There always seems to be drama in a Sydney Thunder game. Australia has been short on rain in recent times, but the Thunder have had two rain-affected games this season, along with an abandoned game due to smoke.

Today, rain could play spoilsport again as welcome wet weather is forecast for Sydney right throughout Saturday.

This affects Sydney Sixers, too, who are aiming for a top two spot. Their aspirations were harmed a little by their own abandoned game a couple of nights ago at the SCG; they will be hoping there is enough game-time to try and get a victory in BBL09’s second Sydney Smash.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Daniel Hughes is the current leading run-scorer for Sixers in Sixers-Thunder matches: 311 runs, avg. 77.75, SR: 123.41.
  • Tom Curran was the star in the earlier meeting between the teams this season. He took 2/23 and scored a rapid 35 to take the game into a Super Over.
  • Curran scored 62 (40) and took 3/24 at the Sydney Showground Stadium last season. In total, he has 97 runs and seven wickets in three games vs Thunder.
  • Last game vs Renegades, Daniel Sams went wicketless for the first time in BBL09. However, he remains the leading wicket-taker in the competition, and took 3/30 in the corresponding game last season.
  • Sams at Sydney Showground this season: 3/25, 2/24 and 2/29.
  • Usman Khawaja has not been in the best form. His last five scores: 1, 11, 33, 35 and 0. However, he averages 46 in in six innings vs Sixers.
  • Callum Ferguson is also on a run of low scores. However, he was very unluckily run out off the bowler last game. His 52 (42) earlier the season vs Sixers gave the Thunder a competitive total.
  • The two Alex’s for Thunder are in some good touch. Alex Hales has 132 runs in his past four knocks, averaging 43.00. Alex Ross took 26 off one Mohammad Nabi over last game, and has fine numbers this season: 217 runs at 43.40, SR 137.34.
  • Moises Henriques vs Thunder: 280 runs at 40.00, SR: 132.08.
  • Lloyd Pope took 3/23 vs Thunder earlier this season. However, Nathan Lyon is back and could take his spot.
  • Steve O’Keefe took 2/27 on this ground last season. However, can O’Keefe improve on his overall record of four wickets in eight games vs Thunder?
  • Chris Morris went for a few runs at the death in his meeting with Sixers earlier this season. However, he wicket-taking ability (11 in eight games) cannot be understated.
  • Liam Bowe took 2/23 in his last game.

Head-to-Head:

  • Matches 16, Sixers 11, Thunder 5.
  • Sydney Sixers won a thriller earlier this season in a Super Over.

Possible Playing 11

Sydney Thunder have named an unchanged 13-man squad.

Sydney Thunder: 1. Usman Khawaja, 2. Alex Hales, 3. Callum Ferguson (c), 4. Alex Ross, 5. Jay Lenton (wk), 6. Daniel Sams, 7. Chris Morris, 8. Nathan McAndrew, 9. Brendan Doggett, 10. Jono Cook, 11. Liam Bowe

Nathan Lyon is in the Sydney Sixers squad.

Sydney Sixers: 1. Josh Philippe (wk), 2. Daniel Hughes, 3. James Vince, 4. Moises Henriques (c), 5. Jordan Silk, 6. Justin Avendano, 7. Tom Curran, 8. Ben Dwarshuis, 9. Steve O’Keefe/Lloyd Pope, 10. Nathan Lyon, 11. Jackson Bird

Sydney Showground Pitch Report and Conditions

The weather forecast doesn’t look too promising for this match. However, if there are breaks in the rain and there is play, the ball could skid onto the bat nicely as was the case in Brisbane Heat’s visit to this ground just under two weeks ago.

Provided the weather holds, this could be an exciting, close clash.

Sydney Thunder’s season is spiralling out of control a little. While they have talent in their ranks, Sixers could have the better resources for a shortened game if it turns out to be the case.

BBL09 Match 41: MS vs PS Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | MS vs PS Dream11 | Melbourne Stars vs Perth Scorchers Preview Dream11 Prediction | Melbourne Stars vs Perth Scorchers Key Players | MS vs PS Dream11 Prediction

After Adelaide Strikers turned the tables and thrashed Brisbane Heat, Perth Scorchers have the same task after being thrashed by Melbourne Stars a few nights ago.

However, the travel continues to be an issue for the Scorchers. They have spent the last seven days on six different flights, and now face the toughest test cricket-wise in BBL. The Stars, with seven straight wins, continue to dominate. Will it continue to be the case on Saturday afternoon?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Marcus Stoinis is in terrific form. He is far-and-away the top run-scorer of BBL09 with 517.
  • Stoinis at MCG in BBL09: 50 (44), 68* (55), 147* (79). He is coming off 39* vs Scorchers in Perth three nights ago.
  • What an inclusion Jackson Coleman was for the Stars last game. He took 3/16 and bowled with great control.
  • Josh Inglis continues to show promise. He was the only Scorchers’ batsman to show resistance last game with 37 off 19 balls. His last four scores: 51, 28, 73 and 37.
  • Cameron Bancroft scored 59 vs Stars at MCG last season. However, it was a very different Stars’ attack that day.
  • Will Liam Livingstone go boom or bust? He favours the leg-side, which is risky given the large square boundaries at the MCG.
  • Plenty rests on Mitchell Marsh. He has had a fine season so far, hitting 354 runs to sit third. He failed last game (7), but his previous scores were solid: 48, 21, 93*, 40.
  • And, of course, who can forget Glenn Maxwell? He has only faced two balls in the past two games, but he wasn’t dismissed in the previous three: 40* (32), 59* (37) and 83* (45).
  • Sandeep Lamichhane has taken eight wickets in his past five games, including five in his past three.
  • Fawad Ahmed can be effective at the MCG. He was economical (1/29) on his visit here a few years ago, and has taken at least one wicket in all but one game in BBL09.
  • Jhye Richardson has been outstanding in recent matches. His last four games: 3/22, 2/34, 4/19 and 0/15 (4).

Head-to-Head

Possible Playing 11

Haris Rauf has been picked for Pakistan for their upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. He departed for Pakistan on Friday.

Clint Hinchliffe took 3/20 in his last game at MCG, and could play in place of Rauf with Jackson Coleman also in the XI.

Melbourne Stars: 1. Hilton Cartwright, 2. Marcus Stoinis, 3. Ben Dunk, 4. Nick Larkin, 5. Glenn Maxwell (c), 6. Seb Gotch (wk), 7. Nathan Coulter-Nile, 8. Clint Hinchliffe, 9. Jackson Coleman, 10. Daniel Worrall, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

Kurtis Patterson is back from injury. He could make his Scorchers debut in this game, as he is named in the 13-man squad.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Josh Inglis (wk), 2. Liam Livingstone, 3. Cameron Green, 4. Mitchell Marsh (c), 5. Cameron Bancroft, 6. Kurtis Patterson, 7. Jaron Morgan, 8. Chris Jordan, 9. Jhye Richardson, 10. Joel Paris, 11. Fawad Ahmed

MCG Pitch Report and Conditions

Marcus Stoinis slammed 147* a week ago at the MCG. The pitch was a beauty for batting, but the Stars’ bowlers who executed their plans well were rewarded.

The forecast for Melbourne is partly cloudy, 29 degrees and no rain. However, there is a chance of smoke haze lingering during the day.

Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat, take two.

Three days after the Heat demolished Strikers on a fine Brisbane afternoon, the action moves to Adelaide for the rematch. It is an afternoon game once again as the India vs Australia ODI takes centre stage in the evening in Australia.

AB de Villiers enjoyed a strong start to life in the BBL, after James Pattinson ripped through the Strikers. Both sides sit in the top five in the BBL09 Table, which makes this an important game for both teams to consolidate their position. Who will win?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • James Pattinson is out with illness. It is a blow after he ripped through the Strikers with four wickets in the powerplay three days ago.
  • AB de Villiers looked at ease on BBL debut. The legend hit his stride right away with superb shots through the off-side in particular.
  • Chris Lynn’s struggles in run chases continued last game. He has not had a good time chasing in BBL09: 9, 6, 14, 9, 14 and 0.
  • When Lynn bats first: 94 (35), 88* (55) and 31 (13).
  • Matt Renshaw has 142 runs vs Strikers without being dismissed in BBL cricket. His scores: 90* (55) and 52* (45).
  • Travis Head came into the last meeting with a good record vs Heat (avg. 47.40). He was out for eight, and needs to deliver in this game.
  • Jake Weatherald’s last four scores in Adelaide: 83, 52, 47, 27.
  • If Jono Wells scores 61 or more, he will sit second in the BBL09 run-scoring chart. He has been one of the Strikers’ most consistent.
  • Josh Lalor vs Strikers: Eight wickets in four games, including 2/12 three days ago.
  • Mujeeb ur Rahman was superb with his control in his first appearance in BBL09 (0/14). In terms of wickets, he took at least one wicket in eight of his last 10 Bangladesh Premier League matches recently.
  • Can Rashid Khan get the better of the Heat big-hitters? He has seven wickets in four games vs Heat.

Head-to-Head

Possible Playing 11

Brisbane Heat have named the same squad of 13. However, James Pattinson is out with illness, replaced by the fit-again Ben Laughlin.

Brisbane Heat: 1. Max Bryant, 2. Chris Lynn (c), 3. Matt Renshaw, 4. AB de Villiers, 5. Joe Burns, 6. Ben Cutting, 7. Jimmy Peirson (wk), 8. Josh Lalor, 9. Mitch Swepson, 10. James Pattinson, 11. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman

Adelaide Strikers have also named the same 13-man squad. Peter Siddle is under an injury cloud after a nasty split webbing injury on his bowling hand.

Adelaide Strikers: 1. Jake Weatherald, 2. Phil Salt, 3. Travis Head (c), 4. Jono Wells, 5. Harry Nielsen (wk), 6. Matt Short, 7. Rashid Khan, 8. Michael Neser, 9. Peter Siddle, 10. Wes Agar, 11. Liam O’Connor

Adelaide Oval Pitch Report and Conditions

The Strikers struck 173/6 in their last home game. Jono Wells was man-of-the-match, striking the ball cleanly to flatten the Renegades.

Interestingly, the Adelaide track has been on the slower side in BBL09. As this is an afternoon game, a similar trend may continue.

The forecast for sunny and a temperature in the mid-20s.

What was that in Mumbai?

India, so proud of their home record, were absolutely humbled in front of a large, passionate crowd. The people of Mumbai witnessed plenty of big hitting, but only off the bats of David Warner and Aaron Finch, after Australia ran riot in a 10-wicket win.

But, in such an impressive performance from the openers, it can be easy to forget how good the Aussie bowlers were. Virat Kohli has vowed that India will take more risks in the second ODI; with the series now on the line, they have no choice but to.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • It is incredible to think where Aaron Finch was 12 months ago. At the mercy of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Finch was constantly caught in front of his stumps.
  • But, his adjustment in getting his front pad out of the way has been clear. Following on from a prolific 2019 (1,141 runs at 51.86), Finch was absolutely outstanding in his 110* in Mumbai.
  • David Warner and white-ball cricket in India: A better love story than Twilight. He averages 74.60 in six ODIs in India, along with 43.17 in 126 IPL innings.
  • Warner and Finch average over 85 as a pair vs India in ODIs.
  • Virat Kohli averages 63.39 in 180 ODIs at number three. Safe to say that he should return to that position. He and Rohit Sharma both have ODI half centuries in Rajkot.
  • Kohli’s last few scores at the No. 4 position in ODIs read: 16, 7, 12, 11, 3*, 4 and 9, dating back to January 2015.
  • Rohit’s three knocks vs Australia before the last game: 95, 56, 57. Again, how he deals with Mitchell Starc will be key.
  • Shikhar Dhawan’s last two ODIs vs Australia: 117 and 74.
  • Rishabh Pant is out with concussion. So Kedar Jadhav, who averages 45 vs Australia, could come in to the Indian team.
  • Steve Smith wasn’t needed in Mumbai. When he is needed, Australia can count on him. He averages over 50 in ODIs vs India.
  • Mitchell Starc (3) and Pat Cummins (2) combined for five wickets in Mumbai. They were particularly impressive.
  • Jasprit Bumrah (avg. 32.76 vs AUS) needs to lead the way in this game. His economy rate of 7.14 was the least expensive of the Indian seamers in Mumbai. Big improvement needed from every Indian bowler.

Head-to-Head Stat:

  • Australia have won their past four ODIs in India, dating back to March 2019.
  • “Winning two series in a row would be a big deal” – Adam Zampa. Zampa has dismissed Kohli six times in ODIs.

Key to an India win

While 255 was always under-par in Mumbai, India’s lack of effectiveness with the ball was a big worry. Jasprit Bumrah is easing his way back after a back injury, but Virat Kohli needs his main man, with support from his other seamers, to break the dangerous Australian opening partnership early.

It is then on the spinners to work well in the middle overs. Also, the batsmen need to be better in this period, after falling apart in Mumbai. India lost 9/121 after being well-placed to make a 300+ score. Indeed, it is well-and-good (and necessary) for the top three to make a score, but everyone needs to contribute.

IND vs AUS 2nd ODI Preview Dream11: A big game for skipper Kohli.

Key to an Australia win

It can be easy to forget how impressive Australia’s bowlers were in Mumbai. Even when India were one for 100-odd, the Aussies never lost their cool, with Aaron Finch maintaining well-set fields, justified by his bowlers. Then, led by Starc and Cummins, Australia got on a roll. Can they repeat the effort, this time getting past at least two of India’s top three?

Also, eyes will be on Aaron Finch and David Warner. Their partnership in Mumbai was something truly special, smashing a capable Indian attack to all parts. But, it is unfair to expect the exact same in Rajkot, so will the middle be ready to deliver right away when called on?

IND vs AUS 2nd ODI Preview Dream11: Finch and Warner, take two.

Possible Playing 11

India have rightly come in for criticism regarding how often they change their batting lineup. Given that Virat Kohli didn’t come in until nearly the 30th over in Mumbai, there is a good chance he’ll go back to three.

Rishabh Pant has been ruled out with concussion, which means KL Rahul will keep. Manish Pandey comes into the team six. Also, Shardul Thakur could make way for Navdeep Saini.

India: 1. Rohit Sharma, 2. Shikhar Dhawan, 3. Virat Kohli (c), 4. KL Rahul (wk), 5. Shreyas Iyer, 6. Manish Pandey, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Mohammed Shami, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Navdeep Saini, 11. Jasprit Bumrah

Australia have no reason to change their XI.

Australia: 1. Aaron Finch (c), 2. David Warner, 3. Steve Smith, 4. Marnus Labuschagne, 5. Ashton Turner, 6. Alex Carey (wk), 7. Ashton Agar, 8. Pat Cummins, 9. Mitchell Starc, 10. Adam Zampa, 11. Kane Richardson

Rajkot Pitch Report and Conditions

The Rajkot pitch looks a good one for batting. Some grass clippings have been removed from the track, ready in time for the Friday afternoon start.

The forecast is pleasant in Rajkot: mid 20s and sunny.

My head said India in the first ODI. Heart said Australia.

Given how well Australia have played in India in their past four ODIs, it is tough to go past the Aussies getting another win. They look more settled than India, who continue to make changes.

After a lengthy wait due to the New Year’s Test, Sydney Sixers are back home at the SCG in the run home to the playoffs.

The Sixers are coming off a Marcus Stoinis-led thumping. But, they have showed their ability to put wins together this tournament, and they will back themselves against a struggling Hobart Hurricanes side.

The Hurricanes, bowled out for 98 a few nights ago, look shot of confidence; they have really struggled without D’Arcy Short, James Faulkner and Riley Meredith. Sitting three points outside the top five, this is a must-win for the men in purple.

However, there is plenty of rain around in Sydney (and greater NSW), which is of relief to fire and drought-affected communities. But, can the Hurricanes be relieved and get a positive result?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Depleted attack? Josh Philippe needs to pounce. He has scored just six and eight in his past two games, so this is a chance to deliver.
  • Philippe scored 86* off 49 in the corresponding match last season.
  • George Bailey has scored 43 and 36 in his past two games. With the Hurricanes missing key experience, Bailey has proven to be a key man in the middle order. Bailey vs Sixers: 222 runs, average: 44.40.
  • Matthew Wade vs Sixers at SCG last season: 64 off 51 balls.
  • Moises Henriques averages just 18 in nine innings vs Hurricanes. Can he step up tonight?
  • David Miller has been in poor form; he averages just 13 in BBL09. But, could a rain-affected game have him play with freedom?
  • Caleb Jewell: frustration. He has made six scores over 20 in BBL09, with his highest score being 31. Can he finally convert a start?
  • James Vince has 92 runs in two knocks vs Hurricanes. He scored 74* off 50 balls in the corresponding match a year ago.
  • Tom Curran has been hot-and-cold recently (1/58, 0/40, 4/22 and 1/58). But, his all-round ability makes him a threat vs Hurricanes (123 runs and 14 wickets in BBL09).
  • Qais Ahmad was extraordinary the last time these teams met, taking 4/12. Conditions will be different in Sydney than Alice Springs, though, and he needs a step-up based on recent form.
  • Scott Boland so far in BBL09: 2/29, 3/16, 1/33 and 1/45.
  • Lloyd Pope has had a good tournament. His last game vs Stars (0/25) was the only time he went wicketless in a run of six games. Previous five games: 1/15, 3/23, 2/22, 2/41, 2/33.

The Sixers bowlers, particularly Ben Dwarshuis, had a bad time last game vs Stars. They conceded over 200 runs and took just a single wicket, in the final over. An improvement is needed.

Sydney Sixers: 1. Josh Philippe (wk), 2. Daniel Hughes, 3. James Vince, 4. Moises Henriques (c), 5. Jordan Silk, 6. Justin Avendano, 7. Tom Curran, 8. Ben Dwarshuis, 9. Steve O’Keefe, 10. Jackson Bird, 11. Lloyd Pope

Simon Milenko has been dropped by the Hobart Hurricanes. Mac Wright comes in, and could slot into the top six.

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. Matthew Wade (c), 2. Caleb Jewell, 3. Ben McDermott (wk), 4. David Miller, 5. George Bailey, 6. Mac Wright, 7. Clive Rose, 8. Tom Rogers, 9. Nathan Ellis, 10. Qais Ahmad, 11. Scott Boland

SCG Pitch Report and Conditions

The SCG has had something for everyone this summer. Runs have been scored in the Test and BBL09, with batsmen rewarded for time in the middle. However, bowlers, particularly spinners and pacers who bowl cutters well, have had a good time of it too.

The weather forecast is for rain in Sydney today and over the coming days. While this is not good news for cricket, it is good for the bushfire and drought-affected communities.

Amid the plethora of white-ball cricket around the world right now, the game’s toughest and most traditional format takes centre stage again.

And what a series it is shaping up to be.

Thanks to Ben Stokes’ heroics (AGAIN), England drew level in thrilling circumstances in Cape Town. It was a fine effort by Stokes and England, who have been struck down with injuries and illness throughout their tour to date.

So, South Africa, who were big favourites to take out the series after their win in the first Test, have work to do. Their first-innings display in Cape Town left plenty to be desired, owing again to their up-and-down batting. Can they re-take the series lead in the crucial third Test?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • What more can be said about Ben Stokes? Cricketer of the year and now firmly in the England’s best ever all-rounder discussion, Stokes continues to achieve incredible feats when his team needs it most.
  • He is coming off a performance that read: 47, 0/34, 73, 3/35.
  • Dominic Sibley is coming off his most significant performance in Test cricket. He currently leads the run-scoring chart this series with 200.
  • Faf du Plessis has had a poor series to date (29, 20, 1, 19). But, he returns to one of his favourite grounds, where he has scored 509 runs in six Tests at 72.71.
  • Dean Elgar, coming off a fighting 88 in the last Test, also has a fine record at St George’s Park: 7 Tests, 521 runs, avg. 52.10.
  • Joe Root’s series has been ridden with starts: 29, 48, 35, 61. He averages 50.81 in South Africa, and the time is now to make a series-defining century.
  • Joe Denly has faced 431 balls in two Tests: an unsung hero for England so far.
  • It was a poor Test for South Africa last year in Port Elizabeth, but Quinton de Kock shone with 86. He may still be up at night thinking about his second innings dismissal in Cape Town, but he remains crucial for SA.
  • Vernon Philander could certainly be fired up after Jos Buttler had a go at him on the final day of the second Test. Philander averages 23.12 with the ball in five Tests at St George’s Park.
  • Kagiso Rabada is the series’ leading wicket-taker with 12, and averages 17 runs per wicket (23) at St George’s Park.
  • Anrich Nortje (10), Stuart Broad (8) and Sam Curran (8) are all challenging Rabada for series’ top wicket-taker.
  • James Anderson is out of the series with a rib injury. Keep an eye on Mark Wood, who is said to be bowling well and quickly in training. He is a chance of playing, according to reports.

Key to a South Africa win

Faf du Plessis returns to his beloved St George’s Park; the South Africa skipper is under pressure to make a significant score after an underwhelming series. Indeed, with the Proteas having the tendency to lose regular wickets, it is on the solid openers, Zubayr Hamza and du Plessis to lead the way.

Also, can the Proteas’ seamers inflict more damage? They huffed and puffed in Cape Town, only to be denied by the grit shown by England’s top order, followed by the brute force of Ben Stokes. Keshav Maharaj could have a key role to play on a traditionally-slower pitch, but if there is grass, the seam-trio need to be on the money consistently.

SA vs ENG 3rd Test Preview Dream11: Faf under pressure?

Key to an England win

England should look at Cape Town as a significant step in the right direction. However, a poor batting display here could mean two steps backwards. Dominic Sibley announced himself on the Test stage, and with the likes of Joe Denly, Joe Root and Ben Stokes fighting away, England can hope for another big batting effort.

Also, is it time to unleash Mark Wood? He is reportedly bowling rapidly in training, which could sway England as they are looking for pace with the Kookaburra ball. Stuart Broad has been good for the most part, and if he can lead the way, the rest will follow against a batting lineup prone to collapse.

SA vs ENG 3rd Test Preview Dream11: Two of England’s top performers last game.

Possible Playing 11

South Africa lost the previous Test, but there is no need to panic. However, Zubayr Hamza has not had a good series so far, so he needs to have a good game to boost his confidence.

South Africa: 1. Dean Elgar, 2. Pietar Malan, 3. Zubayr Hamza, 4. Faf du Plessis (c), 5. Rassie van der Dussen, 6. Quinton de Kock (wk), 7. Dwaine Pretorius, 8. Vernon Philander, 9. Keshav Maharaj, 10. Kagiso Rabada, 11. Anrich Nortje

Joe Root was affected by illness a few days ago, but is considered all-good to play. Unfortunately, Jack Leach has had to go home to treat ongoing illness, so Dominic Bess will remain the spinner.

However, England have a bit of a conundrum in the pace department. James Anderson is out, and have the choice of Jofra Archer, Mark Wood or Chris Woakes. Wood is reportedly a good chance of playing.

England: 1. Zak Crawley, 2. Dominic Sibley, 3. Joe Denly, 4. Joe Root (c), 5. Ben Stokes, 6. Ollie Pope, 7. Jos Buttler (wk), 8. Sam Curran, 9. Jofra Archer/Mark Wood, 10. Dominic Bess, 11. Stuart Broad

St George’s Park Port Elizabeth Pitch Report and Conditions

The pitch had plenty of grass on it three days out from the Test; most will be shaved off. Port Elizabeth is typically one of the slower tracks in South Africa, but bowlers had the better of proceedings just under a year ago when Sri Lanka won.

The weather forecast looks mostly fine apart from a chance of a few showers on days three and five.

It’s two flawed sides, but that takes nothing away from how intriguing this Test promises to be.

Both sides who have batted first have gone on to win the game. Given the even nature of the two teams, it could be the case again.

BBL09 Match 38: PS vs MS Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

READ: New MS vs PS Preview Dream11, Saturday 18th January 2020

Wednesday evening in Perth is one to look forward to. Two in-form teams go head-to-head in an important game for the home team, as they look to nail down a top five spot.

However, it is as if playing the red-hot Stars isn’t difficult enough for Perth Scorchers. Their schedule has been unforgiving in terms of travel. Since their last loss four games and 10 days ago at home, they have traveled from Perth to Geelong, from Geelong back to Perth, then from Perth to Hobart. Now, two days after their last game, they are back in Perth.

As challenging as that is, they will have to find a way to be on their game vs Melbourne Stars. Led by the red-hot Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, the Stars have enjoyed six straight victories, and are now the red-hot favourites to take out the BBL09 Title.

However, this game could be a test for the Stars and it will be interesting to see how they respond.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Marcus Stoinis is coming off the highest score in BBL history (147).
  • Stoinis is 131 runs ahead of the next highest run-scorer in BBL09 (Mitch Marsh).
  • Marsh has been strong in this tournament (347 runs). His scores in Perth this season are impressive: 56* (22), 17 (13), 48 (36), 93* (43).
  • Glenn Maxwell has not been dismissed in any of his past four innings: 40* (32), 59* (37), 83* (45), 5* (2).
  • Stoinis (49 off 40) and Maxwell (61 off 40) performed well on this ground last season.
  • Josh Inglis has been fantastic for the Scorchers this season. He is ninth in the BBL09 run-scoring list with 275, and is coming off a man-of-the-match performance in Hobart (73 off 46 balls).
  • Inglis’ last three scores: 51, 28, 73.
  • Hilton Cartwright will be looking to make the opening position his own. He has scored 35 and 59 in his past two matches.
  • Cameron Bancroft vs Stars last season: 44* (27) and 59 (42). However, it remains to be seen where he bats in the Scorchers’ order today.
  • Which Liam Livingstone will show up today? He has failed more often than not in BBL09, but has scores of 59 and 35 in his last three knocks. Also, he is capable of taking wickets with the ball.
  • Haris Rauf has taken one wicket in each of his past two games. But, he still has an incredible 15 wickets in six matches in BBL09.
  • Jhye Richardson has burst into form in recent weeks. He has taken 12 wickets in his past seven games, including nine in the last three. The Stars’ batting will be a greater challenge, but his form is strong.
  • Daniel Worrall has nine wickets in five games vs Scorchers. One to watch?
  • Fawad Ahmed has taken at least one wicket in all but two games in BBL09. Also, he has taken at least one wicket in every match in Perth so far this season. His opponent, Sandeep Lamichhane, has six wickets in his past four games.
  • Nathan Coulter-Nile returns for this match, at a ground he is familiar with.

BBL09 Match 38: PS vs MS Preview Dream11: Stoinis has been unstoppable.

Perth Scorchers have made one change to their 13-man squad. Local replacement player Jaron Morgan comes in, but the Scorchers could stick with the same winning XI from the last game.

Melbourne Stars have also made one change to their 13-man squad. Nathan Coulter-Nile is back after being rested in the last match, and should replace Lance Morris in the XI.

Melbourne Stars: 1. Marcus Stoinis, 2. Hilton Cartwright, 3. Ben Dunk, 4. Nick Larkin, 5. Glenn Maxwell (c), 6. Seb Gotch (wk), 7. Nathan Coulter-Nile, 8. Clint Hinchliffe, 9. Haris Rauf, 10. Daniel Worrall, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

Optus Stadium Pitch Report and Conditions

Perth has played host to high-scoring games in BBL09: 196 vs 185, 174 vs 126, 180 vs 172 and 213 v 179. The pitch allows batsmen to hit freely through the line thanks to nice, even pace.

The weather forecast for Wednesday in Perth is hot (35 degrees) and no rain.

On paper, this promises to be an exciting game.

However, it remains to be seen how the Scorchers recover from such significant travel over the past week. The Stars look in terrific form, and will be very hard to beat in this one. Stars to win.

One of these teams have punched above their weight. The other has had nothing short of an abysmal season.

Sydney Thunder, with a win, can move from sixth to third in the BBL09 table. They have competed in just about every game so far this season, testament to the leadership of Callum Ferguson and his team’s efforts.

The same can’t be said of Melbourne Renegades. The defending champions are in serious danger of finishing the season with 14 defeats out of 14 games, such has been their poor form this season. Their last few games in particular have been poor, with their 63-run loss to the Strikers the latest of their many humiliations.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales both hit 60+ vs Renegades earlier in BBL09.
  • Hales in particular has had a rise in form in recent times. Last three scores: 20*, 26, 55. Khawaja has scored 210 runs vs Renegades at an avg. of 52.50.
  • Callum Ferguson: Due a good score? He has two single-figure scores in his past three knocks, but remains in the top 10 for BBL09 run-scorers with an impressive average of 42.14.
  • Beau Webster has been a shining light in a horrible season for the Renegades. He has 310 runs at avg. 62, with his last four scores: 29, 59*, 25, 49.
  • Shaun Marsh has also been solid, sitting third among BBL09 run-scorers (319 runs at 35.44). He and Webster have easily been the Renegades’ best batsmen.
  • Sam Harper, if used correctly, can be a good weapon in the top three for the Renegades. He scored 39 off 19 balls vs Thunder earlier in BBL09.
  • Marcus Harris vs Thunder: 83 runs in two matches, including one fifty.
  • Daniel Sams continues to be in the wickets. He has 17 wickets in nine games: There has not been a single game where Sams hasn’t taken a wicket. Also, he has six wickets in three games vs Renegades.
  • Chris Morris got back in the wickets last game, taking two. He has 10 in six games in BBL09.
  • Samit Patel, Mohammad Nabi and Cameron Boyce could find joy on a typically slower Canberra pitch. The spin trio took a wicket each at a total economy rate of 6.75.

Head-to-Head

  • Matches: 10, Thunder 2, Renegades 8.
  • Renegades dominate the head-to-head battle vs Thunder. But, Thunder beat them earlier this season.

Possible Playing 11

Three changes have been made to the Sydney Thunder squad. Matthew Gilkes is out, and will be replaced by Jay Lenton. Also, Nathan McAndrew and Gurinder Sandhu come into the 13-man squad.

Sydney Thunder: 1. Usman Khawaja, 2. Alex Hales, 3. Callum Ferguson (c), 4. Jay Lenton (wk), 5. Alex Ross, 6. Daniel Sams, 7. Chris Morris, 8. Nathan McAndrew, 9. Brendan Doggett, 10. Jono Cook, 11. Liam Bowe

Melbourne Renegades have made one change to their 13-man squad. Andrew Fekete comes in for Nathan McSweeney. Fekete could replace the struggling Joe Mennie.

Melbourne Renegades: 1. Shaun Marsh, 2. Marcus Harris, 3. Sam Harper (wk), 4. Beau Webster, 5. Tom Cooper, 6. Daniel Christian (c), 7. Mohammad Nabi, 8. Samit Patel, 9. Jack Wildermuth, 10. Cameron Boyce, 11. Joe Mennie/Andrew Fekete

Manuka Oval Canberra Pitch Report and Conditions

The Canberra track is typically on the slower side. Spinners and pacers who bowl good cutters usually find some success on this ground.

However, like an earlier game in Canberra this season, there is the threat of smoke haze from bushfires. It remains to be seen if it will have an impact on the game.

IND vs AUS 1st ODI Preview Dream11 Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | IND vs AUS 1st ODI Dream11 | India vs Australia 1st ODI Preview Dream11 Prediction | India vs Australia 1st ODI Key Players | IND vs AUS 1st ODI Dream11 Prediction

Traditional rivals will go head-to-head once again in an ODI series. This is the sixth bilateral series between the sides since 2015/16, with passion and sheer rivalry between the two countries somewhat overcoming the risk of overkill.

India will be out for some revenge. Just under a year ago, they squandered a 2-0 advantage that allowed Australia to gain some confidence and momentum heading into the World Cup.

In the end, neither side progressed through to the World Cup Final. So, even with the next World Cup three-and-a-half years away, it is a chance for players to make their mark and become regulars in their respective teams.

Who will start the three-match series with a win?

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

  • Australia’s 2019 tour of India saw Aaron Finch hit some form with a 93 in the third ODI.
  • However, he will be out to improve his average of 31 from that series at a ground where he has had some joy in IPL. Finch averages 40 in four innings at the Wankhede, including a fifty.
  • Rohit Sharma (2,037 runs avg. 61.72) and Virat Kohli (1,727 avg. 53.76) love playing Australia. Rohit’s battle with Mitchell Starc will be particularly intriguing.
  • Kohli also loves the Wankhede Stadium. He has 249 runs in four matches at an average of 83.00, including a century. Also, Kohli averages 73.40 in nine IPL matches on this ground.
  • It is likely that Kohli will bat at four, with Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul to both play. Dhawan played a blinder against Australia in last year’s World Cup, scoring 117.
  • David Warner and Steve Smith (arguably Australia’s best player of spin) are crucial players for Australia. Both enjoy strong records vs India ODIs: Warner: 692 runs at 46.13, Smith: 678 runs at 52.15.
  • Moreover, Warner is IPL royalty. Winner of the Orange Cap three times, Warner loves playing white-ball cricket in India.
  • Peter Handscomb is also a good player of spin. He had a strong tour of India last year, scoring 236 runs at 47.20. Also, can Ashton Turner repeat some of the magic he showed last year?
  • Pat Cummins will be keen for a big year in white-ball cricket. He took 14 wickets in five games in India last year. Also, Josh Hazlewood was ranked the no.1 ODI bowler during 2017.
  • Kedar Jadhav averages 46 vs Australia in 12 ODIs.
  • Ravindra Jadeja averages 58 with the ball in 30 ODIs vs Australia. India need him to perform.
  • Kuldeep Yadav (19) and Yuzvendra Chahal (15) are wicket-takers against Australia. So, regardless of who India pick, they can be sure their wrist-spinner can provide some threat.
  • Adam Zampa took 11 wickets in five ODIs in India last year.
  • Mitchell Starc will play his first ODI in India since 2010. He has only played one ODI in the country, but with 27 wickets in last year’s World Cup, Starc has further enhanced his reputation as one of the finest ODI bowlers going around.
  • Jasprit Bumrah vs Australia: 17 wickets in 11 games at 29. Also, Bumrah will be playing at a ground he is very familiar with in IPL with Mumbai Indians.

Possible Playing 11

India could leave out Rishabh Pant and play KL Rahul as a wicket-keeper. Also, Shardul Thakur could take the no. 8 slot to give India extra batting depth, with the impressive Navdeep Saini to battle it out with Mohammed Shami for a spot.

India: 1. Shikhar Dhawan, 2. Rohit Sharma, 3. KL Rahul (wk), 4. Virat Kohli (c), 5. Shreyas Iyer, 6. Kedar Jadhav, 7. Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Shardul Thakur, 9. Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Mohammed Shami/Navdeep Saini, 11. Jasprit Bumrah

David Warner and Steve Smith, who didn’t play in last year’s ODI series, will play here. Marnus Labuschagne could make his debut at four. He is in remarkable form, and will look to transfer this to the ODI format. Also, Ashton Agar, touted as important to Australia’s ODI plans, will likely bat at seven.

Australia: 1. David Warner, 2. Aaron Finch (c), 3. Steven Smith, 4. Marnus Labuschagne, 5. Peter Handscomb, 6. Alex Carey (wk), 7. Ashton Agar, 8. Pat Cummins, 9. Mitchell Starc, 10. Josh Hazlewood, 11. Adam Zampa

Wankhede Pitch Report and Conditions

Last month, Wankhede Stadium played host to a T20I where India scored 240. You can almost always count on this pitch to be a beauty for batting.

Also, dew could set in later in the evening, so bowling first is tempting. No rain is forecast.

This match promises to be a beauty first up, with plenty of runs.

India, at home, deserve to be favourites, with the likes of Virat Kohli to lead them to a 1-0 lead. However, Australia certainly have the personnel to cause an issue or two.

5 Players Who Can Win the Purple Cap in IPL 2020 | Who will win the Purple Cap in IPL 2020? | IPL 2020 best bowlers

T20 is considered as the batsmen’s game with likes of Rohit, Virat, Maxwell, Warner and de Villiers piling heaps of runs in the IPL. So, it’s very difficult for the bowlers to withstand in the battle of the bat and the ball.

Still, there are some bowlers in the game who take wickets for fun and can intimidate any batting line up.

Here, we are going to look at five such bowlers who can win the “Purple Cap” in the upcoming IPL season.

Also read: T20, IPL and cricket gaming content you may enjoy:

5. Dale Steyn

“Dale Steyn”. A name that can cause shivers down the spine of batsmen. Steyn is back in RCB for the year 2020 and will want to continue from where he left off last season.

Steyn was the third highest wicket-taker in MSL 2019 with 15 wickets in eight games after his return from injury. He then continued the good form for Melbourne Stars in the BBL, taking five wickets in four games.

Steyn is a world-class bowler. If (big if) he is able to play the whole season without getting injured, then we’ll surely see some stumps getting uprooted!

Can Dale Steyn get through the season unscathed?

4. Pat Cummins

The big winner of the IPL 2020 Auction, Pat Cummins, is among the top names who can win the Purple Cap in IPL 2020.

He is back in the IPL with KKR, who bought him for a whopping AU$3.1million! So, expectation will be huge on Cummins.

His form has been wonderful in the longest format of the game; currently no.1 in the ICC Test rankings. Also, he, along with Mitchell Starc, was Australia’s key man with the ball in the 2019 ODI World Cup. So, it will be interesting to see if he’s able to repeat the same in the IPL.

Can Pat Cummins justify his price-tag?

3. Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada played a vital role in turning the fortunes of Delhi Capitals in last year’s IPL, after they revamped the whole franchise.

He was the second highest wicket-taker with 25 wickets from just 12 games.

He has pace and fire in his eyes, and has helped take DC to the next level.

Rabada is the go-to man for Iyer when he needs a wicket. Only time will tell if he’s able to win the Purple Cap with his side lifting the IPL trophy for the first time in IPL 2020.

2. Rashid Khan

The spin wizard from Afghanistan, Rashid Khan, is a top contender for the Purple Cap. Rashid was the second highest wicket-taker in IPL 2018, and has continued to perform well in T20 Leagues around the globe.

One of those leagues is the BBL. His current form is remarkable, boasting 14 wickets in eight BBL09 games, including a hat-trick.

The Sunrisers would want their star spinner to repeat his performance of the 2018 season and drive them towards a playoffs appearance in IPL 2020.

Rashid Khan will be one to watch once again in IPL.

1. Imran Tahir

Imran Tahir was the Purple Cap winner last season, and with the form he’s in currently, there is a good chance of him winning it again.

He was the leading wicket-taker (17) of the last year’s MSL and also the second highest wicket-taker of CPL 2019.

We have become accustomed to Tahir going on his celebratory run. He is a genuine wicket-taker for CSK, and on what promises to be a turning track at Chepauk, he will be difficult to play again. Can he help CSK go one further in IPL 2020?
