Zimbabwe vs UAE 1st ODI Preview Dream11 Prediction

Zimbabwe vs UAE 1st ODI Preview Dream11 Prediction. ZIM vs UAE 1st ODI Preview Dream11 Prediction

With IPL 2019 in full swing, and a World Cup fast approaching, the Zimbabwe vs UAE ODI series can be an oversight. However, both sides will be keen for victories, for different reasons.

No disrespect to UAE, but Zimbabwe would have been hoping that they were in a position of World Cup preparation. Instead, they have embarked on a losing run of 13 straight ODI matches, which also included a fatal 3-run loss to UAE that ended their World Cup dream. Now, their two linchpins – Hamilton Masakadza and Brendan Taylor – are out with injuries, heaping the pressure on a side that is out of form but expected to win at home to non-Test playing team.

For UAE, this is an exciting time. It is their first ever bilateral ODI series against a Test playing nation. They have the opportunity to make a mark, sending a message that they are good enough to compete with the lower-ranked Test playing sides. If their excellent tour game is anything to go by, they will give Zimbabwe a real test on their own patch in this series. Can UAE make a great start?

Key to a Zimbabwe win

Zimbabwe will be missing key players, but they aren’t without experience. Peter Moor, one of the lesser experienced players, will lead the side in Hamilton Masakadza’s absence. An ODI average of 19 in 42 matches is underwhelming for a player who has shown good form in Tests, and will be a key player for Zimbabwe in the middle order. Also, Solomon Mire will likely line up as opener, and the Zimbabweans will be hoping he replicates the kind of form he showed in the T20I Tri-Series against Pakistan and Australia last year. With Sean Williams, Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza three crucial players, Zimbabwe need a strong platform, giving the likes of Elton Chigumbura license to go big.

Also, can Zimbabwe get the better of UAE’s batting? A player to watch out for is Ashfaq Ahmed, who is coming off an excellent 131* vs the Zimbabwe Chairman XI just two days ago. Kyle Jarvis and Tendai Chatara will be key in nullifying his threat, as well as the likes of Ghulam Shabber and Rohan Mustafa. With a number of spin options, Zimbabwe can then look to build pressure on UAE’s middle order in the middle overs. Will it prove to be the case?

Image credit: AFP. Zimbabwe vs UAE 1st ODI Preview Dream11 – Craig Ervine will be crucial for Zimbabwe.

Key to a UAE win

There were plenty of positives for UAE in their win over the Zimbabwe Chairman’s XI. Qadeer Ahmed was outstanding, taking 3/32 to hurt the opposition. With Zimbabwe out to make a good start, he and captain Mohammad Naveed will be key in giving UAE a good start with the ball. He had some good support in the likes of Zahoor Khan, Imran Haider and Ashfaq Ahmed, which can give the tourists hope of replicating that sort of form in the ODIs. Can they get into Zimbabwe’s middle order early and cause some panic?

Also, Ashfaq Ahmed will be key. His big score in the tour game has given him crucial time in the middle, which he has to replicate in the ODIs. Overcoming the likes of Kyle Jarvis and Tendai Chatara won’t be easy, so a steady start for UAE is a good one. Ghulam Shabber also showed good form in the tour game, and he will be key at the top. If UAE can set a strong platform for the likes of the more experienced Rohan Mustafa, Muhammad Usman and Shaiman Anwar, they can hope for a good total.

Zimbabwe: 1. Regis Chakabva (wk), 2. Solomon Mire, 3. Craig Ervine/Brian Chari, 4. Sean Williams, 5. Sikandar Raza, 6. Peter Moor (c), 7. Elton Chigumbura, 8. Donald Tiripano/Brendan Mavuta, 9. Kyle Jarvis, 10. Chris Mpofu, 11. Tendai Chatara

UAE: 1. Ashfaq Ahmed, 2. Chirag Suri, 3. Ghulam Shabber (wk), 4. Rohan Mustafa, 5. Shaimam Anwar, 6. Muhammad Usman, 7. Mohammad Boota, 8. Imran Haider, 9. Zahoor Khan, 10. Mohammad Naveed (c), 11. Qadeer Ahmed

Option 2:

Zimbabwe vs UAE 1st ODI Preview Dream11

Stats and Facts

  • Zimbabwe have lost their past 13 ODIs.
  • UAE beat Zimbabwe to knock them out of World Cup Qualification just over a year ago. Mohammad Naveed was man of the match.
  • This is UAE’s first bilateral ODI series vs a Test playing nation.

Match Prediction

UAE will be out to impress. Zimbabwe are without two key players in Masakadza and Taylor.

However, with Zimbabwe still possessing key experience in the form of Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, Kyle Jarvis and Craig Ervine, I pick Zimbabwe to win and take a 1-0 series lead.

IPL 2019: MI vs KXIP Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: MI vs KXIP Preview Dream11 Prediction. Mumbai Indians vs Kings XI Punjab Preview Dream11 Prediction.

Preview co-written by N.S. Shekhawat

Two-and-a-half weeks into IPL 2019, and things are starting to take shape. The tight table rewards victories, and makes losses all the more damaging. So, plenty is at stake in the 24th match of IPL 2019.

Mumbai Indians are now back on track after a slow start, which included a defeat to today’s opponents. Their bowling is emerging as a huge threat, brushing aside IPL 2019 contenders CSK and SRH in the last two games. They get the advantage of their home ground, with a blue-filled stadium and Alzarri Joseph in fine touch. However, Rohit Sharma is in doubt with a thigh injury, which MI will hope is minor enough for him to play. He is crucial to the cause with Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard showing their capabilities. Will MI get some revenge over KXIP to leapfrog them into third?

Kings XI Punjab have been one of the surprise packets so far. They have played well, finding good balance as a team. Ravi Ashwin has been doing well both as a bowler and captain. KL Rahul has hit form with three fifties in his past four games. Chris Gayle is a danger man at the Wankhede, which could have us primed for a Gayle special. Will KXIP pick up a big result and leapfrog KKR into second spot?

Key to a MI win

If teams in IPL 2019 started their innings five down, MI would be top of the league. Their middle-lower order has been outstanding, with Hardik Pandya helping beat RCB and CSK, and Kieron Pollard delivering to help beat SRH. However, MI’s struggles up until the death overs is something they must rectify. Rohit Sharma (if fit) and Quinton de Kock will be key in delivering a good start. Ishan Kishan didn’t deliver in his first game, but he has plenty of potential. In addition, can Suryakumar Yadav build on the starts he has been making? In the game against KXIP a week-and-a-half ago, MI made a strong start, stuttered in the middle overs, and then finished well. However, the total was not enough, so can they finally put together a complete batting performance?

Also, can MI get the better of the KXIP openers, given they were able to break the strong SRH opening partnership early last game? The pace-trio of Jason Behrendhorff, Jasprit Bumrah and last-game hero Alzarri Joseph are a dangerous prospect, and will be key in making inroads. Rahul Chahar has shown promise, and Hardik Pandya is finding his feet with the ball. Will MI get the better of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle, and then maintain the pressure on KXIP’s middle order, as they were able to do vs CSK and SRH?

Image credit: AFP. MI vs KXIP Preview Dream11 – Will Rohit Sharma deliver a big score?

Key to a KXIP win

KXIP have chased well in IPL 2019, so they would like the opportunity to do so again. However, regardless of this, KXIP’s top order need to overcome MI’s pace bowlers. KL Rahul, Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal were superb last time out vs MI, but the challenge will be greater this time around with Joseph and Behrendhorff on board. With the ‘M’ factor (Mayank, Mandeep and Miller) all capable, they and Sarfaraz Khan will also be key in getting to a good total.

Also, can KXIP’s bowlers cause more issues for MI’s top order? Mohammed Shami can be the key weapon that gets KXIP into the MI middle order, especially considering MI have been inconsistent with the bat. The key for R Ashwin’s team will be to build pressure on MI in the middle overs. However, the challenge will be finishing well against Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard, who are powerful hitters. Stage set for Mujeeb ur Rahman?

MI vs KXIP Preview Dream11 – Both KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have good records vs MI.

Possible Playing 11

Rohit Sharma is in doubt after apparently picking up a thigh injury in training. If this is the case, Ishan Kishan could move to opener, with Yuvraj Singh returning to the middle order. Also, Lasith Malinga is available for this game. However, Alzarri Joseph is coming off the best ever IPL figures and Jason Behrendhorff has been excellent. Malinga might have to wait his chance to get back in the team.

MI: 1. Rohit Sharma (c), 2. Quinton de Kock (wk), 3. Suryakumar Yadav, 4. Ishan Kishan, 5. Kieron Pollard, 6. Hardik Pandya, 7. Krunal Pandya, 8. Rahul Chahar, 9. Alzarri Joseph, 10. Jason Behrendhorff, 11. Jasprit Bumrah

KXIP could stick with the same team, depending on whether they persist with David Miller.

KXIP: 1. KL Rahul (wk), 2. Chris Gayle, 3. Mayank Agarwal, 4. Sarfaraz Khan, 5. David Miller/Moises Henriques, 6. Mandeep Singh, 7. Sam Curran, 8. Ravichandran Ashwin (c), 9. Mohammed Shami, 10. Mujeeb ur Rahaman, 11. Ankit Rajpoot

Dream11 Prediction

Keen for a different opinion? Check out some more key fantasy tips and picks here!

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 23, MI 12, KXIP 11.
  • At the Wankhede Stadium, both sides have won four games. It is a very tight head-to-head record.
  • MI have won six of the last eight matches when they have batted first. One loss was vs KXIP earlier this season.

Match Prediction

As the head-to-head suggests, we are set for a quality clash.

Both sides are in good touch, and have things going for them. MI’s bowling attack is looking in good touch, but much rests on the availability of skipper Rohit Sharma, who has led well. If he is out, can MI hold things together and get a win? With the depth in their side, I think so.

IPL 2019: CSK vs KKR Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: CSK vs KKR Preview Dream11 Prediction. Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders Preview Dream11 Prediction

Two of the most famous T20 franchises. Five IPL Titles between them. And now, you could easily claim either of these two will be IPL 2019 champions.

Chennai Super Kings host KKR in a blockbuster clash at Chennai. CSK got back to winning ways thanks to their spinners vs KXIP, guiding them to safety after what was a nervy partnership between KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan. However, you feel CSK’s batting can go to another level, which is a scary proposition for opposition teams. CSK still sit high up on the table, and look good to stay there with their experienced team getting the job done consistently. Will they pick up a big coup?

Kolkata Knight Riders will certainly provide CSK with a big test. Conditions in Chennai often suit the slower bowlers, and KKR have a good spin attack, which was on show in restricting RR in slow conditions on Sunday. The addition of Harry Gurney immediately improved them, conceding at less than seven an over vs RR, and then chasing the total with ease. With KKR’s top order beginning to find their groove, will they make a big statement with a win over CSK?

Key to a CSK win

The addition of Faf du Plessis proved to be a fruitful one for CSK. His half century vs KXIP gave his side crucial impetus, with Shane Watson and Suresh Raina batting a combined 44 balls for 43 runs. CSK’s top three will be tested again by spin, so Watson and Raina in particular need to raise their game to reduce pressure on those around them. Can CSK set up a strong platform, with the likes of MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav finishing well?

Also, can CSK’s spinners get the better of KKR? RR’s stuttering bowling lineup certainly wasn’t able to, so the challenge for CSK will be to dislodge what is looking a strong batting line up. Deepak Chahar up top will be key in the powerplay, and will be keen to rediscover his touch after an expensive outing vs KXIP. Scott Kuggeleijn was also expensive (but good at the death), which places onus on these two to improve further and reduce the load on the spinners. Indeed, even if they bowl well, the spinners will be crucial in stifling the KKR top order, building the pressure on Andre Russell who wasn’t even needed vs RR. Will Harbhajan Singh, Ravindra Jadeja and Imran Tahir be effective again?

Key to a KKR win

Following their miracle win in Bengaluru, KKR then followed up with a mighty efficient display in Jaipur. That their top order did the job would have been pleasing, with Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine firing as an opening pair. If they can fire again, they can throw a spanner in Dhoni’s plans, who looks to Deepak Chahar as his main powerplay weapon. Then, with Nitish Rana, Robin Uthappa and Dinesh Karthik all with runs under their belt in IPL 2019, they can set a strong platform for Andre Russell against a side that can struggle at the death.

However, the key reason for the big win vs RR was the efficiency of their bowlers. They didn’t let the Royals break free, keeping things tight on a slow track. The same is needed against a more consistent batting line up, with Harry Gurney a crucial player in backing up the work of the spinners. Can KKR create more pressure on CSK’s top order, and then back it up against Dhoni and co?

Possible Playing 11

Can’t see CSK changing from their winning combination vs KXIP. However, one option could be Sam Billings, who was man of the match in an incredible game vs KKR at Chennai last year. But, who would he come in for?

CSK: 1. Shane Watson, 2. Faf du Plessis, 3. Suresh Raina, 4. MS Dhoni (c & wk), 5. Ambati Rayudu, 6. Kedar Jadhav, 7. Scott Kuggeleijn, 8. Ravindra Jadeja, 9. Deepak Chahar, 10. Harbhajan Singh, 11. Imran Tahir

The same applies to KKR. Can’t see them changing from their combination vs RR, especially with Harry Gurney making a fine debut.

KKR: 1. Chris Lynn, 2. Sunil Narine, 3. Nitish Rana, 4. Robin Uthappa, 5. Shubman Gill, 6. Dinesh Karthik (c & wk), 7. Andre Russell, 8. Piyush Chawla, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Prasidh Krishna, 11. Harry Gurney

Key stats and points:

  • The Chennai pitch has suited spin in IPL 2019. However, with KKR possessing a good group of spinners, CSK might guard against a turner.
  • MS Dhoni vs KKR in IPL 2018: 25 (28) and 43* (25). Dinesh Karthik vs CSK in IPL 2018: 26 (25) and 45* (18). Both are very capable options, which then might come down to who bats first.
  • Shane Watson had a strong IPL 2018 vs KKR: 42 (19) and 36 (25). His overall record vs KKR is strong, scoring 416 runs at 34.67, SR 148. However, his form in IPL 2019 has been shaky. Is this his time?
  • Faf du Plessis was a welcome addition to CSK’s top order. He is coming off a 54 vs KXIP, and threatened in his last game vs KKR, making 27 (15).
  • Suresh Raina has a superb record vs KKR, averaging nearly 44 in 20 innings. However, his form this season has been ordinary, scoring 118 runs at a SR of 113.46. Big player for the big game?
  • Chris Lynn has hit some form, even despite such a lucky break vs RR. His last two scores: 43 (31) and 50 (32).
  • Sunil Narine is still short of wickets in IPL 2019, but his hitting potential at the top of the innings makes for a good pick. He was man of the match in the last game vs CSK (2/20 and 32 off 20). Andre Russell wasn’t even needed against RR, but remains a very dangerous player. He scored 88* (36) vs CSK at Chennai in IPL 2019.
  • How good was Harry Gurney on debut? A slowish pitch in Chennai could very well suit him.
  • Harbhajan Singh provides excellent value. He has taken five wickets in two games at Chennai this season.
  • Kuldeep Yadav and Piyush Chawla have each taken just three wickets in five IPL 2019 games. Room for one only with Gurney strong?

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 19, CSK 11, KKR 7.
  • CSK chased down 203 in a thriller vs KKR at Chennai in IPL 2018.
  • Both teams have won four and lost one so far in IPL 2019.
  • CSK and KKR have both won a game each against each other in the last three IPL editions.

Match Prediction

Wow, what a game this promises to be.

Two heavyweights going at it makes this a very interesting battle.

I am leaning towards a KKR win. The reason for this is that they have good players of spin in their middle order, which then sets things up for Andre Russell to target a Dwayne Bravo-less CSK line up at the death. Also, KKR can hold their own against CSK’s up-and-down top order.

Here is to a great game.

IPL 2019: KXIP vs SRH Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: KXIP vs SRH Preview Dream11 Prediction. Kings XI Punjab vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview Dream11 Prediction

The 22nd match of IPL 2019 promises to be an interesting one in Mohali. Both teams lost their respective last game, and will be looking to bounce back.

Kings XI Punjab lost out to CSK’s spinners. Their chase, after a bad start, promised plenty. However, it then fizzled out badly. The partnership between KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan was too slow in the end, failing to switch gears. They perhaps had room to be more aggressive, as they needed under 60 to win in the last five overs with eight wickets in hand. Can they bounce back, with Chris Gayle to step up against spin?

Sunrisers Hyderabad fared a lot worse in their last match, on the end of the best ever IPL figures by Alzarri Joseph. A question regarding SRH is whether the side is doing a good job, or is it just the openers? It is the latter at the moment, reminding us of KXIP last season when they failed to qualify for the playoffs despite KL Rahul having an incredible season. Their middle order now has to step up, with KXIP possessing the in-form Ashwins. Can SRH bounce back from 96 all-out?

Key to a KXIP win

KXIP, despite their promising showings so far, sit in sixth. They have an opportunity to get their season back on track with a win today. However, to do that, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have to set a platform against SRH’s in-form bowling attack. KL Rahul hasn’t had the fluency of IPL 2018, so he needs to find that today, along with Gayle succeeding against spin. With the “M” factor (Mayank, Miller and Mandeep) in decent touch, along with Sarfaraz Khan, KXIP can hope for a strong total after a strong start.

Also, there is much to like about KXIP’s bowling. The spinners are doing a fine job, led by Ravi Ashwin’s excellent return to Chennai last game. However, KXIP’s seamers – who showed promise vs DC – went the distance last game, which is something that has to improve against SRH’s strong opening combination. Can Mohammed Shami find consistency? What about Andrew Tye, who was IPL 2018’s leading wicket taker? Will KXIP, especially Ashwin and Sam Curran, get the better of SRH’s openers, exposing the middle order?

KXIP vs SRH Preview Dream11 – A day for Gayle and Rahul?

Key to a SRH win

SRH’s openers are doing a fine job. They still got the team off to a strong start vs MI, reaching 33 in the fourth over before it all went pear-shaped against Alzarri Joseph. David Warner is the current orange cap holder, with 279 runs to his name. He is followed by Bairstow, who will also be key today. However, can the SRH middle order step up? Manish Pandey continues to disappoint, and he has to deliver if given the chance, along with Yusuf Pathan. Vijay Shankar needs to start believing just how solid he is with the bat, paving the way for Mohammad Nabi to play with freedom in the final overs.

Also, can SRH’s bowlers get the better of KXIP’s openers? The battle between KXIP and SRH’s openers could decide the result. However, SRH need to take their chances, after putting down two vs MI. Indeed, even if they get the better of the KXIP openers, SRH have to be better at the death, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar still crucial in that regard. Can the men in orange bounce back from the Pollard onslaught?

Possible Playing 11

Mohammed Shami and Andrew Tye are not quite on song as a combination. Tye could possibly sit out for Hardus Viljoen or Mujeeb ur Rahman, depending on the approach KXIP wish to take.

KXIP: 1. Chris Gayle, 2. KL Rahul (wk), 3. Mayank Agarwal, 4. Sarfaraz Khan, 5. David Miller, 6. Mandeep Singh, 7. Sam Curran, 8. Ravichandran Ashwin (c), 9. Murugan Ashwin, 10. Mohammed Shami, 11. Mujeeb ur Rahman/Hardus Viljoen/Andrew Tye

Will SRH stick with Manish Pandey? Also, will Kane Williamson come back? These are key questions, but SRH could guard against changes after their first loss in four games.

SRH: 1. David Warner, 2. Jonny Bairstow (wk), 3. Vijay Shankar, 4. Manish Pandey, 5. Yusuf Pathan, 6. Deepak Hooda, 7. Mohammad Nabi, 8. Rashid Khan, 9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (c), 10. Sandeep Sharma, 11. Siddarth Kaul

Dream11 Prediction

Looking for a different opinion? Subscribe to Deekays Predictions YouTube channel.

Key stats and points:

  • There is a case for either KL Rahul or Jonny Bairstow. Bairstow is having a superb IPL 2019 (39, 45, 114, 48, 16). KL Rahul has two half centuries in his past three knocks.
  • David Warner is the top run scorer in IPL 2019. Also, he has a superb record vs KXIP: 15 innings, 668 runs, average: 47.41, SR: 145.85.
  • Who in the SRH middle order can step up if needed? Vijay Shankar at three is worth a pick as he would likely get the most time to bat. Mohammad Nabi is a good pick with his wicket taking ability.
  • Chris Gayle can have his problems against spin, but he dominated Rashid Khan in Mohali last year. He scored 104* off 63 balls.
  • Sarfaraz Khan in IPL 2019: 46*, 13, 39, 67. Mayank Agarwal is coming off two low scores (0 and 6), and has a poor record vs SRH (102 runs at an average of 14.57). Will he find the form he had earlier this year?
  • Ravichandran Ashwin has five wickets in nine games vs SRH. However, he is in good touch this IPL, having taken five wickets in his past two games. Option to Warner?
  • For batsmen who have faced at least 250 balls since IPL 2018, Manish Pandey has the worst average (22.78) and balls per boundary (10.3).
  • Rashid Khan: Four wickets in five games in IPL 2019. Is he worth the 9.5 cr price tag? With KXIP struggling for runs vs spin last game, Khan can be considered.
  • KXIP could persist with Andrew Tye, given he took 2/23 vs SRH in IPL 2018.
  • Sandeep Sharma has five wickets in his last three games. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar needs to be considered, as his record vs KXIP is excellent. He has 21 wickets in 12 games, averaging 14.62. This includes a five-wicket haul.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 12, KXIP 3, SRH 9.
  • SRH have won four of five matches vs KXIP in Mohali. However, KXIP won the most recent match between the sides at this ground, and have also won their last six at IS Bindra Stadium.
  • Interesting battle: Sandeep Sharma has dismissed Chris Gayle four times in IPL. Gayle has scored 58 runs off 54 balls vs him.

Match Prediction

There are definitely reasons why either side can win.

KXIP’s middle order, which was a weak point last season, is faring better than SRH’s. However, SRH’s top order is in great form, and their bowling attack is finding their groove.

I will pick SRH to build on their good record in Mohali and get a crucial win.

IPL 2019: RR vs KKR Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: RR vs KKR Preview Dream11 Prediction. Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders Preview Dream11 Prediction

The Andre Russell party moves to the Sawai Masingh Stadium. With the IPL 2019 table starting to take shape, including the main four favourites occupying the top four positions, games are now starting to become even more important.

Rajasthan Royals got their campaign up and running with a crucial win vs RCB. They were efficient with ball and bat, restricting Virat Kohli’s men to below 160, and then chasing it with good efficiency. However, the step up is clear, with KKR – IPL 2019’s miracle men – a chance to go top of the table. RR have to somehow keep Andre Russell quiet, as well as maintain good performance for extended periods with KKR possessing a number of other match-winners. Can RR make it two in a row after losing their first three?

Kolkata Knight Riders are indeed the miracle men. Much of that is down to Andre Russell, who plucked victory from the jaws of defeat vs SRH and RCB. This is in addition to coming so close to an incredible win in Delhi. Their win probability vs RCB, with 11 balls to go, sat at just 12%. They ended up winning with five balls to spare, showing that you have to be on your game vs KKR right until the final ball. Will KKR make it four wins from five, and go top of the table?

Key to a RR win

A big concern for RR is the economy rate of their pace bowlers. They concede 9.98 per over in IPL 2019, second only to today’s opponents. Even though KKR are worse in that area, KKR have the mighty dangerous Andre Russell who has shown he can take apart all attacks that have come his way so far. So, the key for RR is to make inroads in the powerplay, and then using their spinners, including last-game hero Shreyas Gopal to good effect in the middle overs. Can RR get the better of the KKR Indian middle order, placing pressure on Andre Russell? More importantly, can they execute well against him?

Also, it would have been pleasing for RR that their top order were in the runs vs RCB. It remains to be seen whether Sanju Samson returns today, so the onus is on the top four of Ajinkya Rahane, Jos Buttler, Steve Smith and Rahul Tripathi to set up a strong platform. Indeed, how they play KKR’s spinners will be crucial, given the men from Kolkata possess the worst economy rate among seamers (10.00) of any team in IPL 2019. Can RR take on KKR’s seamers well, and rotate effectively vs the spinners?

AP Photo/Rafiq Maqbool. RR vs KKR Preview Dream11 – Will Jos Buttler fire for RR?

Key to a KKR win

KKR’s spinners will be crucial to the result today. Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav were steady in the RCB storm a few nights ago, and all three will be key in putting pressure on the RR top and middle order. However, can the seamers hold their own? They continue to be expensive, which places pressure on the spinners and batsmen to pick up the slack. Harry Gurney, a T20 specialist, could be in line for a game today to help KKR deliver in the death overs. Can KKR pick up early wickets, particularly Jos Buttler, and then target RR’s up-and-down middle order effectively?

Also, the memo for KKR’s batsmen is to set up a platform for Andre Russell. The man is out of this world, scoring 207 runs off just 77 balls so far in IPL 2019. Chris Lynn found some form in Bengaluru, and he needs to build on it. KKR are still waiting for Sunil Narine fireworks at the top, backed up by the likes of Nitish Rana, Robin Uthappa and Dinesh Karthik. Will KKR inflict more pain on RR’s seamers, while effectively taking on the likes of Shreyas Gopal and K Gowtham?

RR vs KKR Preview Dream11 – Andre Russell is unstoppable.

Possible Playing 11

RR left out their highest paid player, Jaydev Unadkat, vs RCB. They could stick with the same team, given they won. However, this depends on Sanju Samson’s availability.

RR: 1. Jos Buttler (wk), 2. Ajinkya Rahane (c), 3. Steven Smith, 4. Rahul Tripahi, 5 Ben Stokes, 6. Stuart Binny, 7. K Gowtham, 8. Jofra Archer, 9. Varun Aaron/Jaydev Unadkat, 10. Dhawal Kulkarni, 11. Shreyas Gopal

For KKR, Harry Gurney could come in for Lockie Ferguson.

KKR: 1. Chris Lynn, 2. Sunil Narine, 3. Robin Uthappa, 4. Nitish Rana, 5. Shubman Gill, 6. Dinesh Karthik (c & wk), 7. Andre Russell, 8. Piyush Chawla, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Harry Gurney/Lockie Ferguson, 11. Prasidh Krishna

Key stats and points:

  • Jos Buttler has scored half centuries in each of his last four matches at Sawai Masingh Stadium. Dinesh Karthik is an option too, as he has over 400 runs vs RR at an average of +30. He scored 42* (23) vs RR at Jaipur in IPL 2018.
  • Chris Lynn has a poor record vs RR. He averages 17 in four games against them, but is coming off a 40+ score vs RCB.
  • Nitish Rana in IPL 2019: 63, 68, 1 and 37. He could be picked alongside Robin Uthappa, who despite his modest record vs RR (avg. 23.80), has looked in decent form in IPL 2019: 35, 67*, 11 and 33. Uthappa scored 48 at Jaipur last season.
  • Sunil Narine averages 38.71 with the ball vs RR. He took 0/48 off four overs at Jaipur last season, but scored 35 off 25. His all-round abilities still make him a solid pick.
  • Andre Russell has scored 207 runs off 77 balls in IPL 2019. With RR’s seamers struggling for control, Russell is a massive danger man.
  • Pick Ben Stokes? He has just four wickets in IPL 2019, but scored 46 in the game before last against CSK. Stokes is a decent option if RR bat first. K Gowtham is another decent option, as he took 2/23 at Jairpur vs KKR in IPL 2018.
  • Jofra Archer remains RR’s best seamer, despite going for 47 vs RCB.
  • Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav took a combined 2/41 off eight overs at Jaipur in IPL 2018.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 18, RR 9, KKR 9
  • KKR beat RR by seven wickets in their last visit to Jaipur (IPL 2018).
  • Andre Russell’s strike rate in IPL 2019: 268.83.
  • KKR will go to top of the table if they win today.

Match Prediction

RR at home is always a difficult test for the opposition.

However, RR’s bowling attack, particularly their seam attack, doesn’t inspire too much confidence. To be fair, KKR’s seamers have struggled too, but if they pick Harry Gurney, they could benefit. Plus, their spinners are good at keeping things steady. Also, the Andre Russell factor is hard to ignore, which is why I will go with KKR to get an important win.

IPL 2019: RCB vs DC Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: RCB vs DC Preview Dream11 Prediction. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals Preview Dream11 Prediction

Do-or-die for the home side before the halfway mark of IPL 2019?

It is new season, same story for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their batting has disappointed at stages in IPL 2019, but their bowling has disappointed even more. Bar Yuzvendra Chahal, no bowler is looking confident, with Tim Southee and Mohammad Siraj going the distance against KKR. Their reliance on Kohli and de Villiers, as well as year-after-year confusion over the make up of their bowling attack, continues to haunt them. With nine games to go, RCB have to win at least seven. Can they get their first today?

Delhi Capitals could very well be top of the league right now. Instead, they sit sixth. The way their middle order has performed has been poor, and except for Shreyas Iyer, no one is delivering as consistently as they should. A move away from the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium might do DC a favour, as their hard-hitting batsmen and impressive fast bowling attack might enjoy the conditions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Will they consign RCB to six defeats in IPL 2019?

Key to a RCB win

RCB, needing seven wins out of nine to qualify, are almost out of IPL 2019. However, MI recovered from the same position to win the tournament in 2014, so can RCB make a run to the playoffs?

  • With their fast bowling really struggling, RCB could be well served playing an extra spinner. The talented Washington Sundar has not been given a chance yet, and RCB could benefit from taking the pace off the ball against Delhi. A trio of Yuzvendra Chahal, Pawan Negi and Sundar?
  • Who is RCB’s big pinch hitter in the top order? Virat Kohli is a magnificent strokemaker, but so much rests on him. Same with AB de Villiers. Marcus Stoinis, who looked very good with the bat last game, should be sent to open and play with total freedom.
  • An attacking approach in the powerplay. RCB’s death bowling is nothing short of horrible, failing to execute their plans in the final overs. So, one wonders if Umesh Yadav will return today, with he and Southee to look for wickets up top. Will Kohli be inclined to attack DC’s openers and top order with a slip or two?

Of course, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, who have been excellent in Bengaluru this season, will be key again. However, can Parthiv Patel score quicker? Also, who will support Yuzvendra Chahal with the ball?

Image credit: BCCI. RCB vs DC Preview Dream11 – Kohli and de Villiers to continue their strong form at the Chinnaswamy?

Key to a DC win

DC’s side on paper is certainly not poor as some of stats show. They just haven’t been able to hold their nerve when needed. Colin Ingram has shown good form, but just hasn’t been able to finish the job. The same applies to Rishabh Pant. Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer have threatened to go really big consistently, so how well they take on responsibility will be key. Of course, amid all that, the form of Shikhar Dhawan has to improve, considering he has hit 152 runs at a modest SR of 116.92. Can DC set up a strong platform and then launch against RCB’s struggling death bowling?

Also, DC’s bowlers have shown plenty of encouraging signs in IPL 2019. Kagiso Rabada has been in fine touch, and he will be crucial at the top and at the death. But, the crucial battle will be between Sandeep Lamichhane, Rahul Tewatia and RCB’s batsmen. RCB have struggled against wristspin, and if those two are able to find some turn either way, DC could be in business. The wickets of Kohli and de Villiers will be crucial, so can DC combine well as a unit to restrict RCB at a ground where they usually score big?

Possible Playing 11

What will RCB do now? With their batting going well vs KKR, they could stick with the same order, even though they would be well served sending Stoinis up the order as a pinch hitter. However, the biggest concern is their bowling, so it remains to be seen what combination they go with.

RCB: 1. Parthiv Patel (wk), 2. Virat Kohli, 3. AB de Villiers, 4. Marcus Stoinis, 5. Moeen Ali, 6. Shivam Dube, 7. Akshdeep Nath, 8. Mohammed Siraj/Washington Sundar, 9. Tim Southee, 10. Navdeep Saini/Umesh Yadav, 11. Yuzvendra Chahal

DC could stick with the same team that had a disappointing outing against SRH. It is worth giving their batsmen a go at RCB’s struggling attack on a good batting pitch.

DC: 1. Prithvi Shaw, 2. Shikhar Dhawan, 3. Shreyas Iyer (c), 4. Rishabh Pant (wk), 5. Colin Ingram, 6. Rahul Tewatia, 7. Chris Morris, 8. Axar Patel, 9. Kagiso Rabada, 10. Ishant Sharma, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

Key stats and points:

  • Rishabh Pant against RCB’s struggling death bowling is a dangerous option (whether DC bat first or second). His scores vs RCB: 1, 57, 45, 85 and 61.
  • Shikhar Dhawan averages 48.2 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL.
  • Virat Kohli has scored 761 runs vs DC at 69.18.
  • AB de Villiers at Bengaluru this season: 70* (41) and 63 (32). He scored 90* (39) vs DC at Bengaluru last season. His overall record vs DC: 396 runs at 79.20 with SR of 174.44.
  • Shreyas Iyer in IPL 2019: 16, 18, 43, 28, 43.
  • Rahul Tewatia and Sandeep Lamichhane could be key weapons against RCB, who struggle against legspin. What impact will they have on a good Bengaluru batting pitch?
  • Kagiso Rabada has seven wickets in five matches this season.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal continues to take wickets (nine this season).

  • RCB had a win probability of 88% with 11 balls to go vs KKR.
  • Colin Ingram needs 35 runs to reach 6,000 in T20s.

Match Prediction

Despite RCB’s strong record over DC, anything can happen in this one.

I am on a streak of six correct predictions in a row, so I’m hoping RCB don’t let me down! I believe they will win this game on the back of Kohli and de Villiers, leveraging off their great record vs DC in recent years.

IPL 2019: SRH vs MI Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: SRH vs MI Preview Dream11 Prediction. Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Mumbai Indians Preview Dream11 Prediction

After Andre Russell once again proved he isn’t human, attention turns to a big Saturday of IPL action. The second game of double-header is one worthy of circling on the schedule, with a blockbuster game in store.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have gone from strength-to-strength so far in IPL 2019. David Warner and Jonny Bairstow’s lowest partnership now sits at a mere 64, and their bowlers are starting to find their groove. They choked the life out of RCB and DC in recent games, and with today’s opponents struggling a little in the middle overs, another strong bowling performance can hold SRH in fine stead. Will they make it four wins in a row?

Mumbai Indians now face one of their biggest tests so far. Their excellent win over CSK resurrected their campaign from another slow start, and they have to put on another good showing vs one of the title challengers. Hardik Pandya has been absolutely outstanding for his side with the bat, and MI’s bowlers then combined to make life very difficult for CSK. Can they do the same against the much-vaunted SRH top order? Will MI make a big statement two weeks into IPL 2019? A great match awaits.

Key to a SRH win

The addition of Jason Behrendhorff in the MI side has added another dimension to their attack. So, the battle between SRH’s in-form openers and MI’s opening bowlers can be a crucial factor in the final result. Warner and Bairstow have been outstanding in this tournament, so much so that when one of them hasn’t quite been on song (as Bairstow was vs KKR and Warner last game vs DC), the other can keep things motoring along. With SRH losing a few quick wickets when the opening stand was broken vs DC, the onus is on the openers to deliver a great start against MI’s capable attack, setting a platform for the incoming batsmen, including Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi and Yusuf Pathan, to play with freedom.

Also, can SRH’s opening bowlers outplay MI’s? MI have relied on very good powerplay and death over periods so far in IPL 2019, so if SRH can pick up Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock early, a slightly struggling middle order is exposed to the likes of Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi. To limit the impact of Hardik Pandya, SRH need to leave him with plenty to do, and land their yorkers really well. The onus is on the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul in that regard.

Image credit: Sportspicz/IPL. SRH vs MI Preview Dream11 – Will the SRH opening combination fire again?

Key to a MI win

MI’s powerplay bowling was superb vs CSK. They ripped through an experienced, proven top order to leave the champions on the mat. Jason Behrendhorff, as mentioned, has already proven to be a fine addition to the side, and he will be absolutely crucial today against SRH’s fantastic opening partnership. Jasprit Bumrah, wicketless in his last two, can combine beautifully with Behrendhorff to force SRH to try attack quality, accurate bowling early on. However, how MI follow up the powerplay period will be crucial, too. If they can target the middle order, the likes of Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya will be crucial in placing significant pressure on the SRH middle order in the absence of Lasith Malinga.

However, a big problem for MI remains their middle overs batting. Against SRH’s fine Afghan spin combination, the onus is on the middle order to be much more proactive and effective in that period. They struggled at under six an over between overs seven and 15 vs CSK, which again required Pandya to go ballistic. Can Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock deliver a strong start, which is then followed up right throughout the duration of the innings?

Image credit: VIVEK BENDRE. SRH vs MI Preview Dream11: What impact will Hardik Pandya have?

Possible Playing 11

It is incredible to think the SRH skipper and IPL 2018’s leading runscorer Kane Williamson might have to sit out. With Jonny Bairstow on board until the end of the month before he leaves for England duty, SRH could stick with the following side for balance and form.

SRH: 1. David Warner, 2. Jonny Bairstow (wk), 3. Vijay Shankar, 4. Manish Pandey, 5. Yusuf Pathan, 6. Deepak Hooda, 7. Mohammad Nabi, 8. Rashid Khan, 9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10. Sandeep Sharma, 11. Siddarth Kaul

MI have some headaches. Do they persist with both Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard? Ishan Kishan continues to sit out, and it might be time he comes in to help with MI’s middle overs problem. Also, with Lasith Malinga in Sri Lanka, MI might be forced to bring in Mitchell McClenaghan, who was dropped last game due to poor form.

Official: Alzarri Joseph and Ishan Kishan have come in.

MI: 1. Rohit Sharma, 2. Quinton de Kock (wk), 3. Suryakumar Yadav, 4. Ishan Kishan/Yuvraj Singh, 5. Kieron Pollard, 6. Hardik Pandya, 7. Krunal Pandya, 8. Mayank Markande/Rahul Chahar, 9. Jason Behrendhorff, 10. Alzarri Joseph, 11. Jasprit Bumrah

  • SRH have not lost a wicket in the powerplay so far in IPL 2019.
  • Hardik Pandya in IPL 2019: SR 204.65.
  • Mohammad Nabi: 7 IPL games. 7 wins.

Match Prediction

What a match this promises to be.

It will be a 1:30am start in Sydney, but I’ll be up for this one. MI are a quality side, but they have a few holes that they don’t seem to be plugging. Much depends on their final XI, and I am impressed. I had SRH to win earlier, but have a feeling MI will win this.

IPL 2019: CSK vs KXIP Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: CSK vs KXIP Preview Dream11 Prediction. Chennai Super Kings vs Kings XI Punjab Preview Dream11 Prediction

Preview co-written by N.S. Shekhawat

It was quite the incredible fourth game of IPL 2019 for both these sides. CSK finally lost a game, and now are back to their home ground. KXIP plucked victory from what looked like certain defeat. If you decided to switch the television off or change channels because DC were cruising too easily, no one could have blamed you. So, what does this game have in store?

Chennai Super Kings will be looking to get back in the winners circle. Mumbai is always a test for CSK, of which they weren’t able to pass last game. Their top order crumbled early again, and Dhoni wasn’t able to rescue the cause. His innings was slow, which hurt along with Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo’s slightly slow start to the tournament. However, it shouldn’t take too much gloss off what has been a strong start to their title defence, and now welcome a side looking to leapfrog them on the IPL 2019 table. Will CSK bounce back?

Kings XI Punjab have made a good start to IPL 2019, just as they did last season. They are looking more balanced, with their middle order stepping up to the cause when needed. Indeed, they stared defeat right in the face vs DC, but took a scarcely-believable 7/8 to steal victory. Led by Sam Curran, KXIP showed that they won’t give in without a fight. Those qualities have to be on show as they travel to Chennai to play the current champions. Can KXIP make a big statement?

Key to CSK win

CSK’s batting was considered a huge strength ahead of IPL 2019. However, their top order has not fired, culminating in a second collapse vs MI. Their performance was really disappointing, which puts the onus on Shane Watson and Suresh Raina to deliver a strong start. Ambati Rayudu looks completely out of form, so CSK have a significant problem there which needs addressing. Is it time for Faf du Plessis? Can MS Dhoni, who was excellent against an arguably weaker RR attack, fire against KXIP’s lineup of spinners? It will be interesting to see how CSK go against Punjab.

With the ball, CSK will be mostly pleased with proceedings. Deepak Chahar continues to showcase himself as the powerplay specialist, and with an experienced battery of spinners up Dhoni’s sleeve, CSK can look to heap pressure on KXIP’s middle order. The wickets of the top three will be key, which can then set up CSK for a good death period. CSK were good for 17 overs against MI, until some poor death bowling by Dwayne Bravo turned the momentum. Now, Bravo is out with a hamstring injury, so CSK need to hold their own at the death.

CSK vs KXIP Preview Dream11 – Will MS Dhoni lead CSK to a key win?

Key to a KXIP win

N.S. Shekhawat highlights three key things for KXIP to get right in this match:

  • Don’t allow Deepak Chahar to bowl all his four overs straight away. KXIP’s openers have to attack him, forcing Dhoni to change his strategy.
  • Rotate the strike well against the spinners. It is crucial for KXIP to not try to take 12-14 off an over. Instead, effective rotation of strike can bring in eight runs an over in the middle overs, which then sets up the death overs. With CSK’s seamers not as prolific as their spinners, a fine opportunity awaits KXIP.
  • Bat first if given the opportunity and bat well. Open with Sam Curran, as he was mighty dangerous last time out.

Also, can KXIP’s bowlers cause some more headaches for CSK? Sam Curran, who was out of this world vs DC, will be key against the CSK top order, along with Mohammed Shami. With the two Ashwins and Mujeeb ur Rahman in the ranks, any sign of turn can be taken advantage of nicely. Will KXIP continue their rise up the table?

Image credit: BCCI. CSK vs KXIP Preview Dream11 – Can Ashwin beat Dhoni?

Possible Playing 11

Ambati Rayudu has been in awful form. It remains to be seen whether CSK pick him. Also, as the Chennai pitch could suit spinners more, Harbhajan Singh could come in for Mohit Sharma. Dwayne Bravo is out for two weeks with a hamstring strain, so Scott Kuggeleijn could come in.

CSK: 1. Shane Watson, 2. Faf du Plessis/Ambati Rayudu, 3. Suresh Raina, 4. Kedar Jadhav, 5. MS Dhoni (c & wk), 6. Scott Kuggeleijn, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Deepak Chahar, 9. Shardul Thakur, 10. Harbhajan Singh, 11. Imran Tahir

With Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller and Mandeep Singh all playing well, KXIP have no reason to change their team from the last game. Chris Gayle might have to wait his turn.

KXIP: 1. KL Rahul (wk), 2. Sam Curran, 3. Mayank Agarwal, 4. Sarfaraz Khan, 5. David Miller, 6. Mandeep Singh, 7. Hardus Vilijoen/CV Varun, 8. Ravichandran Ashwin (c), 9. Murugan Ashwin, 10. Mohammed Shami, 11. Mujeeb ur Rahman

Dream11 Prediction

Opinion: Pros and cons of Dream11’s deadline time decision.

Key stats and points:

  • The M.A. Chidambaram Stadium suits spin bowlers. With KXIP possessing capable spinners themselves, CSK will likely guard against a big turner. However, it is expected to be slow.
  • Suresh Raina scored 61* (48) in his last innings vs KXIP. His record vs KXIP is outstanding, scoring 744 runs at 43.76, with a SR of 155.65.
  • Shane Watson has had a slow start to IPL 2019 (0, 44, 13, 5). Pick him if you feel it is his day. Kedar Jadhav is coming off a half century vs MI, and is worth looking at.
  • KL Rahul had a superb IPL 2018 overall, but a quiet time vs CSK (37 and 7). His start to IPL 2019 has been slow, but the battle between he and Deepak Chahar will be huge.
  • Sam Curran offers good value after such a brilliant performance vs DC. Will he go well again?
  • MS Dhoni vs KXIP in IPL 2018: 79* (44) and 16* (7). Pick MS if CSK bat first.
  • Sarfaraz Khan in IPL 2019: 46*, 13, 39. Mayank Agarwal has also looked impressive, scoring 22, 58 and 43 before his 6 vs DC.
  • Mandeep Singh is yet to be dismissed in IPL 2019: 5*, 33*, 29*.
  • Ravi Ashwin returns to CSK where he enjoyed plenty of success: 43 wickets at 19.53 (econ. 6.02).
  • Imran Tahir vs KXIP: 6 matches, 11 wickets, average: 17.82.
  • Mohammed Shami hit some form with 2/27 last game. Worth considering vs a CSK top order not at its best.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: CSK 11, KXIP 8.
  • The winner of this match will go top of the IPL 2019 table.
  • CSK never lost two games in a row in IPL 2018.

Match Prediction

The battle between the calmness of MS Dhoni and out-of-the-box approach of Ravi Ashwin should make for interesting viewing.

With KXIP getting key contributions from their middle order, N.S. Shekhawat picks them for a win at Chennai. For me, though, I think CSK will prevail thanks to their prowess at home.

IPL 2019: RCB vs KKR Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: RCB vs KKR Preview Dream11 Prediction. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders Preview Dream11 Prediction

Almost two weeks of IPL 2019 have passed (hasn’t that gone quick?), with one team already in must-win territory. With key top four contenders flexing their muscle at stages throughout the tournament so far, room for error is shrinking by the minute.

That is exactly the predicament Royal Challengers Bangalore find themselves in. Ahead of a season where fans dreamed again, RCB have been a major disappointment, losing all four games to stay rooted to the bottom of the points table. Their away record makes for dire reading, which is why a return to Bengaluru is most welcome. Can they overcome a strong KKR side to get their first win?

Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, have shown why they will be thereabouts again. Their never-say-die attitude has held them in good stead, pulling off an incredible win vs SRH and then nearly beating DC when the game was as good as gone. They currently sit in the top four having played less games than everyone else, ahead of a key period where they play three games within the next week. Can they consign RCB to further disappointment?

Key to a RCB win

Much concern was made about RCB’s bowling stocks. However, much optimism was made about their batting lineup. Disappointingly, their batting has been poor, with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers under par, in conjunction with Shimron Hetmyer suffering a terrible start to IPL 2019. Hetmyer could be replaced, but Kohli and de Villiers certainly won’t be, so the onus is on the two big guns, along with Parthiv Patel, to get RCB into a position where they can get a big total. However, can RCB finish the innings strongly? With all-rounders in their ranks, RCB need someone to play the Hardik Pandya role to have a say in this game. Will it be the case?

Also, Umesh Yadav’s struggles have hurt RCB. He was IPL 2018’s premier powerplay bowler, but has failed to replicate that form in IPL 2019. It has put RCB behind the eight ball as a result, and he must step up vs a KKR top order that is looking to fire after their poor outing vs DC. Can RCB get the better of the top order, which can then enable them to put some pressure on the dangerous Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell? Can they take their chances – an area they have been very poor in? Will Yuzvendra Chahal continue his good season, and what support will he get from the likes of Mohammad Siraj and Marcus Stoinis?

RCB vs KKR Preview Dream11 – Will it be Kohli’s day?

Key to a KKR win

KKR’s top order hold the key to unlocking more pain for RCB. Chris Lynn has been underwhelming, but he and Sunil Narine could be a fantastic opening combination against a side struggling in the powerplay. With Nitish Rana and Robin Uthappa showing good form so far in IPL 2019, and Shubman Gill due a good knock, KKR have it in them to set a platform for Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell, who put on 95 in 8.4 turn the DC game on its head. Will KKR put together the complete batting performance?

Also, RCB have struggled badly against spin. KKR have a battery of spinners to attempt to exploit those struggles. However, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium pitch is expected to be a belter for batting, which puts the onus on the bowlers to provide a good powerplay with the ball. Sunil Narine was a loss for KKR last game, and he can be a key man in keeping RCB quiet in the key early overs. With Prasidh Krishna and Lockie Ferguson enjoying some good periods so far, setting a platform for the spinners to build pressure in the middle overs is crucial for KKR. Can they get the better of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, building pressure on everyone else?

RCB vs KKR Preview Dream11 – Andre Russell is said to have overcome a shoulder injury.

Possible Playing 11

Mohammad Siraj has been one of RCB’s better bowlers in the last couple of games, so he could line up again, with Navdeep Saini to wait in the wings if Tim Southee is picked. Also, Shimron Hetmyer, bought by RCB for INR 4.2 crore, is in danger of being dropped.

RCB: 1. Marcus Stoinis, 2. Parthiv Patel (wk), 3. Virat Kohli (c), 4. AB de Villiers, 5. Shivam Dube, 6. Akshdeep Nath, 7. Washington Sundar, 8. Tim Southee/Navdeep Saini, 9. Umesh Yadav, 10. Mohammad Siraj, 11. Yuzvendra Chahal

Sunil Narine is expected to come in for Nikhil Naik for KKR.

KKR: 1. Chris Lynn, 2. Sunil Narine, 3. Nitish Rana, 4. Robin Uthappa, 5. Shubman Gill, 6. Dinesh Karthik (c & wk), 7. Andre Russell, 8. Piyush Chawla, 9. Lockie Ferguson, 10. Kuldeep Yadav, 11. Prasidh Krishna

Dream11 Prediction

Opinion: Pros and cons of Dream11’s deadline time decision.

Key stats and points:

  • Parthiv Patel has been RCB’s best batsman in IPL 2019 (138 runs in four games). Dinesh Karthik is also worth considering if KKR bat first, given his good form.
  • Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine enjoy playing against RCB. Both won a man of the match award each last season against Kohli’s team. Will Lynn finally fire in IPL 2019?
  • AB de Villiers has been out to offspin or the googly in all games this season. However, the Bangalore track should suit him, even though he averages less than 25 vs KKR. Virat Kohli averages 30 vs this opposition in IPL.
  • Both de Villiers and Kohli looked good against MI at this ground earlier this season (Kohli 46, de Villiers 70*). Kohli also scored 68* (44) vs KKR at Bengaluru last season.
  • Nitish Rana in IPL 2019: 68, 63, 1.
  • Andre Russell has been unstoppable in IPL 2019 (159 runs at SR of 248.43). He took 3/31 at Bengaluru last season, and is a key pick despite scoring a golden duck in that game.
  • Marcus Stoinis averaged over 60 when opening for Melbourne Stars in BBL 08. Will RCB go with him at the top?
  • Yuzvendra Chahal leads the IPL 2019 wicket taking list (eight wickets in four games).
  • Lockie Ferguson has been on the expensive side in IPL 2019. Kuldeep Yadav was excellent at Bengaluru last season, taking 1/20 in four overs.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-Head: Matches 22, RCB 9, KKR 13
  • KKR have won all four matches vs RCB since IPL 2017.
  • Virat Kohli needs 17 runs to reach 8,000 in T20s.
  • RCB have dropped nine of the 19 attempted catches this season.

Match Prediction

RCB at home are a different proposition. The facts support this, as they have won just four of their last 15 away from the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

However, picking them to win depends on the team they select. KKR, with a much more settled lineup and strong recent record vs RCB, start as favourites.

KKR to win.

IPL 2019: DC vs SRH Preview Dream11 Prediction

IPL 2019: DC vs SRH Preview Dream11 Prediction. Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview Dream11 Prediction

Preview co-written by N.S. Shekhawat

Yesterday, it was the battle between two of IPL’s most successful teams. Today, two exciting teams go head-to-head, with both sides sure to be motivated to get one over the other. Both teams have won two games a piece, but the journey to get there has been very different.

Delhi Capitals have shown plenty of promising signs. However, they have struggled in the crunch moments, nearly losing the unloseable vs KKR and then losing the unloseable vs KXIP. While their batting isn’t weak, they haven’t found their rhythm down the order. At the moment, this aspect of their game looks to be the worst of all teams, after losing seven wickets for eight runs to throw victory away last time out. Can they bounce back?

With Sunrisers Hyderabad back in action, eyes are surely set to be glued to TV screens. They are having a dream IPL 2019 so far, bouncing back brilliantly after a first-up loss to KKR. Their openers are just fantastic, both scoring centuries last game, en-route to three consecutive 100-plus partnerships. After the complete performance vs RCB, where they also knocked them over for 113 with Nabi taking four wickets, SRH are primed for another win. Will they do it?

Key to a DC win

DC’s bowlers have their work cut out against the strong SRH top order. Kagiso Rabada has been in fine touch in IPL 2019, and he will be key in breaking the Warner-Bairstow partnership early in the piece. His own partnership with Chris Morris will be of importance, given they combined for five wickets vs KXIP. They were able to make some inroads that night, so can they do the same tonight? Can DC ensure the likes of Sandeep Lamichhane and his spin partner(s) get a shot at SRH’s middle order as early as possible?

Also, it is no secret should have won the last game. To lose seven for eight is unacceptable. Rishabh Pant’s wicket sparked a collapse in both the KXIP and KKR matches, so he has a key role to play as finisher. The same applies to Colin Ingram, who has scored runs but hasn’t been able to complete the job. Prithvi Shaw will be a key player, along with Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer keeping the strong SRH attack at bay. Can DC’s top order deliver the goods?

Key to a SRH win

If there were issues with SRH’s batting in IPL 2018, then David Warner and Jonny Bairstow have overcome them completely. Warner has scored 254 runs at 127, along with Bairstow who has scored 198 runs at 66. SRH are now one of the most feared lineups, but can they put together another complete display today? If the likes of Kane Williamson (if available), Yusuf Pathan and Manish Pandey are needed, can they overcome DC’s attack and deliver what is needed for the team? Indeed, if Warner and Bairstow get going again, like Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell did at this ground, then watch out.

Also, it would have been pleasing for SRH that they bowled well last match. Sure, it was against struggling RCB with 231 to defend, but the efficiency in which they went about their work is cause for confidence. Rashid Khan is in great touch, going at economy of just 6.25. His Afghan teammate Mohammad Nabi is also in good touch, fresh off four wickets at an economy rate of 2.25. However, with the spinners bowling well, can SRH’s seamers hold their own at the death – a period DC struggle in? Bhuvneshwar Kumar in particular has been under par, and he has to deliver with Sandeep Sharma and Siddarth Kaul bowling pretty well.

Possible Playing 11

DC could look to bring in Amit Mishra in place of Avesh Khan

DC: 1. Prithvi Shaw, 2. Shikhar Dhawan, 3. Shreyas Iyer (c), 4. Colin Ingram, 5. Rishabh Pant (wk), 6. Hanuma Vihari, 7. Chris Morris, 8. Axar Patel, 9. Kagiso Rabada, 10. Avesh Khan/Amit Mishra, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

It will be interesting to see if Kane Williamson has overcome his injury niggle and is fit to return. If he does, Mohammad Nabi is likely to miss out, which makes SRH’s all-round stocks weaker. Nabi would certainly be unlucky if this proves to be the case.

SRH: 1. David Warner, 2. Jonny Bairstow, 3. Kane Williamson (c)/Mohammad Nabi (6), 4. Vijay Shankar, 5. Yusuf Pathan, 6. Manish Pandey, 7. Deepak Hooda, 8. Rashid Khan, 9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10. Sandeep Sharma, 11. Siddarth Kaul

Dream11 Prediction

Opinion: Did Dream11 make the right call changing the deadline time?

Key stats and points:

  • The pitch at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium is expected to be on the slower side.
  • Rishabh Pant has threatened to go big again after his amazing 78* (27) vs MI. Also, he scored a magnificent 128* (63) vs this opposition at this ground in IPL 2018. He averages 62.80 vs SRH, at a SR of 162.
  • However, how can Jonny Bairstow be ignored? He has scored 198 runs in three innings so far in IPL 2019.
  • Prithvi Shaw is coming off a golden duck, but scored a superb 99 (52) vs KKR. Also, he scored 65 (36) vs SRH last season.
  • Leaving out David Warner is a huge risk. He was IPL 2017’s top run scorer, and hasn’t missed a beat in IPL 2019 (254 runs in three matches at 127).
  • Shikhar Dhawan, who played for SRH, has never versed them. His form has been steady enough in IPL 2019 to warrant consideration (43, 51, 16, 30).
  • Shreyas Iyer has two half centuries in six innings vs SRH (190 runs in total at 38.00). Colin Ingram has been underwhelming at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium so far in IPL 2019 (scores of 2 and 10), but has looked solid enough away from home to warrant consideration.
  • Yusuf Pathan has faced just 19 balls in IPL 2019. Manish Pandey just five. The best option for SRH in the middle order is Vijay Shankar (scores of 40* and 35 in recent games). Mohammad Nabi, if picked, will be a handy option. He is coming off a four-wicket haul vs RCB.
  • Rashid Khan was man of the match in the SRH win over DC at Hyderabad last season. He was underwhelming in the match at Delhi. However, he is bowling very economically, and is threatening. A slightly turning track will suit him.
  • Siddarth Kaul is wicketless in his last two games, but had a great IPL 2018. Kagiso Rabada has six wickets in four matches so far this season.
  • Chris Morris has taken four wickets in two matches, but this will be his biggest test so far. His all-round abilities makes him one to be considered.
  • Sandeep Lamichhane has started IPL 2019 well, taking three wickets in two games.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceded 51 runs on this ground in IPL 2018. Also, he is yet to take a wicket in three matches this season. Sandeep Sharma is coming off 3/19 vs RCB.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-Head: Matches 12, DC 4, SRH 8. At Delhi, SRH have won three of four games vs DC.
  • Interestingly, SRH have won just one of their last six outside Hyderabad.
  • SRH have not lost a wicket before the 9.4 over mark in IPL 2019.
  • DC play three away games in ten days after this match.

Match Prediction

This one is another good game in prospect.

Can DC bounce back after a horrible capitulation vs KXIP? Can they get into SRH’s middle order which has barely been tested so far? They are capable, but SRH seem to have that little extra resources-wise, which is why N.S. Shekhawat and I pick a SRH win.

On a streak of two correct predictions in a row – here’s to three!
