KKR vs GT Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report IPL 2023 Match 39 | KOL vs GT Dream11 Prediction Today | Eden Gardens Pitch Report

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 39th match of IPL 2023 at the iconic Eden Gardens. Both teams will be high on confidence after winning their last games.

KKR finally managed to break their losing streak after a thumping victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 21 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. They fired in tandem, something that was missing earlier in the tournament. The form of Jason Roy will please KKR, while their spinners have been fantastic throughout the competition.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 55 runs at their home ground. They were clinical in all the departments, which is an ominous sign for the opponents. Their team is shaping up nicely now, with several match-winners in the rank.

The last time these two teams met, Rinku Singh pulled off the heist to end all heists. What does this match have in store for us?

CA allows BBL teams to sign marquee Aussie players outside salary cap

Cricket News: CA allows BBL teams to sign marquee Aussie players outside salary cap | How much is the BBL salary cap?

Cricket Australia (CA) is set to allow Big Bash League (BBL) clubs to rope in nationally-contracted players outside of their salary cap, ESPNcricinfo reports. Players can thus sign up for these BBL clubs on a marquee supplementary list provided they aren’t going to be playing. The cricketer can be included in the team’s full-time squad to play the games provided their circumstances change during the time of the season.

These changes are coming about as certain tweaks are being made in both the men’s and the women’s BBL. Therefore, the most expensive overseas player will get AU$420,000 and AU$110,000 in the men’s and women’s BBL respectively. The top six men’s and women’s earners will each pocket AU$200,000 and AU$50,000 respectively.

Cricket News: CA allows BBL teams to sign marquee Aussie players outside salary cap | How much is the BBL salary cap?
Steve Smith had a superb BBL 2022/23 campaign.

There is no limit on the nationally contracted players who can be recruited inside the AU$3 million cap for each club as a part of their 18-player squad. Two additional players of that pedigree can be signed up and all of them will obtain a standard deal of AU$50,000. Their AU$50,000 contract and AU$30,000 match fees will start getting counted to the cap only if they make any appearances during the course of the BBL season.

This will ensure that clubs do not have to devote a significant amount of their spending purse to players who will be engaged in the national team Test matches during the course of the Australian summer. However, stars like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Steve Smith among others can continue to be associated with the clubs for marketing material.

“It’s always our ambition for as many of those players to be part of the BBL as possible. We hope that the mechanisms will enable clubs to sign players even if they are either unlikely or not available. Because having them around the BBL and ready if available, is a really important part of the competition for us,” Alistair Dobson, General Manager, Big Bash League, was quoted in a report by the aforementioned website.

RR vs CSK Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report IPL 2023 Match 37

RR vs CSK Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report IPL 2023 Match 37 | RR vs CHE Dream11 Prediction Today | Jaipur Pitch Report

Two of the impressive teams in IPL 2023 do battle in what promises to be a cracking contest. Earlier this season, Sandeep Sharma held his nerve against a fast finishing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a memorable match, where Rajasthan Royals (RR) prevailed by three runs.

So, what does this clash have in store for us? Ajinkya Rahane has pulled off a turnaround that needs to be seen to be believed. Shivam Dube is producing the goods. Also, the CSK attack, widely believed to be lacking experience and death-bowling nous, is delivering under pressure. MS Dhoni’s team run into a classy RR team, but the Royals have found ways to lose from winning positions at times so the yellow army has a strong chance here.

Sanju Samson’s team is coming off two straight defeats, falling short in two very achievable run chases against LSG and RCB respectively. They have often been in good positions, but one or two slow contributions in the batting lineup has hurt. Today, a good team display with the bat and ball is key against a confident CSK team.

Match Details

  • Location: Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
  • Time: 7:30pm (IST).
  • Most recent match for both teams: RR lost to RCB by seven runs, CSK beat KKR by 49 runs.
  • For more cricket fixtures around the world, visit Fixture Calendar.

IPL 2023 Match 37: RR vs CSK Possible Playing XIs

Devdutt Padikkal played quite well against RCB, so he could hold the number three spot.

Rajasthan Royals (possible Impact Player substitute in bold italic): 1. Yashasvi Jaiswal, 2. Jos Buttler (OS), 3. Devdutt Padikkal, 4. Sanju Samson (c & wk), 5. Shimron Hetmyer (OS), 6. Dhruv Jurel, 7. R Ashwin, 8. Jason Holder (OS), 9. Trent Boult (OS), 10. Sandeep Sharma, 11. Yuzvendra Chahal, 12. Riyan Parag/Kuldeep Sen/Abdul Basith

CSK may stick with the same winning combination.

Chennai Super Kings (possible Impact Player substitute in bold italic): 1. Ruturaj Gaikwad, 2. Devon Conway (OS), 3. Ajinkya Rahane, 4. Shivam Dube, 5. Moeen Ali (OS), 6. Ambati Rayudu, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. MS Dhoni (c & wk), 9. Matheesha Pathirana (OS), 10. Tushar Deshpande, 11. Maheesh Theeshana (OS), 12. Akash Singh

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Rajasthan Royals:

  • Jos Buttler scored a half-century against CSK on April 12, but has since scored two ducks in three innings. Buttler can bounce back today given he loves batting on this ground, with 474 runs in 11 innings at an average of 52.67 and strike rate of 137.79.
  • Since the start of 2018, Buttler has smashed 319 runs vs Chennai (avg. 53.17, SR 146.33).
  • Yashasvi Jaiswal strikes at 158.23 in four matches against CSK (125 runs).
  • Sanju Samson has struggled against Super Kings. He has scored 208 runs in 14 innings at an average of 14.86 and strike rate of 118.86.
  • R Ashwin has won man of the match in his last two matches vs CSK. Back on April 12, he scored 30 (22) and took 2/25, where he dismissed key duo Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube.
  • Ashwin has the better of Rahane in the IPL. In 42 balls, the offspinner has dismissed him five times for 52 runs.
  • Trent Boult has dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad three times in 24 balls in the IPL. Also, Boult has taken seven wickets in the powerplay this season at an economy of 6.07.

Chennai Super Kings:

  • Ajinkya Rahane is in dream form. He is striking at a magnificent 199.04 in IPL 2023, with his latest knock a breathtaking 29-ball 71* against KKR.
  • Rahane returns to a ground he has enjoyed success at. He has the most runs in T20s at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, with 1,323 runs at an average of 41.34 and strike rate of 121.04.
  • Devon Conway has struck four half-centuries in a row. He is CSK’s leading run-scorer this season with 314 at an average of 52.33.
  • Shivam Dube is CSK’s key player in the middle overs. The left-hander has smashed two consecutive half-centuries.

  • Akash Singh vs Yashasvi Jaiswal shapes up to be an interesting battle. Since the start of 2022, Jaiswal has been dismissed six times in 84 balls by left-arm seam (123 runs).
  • Tushar Deshpande has taken at least one wicket in six of his seven matches this season. One of them was Yashasvi Jaiswal, where he dismissed the left-hander with a short-pitched delivery. Expect him to try that tactic again.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 28, RR 13, CSK 15.
  • Royals have won the past three matches between the two teams.
  • Jadeja vs Samson in the IPL: 43 balls, 64 runs, three dismissals.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal career record vs CSK: 15 matches, 18 wickets, avg. 22.17, econ. 6.88.
  • MS Dhoni vs Royals: 25 inns, 556 runs, avg. 39.71, SR 128.11.

Sawai Mansingh Stadium Jaipur Pitch Report and Weather

The pitch was on the slower side for the LSG-RR match back on 19 April. LSG fought hard to reach 154, which they defended thanks to effective changes of pace from their seamers. In this clash, expect deliveries into the surface to be used.

The average first innings score was just 125.91 in T20s on this ground in 2022. Legbreak bowlers were the most economical (slightly over six runs per over), while fast bowlers were most expensive at eight runs per over.

Under lights, we can expect a truer pitch. The average first innings score in the 2018 IPL was 161.2 followed by 163.43 in 2019. The chasing team won 64.3% of the matches across both those seasons.

Cloud cover is expected, so dew may be minimal. There is a small chance of showers according to Google, but AccuWeather predicts 0% precipitation.

India WTC final squad: Ajinkya Rahane included

Cricket News: India WTC final squad: Ajinkya Rahane included | Ajinkya Rahane back in India Test squad

Former India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has made a comeback to the Test team for the World Test Championship (WTC) finale against Australia at the Oval from June 7.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad on Tuesday morning with Rahane’s inclusion headlining the news. The 34-year-old last played a Test in January 2022 against South Africa at Newlands. He has since then been sidelined from the national team.

However, an incredible ongoing run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) helped spark rumours that he could get a look-in the Test squad.

Rahane has been consistent in turning up for Mumbai in the domestic circuit in his time away from international cricket. He led the team in the Ranji Trophy this year. To add to that, Rahane’s terrific pedigree in international cricket with Test centuries in New Zealand, England, Australia and West Indies justifies his selection in the roster.

On Sundary, Rahane slammed 71 runs off 29 deliveries in a power-packed swashbuckling knock against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens. He has struck 209 runs at a strike rate of 199.04 in five IPL games so far but it has been his approach more than the outcome that seems to have played a role in him getting selected in the WTC squad.

Rahane has timed the ball sublimely and played proper cricketing shots to derive boundaries at will in all the games so far. He has carved out gaps at will in powerplay and carried on that intent even when the field is spread out. Complement that with his sound batting technique and experience of having toured England thrice and Rahane had already broken the selection door down at a very appropriate time.

The other two talking points from the WTC squad are the selection of KL Rahul as the possible second-choice wicketkeeper-batsman and Shardul Thakur’s return to the Test setup.

India squad for WTC final:

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat

Explained: IPL slow over rate rule and penalties

Cricket News: How does the IPL slow over rate rule work? | Explained: IPL slow over rate rule and penalties

Delhi Capitals (DC) captain David Warner was fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during the team’s bowling against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday.

On Sunday, the league fined Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) stand-in skipper Virat Kohli Rs 24 lakh for a similar offence during the team’s match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Why was there a difference in the penalty levelled on Warner and Kohli and what does the IPL rules about this issue state?

According to the regulations, each team is supposed to complete their quota of 20 overs in 90 minutes. This includes space for both the strategic timeouts ranging two-and-a-half minutes each. However, the time that is gone in DRS reviews as well as umpire reviews and player injuries is not counted within the ambit of these 90 minutes.

The IPL rules say that the bowling team captain is fined Rs 12 lakh in the first instance of this offence. On the second occasion, a penalty of Rs 24 lakh is levied on the skipper.

Moreover, charges are also imposed on other players of the team barring the captain during the second offence. They are fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of their match fees, whichever is lesser. This penalty is also imposed on the impact players participating in the game.

The charges begin piling up as the frequency of the offence increases. On the third instance, the captain has to pay a fine of Rs 30 lakh and is also banned for a game. The players involved in the match also have to pay up Rs 12 lakh or 50 per cent of their match fee, whichever is lesser.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can also impose sanctions on a captain who temporarily hands over leadership responsibilities onto another player to escape the ban.

RCB vs KKR Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2023 Match 36

RCB vs KKR Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2023 Match 36 | RCB vs KOL Dream11 Prediction Today | Bengaluru Pitch Report

Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) season is on life support. After Rinku Singh pulled off the heist to end all heists, KKR have lost four straight matches and have struggled in all of them. Their last outing was a thrashing, with Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube having their way against a Kolkata attack that is struggling to contain. Also, their inability to stick to a set opening combination has seem them lose powerplay wickets on a regular basis.

Now, the task doesn’t get much easier. Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell are in magnificent form for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and KKR need to find a way to keep them and Virat Kohli in check on the batting paradise that is the M Chinnaswamy. But, the silver lining for Nitish Rana’s team is that RCB have struggled with the bat outside of the Kohli-du Plessis-Maxwell trio, so early wickets can prove crucial.

For RCB, they have the chance to move into the top four with victory here. They lost to KKR earlier in the season after ripping through their top order, so how they respond in this clash will be interesting to see. Given how the Knight Riders are playing, plus the form of RCB’s key players including Mohammed Siraj, it is a great opportunity for Bangalore to get into the playoffs’ spots.

Match Details

  • Location: M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

List of fastest 50s in IPL history

Cricket News: List of fastest 50s in IPL history | The top five fastest 50s in IPL history: Who has scored the fastest fifty in the IPL?

Over the years, the record for the fastest half-century has been shattered numerous times in the Indian Premier League (IPL). At times, it has been done by openers looking for a quick start to their innings. On other occasions, it is by middle-order power hitters making a mockery of run chases.

Fastest 50s in the IPL

Nevertheless, these innings have delighted the spectators en masse. CricBlog takes a relook at six of the fastest 50s smashed in the history of the IPL.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (13 deliveries)

The night of 11 May 2023 was a historic one. Young gun Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed the fastest fifty ever in the IPL, taking just 13 balls to bring up the milestone against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.

The talented left-hander took advantage of Nitish Rana’s decision to bowl himself in the first over, plus Rana’s unnecessary overthrow in the following over. In the end, Jaiswal finished with 98* as the Royals chased KKR’s 149 with a massive nine wickets and 41 balls to spare.

KL Rahul (14 deliveries)

KL Rahul was a marquee acquisition by Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018. He set the ball rolling right from the offset by hitting the fastest ever half-century in the league against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali.

Chasing 166, Rahul got off to a flier as he hit six boundaries and four sixes to get to 51 in 14 deliveries before being dismissed by Trent Boult in the fifth over. At a strike rate of 318.75, Rahul had already steered his team to a touching distance of victory and the home team secured the two points by finishing off the chase in the 19th over.

Pat Cummins (14 deliveries)

Australian pacer Pat Cummins equalled Rahul’s record whilst representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Pune in April 2022.

KKR were chasing 162 and were in trouble at 101/5 in the 14th over. In walked Pat Cummins with a clear intent to finish off the game as quickly as possible and reached his half-century in just 14 deliveries. In the process, he helped KKR win the game at the end of the 16th over itself. Cummins got the Player of the Match award of his incredible batting effort (56* off 15 balls) coupled with the two wickets he took with the ball.

Yusuf Pathan (15 deliveries)

Yusuf Pathan used to be one of the certified original superstars of the IPL. One of his most iconic knocks came against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) away from home in 2014. KKR were chasing 162 and were in a tricky spot at 55-2 in the eighth over when Pathan arrived to the crease.

What followed was absolute carnage as Pathan reached his fifty in 15 balls. The all-rounder from Baroda struck seven sixes in addition to five boundaries to get to 72 in merely 22 deliveries and enable KKR to win the game in the 15th over.

Sunil Narine (15 deliveries)

This was about the same time that Sunil Narine’s big-hitting promise was getting noticed across the world. KKR had promoted Narine to open along with Chris Lynn and the southpaw hit the homerun straightaway by notching a half-century in merely 15 deliveries against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in 2017.

KKR were chasing only 159 but the initial onslaught ensured that they reached the target within 16 overs. Narine smashed six boundaries and four sixes as he maximised the scoring opportunities at RCB’s home ground.

Nicholas Pooran (15 deliveries)

Nicholas Pooran pulled off one of the greatest chasing heists in the IPL as he hit 62 runs in 19 deliveries to lead the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to victory against the RCB in Bengaluru in IPL 2023.

Faf du Plessis’ men had given them a target of 213 and LSG looked pretty much out of the contest at 105/5 in the 11th over. However, Pooran had other plans as he sent seven balls over the boundary line in addition to four fours to first get to his half-century in 15 deliveries. Acquired for Rs 16 crore in the auction, the Caribbean superstar gave a good reminder of his capabilities with this herculean effort.

GT vs MI Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2023 Match 35

GT vs MI Dream11 Prediction Possible 11 Pitch Report: IPL 2023 Match 35 | GT vs MI Dream11 Prediction Today | Ahmedabad Pitch Report

In 2022, Gujarat Titans (GT) pulled off heists when chasing. After being on the wrong end of some unexpected results this season – especially at the hands of Rinku Singh – GT got one back, this time when defending against Lucknow Super Giants.

With 31 needed off 36 balls and nine wickets in hand, GT were staring defeat in the face. But, a stirring fightback – the kind we’ve become accustomed to from GT – helped them steal a victory out of nowhere. However, they were helped at times by inept LSG batting, so a stronger performance from the outset is key in fighting off a dangerous Mumbai Indians (MI) team.

MI had their three-match winning streak broken at the hands of Punjab Kings. Despite the return of Jofra Archer, Rohit Sharma’s team struggled to contain with the ball, which will be of key focus today. Indeed, what they can hold heart in is the runs they are producing, and it will be fascinating to see how they fare against one of the strongest attacks in the league.

Match Details

  • Location: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

A very hot and mostly clear evening is forecast. We can expect some dew, so the captain who wins the toss is likely to field.

KKR vs CSK Twitter reactions: Ajinkya Rahane continues dream season

Cricket News: KKR vs CSK Twitter reactions: Ajinkya Rahane continues dream season | Twitter reactions to 71 off 29 balls by Ajinkya Rahane

Considered the anchoriest of anchors, Ajinkya Rahane has embarked on a transformation no one could have seen coming. CSK’s number three took the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) attack apart on their own patch, smashing six fours and five sixes in 29 balls en route to an unbeaten 71. He and Shivam Dube (50 off 21 balls) combined for 85 in 5.3 overs to blow KKR away, with Chennai finishing on 235/4 and eventually winning by a mammoth 49 runs.

Before this season, Rahane’s 4,074 IPL runs came at a strike rate of 120.70. This year, he has hammered 209 runs at a strike rate of 199.04. To achieve such a change at 34 is quite unbelievable, and CSK look all the more dangerous because of it. MS Dhoni’s team has shot up to the top of the league after their seven matches, with a healthy net run rate of 0.662 to boot.

KKR vs CSK Twitter reactions: Ajinkya Rahane & CSK dominate the Knight Riders at Eden Gardens

Fans were full of praise for Rahane and CSK. “Having the freedom to go out there & given a free licence to express yourself irrespective of what happens has been the mantra of this CSK side under MS Dhoni & Stephen Fleming. It was Moeen Ali in the last two seasons & this year it’s Rahane,” one tweet read. “Never ever write off such champion cricketers. Because all they know is how to make a grand comeback and silence their critics with such sublime batting,” read another.

Ian Bishop put it perfectly. “This is a really impressive transformation in T20 batting by Ajinkya Rahane. I didn’t know he had all this in his “bag”. A great lesson that transformation can take place even at a later stage once the mind is willing and the attitude follows,” he tweeted.

Here are some of the reactions from an excellent display by Rahane and CSK.
