AUS vs OMN Dream11 Prediction, Fantasy Cricket Tips, Possible XIs, Pitch and Weather Report – 2024 T20 World Cup 10th Match

After ruling both the mega ICC events in 2023, Australia will begin their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign with a game against Oman at Barbados. Being the most successful team in ODIs, they will like to replicate the same in the shortest format as well. They have managed to be crowned as champions of the T20 WC once before and are one of the strong contenders for this title as well.

On the other hand, Oman is coming from a defeat to Namibia in a super-over where they managed to defend the target of 109 notably on a sluggish pitch. As the captain said, it is going to be their chance to get highlighted all over the world, performing in this game and hence the Aqib Ilyas side will be pumped up to go out in the field.

2024 T20 World Cup 10th Match: AUS vs OMN Possible Playing XIs

Ashton Agar is a chance to feature, maybe in place of Tim David.

Australia: 1. David Warner, 2. Travis Head, 3. Mitch Marsh (c), 4. Glenn Maxwell, 5. Tim David, 6. Marcus Stoinis, 7. Matthew Wade (wk), 8. Pat Cummins, 9. Mitchell Starc, 10. Adam Zampa, 11. Josh Hazlewood

Oman: 1. Kashyap Prajapati, 2. Naseem Khushi (wk), 3. Aqib Ilyas (c), 4. Zeeshan Maqsood, 5. Khalid Kail, 6. Ayaan Khan, 7. Mohammad Nadeem, 8. Mehran Khan, 9. Shakeel Ahmad, 10. Kaleemullah, 11. Bilal Khan

Fantasy Tips for AUS vs OMN: Top picks for the 10th Match of the 2024 T20 World Cup

Top batter picks:

  • David Warner is seeking to finish his international career on a high. The 37-year-old is one of those pugnacious batters when it comes to hitting the ball over the ropes. Among Aussies, he has scored the most number of runs (157 @ 31.40) at this venue and would love to add more to it.
  • Travis Head has had a fantastic IPL where he was the leading run-scorer among overseas batters with 567 runs. The left-hander has been in tremendous form since the WTC Final’23. If not dismissed in early overs, he can hit quick runs even on a tough pitch to bat.
  • Mitchell Marsh will bat at 3 for his side and hence becomes an automatic pick for your fantasy team seeing from Australia’s perspective. Reportedly, he is not likely to bowl in the early stage of the tournament, but still adds much value to the batting order of his team. In 2024, he has scored 160 runs in five innings in T20Is.
  • Naseem Khushi is the most explosive batter from the Oman side and he can do the damage in the powerplay itself. The 41-year-old wicket-keeper, Naseem, had a good tournament at the Asian Cricket Council League where he scored 149 runs at a strike rate of 233.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Glenn Maxwell had a most forgettable IPL tournament. But the talisman still can be blindly backed to come good at any stage of the game with the quality he persists. On these pitches, he will be handy with the ball. Until today, he has not played any T20I at this venue but scored a 50 in ODI.
  • Another gentle giant of the game Marcus Stoinis can be the biggest threat for the Oman team. With his power hitting at any stage of the game and decent bowling with that golden arm, he can be the cause of worry for any team.
  • Oman’s captain Aqib Ilyas is a fantastic all-rounder and he proved this fact again at the ACC Premier League in April’24. With 12 wickets, he was the tournament’s top wicket-taker and scored 175 runs in five innings. In their initial game against Namibia, his bowling figures were 4-1-17-1.

Top bowler picks:

  • Both the fiery pacers from Australia, Mitchell Starc & Josh Hazelwood will play a vital role for their side in this WC. Both bring a special skill set to the table.
  • The pair haven’t played T20I at this venue yet but their records in ODI are quite impressive here – 14 wickets in 6 innings for Starc and 11 wickets in 4 innings for Hazelwood.
  • Bilal Khan is the most experienced bowler of Oman and is capable of taking early and crucial wickets in powerplay as well as slog overs. The left-armer scalped 10 wickets in six innings in the ACC Premier League.
  • 37-year-old medium pacer Mehran Khan from Oman had an excellent spell bowling against Namibia the other day. He conceded just 7 runs in 3 overs and scalped as many as 3 wickets in doing so.
  • Adam Zampa has a huge role to play in the bowling combination of Australia. He is the leading wicket-taker for Australia in T20Is and is just eight short of a century of wickets in this format. With his subtle changes in pace and variations, he is one of the top leggies in the world. He has to control the game in the middle overs, taking important wickets on this kind of surface.

Other players to consider for your fantasy teams…

  • Pat Cummins looked imposing with his bowling in the Sunrisers’ setup in the IPL. He managed to take 18 wickets in the season.
  • Zeeshan Maqsood is another experienced player from Oman who can turn the game up in the moments with his economic orthodox bowling as well as steady but consistent batting. A decent pick for your fantasy team.

Kensington Oval Bridgetown Barbados Pitch and Weather Report

A tricky wicket for batters is expected once again. Dry pitch with uneven bounce which will be prolific for spinners as well as bowlers with huge pace.

28 degrees celcius is the temperature. Rain could affect the game in the early stages, but clouds are forecast to clear after a while. Hence we can expect a complete match with a result.

T20 World Cup 2024 10th Match: AUS vs OMN Dream11 Prediction Today

Captaincy and Vice Captaincy Picks

  • Josh Hazlewood would be a great differential pick for leading your fantasy side. Hazlewood will maximise any help from the pitch.
  • Aqib Ilyas: If you ought to opt for a vice captain from Oman side, then it has to be Ilyas as he can contribute in both departments.
  • David Warner plays spin very well and hence becomes an automatic and safe choice for captaincy of your fantasy XI.

If the match happens, you can go with 8-3 combination in favour of AUS taking their top order batters and the fiery pacers with Zampa.

IND vs IRE Dream11 Prediction, Fantasy Cricket Tips, Possible XIs, Pitch and Weather Report – 2024 T20 World Cup 8th Match

India (IND) will start their campaign in the 8th match of the 2024 T20 World Cup against Ireland (IRE). The venue is the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, which is in the spotlight regarding the pitch and outfield.

India start as the favourites, but Ireland is known as the “Giant Killers” and are not to be taken lightly. Considering the pitches, especially the pitch here in New York, Rohit Sharma’s decision to pick four spinners is looking like a great move.

The likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal can wreak havoc in this match and then you have the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Arshdeep Singh in the pace department. Not to forget Hardik Pandya’s all-round abilities.

It will be interesting to see how the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav & Rishabh Pant will go on a very difficult surface for batting. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube and Rishabh Pant will have a task in their hands to tackle the spinners.

Ireland’s biggest challenge will be to post a good total against India’s bowling. Their top batters are not in the best of form, but they do have a bowling unit that can make life tough for any batting line-up in world cricket. The likes of Mark Adair, Josh Little & Barry McCarthy alongside Craig Young, Curtis Campher and even George Dockrell will be the key players for the Irish side.

The experienced duo of Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling must be at their best if they are to do well in this game. Harry Tector’s current form will be a headache for the team while Lorcan Tucker too hasn’t been at his best recently.

Match Details

  • 8th Match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 between India & Ireland.
  • Time: 10:30 AM (Local) & 8:00 PM (IST).
  • Venue: Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

2024 T20 World Cup 8th Match: IND vs IRE Possible Playing XIs

India: 1. Rohit Sharma (c), 2. Virat Kohli, 3. Rishabh Pant (wk), 4. Suryakumar Yadav, 5. Shivam Dube, 6. Hardik Pandya, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Axar Patel, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Jasprit Bumrah, 11. Arshdeep Singh/Mohammad Siraj

Ireland: 1. Andy Balbirnie, 2. Paul Stirling (c), 3. Lorcan Tucker (wk), 4. Harry Tector, 5. Curtis Campher, 6. George Dockrell, 7. Gareth Delaney, 8. Mark Adair, 9. Barry McCarthy/Graham Hume, 10. Joshua Little, 11. Craig Young/Ben White

Fantasy Cricket Tips for the 8th Match of the T20 World Cup: Top Dream11 Picks for IND vs IRE

Top Batter Picks:

  • Virat Kohli: Virat Kohli is coming off an exceptional IPL season and he’s India’s main man with the bat in the T20 World Cups. He is expected to open the innings which is his best place and will be a no brainer in your fantasy teams.
  • Rohit Sharma: Indian skipper is another must-pick in your fantasy teams. He averages 74.50 against Ireland at a strike-rate of 138 including two fifties in three innings. He has looked to take on the bowling in recent times and is known for scoring big scores when he gets going.
  • Rishabh Pant: Rishabh Pant looked in sublime touch in the practice game against Bangladesh. He was in good form in IPL 2024 as well. Pant is expected to bat at three which makes him a very valuable pick from fantasy point of view.
  • Suryakumar Yadav: Suryakumar Yadav is amongst the best T20 batters in world cricket. He is capable of winning games from any situation on his own. His recent form has been hot and cold but he is a good player of spin bowling and a key batter for India in the middle order.

Top All-Rounder Picks:

  • Ravindra Jadeja: Ravindra Jadeja can go through any batting unit if the pitch continues to behave the way it has in the first game in New York. He is amongst the best left-arm spinners in world cricket and can be India’s best bowler in this game. Try him as C/VC in GLs/Mini GLs.
  • Mark Adair: Mark Adair will lead Ireland’s bowling attack and he is more than handy with the bat in hand. He can cause troubles for the Indian batters and is a very important player for his side.
  • Axar Patel: Axar Patel is another bowler who will love bowling on the pitch at New York. He is expected to play this game and it will be a tough ask for the Irish batters to counter his bowling. A top pick for your fantasy teams.
  • Hardik Pandya: Hardik Pandya brings a lot of value with both bat and ball in your fantasy teams. He may not contribute a lot with the bat but is expected to bowl at least couple of overs and can pick up a wicket or two easily. Pandya looked in good touch in the practice match against Bangladesh.

Top Bowler Picks:

  • Jasprit Bumrah: I don’t think I need to explain why you must pick Jasprit Bumrah in your fantasy teams. He is the best pacer in world cricket, can bowl in any phase and a proven match-winner.
  • Kuldeep Yadav: Kuldeep Yadav will love the conditions in New York. He picks up wickets in clusters on his day and will fancy his chances in this match.
  • Josh Little: Josh Little has grown immensely in the last couple of years. He will be a key bowler for his team and can trouble the Indian openers with his left-arm angle on a pitch which has something for the bowlers with the new ball.

Other Players to consider in your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Curtis Campher: Camphor will bowl 2-3 overs and will bat in the middle overs. He has been in decent form recently and can be a top differential pick for this match.
  • Arshdeep Singh: Arshdeep Singh will bowl with the new ball and can pick up a couple of wickets upfront in the powerplay. He will be an excellent differential pick for this game irrespective of the toss.

Nassau County International Cricket Stadium New York Pitch Report & Weather

Run scoring will be very difficult and the batters will have to work hard on this pitch. The pitch is expected to be two-paced and there will be plenty of assistance for the pacers with the new ball. Spinners will love bowling here as there will be grip and turn off the pitch. Teams may prefer chasing but batting first won’t be a bad option at all.

Humidity will be around 70-80% during the match time. The temperature will be around 22-24 degrees Celsius with no chance of rain.

Why are Sri Lanka unhappy with their travel schedule?

Sri Lanka endured a difficult start to their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign, losing by six wickets to South Africa after being bowled out for 77 on a difficult New York pitch. And, it doesn’t get any easier for the Lions, with a terrible travel schedule making life quite difficult.

Matches at four different venues, tight schedules and delayed flights have made the USA experience unbearable for the Sri Lankan team. They had to rush their media commitments after the South Africa match because they had to get back to their Brooklyn hotel, pack their bags, check out, and make their way to a 6pm flight to Dallas.

Worse, the Brooklyn hotel was an hour-and-a-half away.

Travel schedule so unfair on Sri Lanka – Maheesh Theekshana

Spinner Maheesh Theekshana shedded light on the challenges. “So unfair for us, we have to leave every day [after the match] because we are playing [at] four different venues,” he was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

“It’s unfair. The flight we took from Florida, from Miami, we had to wait like eight hours in the airport to get the flight. And we came around. We were supposed to leave at 8pm but we got the flight at 5am. It’s really unfair for us, but it doesn’t matter when you play [on the field].”

Theekshana also confirmed that Sri Lanka had to cancel their match-eve training session due to the travel.

“Yeah, that’s why,” he said. “Because even from the hotel, it’s one hour and 40 minutes. Even today [match day], we had to wake up around 5am to come here.”

“I can’t say the names of the teams that have got the opportunity to stay in the same place but their hotel is only 14 minutes to the ground. Ours was like one hour and 40 minutes,” he continued.

According to reports, Ireland and South Africa also suffered disruptions in their travel from Florida to New York. As a result, the ICC has come in for criticism.

Sri Lanka’s next game, against Bangladesh, is now a must-win. They will have some time to prepare for that match as it is set to take place on Friday night.

There is history between the two nations, with the latest being the Angelo Mathews-Shakib Al Hasan timed-out drama in the 50-over World Cup last year. So, anything is possible.

ENG vs SCO Dream11 Prediction, Possible XIs, Fantasy Cricket Tips, Pitch and Weather Report – 2024 T20 World Cup 6th Match

Defending champions England (ENG) will be challenged by Scotland (SCO) in the 6th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. England will start as the favourites but count Scotland out on your own risk.

It will be the first T20I match between the two sides but Scotland has had their say against England in ODI cricket. They’ll look to replicate the same in this game as well. The Scottish players will be determined to do well in this match. The onus will be on the likes of Mark Watt, Michael Leask, Chris Sole, Richie Berrington and the others to do so.

England, meanwhile, are amongst the top contenders for this tournament and the Jos Buttler-led side will look to kickstart their campaign with a win in the first game. The likes of Buttler, Salt, Jacks will be the key batters for the side alongside Harry Brook & Jonny Bairstow. Jofra Archer will lead the bowling attack and all eyes will be on him considering his luck with injuries throughout his career.

2024 T20 World Cup 6th Match: ENG vs SCO Possible Playing XIs

England: 1. Jos Buttler (c & wk), 2. Phil Salt, 3. Will Jacks, 4. Jonny Bairstow, 5. Harry Brook, 6. Liam Livingstone, 7. Moeen Ali, 8. Sam Curran, 9. Jofra Archer, 10. Chris Jordan, 11. Adil Rashid

Scotland: 1. George Munsey, 2. Charlie Tear, 3. Brandon McMullen, 4. Richie Berrington (c), 5. Matthew Cross (wk), 6. Michael Leask, 7. Chris Greaves, 8. Mark Watt, 9. Chris Sole, 10. Brad Wheal, 11. Bradley Currie/Safyaan Sharif

Fantasy Cricket Tips for the 6th Match of the T20 World Cup: Top Dream11 Picks for ENG vs SCO

Top Batter Picks:

  • Jos Buttler: Jos Buttler is coming off a good IPL and was in excellent touch in the recent series against Pakistan. He scored 39 & 84 in the two games against Pakistan.
  • Buttler will be a top pick for this game and an excellent C/VC option as well, especially if England bats first.
  • Phil Salt: Another English opener who had an excellent IPL, Phil Salt will look to continue his good form in the T20 World Cup. He looks to attack from ball one and can take the game away from the opposition in just a few overs.
  • Will Jacks: Will Jacks too had a great IPL playing for RCB. He also likes to take the attack to the bowlers and will be an important batter for his team.

Top All-Rounder Picks:

  • Sam Curran: Sam Curran adds value with both bat and the ball. He will bowl in the key overs for his side and is more than capable with the bat. A must-pick in your fantasy teams. Curran had a solid IPL with both bat and ball.
  • Liam Livingstone: Jos Buttler trusted Livingstone with the ball quite a bit in the last series against Pakistan. He bowls both off-spin and leg-spin and can chip in a with a wicket or two in the middle overs as the conditions at Barbados will aid the spinners. Not to forget his brute strength with the bat.
  • Moeen Ali: Moeen Ali will also bowl 2-3 overs, especially against George Munsey at the top. If he picks up Munsey in the first two overs then he is expected to bowl atleast one more. There isn’t a lot of value from Moeen with the bat but you never know in the game of cricket.

Top Bowler Picks:

  • Jofra Archer: Jofra Archer was bowling consistently at 145+ which makes him a must have in your teams. He can pick up wickets in clusters and help you fetch plenty of points in fantasy cricket.
  • Adil Rashid: Adil Rashid will be England’s lead spinner. He is a wily bowler and a genuine wicket-taker. He can trouble Scotland’s middle order and don’t be surprised if he picks up 2-3 wickets in this match.
  • Chris Jordan: Chris Jordan is England’s death overs specialist. A top captaincy pick if they are bowling first. He nails his yorkers and has excellent change-ups in his arsenal. Jordan fields at the hot-spots so expect a couple of catches from him on any given day.
  • Mark Watt: England’s batting unit is vulnerable to left-arm orthodox which we saw against Imad Wasim in the last series against Pakistan. Mark Watt becomes an excellent differential pick considering his versatility bowl in any phase of the game and don’t the forget the homework he does before every game.

Other Players to consider in your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Chris Sole: Chris Sole is Scotland’s key pacer and will be an excellent pick if Scotland is bowling first. He will bowl two overs towards the end and can pick up a wicket or two.
  • Chris Greaves: Chris Greaves is expected to bowl his full quota considering England’s right-hand heavy batting and he’s handy with the bat as well. 15-20 runs and a wicket is what we need from him in fantasy cricket. Try him in GLs/Mini GLs.

Kensington Oval Bridgetown Barbados Pitch Report & Weather

The first game at this venue saw plenty of assistance for the spinners and bowlers who use cutters and slower-deliveries. There was ample help for the pacers with the new ball. Run-scoring was demanding and the batters will have to settle in before playing their shots.

Spinners, death bowlers and all-rounders will be very important in your fantasy teams. Death bowlers will be good C/VC picks for this match.

It will be quite humid and there is 50-60% chances of rain during the game time. The temperature will be around 29 degrees Celsius.

Reactions to New York pitch: Fans slam surface, outfield in SL vs SA match

The writing was on the wall in New York when a Marco Jansen delivery reared off the pitch and past Pathum Nissanka, which was taken well above head height by Quinton de Kock. Pace and bounce was expected on the surface for the Sri Lanka-South Africa clash, but the pitch has come for criticism after it heavily favoured the bowlers.

The Sri Lankans could muster only 77, blown away by the force of South Africa’s pace brigade, led by Anrich Nortje’s 4/7. In response, the Proteas found the going challenging as well, reaching the very modest target with 22 balls and six wickets to spare.

According to ESPNcricinfo, ten drop-in pitches were brought in for the World Cup in New York. Four were installed at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, while the other six were placed in a training facility 20 minutes away. There has been plenty of spice in the surfaces, causing widespread reaction among fans and players.

Nortje didn’t mind the conditions, stating that bowlers deserve a chance. Heinrich Klaasen, on the other hand, said “I don’t think it’s ideal for T20 cricket, but it’s still a good entertaining game.

“The margin for error for the bowlers is also not as big as you think. It’s not easy for the batters. It took like almost a mixture of Test cricket, one-day, batting-wise to get over the line. Luckily we didn’t chase 120. That would’ve been very interesting.”

Reactions to the New York pitch: Fans have their say

Criticism of the pitch and outfield:

Fans took to social media to express their displeasure at not only the New York pitch, but also the slow, sand-based outfield. It has certainly made for different viewing compared to the very high-scoring matches in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).

In fact, there were 127 dot balls, the most ever in a men’s T20 World Cup match. It surpassed the 123 set by Namibia and Oman a day earlier.

Harsha Bhogle led the chorus, tweeting “Not sure this is the best introduction to cricket in a new land.”

In support of such pitches:

There were fans in support of the conditions. Their belief, which is a valid one, is that batters shouldn’t have it their own way all the time.

The next match on this ground will be between India and Ireland on Wednesday morning New York time.

India and Pakistan will meet on Sunday morning, June 9, at 10:30am New York time. Before then, Canada and Ireland will play on Friday June 7 followed by Netherlands and South Africa on June 8.

Why I fear the 2024 T20 World Cup will go over the heads of many fans in Australia

Australia are the current 50-over World Cup champions. They are also the reigning World Test champions. Three years ago, the men’s team lifted the T20 World Cup for the first time.

Such a period of success should, in theory, generate greater awareness of another trophy that Australia could add to its impressive cabinet. However, the 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup runs the risk of going over the heads of many in Australia, with no matches available on either free-to-air (FTA) television or Foxtel/Kayo – two channels which fans have become very accustomed to in this country.

T20 World Cup fully behind paywall runs risk of abandonment

Prime Video, owned by Amazon, won the rights to broadcast all ICC events until 2027. As announced in its news release, this includes men’s and women’s T20 World Cups, ODI World Cups, World Test Championship final, Champions Trophy, and U19 World Cups.

“Prime Video has worked to create a single destination for audiences to find new movies, live sports, and their favourite TV shows. We are always looking for ways to deliver more value to our customers and live sports is consistently one of their top requests,” said Hushidar Kharas, head of Prime Video Australia and New Zealand.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer our customers the live broadcast of the Cricket World Cup included in their Prime membership.”

Another streaming service can catch fans off-guard. To watch the Australian team, supporters will have to pay for Foxtel/Kayo as well as Amazon Prime (if they are not eligible for the 30-day free trial). This is in addition to the fact that home ODIs and T20Is are not on FTA television in the summer.

Channel 7 CEO James Warburton was one of the FTA television bosses to demand stronger anti-siphoning laws. Speaking in a Senate inquiry in Canberra, Warburton said, “Live sporting moments bring our nation together and must remain free and accessible to everyone regardless of their income.”

T20 World Cup up against a lot of sporting competitors in the Australia winter

While fans can take advantage of a free Amazon Prime trial, such a broadcasting landscape makes it more difficult for the casual fan to know which sport is on which platform. It can make for a ratings disaster given how Australians typically consume sports. Fans down-under are very seasonal, with winter associated with footy while December-February is cricket time.

To encourage fans to watch cricket in the winter months requires much better than another paywall on another streaming platform.

The tournament is taking place smack-bang in the middle of the NRL and AFL football seasons. State of Origin is set to kick off, which dominates the sporting news in New South Wales and Queensland.

If the World Cup was on Fox Cricket, fans could switch from Fox League and Fox Footy to catch at least the highlights if live action is too challenging given the timezone differences. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Also, the Euros and Copa America football tournaments will garner a lot of the attention. As a result, the International Cricket Council (ICC), who accepted Amazon’s offer, runs the risk of reducing a World Cup to a mere periphery in one of its major nations.

Too many World Cups?

The 2024 T20 World Cup is the fourth “World Cup” since the start of 2021. There was a T20 edition in both 2021 (UAE) and 2022 (Australia), followed by the 2023 50-over World Cup in India.

It begs the question of whether the frequency of such tournaments reduces its novelty. So, during last year’s ODI tournament, we asked fans what their thoughts were on this matter.

Nearly 5,000 fans worldwide took part in the future of cricket survey. 52% of respondents believe that white-ball ICC events are too often an occurrence, compared to 41.9% who believe it’s right the way it is. Just 6.1% responded that there should be more. Read about the results here.

Of course, there is the argument that Associate nations get more exposure in such events. However, is that true? This hasn’t really been the case until this year. Before this T20 World Cup, Associate nations had to play an additional qualifying round to make the Super 12s stage. And, we all know about the ten-team ODI World Cups.

I only hope that Australia’s push for another ICC trophy is one that fans are aware of. Perhaps attention will be greater once the Super 8 stage begins, but the fact is many fans will be getting their updates from social media feeds rather than more easily accessible broadcasts.

Those broadcasts should always be a given when Australia competes in a world event.

  • Naveen-ul-Haq scalped 14 wickets in 10 innings in the recent IPL and is looking in good rhythm with the ball. Along with him, Gulbadin Naib is another player to watch out for the Afghanistan side who performed fantastically in the recently played warm-up game with the bat (69 off 30) and ball (1/5).
  • Brother of Simon Ssesazi, Henry Ssenyondo, left-arm orthodox, performed well in the warmup game against Namibia with bowling figures of 3-14-2.

All the sides are capable of defeating any team in the group on their day. Thus, each side must be at their best and they can’t afford to take anything for granted. This game has a lot of promise as both sides have plenty of quality players and it’s going to be a mouth-watering contest for us cricket fans.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for the 4th Match of the T20 World Cup: Top Dream11 Picks for SL vs SA

Top Batter Picks:

  • Reeza Hendricks: Reeza Hendricks will be the best pick in your fantasy teams from the batters section. He is a good player of spin bowling and has been in exceptional form lately. His last five T20 scores are: 6, 34, 87, 73*, 2.
  • Hendricks has 322 runs in nine innings against Sri Lanka at an average of 46 and has struck at 124.30 including three fifties to his name.
  • Heinrich Klaasen: Heinrich Klaasen will be the a key batter for his team as he’s arguably the best spin hitter in the world at the moment. Sri Lanka’s bowling attack will depend quite a lot on their spinners.
  • His match-up against the likes of Hasaranga, Theekshana & Wellalage (if plays) can decide the course of this game.
  • Kusal Mendis: Kusal Mendis averages a mere 2.4 in six T20Is against the Proteas but he will be a key player for his team at the top and is a top pick for this game.
  • Mendis scored an exceptional century in the 2023 ODI World Cup against South Africa and will look to take inspiration from that innings and win this game for his side.

Top All-Rounder Picks:

  • Aiden Markam: Aiden Markam will bat at 3 for his team and may bowl an over or two if the situation demands. He has an average record against Sri Lanka in T20Is – 106 runs in five innings at an average of 26.5 @119.10 and has picked up four wickets as well.
  • Wanindu Hasaranga: Wanindu Hasaranga is a very popular pick for this game. His batting value has increased since he has started leading the team and we all know how capable he is with the ball in hand. Hasaranga will be a must-have in your fantasy teams.
  • Marco Jansen: The only warm-up game played in New York saw plenty of bounce for the bowlers and there was some movement on offer as well. Marco Jansen with his height and style of bowling perfectly suits the conditions. He will be an excellent pick as well.

Top Bowler Picks:

  • Kagiso Rabada: Kagiso Rabada will be the lead pacer for the Proteas and he can pick up 2-3 wickets on his day without breaking a sweat. He has five wickets in six T20Is against Sri Lanka but the conditions are expected to suit him and he’ll be a top pick.
  • Matheesha Pathirana: Matheesha Pathirana has grown immensely as a bowler compared to his initial days. He bowls 150 km/h consistently and has gained more control over his action and bowling.
  • Pathirana can pick wickets in clusters when on song and will be a must-pick, especially, if Sri Lanka bowls first. He can take wickets at the death.
  • Gerald Coetzee: Another hit the deck bowler who will love the conditions at New York. Gerald Coetzee does go for runs but he has that knack for picking up wickets which makes him an excellent pick in fantasy cricket. He can pick 2-3 wickets and help you win big in this game.

Other Players to consider in your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Angelo Mathews: Angelo Mathews will bowl 2 overs with the new ball and will bat in the lower middle order. You can try him in GLs/Mini GLs if Sri Lanka bats first.
  • Dilshan Madushanka: Dilshan Madushanka will be a key bowler for his team as he will bowl in the powerplay and then towards the end of the innings. He can swing the new ball and will be a great match-up against Quinton de Kock.
  • Tabraiz Shamsi: Tabraiz Shamsi will be another good pick for this game. He is a genuine wicket-taker and can pick up a few wickets explpoiting the big dimensions of the venue.

Nassau County International Cricket Stadium New York Pitch Report & Weather

From what we saw in the warm-up game between India and Bangladesh, it won’t be a high scoring venue. The sand-based outfield here is a little slow and the big dimensions makes it a bit difficult for the batters to clear the ropes.

The pitch was a bit two-paced with extra bounce on offer for the pacers. There will be some help with the new ball and the spinners also get something off the deck. All-rounders and death bowlers will be important from fantasy perspective.

It’s expected to be a pleasant day for a game of cricket with no chance of rain and no real heat or humidity. The temperature is expected to be around 22-27 degrees Celsius.

Heartwarming photo of Mitch Marsh with the Uganda team shows what cricket is all about

Australia captain Mitch Marsh and opener David Warner caught up with the Uganda team ahead of their respective opening matches in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The two posed with Ugandan cricketers in Trinidad and each received a Uganda jersey. According to cricket.com.au, the members of the Australian squad who were present signed the jersey and returned it to the Ugandan team.

Special moment to meet the Uganda team – Mitch Marsh

“That was a really special moment,” said Marsh to reporters in Barbados. “It’s things like that – it’s not just about the cricket throughout these World Cups. It’s about opportunity and teams having earnt the right to be here.”

Uganda booked their ticket to the T20 World Cup thanks to a magnificent Qualifying campaign late last year. It included a superb victory over the more fancied Zimbabwe, who ended up missing qualification as a result of the defeat.

In that game, Uganda restricted Zimbabwe to 136/7. They chased down the total with five wickets and five balls to spare to spark wild celebrations. They then went on to beat Nigeria, Kenya and Rwanda to seal their qualification along with Namibia from the African nations.

Uganda will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against Afghanistan in Group C. They should take heart from the way Papua New Guinea fought against the fancied West Indies in the same group.

For Australia, they play Oman in their tournament opener in Barbados on Wednesday night. They are still gathering squad members given a number of them just finished up in the recent IPL.

“Things may look a little bit disjointed at the beginning, and I think most teams are in the same boat with guys that are playing the IPL,” said Marsh.

“That’s the nature of the beast of international cricket these days, we come from all over. We’ll get around each other for the next few days.”

According to cricket.com.au, the likes of Pat Cummins, Travis Head and Mitchell Starc spent a few days at home after the IPL Final before making the trip over to the Caribbean.

NAM vs OMN Dream11 Prediction, Fantasy Cricket Tips, Possible XIs, Pitch and Weather Report – 2024 T20 World Cup 3rd Match

The 3rd match of the 2024 T20 World Cup sees Namibia come up against Oman in an important Group B clash. With Australia and England clear favourites to qualify to the Super 8s, this match is vital for both sides to get the win so they enter those tough games with a shot at an upset qualification.

In the last edition of the World Cup, Namibia beat Sri Lanka in the tournament opener in Geelong. Before that, they qualified for the main round in the UAE. There is plenty of talent in their ranks, and they will want to find their feet right away.

Oman won’t be pushovers, though. They have experience in their ranks with the likes of Zeeshan Maqsood and Bilal Khan expected to play crucial roles. If they can lead the way, anything is possible.

Earlier this year, Namibia beat Oman 3-2 in a tightly-fought series.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for the 3rd Match of the T20 World Cup: Top Dream11 Picks for NAM vs OMN

Top batter picks:

  • JP Kotze: The hard-hitting batsman came out of retirement in 2022 and is a priority pick in the wicket-keeping slot as he is expected to bat high up the order.
  • Kotze scored the most runs in the NAM-OMN series earlier in 2024. He struck 160 runs at an average of 32.00 and strike rate of 125.98.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Ilyas has the second-most runs ever for Oman (1,176) and has 23 wickets as well.
  • Zeeshan Maqsood: Oman have strong all-round options for fantasy cricket and Maqsood is one of them. He missed out against Namibia earlier this year, but he has the most runs overall for Oman (1,295) and second-most wickets (55).
  • Gerhard Erasmus: The Namibian captain is one of their reliable players. He hit two fifties in five matches against Oman earlier this year. He also took eight wickets.
  • The duo of Jan Frylinck and David Wiese will have key roles to play for Namibia. Frylinck has been batting higher up the order which offers fantasy value. Wiese has the finisher role and comes into this game off the back of 2/8 off three overs against PNG in a warm-up.

Top bowler picks:

  • Bernard Scholtz: In conditions that may suit spin, back Scholtz to keep things tight and potentially pick up a wicket or two. He took seven wickets in five matches against Oman in their 2024 series (econ. 6.23).
  • Bilal Khan: The seamer is the only Oman bowler with at least 50 T20I wickets. In fact, he is way out in front with 106 scalps, including four in three games against Namibia.

Other Players to consider in your Fantasy Cricket Teams…

  • Fayyaz Butt: The seamer has dismissed Gerhard Erasmus twice in 24 balls in T20Is (28 runs).
  • JJ Smit: Listed as a batter in Dream11, Smit has not bowled in white-ball internationals since February. He was listed in the middle order in the warm up against Australia, so he may have the finisher role here.
  • Kashyap Prajapati: The Oman opener suffered some poor form in T20Is during April, including just 55 runs in three games against Namibia. But, he spent some time at the crease for his 35 in the warm-up against Afghanistan.
