NZ vs PAK 2nd T20I Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | NZ vs PAK 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | New Zealand vs Pakistan 1st T20 Key Players | Hamilton Pitch Report

This tour was turning out to be a nightmare for Pakistan Team and to make things worse they put a horror show with the bat against a fairly young New Zealand side in the first T20I at Eden Park.

Pakistan will look to bounce back in the series but that won’t be easy as New Zealand is boosted with the return of the Black Caps Skipper Kane Williamson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson. Also in their last outing at Seddon Park, which was in 2015, the visitors were hammered by 10 Wickets.

NZ vs PAK 2nd T20I Preview Dream11: Improved day for Pakistan?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

New Zealand:

  • Tim Siefert – After an average series against West Indies, the Black Caps Dasher was back at this very best and showed why he is rated highly by taking the onus on himself to perform when the host lost 2 early wickets in a crucial run chase and getting New Zealand a very well deserved win.
  • Martin Guptill – The Big Man loves playing at Sedon Park and averages 60.90 at his venue and will look forward to back among the runs after missing out in the first T20I. He also played a brilliant knock of 87 not out against Pakistan when the two sides met here last time in 2015.
  • Trent Boult – After an impressive IPL performance by the Mumbai Indians this will be the first T20I assignment for the New Zealand summer and he would love to carry forward his T20 form. His inclusions in the playing 11 will a boost for the Black Caps.

Pakistan:

  • Mohammad Hafeez – The Professor who is also the most experienced T20 batsman looked disappointed after scoring a duck in the first T20I and would be keen to score some big runs and help the team to bounce back in the series.
  • Shadab Khan – Shadab Khan played a brilliant knock of 42 when Pakistan was reeling at 39/5. The Stand in Captain would like to chip in with both bat and the ball to bring smiles back at the Pakistani Camp.
  • Haris Rauf – The Pakistani Speedster was at his very best in the first T20I and claimed his best performance in the T20I so far. This performance should come as a morale boost for the tall pace bowler when he was struggling to make a mark at the International stage.

Possible Playing 11

New Zealand:

Jacob Duffy, Mark Chapman, Doug Bracwell and Blair Tickner make way for Kane Williamson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson in the T20 Squad.

Martin Guptill, Tim Seifert (WK), Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Kane Williamson (C), James Neesham, Ish Sodhi, Scott Kuggelejin, Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson, Trent Boult.

Pakistan:

Pakistan can make changes in the opening pair but as they dont have enough option in the squad we are going with the same one.

Abdullah Shafique, Haider Ali, Mohammad Hafeez,Shadab Khan(C), Khushdil Shah, Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Haris Rauf, Wahab Riaz, Shaheen Shah Afridi

Seddon Park Hamilton Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch at Seddon Park will support the batsmen. 180 is what the team batting first should have in mind.

Dream11 Prediction

Grand League Dream11 Picks

  • Imad Wasim – Imad Wasim looked decent with the bat but bowled only 2 overs at Eden Park as conditions were well suited for seamers. The Pakistan All-Rounder will be a very good GL Pick especially when 4 out of 5 batsmen in the New Zealand Top Order are Right Handed.
  • Shaheen Shah Afridi – The Pakistani Left Arm Seamer looked impressive in defending a below par score at Eden Park and would like to continue his form and get Pakistan a win. He will be very good VC choice if Pakistani bowls first.
  • Kyle Jamieson – It raised several eyebrows when former Black Caps Pace Bowler Shane Bond, who is also the bowling coach at Mumbai Indians said they will be closely looking at Jamieson performance. The Young Gun would be very keen to put up a show and help New Zealand win the series and also grab an IPL contract especially when there are 2 Consecutive T20 World Cups.
  • Mohammad Rizwan – Pakistani Wicket Keeper has been under the pump for his T20 batting and was also not given a place in Karachi Kings, one of the teams in Pakistan Super League. He would love to up the ante and make a place for him in the International side which  will also make him very good GL Pick.

Grand League Team Option:

Tim Siefert, Devon Convay, Martin Guptill (C) , Haider Ali, Scott Kuggeleijn, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Mohd. Hafeez (VC), Trent Boult, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi

Twitter reactions to India’s lowest ever Test score

Twitter reactions to India’s lowest ever Test score | Twitter reactions to India’s extraordinary 36-all out in the Adelaide Test vs Australia | India’s lowest ever Test score

Think about the 2018/19 Adelaide Test for a moment.

India mustered a score of 250, which was nearly matched this time around (244). Australia, like in 2018/19, didn’t bat as best they could, and conceded a first innings lead. So, with India only one down heading into day three of the 2020 Adelaide Test, with the chance to bat in bathing sunshine, a realistic hope for Australian fans would be to try restrict India to the 250 mark, as opposed to 300+ in 2018/19.

But, no one could have imagined what was to come.

In an hour-and-a-half of pure chaos, records were tumbling, but for the wrong reasons for India. Their score of 36 is their lowest ever, beating their previous effort of 42 against England way back in 1974. Also, it is the equal-fifth lowest score overall, lowest of any team since New Zealand’s 26 back in 1955 and lowest ever at the Adelaide Oval.

Twitter went into meltdown, with some scathing criticism of the Indian team. However, one can’t take credit away from the Australians, who bowled with discipline and venom in equal measure in a remarkable assault on the outside edge of India’s batsmen. It was an exhibition. Pace bowling of the highest quality. The Australians found the edge of the Indian batsmen with such regularity because of how regularly they hit the perfect length.

Josh Hazlewood, who took his 200th Test wicket, finished with an incredible 5/8. Pat Cummins, who took his 150th, took 4/21. Carnage.

Hazlewood and Cummins achieve milestones – praise for Australia’s bowlers

So, where do India go from here? They have exactly one week to figure out how to bounce back from such a horror day. They’ll have to do so without Virat Kohli, who will be out for the remainder of the series to be with his wife for the birth of their first child. Also, Mohammed Shami suffered an ugly blow on the arm, and had to retire hurt.

For Australia, they are on the way to avenging for the loss in 2018/19. It was a superb bowling display, after what was a sub-par batting performance in the first innings. They’ll be looking for a 2-0 series lead in Melbourne.

Zimbabwe to host ICC World Cup qualifiers in 2023 | Like in 2018, Zimbabwe will host the ODI World Cup qualifiers in 2023

The ICC has rescheduled the 2020 event calender as most the series got affected by Covid-19 pandemic. Going by the latest pathway, Zimbabwe will host ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in 2023 between June 18 to July 9. India along with other seven top teams will qualify directly in the tournament that will be held in October-November.

ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley said, “When we rescheduled the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 to October and November 2023 it enabled us to extend the window for qualification events to take place and thereby ensure we maximize the opportunity for qualification to be decided on the field of play. We have worked very closely with Members and stakeholders to reschedule 96 ODIs and 60 List-A matches and will continue to maintain the safety of participants in our events as our highest priority.”

According to the new schedule, the World Cup League 2 ODIs will begin on March 19 next year with Oman playing host to USA and Nepal in a series of six ODIs. “There will be 96 ODIs played across the 14 series that are scheduled to be played in 2021 and 2022 respectively and the remaining two in early 2023,” the ICC said.

The League A matches will be held between August 15 to 28 next year with Canada hosting Denmark, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore and Vanuatu for 15 matches in all.

“The final Challenge League B event has been scheduled for February 2022 and A for September 2022, with 60 List-A matches due to be played. The bottom four teams will drop into the Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-Off 2023 – which is a repechage event to the Global Qualifier – and will be joined by the winner of Challenge League A and B. The top two teams from the Play-Off – which has also been rescheduled to 2023 – will keep their hopes alive of participating in India 2023, by qualifying for the Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023”, the governing body said.

South African domestic season on hold due to rise of Covid-19

South African domestic season on hold due to rise of Covid-19 | South Africa cricket dealing with rise in COVID-19 cases within camps

A fresh wave of Covid-19 cases has engulfed the South African team as most of their squad members were part of two domestic games between Titans vs Dolphins as well as Lions vs Knights.

In the games involved, Rassie van der Dussen, Beuran Hendricks, Wiaan Mulder, Migael Pretorius, Aiden Markram, Dean Elgar, Lungi Ngidi, Keshav Maharaj, Sarel Erwee, and Keegan Petersen are members of the South Africa Test squad. There has been no official confirmation of whether any of the 10 are infected or were in close contact with those who are infected. However, going by the latest media reports, only Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, Temba Bavuma, Anrich Nortje, Kyle Verreynne, and Glenton Stuurman are confirmed as available for the first Test against Sri Lanka that starts on December 26.

It all started after the first-day match between Dolphins and Titans when a Dolphins player tested positive. It was followed by the second match in a clash between Lions and Knights when a Lions player tested positive on day three. All the squad players who shared close contact with them have put under the scanner and are monitored.

Reportedly, South Africa is facing the second wave of pandemic and the infection rate has increased tremendously. During the England series as well, two of the England cricketers developed the symptoms and tested positive (which was then a false positive) due to which three ODIs were postponed.

Mark Waugh backs Steve Smith for captaincy, Shane Warne differs

Mark Waugh backs Steve Smith for captaincy, Shane Warne differs | Mark Waugh said that Steve Smith should captain again

Mark Waugh has voiced his opinion about Steve Smith and feels he deserves a second run as the skipper of the Australian cricket team. The star batsman was heading the team before the ball-tampering incident in South Africa and was sentenced to a two-year captaincy ban. His return this year has played a significant role in the team and his romance with the bat is still as heated as it was before.

In an interview with Fox Sports’ Heavy Roller Podcast, Waugh said that Smith has a great cricketing brain and his experience of leading the side in the past also could be beneficial. “I would have made Steve Smith captain. He is one of the best players on the team, so he is always going to be picked in the team. Plus he has captained Australia for a number of years. He’s got a great cricket brain and I think he is a leader, so why not?”, he said very frankly to the host.

After multiple injuries in the team, there were talks of giving back the captaincy to Smith in the upcoming Test matches against India. In the second T20I, Matthew Wade was made the stand-in skipper as Aaron Finch injured himself in the first game. “I know a lot of people say why should he captain again? But hang on the crime has been paid for as minor as I thought it was,” Waugh said. “He’s paid his penance there, so he gets back to the captain. I think he is a pretty good captain.”

However, spin legend Shane Warne totally differs from Waugh’s opinion and feels Smith’s time as captain is up and he should focus more on his runs for the country. “I wouldn’t (make him captain), I think Steve Smith has had his time. I would go with someone else as captain. Steve Smith, we want to bat and bat,” Warne said. “I think we just let him bat and play. His time has been. It has got nothing to do with the issues in South Africa for me. I just think it is time for someone else”, he added.

BBL 10 Match 10: HUR vs REN Preview Dream11 Possible 11 Pitch Report

BBL 10 Match 10: HUR vs REN Preview Dream11 Possible 11 Pitch Report | HUR vs REN Dream11 Prediction Today | Hurricanes vs Renegades Key Players | Bellerive Oval Pitch Report

After a break of a couple of days, the Big Bash League is back as the Melbourne Renegades meet the home side, Hobart Hurricanes, at the Bellerive Oval as both the teams aim to return back to winning ways after defeats in their previous games.

Hobart Hurricanes began the tournament with victories over Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers at the very same venue of Bellerive Oval. In the following game, which was a reverse fixture against the Strikers, the Hobart Hurricanes lost by a margin of 5 wickets as Peter Siddle picked a 5-wicket haul while Weatherald and Carey scored fifties.

The Renegades were at the receiving end of the worst defeat in BBL history in the previous game as they lost by 145 runs against the Sixers. The Aaron Finch-led side were bowled out for a paltry total of 60 and they would have to forget the game as early as possible. Unfortunately, the news doesn’t get better as Aaron Finch will take a break from this game due to bubble fatigue, which increases pressure on the batsmen. Finch will be back on December 26.

The management will hope that the last defeat isn’t a start of another horrid run like the last season where they lost nine consecutive games which hampered their season. They’ll be looking to bounce back, and fast.

BBL 10 Match 10: HUR vs REN Preview Dream11 – Shaun Marsh will be key.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Hobart Hurricanes:

  • Ben McDermott loves playing against the Renegades. He has struck 326 runs against them at a superb average of 108.67. He scored 51* and 38* against them last season.
  • Colin Ingram has scored the most runs in the BBL so far with 123 runs in 3 innings.
  • Tim David has the best strike by a Hurricanes batsman as he has scored at an SR of 168 while also averaging 51. He has scored the most runs in the death overs. Both he and Ingram have thrived against anything pitched full and the Renegades have to alter their lengths if they have to top the duo.
  • D’Arcy Short has a middling record against the Renegades. Can he improve on his 142 runs at an average of 28.40? The opener has had a bit of a slow start to BBL 10 with scores of 0, 72 and 2 so far.
  • Riley Meredith was player of the match vs Renegades on this ground last season. He took 3/26. Nathan Ellis also enjoyed success in the same game with 3/15.
  • James Faulkner has picked 4 wickets with the new ball and has an economy rate of under 6 in the powerplay.

Melbourne Renegades:

  • Shaun Marsh is also vital for the men in red. He made scores of 37 (30) and 56 (30) against the Hurricanes last season. He scored 62 against the Scorchers at Bellerive Oval earlier this season.
  • Beau Webster struck a half-century in his last game against the Hurricanes, last season.
  • Kane Richardson has taken six wickets in four games vs Hurricanes. Can he make inroads into the opposition top order?
  • Mohammad Nabi is back, which is a huge boost for the Renegades. Nabi smashed 63 off 30 balls in his last innings against the Hurricanes.

Stats and Facts

  • The head-to-head record is pretty even as the Melbourne outfit has won 6 games while their opponents have won 5. But the Hurricanes have triumphed in each of their last 3 encounters.
  • Shaun Marsh is the Renegades’ leading run-scorer in BBL 10, with 75. Finch is next with 47, followed by Rilee Russouw with just 17.
  • Ingram has a strike rate of just 89 in the powerplay , which zooms to 160 in the middle overs. Short has a strike rate of 186 in the middle overs.
  • At the Bellerive Oval, the Renegades last won against the home side way back in December 2017.
  • Both the teams are averaging around 14 against pace and that’s been their weakness so far.

Possible Playing 11s

Keemo Paul has been named in the Hurricanes’ 14-man squad.

NZ pacer Lockie Ferguson suffers from partial stress injury

NZ pacer Lockie Ferguson suffers from partial stress injury | Lockie Ferguson out for four-six weeks with stress injury in spine

New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson has been injured with a partial stress fracture on his lumbar spine. After his back injury during the West Indies T20I series, this is his second injury due to which he will stay out of the Auckland Aces in the Super Smash. Grey Stead the head of the national team said that Ferguson’s injury has certainly affected the team especially when they are at an exciting form.

New Zealand recently equalled with Australia in the Test rankings after their Test victory and they are certainly aiming to be at the top and qualify for the World Test Championship happening next year.

“The pace and skill he’s been able to consistently produce has made him one of the very best white ball bowlers in the world and a huge asset for the Blackcaps. Lockie has a great attitude and I know he’s up for the fight so he’ll get stuck into the rehab and we’re still hopeful he may get back on the park at the back end of summer”, Stead said while talking about Lockie’s form.

The pacer will require some resting period and rehabilitation before returning to play later summer. Before Bangladesh series that includes three T20Is and three ODIs and goes on till March 28, the Black Caps will indulge in a home series against Australia in late February for five T20Is.

NZ vs PAK 1st T20I Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | NZ vs PAK 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | New Zealand vs Pakistan 1st T20I Key Players | Eden Park Auckland Pitch Report

After COVID drama and some doubt about whether this series will go ahead, the action is set to get underway at the typically high-scoring Eden Park in Auckland.

New Zealand, fresh off very successful T20I and Test assignments against West Indies, tackle Pakistan, who will be looking to make a positive start to the series. Some big names, namely Kane Williamson and Babar Azam, will be missing for a variety of reasons, which makes this series an opportunity for some of the inexperienced players to shine.

Also, can Pakistan put distractions, such as Mohammad Amir’s retirement, to the side? The most important question, however, is whether Pakistan can compete effectively without Babar Azam. The Pakistani captain has been superb in this format over the course of his career to date, so replacing him requires a team effort. For New Zealand, they will be missing key bowlers, so the battle between they and Pakistan’s newcomers will make for an interesting watch.

NZ vs PAK 1st T20I Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | NZ vs PAK 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | New Zealand vs Pakistan 1st T20I Key Players | Eden Park Auckland Pitch Report

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

New Zealand:

  • Jimmy Neesham — After a forgettable IPL performance, the New Zealand All-Rounder was at very best both with both bat and the ball against the West Indies in the recently concluded T20I series against New Zealand. To add more to his case he will be playing at his home ground and he also took three wickets and scored seven runs when he played against Pakistan last time.
  • Glenn Philips — The 24-year-old dashing batsman showed his class by hammering 108 off 51 balls at Bay Oval and will look to replicate his form at Eden Park. Also, he plays for Auckland Aces, who play their home games at the same venue during Super Smash. The experience of playing at Eden Park can be quite handy.
  • Martin Guptill — The Big man likes playing against Pakistan and he Averages 33.07 against the Men in Green which is slightly above his career average of 32.32. Also, Kane Williamson rested, and Ross Taylor dropped the squad puts more responsibility on him.

Pakistan:

  • Mohammad Hafeez – There were many questions over Hafeez inclusion in the last T20I series when Pakistan played their last series against England but the Pakistani Legend answered them by winning the Man of the Series and the absence of Babar Azam put more responsibility on him to perform.
  • Shadab Khan — This will be the first time Shabad Khan will be leading Pakistan in any format and he would love to lead from the front and replicate the form he showed in the Pakistan Super League.
  • Shaheen Shah Afridi — Shaheen has been emerging as one of the best all-format bowlers and this will be the first time he will be playing at New Zealand after his massive U-19 World Cup performance was also held in New Zealand.

Punt Pick

Haris Rauf- One of the most talked T20 bowler of this year after his impressive performance last year BBL would like to replicate his performance in similar conditions.

Possible Playing 11

Kane Williamson is on paternity leave. Lockie Ferguson is out with injury. Details here.

Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson, and Daryl Mitchell have been rested for the First T20I while the Blackcaps Veteran batsman Ross Taylor was dropped from the T20 squad.

Jacob Duffy is expected to make his T20I debut in the first T20I who is full of confidence coming back after an impressive summer.

New Zealand: 1. Martin Guptill, 2. Tim Seifert (wk), 3. Devon Conway, 4. Glenn Phillips, 5. Mark Chapman, 6. James Neesham, 7. Mitchell Santner (c), 8. Scott Kuggelejin, 9. Blair Tickner/Todd Astle, 10. Ish Sodhi, 11. Jacob Duffy

Babar Azam was been ruled out of the T20I series due to a thumb injury and Shadab Khan will lead the side in his absence who would like to capitalize on his experience of playing at Eden Park.

Pakistan: 1. Abdullah Shafique, 2. Haider Ali, 3. Khushdil Shah, 4. Mohammad Hafeez, 5. Imad Wasim, 6. Faheem Ashraf/Hussain Talat, 7. Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 8. Shadab Khan (c), 9. Wahab Riaz, 10. Haris Rauf, 11. Shaheen Shah Afridi

Eden Park Auckland Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch in Auckland has been an absolute belter for batting over the years. Another high-scoring affair seems to be on the cards under the lights. Teams might opt to bat second as the track isn’t expected to change much during the contest. No rain is forecast.

Mohammad Amir retires from international cricket – “cannot play under this management”

0

Mohammad Amir retires from international cricket – “cannot play under this management” | Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Amir has retired from international cricket

Mohammad Amir, Pakistan’s left-arm pace bowler, has announced his retirement from international cricket. Aged just 28, Amir has made his decision due to indifferences with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

In a video interview with Pakistani channel Samaa, Amir said that he “cannot play under this management”.

Amir also noted that he did not feel welcome in the national team. “I don’t think I can play cricket under this management. I think I should leave cricket this time. I am being tortured mentally. I don’t think I can tolerate any more torture now,” said Amir.

“I’ve experienced a lot of torture from 2010 to 2015. I was away from the game and sentenced for my mistake. I’m being tortured again and again…”

Amir, who was jailed for five years after the spot-fixing scandal in 2010, said that there were only two key people who supported him. These two were Shahid Afridi and former PCB President Najam Sethi.

“Sethi and Shahid Afridi were the two people whom I will thank forever, both of them supported me at a tough time,” he said.

“I returned after completing the sentence of five years, it’s not like I returned after a year. The rest of the team said, ‘we will not play with Mohammad Amir’.”

The PCB responded with a statement. “(Amir) confirmed to the PCB chief executive that he has no desires or intentions of playing international cricket and, as such, he should not be considered for future international matches,” the PCB said in a statement. “This is a personal decision of Mohammad Amir, which the PCB respects.”

Mohammad Amir is now surely one of the biggest “what ifs” in recent cricket memory. The left-arm pacer burst onto the scene as a teenager in 2009, and impressed everyone with his incredible pace, swing and control. The spot-fixing scandal in 2010 shocked the cricketing world, and left Michael Holding on the verge of tears.

Since his return, Amir has had some wonderful moments, such as the 2017 Champions Trophy Final. However, given Amir’s incredible talent in his early years, a glorious, long career was beckoning.
