MI vs KKR Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2024 51st Match | MI vs KKR Dream11 Prediction Today Match | Wankhede Pitch Report

Kolkata Knight Riders have not beaten Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in 12 years. There is no better time than now to end that losing streak, with MI struggling in ninth place with just three wins in IPL 2024.

According to , KKR start as favourites. It’s now or never for MI. They sit six points outside the top four and need to win every game to finish on 14, which may not be enough in itself. But they need to give themselves a chance.

The key is not losing too many wickets in the powerplay which they have often done so this season. Also, they need to find ways to keep a powerful KKR lineup in check, which is easier said than done given their reliance on Jasprit Bumrah.

SRH vs RR Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2024 50th Match

SRH vs RR Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2024 50th Match | SRH vs RR Dream11 Prediction Today | Hyderabad Pitch Report

Rajasthan Royals have conceded just one 200+ total this season. Sunrisers Hyderabad have set records. It is a fantastic matchup in store, with lots of stake for SRH as they can move back into the top four.

The challenge for SRH, however, is not only the quality RR attack. Whether they can chase well if required is a question they need to answer. But, if they get going, even a side as strong as RR will have to scramble to keep them in check.

On the other side, Sanju Samson’s team continues to soar. They have won eight of their nine games, with contributions right throughout their lineup. A win away in Hyderabad will boost confidence further.

IPL 2024 50th Match: SRH vs RR Possible Playing XIs

  • Klaasen vs Yuzvendra Chahal in all T20s: 41 balls, 93 runs, three dismissals.

CSK vs PBKS Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2024 49th Match

CSK vs PBKS Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2024 49th Match | CHE vs PBKS Dream11 Prediction | Chepauk Pitch Report

The past week has been about the outsiders dominating favourites in many of the respective games. Punjab Kings bettered KKR in a high scoring game where they registered the highest ever T20 run chase led by terrific knocks of Prabhsimran, Bairstow and Shashank; that too they chased down with 8 balls to spare.

Hence, the playoff qualification doors for them are still open. But, they need to win all five games, including a very difficult away trip to Chennai Super Kings. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side is relaxing in 4th position with three wins needed for qualification. CSK outplayed mighty SRH in the last clash, with Gaikwad himself in outstanding touch.

The Kings’ battle is all set to take place at the den of Super Kings, MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai where they have won 71.21 % of total matches played.

IPL 2024 49th Match: CSK vs PBKS Possible Playing XIs

Chennai Super Kings: 1. Ajinkya Rahane, 2. Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), 3. Daryl Mitchell (OS), 4. Moeen Ali (OS), 5. Shivam Dube, 6. MS Dhoni (wk), 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Shardul Thakur, 9. Deepak Chahar, 10. Deepak Chahar, 11. Mustafizur Rahman (OS), 12. Matheesha Pathirana (OS)

Punjab Kings: 1. Prabhsimran Singh, 2. Jonny Bairstow (OS), 3. Rilee Rossouw (OS), 4. Sam Curran (OS), 5. Jitesh Sharma (wk), 6. Shashank Singh, 7. Ashutosh Sharma, 8. Harpreet Brar, 9. Harshal Patel, 10. Kagiso Rabada (OS), 11. Arshdeep Singh, 12. Rahul Chahar

Fantasy Cricket Tips for CSK vs PBKS: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Chennai Super Kings:

  • Ruturaj Gaikwad is in magnificent form. The CSK captain has hit 67*, 69, 17, 108* and 98 in his last five games.
  • Daryl Mitchell played a fantastic knock of 52 (32) in the last game and has made 198 runs this season so far. If he gets going, he can really do a big damage to the opposition bowling lineup with his powerful down the ground strokes.
  • With a well made 350 runs at 58.33 with a SR of 172, Shivam Dube is having a good time this IPL. He has been hitting cleanly, especially against the spinners he’s been the monster. From the last IPL, he is averaging over 65 against the spinners striking at 170. Against PBKS, he stikes at 151.
  • Dube vs Harshal : 26 runs off 16 balls with 0 dismissal.
  • MS Dhoni averages 47 and strikes at 150 while playing against Punjab franchise. This season he is having a dream run as the savior has scored 96 runs in 37 balls without getting dismissed.
  • Dhoni vs Sam Curran: 38 runs off 17 balls with 0 dismissal.
  • Mustafizur Rahman is the top wicket taker for CSK this season with 14 wickets to his bag playing one game short. He’s been excellent with his variations across the lines. Against PBKS, his economy is 7.20 with 4 wickets to his name.
  • 21 years old fellow Matheesha Pathirana has been one of the most impressive emerging players in this season too. He has scalped as many as 13 wickets playing just nine games.

Punjab Kings:

  • Prabhsimran Singh played a crucial and quick knock of 54 (20) after which he was unlucky to get run out. Setting tempo at the beginning would be his job and motive as an opener. Against CSK, he has played just a single game where he scored 42 (24).
  • The English menace, Jonny Bairstow is back in form with a terrifying century in the last game. In Shikhar’s absence, if Punjab has to do well, Jonny has to bat long. Playing at Chennai, his average is 42. But he averages just 19.4 against CSK in six innings.
  • Former CSK player and Punjab Captain Sam Curran is looking in decent form with the bat and ball as well. With 152 runs and 12 wickets, he is leading his side quite well. Against CSK he has four wickets in three games thus far.
  • Rahul Chahar often does well while playing at Chepauk as the leggie has 12 wickets in 8 innings at this venue. Against CSK, he has 10 wickets in 11 innings.
  • He has dismissed Dhoni twice in 30 balls conceding just 17 runs.
  • Even if CSK gets through the top order of PBKS easily, they would have to face the duo of Shashank and Ashutosh who are consistently striking over 180. Shashank Singh is the top run scorer for his side so far with 263 runs.

Other Stats, Facts & Matchups

  • Ajinkya Rahane hasn’t been at his best in the last few games. He would hope to make a strong comeback in upcoming games where he can give a high flying start to his side. Against Punjab he has 467 runs at an average of 33.4.
  • Kagiso Rabada vs Ruturaj Gaikwad in T20s: 48 balls, 56 runs, three dismissals.
  • Ruturaj vs Arshdeep: 37 runs off 34 balls with 2 dismissals.
  • Man in form, Ruturaj Gaikwad averages 29.4 and strikes at 104 against Punjab.
  • For CSK this season, 9 wickets have been taken by spinners whereas pacers have managed to get 44.
  • Bairstow vs Jadeja: 20 runs off 22 balls with 1 dismissal.

MA Chidambaram Stadium Chepauk Pitch Report and Weather

187.6 is the average first innings score at the Chepauk this year and it’s huge in context with the previous years where the number never went past 172. This suggests that, like the ongoing trend in IPL, this is again going to be runs, runs and runs. In the last game, there was so much dew which forced umpires to change the ball. The toss-winning captain would probably go for a chase here.

The weather is again expected to be referred to as “excessive heat” at the Chepauk.

Why is Jake Fraser-McGurk not in Australia’s T20 World Cup squad?

Cricket News: A look at why Australia opted to leave Jake Fraser-McGurk out of the initial 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup

Young gun Jake Fraser-McGurk has been left out of Australia’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The move may come as a surprise to many given Fraser-McGurk’s incredible form over the past eight months, which includes the fastest-ever List A century and 259 runs from his first six IPL matches at a strike rate of 233.33.

However, Australia opted for experience in the initial 15-man squad. The tournament will be David Warner’s farewell from international cricket, while all-rounders Cameron Green, Marcus Stoinis and captain Mitch Marsh have all been selected.

Australia’s squad for the T20 World Cup: No Jake Fraser-McGurk

Mitch Marsh (c), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa.

The call to leave Fraser-McGurk out is sure to split opinion. The 22-year-old has been outstanding, but his lack of experience on the kind of slow pitches expected in the West Indies and USA, plus Australia’s top order options, have ultimately resulted in the selectors opting for more seasoned players.

George Bailey, chair of the selection panel, mentioned the fact that Fraser-McGurk is yet to play a T20 International. Also, Bailey is unsure of Fraser-McGurk’s middle order credentials.

“His [McGurk] form’s been great of late, and that’s fantastic, but the way we’re functioning at the top of the order with the three guys we’ve had there has been really strong as well.

“I’m not sure how much work he’s done in other positions, but it certainly looks like the top of the order is where he’s best suited,” Bailey said.

The chairman of selectors also spoke of other players who were strongly considered. Australia, like other teams, do have the option of changing their squad in the next few weeks should a need arise.

“Steve Smith, Matt Short, Jason Behrendorff, Aaron Hardie, Spencer Johnson and Xavier Bartlett were all part of long conversations, along with several others including Jake Fraser-McGurk, who is yet to play T20 International cricket but continues to impress and is developing rapidly.”

“Being constrained to a squad of 15 for World Cups is always a challenge given the different scenarios and options we’d like to cover,” he continued. “We will continue monitoring several players who have missed out on this preliminary squad and note that if we wish to change this squad, we have the option to do so over the coming weeks in accordance with ICC regulations.

“Ultimately the balance of the final 15 needs to provide the best chance of being successful in this campaign.”

Australia’s T20 World Cup campaign will kick off against Oman in Barbados on June 5. Also in Australia’s group are England, Namibia, and Scotland. The top two teams will advance through to the Super Eight stage.

KKR vs DC Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2024 47th Match

KKR vs DC Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2024 47th Match | KKR vs DC Dream11 Prediction Today | Eden Gardens Pitch Report

Another mammoth total coming up in this crazy edition of the IPL? It is certainly shaping up that way. Not only is Eden Gardens a batting paradise, but both Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals are smashing huge totals.

Last time out, Punjab made a mockery of KKR’s 261. Delhi, courtesy of Jake Fraser-McGurk’s whirlwind 84 off 27 balls, slammed 257/4 against MI. All signs are pointing to more runs, so it’s on the bowlers to hold their own as best as they can.

In terms of the IPL 2024 points table, this is a crucial match. DC can actually overtake KKR on points with a win here, which is vital for Rishabh Pant’s team as this is already their 11th match. KKR’s strong net run rate of 0.972 – the best in the league – puts them in second but need to keep winning with four other teams on 10.

IPL 2024 47th Match: KKR vs DC Possible Playing XIs

Mitchell Starc may return after missing the PBKS match due to a finger injury. For DC, David Warner (finger) and Ishant Sharma (back spasms) are unavailable. Prithvi Shaw may return after illness.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 1. Phil Salt (OS), 2. Sunil Narine (OS), 3. Angkrish Raghuvanshi, 4. Shreyas Iyer (c), 5. Venkatesh Iyer, 6. Rinku Singh, 7. Andre Russell (OS), 8. Ramandeep Singh, 9. Dushmantha Chameera/Mitchell Starc (OS), 10. Varun Chakravarthy, 11. Harshit Rana 12. Anukul Roy/Suyash Sharma

Delhi Capitals: 1. Prithvi Shaw/Abishek Porel, 2. Jake Fraser-McGurk (OS), 3. Shai Hope (OS), 4. Rishabh Pant (c & wk), 5. Tristan Stubbs (OS), 6. Abishek Porel/Kumar Kushagra, 7. Axar Patel, 8. Kuldeep Yadav, 9. Lizaad Williams (OS), 10. Mukesh Kumar, 11. Khaleel Ahmed, 12. Rasikh Salam

Fantasy Cricket Tips for KKR vs DC: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Kolkata Knight Riders:

  • Sunil Narine continues to amaze. Not only has he smashed 357 runs this season at a strike rate of 184.02, but he is conceding just 6.96 per over.

  • Fraser-McGurk is striking at 252.08 in the powerplay and 237.50 overall this season.
  • Rishabh Pant is DC’s leading run-scorer this season (371) with a strike rate of 160.60. Tristan Stubbs is next with 273 at a magnificent strike rate of 192.25.
  • Pant has smashed 52 off 24 against Andre Russell in the IPL. However, Russell has dismissed him thrice.
  • Khaleel Ahmed has dismissed Sunil Narine twice in 16 balls (26 runs). This is a matchup DC will be hoping goes their way today.
  • Another matchup is Kuldeep Yadav vs. Andre Russell. Kuldeep has conceded just four in 10 balls against him, with one dismissal.
  • Kuldeep also has the fourth-most wickets of any bowler in T20s at Eden Gardens: 22 inns, 24 wickets, SR 19.58.

Runs, runs, and more runs. 220 has been breached in each of the last three games, with KKR’s 223 chased by RR and 261 chased by PBKS in extraordinary fashion. In the other match, RCB fell short of KKR’s 222 by just one run.

Expect another batting paradise in very hot conditions with dew likely in the second innings.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have shown great signs of fight as they bettered Sunrisers and were just short of a run against Knight Riders in their previous two games. However, they are still placed at the base of the points table with just a couple of wins out of nine games. One of the most loved teams would hope to continue their momentum and win something more than just hearts here.

On the other hand, Gujrat Titans are coming with a loss in their last game to DC where they almost got to the mark. The promising Ashish Nehra side has looked mediocre at times this season with four wins in nine games. With the playoffs doors still open, they have got a lot to play for in this game as well.

The exuberance of batters this season is climbing up day by day as the tournament passes. We are all set for another batting masterclass at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, if the surface isn’t too conducive to spin.

IPL 2024 45th Match: GT vs RCB Possible Playing XIs

Fantasy Cricket Tips for GT vs RCB: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Gujarat Titans:

  • Shubman Gill makes life difficult for the bowlers when it comes to Ahmedabad. He’s got 833 runs here with an average of 64 and strike rate 159. Against RCB, he averages 41 and strikes at 149.
  • Gill vs Siraj : 55 runs, 33 balls, 0 dismissal.
  • The silent warrior of GT, Sai Sudharsan is the top run scorer for his side with 334 runs thus far. He has eight 30+ scores in nine games this season. At Ahmedabad, he averages 46.
  • Rashid Khan is having a decent season as an allrounder. The talisman has already won a game for his side with his batting and fell just short while repeating that masterclass. With the ball, he has 15 scalps against RCB thus far.
  • In T20s, Rashid has been successful to send both Faf and DK back to the dugout thrice in 45 and 29 balls respectively.
  • R Sai Kishore can be a differential fantasy pick. He was introduced in bowling very late in the last game but his left arm spin is a work of art with an uncanny accuracy. He took four wickets against PBKS and can be a threat to RCB batting lineup who have tradition to collapse against a left arm orthodox bowlers.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru:

  • RCB legend Virat Kohli has scored 430 runs this season and is the current Orange Cap holder. 101, 73, 58 are his scores against GT, and no doubt he will again go all guns blazing at them.
  • Rajat Patidar’s approach in last two games hasn’t been about just the runs but is about shifting momentum of game towards his side. 50( 20) & 52 (23) are his scores in the last two games where he showed marvelous hitting.
  • Against GT, he has played just one game before wherein he smashed 52 (32).
  • Cameron Green is doing a fine job since his return into the XI. Ahmedabad is one of his favorite Indian stadiums where he has smashed a Test hundred. In T20s, he has scored 63 here averaging 31.5. With the ball, he is second highest wicket taker for his side with 6 scalps this season.
  • If Glenn Maxwell gets a game here he will surely look to make it count. He has a SR of 204 and average of 42 playing against GT.
  • Mohammed Siraj hasn’t been at his best recently but on his day, he becomes unplayable. RCB management and fans are waiting for that day to come. He has taken five wickets in this season.
  • Miller vs Siraj: Runs 3, Balls 6, Dismissal 2.

Other Stats, Facts & Matchups

  • Head to head: Matches 3, GT 2, RCB 1.

Narendra Modi Ahmedabad Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch at Ahmedabad has behaved differently in the four games played here. Average first innings score here is 155 and chasing teams have won three out of four games.

The ball is expected to grip and hence help spinners in the later half. Hot weather is expected with the temperature of 36+. Captain winning the toss might like to break the trend and choose to bat first in a warm pre-evening time.

CSK vs SRH Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report for 46th Match of IPL 2024

CSK vs SRH Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Fantasy Cricket Tips: 46th Match of IPL 2024 | CHE vs SRH Dream11 Prediction Today | Chepauk Pitch Report

Match 46 of IPL 2024 is crucial. Chennai Super Kings have lost their past two games and sit outside the top four. They are two points behind third-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad, who themselves are seeking a return to winning ways after falling short against RCB a few days ago.

The way this match transpires may ultimately depend on the pitch. If it’s the kind of surface we’ve often seen at Chepauk this season, expect a run-fest. Such an encounter makes SRH very difficult to contend with, so we may very well see a slower surface should CSK see that as their best chance of victory.

There are lots of matchups to look forward to. The plethora of 250+ scores is always a chance of continuing in a game such as this, but both teams have some quality bowlers to turn to. This one should be a cracking game indeed.

IPL 2024 46th Match: CSK vs SRH Possible Playing XIs

CSK could retain the same XII. For SRH, Glenn Phillips is an option for Aiden Markram.

Chennai Super Kings: 1. Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), 2. Ajinkya Rahane, 3. Daryl Mitchell/Rachin Ravindra (OS), 4. Ravindra Jadeja, 5. Shivam Dube, 6. Moeen Ali (OS), 7. MS Dhoni (wk), 8. Deepak Chahar, 9. Tushar Deshpande, 10. Mustafizur Rahman (OS), 11. Matheesha Pathirana (OS), 12. Shardul Thakur

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 1. Travis Head (OS), 2. Abhishek Sharma, 3. Aiden Markram/Glenn Phillips (OS), 4. Heinrich Klaasen (wk, OS), 5. Abdul Samad, 6. Nitish Kumar Reddy, 7. Shahbaz Ahmed, 8. Pat Cummins (c, OS), 9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10. Jaydev Unadkat, 11. Mayank Markande, 12. T Natarajan

Fantasy Cricket Tips for CSK vs SRH: Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Chennai Super Kings:

  • Ruturaj Gaikwad is fresh off a magnificent century on this ground in the last game against LSG. The CSK captain has excellent numbers against SRH: 6 inns, 296 runs, avg. 49.33, SR 145.81.
  • Ravindra Jadeja averages 30+ with the bat against SRH. However, he has just eight wickets in 20 innings against them. He did take 3/22 against them last season.
  • Jadeja will be vital against SRH’s hard-hitting middle order. He has overall figures of 1/31 off 25 balls against Aiden Markram in T20s.
  • Shivam Dube continues to fire. He will be key once again. His 311 runs this season come at a strike rate of 169.94, including 34 off 15 balls against legspin.
  • Can Deepak Chahar break the dangerous SRH opening stand early? He has dismissed Abhishek Sharma twice in eight balls (16 runs).
  • Matheesha Pathirana is striking every 10.90 deliveries this season (11 wickets). Mustafizur Rahman is CSK’s leading wicket-taker in IPL 2024 with 12.

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

  • If Travis Head gets going, watch out. He has struck 325 runs in IPL 2024 at an extraordinary strike rate of 212.41.
  • Abhishek Sharma is not far behind with 288 runs at a strike rate of 218.18. He smashed 37 off 12 balls against CSK earlier this season.
  • Heinrich Klaasen strikes at just 100 in three matches vs CSK (34 runs). In a game where spin could play a vital role, Klaasen will be key with his strike rate of 211.5 against the spinners in all T20s this year.
  • If the pitch is on the slower side, watch out for Pat Cummins’ cutters into the pitch. The SRH captain has taken at least one wicket in seven of the eight matches so far in IPL 2024.
  • T Natarajan is SRH’s leading wicket-taker this season (12). He has also picked up nine wickets in five innings overall against CSK, including Ruturaj Gaikwad twice in 21 balls (34 runs).

Other Stats, Facts & Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 21, CSK 15, SRH 6.
  • CSK have won all four matches against SRH at Chepauk.
  • CSK could try Moeen Ali with his offspin in the powerplay. RCB’s Will Jacks dismissed Travis Head early in the last match.
  • Shardul Thakur has dismissed Heinrich Klaasen twice in 11 balls in the IPL (16 runs).
  • Aiden Markram struck a 36-ball 50 against CSK earlier this season.

MA Chidambaram Stadium Chepauk Pitch Report and Weather

It will be fascinating to see how the pitch plays. A flat surface plays into SRH’s hands, so there is a possibility of the kind of slow wicket we saw in the CSK-KKR game earlier in IPL 2024.

200 has been breached three times in for games this season. If the pitch is true, expect another high-scoring game. Another warm and clear evening is forecast.

Debate! Are fans enjoying the high scoring matches in IPL 2024?

Cricket News: IPL 2024 has been filled with high scoring matches with boundaries galore. But, are fans enjoying them?

Before the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), debates were rife on which teams will make the playoffs and who will go on to win the title.

Fast forward to late April, and debates have shifted to the huge totals. From 2008 to 2022, there was only one 250+ score. Since the start of 2023, there have been nine, including Delhi’s 257/4 barely hours after Punjab Kings sealed an extraordinary chase of 262 with 10 balls to spare in Kolkata thanks to wonderful batting by Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Shashank Singh.

The 2024 edition of the IPL has been like no other. Records have tumbled one after the other. The match between KKR and PBKS saw 42 sixes, the most ever in any T20 match. The previous highest was 38 by MI and SRH last month, as well as RCB and SRH just last week.

Also, the 523 runs in total was the second-highest ever in T20s. The highest? 549 between RCB and SRH in Bengaluru earlier this season where the hosts made a measly 262 in response to Hyderabad’s 287.

The key issue here is should there be more of a balance in terms of the pitches? Is the impact player rule skewing things too much in favour of the batters? Is it better to have the odd high-scoring game instead of one seemingly every day?

Debate: What do fans think of the high scoring matches in IPL 2024?

These questions are cause for debates on social media, with arguments for and against the big totals. Here is a look at both. Which side are you on?

Arguments against plethora of regular huge totals

Those against the glut of run-fests believe there needs to be more of a balance. Thrilling contests where both parties can have a say make for the most memorable ones. Also, fans are calling for the impact player rule to be removed next season.

“Sixes were cool and exciting because they were rare. But when every ball is going into the stands, it becomes boring,” one fan tweeted. “Maybe I’m not the right audience, but for me there’s no fun watching 250 games everyday.”

Arguments in favour of high-scoring matches

Those in favour of the high-scoring matches believe entertainment is the main ingredient in the IPL and T20 as a whole. Also, the argument is that bowlers need to find ways to adapt. Case in point is the likes of Sunil Narine and Jasprit Bumrah still performing brilliantly.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their must-win match last night. Now, it’s Punjab Kings’ turn to do the same. Their past five matches have gone down to the final over, but crucially they have only been able to win one. They have lost four in a row and desperately need a turnaround if they are any chance of making a run to the playoffs.

It certainly won’t be an easy task today. They face high-flying Kolkata Knight Riders who can consolidate a top-two spot with victory here. Last time, they held on by the skin of their teeth to beat RCB by one run in a high-scoring encounter, so the spotlight is on the bowlers, especially Mitchell Starc, to ask more questions of the opposition lineup.

SRH vs RCB Twitter Reactions – Bengaluru finally end winning drought

SRH vs RCB Twitter Reactions – Bengaluru finally end winning drought | RCB beat SRH to break six-game losing drought in IPL 2024

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hammered a record 287 just 10 days ago at the M Chinnaswamy, soon before smashing 125 in the powerplay alone in Delhi. So, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had to bat first if they won the toss to give themselves the best chance of breaking their six-game drought.

That they did. Headlined by the talented Rajat Patidar’s 20-ball 50 and Cameron Green’s 20-ball 37*, RCB hit 206/7 to hand the test over to SRH. Despite a very fast start from Abhishek Sharma, Faf du Plessis’ team prevailed after picking up four wickets in the powerplay and six inside 10 overs to pretty much end SRH’s challenge in this contest.

Captain du Plessis labelled it as a “massive relief” as the team has “shown great signs of fight” in the last two games.

“The SRH game was 270-plus and we got to 260, then the KKR game as well, just one run. It was almost a record chase,” du Plessis said.

“We’ve been close for a while but you need to win matches to get confidence back in the group. It’s a massive relief. No matter where we are, when you’re not winning it does affect you, it does affect you mentally, it does affect your confidence. I will sleep a bit easier tonight.”

SRH vs RCB Twitter Reactions – Excellent Rajat Patidar leads Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win

The victory keeps their very slim playoff hopes alive, while SRH missed the opportunity to consolidate their top four spot. The memes and analyses were aplenty as RCB finally picked up a win.

Virat Kohli criticised for his 43-ball 51, Rajat Patidar praised for his match-changing knock

The debate around Virat Kohli’s T20 batting went up a notch. The opener started very well in the powerplay, hitting 23 off his first 11 balls. However, he then scored just 28 off his next 32 balls in a period that saw RCB slow down significantly after Rajat Patidar’s fine 20-ball 50 came to an end.

In the final analysis, RCB’s comfortable win is the most important thing. However, fans were quick to criticise the innings, particularly during the RCB innings.

Next up for SRH is a trip to Chennai to play CSK on Sunday. RCB play on the same day in Ahmedabad against the Gujarat Titans.
