his international replacement.
  • Patel, boasting 258 games of T20 experience, has 28 fifties and 203 wickets. The Renegades need him to get going straight away.
  • Mitchell Marsh, coming off 48 on Sunday, scored 56* (22) vs Renegades earlier this season.
  • Cameron Bancroft enjoyed a half-century against the Renegades in the same game.
  • Liam Livingstone looked dangerous before throwing it away last game. Can he pounce on a vulnerable Renegades attack?
  • Shaun Marsh and Beau Webster have arguably been Renegades’ most consistent batsmen in BBL09 (233 and 177 runs respectively).
  • Also, Webster and Marsh scored half-centuries vs Scorchers in BBL09.
  • Crucial game for skipper Aaron Finch. He has 221 runs at 22.10 vs Scorchers – needs to deliver more in this game.
  • Kane Richardson has taken just one wicket in his past two games. But, he loves playing the Scorchers: Nine wickets in five games. He took four against them in their earlier meeting in BBL09.
  • Chris Jordan is one to watch. He has eight wickets in six games and is a magnificent fielder in the key positions.
  • Fawad Ahmed also has eight wickets in six games, and he can be vital against a Renegades’ side that continues to collapse in the middle overs.
  • Cameron Boyce’s last two games in Geelong: 0/37 and 0/42. He must step up now for the Renegades.
  • Dan Christian has been poor in BBL09, but has seven wickets in two innings vs Scorchers.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 11, Renegades 2, Scorchers 9.
  • Perth Scorchers won a high-scoring match earlier this season by 13 runs. Mitch Marsh won the battle of the Marsh brothers.
  • Note: Melbourne Renegades have lost each of their last three matches in Geelong.

Key to a Melbourne Renegades win

The Renegades’ collapses have been all-too-common in BBL09. From 117/2 vs Stars, the Renegades collapsed to 142/9 – a total that was never enough. Here, the top order needs to carry on with starts, with at least one of the top four still at the crease heading into the final four overs.

Also, the Renegades’ bowling has been a disappointment. Kane Richardson can’t do it all on his own, so it’s now or never for the likes of Dan Christian, Cameron Boyce and Richard Gleeson to make worthy contributions.

BBL09 Match 26: MR vs PS Preview Dream11: A lot rests on S Marsh.

Key to a Perth Scorchers win

The Scorchers’ fielding on Sunday evening vs Hurricanes was abysmal. By producing standards even rubbished by park cricketers, the Scorchers were always behind the eight-ball. Couple this with poor death bowling, and everyone knows what the Scorchers need to work on.

Also, while the middle order collapses for the Renegades, the top did for the Scorchers last time out. Liam Livingstone threw his wicket away after looking so good, and a couple of wickets quickly followed. Here, the top three need to set a strong platform for Mitch Marsh to play with freedom.

Possible Playing 11

Samit Patel has replaced Harry Gurney in Melbourne Renegades’ 13-man squad. Also, Andrew Fekete and Marcus Harris join the squad. The Renegades’ season is in such disarray that whoever comes in must perform right away.

Melbourne Renegades: 1. Sam Harper (wk), 2. Aaron Finch (c), 3. Shaun Marsh, 4. Marcus Harris, 5. Beau Webster, 6. Dan Christian, 7. Samit Patel, 8. Will Sutherland/Tom Andrews, 9. Cameron Boyce, 10. Kane Richardson, 11. Richard Gleeson

Keeper-batsman Sam Whiteman comes into the Scorchers’ 13-man squad. If he is to play, it could be for Josh Inglis.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Josh Inglis (wk), 2. Liam Livingstone, 3. Cameron Bancroft, 4. Mitchell Marsh (c), 5. Cameron Green, 6. Chris Jordan, 7. Tim David, 8. Ashton Agar, 9. Jhye Richardson, 10. Matt Kelly/Joel Paris, 11. Fawad Ahmed

Geelong Pitch Report and Conditions

The Geelong pitch played well in the Renegades vs Thunder game earlier this season. The track was quite true throughout, with the Thunder openers; Hales and Khawaja, striking the ball beautifully in a run chase of 170. Sam Harper for the Renegades also struck the ball beautifully early on.

In terms of the weather, there is some smoke haze expected to linger around the Geelong area. Rain should be minimal.

Two struggling sides. The Renegades are in all sorts, whereas the Scorchers can be so bad on an off-day that anyone can beat them.

It ultimately comes down to which team makes less mistakes in this one. At home, the Renegades could come away with their first win of the season. If it’s not now, it’s never.

BBL09 Match 25: ST vs BH Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report BBL09 Match Prediction Today | Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat Prediction Today| Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat Key Players | ST vs BH Dream11 Prediction

As BBL09 approaches the halfway mark, an important game awaits between two sides that have delivered some drama-filled matches over the years.

Whether it’s Chris Lynn’s incredible knock to seal a chase three years ago or the fiasco of the Gabba lights last season, you can count on a Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat battle to throw up a surprise or two.

The Thunder have the chance to keep pace with the top two. The Heat need to win to get back into the top five. Who will hold their nerve?

Amid the talent on show in this one, which side will hold their nerve better in the important stages?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Chris Lynn responded in the perfect fashion last game, winning man-of-the-match with 88* (55) vs Hurricanes.
  • Lynn is far-and-away the top run-scorer in Heat-Thunder clashes: 436 runs at an average of 62.26 and SR of 172.33.
  • Lynn when batting first in BBL09: 94 (35) and 88* (55). When batting second: 9, 6 and 14.
  • Callum Ferguson scored a superb 73* (44) vs Brisbane Heat in the first match of BBL09. Currently third with 248 runs in BBL09, it is impossible to ignore Ferguson.
  • It is a big game for Tom Banton. He has made just the one significant score so far in the tournament. Alex Hales is in a similar boat.
  • Usman Khawaja in BBL09: 22, 66, 0, 16, 63, 1. Due a score this game?
  • Matt Renshaw is having an excellent tournament so far: 156 runs at 39.00, with SR 136. He also has three wickets in six overs.
  • Alex Ross has been decent when given the chance to bat: He has accumulated 126 runs in 103 balls in BBL09 (avg. 31.50).
  • Daniel Sams is the leading wicket-taker in BBL09 with 12. He has taken at least one wicket in every match to date. Chris Morris has supported him well with eight wickets in four matches.
  • Chris Green has scored some vital runs down the order against the Heat. His 61 runs have come at a SR of 196.77, along with six wickets in five games.
  • Zahir Khan has five wickets in his past four games, and will be a threat on the Sydney Showground pitch.
  • Mitch Swepson is back for Brisbane Heat after spending time with the Australia Test squad. His performances in BBL09: 2/11, 1/37 and 2/27.
  • Arjun Nair, Chris Green and Jono Cook took two wickets each in the Thunder’s win vs Heat earlier this season. Ben Laughlin has at least one wicket in each game in BBL09.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 10, Thunder 2, Heat 7.
  • Sydney Thunder won the earlier meeting this season by 29 runs.
  • Key stat: Brisbane Heat have won two from two when batting first, scoring 200+ on both occasions. When batting second, they have lost all three games.

Mitch Swepson is back in the squad and should slot into the Heat XI. He could replace either Jack Prestwidge or Mark Steketee.

Brisbane Heat: 1. Tom Banton, 2. Max Bryant, 3. Chris Lynn (c), 4. Matt Renshaw, 5. Ben Cutting, 6. Jimmy Peirson, 7. Josh Lalor, 8. Mark Steketee, 9. Mitch Swepson, 10. Ben Laughlin, 11. Zahir Khan

Sydney Showground Pitch Report and Conditions

Some showers are forecast for Sydney. While this isn’t the best news for cricket, it is certainly welcome news considering the bushfires ravaging the state right now.

In terms of the pitch, the surface for the Thunder-Stars game a few days ago was on the slow, low side. Spinners and pacers who would bowl cutters found success. One can expect similar for today’s game.

BBL09 Match 24: PS vs HH Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | BBL09 Match Prediction Today | Perth Scorchers vs Hobart Hurricanes Prediction Today| Perth Scorchers vs Hobart Hurricanes Key Players | PS vs HH Dream11 Prediction

A sunny Perth day has significant repercussions for these two sides as we head towards the halfway mark of BBL09.

Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes both sit outside the top five, having played five games each. They have both enjoyed a mix of good and bad moments so far in the tournament, with the Scorchers coming off a fine win vs Heat, whereas the Hurricanes lost to the same team after an inexplicable decision to bowl first two nights ago.

Amid the talent on show in this one, which side will hold their nerve better in the important stages?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • D’Arcy Short has looked out of form in recent matches. The leading run-scorer over the past two seasons is coming off scores of 0 and 25 (24).
  • Short vs Scorchers: 36, 11, 34 and 13. Can he carry on from those starts and hit form when his team needs him?
  • George Bailey is the top run-scorer in Hurricanes-Scorchers matches (271 runs at 31.00). He scored an incredible 69 (39) on this ground last season to seal a chase.
  • Cameron Bancroft has two 50s in his past four BBL09 innings.
  • Josh Inglis and Liam Livingstone have had their positive moments so far in BBL09. Can they make more significant contributions?
  • Mitchell Marsh so far in BBL09: 32 (33), 56* (24), 14 (15), 17 (13), 26 (19). Primed for a big one today?
  • Ashton Turner has had an underwhelming BBL09 so far. But, he averages 35.75 in eight games vs Hurricanes.
  • Chris Jordan has taken eight wickets in five games this season.
  • Fawad Ahmed is coming off a man-of-the-match display (3/16) vs Heat. He comes up against a Hurricanes side that couldn’t quite get going vs spin a few nights ago.
  • Ashton Agar vs Hurricanes: Eight wickets in five games.
  • Riley Meredith in BBL09: Nine wickets in five games. Qais Ahmad has seven in five matches, and has a key role to play in Perth.
  • Jhye Richardson has four wickets in his past three games.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches 11, Scorchers 6, Hurricanes 5.
  • The Hurricanes have won the past three meetings.

Key to a Perth Scorchers win

There is no Scorchers batsman in the top 10 run-scorers in BBL09. Highest is Mitchell Marsh in 14th position with 145 runs. So, onus is on the Scorchers’ top order to push on with the starts they have been getting in recent matches to put the pressure on a Hurricanes side that went the journey last game vs Heat.

However, the Scorchers’ attack is taking shape nicely. All six of their bowlers were in the wickets in their last game vs Heat. Seeing how the Hurricanes have generally struggled to find the boundary regularly in BBL09, an opportunity awaits the Scorchers to build pressure on the top order and force them to play get-out-of-jail shots.

Key to a Hobart Hurricanes win

Like the Scorchers, the Hurricanes have a bit of a batting problem. Like the Scorchers, the Hurricanes have no batsman in the top 10 run-scorers in BBL09. The highest is D’Arcy Short, also on 145 runs, which calls for the Hurricanes batting lineup to do more than their plethora of 20s in the last game.

Also, can the Hurricanes, led by Riley Meredith, make inroads into the Scorchers top four? The Hurricanes need to stick to their task well, as the Scorchers batsmen have made a habit this season of getting out after making a start.

Perth Scorchers have named an unchanged 13-man squad from their win vs Brisbane Heat. There is a good chance they’ll play the same XI.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Josh Inglis (wk), 2. Liam Livingstone, 3. Cameron Bancroft, 4. Mitchell Marsh (c), 5. Ashton Turner, 6. Cameron Green, 7. Ashton Agar, 8. Chris Jordan, 9. Matt Kelly, 10. Jhye Richardson, 11. Fawad Ahmed

Hobart Hurricanes have made one forced change with James Faulkner out with a calf injury. Tom Rogers comes into the 13-man squad, but Scott Boland could be the man to replace Faulkner and make his Hurricanes debut.

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. D’Arcy Short, 2. Caleb Jewell, 3. Ben McDermott (c & wk), 4. David Miller, 5. George Bailey, 6. Simon Milenko, 7. Clive Rose, 8. Nathan Ellis, 9. Qais Ahmad, 10. Riley Meredith, 11. Scott Boland

Perth Stadium Pitch Report and Conditions

A warm day is forecast for Perth (a top of 33 degrees and sunny). In terms of the surface, the Perth Stadium pitch has had a little bit in it for everyone so far in BBL09: some bounce for the bowlers but freedom for the batsmen to hit confidently through the line if good enough.
