ZIM vs BAN 2nd T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report

ZIM vs BAN 2nd T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report | ZIM vs BAN 2nd T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | Harare Pitch Report

It was quite the day at Harare Sports Club on Saturday. A big, vocal crowd got right behind Zimbabwe as they sealed an excellent victory over Bangladesh, soon after winning the T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament earlier this month.

Sikandar Raza continued from where he left off in that tournament. His 65* off 26 balls blew the Tigers away, after Wessly Madhevere and Sean Williams set the groundwork. You can bet that he is glad that the second T20I is on the very next day.

So too the Zimbabwe bowlers. Richard Ngavara’s brilliant 19th over under pressure is cause for optimism, and they will be out for another strong showing in the absence of Blessing Muzarabani and Tendai Chatara.

For Bangladesh, it looked on paper that their batting was thin given that 391 matches worth of experience was missing in the form of Shakib, Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah and Tamim. However, it is the bowling that is now under the spotlight, after they crucially conceded 77 runs in the final five overs of Zimbabwe’s innings.

If they don’t get their act together in the field, they will stare a 2-0 series deficit in the face.

ZIM vs BAN 2nd T20 Possible Playing 11

Wessly Madhevere retired hurt yesterday. However, he did come out to field.

Zimbabwe: 1. Regis Chakabva (wk), 2. Craig Ervine (c), 3. Wessly Madhevere, 4. Sean Williams, 5. Sikandar Raza, 6. Milton Shumba, 7. Ryan Burl, 8. Luke Jongwe, 9. Wellington Masakadza, 10. Richard Ngarava, 11. Tanaka Chivanga

Bangladesh could look to bring in Mahedi Hasan.

Bangladesh: 1. Munim Shahriar, 2. Litton Das, 3. Anamul Haque, 4. Najmul Hossain Shanto, 5. Afif Hossain, 6. Nurul Hasan (c & wk), 7. Mosaddek Hossain, 8. Mahedi Hasan/Taskin Ahmed, 9. Nasum Ahmed, 10. Mustafizur Rahman, 11. Shoriful Islam

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Zimbabwe:

  • Before the first T20I, Sikandar Raza averaged 7.91 in 12 T20Is vs Bangladesh. He blew that number out the window with a 25-ball 66* to win man of the match.
  • In the recent T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament, Raza smashed 228 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 176.74. He also took five wickets, including 4/8 in the Final.
  • Wessly Madhevere has now struck three half-centuries in four home T20Is against Bangladesh. His 67* yesterday took him to 217 runs at home against the Tigers at an average of 72.33 and strike rate of 133.95.
  • Madhevere also has the most T20I runs of any player at Harare: 10 inns, 360 runs, avg. 40.00, SR 129.49.
  • Sean Williams produced an impactful all-round display in the first T20I. His 33 (19) helped set the tone and he also bowled two very economical overs (0/7).
  • Ryan Burl didn’t get the opportunity to bat or bowl in the first T20I. If he gets the chance, watch out as he strikes at 169.33 vs Bangladesh (127 runs).
  • Luke Jongwe continued his love affair with Harare Sports Club. The seamer now has 23 wickets in 15 T20s on this ground at a strike rate of 11.5. He also has seven scalps in four T20Is vs Bangladesh.

Bangladesh:

  • Nurul Hasan played his best T20I knock yesterday. The Bangladesh captain kept his team in the hunt with a 26-ball 42*.
  • Much is required of Litton Das. He was looking in fine touch (32 off 19 balls) before a run out crucially ended his innings. Overall against Zimbabwe in T20Is, Litton has scored 225 runs in six innings at an average of 45.00 and strike rate of 149.00.
  • Najmul Hossain Shanto struck at 148 in the first T20I (37 off 25 balls). He is one of the key players that needs to link the top order and middle-lower order for Bangladesh.
  • Mustafizur Rahman finished poorly with the ball yesterday. He will be keen to bounce back against an opponent he usually enjoys bowling against (20 wickets in 10 matches vs ZIM, SR 11.8).
  • Shoriful Islam also had a poor outing. But, the law of averages suggest he could be back in wicket-taking form as he has gone wicketless in just six of his 22 T20Is. Also, he has seven wickets to his name in five T20Is against Zimbabwe.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 17, Zimbabwe 6, Bangladesh 11.
  • Bangladesh have lost 11 of their last 12 completed T20Is.
  • Craig Ervine averages just 17.33 vs Bangladesh (6 inns) and 14.52 in 11 T20Is at Harare.
  • Regis Chakabva averages only 16.71 in seven matches vs the Tigers. However, his strike rate of 146.25 is cause for optimism.
  • Bangladesh will be well served batting Afif Hossain up the order. He strikes at 148.61 in five T20 innings vs Zimbabwe.
  • Zimbabwe have never won a T20I series against Bangladesh.

Harare Sports Club Pitch Report and Weather

Expect similar conditions to the first T20I. It was a belter of a batting surface and the weather was pleasant.

Zimbabwe’s 205 was well above the average of 155.22 in the previous nine T20Is. Also, the team batting first has won seven of the past ten T20Is at Harare.

ZIM vs BAN 2nd T20 Match Prediction: Who will win?

Zimbabwe look good for a win once again. However, as Harare favours team batting first, and given both teams are not the best when chasing, a score of 160-170+ could prove to be a tricky total to chase.

England’s challenging month of white-ball cricket ends with a decider, and they are set to be challenged once again. South Africa showed why they are a team to watch on the world stage with a superb bounce back in the second T20I, led by Rilee Rossouw who transferred his brilliant T20 league form to Proteas colours.

So, what does the encounter have in store? If trends are to be followed, the team batting first will thrash a 200+ score and defend it quite comfortably. But, with the power that both teams possess, trends can easily be hit for six. A series win for either side against strong opposition can serve as great confidence heading into this year’s World Cup, and it is an opportunity both teams want to grasp with both hands.

For England, it is their 12th white-ball match in the space of 24 days. All the learnings might take some time to unpack in the coming days and weeks, but a victory in this match will come as sweet relief. For South Africa, a series win in England will certainly have many take more notice of this team, particularly given how good they were in last year’s World Cup. This should be interesting.

ENG vs SA 3rd T20 Possible Playing 11

England look set to back Jason Roy, but he is in need of a big knock. The home side may stick with the same team.

England: 1. Jason Roy, 2. Jos Buttler (c & wk), 3. Dawid Malan, 4. Jonny Bairstow, 5. Moeen Ali, 6. Liam Livingstone, 7. Sam Curran, 8. Chris Jordan, 9. Adil Rashid, 10. Richard Gleeson, 11. Reece Topley

Competition for places is heating up in the South Africa team. The Proteas might look to bring back one of Rassie van der Dussen or Aiden Markram for this clash. Also, Dwaine Pretorius could replace Andile Phehlukwayo despite the latter’s excellent fightback in the second T20I.

South Africa: 1. Quinton de Kock (wk), 2. Reeza Hendricks, 3. Rilee Rossouw, 4. Heinrich Klaasen/Rassie van der Dussen/Aiden Markram, 5. Tristan Stubbs, 6. David Miller (c), 7. Dwaine Pretorius/Andile Phehlukwayo, 8. Kagiso Rabada, 9. Keshav Maharaj, 10. Lungi Ngidi, 11. Tabraiz Shamsi

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

England:

  • Twice in this series has Jos Buttler looked good then got out. He has slammed 51 runs in just 21 balls. Even a slightly longer stay can be quite damaging to South Africa.
  • Buttler has the most runs in ENG-SA T20Is: 17 inns, 467 runs, avg. 33.35, SR 160.48. Also, the captain has a brilliant T20 record at Southampton: 8 inns, 297 runs, avg. 59.40, SR 152.31.
  • Jonny Bairstow is the leading run-scorer in this series with 120 at a strike rate of 162.16. He also has good numbers in T20s at The Rose Bowl: 5 inns, 183 runs, avg. 45.75, SR 130.71, 3 50s.
  • Dawid Malan will be looking to bounce back after getting dismissed in soft fashion in the second match. He is capable given his excellent record against SA: 8 inns, 343 runs, avg. 49.00, SR 158.79.
  • Also, Malan loves the third match of a T20I series. In ten such matches, Malan has scored 473 runs at an average of 52.55 and strike rate of 157.66. This includes a 99* vs SA.
  • Moeen Ali has slammed scores of 52 and 28 at a strike rate of 228.57 in this series. Also, England could look to use him in the powerplay again as he has dismissed Quinton de Kock five times for 61 runs in 44 balls in T20s.
  • Chris Jordan conceded just four runs in a brilliant final over at Cardiff. The seamer has the most wickets for England against South Africa in T20Is (16, SR 22.3) and has experience on this ground: 15 inns, 12 wickets, avg. 33.33, SR 26.00.
  • Reece Topley didn’t have his best outing in the second T20I, but he returns to a ground he enjoys bowling at. The left-armer has taken 10 wickets in six innings at The Rose Bowl at a strike rate of 12.20.
  • Adil Rashid in T20s on this ground: 6 inns, 8 wickets, avg. 16.00, econ. 6.30, SR 15.25.

South Africa:

  • What a knock it was by Rilee Rossouw at Cardiff. His 96* off 55 balls now takes him to 975 runs in T20s this year at an average of 48.75 and incredible strike rate of 185.01.
  • Interestingly however, The Rose Bowl is not one of Rossouw’s favoured grounds. He has struck just 251 runs in 16 innings here at an average of 16.73 and strike rate of 139.44.
  • Reeza Hendricks has made a case for his spot in the Proteas team. The opener has looked fluent in this series for his two fifties at a strike rate of 169.23.
  • Quinton de Kock has struck 141 runs in four T20s on this ground at an average of 70.50 and strike rate of 165.88. One feels the big innings is not too far away for de Kock – will today be the day?
  • Lungi Ngidi continues to take wickets against England. The seamer has taken an incredible 19 wickets in eight matches at a strike rate of 9.1. He has seven in this series alone.
  • The Tabraiz Shamsi of 2021 showed up at Cardiff (3/27). He dismissed Jason Roy, Moeen Ali and Sam Curran all within 11 overs. Can he produce the goods again?
  • Kagiso Rabada vs England: 8 matches, 10 wickets, avg. 27.70, SR 18.3.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 24, England 12, South Africa 11, 1 N/R.
  • Jason Roy has scored just 59 runs in 80 deliveries across five T20Is this season.
  • Quinton de Kock in T20Is vs England: 11 inns, 340 runs, avg. 30.90, SR 159.62.
  • Tristan Stubbs has struck 87 runs at a strike rate of 217.50. He smashed a memorable 72 off 28 balls in the opening T20I.
  • Sam Curran is yet to take a wicket this series and has conceded 9.25 per over.

The Rose Bowl Southampton Pitch Report and Weather

The forecast is for intervals of cloud and sunshine with a top of 24 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers, but it shouldn’t affect the contest too much.

The average first innings score in seven matches in the 2022 Blast is 164.57. The team batting first won four of the seven games.

NZ-W vs SA-W Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: CWG 2022 Match 3

NZ-W vs SA-W Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: CWG 2022 Match 3 | NZ-W vs SA-W Dream11 Prediction Today | Edgbaston Pitch Report

Can the Commonwealth Games revitalise both New Zealand and South Africa in what has been a challenging year for both teams? South Africa, courtesy of key absentees and a rampant England side, lost all their matches of their recent Test, ODI and T20I tour. New Zealand, now missing two of their great servants, begin a bit of a new era after a disappointing ODI World Cup at home earlier in 2022.

With England in such great form and favourites to top Group B, this clash shapes up as an important one for both sides. Win here and a spot in the Semi Finals is well in the grasp with a winnable game against Sri Lanka also on the horizon.

CWG 2022 Match 3: NZ-W vs SA-W Possible Playing 11

Amy Sattherthwaite and Katey Martin are no longer in the New Zealand setup following their retirements.

New Zealand: 1. Sophie Devine (c), 2. Suzie Bates, 3. Jessica McFayden (wk), 4. Amelia Kerr, 5. Maddy Green, 6. Georgia Plimmer, 7. Brooke Halliday, 8. Hannah Rowe, 9. Hayley Jensen/Fran Jonas, 10. Lea Tahuhu, 11. Rosemary Mair

In a huge blow, South Africa will be without Marizanne Kapp for this tournament.

South Africa: 1. Anneke Bosch, 2. Lara Goodall, 3. Tazmin Brits, 4. Laura Wolvaardt, 5. Sune Luus (c), 6. Mignon du Preez, 7. Chloe Tyron, 8. Sinalo Jafta (wk), 9. Ayabonga Khaka, 10. Nonkululeko Mlaba, 11. Shabnim Ismail

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

New Zealand:

  • The great Sophie Devine has the potential to win this almost on her own. She has an absolutely unbelievable record against South Africa, with 564 runs in nine T20Is at an average of 94.00 and strike rate of 144.25. Add 12 wickets at an average of 15.00 for good measure.
  • Suzie Bates struck a century in her last international, vs Pakistan in the ODI World Cup. She too has an excellent record against SA: 11 inns, 426 runs, avg. 53.25, SR 133.13.
  • Amelia Kerr has taken seven wickets in six T20Is vs South Africa at an average of 17.43 and economy of 5.55. Also, expect her to bat up the order.
  • Can Lea Tahuhu improve on her record vs SA? She has taken just two wickets in six matches at an average of 55.50 and economy of 6.94.
  • Rosemary Mair has three wickets in as many matches vs South Africa (avg. 20.33).

South Africa:

  • Laura Wolvaardt comes into CWG 2022 in good form. She scored a fifty in the recent T20I series against England and two fifties in the preceding ODI series.
  • Wolvaardt has scored just 114 runs in six T20Is against NZ (avg. 19.00), so an improvement is needed if SA are to win.
  • Anneke Bosch scored the most runs in the recent ENG-SA T20I series (96). Her strike rate of 97.95 will be under the microscope, however.
  • Tazmin Brits comes into this match on the back off a half-century against England five days ago.
  • Ayabonga Khaka had a good series against England. She took four wickets in three T20Is at an economy rate of just 5.09, including a spell of 3/13. Against NZ, Khaka has taken four wickets in as many matches.
  • The experienced Shabnim Ismail will be key to South Africa’s hopes. The team needs her to improve on her numbers against NZ: 10 inns, 5 wickets, avg. 56.00, econ. 8.00.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 12, New Zealand 9, South Africa 2, 1 N/R.
  • New Zealand have won six of the past seven matches between the teams.
  • New Zealand have won all four T20Is against South Africa in England.

Edgbaston Birmingham Pitch Report and Weather

Movement was on offer for the new ball bowlers yesterday, with Renuka Thakur impressing the most. But, once the ball got a little older, conditions became quite pleasant for batting, as shown by Harmanpreet Kaur, Grace Harris, Ashleigh Gardner, Hayley Matthews, Kycia Knight and Nida Dar.

According to AccuWeather, there is a chance of a passing shower throughout the day. Hopefully, there should be enough play for a result.

If any Bangladesh fan was ever worried about life without their big four, it’s time to face that fear. The Tigers are without Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim (all rested), and Tamim Iqbal (retired from T20Is) for this series against a Zimbabwe team with some reason to believe.

The home side are coming off a triumph in the T20 World Cup Qualifier, thus booking their ticket to the showpiece tournament later this year. Also, they have plenty to look forward to, with a visit by India in a couple of weeks followed by a tour of Australia. This, indeed, is a perfect opportunity to build more confidence with Bangladesh missing 391 matches worth of experience in their big four.

However, Zimbabwe themselves will have to cope with the absence of strike bowlers Blessing Muzarabani and Tendai Chatara. While Bangladesh have experience missing, there is still enough talent in their ranks to make Zimbabwe pay if they aren’t on their game. However, the Tigers will have to turn around some terrible form in this format, including a 2-0 defeat in West Indies recently.

ZIM vs BAN 1st T20 Possible Playing 11

In the absence of Muzarabani and Chatara, Zimbabwe may look to stick with the same team that beat Netherlands in the World Cup Qualifier Final.

Zimbabwe: 1. Regis Chakabva (wk), 2. Craig Ervine (c), 3. Sean Williams, 4. Wessly Madhevere, 5. Sikandar Raza, 6. Milton Shumba, 7. Ryan Burl, 8. Tony Munyonga, 9. Luke Jongwe, 10. Wellington Masakadza, 11. Richard Ngarava

Parvez Hossain Emon, Anamul Haque and Najmul Hossain Shanto are all likely to feature for Bangladesh. Wicket-keeper batsman Nurul Hasan will lead the team.

Bangladesh: 1. Litton Das, 2. Parvez Hossain Emon, 3. Anamul Haque, 4. Najmul Hossain Shanto, 5. Afif Hossain, 6. Nurul Hasan (c & wk), 7. Mosaddek Hossain, 8. Mahedi Hasan, 9. Shoriful Islam, 10. Mustafizur Rahman, 11. Nasum Ahmed

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

Zimbabwe:

  • Sikandar Raza was outstanding in the T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. The all-rounder smashed 228 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 176.74, and took five wickets including 4/8 in the Final.
  • Can Raza improve on a shocking record against Bangladesh? In 12 matches, he has scored just 95 runs at an average of 7.91.
  • Wessly Madhevere has scored two half-centuries in three home T20Is against Bangladesh. Also, in all T20s at Harare, Madhevere has struck 338 runs in 11 matches at an average of 33.80 and strike rate of 123.36.
  • Can Craig Ervine (avg. 16.60 in five matches) and Sean Williams (avg. 11.91 in 12 matches) improve on their poor numbers against the Tigers? Williams recently scored two fifties in five innings in the Qualifier and this will be his first home T20I against Bangladesh since 2013.
  • In five T20Is against Bangladesh, Ryan Burl has smashed 127 runs at a strike rate of 169.33. Also, he was good with the ball in the Qualifier, and now has 11 wickets in 12 matches at Harare (econ. 6.35).
  • Luke Jongwe enjoys bowling at Harare. The seamer has taken 21 wickets in 14 T20s on this ground at a strike rate of 11.48 deliveries per wicket. Last year, he took five scalps in three matches against the Tigers.

Bangladesh:

  • Step up, Litton Das. He has a superb record against Zimbabwe across formats. In T20Is, he has struck 193 runs in five matches at an average of 48.25 and strike rate of 146.21, including two fifties.
  • Afif Hossain has plenty of potential, and now is the time to show it in the absence of key players. The youngster will be aiming to improve on sub-par numbers in T20s this year: 14 inns, 264 runs, avg. 18.86, SR 113.79. This does include a half century against Windies recently.
  • Mossadek Hossain has produced good performances for Bangladesh in white-ball cricket. He showed some good signs in West Indies recently, with 25 runs at a strike rate of 147.05 and an economy rate of just 6.80 in five overs in the T20I series.
  • Shoriful Islam has taken seven wickets in just four T20Is vs Zimbabwe at a strike rate of 12.00. In fact, he has gone wicketless just five times in 21 innings in T20Is.
  • Mustafizur Rahman has the most wickets in ZIM-BAN T20Is. The left-armer has an incredible 18 wickets in nine matches at an economy of 6.28 and strike rate of 11.70.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 16, Zimbabwe 5, Bangladesh 11.
  • Bangladesh have won six of the past seven T20Is against Zimbabwe, including a 2-1 series win last year.
  • Richard Ngarava took three wickets in as many matches in the Qualifier tournament at an economy of just 6.85.
  • Regis Chakabva averages just 18.16 in six T20Is against Bangladesh (109 runs). However, he does have a great strike rate: 157.97.
  • Afif Hossain against Zimbabwe: 4 inns, 97 runs, avg. 24.25, SR 151.56, one half-century.

Harare Sports Club Pitch Report and Weather

Winter time in Harare usually brings about cool and clear weather. In the last nine T20Is on this ground dating back to the Pakistan series in April of last year, the average first innings score is 155.22. The team batting first won six of these matches.

Will Sourav Ganguly be heading to the ICC?

Cricket News: Will Sourav Ganguly be heading to the ICC? | Will BCCI President Sourav Ganguly make a move to the ICC?

A pending plea in the Supreme Court (SC) along with the forthcoming chairperson elections of the International Cricket Council (ICC) have cast doubts over Sourav Ganguly’s tenure as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

An SC bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana is set to hear a petition seeking an extended term of office for Ganguly and BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

The BCCI has asked the SC to revise a rule in its new constitution that requires administrators to undergo a three-year cooling-off period after serving six consecutive years in the BCCI or any other state cricket association.

The rule in place is in sync with a 2018 judgment by the SC that was made on the basis of Justice R.M. Lodha’s recommendations to reform cricket administration in India.

Ganguly first became the secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) in 2014. He went on to head CAB later on and assumed the post of the president of the BCCI in October 2019. Shah started off as the joint secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) in 2014 before taking over as the BCCI secretary in 2019.

Ganguly to the ICC? BCCI President aiming to bypass cooling off period

The duo is now looking to complete their inaugural three-year term that will conclude in November 2022 by bypassing this mandatory ‘cooling-off’ period. Along with them, joint-secretary Jayesh George, vice-president Rajiv Shukla and treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal have also completed six consecutive years in cricket administration.

The BCCI has instead pleaded to the SC to permit an office-bearer to serve six straight years at either the BCCI or the state association. The SC verdict on the aforementioned plea could have a vital impact on Ganguly and the other office-bearers’ continuity in their respective roles. The BCCI is anyways likely to go into polls in November this year.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) tweaked its rules for the election of a chairperson in its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Birmingham this Tuesday.

Now onwards, the contestant getting 51 per cent or above votes will get elected to the post of the chairperson that will fall vacant in December this year. Ganguly is being perceived as a formidable contender to replace the incumbent Greg Barclay, Sportstar reports. However, the publication also clarified that BCCI sources have hinted that it’s too soon to come to any conclusion with regards to this matter.

Now, with the SC hearing and ICC polls heading closer, how long will the former India captain continue as the president of the BCCI? Will he be stepping aside for the cooling-off period or taking a step up to the ICC? Stay tuned at CricBlog for further updates in this story.

IND vs WI 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report

IND vs WI 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report | IND vs WI 1st T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | Trinidad Pitch Report

With the ODIs done and dusted, attention moves to the T20Is as West Indies and India look to accelerate their planning for the fast-approaching World Cup.

This five-match series is an opportunity for both sides to build on promising recent form. No team has scored quicker than India’s 9.45 per over this year, as they continue to implement a change in approach after last year’s disappointing World Cup campaign. For West Indies, they are coming off a comprehensive 2-0 win over Bangladesh and a much improved showing in the ODIs against India. Plus, they have a number of players looking to hold down a spot in the XI for this year’s showpiece tournament.

The key question will be whether West Indies’ attack can limit India’s strokemakers on a Trinidad surface that has often been on the slower side in the CPL. Also, the home side’s top order will be under the microscope courtesy of India’s excellent powerplay bowling led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Indeed, the narratives are interesting, and we await to see the result here.

IND vs WI 1st T20 Possible Playing 11

According to CricBuzz, India may look to rest Ravindra Jadeja for this T20I after he missed the ODI series to manage a knee niggle. Also, India have a decision to make on the number three slot as well as who will lead the spin attack with Yuzvendra Chahal not playing.

India: 1. Rohit Sharma (c), 2. Rishabh Pant (wk), 3. Deepak Hooda/Shreyas Iyer, 4. Suryakumar Yadav, 5. Hardik Pandya, 6. Dinesh Karthik, 7. Axar Patel/Ravindra Jadeja, 8. Harshal Patel, 9. R Ashwin/Kuldeep Yadav, 10. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 11. Arshdeep Singh/Avesh Khan

Shimron Hetmyer returns for West Indies after passing a fitness test.

West Indies: 1. Brandon King, 2. Kyle Mayers, 3. Nicholas Pooran (c & wk), 4. Shimron Hetmyer, 5. Rovman Powell, 6. Jason Holder, 7. Odean Smith, 8. Romario Shepherd, 9. Akeal Hosein, 10. Obed McCoy, 11. Hayden Walsh/Alzarri Joseph

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

India:

  • Skipper Rohit Sharma has the most runs in IND-WI T20Is. The opener has struck 585 runs in 18 matches at an average of 39.00 and strike rate of 139.61. This includes four fifties and a century.
  • Suryakumar Yadav scored a brilliant century in his last T20I vs England. Also, he was named man of the series against West Indies earlier this year (107 runs, avg. 53.50, SR 194.54).
  • India to play Deepak Hooda? He has scored 59, 45, 47*, 104, 59 and 33 in his last six T20s.
  • Hardik Pandya recently broke a record for India in T20Is (50 and 4-fer in the same game). Hardik has been outstanding in all T20s this year, thumping 641 runs at an average of 45.79 and strike rate of 136.97, along with nine wickets.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar has the most wickets in IND-WI T20Is (10) although he strikes at a high 31.2 balls per wicket. Bhuvi has been superb in the powerplay in recent times, which includes three wickets at this stage in two matches against England earlier this month.
  • Kuldeep Yadav has taken eight wickets in four T20Is vs West Indies at an average of 15.50 and strike rate of just 12.

West Indies:

  • Nicholas Pooran hit three consecutive half-centuries against India earlier this year. Overall, he scored 184 runs in the three-match series at an average of 61.33 and strike rate of 140.45.
  • However, can Pooran improve on a sub-par T20 record on this ground? Stats: 9 inns, 153 runs, avg. 19.13, SR 96.23.
  • Shimron Hetmyer is a welcome addition to the Windies lineup. He has the fourth-most runs in T20s on this ground (259) at an excellent average and strike rate of 37.00 and 140.00 respectively.
  • Against India, Hetmyer has scored 178 runs in nine matches at an average of 22.25 and strike rate of 137.98.
  • Rovman Powell played some blinders in IPL 2022 and he has good numbers against India: 7 inns, 189 runs, avg. 37.80, SR 151.20. In fact, Powell enjoying a fine year in T20s, with 492 runs at an average of 35.14 and brilliant strike rate of 166.22.
  • Jason Holder will be key. He has a poor T20I bowling record vs India (5 matches, 2 wickets, avg. 108, econ. 10.80), but he is capable of turning that around. With the bat, he has scored 34 runs off 20 balls vs India and also strikes at 153.10 in eight T20s at Brian Lara Stadium.
  • Romario Shepherd recently took six wickets in three matches against Bangladesh (S/R 9). Also, he has seven wickets in as many innings on this ground at a strike rate of 18.
  • Obed McCoy has taken 25 wickets in 12 T20s in 2022. He will aim to test India with his changes of length and pace, especially at the death.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-head: Matches 20, India 13, West Indies 6, N/R 1.
  • India have won 11 of their past 12 T20Is against West Indies.
  • Brandon King has the sixth-most runs of any player in T20s on this ground (221). But, his average (20.09) and strike rate (112.18) need a lift.
  • Rishabh Pant scored a century in his last white-ball match (England ODI).
  • Both Hardik and Jadeja are two away from 50 wickets in T20Is.
  • Kyle Mayers has scored just 81 runs in five T20s on this ground (avg. 14.20).

Brian Lara Stadium Trinidad Pitch Report and Weather

This will be the first men’s international on this ground. In the CPL, the average first innings score here is 141, with the 2020 tournament playing host to a number of low-scoring matches on slow wickets.

World Test Championship WTC scenarios: India-Pakistan Final?

Cricket News: World Test Championship WTC scenarios: India-Pakistan Final? | WTC 2021-23 scenarios: Who will qualify for the Final?

The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently announced that the Final of the ongoing 2021-23 cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC) will be played at Lord’s next year. South Africa and Australia occupy the top-two spots in the standings presently. However, most of the contenders have to encounter several tough assignments in the run-up to the showpiece game in June 2023.

WTC 2021-23 Scenatios

On that note, CricBlog explores the qualification scenarios for each team involved in the championship.

South Africa

South Africa sits in top spot after seven Tests with a 71.43 per cent success rate. However, the Proteas still have to play three more series to round up this stage of the WTC cycle. That includes a three-match series each in Australia and England before they host West Indies for a two-match contest.

South Africa has an impressive record Down Under as they have won five and drawn two of their last ten Tests in Australia. They have also emerged victorious in five of their previous ten Tests in England. However, every new series brings a new set of challenges. Whether the Proteas will be able to replicate their run of form so far in the coming contests holds the key for their qualification chances to the WTC finale.

Australia

Australia has to play another nine Tests in this cycle. Five of those games will be at home against West Indies and South Africa. However, its most prominent challenge will be a four-match Test series in India.

It will be their final assignment before the WTC finale and will be instrumental in sealing both the team’s fates with regards to this tournament. Australia currently has a 70 per cent winning rate, which is significantly higher than the third-placed Sri Lanka’s 53.33 per cent. But Australia’s figures could drop starkly to 63.13 per cent even if they win all the five home Tests but lose the remaining four in India.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka sits in the third spot with a 53.33 per cent current rate. Though their performances so far appear to be impressive, the Lankans have already played five of their six series in the ongoing WTC cycle. Their final assignment will be a two-match Test series in New Zealand. The best that their percentage can improve is up to 61.1 per cent, provided they win both their remaining games against the Kiwis. In that backdrop, Sri Lanka’s chances of making it to the finals look are arguably quite unlikely presently.

India

The runners-up from the previous cycle of the WTC have more or less completed their relatively more difficult assignments this time around. India sits in the fourth spot after four games with a 52.08 success percentage. Rohit Sharma’s men will be heading for a two-game Test series in Bangladesh before hosting Australia for a four-match contest.

India can take its percentage up to 68.06 by winning all of the remaining six games. However, a slip-up is imminent as some point in time, especially against visitors as proficient as the Australians.

Pakistan

Like India, Pakistan has played four out of their six series so far. They will be hosting New Zealand and England for two and three games respectively in their last two series of the cycle. Babar Azam’s men occupy the fifth spot in the standings with a success rate of 51.85 per cent.

If they win four games and lose a solitary one, their score will shoot up to 61.9. If they win all six games, Pakistan will have a 69.05 percent success rate. India and Pakistan have fairly similar qualification scenarios and it will turn out to be a neck-to-neck contest between the two neighbours to grab a spot for the Lord’s finale in all likelihood.

West Indies

West Indies are in the sixth spot with a 50 percent success rate. The men from Caribbean have another four Tests to play in this WTC cycle. However, those games will take place in Australia and South Africa respectively. Their percentage can shoot up to 65.38 if they win all of these matches.

However, West Indies last emerged victorious in a Test in Australia way back in February 1997. They have won only one of the 15 Tests that they have played in South Africa so far. Even that sole win was back in December 2007. So, West Indies’ WTC finale hangs in a very thin rope currently.

England

England have six Tests to play in this WTC cycle. Three of them will be against South Africa at home whereas the rest will be vs Pakistan away. However, their current dismal rate of 33.33 percent means that even winning all of the remaining games will only take them up to 51.52. That might not be enough to take them to the top two spots in any circumstance.

New Zealand

The champions of the inaugural edition of the WTC sit in the eighth spot with a 25.93 percentage. They have to feature in four more Tests in this cycle. Two of them will be in Pakistan and the other two will be against Sri Lanka at home. Positive results in all these encounters will still take them nowhere close to the top-two spots in the standings.

Bangladesh

With one win in 10 Tests, Bangladesh has had a very disappointing WTC tourney so far. They sit in the last spot with only 16 points to their name. Their best hope could be dampening India’s qualification chances when they host the latter for a two-match series later on this year.

Which bowler has the most wickets after three Tests?

Cricket News: Which bowler has the most wickets after three Tests? | List of bowlers with the most wickets after three Tests

Sri Lanka’s Prabath Jayasuriya has made quite the start to his Test career, so much so that he is among the highest wicket-takers after three Tests in the history of the game.

Jayasuriya, who took the best figures on debut for Sri Lanka, has played key roles in Sri Lanka’s wins over the Aussies and Pakistan in Galle. In the process, he took a remarkable 29 wickets, which is the equal-second most by any player after three matches.

Most wickets after three Tests

Here is the list of the bowlers with the most wickets after three games.

31, Narendra Hirwani, India

Hirwani holds the record for the most wickets after three Tests (31). The legspinner took 16 of them in an incredible debut match against West Indies in Chennai in 1988, before taking eight and seven wickets against New Zealand at Bengaluru and Mumbai respectively.

29, Charlie Turner, Australia

Australia legend Charlie Turner was the original record holder for the most wickets after three Tests. The pacer, who made his debut in 1887 against England, took 29 wickets in his first three games at an extraordinary average of 11.69. He went on to finish with 101 wickets in 17 Tests at an average of 16.53.

29, Prabath Jayasuriya, Sri Lanka

Left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya came into a Sri Lankan side struggling to find control from its spinners. They were disappointing in a heavy defeat against Australia at Galle, one Test after the spinners went wicketless in a victory against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

Enter Jayasuriya. Despite being an infant at Test level, Jayasuriya displayed all his cricketing know-how with a wonderful display of variations in speed and turn en-route to 29 wickets at an average of 20.37.

27, Rodney Hogg, Australia

Another Australian in the list. Pacer Rodney Hogg took an incredible five five-wicket hauls in his first six innings as a Test bowler, all against England in 1978. His first 27 wickets cost just 11 runs apiece – one of the most memorable starts to a Test career in history.

27, Axar Patel, India

Another Indian in the list, as well as another left-arm spinner. Axar Patel might still live in the nightmares of the English batsmen as he tormented them in the 2021 series in India.

The Englishmen looked clueless particularly against his delivery that went on with the arm. Patel took four five-wicket hauls in six innings to finish with 27 scalps after his first three Tests, the equal third-most ever.

AU-W vs IN-W Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report: CWG 2022 Match 1 | AU-W vs IN-W Dream11 Prediction Today | Edgbaston Pitch Report

For the first time in 24 years, cricket is part of the Commonwealth Games. Women’s cricket will be the centerpiece from a cricketing perspective, as seven nations seek to challenge Australia, who are undoubtedly favourites for the gold medal.

India is first up in a game that could set up their campaign. If you remember, India upset Australia in their first match of the 2020 T20 World Cup, with the spinners producing the goods in Sydney that night. However, if Harmanpreet Kaur’s team are to topple over the Australians, they will need to bat more proactively than they did in their recent tour of Sri Lanka.

In terms of Australia’s preparations, it was stop-start due to the rain in Ireland. The Aussies were too strong for both Pakistan and Ireland in the series, with Meg Lanning moving back to the number one position in the T20I batting rankings thanks to 113 runs in two innings. Also, the bowlers, led by spinners Alana King and Jess Jonassen, were in fine form, and they will be aiming to make early inroads into India’s batting lineup.

  • Jemimah Rodrigues averages just 19.50 and strikes at 98.48 vs Australia. But, she is constantly improving, evidenced by important knocks in Sri Lanka last month.
  • Deepti Sharma will be crucial in the absence of Vastrakar. She has scored 151 runs against Australia (avg. 25.17) and has 12 wickets (avg. 18.50).
  • Rajeshwari Gaikwad has a very impressive 15 wickets in nine matches against Australia at an average of 17.67 and economy of 7.36.

  • Megan Schutt has 13 wickets in nine matches against India at an average of 18.46 and economy of 6.82.
  • Can Shafali Verma improve on her numbers vs Australia? She has scored 117 runs at an average of 14.63 and strike rate of 142.68.

Edgbaston Birmingham Pitch Report and Weather

It is often a good batting surface at Edgbaston, with some high run rates in the 2022 Vitality Blast and England men’s incredible run chase against India in the Test.

In the Blast, the average first innings score was 158.88 at a run rate of 9.04 due to one shortened match where 98 was scored in eight overs.

There is a slight chance of showers, but conditions should be mostly fine. A top of 22 degrees is forecast with some cloud cover.

ENG vs SA 2nd T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report

ENG vs SA 2nd T20 Dream11 Prediction & Fan2Play Possible 11 Pitch Report | ENG vs SA 2nd T20 Dream11 Prediction Today | England vs South Africa 2nd T20I Key Players | Cardiff Pitch Report

It was entertainment of the highest order as England and South Africa played out another memorable T20I. Less than 24 hours later, the two teams will back at it again, as England aim to win their first white-ball series of their home season.

Led by Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Dawid Malan, England produced their best white-ball batting display since their magnificent Test run. The attacking, unrelenting strokeplay that they are so well known for has come to the fore, and they have an immediate opportunity to replicate that in Cardiff.

For South Africa, the key question is how they can stop the bleeding against a deep and powerful batting lineup. Andile Phehlukwayo’s place is under the spotlight after conceding 63 in his four overs, while the Proteas need Tabraiz Shamsi to rediscover the form that took him to the number one ranking in 2021.

However, despite the 41-run defeat, there is much to be positive about. The emergence of Tristan Stubbs is as exciting as it is thrilling, forming part of a batting lineup that is looking strong on paper, especially when you consider Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram are to come back.

ENG vs SA 2nd T20 Possible Playing 11

England may look to stick with the same team.

England: 1. Jason Roy, 2. Jos Buttler (c & wk), 3. Dawid Malan, 4. Jonny Bairstow, 5. Moeen Ali, 6. Liam Livingstone, 7. Sam Curran, 8. Chris Jordan, 9. Adil Rashid, 10. Reece Topley, 11. Richard Gleeson/David Willey

Aiden Markram and Rassie van der Dussen were rested for the first T20I. It remains to be seen whether they will return. Dwaine Pretorius could replace Andile Phehlukwayo.

South Africa: 1. Quinton de Kock (wk), 2. Reeza Hendricks, 3. Rilee Rossouw/Rassie van der Dussen, 4. Heinrich Klaasen/Aiden Markram, 5. David Miller (c), 6. Tristan Stubbs, 7. Dwaine Pretorius, 8. Kagiso Rabada, 9. Keshav Maharaj, 10. Lungi Ngidi, 11. Tabraiz Shamsi

Key Players to Watch/Key Stats

England:

  • Jonny Bairstow made South Africa pay for missed chances yesterday. After his brilliant 90 (53), he now has 428 runs in 11 innings vs SA at an average of 47.55 and strike rate of 157.35.
  • England used Moeen Ali in the middle overs and it paid dividends. The all-rounder smashed a magnificent 52 off 18 balls, taking his career strike rate against South Africa to 180.45.
  • Also, England could be tempted to use Moeen early with the ball. He has dismissed Quinton de Kock four times for 60 runs in 42 deliveries in T20s.
  • Dawid Malan enjoys playing against the Proteas. He smashed 42 off 23 balls yesterday, part of 338 runs in seven knocks vs SA in T20Is (avg. 56.33, SR 159.43).
  • Also, Malan has a good record in T20s at Cardiff: 8 inns, 264 runs, avg. 44.00, SR 132.00.
  • Reece Topley’s dream season continued. He dismissed left-handers de Kock and Rilee Rossouw yesterday on his way to 2/29. Also, the left-armer has taken five wickets in four matches on this ground (avg. 21, econ. 8.08).
  • Chris Jordan was his usual self in the field yesterday, taking another terrific catch. He has the most wickets for England against South Africa in T20Is (15).
  • Adil Rashid in T20s at Cardiff: 6 matches, 9 wickets, avg. 17.78, econ. 7.27. Sam Curran also has good numbers: 5 matches, 7 wickets, avg. 10.57, econ. 6.43.

South Africa:

  • England will be sure to set another strong offside field for Quinton de Kock. So how will he respond? If he gets going, watch out, as he strikes at 160.89 in 10 T20Is vs England (325 runs).
  • What a performance it was by Tristan Stubbs. The youngster smashed 72 off 28 balls, and he will be itching to get back out to the crease today.
  • If Rassie van der Dussen returns, he will be one to watch. He smashed a superb 94* off 60 balls in his last T20I against England. He also scored a century in the ODI series.
  • So too Aiden Markram. He had a brilliant IPL earlier this year (381 runs, avg. 47.63, SR 139.05) and scored 52* off 25 in his last T20I vs England.
  • Lungi Ngidi now has simply incredible numbers against England after his five-wicket haul. He has 17 wickets in just seven matches against them with a strike rate of 9.2. This includes both Roy and Buttler three times each.
  • Kagiso Rabada was wicketless but economical yesterday (4-0-30-0). The pacer, who has nine wickets in seven T20Is vs England, will be better for the run.

Other Stats and Facts

  • Head-to-Head: Matches 23, England 12, South Africa 10, N/R 1.
  • England have won six of the past seven T20Is against the Proteas.
  • Jos Buttler has the most runs in ENG-SA T20Is: 16 inns, 438 runs, avg. 33.69, SR 158.12.
  • Rilee Rossouw in T20s this year: 26 inns, 879 runs, avg. 43.95, SR 186.62.
  • David Miller averages just 20.50 with a strike rate of 135.53 vs England. He can fire at anytime, though, as seen in the IPL earlier this year where he scored 320 runs when chasing at a strike rate of 152.38, and was dismissed just twice.

Sophia Gardens Cardiff Pitch Report and Weather

The average first innings score in the Blast at Cardiff this year was just 147.5 (excluding the rain-shortened seven over match between Welsh Dragons and Somerset). The chasing team won four of the seven matches on the ground.

England and South Africa are both capable of smashing that average first innings score. A relatively clear night is forecast.
