SIX vs STR Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2021/22 Match 16 | SIX vs STR Dream11 Prediction Today | Sydney Sixers vs Adelaide Strikers Key Players | SCG Pitch Report

For the first time in BBL 11, if the match doesn’t end in a certain way, it will be considered quite the upset. Adelaide Strikers, who are without linchpins Alex Carey and Travis Head due to successful Test duty, have found the going tough so far this season. So, if they beat the high-flying Sydney Sixers in Sydney, it would be some result.

The Strikers have found it difficult to score big, with scores of just 151, 149 and 146 so far. The onus is on the bowlers to keep the in-form Sixers’ batsmen in check, particularly Josh Philippe and Moises Henriques who have both led from the front this season.

However, the Sixers have been dealt a blow with Tom Curran to miss the remainder of BBL 11 due to a back injury. Also, key spinner Steve O’Keefe is out with a calf injury, with fellow finger spinner Ben Manenti out with a stress fracture in his neck. So, these absentees give the Strikers reason to believe, but the Sixers’ depth – which has been key to their success – will be a challenge to overcome.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Sydney Sixers:

  • What a season Josh Philippe is having. He is currently the top run-scorer in BBL 11 with 259 runs in four matches at an average of 86.33 and strike rate of 156.96 with three half-centuries. This includes a superb 99* in his last match.
  • Philippe has struck 83 and 72 so far at the SCG this season. He also has a good record against the Strikers, with 172 runs in six innings at an average of 43.00 and strike rate of 147.01.
  • Moises Henriques is also having a fine season (204 runs, avg. 102.00, SR 155.72). The skipper has the most runs of any Sixers player against the Strikers, with 219 in eight matches at an average of 36.50 and strike rate of 134.36.
  • Jordan Silk continues to be a reliable middle order player for the Sixers. He struck 25* off 19 balls in his last match vs Stars, and has scored the third-most runs in T20s at the SCG: 23 inns, 610 runs, avg. 38.13, SR 130.34.
  • Dan Christian smashed 50 off 16 balls last season vs Strikers. Also, he took two wickets across the two meetings in BBL 2020/21. Can he fire here?
  • Ben Dwarshuis has the most wickets in Sixers-Strikers matches. The left-armer has 14 scalps in nine matches at an average of 17.29 and economy rate of 6.91.
  • Sean Abbott is set to return after the birth of his daughter last week. The seamer enjoys bowling against the Strikers, with 12 wickets in seven matches at an average of 17.08 and economy rate of 8.72.
  • Also, Abbott has the most T20 wickets of any bowler at the SCG, with 51 scalps in 35 matches at an average of 19.73 and economy rate of 8.53.

Adelaide Strikers:

  • Matt Short has been a shining light for the Strikers this season. He has struck 124 runs in three matches at an average of 41.33 and strike rate of 151.21.
  • Can he improve on a terrible record against the Sixers? Short has scored 27 runs in five matches against them at an average of just 5.40. However, Short looks an improved player this year.
  • Jake Weatherald is key to the Strikers’ hopes. He has scored 198 runs in eight innings vs Sixers at an average of 28.29 and strike rate of 129.41.
  • Matt Renshaw is set to return, and will be key. He has scored 84 runs in four innings vs Sixers, so he will be looking to build on that today.
  • Jono Wells has an outstanding record for Strikers against Sixers. In seven matches, he has struck 247 runs at an average of 82.33 and strike rate of 121.67.
  • Rashid Khan has an excellent record vs Sixers, with 13 scalps in seven matches at an average of 14.92 and economy rate of 6.93. He took 3/18 in his last match against them back in January, dismissing Philippe, Jack Edwards and Daniel Hughes.
  • Daniel Worrall (four wickets this season, econ. 6.17) and George Garton (three wickets, econ. 6.00) have both bowled well so far in BBL 11.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 14, Sixers 9, Strikers 5.
  • Sydney Sixers have won the past five meetings between the teams.
  • Peter Siddle has taken just two wickets in seven innings against the Sixers (avg. 93.00).
  • James Vince has scored 113 runs in five matches vs Strikers at an average of 28.25.

Possible Playing 11

SCG Pitch Report and Weather

It has been a belter of a pitch at Sydney so far in BBL 11. There have been two 200+ scores in as many matches, with the likes of Philippe, Henriques and Matthew Wade scoring big. It should be another good surface here, but don’t be surprised if it’s a touch on the drier side after a number of hot days in Sydney.

Rain will not play a factor in this one. A warm and clear evening is forecast.

Twitter reactions as Australia take 2-0 lead after England fight

Cricket News: Twitter reactions as Australia take 2-0 lead after England fight | Australia take 2-0 lead after winning day/night Test

As expected after dominating the first four days, Australia took a 2-0 series lead to keep one hand firmly on the urn. However, it was quite the fight, with England, courtesy mainly of Jos Buttler, unexpectedly took the match into the final session.

Buttler, who had been enduring a torrid Test with dropped catches and a first innings duck, batted over 200 deliveries to keep England’s hopes of a remarkable draw alive. However, as has been the case right throughout this series, just as England thought they had some hope of a revival, the door slammed shut swiftly; this time in the form of Buttler’s boot treading on the off-stump.

He had support from Chris Woakes (44 off 97 balls) and Ollie Robinson (8 off 39 balls), but there was simply too much time left in the game. Australia kept wheeling away, with Jhye Richardson finishing with his first Test five-wicket haul after player of the match Marnus Labuschange scored his first Ashes hundred earlier in the match.

All in all, it was the perfect return to the captaincy for Steve Smith. Runs, good slip catching, sound tactics and a victory rounded off a fine outing for the stand-in skipper, who had to fill in at the 11th hour as Australia were left without Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. Despite that, the Australian attack never let up, with Richardson and Michael Neser filling in nicely alongside fellow pacer Mitchell Starc who bowled as well as he has for a long time.

“Mitchell Starc was exceptional and led the attack really well,” said Smith in the post-match presentation.

He summed it up quickly, not a great deal of swing so bashed a good length, across the right-handers, in great rhythm and proud of how he went about his business.

England’s drought in Australia is now 12 Tests spanning nearly 11 years. And, with the way this series is going, it is unlikely that will be broken anytime soon.

SCO vs HUR Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report: BBL 2021/22 Match 15 | SCO vs HUR Dream11 Prediction Today | Scorchers vs Hurricanes Key Players | Hobart Pitch Report

For the second time in a week, Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes will meet in Hobart. This match was originally scheduled to be played in Perth, but changes to Western Australia’s border rules means that the Scorchers will spend the entire campaign on the road.

As difficult as that sounds, they have a wonderful platform to build off. They are the tournament’s only unbeaten team so far this season, playing some wonderful cricket in the process. Mitchell Marsh made the perfect start to his campaign, smashing an unbeaten century on this ground against the Hurricanes last week, continuing what has been a remarkable year in T20 cricket for the ‘Bison’.

In the process, the Scorchers thumped the Hurricanes in what looked to be a competitive match on paper. The Hurricanes – as they showed in their previous match against the Sixers – have what it takes to produce great all-round performances. The talent is there to make a title charge, and they will be aiming to build some consistency and move up the table.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Perth Scorchers:

  • Mitch Marsh is having a year to remember. He scored a 60-ball 100* vs Hurricanes last week on this ground, smashing 11 boundaries (including five sixes).
  • Marsh now has 303 runs in eight matches vs Hurricanes at an average of 43.29 and strike rate of 139.63.
  • Colin Munro smashed a century two matches ago against the Strikers. He missed out last week vs Hurricanes (0 off 2 balls), but will be looking to bounce back here.
  • Josh Inglis was dismissed in unlucky fashion last week, smashing a slog sweep straight to deep backward square leg. He has scored a total of 143 runs vs Hurricanes in five innings at an average of 35.75 and strike rate of 153.76.
  • Englishman Laurie Evans will have a key role to play as a finisher once again. He smashed 40 off 24 balls against the Hurricanes last week.
  • Tymal Mills is a magnificent addition to this Scorchers lineup. The left-armer is having a brilliant year in short-form cricket (35 wickets in 24 matches, econ. 6.68), including 3/23 vs the Hurricanes last week.
  • Ashton Agar has taken 10 wickets in seven matches vs Hurricanes at an average of 16.50 and economy rate of 6.11. This includes a miserly spell of 2/21 last week.

Hobart Hurricanes:

  • Will Matthew Wade deliver today? He smashed 93 off 46 balls two games ago against Sydney Sixers, and the Hurricanes will be hoping he can produce something similar today after missing out last time out vs Scorchers (4 off 5 balls).
  • Wade averages just 21 in seven outings vs Scorchers. He will also be seeking to improve on his average of 25 in 18 T20 innings at Hobart.
  • D’Arcy Short has struggled to get going this season in terms of his strike rate (SR 107.75). He scored 31 off 29 balls vs Scorchers last week, part of 325 runs in eight innings against them at an average of 46.43 and strike rate of 122.18.
  • Short has the second-most runs in T20s at Bellerive Oval: 25 inns, 891 runs, avg. 37.13, SR 141.20.
  • Ben McDermott looked in fantastic form in his first match of the season last week vs Scorchers. He smashed 41 off 29 balls with three fours and three sixes.
  • Nathan Ellis has the most wickets of any Hurricanes bowler against the Scorchers. He has taken nine wickets in five matches at an average of 18.33, including 2/33 last week. He also has 16 scalps in 11 matches on this ground.
  • The Hurricanes are set to welcome Riley Meredith. He has seven wickets in six matches vs Scorchers at an impressive economy rate of 7.03.
  • Hurricanes would be well served playing Tom Rogers. He has seven scalps in just four matches vs Scorchers at an average of 17.29 and economy rate of 7.56.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 16, Hurricanes 6, Scorchers 10.
  • Scorchers (182/5) were too good for Hurricanes (129) six days ago on this ground.
  • Harry Brook has been brilliant in short-form cricket in 2021: 19 matches, 676 runs, avg. 56.33, SR 149.23.

Possible Playing 11

Perth Scorchers have named their squad for this clash. They could stick with the same team that beat the Hurricanes last week.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Kurtis Patterson/Cameron Bancroft, 2. Colin Munro, 3. Mitch Marsh, 4. Josh Inglis (wk), 5. Ashton Turner (c), 6. Laurie Evans, 7. Ashton Agar, 8. Andrew Tye, 9. Peter Hatzoglou, 10. Jason Behrendhorff, 11. Tymal Mills

Joel Paris is out for the Hobart Hurricanes with a groin injury. Scott Boland is unavailable due to his call up to the Australia squad in Adelaide. But, in a boost, Riley Meredith and Mitch Owen are named in the match squad.

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. Matthew Wade (c & wk), 2. D’Arcy Short, 3. Caleb Jewell, 4. Ben McDermott, 5. Tim David, 6. Harry Brook, 7. Jordan Thompson, 8. Nathan Ellis, 9. Riley Meredith, 10. Sandeep Lamichhane, 11. Tom Rogers

Bellerive Oval Hobart Pitch Report and Weather

It was a good batting surface last week as the Scorchers racked up over 180 runs. Expect another good batting surface here.

The forecast is for a windy, cool evening, so dew likely won’t be a factor. In eight BBL matches last season, the average first innings score was 171, with the team batting first winning six of those games.

BBL 2021-22 Match 14: HEA vs THU Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | HEA vs THU Dream11 Prediction | Heat vs Thunder Key Players | Gabba Pitch Report

After a few days off owing to the Adelaide Day/Night Test, the BBL returns with an important game for two sides looking to build some momentum.

Sydney Thunder, after beating Brisbane Heat earlier this season, have since lost two matches against the Melbourne Stars. The Heat, who themselves lost their first two matches, swept aside the Melbourne Renegades with ease to get their season going. Both teams currently sit outside the top five, and even though it is still early in the season, there is an element of importance in this clash.

The Gabba will host its first BBL match this season after Australia’s victory over England in the first Ashes Test. The Heat have won four out of five completed matches against the Thunder on this ground, and will be seeking some revenge after losing to the Sydney-based team by seven wickets two weeks ago.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Brisbane Heat:

  • Chris Lynn missed out against the Thunder earlier this season (9), but he has the potential to deliver in this match. He has scored the most runs in Thunder-Heat matches, with 585 runs in 15 matches at an average of 48.75 and strike rate of 171.55.
  • Lynn also has the most T20 runs at the Gabba. He has scored 1,129 runs in 37 matches at an average of 35.28 and strike rate of 166.27.
  • Ben Duckett batted nicely against the Thunder two weeks ago. He struck 46 off 35 balls. He has scored 1 and 11 since, so the Heat will be hoping he can deliver the goods today.
  • Sam Heazlett has struck scores of 42 (37), 34 (17) and 44* (29) so far this season. He has a good record against the Thunder, with 149 runs in five innings at an average of 49.67 and strike rate of 133.04.
  • James Bazley has impressed so far this season. He took 3/28 and struck 16* in his last game against the Renegades.
  • Mujeeb ur Rahman has taken 15 wickets in 12 matches at the Gabba at an economy rate of just 6.15.
  • Xavier Bartlett (26* and 1/20) played well against the Thunder two weeks ago. He has taken seven wickets in six T20s at the Gabba (avg. 20), and will be key against the Thunder top order and at the death

Sydney Thunder:

  • Will Alex Hales deliver? He has made a slow start to the season, including a duck against the Heat. He was the top run-scorer in last season’s BBL (543), so he is capable of delivering at any moment.
  • Hales has a poor overall record vs Heat (6 inns, 81 runs, avg. 16.20), so it will be interesting to see how he fares here.
  • Alex Ross, on the other hand, is in outstanding form. The right-hander has struck two half-centuries in three games in BBL 11, including 61* off 46 vs Heat earlier this season.
  • Sam Billings batted nicely against the Heat two weeks ago, striking an unbeaten 44* off 36 balls. He has scored 100 runs against the Heat at an average of 50.00 and strike rate of 131.58.
  • Daniel Sams has enjoyed great success vs the Heat with both bat and ball. He has smashed 131 runs in six innings at an average of 26.20 and strike rate of 211.29. He also has the most wickets in Heat-Thunder matches with 11 scalps in eight matches, including 3/22 earlier this season.
  • Gurinder Sandhu is conceding just 6.80 runs per over so far this season. He bowled an excellent spell of 2/17 vs Heat earlier this year.
  • Saqib Mahmood is set to make his BBL debut. The Englishman has had a superb year in short-form cricket, taking 29 wickets in 19 matches. Also, he was player of the series in England’s terrific ODI series win against Pakistan earlier this year with nine wickets.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 15, Heat 10, Thunder 4, N/R 1.
  • Thunder (141/3) beat the Heat (140/8) comfortably in Canberra two weeks ago.
  • Jimmy Peirson has a good record against the Thunder: 10 innings, 179 runs, avg. 35.80, SR 126.95.

Possible Playing 11

Brisbane Heat have named their squad, with Mark Steketee on deck.

Brisbane Heat: 1. Chris Lynn, 2. Max Bryant, 3. Ben Duckett, 4. Sam Heazlett, 5. Tom Abell, 6. Jimmy Peirson (c & wk), 7. James Bazley, 8. Xavier Bartlett, 9. Mark Steketee, 10. Mujeeb ur Rahman, 11. Liam Guthrie/Mitch Swepson

Saqib Mahmood is available for Sydney Thunder. It remains to be seen who he comes in for in the bowling attack.

Sydney Thunder: 1. Alex Hales, 2. Sam Whiteman, 3. Matthew Gilkes, 4. Sam Billings (wk), 5. Alex Ross, 6. Ben Cutting, 7. Daniel Sams, 8. Nathan McAndrew/Gurinder Sandhu, 9. Chris Green (c), 10. Saqib Mahmood, 11. Tanveer Sangha

Gabba Pitch Report and Weather

It wasn’t particularly high scoring at the Gabba in last season’s BBL, with the average first innings score just 152.33 in six matches. But, the Gabba is almost always a good batting surface, with some bounce available too.

A mostly sunny day is forecast in Brisbane with a top of about 30 degrees.

Cricket News: #WorldStandsWithKohli trends as fans show support for Kohli vs BCCI | Fans support Virat Kohli against BCCI ahead of South Africa tour

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has again come under scrutiny for its communication strategy (or lack thereof), with conflicting statements presented to the media by the board itself and former white-ball captain Virat Kohli.

Earlier this week, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said that the board tried to convince Kohli to continue at T20I captain after the batsman made his decision to resign from the role.

“We had requested Virat not to step down as T20 captain but he didn’t want to continue as captain,” Ganguly said to PTI. “So, the selectors felt that they cannot have two white-ball captains in two white-ball formats. That’s too much of leadership.”

However, Kohli then threw a curveball in his own press conference, claiming that there was no communication from the board after he decided to quit as captain. Also, Kohli, who has served his country so well, said he was told that he would be relieved of the ODI captaincy just one-and-a-half hours before the official announcement.

“When I decided to leave the T20I captaincy and approached the BCCI about my decision, it was received well – there was no offence or hesitation, I wasn’t told to reconsider it.

“I was contacted one-and-a-half hours before the selection meeting on December 8 for the Test series,” said Kohli in a press conference. “There was no prior communication to me at all from when I announced the T20I captaincy decision until the eighth (of December) where, as I said, I got a call one-and-a-half hours before the selection meeting.

BCCI’s poor communication exposed again

This episode once again highlights the BCCI’s poor communication.

Sachin Tendulkar was contacted by a member of the media all those years ago to notify him that he was no longer to be captain.

Fans often rely on journalists to provide team information, with the BCCI’s Twitter handle as inactive as they get.

When MS Dhoni retired from international cricket last year, the board was slammed for such a poor, meek response to one of their greats announcing he would no longer represent the country.

The time is right for a women’s IPL, but there isn’t even a murmur of it from board level.

India’s tour of South Africa begins in just over a week’s time, and such a distraction is never ideal ahead of what is a huge opportunity for India to win their first ever Test series in the country. Here are some of the Twitter reactions in support of Virat Kohli.

England fans hurting after another tough day in Australia

Cricket News: England fans hurting after another tough day in Australia | England fans disappointed after England struggle again down under

We have seen this episode many times before. England, who came into the Adelaide Test meeting a side without Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins, lacked penetration of their own as Australia ground them down once again.

Their decade-long wait for a Test win looks set to continue unless something extraordinary happens. After swearing to change their bowling strategy in Australia after losing 4-0 in 2017/18, England picked a near identical attack that conceded over 400 in the Adelaide pink ball Test four years ago.

And they struggled to create chances on day one of the 2021 Adelaide Test, with David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne playing patiently to wear the bowlers down. Plus, Joe Root’s team missed key chances, most notably an absolute sitter put down by keeper Jos Buttler soon after the second new ball was taken.

After picking five seamers who all bowl at a similar pace and style, England tried to adopt a short ball strategy via Ben Stokes in the quest for variety. While it nearly worked, England were left to work so hard just to pick up one wicket instead of providing a constant threat throughout the day.

To make matters worse, Friday is set to be a scorcher in Adelaide with temperatures nearing 40 degrees. If they don’t break the Smith-Labuschagne partnership early, England could be in for another long day in the field before being asked to bat against a new ball under lights.

England fans are hurting. It is a sense of deja vu. If they have a poor second day, the Ashes may be all but done after succumbing meekly in Brisbane. Here are some of the Twitter reactions from fans about yet another day of struggle in an Ashes Test in Australia.

Ashes 2021/22 2nd Test: AUS vs ENG Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | Ashes 2nd Test Dream11 Prediction | Australia vs England 2nd Test Key Players | Adelaide Pitch Report

The second Test hasn’t even started yet, but it already feels as though England’s hopes in this Ashes series is on life support courtesy of their decision making and execution in the first Test. And they have received a welcome boost with Pat Cummins ruled out of the Test due to being a close COVID-19 contact.

After leaving both James Anderson and Stuart Broad out on a seaming pitch, England were bowled out for 147 after choosing to bat. From there, they were always behind the eight ball, with their lack of runs in Test cricket once again haunting them. And once again in Australia, the bowlers were left with too much to do, and had to toil hard to even keep their heads above water.

Apart from the Root-Malan stand in the second innings, England didn’t offer much resistance with. Even from ball one. There is plenty of talk about England’s bowling attack with the pink ball, but Australia are very capable in such conditions themselves, even with both Hazlewood and Cummins out. Nonetheless, it still represents a huge opportunity for England.

For Australia, apart from the third evening in Brisbane and Josh Hazlewood’s injury, pretty much everything went to plan to take a 1-0 lead. Now, it’s time for Jhye Richardson to shine, while Steve Smith will be looking to make his mark after looking like a child lost in a candy store at the crease in Brisbane. They start as favourites, and will want to push England onto the backfoot right away given England’s inability to fight back from difficult positions in 2021.

A win here for Australia will almost certainly mean the Ashes will remain in their grasp. For England, a good start – with either bat or ball – is absolutely crucial.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Australia:

  • David Warner has a magnificent record at Adelaide. He has struck 1,045 runs in 15 innings at an average of 80.38, including 335* vs Pakistan in 2019. His battle with Stuart Broad, who dismissed him seven times in the 2019 Ashes, will be interesting to watch with the pink ball.
  • Marnus Labuschagne help set things up for Australia in Brisbane with an excellent 74. He left the ball beautifully. He struck 162 against Pakistan on this ground in 2019, and he averages 53.58 vs England with five fifties in as many Tests against them. Can he finally get that century?
  • Will Steve Smith produce his best here? He was uncharacteristically nervous at the Gabba, and returns to a ground he averages 54.77 at. Smith has, however, made a number of uncoverted starts in Day/Night Tests at Adelaide: 53, 14, 59, 40, 40, 6.
  • Smith is 188 runs away from 3,000 against England. The great batsman averages 63.90 in 28 Tests vs England.
  • What a knock it was from Travis Head at the Gabba. His 152 earnt him the player of the match award, and he will be aiming to produce the goods at his home ground.
  • Watch out for Mitchell Starc in the Day/Night Test. He loves bowling with the pink ball. He has 46 wickets in eight pink ball Tests at an average of 18.86 and strike rate of 36. He took 3/43 and 5/88 vs England in the 2017 Adelaide Test.
  • Jhye Richardson is averaging 13 in Shield cricket this season. He will be keen to make a big impact with the pink ball in the absence of Cummins and Hazlewood.
  • There is plenty of sunshine and warm weather forecast across the five days, so expect Nathan Lyon to play a key role in this Test as the pitch dries out and takes turn. He has the second-most wickets of any bowler in Test history at the Adelaide Oval, with 51 scalps at an average of 26.94.

England:

  • Joe Root is having a dream year, and became England’s highest run-scorer in a calendar year (1,544 runs, avg. 64.33). He looked in good touch at the Gabba, missing out on his ton in the second innings.
  • England needs Root to deliver here. He has scored two half-centuries in two Tests at Adelaide.
  • Dawid Malan also looked in good touch at the Gabba. He scored 89 in the second dig, and England needs more of the same from Malan at the top.
  • Will Ben Stokes be better for the run? He was finding his feet at the Gabba, and England will be hoping he finds his best form here. He averages 36.15 overall vs Australia – can he boost this up closer to 40 in this Test?
  • Jos Buttler looked in good touch in both innings at Brisbane, only to get out after making starts (39 and 23). He has the ability to turn these starts into bigger scores – will this be Buttler’s time?
  • Ollie Robinson was arguably England’s best bowler at the Gabba. It was an impressive performance in his first overseas Test, finishing with 3/58 in the first innings. Also, Robinson needs to play a role with the bat.
  • Chris Woakes took 4/36 in the 2017 Adelaide Test, while James Anderson took 5/38. They were both superb under lights in that Test, and it will be fascinating to see how they fare here.

Stats and Facts

  • Australia have won all of their six Day/Night Tests so far.
  • England have not won a Test in Australia since 2011 (11 Tests).
  • Alex Carey took the most catches by any wicket-keeper on men’s Test debut (8).
  • Cameron Green is finding his feet with the ball. His three wickets were crucial for Australia at the Gabba.
  • Stuart Broad took 2/72 and 0/26 in the 2017 Adelaide Test.

Possible Playing 11

On the morning of the match, Pat Cummins was ruled out due to coming in close contact with a person who contracted COVID-19. Steve Smith will captain and Michael Neser will debut. Jhye Richardson is selected to replace Josh Hazlewood. Also, David Warner is fit after copping a blow to the ribs.

Australia: 1. David Warner, 2. Marcus Harris, 3. Marnus Labuschagne, 4. Steve Smith (c), 5. Travis Head, 6. Cameron Green, 7. Alex Carey (wk), 8. Michael Neser, 9. Mitchell Starc, 10. Jhye Richardson, 11. Nathan Lyon

England have named their 12-man squad for the Test. Mark Wood has been rested. Jack Leach has been included, but it will be interesting to see whether they pick him after he struggled badly in Brisbane. The pitch is expected to turn later in the Test.

England: 1. Rory Burns, 2. Haseeb Hameed, 3. Dawid Malan, 4. Joe Root (c), 5. Ben Stokes, 6. Ollie Pope, 7. Jos Buttler (wk), 8. Ollie Robinson, 9. Chris Woakes/Jack Leach, 10. Stuart Broad, 11. James Anderson

Adelaide Oval Pitch Report and Weather

Alex Carey was pictured inspecting the wicket. It has a slight green tinge, but it certainly looks like a bat first pitch. The best time for bowlers will be under lights, so it is important to have set batsmen at the crease when the evening kicks in.

The forecast is fine for all five days, but the surface may break up towards the end of the Test due to plenty of sunshine and a very hot day on Friday (top of 37 degrees).

Match Prediction

The pink ball looks like England’s best bet in this series. Plus, Cummins and Hazlewood are out. If they can put enough runs on the board, they have enough skill in their pace attack to challenge Australia especially under lights. Australia still start as favourites, but England have a huge chance now.

BBL 2021/22 Match 13: STA vs SIX Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

BBL 2021/22 Match 13: STA vs SIX Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | STA vs SIX Dream11 Prediction Today | Stars vs Sixers Key Players | MCG Pitch Report

Just a week-and-a-half ago, Sydney Sixers inflicted the biggest ever BBL defeat on Melbourne Stars. The 152-run annihilation, set up by Josh Philippe (83) and Moises Henriques (76*) gave the back-to-back champions the most perfect start to the season.

However, fast forward 10 days later and things are looking quite different. The Sixers endured two rocky games against Hobart Hurricanes, winning one (after being reduced to 39/5) and losing the other. The Stars, on the other hand, beat Sydney Thunder twice, with Marcus Stoinis, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Andre Russell giving this team a great deal of strength on paper.

With these players now on deck, the Stars are well placed to try and gain some revenge. Russell was outstanding against the Thunder in combination with an efficient bowling attack that was originally depleted the last time they came up against the Sixers. If they can beat the Sixers here, it will certainly send a message to the rest of the competition.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Melbourne Stars:

  • Glenn Maxwell has scored the most runs in Stars-Sixers matches, with 573 at a superb average of 44.08 and strike rate of 154.45. He missed out against the Sixers 10 days ago (4), but he will be looking to make amends after looking good last match vs Thunder (40 off 25 balls).
  • Maxwell has the most T20 runs of any player at the MCG. The right-hander has struck 967 runs in 40 innings at an average of 29.30 and strike rate of 138.94.
  • Andre Russell is in brilliant touch. The all-rounder smashed 42* off 21 balls in a player of the match performance vs Thunder, soon after smashing 90* off 32 balls in the T10 Final.
  • Marcus Stoinis is yet to fire in BBL 11 (13 off 13 balls and 31 off 30 balls), but today could be his day. He scored a superb 147 on this ground against the Sixers a few years ago, part of 280 runs against them at an average of 40.00 and strike rate of 165.58.
  • Stoinis has scored the fourth-most runs in all T20s at the MCG. The opener has struck 836 runs in 31 innings at an average of 33.44 and strike rate of 129.21.
  • Hilton Cartwright loves batting at the MCG. The in-form right-hander has struck 262 runs on this ground at an average of 87.33 and strike rate of 143.96. Also, Cartwright has a decent career record vs Sixers: 12 inns, 231 runs, avg. 33.00, SR 142.59.
  • Adam Zampa is equal with Maxwell for the most wickets by a Stars bowler vs Sixers (11). These 11 wickets have come in eight games at an average of 19.55 and economy rate of 7.17. Also, Zampa has the most wickets of any bowler in T20s at the MCG: 27 inns, 35 wickets, avg. 19.14, econ. 6.90.
  • Brody Couch has taken five wickets in three games so far in BBL 11, including 2/36 vs Sixers. Qais Ahmed has also made a very good start to BBL 11, taking 1/23 and 2/17 so far.

Sydney Sixers:

  • Josh Philippe slammed 83 off 47 balls 10 days ago vs Stars, albeit against a more inexperienced bowling attack. He is coming off another good score last game where he struck 72 off 46 balls against the Hurricanes.
  • Moises Henriques is having a fine season so far. He smashed 76* (38) vs Stars, followed by 75 and 28* against the Hurricanes. Overall against Stars, Henriques has scored 374 runs at an average of 26.71 and strike rate of 147.83.
  • Henriques will be aiming to improve his record at the MCG. He has scored 255 runs in 13 innings on this ground at an average of 21.25 and strike rate of 142.26.
  • James Vince struck 44 off 26 balls 10 days ago vs Stars, but this will be a tougher test. Overall, he has scored 167 runs at 23.86 vs Stars, and averages similar at the MCG (20.86).
  • Jordan Silk scored a duck in his only innings so far in BBL 11. Today, he meets a team he has a good record against: 11 inns, 246 runs, avg. 49.20, SR 115.49. Silk also has a fine record at the MCG: 6 inns, 210 runs, avg. 70, SR 125.
  • Ben Dwarshuis is expected to return to the Sixers XI today. He has the most wickets in Stars-Sixers matches with 17 in 12 matches at an average of 21.06 and economy rate of 8.17.
  • Dwarshuis also has 12 wickets in eight matches at the MCG at an average of 21.17 and strike rate of 15.
  • Steve O’Keefe blew the Stars away 10 days ago with figures of 4/14. The Stars do have their full team on paper today, so O’Keefe will be key in limiting their progress, especially in the powerplay.
  • Sean Abbott has taken 15 wickets in 11 matches at the MCG (avg. 20.20) and 13 wickets in 11 matches vs Stars (avg. 21.92).

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 17, Stars 7, Sixers 10.
  • Sixers (213/4) beat Stars (61) by 152 runs in the first match of BBL 11.
  • Dan Christian struck 49 off 23 balls last season against the Stars. He averages 31.45 with the bat against them at a strike rate of 133.08, and has five wickets, too.
  • Tom Curran has taken five wickets in three matches this season, albeit on the expensive side (econ. 10.04).

Possible Playing 11

Melbourne Stars named an unchanged squad for this match. The playing 11 could be the same as well.

Melbourne Stars: 1. Marcus Stoinis, 2. Joe Clarke (wk), 3. Nick Larkin, 4. Glenn Maxwell (c), 5. Andre Russell, 6. Hilton Cartwright, 7. Beau Webster, 8. Nathan Coulter-Nile, 9. Adam Zampa, 10. Qais Ahmed, 11. Brody Couch

Ben Dwarshuis is set to play after recovering from a side strain. He has been named in the Sydney Sixers’ squad.

Sydney Sixers: 1. Josh Philippe (wk), 2. James Vince, 3. Moises Henriques (c), 4. Daniel Hughes, 5. Jordan Silk, 6. Daniel Christian, 7. Tom Curran, 8. Sean Abbott, 9. Chris Jordan, 10. Ben Dwarshuis, 11. Steve O’Keefe

MCG Pitch Report and Weather

There is a chance of a shower in the early afternoon in Melbourne, but the conditions should be fine for the match. Another cold evening is forecast, with a top of just 18 degrees during the day.

The Stars won a tight match vs Thunder on this ground last week (165 vs 161), with the surface proving to be a pretty good one for batting. Expect another easy-paced track here, with the very large square boundaries bound to have the bowlers bowling shorter of a length.

Slowers balls into the pitch will be key. The likes of Dan Christian, Tom Curran and Chris Jordan can do this well for the Sixers. Nathan Coulter-Nile will be key for the Stars in this regard.

BBL 2021/22 Match 12: HUR vs SCO Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | HUR vs SCO Dream11 Prediction Today | Hurricanes vs Scorchers Key Players | Hobart Pitch Report

Just days after Hobart was awarded the fifth and final Ashes Test, Australia’s southernmost capital city will be treated to another potentially great event.

Not only do Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers – two sides who have a great chance of reaching the playoffs – meet in this intruiging battle, quality players are returning from Australia A duty and quarantine. The Hurricanes welcome Scott Boland and Englishman Harry Brook while the Scorchers have World Cup hero Mitch Marsh, Josh Inglis and Tymal Mills on deck for this one.

How will the battle of the openers go – particularly Colin Munro vs Matthew Wade? Both dominated in their recent outings, with Munro bringing up a century against the Strikers while Wade blew champions Sydney Sixers away. Also, both teams have good bowling units, so this promises to be an absolute cracker in Hobart.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Hobart Hurricanes:

  • Matthew Wade was in irresistible form against the Sixers, belting 93 off 46 balls to set up the Hurricanes’ huge score of 213/2. Wade has a modest record vs Scorchers (143 runs, avg. 23.83, SR 141.58). He does have a score of 71 against them and can fire at any moment.
  • Wade has similar numbers at Bellerive Oval in T20s: 17 inns, 401 runs, avg. 26.73, SR 147.97. Can he improve on these numbers?
  • D’Arcy Short has taken a while to get going this season, but he found some fluency in his 73* off 51 balls last game vs Sixers. Short has the most runs in Hurricanes-Scorchers matches with 294 at an average of 49.00 and strike rate of 124.05. This includes a century.
  • Short has the second-most runs of any player in T20s at Bellerive Oval. He has struck 860 runs on this ground at an average of 37.39 and strike rate of 142.86.
  • Caleb Jewell has been in excellent form. He recently struck a century in Sheffield Shield and has made scores of 20 (11) and 42 (23) so far in BBL 11.
  • Tim David struck scores of 31* (23) and 27 (19) vs Scorchers last season. Also, David has a strong record on this ground with 122 runs in three innings at an average of 40.67 and strike rate of 154.43.
  • Harry Brook has had a brilliant year in short-form cricket. In 18 matches, he has smashed 675 runs at an average of 61.36 and strike rate of 150.33.
  • Nathan Ellis has seven wickets in four matches against Scorchers (avg. 18.86, econ. 8.80). Also, he has taken 14 wickets in 10 matches on this ground at an excellent economy rate of 7.12.
  • Joel Paris will come up against his former team. Paris took 3/35 against Sixers last game, and he will be motivated to do well today.

Perth Scorchers:

  • What a knock by Colin Munro the other night. The left-hander slammed 114* off 73 balls against the Strikers, and he will be looking to make another big impact today. He has played just the one match vs Hurricanes so far, scoring 5.
  • Welcome back, Mitch Marsh. The right-hander has had a dream year in T20s, making the number three position his own and leading Australia to a World Cup triumph. He has scored 203 runs in seven innings vs Hurricanes at an average of 29.00 and strike rate of 129.30.
  • Josh Inglis is also back for the Scorchers. The hard-hitting keeper-batsman has 141 runs in four innings vs Hurricanes at an average of 47.00 and strike rate of 156.67.
  • Ashton Agar has taken eight wickets in six matches vs Hurricanes at an average of 18.00 and economy rate of 6.26.
  • Jason Behrendhorff was too good for the Strikers a few nights ago, taking 3/22. He will be crucial for the Scorchers against the Hurricanes’ opening pair. He has taken seven wickets in eight matches vs Hurricanes at an average of 29.14 and economy rate of 7.29.
  • Tymal Mills promises to be a wonderful addition to the Scorchers squad. He has taken 32 wickets in 23 short-form matches this year at an economy rate if just 6.68. He will be key at the death with his variations, which increases his wicket-taking potential.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 15, Hurricanes 6, Scorchers 9.
  • Scorchers have won their last three matches against Hurricanes.
  • Hurricanes could look to stick with Tom Rogers as he has taken seven wickets in four matches against the Scorchers.
  • Andrew Tye will be key at the death, and is coming off a spell of 3/21 vs Strikers. He has a poor record vs Hurricanes though, with five wickets in seven matches at an average of 41.80 and economy rate of 8.71.

Possible Playing 11

Englishman Harry Brook should slot into the Hobart Hurricanes’ middle order. Also, Scott Boland should come in for Josh Kann.

Hobart Hurricanes: 1. Matthew Wade (c & wk), 2. D’Arcy Short, 3. Caleb Jewell, 4. Peter Handscomb, 5. Tim David, 6. Harry Brook, 7. Jordan Thompson, 8. Joel Paris, 9. Nathan Ellis, 10. Scott Boland/Tom Rogers, 11. Sandeep Lamichhane

Ashton Turner will lead what is a stacked Perth Scorchers side. Kurtis Patterson has performed well this season, but it looks like there will be no room for him.

Perth Scorchers: 1. Colin Munro, 2. Cameron Bancroft, 3. Mitch Marsh, 4. Josh Inglis (wk), 5. Ashton Turner (c), 6. Laurie Evans, 7. Ashton Agar, 8. Matthew Kelly, 9. Jason Behrendhorff, 10. Peter Hatzoglou, 11. Tymal Mills

Bellerive Oval Pitch Report and Weather

It is often a good, true batting surface at Bellerive Oval. In eight BBL matches last season, the average first innings score was 171, with the team batting first winning six of those games.

A partly cloudy and mild evening is on the radar for tonight’s game. This could limit the amount of dew. Rain is very unlikely to play a factor.

PAK vs WI 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report

PAK vs WI 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible Playing 11 Pitch Report | PAK vs WI 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | Pakistan vs West Indies Key Players | Karachi Pitch Report

In fantastic news for all associated with Pakistan, international cricket returns to the country after a period of disappointment and heartbreak. New Zealand pulled out of their tour at the last minute, with England following suit soon after, raising doubts as to when cricket would be played again in Pakistan.

Soon after the World Cup, Babar Azam’s team will take the field in Karachi as they continue their preparations for next year’s showpiece tournament in Australia. Pakistan were so close to reaching the recent T20 World Cup Final, and then swept aside Bangladesh 3-0 in challenging conditions. As they build a solid team, they will be looking to continue the momentum against a West Indies side that will have to produce something special to challenge the home side.

The tourists are further depleted with COVID-19 infiltrating their squad. Roston Chase, Sheldon Cottrell and Kyle Mayers are all unavailable as a result, putting significant onus on the likes of Shai Hope, Darren Bravo and Nicholas Pooran to lead the way from a batting perspective. Also, there is a big question mark as to whether the Windies attack – which is set to include members who performed well in CPL 2021 – can make inroads into Pakistan’s in form top order.

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Pakistan:

  • Babar Azam loves playing against West Indies. He has the most runs in PAK-WI T20Is, with 454 at an average of 56.75 and strike rate of 125.41.
  • Also, Babar has a remarkable record in T20s at Karachi. In 26 matches, Babar has struck 1,178 runs at an average of 69.29 and strike rate of 135.56. No player has more runs than Azam on this ground.
  • Mohammad Rizwan also enjoys batting at Karachi. In 10 innings on this ground, Rizwan has hit 390 runs at an average of 48.75 and strike rate of 134.48. Also, Rizwan is having a year to remember, with 1,833 runs in 45 short-form matches at an average of 55.55 and strike rate of 129.54.
  • Fakhar Zaman is in some great form. The left-hander has struck 55*, 34 and 57* in his last three T20Is. He has a solid T20 record at Karachi, with 563 runs in 16 innings at an average of 37.53 and strike rate of 140.75.
  • Shadab Khan has the most wickets in PAK-WI T20s. The leg-spinner has 15 wickets in nine matches against them at an average of 11.20 and economy rate of 5.28. Also, Shadab has taken nine wickets in his last four T20Is, including 4/26 in the T20 World Cup Semi Final against Australia.
  • Another first over wicket for Shaheen Shah Afridi coming up? The left-arm fast bowler has taken 15 wickets in 11 innings on this ground and is having a great year: 35 matches, 47 wickets, econ. 7.84.

West Indies:

  • Nicholas Pooran has the most runs against Pakistan out of any current WI squad member. The skipper has scored 100 runs against Pakistan at an average of 25 and strike rate of 151.52. This includes a score of 62* off 33 balls earlier this year.
  • West Indies need Shai Hope to hold the innings together. He had a poor CPL 2021 campaign (141 runs, avg. 17.62), so the Windies will be hoping for a turnaround.
  • Romario Shepherd is one to watch. And arguably a player the Windies should have picked in their T20 World Cup squad. He took 18 wickets in nine matches in CPL 2021, in addition to 109 runs at a strike rate of 165.15.
  • Odean Smith also took 18 wickets in CPL 2021 (11 matches, avg. 14.88, SR 11.8). He bowled with good pace, and his variations could come in handy today.
  • Akeal Hosein is fast improving as a T20 bowler. He was one of the bright spots in a disappointing World Cup campaign for the Windies, taking five wickets at an economy rate of 7.00.

Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 18, Pakistan 12, West Indies 3, N/R 1.
  • Pakistan beat West Indies 1-0 in a T20I series earlier this year, with three matches washed out.
  • Pakistan have beaten West Indies in all three of their meetings on this ground – back in 2018.
  • Rovman Powell averages just three vs Pakistan (15 runs in five innings). As an experienced player, he needs to deliver here.
  • Mohammad Hasnain has taken 21 wickets in 12 matches at Karachi.

Possible Playing 11

Pakistan are close to full strength, with Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim and Hassan not to feature.

Pakistan: 1. Babar Azam (c), 2. Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 3. Fakhar Zaman, 4. Haider Ali, 5. Khushdil Shah, 6. Asif Ali, 7. Shadab Khan, 8. Mohammad Nawaz, 9. Haris Rauf, 10. Shaheen Shah Afridi, 11. Shahnawaz Dahani/Mohammad Hasnain/Mohammad Wasim

West Indies are depleted due to COVID-19. Roston Chase, Sheldon Cottrell and Kyle Mayers are out of the series due to contracting the virus.

West Indies: 1. Brandon King, 2. Shai Hope, 3. Darren Bravo, 4. Nicholas Pooran (c & wk), 5. Rovman Powell, 6. Romario Shepherd, 7. Odean Smith, 8. Dominic Drakes, 9. Akeal Hosein, 10. Hayden Walsh Jr, 11. Oshane Thomas

Karachi Pitch Report and Weather

Karachi is typically a batting paradise. Expect a good batting surface with a clear evening forecast. The match starts at 6.00pm local time, which means dew might not set in till a lot later in the game. Still, expect the captain who wins the toss to choose to field first.
