IPL 2019: RCB vs RR Preview Dream11 Prediction

RCB vs RR Preview Dream11. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals Preview Dream11 Prediction

Two teams who have been in do-or-die mode for a couple of weeks now. One side is about to take its last breath, and the other is doing enough to keep hopes alive of a miraculous playoffs appearance.

Not even the philosophical, faithful Royal Challengers Bangalore fans can realistically believe they can make the playoffs. Despite four wins out of five before their defeat to DC, it has been another underwhelming canpaign for Virat Kohli’s men. It was another season of hope for RCB, but it hasn’t materialised. However, they can now be of nuisance value to their opponents. Will they end RR’s season?

Rajasthan Royals made a late run to the playoffs last season. They are attempting to do it again, and even though SRH’s net run rate boosting win over KXIP yesterday is a blow, Steve Smith’s men are still in with a chance. Their first win this season was over RCB, and they will be out to ensure their win over SRH last game isn’t their last.

Key to an RCB win

RCB’s death bowling made for grim viewing once again. Their poor last four overs vs DC was ultimately the difference between winning and losing. Here, they need a polished performance at all stages of the innings, with RR’s top order in good form – Ajinkya Rahane, Liam Livingstone, Sanju Samson and Steve Smith are all playing well. So, Umesh Yadav will be key in the powerplay, Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal up until the middle overs, and Navdeep Saini and even Marcus Stoinis at the death.

Also, can Virat Kohli play a big innings? He has had three low scores in a row – something so rare for the India and RCB captain. He and in-form Parthiv Patel can provide a quick start that pushes RR back, and remind them of their pace bowling worries from earlier in the season. If RCB do the right thing and bat Marcus Stoinis at four, RCB have a top four – including AB de Villiers – that can set up a huge total.

RCB vs RR Preview Dream11 – It wasn’t a good death period for RCB vs DC.

Key to a RR win

RR bowled nicely as a unit in their last-start win over SRH. The much-maligned Jaydev Unadkat picked up man-of-the-match, but the challenge for he and RR is to back up their effort well. Conditions at the Chinnaswamy are different to Jaipur, which puts onus on Varun Aaron and Oshane Thomas in particular to be as accurate as possible with their pace. Shreyas Gopal has a superb record vs RCB, so he can keep things tight in the middle overs, especially if RR make a strong start. Can RR get the better of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers?

Also, there was much to like about RR’s top four against SRH. Ajinkya Rahane and Liam Livingstone began with a strong opening partnership, and if they can replicate what DC did a couple of days ago vs RCB, it sets things up nicely for Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, Ashton Turner and Riyan Parag to play off the back of. Samson in particular has fond memories of the Chinnaswamy, belting 92* off 45 balls there last year. Against an RCB attack that continues to have its struggles, a big opportunity awaits RR.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 19, RCB 8, RR 10, NR 1.
  • RR have won the last three matches against RCB.
  • This will be Steve Smith’s last match for RR this season. It will be his 50th match as captain in T20s.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal is two wickets away from 100 in IPL.
  • Virat Kohli currently has 49 wins as an IPL captain.

Match Prediction

Huge game for RR as they look to keep their season alive.

It is hard to predict which RCB side will turn up in this game. Will they perform really well now that the pressure is gone? Or will RR continue their good run?

I think RR will do enough to pick up a tight win.

Online Cricket Betting Tips: Key things to keep in mind

Online Cricket Betting Tips: Key things to keep in mind

The internet has taken the world by storm. We can communicate within seconds, do our shopping without leaving our seat and engage with more content than ever before.

Another product of the rise of the internet is the rise of online cricket betting. Betting can be a way of having some extra fun when watching cricket. However, it can be an issue too, and I am not referring to the possibility and rise in the cases of fixing over the years. I am referring to betting on an individual level.

I am not a betting person myself, but millions of fans are. So, I thought I would share some key tips to keep in mind when looking to win!

1. NEVER chase your losses

You play to win, but winning is not always the result. Losses are part and parcel of betting. However, how you respond to this situation is actually crucial to individual well being.

This tip is number one before anything else because of the damage chasing losses can do. $10 can then become $50. $50 can then become $100, and so on. As you try to recover, it can be very easy to spiral more and more out of control, especially as your phone is right in your hand. Give yourself a daily or weekly limit and stick to it.

So, have a strategy in place where you plan and track your finances. If you feel you are at risk of gambling addiction, there is help out there. Cricket Betting should be something you can enjoy and not be a cause of harm!

Online Cricket Betting Tips: The rise of the internet means putting measures in place is important.

2. Do your research

Your betting strategy should include research. It is important you do your research before placing a wager.

Cricket is not only a game of statistics, but a game of conditions, strategy and individual battles. Understanding previous matches between teams, records and statistics puts you in a better position to make a call. You want to take the necessary amount of time to consider all alternatives before placing a bet. Cricket Previews, like those available on CricBlog, explore key stats and avenues for victory for teams. These can provide important information to you ahead of matches.

After all, you want to give yourself every possible chance of winning. So, place a bet if you feel confident on the back of research.

3. Always place a Head-to-Head bet AFTER the toss

The toss is more important than ever before in cricket. This is often the case in Test cricket, where teams who won the toss often going on to win the Test match.

Waiting for the toss and and insight into the conditions is crucial. For example, in the ongoing 2019 World Cup, teams who batted first won 28 of the 41 completed games in the group stage.

4. Ensure the site is safe and reputable

Always bet through trusted providers. The internet is a place where scammers run ragged, hunting their prey at all times. It is crucial to ensure the website or app has the appropriate security measures and encryptions in place to ensure you are at ease with where you are placing your money.

5. Look for good promotions

You can’t beat a good promotion.

With competition rife in the online betting industry, bookmakers are always working on promotions to increase their client base and loyalty. For example, provides some offers if you fancy a bet on the cricket. These are opportunities for you to minimise your losses whilst enjoying betting on the action.

Online Cricket Betting Tips: Key things to keep in mind Cricket Blog CricBlog

6. Learn about the different types of bets and what works for you

The game of cricket has a number of betting options. From runs in an over, to next man dismissed, to the result of a match, the possibilities are endless.

However, it is important to:

  • Understand each option, taking into consideration the probability of the event occurring.
  • Know what works best for you from previous experience. For example, is it simple pick-the-winner betting that works best for you?
  • Use this to develop a betting strategy, keeping in mind point one: always have a financial plan and limit.

A 100% winning strategy is not realistic. If it was, bookmakers would not exist.

Bookmakers are around to make a profit. It is important to keep these tips in mind to ensure you are safe and that your individual well being is intact.

IPL 2019: SRH vs KXIP Preview Dream11 Prediction

SRH vs KXIP Preview Dream11. Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kings XI Punjab Preview Dream11 Prediction

Preview co-written by N.S. Shekhawat

Final week of the IPL 2019 league stage. Crunch matches are crunchier, with playoff spots still there for the taking. Who said Mondays were boring?!

Sunrisers Hyderabad are still in control of their destiny. A win today will go a long way to securing qualification given their strong net run rate. However, they aren’t without their issues. Their top order has been the biggest reason why they have won games this season, with their middle order continuing to underwhelm. Nos. 4-7 have the lowest run rate of any team (6.40), least balls per wicket (12.9) and worst balls-per-boundary ratio (11.8). With KKR, KXIP and RR hot on their heels, SRH need to win.

Will it be a repeat of last season for Kings XI Punjab? They were well on track for a playoffs appearance in IPL 2018, before collapsing to finish second-from-bottom. Now, they have lost four of their last five matches after a strong start to the season, raising fears of deja vu. KXIP have struggled vs SRH in Hyderabad, and there is no better time than now to put an end to this. Can they step up under pressure?

Key to a SRH win

David Warner, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey hold a huge key to SRH’s chances. The top order has done the bulk of SRH’s scoring in IPL 2019, and with the playoffs so close, the top three need to deliver the goods. David Warner has now crossed 600 runs for the tournament, and with KXIP’s seamers expensive throughout the tournament, an opportunity awaits Warner to play another big knock. However, SRH have a problem with Wriddhiman Saha playing as a finisher, so if SRH choose to play him as opener, would they risk moving Pandey one spot down from his preferred number three position? If SRH persist with Saha down the order, then much depends on the top order, including Vijay Shankar who needs runs, to get a big score.

Also, can SRH’s attack get the better of KXIP? This game could be a battle between the two top orders, so how the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed and Rashid Khan fare is of huge interest. The wickets of KL Rahul and Chris Gayle will be key, but KXIP still possess some dangerous players in the middle order that SRH have to guard against. Will it be Mohammad Nabi who comes back, along with Sandeep Sharma given that Siddarth Kaul struggled last game?

Key to a KXIP win

KXIP’s seamers were carted around badly vs RCB. They have struggled for control in recent games, and must put on a better showing against a dangerous SRH top order. Mohammed Shami has had his good moments this season, and Ravi Ashwin will be hoping he can make inroads into SRH’s lineup in the powerplay. With the two Ashwin’s bowling well, KXIP desperately need a collective bowling effort in a crunch game.

Also, can KXIP also produce a collective batting performance? Their top five all contributed to the cause in the loss vs RCB, producing partnerships that had RCB worried when defending 203. Against an SRH attack not quite firing as they did last season, an opportunity awaits KXIP’s top five to produce the goods. KL Rahul and Chris Gayle will be crucial, and so too Mayank Agarwal and Nicholas Pooran in maintaining the momentum. However, can David Miller (if picked) bat with more fluency?

Logic said RCB could beat DC given their great record at Feroz Shah Kotla. Also, MI had won eight straight vs KKR, so they were in prime position to win.

Right?

Wrong!

IPL 2019 continues to spring surprises. However, I have the feeling that a good record will apply here. SRH have a fine record vs KXIP, and even though they don’t look as good as previous seasons, I think they have enough in them to win at home.

IPL 2019: KKR vs MI Preview Dream11 Prediction

KKR vs MI Preview Dream11. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians Preview Dream11 Prediction

Preview co-written by N.S. Shekhawat

It is truly now or never.

Kolkata Knight Riders started IPL 2019 so well. They have now lost six consecutive matches, and are completely out of form. Dinesh Karthik’s men have to dig deep to find something as their season is on the line. Their bowling has been a disappointment, and you have to think long and hard as to who has impressed. Expectations were high on Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav, but they have not been able to click as a unit. The batting is heavily reliant on Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell, so a full team effort is needed. Will Karthik build on his fine 97* last game by promoting himself up the order?

Mumbai Indians can now start dreaming of a top two finish. However, the big challenge today will be how well they back up off a short turnaround. They lost to RR last Saturday, less than 48 hours after they beat DC. Now, they will play 48 hours after a fine win vs CSK at Chepauk. Rohit Sharma’s 67 would have been of relief to he and MI, given his start-filled IPL 2019. Although he hasn’t quite fired this season, MI can take hope in Rohit’s incredible record in Kolkata. Can MI get a win to go top of the table?

Key to a KKR win

As mentioned, the batting is heavily dependent on Andre Russell. With KKR’s season now on the line, they would be wise to promote him a little higher up the order to get the most out of him. With Dinesh Karthik hitting some form, his contribution at no. 4 will be crucial, along with the top three of KKR that continues to remain inconsistent. Nitish Rana has to improve on his starts, and if Chris Lynn is persisted with, he needs to bludgeon the attack like he did when he burst onto the T20 scene.

Also, the bowling paints a miserable picture. However, their bowlers began well vs RR, building some pressure early before letting it slip at the death. CSK’s spinners helped put a lid on MI’s scoring last game, so KKR would well advised to bowl spin in the powerplay, with Sunil Narine a danger man against Quinton de Kock in particular. Piyush Chawla, who was excellent last game, might be the answer early against Rohit Sharma. Can KKR start well and then slow MI down further in the middle overs? Then, can they get the better of Hardik Pandya at the death?

KKR vs MI Preview Dream11 – Can Andre Russell pull out some magic?

Key to a MI win

Rohit Sharma, with a fine record at Eden Gardens, will be a key man for MI today. He was excellent at Chepauk, setting MI up with 67 on a challenging pitch. Quinton de Kock will also be key, and he could enjoy conditions that offers a little more pace. With Evin Lewis to follow, MI can aim for a fast start, to be maintained by Kieron Pollard who has a case to bat at four. Regardless of whether Pollard does bat there, MI need to avoid losing quick wickets in the middle overs, so they can gather momentum ahead of the death period where Hardik Pandya comes into his own.

Also, MI’s bowling attack is looking slick. They are working as a unit, highlighted by various bowlers chipping in vs CSK. Jasprit Bumrah was superb for his 2/10, and so too Lasith Malinga who took 4/37. Sure, he went for a few more runs, but his wicket taking ability is something MI will be looking forward to again. However, can the likes of Rahul Chahar find success on a challenging ground for bowlers? Also, can the Pandya brothers provide five or six high quality overs? With KKR’s batting up-and-down in recent times, MI have an opportunity.

Will MI leave Evin Lewis out for Jason Behrendhorff to play in place of Anukul Roy?

IPL 2019: DC vs RCB Preview Dream11 Prediction

DC vs RCB Preview Dream11. Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Preview Dream11 Prediction

With games always coming thick and fast in IPL 2019, it has felt like an age since these two sides played.

Delhi Capitals last played nearly a week ago. They recovered from a Rahane-Smith onslaught with their own from Rishabh Pant, winning a crucial match to entrench them in the top four. However, that match was in Jaipur, part of their excellent away record. They now return to the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium where they have won just two of their five games so far. DC have likely sewn up their playoffs place already, but they could end the day in the top two. Can they hold their nerve against a side that has found its stride?

That side is Royal Challengers Bangalore. They have won three straight games and four of their last five to resurrect their season. They have put to bed talks of going through the season without a win, keeping alive their hopes of a miraculous playoffs appearance. However, as this is just a mathematical possibility given their poor net run rate, RCB well and truly can’t afford any more slip ups. It has been their last chance in their last three games, and they have responded with victories. Can they do it again?

WATCH: Cricket’s newest talent! Cricket with Sparsh explores key fantasy stats and RCB’s chances vs DC.

Key to a DC win

When DC beat RCB at the Chinnaswamy earlier in IPL 2019, it was off the back of their bowlers. Kagiso Rabada took four wickets, supported beautifully by Chris Morris. However, conditions in Delhi often require a tweak in strategy given the nature of the pitch, which puts onus on the DC spinners to overcome RCB’s in-form batting lineup. With dew a chance to play a part as evening sets in, DC’s spinners have to be on song as they will have a key role to play whether they bowl first or second. Can the likes of Ishant Sharma and leading wicket taker Kagiso Rabada set up a great platform in the powerplay overs, including the big wicket of hometown hero Virat Kohli?

Also, can DC’s batsmen continue their good form? It was a duck vs RCB that ended up inspiring a turnaround in form for Shikhar Dhawan. Prithvi Shaw has made plenty of starts, and needs to convert while supporting the others. Shreyas Iyer made RCB pay dearly for an early drop in their previous meeting this season. And, with Rishabh Pant in dangerous form, plus a good record vs RCB, DC can hope for a strong batting display up top that sets them up for a strong finish with the likes of Sherfane Rutherford and Colin Ingram in the ranks too. With no Dale Steyn and still a lack of confidence at the death overs for RCB, DC have an opportunity to pounce.

Key to an RCB win

It has to be another huge effort by RCB. They are hanging on by a thread, but they won’t mind if they pick up another tight win here. The big question is whether their batting can hold up against DC’s attack on a slow track. There have been times this season where RCB have struggled against spin, so the ideal situation would be to bat second with dew possibly setting in. However, as you can’t rely on the toss, the onus is on AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, who has a superb record in Delhi, to lead from the front. In-form Moeen Ali has now departed for England duty, so will it be Shimron Hetmyer to finally show what he is capable of in conjunction with Parthiv Patel and Marcus Stoinis?

Also, it would have been pleasing for RCB to see Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini bowl well vs KXIP. Taking five wickets between them, the challenge for these two would be to follow up that performance with another strong effort in Delhi. But, eyes will be mostly focused on RCB’s spinners, who have it in them to cause DC trouble on the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch. With no Moeen Ali, Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar will be crucial to their chances, along with P Negi who could get a look in given the conditions. Can RCB get the better of DC’s top order and make inroads into the middle order?

Possible Playing 11

Chris Morris and Amit Mishra have been expensive in their last few outings. The conditions makes Sandeep Lamichhane a good choice to target RCB, and Rahul Tewatia could get a look in.

DC: 1. Shikhar Dhawan, 2. Prithvi Shaw, 3. Shreyas Iyer (c), 4. Rishabh Pant, 5. Colin Ingram, 6. Sherfane Rutherford/Chris Morris, 7. Axar Patel, 8. Amit Mishra, 9. Kagiso Rabada, 10. Ishant Sharma, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

Tim Southee continues to struggle for RCB. It will be interesting to see whether they go with Southee or a spinner in his place. Also, RCB have the option of Colin de Grandhomme.

RCB: 1. Parthiv Patel (wk), 2. Virat Kohli (c), 3. AB de Villiers, 4. Shimron Hetmyer, 5. Akshdeep Nath, 6. Marcus Stoinis, 7. Washington Sundar, 8. Umesh Yadav, 9. Tim Southee/Pawan Negi, 10. Yuzvendra Chahal, 11. Navdeep Saini

IPL 2019: RR vs SRH Preview Dream11 Prediction

RR vs SRH Preview Dream11. Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview Dream11 Prediction

Early in the tournament, it looked like four or five sides were realistically in contention for a playoffs place. However, the competition has had its surprises over the last couple of weeks, and with the home stretch now here, margin for error is minimal for a number of teams.

One of them is Rajasthan Royals. Three wins in their last five matches have kept them in contention for a finals place. However, they will now be without their England representatives (bar Liam Livingstone). Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes have now all departed, which increases the challenge further for RR. But, all distractions must be put to the side, as they sit two points behind fourth placed SRH with a worse net run rate and an extra game played. Can they keep their hopes alive?

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a really awkward phase of the season where middle order collapses were the norm. They have picked up some form over the last week or so, and have built up a very strong net run rate which could give them a crucial advantage in the race for a playoffs spot. Jonny Bairstow has now departed for England duty, which is a blow, but Kane Williamson is back after missing the last game due to personal leave. With David Warner due to depart IPL 2019 soon too, can SRH pick up a crucial win?

Key to a RR win

Tweaks to RR’s playing XIs and strategy over the last few games have reaped rewards. Ajinkya Rahane and Steve Smith seem to be playing with more freedom, which has rubbed off onto the rest of the team. They will be key here especially after Steve Smith failed in Kolkata last start, along with Sanju Samson, who is threatening to reach his best form. With Riyan Parag, Liam Livingstone and Stuart Binny all capable of striking lusty blows in the middle order, a strong platform for RR can work wonders.

Also, how well will RR cope without Jofra Archer? He has been a rock for them with the ball in IPL 2019, which puts onus on all the bowlers to contribute. Varun Aaron was excellent in his return last game, but the challenge will be to follow it up with another big effort. Can RR get the better of David Warner early? What about Kane Williamson? With Oshane Thomas and Shreyas Gopal also capable of wickets, RR need to test Manish Pandey’s ability to follow up a big effort vs CSK, as well as the SRH middle order.

Image credit: BCCI. RR vs SRH Preview Dream11 – Huge game for Steve Smith.

Key to a SRH win

David Warner has struck five half-centuries in a row. He and Jonny Bairstow have been central to everything good for SRH in IPL 2019. However, Bairstow has now left for England, so Warner’s contribution is extra important. He will likely be joined at the top by Kane Williamson (if SRH choose to not go with Martin Guptill), who can complement Warner nicely. Williamson hasn’t yet had the chance to get going in this tournament, so the time is now with a playoffs spot up for grabs. With Manish Pandey outstanding and Vijay Shankar threatening vs CSK, a strong opening stand followed up well by the middle order is the need of the hour for SRH.

Also, can SRH create pressure for RR’s middle order? RR’s top three will be crucial to their chances today, so early wickets can enable SRH to target RR’s middle order with spin. Riyan Parag will be a key wicket in the middle order as he continues to play beautifully, along with the likes of Liam Livingstone and Ashton Turner (if picked). SRH can open the game up nicely if they get RR trying to force the pace against the likes of Rashid Khan and Shakib Al Hasan.

Stats and Facts

  • SRH have won the last four matches against RR.
  • No player has ever scored six consecutive half centuries in IPL. David Warner has the chance to do so today.

Match Prediction

Crucial game for both sides today.

It looks a tough proposition for RR without key players. But, they will fight and make this a close game. However, SRH might have just a bit too much experience and take this one out.

IPL 2019: CSK vs MI Preview Dream11 Prediction

CSK vs MI Preview Dream11. Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians Preview Dream11 Prediction

Ah, bogey matches. We have another.

Chennai Super Kings seem to enjoy playing most teams in IPL Cricket. They are in the playoffs discussion year in, year out. However, one side they don’t enjoy playing is MI. They lost quite heavily to them earlier in IPL 2019, which was their fifth loss in their last seven games against Rohit Sharma’s men. However, CSK are at their beloved Chepauk, where they have not lost once this season. Will it remain the case?

Mumbai Indians are coming off a game against their own bogey team. They lost to RR yet again, which was their fifth loss in six games against Steve Smith’s men. With the top four getting tight with a handful of games remaining, MI have to do what no team has done this season and win at Chepauk. Can MI keep their trend going of performing better against the higher-ranked sides?

Key to a CSK win

Shane Watson delivered! What a relief it would have been for Watson and CSK, with his 96 seeing a return to form and the end of a two-match losing streak for his team. Suresh Raina also found some form with a brisk 38, but CSK need a collective to overcome a capable MI attack. Faf du Plessis will also be key, setting a platform for the likes of MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav and Dwayne Bravo to play off the back of. However, can Ambati Rayudu play with greater fluency, too?

However, CSK’s bowling and fielding was well off-colour vs SRH. They were sloppy in their execution, which is something they must improve on. Here, the battle between Deepak Chahar and Harbhajan Singh against Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock promises to be a beauty, especially considering MI are one of the best powerplay teams in IPL 2019. Then, with MI not batting with great fluency in the middle overs, CSK can then look to build pressure in this period. Then, when faced with Hardik Pandya in the death overs, will spin be the way to go?

Key to a MI win

Strong powerplays have been a regular feature of MI’s play in IPL 2019. However, so has stuttering middle overs batting. They couldn’t quite get going in their last game vs RR, and Hardik Pandya wasn’t able to get them to a total in the vicinity of 180. That MI sit third without firing in a full innings consistently is testament to their depth, but they need a big effort in all three stages of the innings against CSK. A fast start from Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma would be ideal, followed by good strike rotation in the middle overs, paving the way for Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya to launch.

Also, can MI get the better of the CSK top order? CSK have shown a tendency to lose powerplay wickets in IPL 2019, and MI have to take advantage. Depending on conditions, MI could look to play Jason Behrendhorff, but whoever is tasked with bowling up top needs to hit good areas to build pressure on CSK’s top order. With Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav in middling form in IPL 2019, MI have the opportunity to make ground in the middle overs, putting pressure on CSK to go big at the death against the likes of Lasith Malinga and Jasprit Bumrah.

  • CSK have a +60% winning record against every team in IPL, except MI.
  • MI have lost wickets to spin more frequently than any team in IPL 2019 (every 19.8 deliveries).
  • MI was the last team to beat CSK at Chepauk.

Match Prediction

Wow, what a tough game to pick. This promises to be a cracking clash.

MI have a fine record vs CSK, and CSK are so hard to beat at Chepauk. But, with MI’s strong record vs higher-ranked teams, as well as their ability to beat CSK, I will go with MI to cause a bit of a surprise and win at Chepauk!

IPL 2019: KKR vs RR Preview Dream11 Prediction

KKR vs RR Preview Dream11. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals Preview Dream11 Prediction

The form is poor, and the stakes are high. Confusion for both teams on the make up of their batting lineup is evident, reflective in their positions on the league table. Time is well and truly running out.

Had it not been for a number of freak innings from Andre Russell, Kolkata Knight Riders would be in last place. However, such has been the disappointment of recent performances that someone can have such an unbelievable tournament, yet last place is still very much a possibility. They sit just two points ahead of RR at the moment, and having lost five straight games, KKR have to dig deep to keep their playoff hopes alive.

It has also been a disappointing season for Rajasthan Royals. They are on their last legs, and will wave goodbye to Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer after this game. They will want big contributions from those two – especially Stokes, who has had a very underwhelming campaign. With just one win in seven at Eden Gardens, RR have to put together a performance they and their fans can be proud of to keep their faint hopes alive. Can they do it?

Key to a KKR win

KKR have been very inconsistent in all departments in IPL 2019. They:

  • Have relied on Andre Russell too much with the bat.
  • Are the most expensive bowling side in IPL 2019 (9.10).
  • Are dropping plenty of chances.

Sloppy play has to be rectified if they are to even think of a playoffs appearance. This starts with their batting, which was mighty poor vs SRH. Dinesh Karthik, with an average of 16.70, is enduring his second-worst IPL campaign. He has to step up as leader of the KKR side, and show the doubters that he belongs in India’s preliminary World Cup squad. Sunil Narine threatened with the bat last game, but KKR couldn’t take advantage, which puts onus on the likes of Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana to set a strong platform for Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell. Surely KKR won’t send Russell in at seven this time?

Also, can KKR’s struggling bowling attack keep RR quiet? RR scored 191 vs DC in their last game, which has to have KKR on high alert. They have struggled for early wickets in recent games, and have to find success in the powerplay against an RR side that batted with great intent last game. Harry Gurney and Prasidh Krishna, if both picked, will be crucial. However, how well will the spinners go? It is safe to say all three of Piyush Chawla, Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav have underwhelmed with the ball in IPL 2019, so the time to step up is now. Will it be smiles this time for Kuldeep (if picked) in particular?

Image credit: KKR. KKR vs RR Preview Dream11 – Dinesh Karthik is under pressure.

Key to a RR win

Ajinkya Rahane and Steve Smith put doubts to rest about them both being in the same T20 side. They were outstanding in the last game, with Rahane in particular playing a gem in picking up his second IPL century. To think RR were flying even with Sanju Samson run out without facing a ball is cause for optimism for RR, especially given the impact Samson can have. If Rahane, Samson and Smith can all contribute at a good rate at the top, the likes of Ben Stokes will have no excuses in looking to capitalise. Will it be Liam Livingstone to join him in the middle order, given Ashton Turner’s horrible run of ducks? RR struggled at the death vs DC, which is something they must get right today.

Also, it was back to square one for RR with the ball last time out. Like KKR, they have struggled to keep the runs down throughout IPL 2019, and the latest episode was Dhawal Kulkarni and Jaydev Unadkat going the distance again vs DC. This is almost expected, but what isn’t is Shreyas Gopal going the distance, and he will be a key man in building the pressure on a stuttering KKR lineup along with Jofra Archer. Can RR work as a unit to get the better of KKR, limiting the damage caused by Andre Russell?

KKR vs RR Preview Dream11 – Can Rahane and Smith fire again?

Possible Playing 11

Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa and three others were asked to take a break after the thrashing vs SRH and ahead of this game. KC Cariappa came in for Kuldeep Yadav last game. However, he went for 34 in his two overs, which could pave the way for Kuldeep Yadav to return. Also, will the out-of-form Robin Uthappa return, or could KKR push Andre Russell up a little further with Rinku Singh to bat at seven? What about promising Australian Matt Kelly over Harry Gurney?

KKR: 1. Chris Lynn, 2. Sunil Narine, 3. Nitish Rana, 4. Shubman Gill, 5. Dinesh Karthik (c & wk), 6. Andre Russell, 7. Rinku Singh, 8. Piyush Chawla, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Harry Gurney, 11. Prasidh Krishna

For RR, it is hard to see Ashton Turner getting another game. He has scored three golden ducks in a row this IPL, part of five ducks in a row in all T20s. Also, do RR go with both Unadkat and Kulkarni?

RR: 1. Ajinkya Rahane, 2. Sanju Samson (wk), 3. Steve Smith (c), 4. Ben Stokes, 5. Liam Livingstone, 6. Stuart Binny, 7. Riyan Parag, 8. Jofra Archer, 9. Shreyas Gopal, 10. Jaydev Unadkat, 11. Dhawal Kulkarni

Dream11 Prediction (based on final teams)

Key stats and points:

  • Before being run out without facing a ball vs DC, Sanju Samson had scores of 31, 27 and 35 in his previous three knocks. He is definitely worth considering as he is opening against a team that has struggled to take early wickets recently. He also averages 35 in five matches in Kolkata.
  • Dinesh Karthik is having a poor tournament, but is the kind of player who will never give in. An option if KKR bat first?
  • Chris Lynn scored a 50 last game vs KKR. However, his form has been patchy, so pick if you feel confident in Lynn overcoming Archer.
  • Sunil Narine scored 47 (25) vs RR earlier this season. He is also coming off 25 (8) vs SRH. However, he has just seven wickets in 10 games vs RR, so is his batting a bigger reason to pick him?
  • Ajinkya Rahane has a poor record at Eden Gardens (avg. 14 in nine games), but looks free without the captaincy.
  • Steve Smith vs KKR’s wristspinners will be an interesting battle. Since IPL 2015, Smith has scored 214 runs in 191 balls vs this bowling, with four dismissals. However, he looks in better form than KKR’s wristspinners, so definitely worth considering.
  • Ben Stokes was superb with the ball at Eden Gardens in IPL 2018, taking 3/15.
  • Good value for money picks: Shubman Gill, Shreyas Gopal and Riyan Parag.
  • Jofra Archer took seven wickets in three games before his last game vs DC. Dhawal Kulkarni has a poor record vs KKR, averaging 52 in five games with an economy of nearly 10. Jaydev Unadkat also struggles, taking just four wickets in eight games vs KKR.
  • Kuldeep Yadav to come back firing? He has six wickets in four games vs RR, averaging 15.
  • Harry Gurney vs RR this season: 2/25. Keep an eye out as to whether he plays over Matt Kelly.

IPL 2019: RCB vs KXIP Preview Dream11 Prediction

RCB vs KXIP Preview Dream11. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kings XI Punjab Preview Dream11 Prediction

With two absolutely thrilling finishes in a row at the Chinnaswamy, what on earth does Tuesday have in store?

Royal Challengers Bangalore have kept their very faint playoff hopes alive with two heart-stopping victories when easy wins looked certain. Against KKR, they had nearly thrown it away after KKR needed 113 off the final six overs. Against CSK, Umesh Yadav’s final ball slower ball saved his blushes, barely defending 26 off the final over. With a net run rate so far off their rivals, RCB need to win all their remaining four games to even stand a chance of a miraculous playoffs appearance. Can they make it three wins in a row?

Kings XI Punjab have hit a bit of a wall. They were the first team to lose to RCB this season, which is now part of three losses in their past four games. It is a reminder of their collapse in the second half of last season, where they lost six of their last seven games to finish second last. However, there have been plenty of signs to suggest they have improved in IPL 2019, and a desperate RCB will be a significant challenge. Can Ravi Ashwin’s men get a crucial win to move back into the top four?

Key to a RCB win

Two straight wins for RCB, but that is not without heart attacks in the death overs. They have conceded a total of 148 runs in the 10 death overs across their matches against KKR and CSK, which has been a problem for years. So, RCB need a bit of a rethink in strategy, perhaps leaving two overs each for Dale Steyn and Navdeep Saini, with a focus on executing yorkers. However, RCB will also need to continue their excellent powerplay form to win this game, especially considering Steyn has been an excellent addition at this phase. KL Rahul and Chris Gayle will be key wickets, which then puts pressure on the middle order to score big and fast against the likes of Yuzvendra Chahal on a high-scoring ground.

Also, that RCB won vs CSK with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers having under-par outings is cause for encouragement. Parthiv Patel’s contributions at the top are important, as he can help RCB make strong progress in the early-middle overs along with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The two legends are crucial as always, but with Moeen Ali playing his final game of IPL 2019, RCB will want one more strong contribution from the in-form all-rounder before he leaves for England duty. Can RCB overcome KXIP’s attack and get themselves in a position to launch in the death overs?

Photo: Kuntal Chakrabarty/IANS. RCB vs KXIP Preview Dream11 – Can Dale Steyn get the better of KXIP’s openers?

Key to a KXIP win

KXIP’s batsmen will surely be keen to move from the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium to the Chinnaswamy. All struggled against DC except for Chris Gayle, who overcame the slower conditions much better than his teammates. Here, great batting conditions await, so the onus is on KL Rahul and Chris Gayle to provide a rapid start that the middle order can build on. Indeed, one of the biggest questions is which batsmen will take advantage of RCB’s struggles at the death? David Miller, anyone?

Also, can KXIP’s bowlers keep things quiet? Their seamers have been expensive in recent matches, and Bangalore is a place where runs can be difficult to control. To give themselves the best chance, KXIP need to get the better of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, with their spinners then making RCB force the pace. Mohammed Shami, who was good last game vs DC, will be a key man in the powerplay. However, like the batting, who will step up at the death?

Image: BCCI. RCB vs KXIP Preview Dream11 – Gayle and Rahul to fire?

Possible Playing 11

UPDATE: Dale Steyn is out with a shoulder niggle. Washington Sundar will play his first game.

RCB Final XI: 1. Parthiv Patel (wk), 2. Virat Kohli (c), 3. AB de Villiers, 4. Moeen Ali, 5. Marcus Stoinis, 6. Akshdeep Nath, 7. Washington Sundar, 8. Umesh Yadav, 9. Tim Southee, 10. Navdeep Saini, 11. Yuzvendra Chahal

KXIP Final XI: 1. KL Rahul (wk), 2. Chris Gayle, 3. Mayank Agarwal, 4. David Miller, 5. Mandeep Singh, 6. Nicholas Pooran, 7. Ravichandran Ashwin (c), 8. Ankit Rajpoot, 9. Hardus Viljoen, 10. Mohammed Shami, 11. Murugan Ashwin

Dream11 Prediction

Key stats and points:

  • KL Rahul is very familiar with the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, scoring 302 runs in 11 innings at the ground (average 37.75).
  • However, Parthiv Patel is also an option. He is coming off a half century, and has a fine record vs KXIP: 540 runs in 16 innings at 38.57 (SR 134.00).
  • You would be brave to leave Chris Gayle out. He has over 1,500 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, with three centuries and an average of 41.57. Against RCB, he has 191 runs at 63.67 (SR 146.92).
  • Virat Kohli has scored 180 runs in four innings at Bengaluru this season. AB de Villiers has 175.
  • David Miller has a century vs RCB, but his overall century vs them is below 30. This falls to below 20 in Bengaluru. However, he is a dangerous player at the death.
  • Mayank Agwarwal to fire? He has a disappointing record at Bengaluru (avg. 19) and vs RCB (avg. 16), but has promised throughout IPL 2019.
  • Moeen Ali = must pick? He has 174 runs in his last four innings, and four wickets too.
  • Both Mandeep Singh and Sarfaraz Khan are familiar with Bengaluru. Room for either? The risk here is the batting time they will get.
  • What about Umesh Yadav? He has 26 wickets in 17 games vs KXIP at 18. He was man of the match against KXIP in Bengaluru last season.
  • Mohammed Shami has three wickets in two IPL matches at Bengaluru. M Ashwin is another option, but he has taken just one wicket in his past four matches, despite being economical. Keep an eye out if Mujeeb ur Rahman or Andrew Tye play – they are wicket taking options.

Option 1:

Option 2:

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 23, RCB 11, KXIP 12.
  • RCB have won their last three games against KXIP.
  • Navdeep Saini has the best dot-ball percentage of any bowler between overs 17 and 20 (45.8%).

Match Prediction

Expect fireworks. Firepower in both sides makes this an exciting game in the making. It is must-win for both teams, which adds to the spectacle.

With RCB’s solid recent record vs KXIP, and a home crowd behind them, I back RCB to get a win and make it three straight wins.

IPL 2019: CSK vs SRH Preview Dream11 Prediction

CSK vs SRH Preview Dream11. Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview Dream11 Prediction

Last season’s finalists meet once again in a high-stakes clash.

Chennai Super Kings beat SRH four times in IPL 2018, but the absence of MS Dhoni last week proved a little too much. He returned from back spasms vs RCB, lighting up the Chinnaswamy and nearly pulling off an incredible chase. So, CSK have now lost two straight, and will be keen to get back on track as they return to Chepauk. They have won four out of four at home in IPL 2019 – can they make it five from five?

Sunrisers Hyderabad were tottering badly before a season-reviving win over CSK last week. They then swept aside KKR with incredible ease on Sunday, to move back into the top four with a game in hand over those ahead of them. Indeed, this game is of high importance for SRH as this is Jonny Bairstow’s last before leaving for England duty. Will SRH move up to third in the table?

Key to a CSK win

CSK are up towards the top of the table once again. However, this has been despite inconsistent batting at the top of the order. Shane Watson and Suresh Raina have been fighting for form all tournament, which could see Watson miss out here. With Khaleel Ahmed bowling very well for SRH in recent games, CSK need to make a good start, which was certainly not the case vs RCB. The onus is on the likes of Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina and possibly Sam Billings to keep SRH at bay early, setting a platform for the likes of Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo to play with freedom.

Also, can CSK’s bowlers get the better of SRH’s strong opening partnership? Deepak Chahar continues to prove he is one of the top powerplay bowlers in IPL, dismissing Virat Kohli last game in this period. It enabled CSK to keep RCB relatively under control, limiting them to 161 before their top order crumbled. With concerns remaining over SRH’s middle order, early wickets exposes them to CSK’s battery of spinners in home conditions.

Key to a SRH win

David Warner and Jonny Bairstow are the top two run scorers in IPL 2019. They have scored 71% of SRH’s runs this season, and remain central to their chances of winning games. They will want more of the same today as it is Bairstow’s last game, and to do so, they will have to overcome CSK’s efficient bowling in the powerplay. If SRH can finish their powerplay on top, the tone is set to play CSK’s spinners with confidence. However, to get the most out of their batting, SRH also need the likes of Vijay Shankar and Yusuf Pathan to step up in the absence of Kane Williamson.

Also, can SRH continue the pain for CSK’s top order? Dale Steyn and Umesh Yadav ripped through the top order in the powerplay last game, and if SRH can do similar, it opens the game right up. Khaleel Ahmed has eight wickets in his three games so far, and with Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowling well of late, SRH have the resources to keep things tight at all stages of the innings.

Possible Playing 11

CSK will now play three matches in a row at home. Harbhajan Singh has missed their string of away matches with a stiff neck, but could be fit to play today. Also, Shane Watson’s poor form has continued, so Sam Billings might get a run.

CSK: 1. Faf du Plessis, 2. Shane Watson/Sam Billings, 3. Suresh Raina, 4. Kedar Jadhav, 5. Ambati Rayudu, 6. MS Dhoni (c & wk), 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Dwayne Bravo, 9. Deepak Chahar, 10. Imran Tahir, 11 Shardul Thakur/Harbhajan Singh

SRH: 1. Jonny Bairstow (wk), 2. David Warner, 3. Vijay Shankar, 4. Deepak Hooda/Manish Pandey, 5. Mohammad Nabi/Shakib Al Hasan, 6. Yusuf Pathan, 7. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (c), 8. Rashid Khan, 9. Shahbaz Nadeem, 10. Khaleel Ahmed, 11. Sandeep Sharma

Key stats and points:

  • Both Jonny Bairstow and MS Dhoni are in fine form. Bairstow is the tournament’s second-most run scorer and scored 61* (44) vs CSK. However, in a high-stakes game, never rule out MS Dhoni stepping up.
  • Faf du Plessis’ last three scores vs SRH: 67* (42), 10 (11), 45 (31).
  • David Warner is a must-pick with four straight half-centuries (517 runs in nine matches in IPL 2019).
  • Shane Watson has had an awful tournament, especially at home (56 runs in four matches). Vijay Shankar has also been in poor form with the bat recently (scores of 9, 16, 5, 26, 1 and 7).
  • Kane Williamson is out, so Mohammad Nabi or Shakib Al Hasan is a good all-round option.
  • Ambati Rayudu has an immense record vs SRH: 426 runs in 12 innings at 53.25 (SR 138.76).
  • Dwayne Bravo has eight wickets in his last four matches, and 17 in 11 matches vs SRH.
  • Deepak Chahar was expensive vs SRH last game. His overall record vs SRH is solid though, which includes 3/15 last season. Can he get the better of the SRH openers?
  • Khaleel Ahmed in IPL 2019: Eight wickets in three games.
  • Rashid Khan has taken at least one wicket in each of his last six matches.
  • Imran Tahir took 2/20 vs SRH last week. Ravindra Jadeja averages 89.33 with the ball vs SRH, but has been in the wickets in IPL 2019.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 11, CSK 8, SRH 3.
  • SRH beat CSK by six wickets last week.
  • SRH have lost both their IPL games in Chennai.
  • CSK are the only team to not lose at home in IPL 2019 (four matches, four wins).
  • Worst vs best: CSK score at just 6.20 in the powerplay in IPL 2019. SRH, on the other hand, score at 9.07.

Match Prediction

Plenty rests on this game between last year’s finalists.

SRH have the chance to make it three straight wins, while CSK need to avoid three straight losses. At home, though, I believe CSK will have enough in the tank to get an important win.
