RR vs CSK Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2025 11th Match

Even at such an early stage, the 11th match of IPL 2025 has an important feel to it. Rajasthan Royals (RR) have lost their first two matches convincingly, with their glaring weaknesses exposed. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) produced the goods against Mumbai Indians in their opening game, but they were well off the pace in their 50-run drubbing at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday. Their weaknesses, including poor middle order batting, were on show as well.

Both teams are looking for their best combinations, so there could be changes to their playing XIIs. While this is not a sign of panic per se, it is important for both sides to find some form as a terrible first half of the campaign could spell the end of their playoff hopes.

In this article, we will look at the possible playing XIIs, Guwahati pitch report, fantasy cricket tips and Dream11 Prediction for the 11th match of IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 11th Match: RR vs CSK Possible Playing XIIs

Jofra Archer has struggled for impact so far this season. If RR choose to replace him, they have the options of Fazalhaq Farooqi and Kwena Maphaka as their overseas pace-bowling alternatives.

Also, batting positions of Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer are in the spotlight. Parag performed so well at number four last season, but he has started IPL 2025 batting at three.

Rajasthan Royals: 1. Yashasvi Jaiswal, 2. Sanju Samson, 3. Riyan Parag (c), 4. Nitish Rana, 5. Dhruv Jurel (wk), 6. Shimron Hetmyer (OS), 7. Wanindu Hasaranga (OS), 8. Jofra Archer/Fazalhaq Farooqi (OS), 10. Maheesh Theekshana (OS), 11. Tushar Deshpande, 11. Sandeep Sharma

Chennai Super Kings also have questions to answer. Deepak Hooda’s form is a concern and he could be replaced.

CSK have the option of replacing Sam Curran with Jamie Overton or Devon Conway. Also, Anshul Kamboj could come in as a bowling all-rounder.

Chennai Super Kings: 1. Rachin Ravindra (OS), 2. Devon Conway (OS), 3. Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), 4. Rahul Tripathi/Vijay Shankar, 5. Shivam Dube, 6. Ravindra Jadeja, 7. MS Dhoni (wk), 8. Anshul Kamboj, 9. R Ashwin, 10. Noor Ahmad (OS), 11. Khaleel Ahmed, 12. Matheesha Pathirana (OS)

Barsapara Cricket Stadium Guwahati Pitch Report and Weather

The Guwahati surface offered some grip in the RR-KKR match on March 26. Spinners Moeen Ali and Varun Chakravarthy took combined figures of 4/40 off eight overs against RR. Similar conditions will bring the spinners and cutters into the contest.

A warm and clear evening is forecast. There is a chance of dew, so expect the captain who wins the toss to choose to bowl.

RR vs CSK Fantasy Cricket Tips: Top Picks/Key Players to Watch

Top wicket-keeper picks:

  • Sanju Samson is the best wicket-keeper pick given he opens the batting. However, consider whether you select Samson as c or vc. He averages just 15.00 in 16 innings against CSK. Of course, he can fire on the day, especially given his head-to-head record against Khaleel Ahmed: 44 balls, 75 runs, one wicket.
  • Dhruv Jurel has looked in fine form so far this season with scores of 70 (35) and 33 (28).

Key batter picks:

  • Rachin Ravindra has top scored for CSK in both games so far. He also recently won player of the tournament in the Champions Trophy.
  • Ruturaj Gaikwad missed out against RCB, but the CSK skipper has a century against RR. However, he has scored just 109 in his remaining six innings against the Royals.
  • Yashasvi Jaiswal is searching for his best form, but don’t write him off. The left-hander has struck 226 runs against CSK at an average of 37.67 and strike rate of 158.04.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Ravindra Jadeja can be a factor on the Guwahati surface. He has 20 wickets in 20 matches against the Royals (avg. 22.95) and has overall figures of 3/88 off 64 balls against Sanju Samson.

Key bowler picks:

  • Noor Ahmad has taken seven wickets in his first two matches in IPL 2025. If the Guwahati surface holds a little, Noor can be a big factor once again.
  • Matheesha Pathirana bowls in the crunch overs and faces an RR middle order that is a bit uncertain at the moment. Wicket-taking potential.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Teams

  • Khaleel Ahmed has looked in good form so far this season, but doesn’t have the best matchups against RR players: 75 off 44 balls (one wicket) vs Samson, 30 off 14 balls (one wicket) vs Jaiswal, 28 off 16 balls (no wicket) vs Nitish Rana, 32 off 14 balls (no wicket) vs Riyan Parag, and 27 off 13 balls (no wicket) vs Shimron Hetmyer.
  • Riyan Parag has not looked totally comfortable at number three, but he remains a decent Dream11 pick given he also bowls and fields in hotspot positions.
  • Wanindu Hasaranga was RR’s only wicket-taker against KKR and can also contribute with the bat.

Other Stats and Important Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 30, CSK 16, RR 14.
  • Nitish Rana vs CSK: 11 inns, 284 runs, avg. 31.56, SR 125.11.
  • Yashasvi Jaiswal vs Khaleel Ahmed in the IPL: 14 balls, 30 runs, one dismissal.
  • Shivam Dube vs Wanindu Hasaranga in the IPL: 13 balls, 27 runs, no dismissal.

DC vs SRH Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2025 10th Match

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be against each other in the highly anticipated 10th match of IPL 2025. The venue for this game will be the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium. It’s expected to be a high-scoring clash as both sides bolster very explosive batting lineups.

Delhi Capitals defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by one wicket in a thriller of a game in their season opener. Ashutosh Sharma (66* runs) held his nerves and saw his side over the line. Tristan Stubbs (34 runs) and Vipraj Nigam (39 runs) assisted him quite well. Vipraj was very impressive in his first game with the bat.

Mitchell Starc (3/42) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/20) pulled things back for Delhi with the ball. Jake Fraser-McGurk got dismissed for just 1 run which will be a concern for DC. KL Rahul has joined the Delhi Capitals squad and can be an important cog in the middle, should the Capitals decide to bat him down the order.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their last game against Lucknow Super Giants by five wickets with 3.5 overs left. Abhishek Sharma has failed to get going in the first two games. They will need consistency from him and Ishan Kishan. Heinrich Klaasen was unlucky in the last game and a big knock feels just around the corner. Travis Head has been in good touch and Aniket Verma has impressed a lot.

Pat Cummins did well with the ball in the last game but Mohammed Shami and Harshal Patel’s ineffectiveness might be a little concerning, although that can be because of the surface at Hyderabad. Adam Zampa has been below his best so far, often erring too full. The Sunrisers need to perform as a team moving forward in the tournament.

In this article, we will look at the possible playing XIIs, Visakhapatnam pitch report, fantasy cricket tips and Dream11 prediction for the 10th match of IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 10th Match: DC vs SRH Probable Playing XIs

KL Rahul has arrived with the Delhi Capitals squad following the birth of his child.

Delhi Capitals: 1. Jake Fraser McGurk (OS), 2. Faf du Plessis (OS), 3. Abhishek Porel, 4. KL Rahul (wk), 5. Axar Patel (c), 6. Tristan Stubbs (OS), 7. Ashutosh Sharma, 8. Vipraj Nigam, 9. Mitchell Starc (OS), 10. Kuldeep Yadav, 11. Mohit Sharma 12. Mukesh Kumar/T Natarajan (Impact)

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 1. Travis Head, 2. Abhishek Sharma, 3. Ishan Kishan, 4. Nitish Kumar Reddy, 5. Heinrich Klaasen (wk), 6. Aniket Verma, 7. Abhivan Manohar, 8. Pat Cummins (c), 9. Harshal Patel, 10. Mohammed Shami, 11. Simarjeet Singh 12. Adam Zampa/Wiaan Mulder (Impact)

Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium Visakhapatnam Pitch Report and Weather

The first game played at this venue in IPL 2025 saw Delhi Capitals chase down 209 runs against LSG. Another good batting wicket is expected for this game. The spinners can get some assistance as it’s a day game. There will be little to no movement for the pacers with the new ball. Although, we’ve seen some glimpses of reverse swing in a couple of games this season. Overall, the batters should dominate this game.

Scores in the range of 190-210 are expected with teams preferring to chase if they win the toss.

It will be a clear day with no chance of rain. The temperature will be around 35 degrees Celsius at the start of the game. Humidity will be around 50-60%.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for DC vs SRH: Top Picks/Key Players to Watch

Note: Try to pick more batters and all-rounders if you are playing on Dream11. The new point system rewards the batters heavily.

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Heinrich Klaasen has looked in good touch in the first two games of this season. He is amongst the best batters in T20 cricket and is capable of winning games on his own. Klaasen against DC: 102 runs in four games at an average of 34 and has struck at 178.90 with one fifty.
  • Ishan Kishan scored a hundred in the first game and got out for a duck in the next one. He loves playing against Delhi; 436 runs in 10 innings at an average of 72.70 and a striking at 153 with three fifties.
  • KL Rahul was in magnificent form in the recent Champions Trophy. Against SRH, Rahul has struck 457 runs at an average of 38.08 and strike rate of 122.34.

Key batter picks:

  • Faf du Plessis has 571 runs in 18 innings against SRH at an average of 35.70 at a strike rate of 143.80. Faf can score big on his day and he looked in good touch in the first game.
  • Jake Fraser-McGurk scored 65 off just 18 deliveries against SRH last year. His current form is abysmal but he can score big on his day, especially on a good batting wicket like we will see at Vizag.
  • Tristan Stubbs has a poor record against SRH: 12 runs in two innings. Despite that, he will be a top fantasy pick as he looked in good touch in the first game and is expected to do well in this one too.
  • Travis Head scored 89 against the Capitals in 32 deliveries last year. He scored 47 in the last game and 67 in the first one. Head will be a must in your fantasy teams and a top C/VC choice as well.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Axar Patel will bat at 4 or 5 in this match and bowl his full quota. He has 203 runs and 17 wickets against SRH in the IPL. Axar will fetch points from both bat and ball which makes him a top C/VC pick.
  • Abhishek Sharma has 133 runs in seven innings against Delhi at an average of 22.20 at a strike rate of 192.80. He scored 46 off 12 in IPL 2024 against the Capitals. He can bowl an over or two as well.
  • Nitish Kumar Reddy has 37 runs and two wickets against DC in one game. He hasn’t bowled in the first two games till now but he can be used. Reddy looked in good touch in the last match and will be a good fantasy pick.

Key bowler picks:

  • Kuldeep Yadav has 16 wickets in 14 games against SRH. He picked up four wickets against them last season. Kuldeep was exceptional in the first game of IPL 2025 and will be a key bowler for his team.
  • Mitchell Starc has eight wickets against SRH in six games at an economy of 8.26. He decimated SRH’s top order in the IPL 2024 playoffs. Starc picked up three wickets in the first game of this season.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Harshal Patel will be a great pick for this game if SRH is bowling first. His cutters will be very effective in a day game and he can pick up 2-3 wickets easily. He has seven wickets in six games against DC.
  • Pat Cummins has six wickets in five games against the Delhi Capitals. He scored a 18 runs in four deliveries and picked up two wickets in the last game.

Other Facts and Matchups

  • Head to Head: Matches 24; DC (11), SRH (13)
  • Faf du Plessis vs Axar Patel: 17 deliveries, 11 runs, 2 dismissals.
  • Faf du Plessis vs Adam Zampa: 30 deliveries, 37 runs, 3 dismissals.
  • Abhishek Sharma vs Axar Patel: 8 deliveries, 6 runs, 2 dismissals.
  • Ishan Kishan vs Kuldeep Yadav: 25 deliveries, 46 runs, 2 dismissals.

CSK vs RCB Twitter Reactions 2025 – Bengaluru THRASH Chennai by 50 runs

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had not beaten Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk since the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008, sparking widespread reactions. They ended the drought in the most comprehensive fashion, thrashing the hosts by 50 runs in a superb performance on Friday.

The 50-run margin actually flattered CSK with MS Dhoni landing a few late blows. Chasing 197, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s team were never in the hunt, with Josh Hazlewood (3/21) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/20) showing their powerplay might to break the back of the CSK lineup. Yash Dayal (2/18), Liam Livingstone (2/28) and Suyash Sharma (0/32) all kept the pressure on as RCB cruised to a second impressive win this season after thumping Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens last week.

Batting first, RCB had some shaky moments with Virat Kohli struggling for rhythm and Rajat Patidar crucially dropped by Deepak Hooda on 17 and Rahul Tripathi on 19. However, Patidar made CSK pay, hitting a 32-ball 51 to ensure RCB remained on track for a big score.

A bit of a slow down at the backend threatened to see RCB make less than 185. However, Tim David performed his role perfectly, finishing with three consecutive sixes off the last over against Sam Curran to take Patidar’s team to a very competitive 196. In the end, that was far too much for CSK, who suffered their biggest-ever defeat at home in the process.

CSK skipper Gaikwad rued his team’s fielding. On a pitch offering some asisstance for the bowlers, the captain believes RCB were above par. “To be honest, I still feel 170 was a par score on this wicket,” he said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

“It wasn’t that great to bat [on] but probably bad day in the field cost us really badly. [At the] end of the day, when you’re chasing 170, you bat differently, you kind of have little bit of time when you go in to bat, but when you’re chasing 20 runs extra on a wicket where you know it’s going to be sticky, and going to stop [on the batter] after the ball gets old, you have to bat slightly differently in the powerplay.”

RCB batting clicks to get above par total

Rajat Patidar and Tim David played crucial roles to get RCB to a strong total. Here are some of the reactions.

Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and RCB praised as Patidar leads well again

RCB’s bowlers were far too good. Also, Rajat Patidar led well. Here are some of the reactions.

CSK criticised for mindset and batting MS Dhoni at number 9

Fans and pundits were critical of CSK’s decision to bat MS Dhoni at number nine. They were also critical of fans in the stadium hoping for wickets to fall so Dhoni could bat.

GT vs MI Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2025 9th Match

Will the real Mumbai Indians (MI) please stand up? The five-time IPL champions have won just four of their past 11 matches dating back to the start of last season. Their loss against Chennai Super Kings last weekend is not cause for panic especially given they haven’t won a season opener in over a decade, but similar flaws were present, especially on the batting front.

At Chepauk, MI lost wickets far too regularly. In the end, they managed 155/9 thanks Deepak Chahar’s late cameo. Hardik Pandya’s return can surely help, but they’ll need a better start up top, with the onus on Rohit Sharma in particular to perform.

With the ball, Vignesh Puthur made an immediate impression and gives the MI attack another dimension. Puthur along with Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar and Mitchell Santner forms a decent core that can challenge the Gujarat Titans (GT).

Onto GT. They showed good signs themselves against Punjab Kings, but the pre-tournament worries came to the fore. Their pace attack, while all capable bowlers, have a sense of “sameness” about them, which can be costly at the death. With the bat, GT were on track to chase 240+, but a loss of momentum in the middle is what they need to avoid.

Who will come out on top in this important early season match? In this article, we will look at the possible XIIs, Ahmedabad pitch report, fantasy cricket tips and Dream11 Prediction for the 9th match of IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 9th Match: GT vs MI Possible Playing XIIs

Gujarat Titans may consider playing Glenn Phillips and Washington Sundar.

Gujarat Titans: 1. Sai Sudharsan, 2. Shubman Gill (c), 3. Jos Buttler (OS, wk), 4. Sherfane Rutherford/Glenn Phillips (OS), 5. Shahrukh Khan, 6. Rahul Tewatia, 7. Arshad Khan/Washington Sundar, 8. Sai Kishore, 9. Rashid Khan (OS), 10. Kagiso Rabada (OS), 11. Mohammed Siraj, 12. Prasidh Krishna

Hardik Pandya returns following his suspension.

Mumbai Indians: 1. Rohit Sharma, 2. Ryan Rickelton (OS, wk), 3. Will Jacks (OS), 4. Suryakumar Yadav, 5. Tilak Varma, 6. Hardik Pandya (c), 7. Naman Dhir, 8. Mitchell Santner (OS), 9. Deepak Chahar, 10. Trent Boult (OS), 11. Satyanarayana Raju, 12. Vignesh Puthur

Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad Pitch Report and Weather

It was a belter of a batting pitch earlier this week for the GT-PBKS match, where 475 runs were scored. Expect another excellent batting surface here, with the captain who wins the toss likely to choose to chase.

The average first innings score at Ahmedabad in IPL 2024 was 172.5. Scores ranged from as low as 89 to as high at 231. The chasing team won six of eight games.

A hot and clear evening is forecast with a top of around 33 degrees at 7:30pm local time.

GT vs MI Fantasy Cricket Tips: Top Picks/Key Players to Watch

Top wicket-keeper picks:

  • Jos Buttler is coming off a half-century in the opening game against PBKS (54 off 33 balls). He has never been dismissed by either Deepak Chahar (41 balls, 63 runs) or Trent Boult (50 balls, 79 runs) in T20s.
  • Ryan Rickelton was looking in sublime form against CSK with three magnificent shots off the backfoot. He was dismissed for just 13 in the end, but it was against the run of play. He also had a superb SA20 campaign earlier this year: 8 inns, 336 runs, avg. 48.00, SR 178.72.

Key batter picks:

  • Since the start of 2022, Shubman Gill has struck 274 runs against MI at an average of 54.80 and strike rate of 170.19. Also, Gill loves batting at Ahmedabad: 1,112 T20 runs, avg. 69.5, SR 164.74.
  • Since the start of 2024, Sai Sudharsan has struck 601 runs at an average of 50.1 and strike rate of 145.2 in the IPL. This includes a 41-ball 74 in the last game.
  • Suryakumar Yadav is a vc option in Dream11. SKY has outstanding numbers against GT, with 200 runs in four matches at an average of 66.67 and strike rate of 181.82. He has had the better of Rashid Khan (64 balls, 102 runs, no dismissal) and Mohammed Siraj (26 balls, 57 runs, one dismissal) in T20s.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Hardik Pandya is back and is a must-pick considering his form. Also, Pandya knows this ground very well with 351 runs (avg. 31.91, SR 137.65) and 12 wickets (econ. 7.45, SR 23.50).
  • Will Jacks batted at three and bowled four overs in MI’s first game. GT have a few left-handers MI could use Jacks’ offspin for.

Key bowler picks:

  • Rashid Khan is searching for his best form, but he remains too good to leave out of your Dream11 teams. He has taken ten wickets in his past five matches against MI. Also, he has smashed 91 runs at a strike rate of 233.33 with the bat in this time.
  • Kagiso Rabada has some decent matchups. He has dismissed Rohit Sharma four times (76 balls, 90 runs) and Suryakumar Yadav three times (55 balls, 87 runs) in the IPL.

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Tips

  • Consider Deepak Chahar. He is a powerplay specialist and has an excellent record against Shubman Gill in the IPL (55 balls, 78 runs, four wickets).
  • Trent Boult can find swing upfront and also comes back to bowl in the crunch overs, which provides wicket-taking opportunities.
  • Mitchell Santner can be a wicket-taking factor given the larger boundaries at Ahmedabad.

Other Stats and Important Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 5, GT 3, MI 2.
  • GT have beaten MI in all three meetings at this ground.
  • Jos Buttler in T20s at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad: 9 inns, 371 runs, avg. 53.00, SR 148.4.
  • Trent Boult vs Shubman Gill in the IPL: 58 balls, 59 runs, one dismissal.
  • Kagiso Rabada vs Hardik Pandya in the IPL: 37 balls, 53 runs, one dismissal.
  • Rashid Khan vs Tilak Varma in the IPL: 16 balls, 19 runs, two dismissals.

SRH vs LSG Twitter Reactions – Shardul Thakur 4/34, Pooran 70 (26) seals big win

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were given next to no chance of beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) away from home. It has been well documented that LSG’s bowling attack lacks experience and is decimated by injury, so SRH at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium looked a tough proposition.

However, the Indian Premier League (IPL) delivered again when it comes to unpredictability. SRH, who have smashed four of the five highest ever IPL totals since the start of last season, could not get going as many expected they would. 190/9 was a fantastic result for LSG, who courageously chose to field despite SRH’s strength of pummelling big totals batting first.

At the heart of the bowling effort was Shardul Thakur. The pacer, who went unsold in the mega auction and is only in the LSG side as Mohsin Khan’s injury replacement, delivered a both crunch stages of the innings. His superb head-to-head record against Abhishek Sharma continued thanks to excellent execution, before dismissing the in-form Ishan Kishan the very next ball, albeit somewhat fortunately down the legside.

Thakur’s 4/34 was underpinned by 11 dot balls. No other bowler delivered ten dot balls in the match, with the next highest nine by SRH skipper Pat Cummins. Cummins himself had a tough time as captain as his bowling counterparts went to every part of the stadium as Nicholas Pooran made the result a formality with his incredible 26-ball 70 that included six fours and six sixes.

Pooran is enjoying an incredible run of form. Since the start of last season, the left-hander has belted 644 runs in the IPL at an average of 64.4 and strike rate of 191.7. With the early wicket of Markram, SRH would have been hoping for more early inroads, but Pooran, along with Mitch Marsh, firmly slammed the door shut to help seal one of LSG’s finest wins in their short history.

SRH vs LSG Reactions: Fans praise Shardul Thakur, Nicholas Pooran for matchwinning performances

Skipper Rishabh Pant was bullish about his team’s chances. “Doesn’t matter how many they score, we’re going to chase it down,” he said at the toss. With even 300 spoken about as a possibility on social media, LSG’s attack delivered as a unit to restrict SRH.

Shardul Thakur: From unsold to Purple Cap holder

Shardul has taken six wickets from his two matches to sit atop the Purple Cap standings. While there is a long way to go this season, Thakur is one of the stories of the IPL so far given he went unsold.

Fans are thrilled to see Shardul performing well. “What a turnaround for Shardul Thakur. Unsold at auction but purple cap after two games. 4 wickets against the most dominant side on a good batting pitch. Swing at start, variations at death… Can’t keep him out of game,” wrote former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif.

Here are some more reactions to Thakur’s performance in the SRH vs LSG clash.

Nicholas Pooran produces another gem

The ball sailing into the second tier of the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium was a common sight in Pooran’s outstanding knock. By the time Pat Cummins dismissed him LBW in the ninth over, LSG had 120 and were well on the way to victory.

Pooran’s spin-hitting was on show once again. “Currently Nicholas Pooran is the best player of T20 format. Period!” wrote former India offspinner Harbhajan Singh.

LSG have had a decent start to IPL 2025, going down in a very close game against Delhi Capitals (DC) thanks to Vipraj-Ashutosh magic and then knocking off SRH. Their next game is against Punjab Kings at home on Tuesday.

Next up for SRH is a tough away game to DC in Visakhapatnam.

CSK vs RCB Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2025 8th Match

It’s time for the most awaited game of IPL 2025 – Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Although CSK is ahead of RCB on all fronts as a side, the rivalry has become one of the biggest in the tournament, especially after RCB knocked out CSK to reach the playoffs in IPL 2024. This game will be played at Chepauk on 28th March 2025.

CSK defeated the Mumbai Indians by four wickets on the back of an excellent bowling effort and match-winning knocks from Rachin Ravindra (65*) and Ruturaj Gaiwkad (53). Noor Ahmad picked up four wickets while Khaleel Ahmed picked up three.

Middle-order batting is a concern for CSK, but they have players who are capable enough to do well in that role. The likes of Shivam Dube, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi and Sam Curran will have to step up with the bat. The bowling looks good for the Super Kings with Khaleel Ahmed a wicket-taker in the powerplay, followed by the quality spin trio of Noor, Ashwin and Jadeja. Ellis is a fantastic defensive bowler towards the end phase as well.

RCB, meanwhile, also won their season opener against KKR quite comprehensively by seven wickets. Phil Salt (56 runs), Virat Kohli (59* runs) and Rajat Patidar (34 runs) helped their side over the line while chasing 176 runs. All three batters looked in sublime touch in the first game.

Krunal Pandya (3/29) was exceptional alongside Josh Hazlewood (2/22). These two pulled things back quite nicely after a loose start. However, it will be interesting to see how the RCB batters turn up against CSK’s spinners on a potentially slowish track. Patidar and Liam Livingstone will be the key batters for them in the middle overs in addition to the openers.

Both teams will be eyeing their second consecutive win in this game and it promises to be a thriller of a contest. In this article, we will look at the possible playing XIIs, Chepauk pitch report, fantasy tips and Dream11 Prediction for the 8th match of IPL 2025.

MA Chidambaram Stadium Chepauk Chennai Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch is expected to be a little two-paced. It got slower as the game progressed in the first match between CSK and MI. Powerplay was the best time to bat. There was little-to-no movement for the pacers with the new ball. The spinners will enjoy the conditions as there was ample turn and grip for them.

Scores in the range of 160-180 are expected. Teams are expected to prefer chasing but batting first won’t be a bad option at all. Middle-order batters will have to be on their toes against the spinners. Dew can be a factor in this match.

It will be a clear day with no chance of rain. The temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius at the start of the game. Humidity will be around 70-75%.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for CSK vs RCB: Top Picks/Key Players to Watch

Note: Try to pick more batters and all-rounders if you are playing on Dream11. The new point system rewards the batters heavily.

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Phil Salt scored 56 in the first game and will be a good fantasy pick here. Although he has had his struggles against CSK (20 runs in 3 innings at an average of 6.7), he will be the safest pick from the wicket-keeping section.

Key batter picks:

  • Ruturaj Gaiwkad looked in sublime touch in the MI game. He has a poor record against RCB (199 runs in 8 innings at an average of 28.40 with one fifty) but an excellent record at the venue in T20s: 759 runs in 16 innings at an average of 58.38 at a strike rate of 142.94 with six fifties and a hundred.
  • Shivam Dube has 234 runs in five innings against RCB at an average of 78 and has struck at 158.10 including a couple of fifties. He can be the game-changer in fantasy cricket for this game.
  • Virat Kohli has 1067 runs against CSK in 33 innings at an average of 36.80 including 9 fifties. Kohli is in great form at the moment and will be a good C/VC choice as well.
  • Rajat Patidar has 62 runs in three innings against CSK with a highest score of 41. Since the start of 2022, Patidar has scored 390 runs against spin in the IPL at an average of 65 and strike rate of 185.7.
  • Rachin Ravindra has 98 runs in two games against RCB including a score of 61. He has been in terrific form lately and will be a top C/VC pick. He can bowl a few overs in this game, if required.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Ravindra Jadeja has 358 runs and 26 wickets against RCB in 29 matches. He will be a key player for CSK with both bat and ball. Jadeja can be lethal if the ball starts gripping.
  • Liam Livingstone averages 39.70 against CSK in three innings for 119 runs. He has picked up two wickets as well. Livingstone is expected to bowl 2-4 overs in this game but he’ll have to be on his toes with the bat.

Key bowler picks:

  • Josh Hazlewood will be a key bowler for RCB. He has two wickets against CSK in three games. Hazlewood can trouble the CSK batters with his hard lengths.
  • Noor Ahmad has 4 wickets in three games against RCB. He will be confident coming into this game and can wreak havoc on his day, as he did with four wickets against MI. He’s a must in your fantasy teams.
  • Khaleel Ahmed has seven wickets in four games against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He will bowl the important overs for CSK and can chip in with a few wickets.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Rahul Tripathi averages 40.50 against RCB in 12 innings for his 324 runs with a couple of fifties. He will attack the bowlers from the word go and can fetch plenty of points on his day.
  • Krunal Pandya was superb against KKR, taking 3/29. He can be a factor on a Chepauk pitch which can turn. However, he has just six wickets in 11 T20s on this ground so far.

Other picks you can consider:

  • Deepak Hooda (GLs)
  • Sam Curran
  • Rasikh Salam/Yash Dayal (Bowling first)
  • Nathan Ellis (Bowling first)

The key to winning this game will be how well the batters can hold their composure. CSK’s spin attack can go through any batting line-up on their day while CSK’s batters will have to be cautious against Josh Hazlewood.

Virat Kohli, Phil Salt and Rajat Patidar will be the key batters for RCB. Overall, CSK looks better with bowling quality and batting depth and they should win this game.

SRH vs LSG Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report – IPL 2025 7th Match

The 7th match of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) could be anything. The batting powerhouse that is Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who arrive in Hyderabad with a depleted and inexperienced attack off the back of a heartbreaking loss against the Depital Capitals.

SRH have smashed four of the five highest IPL totals, including 286 on Sunday on this ground. So, logic says the powerful batting lineup will have their way with the LSG attack on a flat Hyderabad track. However, if there is anything we know about the IPL is that it can surprise us.

That’s what LSG will be hoping for. They have a powerful batting lineup of their own, with Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran showing what they are capable of a few nights ago. Also, SRH conceded plenty against Rajasthan Royals (RR), so LSG will be looking to do the same.

For SRH, a Travishek level start with the bat will put Rishabh Pant and LSG on the backfoot immediately, with little in the way of resources to keep SRH in check throughout the innings. Ishan Kishan is fresh off a maiden IPL ton, while Heinrich Klaasen can have a field day given LSG look to be relying more on spin with their pace stocks decimated.

In this article, we will look at the possible XIIs, Hyderabad pitch report, fantasy cricket tips and Dream11 Prediction for the 7th match of IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 7th Match: SRH vs LSG Possible Playing XIIs

Sunrisers Hyderabad could look to stick with the same XII that beat Rajasthan Royals. They will be after a better showing from the bowlers, including Pat Cummins himself who went for 60 in his four overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: 1 Abhishek Sharma, 2. Travis Head (OS), 3. Ishan Kishan, 4. Nitish Kumar Reddy, 5. Heinrich Klaasen (wk, OS), 6. Aniket Verma, 7. Abhinav Manohar, 8. Pat Cummins (c, OS), 9. Simarjeet Singh, 10. Harshal Patel, 11. Mohammed Shami, 12. Adam Zampa (impact)

Lucknow Super Giants could also stick with the same XII, although there is the option to bring in Shamar Joseph for Aiden Markram. Also, LSG should look at re-jigging their lineup to achieve more with the bat. Check out our opinion piece here.

Lucknow Super Giants: 1. Aiden Markram (OS), 2. Mitchell Marsh (OS), 3. Nicholas Pooran (OS), 4. Rishabh Pant (c & wk), 5. David Miller (OS), 6. Ayush Badoni, 7. Shardul Thakur, 8. Shahbaz Ahmed, 9. Ravi Bishnoi, 10. Digvesh Rathi, 11. Prince Yadav, 12. Manimaran Siddharth (impact)

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Hyderabad Pitch Report and Weather

Batting belter. Expect nothing else. The first innings score last season was 204. SRH smashed 286 on Sunday followed by 242 by RR in response.

Bowling first may be tempting with the possibility of dew. However, SRH may be willing to bat first given this is a big strength of theirs. LSG’s best chance is likely chasing.

A hot and clear night is forecast with a temperature in the mid-30s by the time the match starts.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for SRH vs LSG: Top Picks/Key Players to Watch

Top wicket-keeper picks:

  • Since the start of 2024, Nicholas Pooran has smashed 574 runs in the IPL at an average of 63.8 and strike rate of 185.2.
  • Against SRH, Pooran has scored 306 runs at an average of 38.25 and strike rate of 144.34. In three matches on this ground, Pooran has smashed 113 runs at a strike rate of 230.61.
  • Heinrich Klaasen can go big in this game, especially batting first. Since the start of 2024, he has hit 228 runs against spin in the IPL at a strike rate of 179.5.
  • Ishan Kishan is fresh off his maiden IPL ton. He has smashed 57 off 30 (no dismissal) against Shardul Thakur in the IPL.

Key batter picks:

  • Travis Head is the top Dream11 captaincy option. Since the start of last season, Head has smashed 634 runs in the IPL at an average of 42.3 and strike rate of 193.9. This includes his 31-ball 67 against RR last game.
  • Mitchell Marsh smashed 72 off 36 balls in the opening game. He enjoys pace on the ball and flat pitches.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Abhishek Sharma is a must-pick. Since the start of IPL 2024, Abhishek has belted 508 runs at an average of 31.8 and incredible strike rate of 204.8. He may also be required to bowl a few overs.

Top bowler picks:

  • Mohammed Shami has dismissed Mitch Marsh once in four balls (4 runs) and Aiden Markram once in 11 balls (17 runs) in the IPL.
  • Harshal Patel bowls in the crunch overs and is a genuine, consistent wicket-taker in the IPL. He has dismissed Rishabh Pant twice in 29 balls in the IPL (49 runs).

Other Players to Consider for your Fantasy Cricket Tips

  • Rishabh Pant missed out in the first game, but he can come good. The LSG captain has an excellent record against SRH: 16 inns, 536 runs, avg. 44.67, SR 146.45.
  • Nitish Kumar Reddy can come in for strong cameos or steady the ship if early wickets fall. Aiden Markram is another good pick given he bats up the order on a flat pitch. Plus, he knows this ground.
  • Shardul Thakur took two wickets in the first game. In terms of matchups, he has dismissed Abhishek Sharma twice in 14 balls in the IPL (16 runs). Also, LSG would be wise to use him immediately against Heinrich Klaasen, whom he has dismissed twice in 15 balls in the IPL.
  • David Miller can be a good differential pick. He has a good record in the IPL against Harshal Patel: 38 balls, 63 runs, no dismissal.

Other Stats & Key Matchups

  • Head-to-head: Matches 4, SRH 1, LSG 3.
  • Travis Head in T20s at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium: 7 inns, 271 runs, avg. 45.17, SR 183.11.
  • Aiden Markram in T20s at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium: 9 inns, 248 runs, avg. 35.43, SR 127.18.
  • Ravi Bishnoi vs Ishan Kishan in all T20s: 36 balls, 33 runs, four dismissals.
  • Ravi Bishnoi vs Heinrich Klaasen in all T20s: 19 balls, 30 runs, no dismissals.
  • Pat Cummins vs Nicholas Pooran in all T20s: 25 balls, 34 runs, no dismissals.
  • Pat Cummins vs Rishabh Pant in the IPL: 27 balls, 30 runs, one dismissal.

How LSG should sharpen batting to survive bowling shortfalls

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) boast a powerhouse batting lineup capable of dismantling opponents on their day. Yet, predictable patterns let opponents exploit matchups, while a fragile lower order whispers vulnerability.

With injuries crippling their pace attack, LSG’s best shot at success is to double down on their batting strengths while plugging tactical gaps. Promoting Rishabh Pant to open, unlocking Ayush Badoni’s potential higher up, and reinforcing the lower order with Abdul Samad could be game-changers. Here’s how LSG can fine-tune their lineup for maximum impact.

LSG’s XII from the clash against Delhi Capitals

Aiden Markram (OS), Mitchell Marsh (OS), Nicholas Pooran (OS), Rishabh Pant (c & wk), David Miller (OS), Ayush Badoni, Shardul Thakur, Shahbaz Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi, Digvesh Singh, Prince Yadav, Manimaran Siddharth (impact)

The right-handed overseas opening pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh brings undeniable prowess against pace, but their susceptibility to away-spin — particularly left-arm orthodox — offers opponents a clear containment strategy. Recognising this, and noting LSG’s left-hand-heavy middle order, Axar Patel immediately brought himself on and delivered two tight overs in the Powerplay.

Following them, a left-hand-dominant middle order featuring Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant, and David Miller packs a punch, excelling against left-arm spin and leg-spin. However, they could stumble against quality off-spin, provided it’s not the part-time variety like Tristan Stubbs. The top five brim with explosive firepower, but they’d need at least one to bat deep into the death overs, given the shaky lower order trailing behind.

That lower order, both inexperienced and lacking quality, adds to LSG’s vulnerabilities — further compounded by an underwhelming and injury-hit pace attack. With Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, and Akash Deep sidelined by injury, the pace unit feels nearly non-existent and raises serious questions about the team’s auction strategy. Why they failed to secure a quality overseas pacer remains a mystery, leaving LSG overly reliant on a decent but not match-defining spin unit. Ravi Bishnoi, Manimaran Siddharth, Digvesh Singh, and Markram’s part-time off-spin provide some balance, but without a stronger pace backbone, the bowling risks unravelling under pressure, forcing their explosive batting to carry an outsized load.

A Game-Changing Idea for LSG Batting: Open with Rishabh Pant

One way to shake up LSG’s approach is to open with Rishabh Pant alongside Mitchell Marsh. Here’s the case:

Benefits:

  1. Disrupting the Right-Handed Opening Pair: Markram and Marsh excel against pace but can be tied down by left-arm spin. Pant’s left-handed flair breaks that pattern, forcing bowlers to adapt.
  2. Balancing the Middle Order: The Pooran-Pant-Miller left-hand cluster risks predictability. Opening Pant creates left-right switches throughout, unsettling opposition plans.
  3. Maximising Pant’s Strengths: Pant’s struggles with deliveries outside off are well-documented. The Powerplay’s field restrictions suit his attacking game, and a settled Pant could dominate the middle overs.

Drawback:

  1. Markram’s Shift: Moving Markram to number 4 or 5 isn’t ideal, but he’s no stranger to it. For South Africa, he’s opened in just seven of 53 T20 innings, spending most of his time at number 4 or 5. Even in the IPL, the game against DC marked his first time opening, as he primarily batted in the middle order for SRH.

Overall, the upside far outweighs the downside.

Bolstering the Lower Order: Abdul Samad’s Case

Manimaran Siddharth, the 26-year-old left-arm spinner from Tamil Nadu, made waves last season by claiming Virat Kohli as his maiden IPL wicket. Back then, he leaned heavily on arm-balls, delivered with an index finger grip and an upright seam angled toward fine leg, consistently swinging the ball into right-handers at speeds topping 100kph.

This season, Siddharth has elevated his game. Beyond his natural skid, he’s now extracting sharp turn and bounce – adding another dimension to his bowling.

With Siddharth capably filling the left-arm spinner’s role, LSG could seize the opportunity to drop Shahbaz Ahmed and slot Abdul Samad into the number 7 spot to strengthen their fragile lower order.

Samad, early in his career, showed impressive pace-hitting ability. Though his sample size remains small, he boasts an average of 44.5 and a strike rate of 240.5 against short-length deliveries from pacers in the IPL.

Elevating Ayush Badoni

Ayush Badoni at number 6 feels like a waste. His crisp shot-making and game against spin suit number 3 or 4, where he could float based on matchups or wickets. Batting at number 3 in the DPL, he scored 522 runs for the South Delhi Superstarz at a blistering strike rate of 225. Batting him higher pushes Markram and Miller down, fortifying the lower order — a win-win.

The Optimised Batting Order

1. Rishabh Pant, 2. Mitchell Marsh, 3. Ayush Badoni (situation-dependent), 4. Nicholas Pooran, 5. Aiden Markram, 6. David Miller, 7. Abdul Samad, 8. Shardul Thakur

RR vs KKR Dream11 Prediction Possible XIs Pitch Report – IPL 2025 6th Match

Rajasthan Royals (RR) will face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 6th match of IPL 2025. Both sides lost their first respective games this season and will be eager to open their account in this match. This game will be played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Assam on 26th March.

RR lost their first game by 44 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Their bowlers had nowhere to hide as SRH scored a mammoth 286 runs. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel were excellent for the Royals but a top-order collapse meant they fell short of the target.

Tushar Deshpande was the best bowler for RR and Theekshana also bowled well. Jofra Archer was very expensive and Fazalhaq Farooqi too failed to make an impact. Rajasthan’s batting looked good with Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey stepping up with the bat, but they’ll have to be on their toes in the bowling department.

The defending champions, KKR lost their first game against RCB by seven wickets. Phil Salt and Virat Kohli decimated their bowling as they chased down 174 runs quite easily. Sunil Narine regained his form while Ajinkya Rahane’s fifty was inspiring. None of the other batters got going in the first game. They will need the likes of Rinku Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell and Quinton de Kock to contribute consistently with the bat.

All the bowlers, except Sunil Narine, including Varun Chakaravarthy were quite expensive for KKR. Harshit Rana created chances but they failed to capitalise on them. KKR will be eager to regroup as a team and come back strongly in this match.

IPL 2025 6th Match: RR vs KKR Probable Playing XIIs

RR may bring in Wanindu Hasaranga for Maheesh Theekshana or Jofra Archer.

Rajasthan Royals: 1. Sanju Samson, 2. Yashasvi Jaiswal, 3. Nitish Rana, 4. Riyan Parag (c), 5. Dhruv Jurel (wk), 6. Shimron Hetmyer, 7. Shubham Dubey, 8. Wanindu Hasaranga, 9.  Jofra Archer/Maheesh Theekshana, 10. Tushar Deshpande, 11. Sandeep Sharma 12. Fazalhaq Farooqi (Impact)

KKR is expected to be unchanged for this match.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 1. Quinton de Kock, 2. Sunil Narine, 3. Ajinkya Rahane (c), 4. Venkatesh Iyer, 5. Angkrish Raghuvanshi, 6. Rinku Singh, 7. Andre Russell, 8. Ramandeep Singh, 9. Harshit Rana, 10. Spencer Johnson, 11. Varun Chakaravarthy 12. Vaibhav Arora (Impact)

Barsapara Cricket Stadium Guwahati Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch is expected to be a good one for batting as it is for most of the venues in the league. There will be some movement for the pacers with the new ball and spinners will also get some assistance off the deck. Overall, the batters are expected to dominate the game.

Scores in the range of 180-200 are expected with teams preferring to chase if they win the toss. In a T20I in November 2023, Australia chased down India’s 222. Last season, Punjab Kings chased Rajasthan’s 144 with ease.

The weather will be clear with no chance of rain. The temperature will be around 32 degrees Celsius at the game time.

Fantasy Cricket Tips for RR vs KKR: Top Picks/Key Players to Watch

Note: Try to pick more batters and all-rounders if you are playing on Dream11. The new point system rewards the batters heavily.

Top Wicket-Keeper Picks:

  • Sanju Samson scored 66 in the first game against SRH. He looked in great touch despite not being 100% fit. Samson has 529 runs against KKR at an average of 29.40 including three fifties.
  • Quinton de Kock has 389 runs in 12 innings against the Royals at an average of 35.40 with three fifties. De Kock has struggled to get going in recent times but will be a good fantasy pick.
  • Dhruv Jurel justified his price tag in the first match. He scored 70 in just 35 deliveries. Jurel’s form is a great sign for the Royals going forward. He will be a top fantasy pick.

Key batter picks:

  • Yashasvi Jaiswal has 139 runs against KKR in four innings including a 98 run knock back in 2023. Jaiswal got out early but he can score big on his day. He will be a must in your fantasy teams.
  • Ajinkya Rahane scored 56 off 31 in the first game. He has a poor record against Rajasthan but based on his current form and RR’s new ball attack, Rahane will fancy his chances of a big score.

Top all-rounder picks:

  • Riyan Parag was dismissed cheaply in the first game but he will be a key batter for the Royals and a must in your fantasy teams. He is a good player of spin bowling and likes to bat aggressively. He also fields in the hotspot positions.
  • Andre Russell didn’t bowl in the first game against RCB but he can score big on his day and win games on his own. Russell will be a good fantasy pick but you can take the risk of dropping in Mini GLs or GLs.
  • Sunil Narine scored 106 against Rajasthan in IPL 2024. He scored 44 in the first match. Narine has picked up 14 wickets in 19 innings against RR. He will fetch points from both bat and ball which makes him a top fantasy pick.

Key bowler picks:

  • Varun Chakaravarthy is among the most in-form bowlers in world cricket. He picks up wickets in clusters when he gets going. He has nine wickets in seven games against Rajasthan at an economy of 7.40.
  • Tushar Deshpande has five wickets in five games against the Knight Riders. He picked up three wickets against them in the last season playing for CSK. Deshpande was the best bowler for the Royals in the first game.

Other Players to Consider for Your Fantasy Cricket Team

  • Nitish Rana will bat at 3 for the Royals. He has four fifties against SRH in 16 innings for his 546 runs at an average of 34.10. He may roll his arm over if required. A top fantasy pick who will be a game-changer on his day.
  • Wanindu Hasaranga has six wickets in three games against KKR. He is expected to play this match. Hasaranga is handy with the bat as well and will be a must in fantasy cricket if he plays this game.
  • Wanindu has also kept Andre Russell quiet in domestic T20s (26 balls, 27 runs, 1 wicket). Given Russell was dismissed by legspin in the first game, RR will likely try Hasaranga against him.

Other picks you can consider:

  • Shubham Dubey (GLs)
  • Venkatesh Iyer
  • Harshit Rana (Bowling first)
  • Sandeep Sharma (Bowling first)

Other Matchups and Facts

  • Head to Head: RR (14), KKR (14)
  • Sanju Samson vs Sunil Narine (T20s): 82 deliveries, 66 runs, 3 dismissals.
  • Quinton de Kock vs Sandeep Sharma (T20s): 35 deliveries, 43 runs, 2 dismissals.
  • Quinton de Kock vs Jofra Archer (T20s): 52 deliveries, 100 runs, 3 dismissals.

IPL 2025 6th Match: RR vs KKR Match Prediction: Who will win?

Kolkata Knight Riders’ middle order looked rusty in the first game. Meanwhile, Rajasthan’s bowlers took a lot of beating against SRH. The conditions are not expected to be as flat as in Hyderabad and Rajasthan’s batters looked in good touch. It’s expected to be a close contest but I believe Rajasthan Royals will win this match.

DC vs LSG Twitter Reactions – Ashutosh Sharma 66 (31) pulls off heist

Delhi Capitals (DC) have pulled off a heist in their opening match of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), coming from nowhere to chase 209 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Visakhapatnam. Ashutosh Sharma, considered one of the buys of the IPL 2025 mega auction, showed why in a magnificent display of finishing, leading his team to victory with an unbeaten 66 off just 31 balls.

The fact DC won this game is quite remarkable. They were in all sorts of trouble right throughout the game. LSG reached 133/1 in just 11.4 overs. They then brought up 160 in the 13th over as Pooran (75 off 30 balls) smashed 28 off a single Tristan Stubbs over. Mitchell Marsh (72 off 36 balls) also dominated the DC attack.

However, as written in our DC IPL 2025 Season Preview, their death bowling is a strength. LSG managed just 39 runs in the last five overs, which assistant coach Lance Klusener believing the team “probably left 20 or 30 runs with the bat out there.” Mitchell Starc’s wicket of Pooran and Kuldeep Yadav’s magnificent spell were particularly important to keep DC in the contest.

That being said, LSG were still in a great position to win with 209 on the board. They reduced DC to 7/3 in the first ten balls. By the seventh over, the Capitals had lost five wickets, including key players Axar Patel and Faf du Plessis. Tristan Stubbs’ wicket in the 13th over, which left DC reeling at 113/6, looked to be curtains.

However, DC’s finishing, also considered a strength heading into the season, came to the fore. Firstly, Vipraj Nigam was superb on debut. His 15-ball 39 provided the Capitals with hope of a miracle chase. Then, Ashutosh Sharma took over, going from 20 (20) to 61 (31) to pull off a stunning victory.

DC vs LSG Twitter Reactions: Capitals chase 210 in memorable fashion

Ashutosh Sharma 66 (31) and Vipraj Nigam stun LSG

Ashutosh very nearly ran out of partners. He and Mitchell Starc took a questionable quick single at the end of the 17th over which put Starc back on strike. The left-hander was dismissed next ball to leave DC eight down and at risk of being bowled out. Kuldeep Yadav was then run out attempting a quick single to get Ashutosh on strike, before Mohit Sharma scrambled a single after surviving an LBW and missed stumping. Next ball, Ashutosh sealed the win with another superb six.

Fans praised Ashutosh Sharma for his innings of 66 and criticised Punjab Kings (PBKS) for releasing him. “So glad IPL is back. Entertainment every night. Dehli down and out but found a way to get over the line,” wrote Albie Morkel.

Rishabh Pant in the spotlight after missed opportunities

LSG had chances to win. The biggest came in the final over where Rishabh Pant missed a stumping off Mohit Sharma, which would have sealed an LSG win. Mohit was done by an excellent delivery by Shahbaz Ahmed that spun away, caught the back pad and then burst out of Rishabh’s gloves with the number 11 batter overbalancing out of his crease.

Next ball, LSG inexplicably let a quick single through to enable Ashutosh to get back on strike. Also, LSG not bowling Shardul Thakur in the crunch overs came in for criticism from fans.

Rishabh Pant looked a forlorn figure as Ashutosh’s fifth six sealed a DC win, after his own six-ball duck represented a tough outing for the new LSG captain. Fans were critical of his performance, but it should be remembered it is only one game and Pant has it in him to bounce back.

Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran and Kuldeep Yadav also star in thrilling game

Marsh and Pooran were superb. Their six-hitting was a sight to behold. They set up a magnificent platform for LSG to get 230+, but it wasn’t to be.

One reason it didn’t eventuate was Kuldeep Yadav. The spinner was magnificent on an excellent batting pitch, taking 2/20 off his four overs including an incredible 15 dot balls.

DC walk away with the win but know there is plenty of room for improvement. KL Rahul could be back next game after he and his wife happily welcomed their first child. They take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at this venue next Sunday in what promises to be a cracking clash.

Next up for LSG is arguably the toughest test in the league – SRH at Hyderadabad – on Thursday. SRH are fresh off smashing 286 against RR and have the inexperienced LSG attack in their sights.
